Seaport Village is a charming waterfront complex located along San Diego's Embarcadero. It offers a delightful mix of over 70 shops, chic boutiques, and diverse dining options, from fine dining to casual American and Mexican cuisine. The village is designed to resemble a traditional West Coast seaport and features relaxed grounds with fountains and ponds. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk at any time of day while taking in stunning views of San Diego Bay.
One of my favourite places in San Diego. Combines traditional architecture with a modern American look. Full of nice shops and restaurants. Still with plenty of space to walk around. Its proximity to the harbor is priceless. You can have a beer or food and just watch the sea. In the afternoon and evening it has a lot of pretty light to offer. Worth seeing.

Seaport Village is a great place to visit. Take a stroll down the boardwalk it has lots of nice views of San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bridge. Lots of concrete walkways wind through the village. Lots of shops and great food and ice cream for the kids! The USS Midway Museum is very close to Seaport Village. Many different things to see in this area from the Gaslamp quarters, the Convention Center and Petco Park all very close by within walking distance from each other. I was very impressed with all the shops and great food and wonderful atmosphere. Alot of people smiling and saying hello to each other. This place is fun for all ages!

The USS Midway Museum is an absolute must-visit when you’re in San Diego! It’s such a fascinating place filled with history, and walking through the ship really gives you a glimpse into what life was like for sailors on board. There’s so much to explore from the flight deck to the engine room and you can easily spend hours here. I recommend starting your visit from the 41 Deck up to down, as the upper deck (Flight Deck) closes earlier at 4:30 PM. You definitely don’t want to miss it because the view and the aircraft displays up there are incredible! The volunteers and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to share stories and answer questions. It’s a fun and educational experience for all ages truly one of the highlights of my San Diego trip!

My daily running path runs through SV. I love to stop for some water or coffee and take it in. You can really feel the soul and pulse of the city right there. I'm usually there early mornings and it's so beautiful. Night time is magical too. I'm so grateful the city built amazing places to run

It’s been years since I last visited Seaport Village. I recently stopped by with my cousin, who was visiting California. I thought I would take her to some of the places I used to frequent during my childhood. I still remember when the buildings used to look more brown. It has a more appealing look with its white paint. Against the blue skies, it just looks more attractive. It still has that charm that I remember. I remember walking along the walkway between the shops and bay. These used to be a wall of boulders and stones that separated the walkway from the waters. It’s now cemented for a polished white wall. The large fountain that I remember is still there. It still looks maintained and the restrooms are clean. There is a fee to park at Seaport Village. Overall, Seaport Village is a nice spot that’s calm and has a relaxing vibe with a view of the bay - and, if you’re lucky, you’ll spot some naval ships pass by.

Seaport Village is a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the ocean view. Lots of nice shops, great food spots, and friendly people. Perfect for relaxing, taking photos, or just spending a calm evening by the water. You can enjoy live music on every weekend.

Seaport Village in San Diego is a charming waterfront shopping and dining complex that captures the relaxed, coastal spirit of Southern California. Located along San Diego Bay, it features more than 50 unique shops, art galleries, and restaurants set amid cobblestone pathways, lush gardens, and a picturesque marina. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of the harbor, watch street performers, ride the historic carousel, or simply stroll along the waterfront promenade. With its blend of seaside ambiance, local flavors, and family-friendly attractions, Seaport Village is a favorite destination for both tourists and locals seeking a peaceful escape in the heart of downtown San Diego.

We love visiting Seaport Village! It’s such a beautiful area to walk around, watch the ducks, enjoy the water, and do a little people-watching. The atmosphere is relaxing and scenic, perfect for a casual day out. For food, Louisiana Charlie’s is absolutely delicious and always hits the spot, and just across the way, Broadys house of flavors is a must for a sweet treat.

Art museum
The New Children's Museum is a vibrant and modern space in downtown that encourages children to think, play, and create. It aims to nurture children's imagination and provide a platform for it to thrive. The museum offers diverse hands-on experiments in science, art, and culinary arts to enhance problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities. Through commissioned contemporary art pieces with tactile and participatory elements, the museum opens up the world of art for children by providing opportunities to observe and create.
Tip: parking is $20 and you can park until 4pm. Its underground and allows you to walk around downtown SD too because the museum allows for reentry as long as you keep your ticket for the day. Overall: great place for kids to explore and support local artists. We made a day trip to SD. Left Irvine at 10am on a weekday and got to the .museum by 11:30. Explored a bit and exited to grab lunch outside the museum. Post lunch we were back at the museum and left by 3:30 before it close and beat rush hr traffic

This is a great place to take the kids. They many activities and obstacles for the children. We enjoyed ourselves. It did get a bit overcrowded but that may have been due to the holiday weekend. The only downside is that the Air Conditioner was not working or they don't have an HVAC system. We went for labor weekend and it was very hot and humid. No A/C or good ventilation really sucks in a 3 story building.

An unforgettable birthday experience at The New Children’s Museum! We had the most wonderful time celebrating our daughter’s birthday here. Everything was truly exceptional from start to finish. Our party coordinator was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive — she stayed in touch throughout the entire process, helped with every detail, and made sure we felt completely cared for and stress-free. The celebration was beautifully organized — every element was thoughtful, warm, and full of joy. The kids were absolutely thrilled! I loved how seamless the experience was: from the initial online reservation and email communication to the final moments of the party, everything was handled with such care and professionalism. We even received a lovely surprise — a beautiful keepsake book for my daughter to remember her special day. The reserved parking space in the garage was a great touch, and I really appreciated the option to add setup, decoration, and cleanup services for a small extra fee — it made the day truly effortless for us. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Everything was perfect — joyful, well-organized, and full of heart. Thank you to the entire team for making this day so memorable! 💖🎉

We visited this museum while visiting San Diego and were not disappointed. Like any other children's museum, the exhibits are highly interactive (even for babies). From varying shapes, colors, tactile experience, sounds and levels of agility - there was something for everyone. Each exhibit thoroughly explained details about the artist and its intended purpose/what it is geared to teach. My 8 month old had a great time in every space - even just being around the older kids as they were able to climb more of the structures than her. We fully intend to make this a must-do any time we are in the area. If you have a fellow baby, I highly recommend arriving first thing to enjoy the "big kid" structures before it gets too packed before heading back to the infant-intended spaces. Our favorite exhibit had to be the disco room with the DJ table. The colors, shimmering textures and interactive table really grasped our full attention.

What a fun modern experimental children museum! My 8yo son visited the museum in the summer and we loved all the areas. Very creative place with sensorial activities, little secret nooks, tree house vibe, long slides and a beautiful circus play area that is a bit strange and weird but so beautiful. Special mention to the knitted cocoon to climb. I think the place is perfect for kids under 8yo but we had a lot of fun!

06-14-2025 I was here on Mass Creativity Day (free admission) with my nieces. Because it was a special event, they had fun activities/entertainment and food trucks also. Below are some of the activities in the museum that children can explore: -Wobbleland for children ages 4 and under, limit to 10 ppl at a time, no shoes allowed -Clay Studio, no age limit -Prismopolis where you can explore color and light in your city

Great place to take kids. We’re visiting San Diego and decided to spend a day here. Well worth the money! My 4 year old enjoyed all the different play areas and even got to make things with clay. They also have an art station but my kid wasn’t too interested lol really nice place for kids and adults to have fun.

This museum was so wonderful. I had to practically drag my child out of here at closing time. We loved the pottery and all the climbing exhibits. The food at the cafe was typical. If I hadn't taken public transportation I would have packed a lunch next. They were giving away free Nature's Bakery brownies which my little one loved, of course. Afterward we went to the nearby park, which was also amazing.

Petco Park, opened in 2004, is a prominent outdoor stadium that hosts seasonal sporting events and concerts. While dogs are technically not allowed inside the stadium, Petco Park has hosted numerous dog-friendly events, including special game days like Dog Days of Summer and features The Barkyard with semi-private dog-friendly viewing sections for Padres home games.
This park is an exceptional experience! It’s now in my top 5 ballparks. There’s something for everyone, and more. I recommend going early to get a good look around the park before it fills in. There are plenty of food options and seating everywhere, so you can people-watch while you eat. There’s also a lot of staff to help you find washrooms and take great photos of the park and the surrounding areas. Kids can play on the playground and on the miniature baseball field. The outfield seating is also very good, allowing you to be within talking distance of the players.

One of my favourite ball parks that we have been coming to for over 10 years. Amazing views of the city and lots of good options for food and drink. Came for a Padres v Dodgers Friday night game this time and it didn’t disappoint. The small wine place across from the Lexus Lounge was great. Very easy to get served, which was a challenge in the lounge itself. Friday night games are the best as the crowd is loud and engaged. Padres fans are have always been friendly when we visit and everyone had a nice time.

Great park. Been to like 40 different baseball parks (current and retired ones). This is one of the best! Amazing setting. Great views of the city. Interesting features inside like the Padres HOF. They were having Hispanic Heritage weekend when I went in late September. Definite playoff vibe as well with Mariachi band (they played the national anthem - never heard that before) and Latina dancers and sitting room seats in outfield. Super fun.

This has to be one of the better MLB stadiums I have been to. It was easy to get to and find parking for. The employees were friendly and nice, and it was fun seeing the fans get into the game and cheer for the Padres. The food in and around the stadium were also good. I look forward to being able to come back to see another MLB game here when I'm able to.
Brian N — Google review
This review is all about Petco Park itself, not the Padres—though I’ll always bleed blue for my team! This stadium easily ranks in my top four. The views, the electric vibe, and the food make it a standout. The highlight? The famous Seaside Market Tri-Tip Nachos (aka Cardiff Crack nachos). These are an absolute must-try—loaded with juicy, slow-smoked tri-tip, nacho cheese, BBQ sauce, sour cream, and green onions. They’re so YUM, even a traditionalist like me, who lives for ballpark hot dogs, happily deviates for these. Trust me, they’re worth it! Escaping triple-digit Arizona heat for a game at Petco each season is a highlight. The back-and-forth rivalry cheers in the stands create an unmatched atmosphere. From the stunning views to the incredible food, Petco Park delivers an unforgettable baseball experience. Can’t wait to return next season!

Great stadium, fantastic area, great staff and service, and had a great time! I got the steak nachos, which were fine, but could have used hot sauce or salsa. One bottle of soda was $7…pricey. Great viewing area with large screen!

9/6/25 Parking is a zoo so come early for dinner and so you can check out the merchandise. On Saturday, we parked at the Hard Rock Hotel and paid @$90 for valet plus tip. The park is clean and has lots of meal options. The people who worked there were friendly and helpful. I didn't have to wait in line for a bathroom! So nice! I'd suggest hanging out for a bit because there is so much traffic after the event, no need to rush. Overall, a good experience. I'd bring my comfy walking shoes because you'll be walking to get there and up lots of stairs. (There are elevators.) Pro tips- don't get the mixed drinks, stick with the beer on level 1. I had the rum and pineapple juice drink and it was watery. Also, make sure to have a plastic bag.
Elka — Google review
Petco Park as a stadium venue. It's absolutely beautiful. I've now been there 3 times back to back in a row for the Dia de los Deftones music festival. I'm from the central valley and even though it's a 6 hour drive back and forth it's SO worth it. Every year I look forward to this concert because of the city, the concert and the venue. Dia de los Deftones is my favorite music festival of ALL time and at this point it's a tradition that I've accepted into my life and love sharing it with friends and family for the first time or returning. If this festival didn't happen at Petco park I can honestly say it wouldn't be the same.

Bayside Park, located on the east side of San Diego Bay, is a charming waterfront public park offering paved walking trails, picnic tables, and a fishing pier. The park provides stunning views of the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge and the city skyline. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as biking, walking, running, skating, swimming, stand-up paddle-boarding, and kayaking.
Chula Vista Bayside Park is a hidden gem for those seeking a peaceful escape by the water. With ample parking available, it’s easy to access and start exploring this well-maintained park. The layout offers a delightful mix of sand, grassy areas, paved paths, and a simple trail along the waterside, providing plenty of options for walking, relaxing, or simply soaking in the coastal views. The park is incredibly dog-friendly, making it a perfect spot for a longer walk with your furry friend. The waterfront paths are ideal for stretching your legs while enjoying the fresh breeze and sparkling water. Richard, my Shiba Inu, loved trotting along the path, taking in all the new scents and sights. Convenient public restrooms are available, which is always a bonus for a park visit. Whether you’re there for a leisurely stroll, a picnic, or just to enjoy the tranquil environment, Chula Vista Bayside Park has something for everyone. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, reconnect with nature, and share quality time with your dog or loved ones. Highly recommend!

First time visiting. Went on a Saturday night around 6pm. Stayed until about 8pm. Lovely view by the Gaylord Convention Center. Really a beautiful and clean park. Lots of kids playing, riding bicycles, playing volleyball and walking around. I highly recommend and I will return.

It’s definitely getting there. There are still a couple of odd characters around, but the improvements with the new hotel are really coming together. I went for a walk and saw a nice mix of people—couples, young and old, families, and individuals just enjoying the area. Chula Vista really needs something like this. I would’ve given it five stars, but I think there needs to be more police presence to help keep the riff-raff away.

Lolita's Mexican Food has been serving up delicious tacos, burritos, and signature carne asada fries for over 20 years in Chula Vista. The East Village location is perfect for those looking to enjoy some Mexican food near PETCO Park and the Convention Center.
Was out taking a stroll and wanted Mexican for lunch. I had heard about Carmelita's Kitchen de Mexico. Google showed that they were open, however they were closed so I walked across the street to Lolita's Mexican Food. I'm glad I did. My meal was delish. The staff was friendly and assisted me with a great variety of food to sample. Overall Great Customer Service and very clean facility
PATRICE O — Google review
Lolita’s near Petco Park is a clean and reasonably priced spot for when you are near the park. Being downtown, they don’t have assigned parking so you’ll either need to find street parking which can be difficult or take a ride share. We have been there a few times and service has been hit and miss. Sometimes they are friendly and other times the staff seem more stressed out than pleasant. The Carne Asada is not my favorite in San Diego but it’s always tender and is good with the salsas on the bar. Fish Tacos also not the absolute best in San Diego but decent. It’s a solid choice for reasonably priced Mexican food if you’re in the area.
Steven H — Google review
I go between 3 and 4 stars here. The food is reasonably good. I really like the asada fries. Probably one of their best items. The rice is very bland. Mexican rice is usually fragrant and flavorful. I'd give them 3.5 stars if I could. Not a bad place to grab a bit, but by no means the best Mexican food I ever had.
Terry W — Google review
I recently grabbed some tacos and quesadilla at this venue nearby Petco park. It was very clean, the service was friendly, and my food was great. They had plenty of table seating in their dining area at a lot of space to sit at their bar. I noticed they also had a lot of TVs with sports playing too. Solid food and salsa bar, I’d definitely go back again.
Jerome C — Google review
We went after a Padres games, and it was obviously super busy. I definitely plan to revisit when it’s not so crowded to see if the food is any different. Also, I want to try other items from the menu. I’ll say, despite the crowd of fired up and probably mostly drunk customers, the staff was friendly and upbeat. I got a fish taco and a shrimp taco. The shrimp taco was seriously amazing. The shrimp were nice and big, not overcooked, and the seasoning and flavor was great. The fish taco was nowhere near as good. I’ll certainly try it again when the place is less busy but overall the fish lacked flavor and was super mushy.
Kara S — Google review
Food looks good but it taste bland. I am only giving it a 3 star because i did like the asada fries.
KmaxG — Google review
Coming back to California I was looking forward to having some good Mexican food. Unfortunately Lolita’s didn’t deliver. Food: 2 stars Value: 3 stars My sister lived in San Diego for a number of years and one thing she misses is the carne asada fries. One of things that I thought I should have while in town were carne asada fries. The carne asada wasn’t very good and that ruined the dish for me. The guacamole was ok and the fries were cooked ok but I found that this dish a fail. The fish taco was pretty bad. Not enough sauce, the tortilla was mealy and not crisp. The fish quality was good but I was expecting a Baja style and this wasn’t anything like that at all. The rolled tacos were ok. Kind of reminds me of something I could get at Costco. Probably the best of the three things I had.
Vincent Q — Google review
So close to comic con and right behind the petco park stadium. Excellent price and delicious authentic food! So tasty! It is a bit greasy but that didn't negatively impact flavor. Large portions for the price. Definitely would recommend - especially if you're looking for a place that doesn't break the bank!

The Blind Burro is a stylish Mexican eatery and bar in San Diego, offering Baja-style coastal cuisine and an extensive collection of tequilas, mezcals, bacanoras, and raicillas. The restaurant features happy hour specials on weekdays with discounted drinks and delicious food options. With its vibrant atmosphere and unique twists on Mexican fare, The Blind Burro provides a Baja-inspired dining experience that will transport you to the coast of Mexico.
The perfect place to continue the party after a Padres game! We got a nice table for 8 right after a Padres win, sooooooooooooo double win?? Double House margarita with no extra flavor was one of the better margaritas I've had downtown. Service was incredibly quick, the $5 chips and salsa is a great deal and tasty. The menu is on the expensive side, but the two tacos for $20 and a side were huge and enough to satisfy a grown man. The grilled shrimp was fantastic, the Al Pastor seemed more like Asada but was still tasty. The rice was decent but meh, the black beans were good. TJ dog was great, tons of toppings and an ok bun, but $9 was a good price. Burro bowl was huge with added shrimp, and tasty! The service really shined for us so that will keep us coming back!
Tom K — Google review
I ordered a lobster taco with street corn and tried two different margaritas. While the street corn was a bit too sour for my taste, and the margaritas, despite being listed as distinct, tasted quite similar, the calamari was excellent. Overall, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I’d happily give this place 4.5 stars!
Wattana C — Google review
We found our way into the Blind Burro and really appreciated the food and atmosphere. The place was a zoo because of Comic-Con so we had to expect service would be slower. But our server did well but slow. Food was awesome and we saw a Roper Romp. Woo hoo!

This was our second time at the Blind Burro. The first visit was enough to bring us back. The second visit makes us want to return every time we come to San Diego. Best nachos & churros ever. Other food was good, too. Our server, Allison, did a great job for us. Keep up the good work!

During my recent work conference, I was lucky to find The Blind Burro right across the street from my hotel — what a gem! Erika greeted me with genuine warmth and recommended the bacon-wrapped jalapeños, which turned out to be an unforgettable treat. The perfect blend of smoky, spicy, and savory flavors made it a standout dish. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and drop by — you won’t regret it!
Nat V — Google review
This spot is like block from the Padres stadium so you can enjoy a meal and drink before you enter or a drink after. The average cost a plate is $23, I would recommend paying the $2 uncharged for the corn, well worth it, definitely better then rice or beans. For a starter I would get the salsa flight, it comes with 4 salsa a flavor and spice level for everyone. They have outdoor seating with shade cover for those nice days, and great for people watching. Good restaurant decor, a lot of seating plus they also have to bars with seating at both. The quality of the is decent, nothing rave about, but a good spot for an outing with friends.

I had the coffee rubbed salmon tacos, black beans, and street corn. It was all really delicious overall. Adding to lime to the street corn enhanced the flavor. House hot sauce was also a great compliment to the tacos. Bit noisy but about what you'd expect for a bar / restaurant in the gaslamp.

Fast food restaurant
Tacos El Gordo is a no-frills Mexican counter-serve joint located in Tijuana, Mexico that specializes in tacos, mulas (pronounced mulas), and loaded fries. The restaurant makes its own tortillas from scratch and uses fresh ingredients in its house-made guacamole and salsas. The taco shop is family-owned and has been in operation since 1998.
This place never disappoints! Not only the authentic flavors but the real down home Mexican vibe! When you start ordering it's like being at a typical family party Joking and laughing around the grill as the tacos are being prepared! Campechana fries are the best, also can't go wrong with any of the tacos!

Best Dank tacos in San Diego. There is a drive thru if you wanna just stop and go but the line does get super long. Theres not much parking in their lot but a couple street parking spots across the street. Definitely get the variety of tacos not just one
Benjamin T — Google review
The food here is AMAZING & DELICIOUS! Was referred by a local friend/family to try this place out and we say it’s worth the drive! The meat is quality and the amount they give you is FULL! Definitely recommend 10/10 and would come back again! Try it out if you haven’t! It’s the closest tacos you’ll get to Tijuana or may even be better!
Sandy Y — Google review
Nice place to enjoy the Mexican taste taco! They only do takeouts now because of the pandemic. We ordered the spicy pork and loved it. They have cilantro in it so definitely let them know if you are not a fan of cilantro as my bf.
Chialin W — Google review
These tacos are seriously the best I've ever had. I went here on a friend's recommendation and planned on getting 4-5 tacos, but ended up eating 8 just by myself. You can't go here and not get the Adobada (spicy pork) tacos. They cut the meat off right in front of you and the sauce and toppings are just incredible.
Isaac S — Google review
This is hands-down my favorite taco shop. Period. Nothing beats their authentic variety and flavor. It’s the reason a long line might greet you before you get to the counter to order. Parking is challenging if you want to try and get into the lot, but it’s all worth it even if you park at the public transit lot and walk over.

MÉXICO (BAJA) 🇲🇽 Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles: In its 21 years of life in San Diego (and almost 50 in Tijuana), Tacos El Gordo has reached essential status. You would think the heart and soul of Tijuana-style tacos would be easy to replicate so close to the border and in Southern California in general, but as with everything the scene takes on a life of its own and goes elsewhere. If you happen to come to Tacos El Gordo on H Street during a rare off hour, you might be bewildered by the amount of open space in the entry, seemingly unused. Normally this is crammed with humanity and multiple lines, some longer and more crooked than others. To be sure, the lines near the trompo and for carne asada are always hefty, and this should guide a meal for any beginner. When eating tacos here there are many things that set them apart, starting with the fresh little tortillas that are still warm from the station creating them. Tacos de adobada ($2.60 c/u) are a natural place to start, what the place is known for above all else, and just such a pleasure. They slather each with that legendary creamy runny avocado salsa that could never be replicated in a hundred attempts in your own kitchen.

My friends and I stopped by here before we left to go back home to the valley to finish my bachelor party. One of my groomsmen wanted us to try this place so he took us here. The first thing that stood out was that parking is very limited so be aware of that. When we got inside, they have different area based on what you're going to order so you'll have to go to that area to order your food. I got only 1 Carne asada tacos while my friends got their Adobaba fries and also lengua tacos too. My taco was made in front of me when I ordered it so it came out quick. The fries took a while because they make it in the back. We had an issue with my friend Carne asada fries because it had hair in it so they had to remake it for him. The Carne asada taco was alright to me.

Mexican restaurant
Tacos El Gordo is a beloved family-owned Mexican eatery that has been serving up mouthwatering Tijuana street tacos since 1972. With locations in San Diego and Chula Vista, this no-frills joint offers an authentic and affordable taco experience. The menu features a variety of fillings, including carne asada, al pastor, and their popular fish taco with crispy white fish, zesty salsa, and a squeeze of lime.
Being from Texas, naturally, I am reluctant to write this review. These were some of if not the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Price is a bit lofty, nearly $5 a taco but they do pack the tacos with meat so they are very filling.

Always love the quick, friendly service and great food. I usually get the cabeza and lengua tacos but everything is good. They have people dedicated to keeping the place clean so you never have to worry about a dirty table.
Jay S — Google review
We've tried several Mexican food during our trip to California and Tacos El Gordo was one of the best, they don't skimp on the ingredients. We arrived at 5:00 pm on a weekday and it was packed. Ordering was easy and efficient because they had separate lines for the different types of food and everything was labelled clearly. We will definitely visit this place again.
Join P — Google review
Excellent tacos with all the different type of meat to choose from. Beef tongue melts in the mouth, steak is smoky and flavorful. The fries with choice of meat is also very tasty. Lining up for each type of taco needs to detailed analysis of which ones go on which line, just like in a street market :) It is also very reasonably priced. There's also a sink near the cashier for washing hands without going to the bathroom. Very convenient.
George K — Google review
The softest and juiciest lengua I've had in Cali. Hands down home made! Well run business. Nothing can beat this place, seriously. Parking in the back but most people park near JC Penny and walked over

All tacos are delicious! First time trying a vampiro was 100/10!! Highly recommend to try everything. Especially the adobada (pastor).

Tacos are delicious. The carne asada and the pastor are my go to. Have never had a bad experience here. The cantaloupe agua fresca was a nice surprise.

Great tacos. After a meh experience at the gaslamp location where none of the tacos had any flavor, I was hesitant to try them again but the chula vista location was amazing. The adobada tacos were my favorite. My husband loves the lengua tacos.

Pancake restaurant
Family House of Pancakes is a no-frills, family-friendly eatery in Chula Vista that serves breakfast all day, alongside sandwiches and burgers. This restaurant has earned a stellar reputation for its top-notch breakfast offerings. Their omelets are exceptionally tasty and their crepes are always a delightful choice. Whether you're craving a ham, mushroom, and American cheese omelet with house potatoes or Nutella crepes, this place delivers on flavor.
My whimsically beautiful boyfriend and I are visiting San Diego together from Phoenix and he found this restaurant. Being from Arizona we are very hesitant towards most things California but we tried the California omelet and were amazed. We are still in awe of the pure magnificence of the restaurant atmosphere, the warm and kind service, and the quality of the food. I will be thinking about the richness of the avocado in the fluffy and gooey omelet for weeks. This restaurant has significantly altered both of our perceptions of California. I honestly never want to return to Arizona just so I could eat at this restaurant everyday.

First time coming here! Hubby was a guest because his friend took him here. So his 2nd time here. First of all, I want to brag about their customer service. If you go to D@nnys they have so few staff to attend to you. Here they swing by several times and ask is there anything I can get for you? How's it going? And not even my the same staff!! 3 staff came by! Now their hours are 7 am to 2pm. They have been here by the time of this post 2 years. I'm very impressed. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the adventurous public movements and happenings outside. It was calm and peaceful with a nice breeze. I wanted mashed potatoes and gravy. So I ended up ordering their meatloaf! Im a veggie lover and I loved their green beans, too! Their entire menu is available any time and all day. The cappuccino was sooo 👍 good!🥰🥰🥰😋😋😋😋 Hubby likes grits, so that's why he comes here now.🍳🥓🥞 and who doesnt like eggs bacon and pancakes. Want fast friendly, warm service with your eating adventure? Come here! Let's go!

I’m always a little worried when menus lack pricing, but we definitely received our money’s worth here. I was really hungry for pancakes and happy to discover they were an optional side to my Acapulco scramble. (~$19) I ignored the fact that I ordered too many carbs and relished in the idea that I had at least two additional meals of leftovers to take home with me. This breakfast Hit The Spot! Staff were quick with coffee refills and friendly smiles. This place was busy for a good reason. We will be back!

We had Sunday brunch of strawberry crepes and crab cake Beni with avocado on the side. The eggs were cooks fantastic and the crab cake Beni had a thin biscuit on the bottom that was a fantastic touch. the crepes were a tad think but held up great to the strawberry inside.

Excellent breakfast for two, food is tasty and nourishing. A little bit crowded but comes with being a great place to eat.
Raul L — Google review
We traveled over 30 miles to this humble pancake house for my daughter’s birthday breakfast, and it exceeded all expectations. The food arrived quickly, with generous portions and the fluffiest buttermilk pancakes we’ve ever had. They even recognized her birthday and surprised her with a strawberry crepe and a birthday song. The place was packed within 20 minutes, and it’s clear why—especially after hearing their inspiring story of perseverance since the 1960s. A truly magical experience!

Very noisy, very crowded, staff were very rushed. Food was very good for American comfort food but nothing special. No wheelchair access. Portions were large. Prices were not good considering the quality of the environment, service and food type. We could have eaten at Snooze AM for the same price with a much better atmosphere, service and food quality.

Whether you're a novice or an experienced player, you can enjoy various card games like blackjack, Pai Gow, baccarat, Texas Hold'em, and Omaha. Small but nicely put together. Get the app and reserve your seat for for poker bc they only have 8 to 9 tables. Wait times can be lengthy. But the action is great!! They also have pai gow and black jack. The food is amazing! I tried thier salt and pepper chicken wings and I was impressed. They have an assortment of items that aim to please.

Hands down the worst “casino” I’ve ever laid eyes on. Genuinely thought it was a hotel bar. No worries though, they pay well. If you’re hungry, table side service? Maybe it wasn’t that bad just close your eyes.
Ryan M — Google review
For a local South bay restaurant i have to rate a 3.5 stars. Food was good enough. However, $30 for average piece of steak and french fries...whattt?..The wings are good and we would order every time we ate here. Last time I visited the same wings plate was actual a plate full of wings, now its 5 wings for $15. The pasta is more worth it. Good portion and flavorful $24. The service is pleasant. Server was friendly and helpful. They have Redecorated the patio area with alot of green. They used to have fire pits and big screens in the patio, no more. We used to come regularly to eat late night. Unfortunately, inflation has hit this casino and they can not afford to serve great food at a moderate price. Casinos traditionally have OFFERED great food and not too pricey. Food was a draw for the casinos to bring people in. So, If you eat here prepare for it to be pricey without the full restaurant experience. Players are right next to dining areas so its just part of the experience. The server made the difference in us enjoying the diner eve.

Omg great Italian food in Chula Vista! This place is really good authentic Italian food, I tried the fried calamari (fried as it should) and amatricciana, very tasty sauce, tasted like I was in Rome. Great selection of wines as well. I am very selective of Italian food, I rather not eat it at all if is not authentic, this passed the test with flying colors. *For the review criticizing the quantity of the dish, a respectable Italian restaurant will always give a small portion of ravioli plate, if they are giving you tons, is a red flag. The portions were perfect to me btw.
Natalia C — Google review
My family and I enjoyed the wonderfully comfortable atmosphere, delicious authentic dishes, and the attentive service. I ordered the chefs special of lemon caper cod with spinach steamed rice. It was perfectly seasoned and fresh andnlight innflavor. We ordered dessert to share after we took advantage of sharing a bottle of wine with a reasonably priced corking fee. We are very greatful for such a memorable meal.
Jonell S — Google review
The Italian food here is simple and authentic. I did expect the chicken breast to be thick but the one served to me was rather flat. I filled up with bread. The wine servings are small, which I did ask the waiter to fill up the glass some more but i guess they go by small serving sizes. The experience was worth the try. Not sure if I would come back, but I would recommend others to try this place if they are curious.

frequent here often and never disappoints...my wife lives the lasagna and I love the Linguine alle vongole....although the specials are worth hearing before deciding. Had a delicious wine with dinner as pictured.

Itslianisdimo Trattoria is a hidden gem that captures the true essence of Italian dining. The highlight of my visit was their Neapolitan pizza—perfectly blistered crust, light yet chewy, with just the right balance of fresh tomato, mozzarella, and basil. You can taste the authenticity in every bite, as if it came straight out of a wood-fired oven in Naples. The Caprese salad was equally impressive: vibrant, juicy tomatoes paired with creamy mozzarella and a drizzle of rich olive oil. Simple, fresh, and beautifully plated, it set the tone for the meal and reminded me why Italian cuisine is so timeless. The warm atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even better. If you’re craving authentic Italian flavors done right, this trattoria should be at the top of your list.

The El Jefe Special is highly recommended, offering a pizza of your choice, six wings, and six Jefes balls at an affordable price.
I was very surprised, very happy! Today was my first time to try Pizzeria El Jefe, I am very impressed! The staff was very friendly the atmosphere was wonderful they were playing a good mix of music I really enjoyed, overall the atmosphere was festive and exciting but not overwhelming. The food was totally unexpected. I had a 12" La Verdulera Pizza that I added chicken to. It was delicious!! The crust was wonderful (I like that type of crust). The ingredients are very fresh and very flavorful. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area craving an excellent pizza with the Mexican Flair.

Came here unexpectedly, and wow super impressed. Not only is the food delicious but the service is amazing! I love that the large pizza comes with half and half portions. This not allowed me and my partner try two different flavors at once without having to buy two separate pizzas. I will be singing praises to my friends and bring more people over cause this place is yummy 😋

This was a fully different take on pizza. Great new flavors and fresh. I got half a chicken mango and then pork carnitas on the other side. I shall be going back again soon. Inside was very clean and plenty of space.

First time trying Mexican-style pizza and it did not disappoint me. I told the young gentleman who was taking the order that I was not familiar with their menu, and he patiently with so much passion went over the whole menu and helped me to choose one. The crust was delicious, with a perfect amount of red sauce and a generous amount of toppings. It even tasted better the day after. From now on it'll be my go-to pizza place in Chula Vista.

There was plenty of parking. Inside is loud, but lots of tables available on a Sunday at 11am. It took a while to get our food, but the servers were attentive with multiple drink refills. The traditional Eggs Benedict had only a little hollandaise sauce, but it was good. The Canadian bacon was cut thin like lunch meat. The eggs were overcooked and not runny. The green chilaquiles were very good, the eggs were cooked perfectly (I ordered over easy) and added carnitas.

Our visit had a minor hiccup when our main dishes were delayed. We were initially dissatisfied, but the way the situation was handled was fantastic. Guillermo (Manager) came over and apologized. Ordered: Pulled Pork Omelette - smoky moist pulled pork with perfectly cooked omelette with chipotle cream/cheese with well seasoned potatoes on the side. Enchiladas - flavorful and moist chicken. The poblano sauce, mozzarella, queso fresco topped with red onions is just delicious. Should have been 5/5 if I got the over medium eggs as I ordered but it was over hard. Breakfast Burger - my in-law likes her burger; well seasoned with crispy bacon. The meal itself was delicious, and the service recovery was excellent. We were impressed when we got comp on our meal. It completely turned our experience around and showed that this restaurant truly cares about its customers. Front/dining staff were all great. I guess the kitchen staff probably overwhelm during the time of our visit. Restaurant had a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely come back.

I’ve been told this place has a high wait time during the breakfast hours, so I was in the neighborhood for brunch (around 1pm on a Saturday) and found no wait at all, service was super helpful (Thank you Guillermo) and the food was very good, simple “CHILAQUILES VERDES” are served in the perfect portion. Oh, and there is a whole FREE parking structure in the back so no problem finding a spot.

It took less than 10 mins to order my food and for it to come out. Hot and fresh and the customer service was fast and accurate! Can’t wait to return. The grilled cheese taco thing was not that great. Should remove it from the combo box and replace it with a Mexican pizza and I’d be 100% more happy !! Other than that great food

I ordered a Mexican pizza and when me and my wife took a bite, the tortilla was bad and tasted sour with a funny aftertaste. This was my first time going to this location. Will not return although the tacos and burritos were good. Could have just been a bad batch.

Stafff was rude, they left my food to sit out without even calling my name. And when I take my order home. This is what I got? I paid almost six dollars for a corner or fries. Definitely not coming back, this was a ridiculous waste of money.

Shopping
Nestled in the heart of Chula Vista, Otay Ranch Town Center is a vibrant outdoor shopping haven that promises an unforgettable experience for visitors. With over 100 stores ranging from popular chain retailers to unique boutiques, shoppers can find everything from stylish apparel to home essentials. The center also boasts a state-of-the-art AMC Theater for movie enthusiasts and a delightful selection of restaurants perfect for refueling after a day of retail therapy.
We had a great experience at The Cheesecake Factory in Otay Ranch Town Center! The atmosphere was welcoming and lively, and the service was attentive from start to finish. The menu is huge, but everything we ordered was delicious and came out fresh and well-prepared. Portion sizes are generous. Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying the cheesecake, it was the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience, and I’d definitely come back again!

The mall has semi-higher end shops. The food court is very disappointing but there are a lot of options across the street. It's not often super busy, but when it is there's a ton of parking immediately available.

From Planet Fitness gym to yoga to boxing, there is a good number of active lifestyle businesses. It's nice to see some new restaurants are coming soon, but some have been under construction for a long time. Tuesday Farmer Markets are a nice addition to stroll the mall street.

Otay Ranch Mall is on of the best in Chula Vista in South San Diego California. It has every store you need in 1 place. Ulta, Sephora, Hollister, Apple, Tons of foodie places, BUT they just closed my fave "GREAT AMERICAN COOKIE" please bring it back! It was the only ice cream AND smoothie place in the mall. There is even a Best Buy. My other fave place to eat~Cheese Cake Factory is here. Don't worry the food court and other decent restaurants are scattered about the mall. Oh yeah, I love that there is an AMC Theatre here too when I need a movie fix. Check out Otay Ranch Mall Tonight😇💯

Ok I had always driven by this restaurant and thought "oh nice! This place looks great." I've had quite a few people tell me this restaurant has delicious food. It really does! Definitely suitable for vegans and vegetarians! Food was great. I loved the decor inside.

I love the farmers market and go all the time but I believe this mall needs more stores. Years ago it was way better but now it’s losing its spark, I feel like the only store I actually visit here is Barnes and Noble .

We decided to go and watch the Padres game at "Novo" Brazil restaurant at otay ranch, this was the first time for me and I really liked this place. It is very espacious with a very nice atmosphere, the waiters treated us very well and the food was delicious, Even though the place was packed there was enough space between the tables and the high ceilings allow air to flow well. I passed a good 5 hrs at this place, I highly recomend to you if you haven't been there to give it a try.

The customer service it was terrible they didn’t know how to manage my sandwich l ask them for a veggie/ vegetarian Sandwich and they treated me disrespectful and my sandwich it’ was soaked and wet put it so much oil very little salt and too much pepper and the sandwich was soaked and wet very bad l didn’t eat at all. My review is one star. The employee should be aware of the people sandwiches being mindful and patience.

This park is a great place to go for walks or have a picnic with a view of the mountains. It has a paved path that goes towards the neighborhood, as well as a trail that goes towards the mountains. It gets busy on weekends, so be prepared to wait in line.
Love this park so much. Also love all the trails around it. Such a pretty place to walk, run, or relax on a blanket.

A beautiful neighborhood park in Eastlake in Chula Vista. The park overlooks Otay Lake. It has lots of walking trails. A playground and a splash zone for the kiddos. It is well maintained and super clean. Lots of designated parking spots and street parking. There are also several large picnic gazebos with grills.

A MULTIFACETED OASIS: NATURE, CULTURE, AND RECREATION UNITE I walk through this park twice weekly from Salt Creek Recreation Center. And every time I see a different sunset, smell a new plant, and see various people. It's amazing to observe the melting pot of cultures enjoying the same beauty. The open scenery with no building obstructions provides a breathtaking backdrop for a serene escape. This setting also allows for fantastic open space, perfect for photography enthusiasts looking to capture the beauty of nature. What struck me most was the park's dedication to showcasing indigenous influence throughout the parks stone artifacts. It is a respectful honor of the area's history. It's worth mentioning that the park promotes responsible wildlife interaction, reminding visitors that rabbits are for seeing, not hunting. This respect for nature extended to the well-maintained walking and jogging trails that wind through the landscape, allowing for both leisurely strolls and invigorating runs. The park's crowning jewel was its beautiful lake and majestic mountains that provides a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and contemplation. This calm environment is recommended as an wellness break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For those seeking an active outing, the extensive space can easily accommodated family bbq's, parties, soccer matches, and volleyball games, making it an ideal spot for a fun-filled day with friends and family. In my opinion, this park truly stands out as a harmonious blend of natural beauty, cultural appreciation, and recreational opportunities. Whether you're looking for a relaxed time or an active outing, it offers something for everyone to enjoy. HIGH FIVES Pavement path wheelchair/motorized accessibility Always clean, no trash or graffiti Usually ample parking Otay Lake Views/Mountain Views "We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Mountain Hawk is a medium size l park nestled among local Chula Vista neighborhoods. The views are gorgeous, and it really is a beautiful, peaceful place for reflection and to start the day. They have something for everyone including gazebos, grills, a playground, and an open field. The walking trail, which is gravel, winds up the mountain on the back side of the nearby homes. They are pet friendly with cleaning stations all around and even have a pet fountain. While they do have restrooms, they do not have doors on the stalls and the seats are quite low, so please be aware . This is one of the most beautiful parks in the area and is definitely worth a visit.

This is a Great Park to bring your family, Sit and relax, exercise, fly a drone, play Pokemon Go (yes some of us still play it). There are trails for walking and running. There are 3 Gazebos you can rent. There are cement tables all over the place. There are play areas for Small kids, and even a water fountain that comes out of the ground. And the View Of the lake is Great! I love going there sometimes and just look over the water. Check out this park its Great!.

Live music venue
Performing arts theater
The North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre was built in 1997 and is a 20,500-seat outdoor venue that is adjacent to Aquatica San Diego. It is currently owned and operated by Live Nation. The amphitheater has hosted a variety of music genres, most notably country, rock, metal and EDM.
Great venue for a concert! We came here to see Creed and had an awesome experience. The sound quality was excellent, security was well organized, and there were plenty of food options. The outdoor seating made it even more enjoyable, with clean restrooms and easy access to merchandise stands. Definitely a great spot for a live show!

Great venue! Definitely recommend getting there early to events for parking. We got VIP parking which was clutch got out of there in about 20 minutes. We saw the Jonas Brothers and the production was phenomenal. We sat in section 203 which is ideal for views, being in the middle, and sound quality. Restrooms were well maintained, food and drinks were very pricey but that’s most venues at this point. Overall great experience!

Been coming here for years now. Buncha different shows owned by a buncha different company's. North Island Credit Union Amphitheater isn't doing too bad. Still had fun and got to see our long favorite artist since we were a kids Billy Idol!! Played all the hits, and some really cool new songs from the new album. Rebel yell came on and the whole Amphitheater stood up and everyone was dancing and singing like they were 20 again. Best part is its an open sky theater. Keeps us cool with all those fans crammed together. Lots to drink, things to eat. Plenty of parking that comes with the purchase of a ticket. Drinks were a little pricey. $25 for a lemonade cocktail. $7 for a soda can. You know same ol same spending for a night of fun. Not much of a personal connection with the artist but usually the artist they have are huge and need all the space. Billy Idol was a blast!

I had an amazing time at the twenty one pilots concert. I was in section 203 row P and the view of the stage was great! It's a big amphitheatre but has a smaller vibe to it that I really enjoyed! Would 100% come see another concert here. I got dropped off. Parking seemed kinda crazy. Sound quality was amazing. Finding my seat was easy. There were a lot of food and drink options.

Had a wonderful time at the Nelly / JaRule concert! Perfect night cool weather. Easy parking, easy entrance. Bag check, Ladies bring your clear bags for quicker check. We rented chairs to sit on the lawn. Had drinks before and during the concert. You could also rent out a blanket. Restrooms were clean. Loved this experience and would visit again in the future.

I want to give a huge shoutout to security guards Ray G & Adam with LiveNation! From the moment we arrived at the Lil Wayne concert, Ray went above and beyond to make sure my daughter and I were taken care of. He was nothing but kind, respectful, and accommodating. When people tried to block our view, Ray and Adam immediately stepped in and made sure we could enjoy the show without any issues. They treated us with the highest regard and their professionalism really stood out in such a busy and exciting environment. What touched me most was how both Ray and Adam went out of their way to make my birthday evening extra special. It’s rare to come across someone in their role who genuinely cares about the experience of every guest, but they absolutely did. Because of Ray and Adam my daughter and I had a night to remember and I can’t thank them enough. Ray and Adam are a true example of what great customer service and hospitality should look like. This venue was lucky to have them last night!

I took my two kids there for Grey Day 2025 to sit on the lawn. Definitely a different experience from going to Grey Day 2024 in Phoenix. Even though we were far from the stage, our cell phones were able to zoom in for some good pictures and it didn't feel too far. The sound was great! The freedom to move on the lawn without confined seat space was also awesome. I liked that the venue had free parking and a lot of it with the dirt backlots. I aso appreciated that we could bring in a sealed bottle of water for each person. The one star was knocked off because leaving the concert from the furthest parking lot took nearly 2 hours. Also, they lacked the space for more merch stands so we waited in line for merch for over an hour. I only saw two stands. Luckily, we could hear the concert well from the line.

Chula Vista Bayfront Park

Parking lot
Chula Vista Bayfront Park is a rapidly expanding waterfront area that spans 535 acres of undeveloped industrial land. The plans include creating homes, recreation areas, resorts, and an ecological zone to preserve local wildlife. The park hosts various events like car shows and offers picnic tables for visitors to enjoy takeout meals while taking in the scenic views.
I just moved much closer to the Mexico border and was looking for a park. Bayfront Park is exactly what I was looking for. It has plenty of grassy area, so if you want to spread out in the grass for some grounding, a picnic with your boo, or to stretch your limbs, it's a great place to do that. Also has a nice sided paved area that stretches around the park for walking, jogging or however you choose to get physical. I watched the sunset and it was beautiful. I was able to see it clearly And watch it sink into the ocean. There's also some beautiful vegetation to admire. I did see a skunk in the evening. It was just out and about in the grass no fear. Didn't spray while I was there, thank God. The little guy didn't bother anyone and was very cute, although I was indeed aware and afraid of it special power lbs🤣. I think anyone that goes to this park will definitely enjoy it. Easy to find parking.

A very pleasant and relaxed place to have a little BBQ while getting your feet wet without the hassle of a swimming pool. And seeing every other boat go by, it was a spectacle hard to discribe but entertaining to watch!!! 😃.

Great place to walk oJust don't let your dog off leash or you can get a ticket $100+. There are lots of squirrels there and my dog tends to pick up fleas. but the view is great the ocean air amazing.. it was nice to see so many people there just relaxing.. lots of wild life there too besides the squirrels you can see the blue heron that nests at the end of the cul de sac and occasionally skunks..

Great car shows this past year. From bikes to trucks and everything in between these events have surpassed all existing activities for me. Drop all you're doing and check them out! It's definitely a getaway to chillin' at the park on a Sunday afternoon. Bring that beat back and drift on a memory. Don't miss out on our latest park shows. For future info please check back in, follow up, then steer in the right direction. I heard it through the grapevine so stop by, look and listen for yourself👍🚗 🚘 🚔 🏎 🚓 🚕 🥳 🎉 🪅 🎊 🥳 🎉 🎶🎵

It’s a nice park, but changes throughout the area will make it so much nicer. The convention center is closer to completion so the focus will shift out to the open spaces and rehab of the most neglected areas.

Very beautiful location. Facilities are limited. Great place for a hike or a walk. Facilities are better on the strand side of the bay. But the state parks charge a fee. If you can afford to drive to the strand and pay the state park fee it's a better experience. You can even choose which side of the bay you want the oceanside or the Bayside.

Friendship Park

4.4
(1626)

Park
Friendship Park is a unique beachside meeting point located on the US-Mexico border, offering a space for residents from both countries to come together. However, the park is divided by a large fence that extends into the sea to prevent illegal border crossings. On the Mexican side, visitors can admire murals and artworks while enjoying ocean views. The park is open only on weekends, with limited hours and an entry fee for parking.
If you want an adventure this is a nice hike. There is a bit of a walk as it is 1 ¾ mile hike to the ocean and border wall. Avoid the water as it is usually sewage contaminated. It is worth the view although a little depressing. It is pretty deserted on the USA side but on the Mexico side it is a busy and crowded beach with onlookers from platforms and through the fence. Border patrol watches intently from hill top. And a light house is also perched in the hill.
Robert — Google review
Very pretty but all the signs, heart monuments and statues have been defaced and spray painted on. It’s smelly and trash is thrown all over the ground. The vibe is fun and full of life on the weekend
Sandra A — Google review
Almost all of the photos are of the Mexican side of the border. The US side is a crappy park area with no maintenance on a beautiful nature preserve/estuary. $5 entry and don't expect much, check it off the list worth it. If you ever want your own private beach there are miles. Just don't go in the water, the whole TJ sewage thing.
San D — Google review
Unfortunately road access to the Park is closed off, so it's about a 40 minute hike from the nearest parking spot. Still it was quite a unique experience seeing where the border wall meets the ocean(just don't get too close, "La Migra" is watching).
D M — Google review
Interesting place to visit. I was very courious is possible to see the border from the USA side. Yes its possible. Access to the park costs $5 and you can stay there to about 6pm. What is interesting 10 people at once can get into place between two fences to meet others people from mexican side.
Krzysztof H — Google review
It’s a great idea that of a park where two distinct countries can come together. We parked and rode our bikes in. It’s maybe around two miles to the park where you are so close to the border wall. On the way in you regularly see helicopters and Border suvs on patrol. On the US side it’s very quiet, but looking through the wall to the Mexican side it’s lively with music , people mingling and the smell of carne asada. I was joking with my family that the border guards must buy food through the wall from the Mexicans. I know It must be hard for them to be on the border smelling that great food all day. There are signs that say to be advised of sewage contaminated water on the road. You have to go off the road and through the grass to avoid it. I’m sure very soon they’ll take care of that since it seems they are improving things like a fence throughout the park. Overall it was a nice experience. I’m sure it’s a better experience on the Mexican side.
Daniel S — Google review
The Friendship Circle and Bi- National Garden was closed when we visited but you’re still able to walk around the US side of the park. While visiting, we saw someone climb over the border and get arrested by Border Control. We spoke to a border control agent and he said it happens multiple times a day and to be cautious when we’re hiking in that area.

Savoie Italian Eatery offers a luxurious setting for enjoying a fusion menu of French and Italian favorites. The restaurant features an enticing menu of handcrafted Italian cuisine, including a mouthwatering selection of pastas, salads, pizza, seafood, poultry, and steaks.
Still really delicious. Enjoyed the Steak Frites a lot. Our boys devoured the calamari. Great service from Yesenia. Beautiful restaurant with great ambiance.

This was the worst and most traumatizing experience ever! When we first got there we had to look for someone to sit us down. We made reservations but still had to wait. We didn’t have water or bread til 15 mins after being seated! Nobody greeted us! We waited a whole 1hr for our food we didn’t make a big deal because we thought it was going to be fresh and this is what we got raw salmon with sauce over it. It was my birthday so I was very upset so we just left I couldn’t stomach to eat anything else.

Visited for Father’s Day and enjoyed an afternoon meal. Server was friendly and we revived quick service, he warned us about a large party beginning their meal and got us in before they placed their order. Cocktails were mediocre, steak frites was a little fatty and the photographer produced low quality images but we still left with two. There is a DJ starting up at around 7 and would recommend coming in earlier if looking for a quiet environment. Overall, hip, modern restaurant worth trying.

Second Review (Brunch) We tried Savoie's brunch and for sure we are coming back. Ordered: Souffle Pancakes - fluffy and delicious pancakes with whipped cream/berries. 5/5 Savoie Benedict - perfect runny eggs the way I like it. Creamy, rich and buttery hollandaise sauce. I wished the crab/lobster/shrimp mixture had more seasoning on it. 4/5 Classic Breakfast - nothing special. Two over easy eggs, crispy bacon and well seasoned breakfast potatoes! 4/5 Cappuccino- 3/5 Orange Juice - 5/5 Highly recommended with their welcoming atmosphere, outstanding customer service and delicious food! First Review: First time here and we were surprised how good/delicious most of the dishes we ordered. We made a reservation for a Saturday dinner. Ordered: Lobster Ravioli - marinara sauce was so creamy and delicious. I wish they have two (2) more ravioli's on it since it's loaded with sauce. Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo - nothing special with the dish. I wish there's more sauce like the ravioll. Braised Polpo - right portion size and tender octopus. Dressing was good and balance. It compliments perfectly with the main ingredient, "octopus". So close with the polpos we had in Lisbon during our vacation. Highly recommended! Short Rib Lasagna - Al dente pasta plus well seasoned/juicy short rib and perfect ratio of cheese and sauce made it the best dish we had during our visit. For sure will order this again on our next visit. Most restaurants we ve visited offers free bread. Their bread is good but be prepared to pay $7.... Great and attentive customer service. Ambiance and decors looks great. No issues with parking. Savoie is highly recommended if you are looking for a great Italian food.

Got here ten minutes before brunch was going to end, but we were able to get our order in time. The food was really good. I had pancakes and they forgot to put the strawberry mascarpone, but they brought a side of it. It was delicious, as were the pancakes. The drinks were also good. They had a bunch of specialty drinks. The bartender was nice and answered any questions we had.

Many of the 5 star reviews were only to get a free desert once you show them you left a 5 star review. We have eaten here 6x and each was different. We order the same thing most visits a Carne pizza (no mushrooms) and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. The first 2 visits there were no onions or bell peppers (1 little sliver of green, see picture) on the pizza. The 3rd visit I asked the waitress if they can make it as listed without the mushrooms. It was made properly. The owner came over and introduced himself amd said the pizza would be made as I ordered it. I showed him pictures of the 2 previous visits and he agreed they were not correct. The 4th visit the toppings were not as much, but still met the menu. The 5th visit the onions and bell peppers were very limited, as in not all slices had veggies. The 6th visit the crust was made very thin and was soggy, this was the worst one so far. It was just not a quality pizza. Decent price of $21, if they could be more consistent we'd probably eat here more often. The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo decent for each visit, but the chicken portion varied from a few bites to so much chicken (in a good way). The price was a bit high for the portion size, the portion size is what I would expect for a kids size. No bread for that price either. The online menu says the price is $25... We usually only drink water with squeeze of lemon or lime. The lemons and limes are not very fresh, likely cut days prior. The limes have browning at the cut edges, indicating the were not cut that day. Some staff are very friendly and make this more of an experience over just eating out. Some staff seemed very strict and robotic in their time at the table, that just seemed very awkward. Overall the place seemed clean each visit. They Parmesan is store bought powdered that is served in a ramekin, it is often just clumped together, so use a fork to mix it. To me real Italian food would have fresh grated Parmesan cheese. Maybe head to O.G. for that and bread sticks! The free desert for a 5 star review was a Creme Brulee. It was not good, just tasted of sugar and not worth getting for free. The 1st picture of pizza and pasta together, and the dessert was the first visit. The rest were from this past weekend. Give it a try, you may get the good chef!

Rubio's Coastal Grill is a delightful beach-themed restaurant that specializes in Baja-style fish tacos and a variety of Mexican-inspired seafood dishes. Over the years, many patrons have enjoyed their meals here, often highlighting the friendly customer service that strives to rectify any order mishaps. The convenience of ordering through their app ensures that your food is hot and ready for pickup, making it an ideal choice for busy diners.
Rubio's is great for quick and delicious Mexican style seafood cuisine. Some of their specials are seasonal. Among our whole family, we've probably tried almost everything on the menu, and we have yet to find a dish we didn't like. Relatively quick service. Edited to add: They're pretty careful about customizations for allergies. Vegan customizations are available now also.

Summed up, not worth it at all. I said I hadn't been here before and was still looking when a lady walked ahead of me, I said go for it I am still looking. Low quality and very little flavor and of the 4 salsas at the salsa bar were all bland. I'm very white and this place is not good Mexican food. I ordered a chicken burrito and chips. The burrito was just soft, the chicken, fries, avocado, all of it was simply soft, not much texture to anything. My chips were the last bits of crumbs from the bag. My son got a kids quesadilla, fries (extra $.25 at that), apple sauce, and drink. I asked if they had some simple tacos, he said the 2 types of street tacos and I said sure 2 of each. I didn't know 4 "street tacos" would be $21.... like really?? I go to get the salsas and see 6 empty trays on the counter, as I am a disabled Vet I use a cane to walk, and not wanting to make multiple trips from the salsa bar to the table I grabbed a try. The guy that took our order says I can't have that tray and they don't give out trays. I hold up my cane and said I don't walk very well and didn't want to spill or make multiple trips. He gave me another tray to use and said again they don't give out trays to use here. Our food comes and the tacos looked poor then I looked at the receipt and was even more let down at the price vs quality. My son's kids meal is in a to go bag. I asked for a plate so he could eat in with me. I go grab 2 spoons for salsa and my son's apple sauce, both were not clean at all. I do not see any reason to ever return to this entire restaurant chain. Even the floors are pretty dirty all over.

Total rip off. Did not get everything it said it came with. I ordered a pick up order and had no time to check my food. When I got home I realized my cilantro lime bowl had NO avocado and my shrimp bow had 1 piece of romaine lettuce!!!

We order dinner from Rubio’s quite often through the app. It’s always hot and ready for pickup as soon as I finish the order and head out of the house. They are always incredibly friendly when I walk in. My favorites are the gourmet shrimp tacos and California bowl. My son loves the original fish tacos and their beans and cheese. I also love their new rewards system so I’m incentivized to eat there more often. Thanks!

Went for Taco Tuesday and was told by the person at the counter only the fish tacos were on special, not the Mahi tacos, only the fish tacos. 😳🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ Also my Keto fish taco had corn salsa dumped all over both of them...

Ordered ahead in the app. My order was ready and waiting upon my arrival. Oddly, the same meal (a build - your - own tacos kids meal) came with different filling choices than the same meal ordered at a different (Carlsbad) Rubio's location. Don't get me wrong - the citrus rice is tasty - but for building tacos, I believe I prefer the chopped romaine lettuce (available at the Carlsbad location) to the citrus rice that was the companion to the grilled chicken and shredded cheese to fill the very small, but very delicious flour tortillas I chose. There is no option in the app to add additional orders of extra warm tortillas, so I requested to add some on to my order inside the restaurant. They are a little bit pricey for how tiny they are but boy, are they delicious. They toast them up fresh when you order them. You can add all sorts of other extras and add-ons in the app, though. I added an extra individual fish fillet. A small fillet, perfectly beer battered, not greasy at all and perfectly prepared - lightly fried to perfection - so light, tasty and satisfying! A little squeeze of fresh lemon or lime slice (free add-on from the Salsa Bar) for $2 it rounded out my meal just right. Seriously, they should do a fish n chips plate because they have the preparation on those fillets NAILED!!

It was slow, so the food came quickly. The manager was very polite and apologized for having me wait. I've missed Rubios ever since I moved to VA 8 years ago, so the food, as always, was delicious.

Out of a couple years of going to this place for Mexican food my honest opinion is that this place is pretty good you just have to know what you like. Have they messed up on my order before yes, have they not giving me everything I've ordered before yes, but if you go to restaurants long enough they all will make a mistake at some point. They do have a really good good customer service that will try to make things right if you fill out one of their surveys. Out of what's available in that area they are pretty good as far as quality and customer service in my opinion.

Mexican restaurant
El Pollo Loco is a beloved fast-food chain that specializes in mouthwatering Mexican classics, particularly their signature fire-grilled chicken. If you find yourself near the H Transit Center, make sure to stop by this location on H St and Oaklawn. The staff here are known for their exceptional customer service; Jackie, in particular, has received rave reviews for her helpfulness and recommendations—like the delicious chipotle guacamole burrito that many have enjoyed.
Highly recommend coming to this Pollo Loco off H st and Oaklawn near the H Transit Center. Jackie's customer service went above and beyond when she assisted me with the app. I asked what burrito she would recommend and got the chipotle guacamole burrito. It was really mouth watering. Overall the food and service is a 5 star. Ask for Jackie if you get the chance honestly great person. Thanks for your amazing service.

I would have giving you a better rating, yet when I asked for the wing lovers meal, I clearly saw how the practically picked off the grill the less eye appealing wings. (It’s like they try to give you the items that are over cooked) to make it the wings meal. Otherwise they tell you they don’t have “extra wings” to give you. Also, the bathrooms are disgusting! Very poor maintenance.

The atmosphere is still lovely and relaxing, and the staff were absolutely wonderful — warm, professional, and attentive. Huge credit to the team working on the floor. That said, it’s really disappointing to see how the corporate side has changed things. Portion sizes have been drastically reduced, and both the quality and quantity of the food have gone downhill — all while prices have gone way up. It no longer feels like you're paying for a satisfying meal, but rather for the brand name and decor. I truly hope corporate leadership listens to customer feedback, because the frontline staff are doing a fantastic job — but those top-down decisions are undermining the entire experience.

My review is a bit late, but I haven't been to El Pollo Loco in probably 10+ years, why, I have no idea myself. But that day I went to the drive through with my mom. The customer service this girl had, was so professional and appreciated. I asked for her name afterwards because she did such a great job. Her name is STAR, I worked at a restaurant for about 4 years and this is the customer service I gave. I was impressed by her suggestions and the way my mom and I kept on getting convinced on adding more to our menu list even when we only came for 2 things, we ended up leaving with about 5 things. So STAR if you see this, girl keep doing what you are doing, even though there is a few in the world that can be, let's say unappreciated in their lives and take it out on the nice people, you keep working hard.

This is a small Pollo Loco. We had a problem ordering on the kiosk but the lady behind the counter was very helpful and solved our problem. The food is good, the service is good, but you don't want to eat in, especially when they are busy.

I must say, I haven't been disappointed yet by El Pollo Loco. They make very good americanized Mexican food. Seasoned well, hot to order, fresh ingredients, and very tasty. Their portion sizes are fair. They do catering too, which many people use for b-day parties, company functions, etc.

Ramen restaurant
Sushi restaurant
Khanya Ramen And Sushi is a Japanese restaurant in San Diego that offers a wide variety of menu options, including handcrafted noodles and various flavors of ramen. The establishment also serves sushi and other non-fish options. Customers have praised the exceptional customer service, with waitstaff being knowledgeable and attentive. Despite some feedback on the ramen broth needing improvement, many have enjoyed the delicious food, such as the tempura and sushi.
Excellent Japanese food in San Diego. Great service. The Tempura was really good. Crunchy with the right amount of softness inside while not being chewy. Ramen was pretty good as well. It could use some more heat as the ramen wasn’t boiling hot just how I like it. We came here hoping to charge for free on a destination charger but it was full. But to our surprise, the food was excellent.

Just came in today for dinner since it was raining and this hit the spot! Not too many people maybe because of the rain. We were seated right away, friendly staff. We ordered the karaage chicken, premium khanya tonkatsu and tonkatsu regular. The karaage was good, nice and crispy. We had to ask for more sauce though cause we were gonna definitely need more. Both ramen were good, with thin noodles, large in size and we had to take the rest home. Tons of toppings. The broth was thick and oily. If we don't feel like driving all the way to convoy, this is a good spot!

It's been our go-to-place for sushi in East Lake for the past few months. It has a mellow but chilled atmosphere with great customer service by Jay and his crew and man, Aquino, the chef runs the kitchen literally like a master! Definitely going back for Saporo and fresh spicy tuna rolls or the Hawaiian with fresh lemon slices on top! A hidden, must try gem in East Lake!
Gamaliel M — Google review
Just wanted to clarify that I only had the sushi and didn't try the ramen. The restaurant is called "Ramen & Sushi," but it seems like sushi is more of a secondary offering there. They primarily serve basic sushi rolls and don't have more traditional options like sashimi or nigiri. Once again the location is called RAMEN and sushi so you should probably stick with the Ramen.
B — Google review
One reason why I love their ramen is because it has vegetables, and not all ramen restaurants includes vegetables. I had the reguakr ramen but ask for extra bena sproud. The restaurant atmosphere look more like a bar / cook hangout spot. If you go therr during lunch is dead, which is perfect because then you get extra faster service. The waitress was kind n gave me good service. Their ramen noodles are thinner than average.
Brenda M — Google review
The homemade ramen noodles are excellent. We order two of the soups and they were good enough, but not inspired. I also recommend the kaarage chicken appetizer which tastes much better than it looks. The atmosphere is post-apocalyptic (black walls, black leather furniture, a small open kitchen, and punk rock music). Well suited to a younger set.
Tom B — Google review
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel like people should know what to expect. This is hands down one of the worst ramen places I’ve ever been to. I went when they first opened and the food was bad then—3 years later, I gave it another shot, and somehow it was even worse. The staff all looked extremely young, like no one was over 18. It felt like there was no adult supervision or proper management. The ramen toppings were cold, both was room temperature and the meat had a sour taste that made it hard to eat. The meat also was super thick with alot of fat, I never seen Ramen served like that. They gave me ranch with my calamari like serious,It was genuinely unpleasant. The only positive thing I can say is that they stay open late—but honestly, I’d rather go to Denny’s at 11pm. than come back here. That says a lot.

Best ramen in the area! We come here whenever we miss Japan ramen. My daughter loves the shoyu ramen, she can finish the whole bowl and she’s a picky eater, so we keep coming back! One suggestion is play more relaxing type of music instead of upbeat. Other than that, this is our go-to ramen place in Eastlake area.

Sesame Place San Diego is a delightful family-friendly amusement park that brings the beloved world of Sesame Street to life. This vibrant destination features an array of exciting rides and attractions, including splashy water slides like Bert's Topsy Turvy Tunnels and Snuffy's Spaghetti Slides. Families can also enjoy Big Bird’s Beach, a massive wave pool perfect for splashing around. With its 17 acres dedicated to fun, this unique park offers both aquatic adventures and dry rides designed for all ages.
What a neat place. Loved the shops and setup as you're walking into the park/site. Plenty of shops to purchase anything you may have forgotten at home. Towels, cups, hats, glasses, swimwear, souvenirs. Food & drinks. What a wonderful place. There are rides for the kids to enjoy! But we came to beat the heat and there is plenty of water activities. Kiddie area with plenty of low water squirts. Lazy river for those who feel like drifting. And the bigger water play area for everyone even parents. We went on a Wednesday during summer break. The site was busy but not overcrowded. Had a great time and will visit again. The staff was very friendly, and entrance was a smooth process with bag checking in place.

I love the smaller size of this park because it’s not too overwhelming or too crowded. There are a lot of water attractions for toddlers and rides too. Because it’s a smaller park, my daughter was able to meet most of the characters. They were so nice and patient with my daughter. They even welcomed a very long hug from my toddler. I would say this is a huge perk, especially for sensitive or kids on the spectrum. She was able to get brief but meaningful 1:1 attention from the characters who were walking around. Thank you!

visited the park on Tuesday, August 19. Lots of life jackets hanging for free for children. There were few people, no queues. We went to all the children's attractions quickly. The park is clean and tidy. Three big slides were closed. All the other three or four adult slides were open. Of the minuses, I did not like the inattention and lack of empathy on the part of the instructor in the children's area to some children, my shy son could not get to the green water slide in the children's area in order to go down it, other children ran in front of him, pushed my son aside and stood in front of him and my son always remained behind the queue, and the instructor standing there did not react in any way, the children slid down the slide, ran again and again pushed my son aside, the instructor did not observe the order of the queue. Then I suggested that my son slide down the pink slide, because there was no one there. Then when I had already climbed the slide, she again did not observe the queue order and then I told her: "No, my son is first!" I had to repeat this phrase to her three times, because my son let everyone pass and should not let anyone pass again, although the instructor decided that he should wait again. But everything should be fair and it was about 2:30 pm

The most amazing time! My 2 year old loved it. She was able to get on 4 rides and then she got to play in the water park. The lazy river was so relaxing it made her take a good long nap so we had to leave. She woke up screaming, “Elmo! Elmo!” Her way of saying she wanted to go back already lol Sesame Place will definitely be added to our annual vacation from now on just like Disney. Tip get the all day dinning pass. It pays for itself. The bacon burger, chicken tenders and pizza were good!

Took my baby who is just starting to walk. There is not as much “toys” or random spigots that shoot water out for his age like at Knotts Soak city. At Soak city they have a toddler section and a kid section. I was hoping the same for here but basically no toddler section. We sat by the wave pool and all the chairs are sitting in sand. Sand and kids do not go hand-in-hand. There also isn’t many places to eat so you will have to eat in your chairs… in the sand… I’m only comparing this to soak city because it’s been some time since I’ve gone to other water parks. There was lots of broken or dirty places and pieces here at Sesame place such as the lazy river there was trash inside the river and along the bushes. I feel at the other waterpark. It is often being kept clean by different janitors walking around. I didn’t see employees like that here instead I seen them standing at store entrances assuming we attempting to prevent theft. We ate chicken tenders and fries and they were fine. Overpriced as expected. However, they didn’t have ranch kind of odd in my opinion. The restrooms here were dirty and again, nobody maintaining them throughout the day. The employee at the guard shack could not really identify the difference between a VIP parking and “up close parking” General parking was way too expensive for this type of park Some of the water tipping mechanisms were broken so they didn’t spill out. Very limited umbrellas also in the seating area. In general, I feel like this place was small and dirty and too expensive for what they’re offering. I understand not everybody has a new walking baby like myself however, for me it just was not worth it at all. The most positive thing I can say is I really really truly appreciate the relax policy on bringing food in. We did bring some snacks in for my baby with ease.

First time at this water park, we went yesterday July 5th! It wasn’t over crowded. We rented the Cabana next to the water wave pool. I believe 2 of the water slides were closed but everything else was opened! My 6 year old had a blast! (His favorite was the lazy river) 😜 We did not try any of the food from here. I brought sandwiches from Sprouts & water. The Vodka Seltzer was $17
Ana C — Google review
I am writing to share my recent platinum pass experience which unfortunately fell far below expectations. During my visit, the park was extremely overcrowded to the point where it was nearly impossible to move or enjoy any of the attractions. There was no space to walk, no place to relax or sit down, and even the lazy river was filled beyond capacity—so much so that people could barely float or move. I have photos showing over a thousand people crowded into the lazy river alone. To make matters worse, the lazy river was also shockingly dirty and poorly maintained, which was both disappointing and concerning from a health and safety standpoint. Given the very high ticket prices for Platinum pass I expected a far more organized and enjoyable experience. There seems to be a serious lack of crowd control and no visible limit on the number of guests allowed in. This made the entire visit feel chaotic and stressful rather than fun and relaxing. I strongly urge your team to consider implementing strict capacity limits and to enhance cleanliness protocols. Guests deserve a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they can actually enjoy the facilities they paid for. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see improvements in the future

Very enjoyable for all ages. I received two bonus ticket to visit the park for free, we just had to pay for parking. The drive was far but it was worth it. Loved the wave pool and the lazy river. Memorial park
Park
Memorial Park, located just outside downtown Chula Vista, is a beautiful urban park and concert venue that features the iconic Memorial Bowl with seating for approximately 700 people. This historic park was built during the Great Depression and has become a popular spot for weddings and other celebrations. The park offers a sinuous path through various types of trees, a majestic agora, lush green grassy areas, and shady spots to relax.
It’s through work that I discovered Memorial Park, which restored my faith for “little holes in the wall”, especially in less advantaged neighborhoods. It’s sinuous path through various type of trees, it’s majestic agora, it’s flamboyant green grass and all the areas offering shadows to lay under or a tiny bridge to take it all in, Memorial Park is a rare gem that offers to all a chance to be in touch with nature and enjoy a moment of peace and serenity, away from traffic, commerces and the city’s buzzing. It’s worth the drive if you live in a more agglomerated neighborhood of San Diego! Just bring a book, a towel to lay on and a snack, and the murmure of the leaves in the wind will do the rest.
Charlotte R — Google review
Memorial Park on Third Avenue is hands down my favorite park in Chula Vista. It’s well-maintained and constantly cleaned, and I have to give a special shoutout to the gardeners who do a fantastic job keeping the park beautiful. One of the standout features is the open, ungated dog park. It’s bright and sunny, with lovely grassy knolls that make it perfect for laying out a blanket while your dog runs around and enjoys the open space. If your dog is on the wild side, just keep in mind that there are no fences to contain them. Fortunately, there are plenty of trash cans for easy waste disposal, which helps keep the area clean. I do wish there were more benches throughout the park to sit and take in the scenery. If you’re lucky, you might even spot wild parrots flying through the park and perching in the treetops—it’s an amazing sight (and sound) to experience! There is a public restroom, but unfortunately, it’s not the cleanest, so I’d avoid using it if possible. On the plus side, the amphitheater is a great addition to the park, and you can often catch small events there, especially on Sundays. Another highlight is the lively farmers market held on the street parallel to the park. It’s a fantastic event that draws in a great crowd and adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the area. Overall, Memorial Park is a gem in downtown Chula Vista—a great place to relax, bring your dog, and enjoy the community events. With a few small improvements, like more seating and cleaner restrooms, it could be even better!

Chula Vista Marina is a picturesque waterfront destination offering a variety of activities and amenities. The Galley at the Marina Restaurant provides casual dining with live entertainment, making it perfect for any occasion. Boaters can take advantage of easy access to San Diego Bay from the marina and RV park, while also enjoying fishing and whale-watching opportunities. The area boasts stunning views and outdoor experiences such as boating, fishing, and kayaking.
Overcast today , all day but still was nice!!! I enjoy coming here anytime if year, I seen some pelicans out today there! The seagulls as usual, people feed those things and the come in packs. They are like vultures!!!! But other than that, it's a nice place to come , walk or seat and chill out. Very peaceful, never had an issue there. They have bathrooms , it's always clean and plenty of parking.

There is nothing wrong with this marina. The reason I am giving it one star is because it was purchased by a big corporation that owns multiple marinas. That may be okay with some and for them it is fine. But I don’t like the corporate takeover of America. It sucks the character out of our environment. This used to be a friendly and personable marina. No more. That being said, there aren’t many friendly and personable marinas left in San Diego. So if you absolutely positively have to slip your boat in San Diego, go ahead and check this one out. I’m looking elsewhere.

An annoying local sitting at the bar made this visit less than perfect... seemed to be a friend of the bartender. Next time I'll move to the other end of the bar... Mexican restaurant
Talavera Azul in Chula Vista is a charming, family-owned Mexican restaurant that offers a delightful breakfast experience. The restaurant is known for its clean and hygienic environment, as well as its freshly squeezed orange juice. The breakfast menu features a wide variety of traditional dishes and savory burritos, with the Huevos Rancheros being highly recommended. The artistic Mexican-themed ambiance creates a welcoming atmosphere, while the authentic flavors and impressive quality of the food leave patrons satisfied.
Very few places capture what it's like to experience a true kitchen full of loving grandma's making sunday breakfast for the family, here you embody that feeling. This place transports you to Mexico, waking up with a smell of coffee with cinnamon and piloncillo where the first sip will make you feel it's going to be ok. Then the food comes, a burst of colors and flavors that turns into a pleasurable orgy taste in your mouth. Pictured are the combo plates, Talavera omelette with red chilaquiles and spinach and mushroom omelette with red chilaquiles. Anything you order from this menu will be delicious and bring that same feeling 100% of the time. Your search stops here. If you're wondering where to eat breakfast look no further. And no, I was not paid for this. This is a review left from the heart after multiple times of coming here and leaving with a smile on my face and just that right feeling in my gut that life is worth living

Some of the best Mexican breakfast we've had! We both got chilaquiles since it's what they're known for: one with Chipotle sauce and one with the traditional red chilaquiles sauce. Super delicious food, great environment, excellent service; highly recommend! Just beware that it's super popular, so the line can get pretty long, but it's well worth the wait!

Talavera Azul is in a prime location, right on the main strip of downtown Chula Vista, just by the big sign. It’s in a lively area with plenty of street parking, and there’s also a huge free parking garage right by the park, which makes parking super convenient. The park itself adds to the aesthetic beauty of the location—you can look out the restaurant windows and see the bright greenery, which makes for a really pleasant atmosphere while you eat. The inside of the restaurant is unique and nicely designed. It’s bright, clean, and mostly white, but the touches of ceramic blue throughout give it a stylish and inviting feel. You can tell they put thought into the décor, which adds to the experience. One thing to note—this place is popular. It’s always busy, and if you come with a party of three or more, expect a long wait. I had to wait about 40 minutes, but I’ve heard that at peak times, it can be even longer. They do have some seating outside, which helps a bit, but if you’re in a hurry, this might not be the spot for you. The staff is friendly, but they are constantly on the move, so don’t expect much personal attention. As for the food, I ordered the Chilaquiles Divorciados, which I always like to see on a menu. It’s great for a first-time visit because you get to try two different styles of chilaquiles. Both were tasty and authentic, but I wouldn’t say they blew me away. I’ve definitely had better chilaquiles in San Diego. The café de olla was okay, but it didn’t wow me. I’ve had richer, more flavorful versions elsewhere. Overall, Talavera Azul is a solid spot, especially if you’re in the area and looking for an authentic Mexican breakfast or brunch. The location, ambiance, and food are all good, but with the long wait times and food that didn’t quite stand out, I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way for it again.

Wow. Wow . Wow.. it can't get more authentic than this place.. food was delicious.. service on point incredible.. guys beware the portions are big i truly think one plate serves 2... But i have to be honest the 9nly reason I rated this place 4 starts is du to parking was terrible and the wait to get a table .. once your 8nside 5 stars all the way

I ordered the Talavera Breakfast Combination, which lets you choose your preferred omelette. I went with the La Espadaña Omelette, filled with mushrooms, green pepper slices, jack cheese, and ham, then topped with their signature chipotle cream sauce. It’s served with chilaquiles, your choice of sauce; I chose the poblano. It also comes with a generous side of potatoes and beans. The portions were huge and everything was absolutely delicious. I even had enough to take home. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s definitely worth a visit. Although there was a waitlist, we only waited about 25 minutes.

Absolutely fantastic Mexican fare! Highly recommend…I will be back to try more dishes. The staff was really busy during lunch hour but it was worth the wait. It was a little too loud for my taste but we moved over closer to the entrance and that was much more enjoyable. My guest really loved the beans and rice and she prefers it home-cooked. Take your friends or a date!

Had the green sauce chicken Enchiladas... was exactly what I was looking for! Guaranteed authentic, I wasn't too sure about the beans, but the rest of the food made up for it. They sat a party of 8 for breakfast, because we got there early. Today we tried reserving a table for 5 this morning, but no luck. We ended standing outside for over 1 hour. They really need to fix that issue.

We went there for the first time ever, but our customer service was awful. We waited quite awhile to place our orders. We had to ask to order drinks. When the waiter finally came to take our order I told him that we would have a split check and he said we were not allowed to do that and that his computer system was weird on doing that. I told him that we were two separate parties but he said you are at one table. Honestly I thought the whole thing was ridiculous. So we ordered and he said just to tell him what amount we wanted to pay on each card. Well isn’t that a split payment?? Okay After the brought our food no one came back to check on us or offer refills extra napkins etc. The restaurant was very small. I feel this place is overhyped honestly. I’m not sure who the man was helping us was I think his name was Omar he needs to leave his attitude at home and get some more training in being friendly, courteous, and tend to his tables better. I probably will not be returning based on this awful experience. Thank you for your time.

Aqui Es Texcoco is a delightful eatery that pays tribute to the rich culinary heritage of Texcoco, Mexico, renowned as the birthplace of barbacoa. This casual spot specializes in traditional lamb barbacoa, where whole lambs are wrapped in maguey leaves and slow-cooked to perfection.
Best Barbacoa in town! I have been coming to Texcoco for many years, and they never disappoint. Their ingredients are always fresh, and the food is Amazing. My goal is to try everything on the menu, which I am close to already (Including the Chapulines) aka Grasshopper tacos. My favorite choices of meat are the cabeza and costilla.

I was recently here for dinner when looking for some halal Mexican food. This came up on a search and was highly recommended and it absolutely did not disappoint. We tried multiple items including the lamb barbacoa, tacos, and quesadillas and were happy with all of them. The meat was very tender and the food in general was very flavourful. Highly recommended!
Waleed M — Google review
Traditional Mexican Lamb Barbecue. The flavor is strong. I took the less risky path and chose rib meat (head and tripe were the other two options). The green sauce is incredibly spicy, I made the mistake of putting too much on at first. I could barely swallow my first bite, I’m an amateur! Overall, it was an interesting experience and the lamb was good.

Wow! Some of the best halal Mexican I’ve had in a while. The green sauce with chicken and lamb was to die for. Tried both green and red sauce enchiladas; green had more flavour and was more satisfying but both were delicious. So many menu items, you’ll find something you like. The salsas and pickled onions on the sides are very spicy so be careful. The service is friendly and great and prices are fair. Can’t wait to return!

Really nice lamb BBQ. We had the lean and the rib meat. Both were excellent but I would go for just lean next time. It had a good amount of flavor without the rubbery bits. The selection of salsas was nice as well. We got the guacamole and cactus the large size but it was quite a lot! We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

The food was good, but the service was disappointing. I couldn't help but notice that Mexican families seemed to be served more promptly, while others, including myself, were left waiting. I asked for a to-go box and was completely overlooked, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. It took about 15 minutes to get the check and another 15 minutes for someone to take my payment, despite my card being clearly visible on the table. Staff walked by multiple times without acknowledging it. Although the food was good I would not recommend coming here.
Aznswagboi1 — Google review
The place was not busy and we were immediately sat. They had the baseball game on which was nice. We had a full order of barbacoa which was really good, it came with a good sized side of consume and enough tortillas. I tried moronga for my first time, it's definitely something different 😅. My boyfriend tried other tacos but it didn't seem as good as the barbacoa.

I came to this place hoping for good Experience and some good food. Upon my arrival the staff were just leaning on counter tops and didn’t even look like they wanted to tend to me. The restaurant was completely empty not one costumer in there. I saw a mother come in with her daughter must have been at least 6 years old begging to use the bathroom and they literally told this 6 year old baby girl she had to buy something. I felt so bad about that little girl crying saying needs to use the bathroom and couldn’t understand why these adults would not allow her to use the bathroom. Made me loose my appetite

Chinese restaurant
Recently, I visited a Chinese fast-food chain called Panda Express that offers both traditional and healthy options. During my visit, I encountered an exceptional employee named Daniella who provided outstanding service. From beginning to end, she displayed professionalism, kindness, and a warm demeanor. Her pleasant smile was an added bonus. Not only did she meet my expectations but exceeded them by going above and beyond her duties. The way Daniella appreciated her customers and performed her job was truly remarkable.
Awesome Fresh Food. Good Location. Clean Restaurant and 💯 Great Customer Service (Fast & Courteous). Special recognition to iLiana. Her smile and professional service are top notch. Thank you !!!

Ordered two kids meals. Orange Chicken and chao mein. Arrived at home and noticed only 3-4 small pieces of chicken. For almost $10, 3-4 pieces of chicken is not enough. They were lucky I was too far to go back to the restaurant! I called several times and nobody would answer! This isn’t the first time this happens. Other locations do the same. Prices are increased and they still try to rip off customers!

I usually come here via drive thru and the food is always very delicious and served properly, however tonight May 8th I’m very disappointed. Honey walnut shrimp was filled with liquid and watery and looks so unappetizing so much the al carte box was falling apart with liquid all on the bottom of the bag. I didn’t even know honey walnut shrimp could even be watery. The orange chicken is also very hard and old I’ve never had this type of service here before so I’m quite disappointed.
Asuku M — Google review
Came here after Sesame Place to feed the kids before going to SeaWorld. The parking lot was very crowded. There was no fried rice. The lady was rude and very skimpy on the portions. Somehow 1 of our bowls got mixed up and we got the wrong thing. There was hair in my honey walnut shrimp. The hot orange chicken had good flavor. After eating I got a headache and felt ill. I threw up at seaworld. I tried to last for the kids. I was sick the entire drive home and threw up twice more. I've never eaten at this location and never will again.

I just had one of the best fast food experiences of my life at Panda Express! The staff were super friendly and attentive, the service was lightning-fast, and the food was absolutely delicious. I went with the classic Orange Chicken, and it did not disappoint - the flavors were bold, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the portion size was generous. The atmosphere was clean and modern, making it a great spot for a quick lunch or dinner. I've been to Panda Express before, but this location really stood out. Highly recommend stopping by and trying the Orange Chicken (and maybe some of the Super Greens on the side, trust me on that one)! Five stars isn't enough - I'd give it ten stars if I could!
Ricardo A — Google review
I've been coming to Panda Express since I was in high school circa 2000's. The chow mein and fried rice used to be really good. This last visit they both tasted subpar. The fried rice tasted old and like cardboard. The chow mein was a little on the hard side which is different but also flavorless. The reason for the 3 stars is really the low quality of the utensils. When you're eating you don't expect to start eating pieces of plastic but that's just what happened. My son speared a piece of orange chicken with his fork and we heard a little click sound and when he was chewing he freaked out. When he spit out the chicken there was a piece of black plastic that had somehow broken off the fork. The same happened to my mom. A little sad that this place is cutting corners but I still enjoy the food.
Athena N — Google review
I gave 4 stars for cleanliness and the other star is for other improvement. I think their food was delicious but the portion was less than before and the price went up. We never had any bad experience except for the lady on the counter forgot to put chopsticks and fortune cookies in the bag. And when I asked, she quickly gave what I needed. To the staff, just practice food safety all the time.

Got my order wrong twice… like how ? I went the first and they got it wrong came back around another time telling them in detail like as if they’re babies and still got it wrong Ong a baby would’ve understood. Didn’t want to go around another time cause I figured they was a little slow lmao…

The Maritime Museum of San Diego is a waterfront venue that offers a journey through time with its collection of restored vintage ships and historical exhibits. Visitors can explore four historic sailing ships, including the world's oldest, Star of India, and a replica of the Navy frigate HMS Surprise. The museum also features submarines, steam-powered ships, and various maritime exhibits such as model ships and vintage postcards.
The San Diego Maritime Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in maritime history or simply looking for a unique and immersive experience. With a fleet that includes historic ships like the Star of India, HMS Surprise, and even a Soviet-era submarine, the museum offers hands-on exploration and captivating exhibits. The harbor boat tours, especially the narrated Pilot Boat and tall ship sails aboard the Californian or San Salvador, are highlights, offering stunning views of the San Diego skyline and a chance to engage with the crew by raising sails or learning nautical lore. What truly sets the experience apart is the exceptional tour guide, fluent in multiple languages, she seamlessly connects with a diverse group of visitors. Her engaging storytelling, deep knowledge, and warm humor transform the tour into an unforgettable journey. Whether you’re enjoying a harbor cruise or climbing aboard a historic vessel, her guidance elevates the experience and makes the museum not just educational, but deeply enjoyable. Highly recommended for families, history lovers, and curious travelers alike.

Wow! We did the museum tour and added the boat ride for $10. This seriously was the highlight of our trip! The ships available to tour are very cool and the docents were friendly, knowledgeable and were happy to share the depth of their knowledge. Kiki was our tour guide on the boat ride. She is filled with knowledge and stories and spoke the whole ride. She was real and entertaining and her passion for learning, about everything, was clearly evident. Please don't hesitate to go to the Maritime Museum and add the boat trip. Hopefully Kiki will be your tour guide too! Incredible!
Lisa L — Google review
I loved the variety of things to see, riding on the boat and information shared about the development of the harbor from the docent. The kids loved the ability to touch and feel the real ropes, to go down below in the Star of India! Was a nice experience that was not outrageously priced! Worth every penny.

Stepping Into the Past: A Journey Through the Maritime Museum of San Diego Visiting the Maritime Museum of San Diego isn’t just a walk along the waterfront—it’s a full-blown voyage into history. From the moment you step aboard the Star of India, the world’s oldest active sailing ship, you’re no longer in the 21st century. You’re in the age of wind and wood, salt and canvas, where every creak of the deck and flutter of the sails whispers stories from the 18th century. ⚓ Immersive and Unforgettable The museum’s collection is astonishing—not just for its scale, but for how intimately you can explore it. You don’t just look at ships; you climb aboard them. You feel the tight quarters of a Russian submarine, marvel at the craftsmanship of Victorian-era steam yachts, and stand at the helm of vessels that once braved oceans long before GPS or radar. It’s a strange, almost surreal feeling—like your modern self is intruding on a world that ran on grit, courage, and celestial navigation. You start imagining what life was like for sailors who spent months at sea, chasing trade winds and dodging storms. And somehow, the Pacific breeze makes it all feel real. 🕰️ Time Travel, San Diego Style The museum doesn’t just preserve history—it animates it. Docents in period dress, hands-on exhibits, and even sailing excursions make the experience feel alive. You’re not just learning; you’re living it. It’s the kind of place that makes you reflect on how far we’ve come, and how much we’ve lost in the rush toward convenience. Whether you're a history buff, a curious wanderer, or someone just looking for a unique afternoon, the Maritime Museum delivers something rare: a portal to the past that’s anchored right in the heart of San Diego.
Mohamed A — Google review
Very immersible and interactive! My 7 year old loves being able to board ships from old times past and learning the history of each one. There were tour guides along the way as well that were very knowledgeable and helped assist with the education of each vessel. I would also like to note that if you have an EBT card and an ID your ticket would only be $5! It is well worth it regardless. We will definitely be back again.
Sara B — Google review
Fun museum. Good ship selection. Not too busy, easy to navigate. $50-60 for two adults. It is a self navigating tour to see historical ships, and a submarine.

We toured The Berkeley and The Star of India. We spent about an hour looking around. Great history to check out. The ships are beautiful inside, lovely craftsmanship. I really enjoyed the upper area of the Berkeley, it is a large "waiting" room. There are bathrooms on the ships. We purchased tickets in advance, but, you can buy them there. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon (one pm-ish) and it wasn't very busy. We had parked next to the USS Midway earlier in the morning and walked over. We ran out of energy, so we didn't get to all the ships there. Definitely check the ships out.

Had a great time. Was so amazed at this treasure on the waterfront in San Diego. Wished it hadn’t taken me so long to visit. So many different seafaring vessels from different eras to explore as well as the history in the floating museum. Be sure to check out the only periscope view of the San Diego bay. And for any Russel Crowe fans, it was amazing to go aboard the same ship used in the film “Master and Commander” when the British Royal Navy ruled the high seas. After touring the various boats and trying our hand at sailing knots, we also took the San Diego Bay Cruise which was pleasant, though I wish there was more narration. That being said, I can’t wait to come back to do the Naval History Cruise. Definitely will come again. Thank you! (And June was lovely) 😊

San Diego Symphony offers a diverse range of musical experiences, from classical works to world music and chamber pieces. The Spreckels Organ, the largest outdoor organ in the world, has been captivating audiences since 1914 with free programs featuring a variety of musical masterworks. Additionally, the International Summer Organ Festival presents enchanting nighttime concerts by renowned organists.
Beautifully Renovated Symphony Hall is cutting-edge technology, high-resolution very bright video projection and, of course, the exquisitely talented musicians brought the crowd to their feet with a resounding standing ovation at the conclusion of the rebroadcast of Will Farrell in "Elf" in a wonderful holiday treat! My husband and I attended the symphony early in a week-long trip this year, and liked it so much we returned for a second concert before our vacation ended. Besides the quality of the music, we enjoyed the beautifully restored hall and nice little touches like free water to drink. The people who were working in the hall were especially friendly and kind. We were also happily surprised during our first visit to learn that since that concert was not sold out, we were to get better seats than what we had originally purchased. The warm customer service, musical beauty, and the visual feast of the interior of the building all added up to a wonderful experience.

The new Jacobs Music Center is a stunning venue. The 2 year renovation was absolutely worth the wait. I had the pleasure of watching Mahler's Resurrection Symphony from the front row. It was an impeccable performance that really showcased the new venue's acoustics. The San Diego Symphony is a world class orchestra that everyone in San Diego should try to experience!

It was a brand new experience for me. The celling, hallways, and the stage were astoundingly glamorous. And I am grateful for the SDUSD VAPA program to give the opportunity of the High School Honour Ensembles (Me in High School Honour Band) to play music in this atmosphere.

Jacobs Music Center is a treasure. San Diego is so fortunate that Irwin and Joan Jacobs with their generosity has restored a nearly 100 year old gem of a theater into a state of the art entertainment palace. Every square foot of the hall is beautiful and there are an abundance of small details everywhere. Modern buildings can be beautiful, but JMC invokes feelings that you have been transported to some fairy tale version of an old European theater with a mix of styles. The sound is clear and clean, and sight lines to view performers are good in the entire hall. We have sat way up in the balcony and up close in the orchestra section and enjoyed the experience in both.

The Spreckels Organ Pavilion is a historic venue in San Diego that houses the world's largest outdoor pipe organ. Donated to the city in 1914, it boasts over 5,000 pipes of varying lengths. The pavilion, dedicated by John D. and Adolph B. Spreckels, offers a seating capacity of 2,400 benches and hosts numerous concerts and events throughout the year.
It’s located right beside the Japanese garden. This is the World’s Largest Outdoor Musical Instrument! They’ve got several free outdoor concerts perfect for families and little one. Plenty of sitting area and for kids to roam around if they can sit still. If you’re in the area or in the Balboa park, definitely check them out. It’s quite an experience on its own. Pick a day with good weather and bring a hat.

Yesterday evening I had the privilege of attending a Not-So-Silent movie event at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion with Sue, and Dennis & Denise Carreon. Three very old silent Laurel & Hardy movies were shown, with music provided for each movie by our host, Organist Russ Peck. It was a magical event and I felt so privileged to be there.

So cool! Stopped by for the weekly 2:00pm Sunday Concert and it was special to see. The performing artist was very talented and he played 6 entertaining songs. My favorite was the Sound of Music medley arrangement. The sun was intense, so I recommend wearing a hat or bringing an umbrella. There is lots of seating; people come and go as they please. The massive organ is truly impressive and the organist plays it very well. It’s also a nice spot to sit even when the organ is not playing. Check it out!

The San Diego Museum of Art, located in Balboa Park, recently reopened after a temporary closure. The museum offers a diverse collection of global art spanning from 3000 BC to contemporary works. Visitors can explore hidden masterpieces and pieces by 17th-century Dutch painters and printmakers. Additionally, the museum hosts special events such as lectures with the executive director discussing artwork acquisition and transformation into their collections.
Monet! Dali! Matisse! Very cool art museum located in lovely Balboa Park. Quiet, peaceful, and well-maintained space. Staff members were very kind and welcoming. Spent about an hour and a half walking through the different exhibits. They seemed to be organized by time period/country of origin. Also checked out the gift shop which had some really cool artsy stuff. Military ID gets in for free. If you appreciate the different eras of art and you’re spending the day in Balboa Park, this museum is worth a stop.

Beautiful building in Balboa Park with rotating collections of art. Their paintings include all the art masters you'd expect and some lesser known but great artists. Korean furniture exhibit was on display when we toured (it was excellent) and a room of modern art (not my thing). We spent an enjoyable 2 hours wandering the multiple levels.

The San Diego Museum of Art is a lovely attraction in Balboa Park, especially if you enjoy art and galleries. While it’s not as large or extensive as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, or the Met, it still offers a meaningful experience in a more compact setting. I spent about an hour exploring, which felt just right. Admission was $25, and since I visited on a weekday afternoon, I didn’t need to buy tickets in advance—there were no long lines, and the galleries weren’t crowded, which made it easy to enjoy the exhibits peacefully. The collection covers a variety of genres and periods, and I genuinely enjoyed walking through the exhibitions. Overall, it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in San Diego and looking for a cultural highlight.

I enjoyed this Museum, of the ones I visited, the most. They had some really great works on display, and a wide range of periods/cultures/styles to check out. The Museum was fairly large with two floors of exhibits. Some are dedicated to specific artists, so only their pieces are displayed.

Really nice museum that I wasn't expecting to spend a lot of time in. I always go to museums when I travel and this actually was a free ticket from the hotel I was staying in. I don't think I would have gone otherwise, but was pleasantly surprised. Small enough not to be overwhelming, you could easily walk through and appreciate in under an hour. I was there probably 2 hours and could have stayed longer.

I absolutely love going to art museums wherever I travel! Highly recommend going to balboa park when you're in San Diego. There is so much culture, and it's such a big area. That you can visit and walk around to different museums and spaces. This museum is fairly smaller than others. But you can get through it in one day. The exhibits were magnificent if you're appreciative of art culture. Make sure you look up what exhibits are being displayed if you choose to attend.

The San Diego Museum of Art was a lovely gallery. They have a good selection of modern paintings, Impressionists, and Asian sculptures. When I visited, there was a special exhibit of works by Eduardo Chillida that included a very cool VR tour of some of his sculptures. It was a very good retrospective.

Pretty incredible — the SDMoA had a very concisely curated group of paintings from the early 20th and late 19th century. Artists included Manet and Cezzane. The detail was exquisite as were the probable restoration work. Paintings looked as if they were created a few days ago. They charged $15 for family members, but my ticket was waived due to current enrollment in university.

Mexican restaurant
Cocina 35 is a quick-serve restaurant located in downtown's Cortez Hill neighborhood, offering traditional Mexican entrees and breakfast in an airy, industrial setting. The eatery is renowned for its generous portions of chilaquiles, with options like Chilaquiles Regulares and the popular Los Rancheros. The menu also features sampler platters showcasing a variety of sweet and savory items, along with breakfast dishes such as scrambles, omelets, and enfrijoladas.
I found this place on my open table app. It looked amazing. One thing is for sure, make sure to make a reservation. I made a 11:00am and that place is busy. If you cannot find street parking, there is a $3.00 underground parking lot or across a street. I am unsure how much it is since we were lucky find parking. Inside of the restaurant is beautiful. I love the atmosphere. The food is delicious. Everything there is a 10 star+. We took dessert to go but I am sure it's fabulous. If you want to take a drive to San Diego and looking for a good brunch place. This is it. Oh and the service is amazing. We had Karla and she took good care of us.

This restaurant usually have long waits, we were lucky to go on a weekday and it was not busy at around 10am. The service was good but a little slow for my preference. She was very nice though and explained all the dishes we had questions on. Food tasted delicious and it didn’t take that long, maybe because they were not that busy. The concept of this restaurant is good, a little small but still aesthetically appealing. There’s only one bathroom but it was very clean! Parking is in front of the restaurant I believe and it’s $15 or $20 to park unless you find street parking or public parking. I would definitely be going back!

We walked passed this place on a Thursday at 8 am it was completely empty and we decided to go in the next day after. We are from Texas and we're visiting a few days and didn't want to eat hotel breakfast. The Friday we went in it was pretty busy but were sat fairly quickly. Mind you just myself and my husband, we waited about 10 minutes for someone to come over, while another family of 5 got sat and within 30 seconds someone was there to take their order. Our server was walking passed us and stopped in her tracks and was quick to ask if we were ready. We made our order and it was out within 7 minutes before our drinks came out. We both got "hot" lattes but they were warm at best. The food was good, again not hot but the flavor was there. Our server never came back after dropping off our food, we had to get another server to grab our check after waiting another 15 minutes after we were done eating. We're not the type not to tip well, but this was a $65 check for 2 people for breakfast, so no she did not even get a 10% tip. We decided to give it a go again the Sunday we were leaving. It's about 8 am, empty, like 2 families of 2 or 3 people there, she asks if we are walk-in or reservation. I was confused because there was literally no line and a bunch of tables. We were sat, the server comes over, we both got the caffe de olla, again warm at best. The food again out within 5-7 minutes, flavors seem to be there but it definitely feels like they rush the food and the service. Server came back a few times to check on us, waited about 5 minutes after we were done to get our check. I asked her for our check and she comes over and asks "has anyone given you you're check?" I was again confused since she was our server and had her little handy dandy machine on her, like was someone else supposed to give it us. Service absolutely needs to be improved and maybe take a look at turning up the heat on the food and coffee because everything is warm/lukewarm.

This waterfront restaurant on the shores of San Diego Bay is a standout in the city’s dining scene. The menu seamlessly fuses authentic Mexican flavors with a refined, gourmet presentation, creating dishes that are both familiar and elevated. Each plate showcases fresh, well-balanced ingredients prepared with precision. Service is warm, attentive, and well-paced, adding to the overall excellence without feeling overbearing. The setting is simply beautiful—offering stunning bay views that perfectly complement the experience. Prices are moderate and entirely reasonable given the quality of the cuisine, service, and location. A must-visit for those seeking exceptional food in a truly picturesque setting.

Edited on 11/06/25: I went in person and omg yassssss best chilaquiles in town and awesome Service as well. Avoid delivery though because the 30 minutes it sits in the container gets them soggy even if you get the “deconstructed”..idk if maybe they didn’t follow this request but just go in person. Pro tip, make a reservation online to avoid long wait. I really want to like this place since they are known for the “best chilaquiles in town”. Overall I wasn’t too impressed. My chilaquiles were soggy, apparently because I got them “constructed” but since I ordered delivery it really was not, they were simply placed in a to go container. It seems silly to charge extra for “deconstructed” version to maintain the crispyness, it should just be common sense to use best judgement when it comes to that. I was confused in regards to why the beans were so watery, am I suppose to drink them? Also they were nasty and tasted like they came from a can, I threw them away. I was initially mostly pleased with the $6 freshly squeezed orange juice but was expecting something extra since they advertise it comes in an “adult cup”. I later found something floating around in there..coulda been mold from not cleaning their squeeze device properly? The flavor of the chilaquiles and carnitas was really good. I have yet yet to experience the “best chilaquiles in town”. Soggy is not it.

Great spot for authentic, delicious Mexican food and brunch! Be prepared for a wait if you don’t have a reservation—but trust me, it’s well worth it. We came on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend, and the place was fully prepared for the crowds: organized, professional, and efficient. There’s a large paid parking, street parking, and a garage all conveniently located right across the street and next to the restaurant, which is a huge plus for any downtown location. One unique touch I appreciated was the display of all their menu items both on the phone and behind glass inside the actual restaurant—it makes it easy to choose what looks most appetizing. I ordered the El Patrón platter, a hearty breakfast sampler with chilaquiles, beans, two eggs, and French toast. The portion was just right—I cleaned the plate. For dessert, I had the churros, which were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Simple, but perfectly done. The only downside was the specialty coffee. At $9, it didn’t live up to the name or price—the milk in there tasted borderline expired...Still, I highly recommend this place! They have several other locations too, in case downtown isn’t your scene. Thank you for a wonderful experience! 10/10.

This was my first time trying Cocina 35. I have seen this restaurant with huge lines before which have turned me off but this time I decided to give it a try. I wish I would have tried this place sooner as I didn't realize how quickly this establishment attends its guest which allows the line outside to move very quickly. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the chilaquiles with carne asada and the agua de jamaica was delicious as well. All the servers were very welcoming and very attentive. I will definitely be returning.

Let's start with the customer service. It was not good service at all. I saw 2 other couples from the walk in list, that got seated after my husband and I, not only get their orders taken but they got their food and drinks before we did. I ordered the Patron plate with a little of everything. The chilaquiles were tortilla chips with a light smear of bland salsa. The beans were watered down. The avocado was not ripe. The french toast was stiff. This place is overrated for the quality of the food and service. The decor and walls inside are not aesthetic at all. The cherry on top was after paying for this mediocre Mexican meal, I had to use the restroom. A Cocina 35 employee finished using the restroom and did not have the decency to inform me that the restroom needed to be restocked with toilet paper. Luckily I had pocketed a couples napkins and was able to use them. I will never be returning to any of these Cocina 35 establishments and highly recommend you seek another restaurant choice over this business any day.

Salt & Straw, a renowned ice cream chain originating from Oregon, has gained a devoted following for its creative flavors and use of locally sourced ingredients. The Little Italy location in San Diego, which opened last year, has drawn long lines of eager customers at all hours. Despite the wait, patrons are treated to friendly service and the opportunity to sample an array of unique flavors such as Honey Lavender and Arbequina Olive Oil.
MUST TRY!! Clean, friendly & delicious! They let you try any flavor (can try them all). Samples from small metal spoons allowing you to truly taste each one. Pictured in this review are “freckled mint chip” and a peanut butter chocolate option. Both happen to be vegan and coconut based. So sweet & savory! You will not be disappointed.

Vibe: 8.5/10 - love that this location has seating options as well (although limited) Service: 10/10 - all of the staff were extremely kind and pleasant to chat with, especially including the crowd control hostess! Value: 8/10 - although pricy, the unlimited samples of their amazingly unique flavors makes it so worth it! Chocolate gooey brownie: 10/10 - finally giving in and saying this flavor is my favorite ice cream of all time. No notes. Be sure to at least sample the monthly flavors. Essence of Ghost and Creepy Crawlers are fun this month :) Overall: 9.1/10 (4.56/5) [To clarity our review system: 10 = we'll never have anything else as good as this in our lives (we use 10 very sparingly!) 9 = extraordinary 8 = great 7 = above average 6 = average Anything below 6 is being critical]

Even with a huge line wrapping outside, and knowing we could have opted for an authentic Italian gelato somewhere else, Salt & Straw proved once again why people happily wait. They stuck to their quality and absolutely delivered on taste. We ordered the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, packed with rich cookie dough chunks and caramel drizzle, and the Snickerdoodle, with its unmistakable snickery, nutty flavor. They were served on a crusted cone, thank God, because these were two massive ice cream chunks stacked high. Together, the flavors paired perfectly, especially with the playful topping of rainbow sprinkles and chocolate chips. Every scoop was super creamy, smooth, and insanely delicious. But what truly made the experience special was the service. Despite the long line, the entire team treated everyone with patient, cozy hospitality, the kind that makes you feel grateful you decided to stay. Salt & Straw ended up being the perfect pick for our San Diego sweet getaway. Totally worth every minute of the wait.

Great flavors and great texture. You can try the different flavors if you are skeptical - they give you a little spoon of it and you place the used spoon down the shoot so there isn't a bunch of trash which I love. The honey lavender flavor is great! And the chocolate brownie is very decadent.

Delicious. Just found my new favorite ice cream flavor, Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper. Sounds interesting, however it pleased my palate beyond compare. I also split my scoop and got honey lavender, another successful choice. The line was a little long but it went fast and was worth it. The sample spoons were metal and reusable which I liked. Highly recommend to all.

Very friendly service even when crazy busy 30mins before close. I like that the taster spoons are metal and returned. The ooey gooey brownie was exactly that, the salted malted cookie dough was also as described and delicious, and the pup cup was enjoyed by our beagle.

Just wow! While the selection isn’t particularly large, this shop offered among the most unique ice cream flavors I’ve ever tasted! I highly recommend tasting a few flavors before selecting, as many of their flavors aren’t very sweet, but instead are savory.
