Nason's Beer Hall is a highly acclaimed beer hall with a refined atmosphere that offers drinkers a wide variety of craft beers from all over the world as well as globally inspired comfort eats. The bar has an extensive collection of vintage games, making it an ideal spot for satisfying gaming cravings. The quality of the food can be hit or miss, but the pulled pork waffle fries and Mac and cheese are both very good.
If you're looking for a great place to watch sports in the Gaslamp, look no further! This place has it all: a lively atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, and fantastic food. I especially enjoyed the wings and the burger - both were top-notch.
Daniel S — Google review
Visited Nason's around 5 times as I was staying in the Pendry. First day I just had beer: Shock Top and then the Living Haus Pilsner. The next day my partner and I ordered the Wagyu Crunchwrap which came with a Caesar salad and Buffalo Chicken Sliders which came Tater Tots. The Wagyu Crunchwrap was one of the best things we had. We also liked the flavor of the sliders but it the portion was a bit smaller, this was noted by the server though so great heads up. Another time I ordered the Salty Crew Blonde Ale and got the Bone In Chicken Wings deal on Tuesday. Wings were super crispy but juicy, really recommended. Finally the last time I ordered burger with a side for which I got fries. There was a Happy Hour deal for this and price was $11. Overall amazing food, great priced Happy Hour, servers and bartenders were chill. Really recommend this place!
Josh B — Google review
Solid spot for wings and brews. Their staff was friendly and the service was quick. They have plenty of TVs for sports and it’s a great spot to hangout with friends. The food was also great.
Jerome C — Google review
Mallory, Christian, and manager Jack were extremely supportive of my large party reservation. Thank you for your kindness in accommodating us in your back room! The food and drinks were excellent! I recommend the guacamole to start!
Allie M — Google review
Full bar with a very good beer selection. Lots of local crafts and some from further afield. Food is a step up from typical bar food. I only had wings but the steaks I saw come out of the kitchen looked and smelled very appalling. Some patio seating out from on the street. The atmosphere wasn't great, lots of after work office workers are conference goers. Could be different at other times of the day. Bar staff were professional and attentive, but not particularly engaging.
Drew D — Google review
Fun bar in Gaslamp Quarter. We had hamburgers, fries, Caesar salad and beer. All the food was delicious. Their outside patio is really nice. They also have a fun, huge bar inside.
Kimberly F — Google review
Staff was amazing. I told them the kind of beer I wanted and the gentleman set me up with a light locker. We didn’t eat here, but the atmosphere and the service was amazing.
Mishelle S — Google review
The CUTEST most FESTIVE venue ever. They have so many fun board games, beer pong, giant connect 4, a foosball table, tons of TVs. They have a kids menu suitable for picky eaters- you just have to ask. We got the kids Alfredo, burger, chicken tenders (all $10), and adult cheeseburger ($17). The food itself took a long time (we didn’t mind too much bc we were occupied by said board games) and were all small portions. But tasty! Overall rating: B+, would recommend!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Chula Vista, Manhattan Bar is a charming and unpretentious watering hole that beckons both locals and visitors alike. As you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy ambiance that sets the perfect stage for an evening with friends or a romantic outing. The dim lighting adds to its intimate vibe, making it feel like a hidden gem away from the bustling city. Despite changes in ownership over the years, Manhattan Bar has remained a beloved landmark in the area.
Great day drinking place to hit up if you dont feel like going to the flashy, loud, and expensive bars and restaurants saturating the city. It feels more intimate and you feel a lot less like another customer when you drink here, I dont know quite how to explain it, but they make you feel welcome and there's no pressure or any type of uncomfortable interactions to be had, which is great for someone like myself who suffers with anxiety and would rather saw my arm off with a rusty saw than interact with people most days lol Its located right On the corner of Broadway & H St. Place looks really small from the outside, which almost put me off the first time i decided to try it out, but luckily I gave it a chance and went in anyways. Once you get inside, its not bad at all, there is plenty of space even when there are a lot of people. Its never overwhelmingly crowded or stuffy as you will likely assume by looking at it from the outside. Trust me, just go in and if it isnt to you liking, you can always turn and walk out the way you came in, but you may be pleasantly surprised and decide you misjudged it based on what the outside made you picture in your mind. Its really not tiny inside despite it looking like it would have to be based on what you see outside, trust me. When you drink here, you'll notice the laid back atmosphere that mixes seamlessly with the friendly socializaton going on around the place. There's friendly staff, and everything you'd expect to find at your standard bar. It isn't uncommon to make new friends every time you go, as everyone I've ever met or seen drinking here all seemed like great people who were a lot of fun to be around. The staff is welcoming but the other patrons might have them beat sometimes! I have a blast every time I visit and never once have I witnessed any sort of problematic people, altercations, drama, or harassment of any kind, its been all positive for me personally! There is parking (thank God) and despite the area not being known for having very good parking in general for any businesses, this parking lot is surprisingly spacious and can accommodate over a dozen cars, if I were to guess, possibly even more. It isn't the sort of lot that you're going to end up forced into doing a ridiculous 205-point turn in order to park your car and the spaces here are big enough to actually park in! I know, i know, crazy! There wont be any fender benders, scratching up the sides kf your car and the one squeezed into the space beside you as you attempt to park or leave, and you can even properly open up your doors to exit and enter your vehicle! Car, truck, or SUV! You aren't forced into an impromptu game of tetris while parking, as is the case for many bars with similar sized lots and in similarly populated areas. I suggest backing into your spot to make it easier to pull out later, but definitely not required, as there's enough space to back out and then pull forward. Nearby the 5 freeway, so nonlocals can easily make it here without issue and its practically impossible to get lost no matter how terrible you may be when it comes to directions lol when im not here grabbing a drink, I drive by the place several times per week during all hours of the day and evening, and every single time I pass, I see small groups of customers standing or smoking outside who are ALWAYS looking like their having a good time, and I can assure you, they most definitely are. Oh! And there's a bus stop literally directly in front of the place. I mean quite literally, the bus stop bench is going to be like 6-9 feet in front of you when you walk out the door. You can take the trolley to the stop next to the freeway about 2 min down the road and hop on the bus if you dont feel like walking, or if you cant walk. When weather permits, and let's be honest, in San Diego, the weather always permits, I'd even walk there! Its quite literally a few min walk from the trolley station. Leave the trolley, go straight towards Broadway, turn left on Broadway, and there it is, on the corner of H St & Broadway. Cheers!

Cash only, no cards accepted. No kitchen, so no food. Parking is very limited. Pool table by the entrance door, very distracting if you're playing while people come and go. DJ is cool, playing hits sounds.
Gerald J — Google review
Our bartender was Amy. The atmosphere was absolutely timeless. The service exceptional! If you're lucky you might get to meet Amy, the best bartender, quite possibly in San Diego, and if you're really lucky on the same day? You might just get to meet "Propeller, Dave".

Was a fun Christmas party... All the bartender's very professional and always have good stories to share. Happy Holidays !!😬

Lets be honest, this is a nice place and has a full bar, the bar tender should know a wide range of cocktails, me and my wife ask for mai-tai and blue hawaiian, we got a drink 90% alcohol and 10% flavor. We realize that bar tender do not measure the ingredients , she just pour at will.
Guapodidier2099 — Google review
Like coming here with my cousins. It's pretty small with a small dance floor. We like coming on cumbia night. Oh yeah, good luck with parking. Overall, we have fun. We party and drink 🍸

I have always liked this place, even before I had a stroke, 5 years ago. It has changed few owners, but still carries the name The Manhattan, a Chula Vista landmark to me. I Wish the 24hr Flamingo Cafe was still across the street. Both went hand in hand. Bar shut down and everybody including owners would eat at cafe. (NW corner) The only problem with Manhattan is, that it is totally terrible to move a power chair in ADA bathroom, since I'm disabled now. But STILL gave this place a 5 for still a great place after 20 years!

Wine bar
Bar Sin Nombre, also known as The Bar Without a Name, is a trendy speakeasy-style establishment located at 253 3rd Ave #100 in Chula Vista, CA. It offers a diverse selection of beers and is particularly popular for its hard-to-find brews that are constantly changing. The bar provides an enjoyable atmosphere for groups of people to chill and socialize while enjoying their drinks. Additionally, they have video games available at select tables, adding an entertaining element to the experience.
They do not sell food, they have chips available. Good variety of beer. Michelitro and Two Tonws is a good refreshing option.
Lorena C — Google review
The owner/ bartender was super helpful in picking out a nice sour beer. The atmosphere was chill. 4 televisions playing different things from sports to comedies. 2 retro gaming tvs.

Tap house with friendly and generous owner. Keeping one of the most Varietal selections in San Diego. From local California and national breweries Located on 3rd ave filled with eateries. Always a must to stop by and drink dessert. You know us adults who choose our sweets 😋 😉 😏 😜

Opens at 5pm. The owner might take the time to tell you his philosophy of a great beer list.

Can't give a fair rating - I've only been there once. The wine beer wasn't to my liking because it's just wine posing as beer.

Located in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, barleymash is a lively and energetic spot that offers a unique blend of craft beer, bourbon, and delicious flatbread pizzas. The establishment features large communal tables where patrons can gather to watch sports on big screens while enjoying their drinks from the full bar. The menu boasts creative dishes like homemade duck puppies and barleypies, which are flatbread pizzas made with barley and ale.
My FAVORITE place in Gaslamp!! The food here is always fresh and the portions are GENEROUS. I highly recommend the wings because the whiskey buffalo is fire! Also, this is one of the few places where a salad WILL fill you up. They come with delicious bread and always a 10/10. You can tell the food here is made with love and their condiments are homemade! This place is consistently exceeding my expectations with every season of menu they put out. They are currently on season 13 so I definitely recommend everyone try them out! Great place to catch a game with some delicious food! I come here at least twice a month :)

If you're in gas lamp, this is a staple of the bar scene! Mornings, lunch, dinner and dance. They've been great since I've moved to SD in 2014 and I still keep on coming here. They got a build your own bloody mary in the mornings, they play foot ball on Sundays, the food and drinks are great here.
James G — Google review
Dinner for 1 at the bar on a Thursday at 6p. Good: cocktails, beer menu, service, fun environment. Mediocre: food. I ordered the Champ burger with fries. The fries were cooked just beyond limp - not crispy at all. And unevenly seasoned. The burger was a great idea that was executed poorly; it was too big to get a bite of all the elements, so the eating experience began by just working through half the meat (under-seasoned) before finally getting to the onion straws and delicious spicy sauce that had only been sparingly applied to the top bun. I ended up pulling most of the pulled pork out of the bun just so I could taste all the good stuff in there. They need to work on this. Bottom line, I'd go back but I would definitely order a different menu option.
Paul K — Google review
I didn't try the food so I can't comment. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Ron Burgundy old fashioned was very good, I would recommend. The bar was lively with a fun atmosphere in the middle of gas lamp district even on a Monday night. I'd come back to try the food - everything here looked good but I was only stopping in for a drink.

Came here on a Saturday before the Padres game and enjoyed the patio. My partner ordered a Zinfandel and I got a Mother Earth Cali Creamin Beer. Overall good service, nice TV's and good atmosphere. Also I saw someone's Chicken Tenders, they looked super super super crispy. If I were to go back here and have food, that is something I would definitely order. Also it came with 4 sauces and I really like that. I'll update my review if I ever get the Chicken Tenders.
Josh B — Google review
I was told by a friend that I needed to do here. I did it and I’m so glad I did. Amazing food and drinks. I had the Ron Burgandy which is their take on an Old Fashioned and it was delicious! Also had the Bourbon BBQ burger which was awesome. Lots of TVs on for all the Saturday college football games. Service was outstanding. I can wait to go back and try all the other things. I just missed brunch so I have more reasons to return.
Josh M — Google review
Over the past year, Barleymash has become more than just a restaurant, it’s been a Sunday ritual for my friends and I. It’s a place to unwind. From the moment you walk in, the energy is warm, inviting, and effortlessly lively without ever feeling chaotic. The food is consistently outstanding. Every dish, whether it’s a perfectly executed brunch favorite, the indulgent Steak Dinner, or a perfectly cooked burger, reflects the attention to detail, creativity, and genuine care. The drinks are equally impressive, with a rotating selection of local beers and well-crafted cocktails that always hit the spot. What truly sets Barleymash apart, though, is the staff. A special shoutout is owed to the Sunday Bartenders, their professionalism, friendliness, and effortless ability to keep the vibe upbeat have made every Sunday amazing. They’re the heartbeat of the experience and deserve every bit of recognition. Every visit, they balance professionalism with friendliness, creating a space where you feel welcome and genuinely taken care of. The ambiance, the live music, the crowd, the communal energy, never fails to lift your spirits, making it the perfect spot to spend some time. Barleymash isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a cornerstone of the Gaslamp experience. To anyone reading this, treat yourself. It’s a gem in every sense of the word.

⭐☆☆☆☆ — Unwelcoming and rude experience I don’t normally leave reviews, but I felt compelled after how I was treated here. The bouncer was incredibly rude right from the moment I arrived — no greeting, just attitude and was met with unnecessary hostility and sarcasm. Bars should be about good vibes and hospitality — especially at the door, since that sets the tone. Instead, I was made to feel small and uncomfortable. I ended up leaving and taking my business elsewhere. There are plenty of better spots in the area that actually know how to treat guests with basic respect. I won’t be back.

The Hyatt Top of the Hyatt, located atop the tallest waterfront hotel in all of Southern California, offers guests breathtaking views that can only be replicated by helicopter. The upscale bar is popular with locals and tourists alike for its modern decor, delicious food and drinks, and warm atmosphere. With seven bars and restaurants on site, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
I had a fantastic experience at Top of the Hyatt! The drinks were absolutely top-notch. I tried their espresso martini with tequila, and it was delicious — the perfect balance of rich coffee flavor and a smooth kick from the tequila. My husband went with a classic Manhattan, and he was equally impressed. The service was excellent, with attentive servers making sure we had everything we needed. The bartenders are truly skilled at crafting great cocktails, and the view from the top was just the cherry on top of a wonderful evening. Highly recommend for a night out with great drinks and an amazing atmosphere!
Abigail M — Google review
This is a great place to go and get an awesome view and a couple of drinks. You can see the whole city from up here. They have really good drinks and the service is awesome. I would have to say they could have a little more interesting food and the fact that they should not let kids up in a bar 21 and up. With the said though it is an awesome experience if you have not done it.

Cocktails with a great view of the San Diego skyline and Bay Area at the top of the tallest hotel in town. Tried the La Jolla which was pretty good. Pricing is on the higher end for cocktails.
Shravan S — Google review
Top of the Hyatt was the perfect spot for our wedding welcome party with about 110–120 guests. The bar had amazing vibes, delicious drinks, and top-tier service from start to finish. Our guests were blown away by the views—even at night—and the seasonal dive bar theme with games added such a fun, unexpected twist. The atmosphere was classy but relaxed, and the staff made sure everything ran smoothly. It was a total hit and a fabulous spot to host an event. Highly recommend!

While staying at the hotel, we visited Top of the Hyatt, and the views were incredible. It was crowded, so we had to wait for a table, but it was worth it to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. It can get pretty loud because of the number of people, but we still enjoyed our time there. We didn’t eat, though the food we saw looked very good. Despite being busy, the service was attentive.
Mayi B — Google review
Unlike a lot of hotel bars, this is one that's probably better suited for those not staying at the hotel. If you're staying in a bay view room you're already going to have the same view as the bar. If you set the view aside, the drinks are actually very good. With so many great bars (some within walking distance of this one) in SD I'm not sure I can say you NEED to check this one out, but I also wouldn't warn to to avoid it.
Josh M — Google review
"Top of the Hyatt has one of the best views in San Diego! The cocktails are great, the atmosphere is classy but relaxed, and it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset over the bay. The staff is attentive and friendly, which makes the experience even better. A must-visit if you want good drinks with an amazing view."

We had a large group here during comic con and were delighted not only by the sights, food, and drinks, but also the attentive and charismatic service we received from Ashley. This wasn't my first visit and certainly wont be my last. Update: Sunday after comic con, half the room was empty. Was impossible to get service. We flagged our server several times and it still look almost 20 minutes to get our drinks. Once things got busy Trinity showed up and was absolutely fabulous. She saved the evening and thennwhen leaving, she came sprinting after me to give me my left behind belongings. Give Trinity a BONUS! She's the best.

Italian restaurant
Sports bar
La Bella Pizza is a charming, family-friendly eatery that has been delighting patrons with its classic and specialty pizzas since 1955. Nestled in Chula Vista, this casual spot also offers a delectable selection of pasta and fried appetizers, making it the perfect destination for families looking to enjoy hearty Italian meals together. The restaurant's rich history began when Tony and Kitty Raso, an Italian couple from New York, opened its doors over six decades ago.
An SD institution in every sense. My family's been eating here regularly for 4 generations starting w/ my grandparents, then on to my mom and uncles, followed by my brother and I, and now through to my teenage son. THE single best Italian place I've ever found. And that's after extended stays in 22 diffrent states. Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere, fantastic service, and fair prices. Hundreds of visits over +30 years and not even ONE bad experience. If that isn't 5 stars then what is?
Michael W — Google review
Dear La Bella Pizza manger: I'm writing to express my disappointment with the Mexican pizza I purchased today. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The pizza lacked flavor and was missing essential ingredients, including beans and onions. Specifically, I requested half jalapenos, but it seemed like most of the toppings were omitted. I've enjoyed your Mexican pizza in the past, which is why I was surprised by the poor quality of today's pie. To prevent similar issues in the future, I suggest implementing quality control measures to ensure consistency in your dishes. I hope you'll take my feedback seriously and make necessary improvements. Sincerely, Juan Carlos.
Juan R — Google review
I ordered takeout from this pizzeria for the first time. The place had a charming vintage vibe. I asked for one topping—mushrooms—and my order was ready pretty quickly. I’m very picky when it comes to red sauce, but this one did not disappoint. It tasted freshly made with ripe tomatoes and was perfectly seasoned. I was expecting a more generous amount of mushrooms, especially since it was the only topping I requested, but they were scattered a bit sparsely. The crust was super thin, just how I like it, but a bit too soft, which made it hard to pick up a slice and take a proper bite. Overall, I really enjoyed the pizza and will definitely return to try another mushroom pizza—this time with extra mushrooms. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ La Bella’s is a true Chula Vista classic! I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember, and it never disappoints. The pizza, pasta, salad, and beer are all consistently great, and the atmosphere is perfect for families and groups. My kids absolutely love the arcade, and we’ve hosted several birthday parties and end-of-season baseball celebrations here. We always have an amazing time—great food, friendly staff, and a fun environment for everyone. Excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming vibe—La Bella’s is a local favorite and a staple of the Chula Vista community!
SuperNova 1 — Google review
We were in town with another family to celebrate my son’s birthday at sesame place and made reservations at La Bella for dinner. The arcade was perfect for our 6 year olds and our 2 year olds had just as much fun exploring the games! After living on Long Island for 20 years, I’ve had my share of homemade and restaurant Italian cuisine. I can honestly say the food was simply amazing! The kids actually ate more spaghetti than pizza! We would definitely come here again the next time we are in the Chula Vista area! Thank you, La Bella, for adding to a fun filled birthday weekend for my son!
Sherriann M — Google review
Talk about a delicious, no mess, no clean-up, kids have fun and tired themselves out so adults can have some reprieve establishment. Had my sons birthday party at the arcade/pool area, and it was great. 4 large pizzas, 2 Caesar salads, large pesto pasta to share, 3 pitchers of drinks, and 2 water pitchers all for just over $200.00!! Family atmosphere, clean establishment, service was on par, food was definitely worth the price and tasting great. We brought a cake, and the lovely waitress helped by putting it in the fridge. She even brought out utensils and plates at cake cutting time!! Does not get better than this! BTW: Veggie pizza is the best!! The bar has a selection of adult beverages and screens everywhere. I am definitely doing this again!!!
Rogelio L — Google review
First time there. Was in town for a birthday celebration in a private dining room. Our waiter was great and gracious about all the separate checks! This place has an old town feel to it and has been there for many years. The food is amazing, and the food portions are huge. You will definitely be full and have plenty of leftovers! Got the appetizer platter, several Caesar salads- they were delicious! And of course pizza. We got the Veggie pizza with added jalapeños. Reasonable prices, great service and delicious food. Highly recommend! Looking forward to going back.

Zama San Diego is a trendy spot located in the Gaslamp Quarter, offering a unique fusion of Asian and Latin American cuisine set against the backdrop of the Amazon jungle. The restaurant boasts a tropical-themed cocktail menu featuring creative concoctions like the Junglerita and Endless Nights. Guests can also enjoy happy hour specials on select days. The ambiance is described as breathtaking, with attentive and friendly staff adding to the overall dining experience.
We had a dinner for two with reservations celebrating a birthday, and everything was great, and we had a very memorable experience. Food: very diverse selection and everything we had was delicious! The lamb appetizer, the octopus appetizer, the Chilean sea bass, even the ‘ordinary’ super salad were great. Ambiance: combination of the beautiful decors and exciting music (with DJ after 8:30) and a great Gas Lamp location provided an excellent setting for a date night out, a small party, or a group event. The service was pretty good, we had a waitress from Netherlands who has been here only a few weeks, she was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The special birthday celebration was amazing. The drinks and food came promptly and without issues.

Delicious! My friends and I decided to check out this fantastic restaurant and it was a fabulous choice. The cocktails were sublime and I loved the sexy pink roll. It was so tasty. And get the fries as they are to die for! The ambiance is beautiful and relaxing for dinner. We didn’t stay through the evening when the DJ comes on, but I can tell that place gets jumping. I would definitely recommend going there for dinner or a fun night out on the town.

We had the best time! The vibe was the perfect mix of upscale and fun. We ordered the tropical roll, scallops, and lava cake, all phenomenal. Their happy hour drinks were on point too. Huge shoutout to our server, Alex, who was absolutely amazing. He was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better!

Visiting from columbus Ohio! We needed a late night dinner, and Zama was great. I was also given a gift card for a free appetizer, so that was nice. The food was great! It tasted freshly prepared. We had the brisket and sirloin steak. We didn't leave any piece behind. Our server kept our water glasses full. She had a conversation with us. That was very nice of her. It is loud, but you can still talk. Its dark too, but its perfect for the party lights they use when they are celebrating Bachelorettes or birthdays. The green velvet couch was lovely. The ambiance was almost rainforest. It was just a bit too snug for my husband to get up from the couch to the bathroom. I I highly recommend this place. It was worth its cost.

Fantastic ambiance. Shout out to Jesus who gave great menu recommendations and was attentive. Service was on point. The lamb lollipops are phenomenal, perfect size for a light meal or appetizer with a date. The filet was perfectly cooked and one of the best I’ve had. Have to give another shout out for the decor—great vibes all around. Will definitely be back next time I’m in San Diego.

My first time eating at Zama. I came from Houston and the food was very good. The Golden treasure rolls, the Zama-Tini drink and the lava cake dessert were a good combination! The location is well decorated and personnel are very friendly

I have been dining with my girlfriend yesterday in order to celebrate her birthday. We chose Zama because of the good reviews about food, service and ambience. Indeed I loved the music and the food is very delicious! The roll of the day and the lamp chops are another level, Drinks a very well made too! They told me that they have shows and happenings on Friday and Saturday with sparkles all over the place, can’t wait to be back and see them! Thank you Zama team see you very soon!

Mothership is a unique tiki bar in South Park, San Diego that offers an out-of-this-world experience. The bar's concept revolves around the idea of space marauders making an emergency landing on a planet abundant with plant life and intoxicating spirits. Their menu features a variety of creatively crafted tiki cocktails, ranging from the flavorful Nostromos Stowaway to the potent Mindkiller.
Very nice space themed restaurant the menu was so cute. I love that it’s vegan cuisine but I do wish they had some sort of meat option. Nonetheless the vegan dishes were very delicious and well seasoned. Drink was cute and delicious. I recommend a reservation as it got super busy in the evening.

Mothership is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The ambiance is like sitting in a bar somewhere on another planet in another solar system! If Han Solo walked in I wouldn't even think twice about it! From the seating to the walls and even the bathrooms you are in for an interstellar experience! The drinks are amazing and the food is outstanding! If you are within a few hours of San Diego you need to come here!! 10/10!

🛸Beautiful Space, Disappointing Experience During our trip to San Diego, this was a restaurant we were really looking forward to, and I had high expectations for the vegan menu. However, the experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting. Due to a staff mistake, we had to wait about 40 minutes, and even after being seated, I had to call the staff myself to place our order. I wanted to order sooner, but they seemed too busy attending other tables, so we had no choice but to wait. What made it even more frustrating was that my partner had gone to fetch his ID just to get us seated, yet the server, knowing this, did not inform us about the approaching kitchen closing time or whether we could still order. Even though we tried to order before 10 PM, the kitchen was already closed, which was very surprising and disappointing. In the end, all our efforts to enjoy vegan food and drinks were in vain. Having already had great experiences at Vulture and Kindred, our expectations were high, making the disappointment even heavier. While the staff were polite, the lack of basic guidance and management ruined what could have been a special experience. I will not be returning. I do not want to go through this same disappointment again.

We really enjoyed our entire experience at Mothership. The cocktails are the star of a visit. They are complex and very delicious. Certainly worth returning a few times so you can taste all of them. Service was top notch. The decor and theme definitely transport you to a far off place. Just as a tiki bars were designed to do. Mothership does it in an original and fun way. We will definitely return.
King S — Google review
First, if you've never been to Mothership, go. No matter about any bad reviews, go check it out. It will most likely be a "One and done" place for you. Primarily because there are limited food options and the drinks are pricey for what you get. So go in with the mindset that this is for the experience. The only time we may go back is if we have out-of-town visitors and want to do something fun. The decor and atmosphere is awesome. My only complaint is the music is way too loud. It was like club-level loud. The food was really good. My only issue with the dining part is the drinks. Our drinks were 90% ice and literally just a few sips of actual drink. The place is very small. Around 10-12 tables and 6 seats at the bar. With all this said, if you haven't been before, go.
Robert M — Google review
I went to check out Mothership and was a little disappointed with the menu; there weren't many options, and is only vegan. I ordered fries and a drink, and it took over 20 minutes to be served. The place is understaffed. As for the space itself, it looked better in the pictures online; the place is very dark. I think it's worth visiting once, but I don't plan on going back. The part I liked most about the place was the bathroom; it's quite fun. I was shocked by the 30% tip; it's excessive. I don't think I've ever seen that anywhere else. I expected more from this experience, and I left Mothership very hungry. If you go there, I recommend eating beforehand!

This is a 6 star bar easily. Just can’t rate it higher. Drinks are perfect, super strong, atmosphere is great. Even though it gives HR Geiger vibes this is top tier tiki through and through and I would say easily one of the best in the world. The staff were all wonderful. It was so good we bought two glasses. This is gonna be a permanent addition to visiting SD. ***Edit. Went back a 2nd time. Had some of the food. The paella is with the trip alone and just utterly perfect. Almost finished the entire drink menu with my wife between both visits. I’m Sticking with my original statement. One of the best bars in the world.

The COOLEST immersive bar experience that feels like going to another planet. Loved the menu that was designed like a spaceship manual!! Sushi restaurant
Izakaya Naruto is a trendy and contemporary Japanese pub that specializes in an array of small plates and some larger entrees. Situated in a pleasant strip mall, this family-style restaurant offers an overall great dining experience. A notable feature is their delicious sushi rolls, making it a sought-after spot for sushi enthusiasts in Chula Vista. While parking may be limited inside, the welcoming staff ensures prompt seating and provides polite and friendly service throughout your visit.
I’ve been coming to this place for years. Highly recommend dining here. The ambience is super calm and chill. The service is very kind and friendly. They put so much quality and effort to making their rolls. And also if you do take out they make sure to go through your order with you to make sure everything is in there. And also their House Sriracha is sooooo good! Highly recommend dining here!!!
Ady L — Google review
My main issue is that everything here is pretty pricey and you don't get something exceptional in exchange. Specialty sushi rolls hover on the $17 area upwards to $20. The bowl of ramen pictured was $20 and pretty mid. Dry pieces of chicken, ok noodles, so so broth. The place itself is chaotic and the service is rushed to keep up. It's open later than most places around so maybe that explains why it was so busy on a Sunday night. Maybe there's something I missed. I don't know. 3.5 stars.
Timothy T — Google review
Decided I wanted to come in by myself to enjoy a bowl of ramen and some sake. I was immediately welcomed. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Staff were kind and the food was delicious. I had an amazing time despite eating alone. The staff member “Go” was kind and checked in on me often. Thank you for the delicious food and hospitality, Go! I will be coming back! Thank you for the Hi-Chew candy too! Arigato!

Could not recommend this place enough. The owner was a great guy, couple that with a cozy atmosphere, great service, and delicious food. You can't go wrong. If you're in the area, snag any roll off the menu, or order a teriyaki bowl. You will not be disappointed.

Food was 10/10, fried chicken was a tad burned but was still juicy, broth and sushi were probably the best I've had. Great server too, she was super nice!!

I've been there at least 4 times, but this last time really disappointed, they took at least half an hour to take our order even though we has press the button they had for service and we could hear it going off, it was me, two of my friends and a kid. When we finally order food didn't take too long (thankfully) food there is always good you can taste the quality. Once we were done eating we stayed there finishing our drinks just talking the place was not busy if it would've been we would have left so someone else could have a table but it wasn't so i don't understand why they just kept staring at us as if they wanted us to leave wich made it VERY uncomfortable for all of us. Don't know if I'll go back to be honest.
Priscilla O — Google review
Amazing. Sushi. Rolls. Been buying sushi here for three years now and it's one of the best, most consistent sushi experiences I've ever had. The staff is friendly, professional, and accommodating. Wait times for sit down are decent, wait times for pick up are a bit long and they should work on that. If you're picking-up I would recommend ordering ahead by phone and giving them an extra 10-15 minutes no matter how long they say it'll take, I've always had to wait extra time. The wait is worth it though so I'm not too upset by it. The price is reasonable, the rolls I pick from are around $15-20 a roll but they do have more affordable options (~$10). They're a good size, flavorful, and taste fresh. Our go-to's are the Chula Vista Roll, the Bonita Roll, and the Orange-Lemon Roll. Plus, the soups are good too ! The restaurant is a little tight as the majority of the space is the kitchen. But it's a cozy space with a calm vibe. You can see the cooks for the most part but they do have some tables that are more private. Bathrooms are clean and the restaurant is too. Great food and experience !

Cocktail bar
Coco Maya is a vibrant bar that draws inspiration from the history of the Caribbean and Latin American regions. The menu features cane- and agave-based cocktails with citrus and spice infusions, offering both direct and fruit-forward options. The bar also serves up a variety of coffee cocktails, mimosas, Bloody Marys, micheladas, and mojitos during daily brunch. The decor is colorful and lively, creating a whimsical tropical atmosphere perfect for enjoying their refreshing drinks.
I’ve been to Coco Maya many times — it’s one of my go-to spots in San Diego. This visit was a Saturday afternoon before heading to an event, and I was thrilled to find out they were running happy hour on food (the host initially said no, but our server confirmed it). I ordered my favorite: carnitas nachos, which aren’t on the regular menu but pop up during happy hour. They were as delicious as ever and served in a portion size that’s generous without being overwhelming. The rest of my group had burgers, which they loved, and we shared fries that were good but took a backseat to the mains. Service started a little slow but was friendly and efficient, and they managed to turn our table quickly despite being busy and recovering from a large event. Coco Maya always delivers solid food, a fun atmosphere, and plenty of drink options.

After running the SD marathon I was super hungry and this place was the place we stopped to eat. The entrance gave a jungle/George of jungle vibes. As you entered the building you have to go up stairs where you'll be greeted by the host. Lots of natural light with a bar right in the center. Our waitress super nice and even recommended the shrimp plate seen in the picture below. The menu isn't super busy but enough to chose from. Food is good over all and it is a place I would come back to if I was in the area again. The prices are a bit on the higher end for drinks specifically but that's just my opinion.

100% honesty. I heard some not so great things about previous food experiences here, but let me tell you… the new chef at this restaurant is amazing! 10/10, no notes. In addition, to the fantastic cuisine, the waitstaff and host were so warm and inviting, which ultimately forced my hand in writing this review <3

Came as a large group and luckily they had a table for us. The drinks came out all at the same time which was appreciated. The food was delicious. I enjoyed my ceviche and others enjoyed the coconut shrimp and churros. I like that my drink was strong. There were plenty of styles of drinks to suit everyone. Overall a fun place to hangout and people watch

Cute!!! Got there right at 9am, first ones seated, our choice (helps to have reservations). I had the Pork Belly Benedict and the Bad Hunny. Both delicious! My friends ordered the Tropic Thunder, Power Bowl (vegan sub) and the Breakfast Sandwich. No take‐aways! We were celebrating my birthday and so I was surprised with a dessert 😊. Next visit will be for dinner!

Coco Maya definitely wins points for the vibe—scenic setting, breezy atmosphere, and the kind of backdrop that makes your cocktail look better on Instagram. The food? Decent. You’ll eat it, enjoy it, and probably forget about it by tomorrow. Service at the bar was fine—nothing offensive, nothing memorable, just kind of… there. I’d swing back if I was already in the area, but I’m not exactly rearranging my weekend plans for it. Solid hang, not a destination.

The Coco Maya is such a chic and beautiful restaurant! It gives Miami vibes with all the green plants, pink striped umbrellas, gold accents (including gold flatware) and a DJ! Even the drinks were beautiful! I was so excited when I saw they had a Boricua Bowl on the menu. The rice wasn't my favorite but the sofrito seasoned meat was a treat. I highly recommend this place for a chic brunch in the heart of Little Italy right near the farmers market. Get your girls together and Brunch! (Please not that these photos do NOT do the restaurant justice. It's soooo much more beautiful!)

I walked into this cool old bar in a town I don't really know and was polite and sober. I have not started to drink yet and the barmaid in a cypress hill hat yelled at me to leave and that I would not be served here. I calmly asked her why for there was absolutely no reason to not welcome me in. I wasn't wearing any clothing that represented any organization or team logos. Terrible service. I was very disappointed to not be at a place where I should be at home...

Terrible experience — would never go back. I had heard before that the bartender here had a bad attitude, and unfortunately, that turned out to be true. They were extremely rude, clearly in a bad mood, and handled our drinks carelessly — practically tossing them at us. The overall vibe of the place was unpleasant: it smelled weird, felt chaotic, and the bartender’s behavior only added to the negative atmosphere. Even security, who were honestly more welcoming than the staff behind the bar, encouraged us to give it another shot. We regret listening. Should’ve trusted our instincts. This place felt unprofessional and disrespectful from start to finish. There are plenty of better bars on Third. I highly recommend you go anywhere else but here.

Has good atmosphere. The Dj is a cool guy. And the karaoke they sing all genres. From rap to Mexican corridos. And the few times I've been there I have run in to cool and no drama people. So far also the bartender Julia she's cool and friendly

My friend was physically kicked by the drunk woman who runs the place while leaving the bathroom— there is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Do not support this business, please go to another bar.

Sometimes they are good with their pours other times very stingy and I have been charged different prices for the same drinks and I've never been there during a Happy Hour.
Dawn S — Google review
As a bartender, there have been times where my job application was to be able to make an old fashion. It’s the original cocktail. Very simple to make. Every bartender should know it. So when I hear a bartender tell me they can’t or won’t make one. It kinda tells me the place doesn’t have REAL bartenders. Just people who can pour the most basic drinks that any dingus can pour. So if you come here, that’s all you should expect. The most basic drinks requiring little to no effort. Cash only. Dive atmosphere. Pool. Darts. Fair prices Recommendation: any other bar who knows how to make drinks with more than 2 ingredients

I went here with my husband one late evening for a michelada and chicken wings because he said they were the best and he was right. The michelada was delicious and not overly prepared either. The Canyon Sports Bar and Grill is hands down one of my favorite local spots! My buddy Dave and his wife own the place, and you can truly feel their passion and pride in everything — from the food to the service to the welcoming atmosphere. Nestled in the vibrant Gaslamp District of San Diego, The Tipsy Crow is a historic tri-level bar that invites you to step into a charming vintage atmosphere. This unique venue combines classic decor with an array of entertainment options, including games, live music, and comedy shows. Each floor offers something special: the main level boasts an impressive selection of craft beers and pub grub, while the second floor features a sophisticated cocktail lounge perfect for sipping on signature drinks.
The Tipsy Crow always stands out — this place is built different. Nick Barns, the manager, sets the tone from the door. He’s a solid leader, longtime friend, and has that MMA background (Bellator status!) that shows up in how he runs the spot — with precision, respect, and presence. Gina the bartender was on point from start to finish. Great energy, fast service, and she makes you feel like a VIP with every pour. Live music by BJ Jezebera sealed the whole vibe — raw talent, smooth flow, and the kind of sound that brings the place to life. This isn’t just a bar — it’s part of the San Diego fabric. Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, The Tipsy Crow hits all the marks. Also would like to mention Charles the security guard . Very professional and on point.

Two floor club with good vibes! DJ played a lot of fun 2010 hits that we absolutely loved. Place was quite hot and stuffy and it closed by 1:30am. 5$ cover charge. We were there on a Saturday night and it wasn’t too crowded- definitely will want to come again!

The food was pretty good but on the pricier side. It was a little surprising that they had security at the front door on a Sunday afternoon but that speaks more about the San Diego & California government than them. When asking to see ids, security only wants driver's licenses. My global entry card which is issued by the US government via US customs & border protection, which has my photo and birth date, was not accepted.

The Tipsy Crow in San Diego’s Gaslamp has a fun vibe overall, but the experience was a bit mixed. The bartenders were fantastic — super friendly, fast, and made great drinks. Food and beverages were decent; nothing extraordinary, but definitely hit the spot for a night out. However, the security staff left a bad impression. They were rude when clearing out chairs from the bar area, making people who were already seated feel unwelcome. It definitely put a damper on the atmosphere. All in all, it’s a decent spot if you're looking for good service at the bar, but don’t expect the same friendliness from the security team.

We didn’t have dinner there because it was late when we arrived. But it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a drink. The staff was really friendly, and we ended up sitting by the bar and chatting with some other customers. The drinks are really good, and it’s not too expensive.

We had lots of fun here. The line to get in can be long but it moves fast. There’s a $5 cover on the weekend, but it felt very reasonable. Good vibes overall- there’s a small dance floor upstairs and the music was dope. Also our server was very pleasant and attentive. We’ll definitely be coming back

Came here with a group of friends and headed upstairs to the lounge. The main level has a dive bar vibe and underground is a night club. It’s an old building with lots of charm. The red carpart going up stars for sure need a make over. Upstairs was a narrow hallway with leather seats, fireplace, pole table. Has a dance floor with a deejay. Great street view of down town. I ordered the cucumber smash which was refreshing with gin and cucumber. Almost like gin and tonic. I love tequila so I got the pacific Paloma. It was probably bottom shelf because I did not enjoy this drink. It doesn’t have the best drinks but nice vibe. Parking in downtown is a challenge. You’ll have to parallel or pay at the meters. My friend found free parking along Seventh and F Ave. Whereas I parked at Park it on Market for $1 an hour every hour up to 6pm. After that it’s either $15 flat rate or $5 flat rate depending on the day of the week.

Staying in downtown San Diego and I went to Bubs primarily for their Wing Wednesday deal! The deal was 50% off wings. Got here at 3:30 pm, it was not busy and could easily find a table or place to sit. I ended up ordering an Firestone Walker 805 beer. For wings I ordered 5 Garlic Parmesan and 5 Lemon Pepper. The Lemon Pepper was super super good, amazing rub and flavor. The Garlic Parmesan was ok, great amount of garlic, lots of butter but not too much Parmesan. Both were solid but I definitely liked the Lemon Pepper. It also came with Ranch on the side which was nice. Overall solid place and I know it is a fan favorite before and after the Padres games.

Absolutely—here’s a more expanded and lively version of your review: --- At first glance, **Bub's** might not look like much—just another rowdy sports bar tucked into the heart of the Gaslamp, clearly positioned to catch the pre- and post-game crowds from the nearby ballpark. But don’t let the casual, no-frills exterior fool you—this place has two absolute aces up its sleeve: the **grilled wings** and the **queso dip**. Seriously, these wings are next-level. Perfectly charred, packed with flavor, and unlike anything I’ve had at any other sports bar, let alone one that caters to stadium traffic. And the queso? Rich, creamy, and so addictive you’ll be ordering another round before you finish the first. It’s the kind of comfort food that somehow manages to feel both elevated and entirely unpretentious. Drink-wise, Bub's leans into its identity as a high-energy hangout. You're not getting mixology theatrics here—and that's totally fine. Their **local beer selection** is solid, and the **giant margaritas** are a whole experience in themselves (think: fun, boozy, and built for a good time). Most mixed drinks cater to volume over nuance, so I usually stick with a beer or go big with the margarita when the mood hits. While it’s not a craft cocktail haven, Bub’s more than makes up for it with its laid-back vibe, crave-worthy bar food, and unbeatable location. If you’re looking for a fun, casual spot to grab a bite before a game or just hang out with friends, Bub's might just be one of the **best-kept secrets in the Gaslamp**.

Good food, good vibes. Had some buffalo wings and a cola. Sports bars aren't really my thing.

Went on a Thursday afternoon and the place was lively but not overwhelming. The wings were incredible—lemon pepper dry rub and mild buffalo, both packed with flavor and great quality. The food was so good I didn’t even stop for a picture. Service was excellent with fast drinks, quick food, and an attentive server. Can’t wait to come back and explore more wing flavors and other menu items!

I come here solely for their grilled saucey wings! They’re big and flavorful. Service is a little slow sometimes but the food comes out fast! My go to wing spot right now!

We had our one year Anniversary celebration yesterday at Romesco. From the reservation process with Ivette to the end of the night was just amazing. When we arrived everything was ready and just beautiful. Service by Gsutavo our waiter was Tremendous!!! He was so attentive and friendly. Sangria and all of the food that we ordered was delicious. Highly recommended 💜🤍

My friend and I came here to celebrate our birthdays together on a Saturday night. Definitely recommend making a reservation especially on the weekend as the place fills up fast. Plenty of parking available in the lot. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy. There's both inside and outside seating available. The service was great and efficient. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from and lots of different wines and cocktails available. The food was pretty good. It's worth a try if you're in the area! Food and drink review: Complimentary bread (always a plus)! Pinot Grigio: Very smooth and tasty. Caesar salad: (3/5) I was expecting it to be amazing here but it was very simple and not worth the hype. The fresh black pepper did help with the taste. Beef filet mignon carpaccio: (3.5/5) This was an interesting dish. The fried capers on top were definitely an interesting touch. Very small serving for the price. Wouldn't order again. Calamari fritti: (4/5) This was pretty good! Nothing spectacular. It was cooked well and had good texture. Bolognese Penne dish: (4/5) This was huge! It was very flavorful. Came with delicious melted cheese on top and I topped with chili flakes for an extra kick. You can definitely share this with the table. Lasagna: (4/5) It was pretty good but it was missing something. I wouldn’t order again.

The good: The lamb was on points The creamy mass potatoes under the lamb was on point. I don't know the exact name but they had these potato, cheese, bacon, breadcrumb balls that are so delicious with the dipping sauce. The bad: We actually sat outside and I felt a little neglected by the time we left My water had not been refilled so I was actually a little parched. The Ugly: When it's busy in here, it is extremely hard to get from outside to the bathroom. I felt like I was going to run into someone's table. Overall: The food was so delicious.I am more than likely going to come back but I am not going to come back during peak hours.

It was great . Ordered on line and food was ready at the time we requested. We had dined in before and ambiance was nice and the food was good but portions were surprisingly small ( Albondigas ). They looked big in the picture. I would rather have 2 BIG meatballs than be staring at 4 tiny little ones.

Wife and I regularly go here for some excellent selections of tapas and always the Caesars salad. Great Happy Hour prices and the tasty food never disappoints. Gil always provides excellent service at the bar and we regularly meet very nice people also enjoying the food and drinks at the bar. House guacamole is fresh and I enjoy the cazuelita de costilla de res and always the cazuelita de gambas. Hector also provides great and friendly service at the bar.

Food is ok. Staff is not overly friendly, but welcoming. Service was slow, price for brunch was $27.. I think the brunch is overpriced. Some of the food was fresh and tasty, others were stale and flavorless..I wont be going back any time soon . The best item was the smoked fish . The worst was the dry chilaquiles and the scrambled eggs that were almost crunchy on the edges.

Night club
The Whistle Stop Bar in South Park is a vibrant and eclectic neighborhood bar that offers a laid-back house party vibe. It hosts regular events such as game nights, live bands, DJ sets, art events, and dance parties. The bar frequently features indie and underground musical acts accompanied by a giant disco ball. With friendly staff and patrons, affordable drinks, and fast service, it's the perfect place to unwind.
One of my favorite places to see a show. It’s very casual and laid back. It’s an intimate way to catch artists who are rising in popularity. There is no stage per se, and the band is playing at the same level as the viewer. Because of this, it makes it almost feel like a house show which is fun. The drinks are solid and sometimes they even have rare beer releases like Pliny the Elder on tap. The neighborhood of South Park is also just a rad place to kick it before the show. The record store, local bars, and food nearby provide quite a lot of options before a show.

They have a drawing night every 1st and 3rd Tuesday which I attended. The bar puts paper down across all the tables and people come in with different drawing or coloring tools; pencils, paints, markers, crayons, etc. There were a LOT of people of all ages drawing next to one another. Everyone was super friendly and kind. The drink selection was good. I am unsure if they offer food or not. Great spot for a fun activity. I will be back.

They host a special event 2nd 4th and 5th Saturdays of the month called Booty Basement. A great DJ that spins a wonderful mix of old and new school music mostly hop hop/rap. If you wanna "swang" aka dance your night away this is the place to go. A great mix of people in age and ethnicity. Such a vibe!

Was in need of a place to change my phone in between shifts. The bartender was super helpful and easy to talk too. Everyone coming in and out seemed to be regulars at the time. Cool tucked in spot. That did have a pool table that I’ll have to be back to play on, Now that I know where this place is.

Wonderful neighborhood hangout. If you see Yacht Rock on the schedule you absolutely must attend. Look at the calendar for the kind of music you like and wear good dancing shoes!
Sara G — Google review
I like this place and have been to a couple of shows here. Good music, friendly bar tenders and great atmosphere. My only problem is that there is no real stage, so you see the performing bands at floor level, which makes it kinda awkward. They also have a disco ball that is on all the time, so if you are sensitive to this kind of these things. Booking has improved significantly, so many amazing shows in the last couple of months!

2 stars because I do in fact love this bar and go all the time. Good music and silly times. The reason my rating is so low is because I'm beyond disappointed krystina got let go. Went on Sunday and got my little heart destroyed with the news. She brought such a good energy and made it an extra safe space for the queers + love for her as a dj. While some customers find their prices to be higher compared to local competitors, many appreciate the wide selection available. The staff is praised for being helpful and knowledgeable in providing guidance and recommendations to customers.
A good selection of drinks, with and without alcohol, and helpful and knowledgeable staff. Love the buy one get one for five cents deal. All these factors combined make it worth a little drive versus ordering online. Now my go to place to pick up beverages and a little more.

Today is Friday 12/13/2024 9:02pm. We came shopping for Christmas party beverages, it’s our first time at the store and when we inquired on how to get the membership we were told that it was online only and when we asked if we should signed up before checking out, the cashier replied with “if you want” with a bad attitude. She backed away from the counter to continue chatting with her coworkers. The cashier wasn’t friendly, wasn’t informative, and didn’t seem to care. We looked for her name on the receipt to write a complaint, but she was logged in with someone else’s credentials. Poor costumer service!

Stumbled upon this place while visiting and I have to say it’s the perfect dive-y/casual bar atmosphere, great staff, and the best tacos I’ve ever had! My husband and I went back several times during our trip. Locally owned too. Seriously, just go

This bar is a hidden gem. Bar tenders and the bouncer are always welcoming and attentive. Food is delicious as well. The atmosphere is great and not usually as packed as Gaslamp bars a few blocks down, but with great beer selection. This is my go to bar every time I want something more lowkey.

Local San Diegan, had never been here before. Had friends come down from LAX, and they chose this place to watch the fights at. It was a good choice. Food was surprisingly good. A huge plus for the handmade tortillas. Even Mexican restaurants around here don't do that. The ambiance was great. Friendly staff. Maybe it's because I never go to bars, but I did find it a bit frustrating that no one came to our table. We had to keep going up to the bar to place our food and beverage orders, but it's not the end of the world. I would absolutely come here again and would highly recommend for a good time.

Absolutely love this place and have met some awesome people. Great bartenders and the bouncer is fantastic as well, as they have literally protected me and loved ones. Breaks my heart to feel so unwelcome due to this establishment's PublicSquare listing. Really the only spot in downtown I was upset to see the affiliation with.
Zach A — Google review
Great chicken wings (although the burgers aren't great); fun kitschy found-object decor. They get to keep an extra star for that. Unfortunately: a business being featured on PublicSquare is essentially a declaration of hostility towards a significant portion of its clientele. As such, I can no longer patronize them in good conscience.

Vogue Tavern is a lively German-inspired beer hall located in a Tudor-style building near the under-renovation Vogue Theatre. The owner, Dr. Gonzalo Quintero, has filled the space with 80s video-game art and pop-cult sci-fi paraphernalia, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The menu features German classics like schnitzel and sausage alongside salads, flatbreads, burgers, and wings. Despite modest portion sizes for the price, the food is delicious.
I stopped by Vogue Tavern for a little happy hour after getting a haircut nearby. They offer happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., with an extra perk on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. When I walked in, there was a decent crowd enjoying the specials, which is always a good sign. One of the things I love about their happy hour is the $5 margaritas with different flavor options—classic, mango, and even a spicy jalapeño version. For food, I ordered the chicken sliders, which were solid, and the bratwurst, which came with Dijon mustard. While the brat itself was good, it felt a bit plain—some grilled onions or another topping would’ve added more character. While the food and drinks were enjoyable, the service was lacking. I had to flag down a bartender/server to take my order, which I understand since there were only two of them running the whole place. However, when my food arrived, I said thank you, and the server just walked away without a response. No one checked in after a few bites, and when I was ready to close out, I had to wait quite some time before getting the check. As for the ambiance, the interior has a cool, masculine vibe, heavily influenced by Star Wars—there’s even a life-size Darth Vader statue and Star Wars-themed branding. There’s plenty of seating, including a few patio spots, and multiple TVs make it a solid spot to catch a game with friends. I also heard they’re working on opening a rooftop space, though they’re still waiting on permits. They used to have the best patio on Third Avenue, but unfortunately, that closed down post-COVID. One highlight is their great German beer selection, which adds to their appeal. I’ll definitely be back, but I wouldn’t rush back, as the hospitality was just okay. A little more attentiveness from the staff would go a long way in elevating the experience.
Ray G — Google review
Good food, chill local bar, good selection of beer and it feels so local and cozy. I am local to Chula vista but I had not been here, finally made it today and it did not disappoint. We ordered German sausage sandwich, burger and tater tots, all 3 dishes were great. I am definitely coming back and they are dog friendly too.
Natalia C — Google review
Vogue Tavern is a modern-day Cheers, where everyone knows your name, just like the TV show. The owner is a character all unto himself and goes out of his way to say hi every time. The beer selection is wild, stacked with tasty offerings you can't find anywhere else, even in today's beer-snob society filled with breweries on every corner. Located at the end of the microbrewery hub in downtown Chula Vista, it's the perfect starting point for a pub crawl with your buddies. Start with some good food and wild European beers, then walk over to the nearly 20 breweries, bars, and restaurants on this and the next two blocks, located on both sides of the street. The food choices are simple but all tasty, the beer is cold, and the conversation is always flowing with the other patrons and staff, so you'll always feel included if you want to be. Stop by and give them a try - you won't regret it.

Genesis makes an awesome Cosmo!!! Great $5 happy hour specials! Love the smash burger sliders, sinfully delish!! Crispy tater tots are the best!! Keep coming back frequently!! Love the staff. Also a great sports bar!
Kris H — Google review
Great spot to stop by in downtown Chula Vista - superb happy hour options (5 dollar draft beers, ranging from a German range if you want to try some new stuff, to local options you know and love). The food pairs perfectly with whats on tap, I've had the chicken schnitzel, bangers and mash, and pretzel bites (cant recommend the pretzel bites [which are fried pretzel bits which sound good on paper but really are a way to repurpose what Im assuming to be old pretzels], but the regular soft pretzel absolutely delivers). Drink and food wise, you cannot go wrong. The staff is also super friendly and helpful, this spot is truly a gem. I almost didn't want to leave a glowing review for fear of driving more foot traffic to this place, but they absolutely deserve it. Stop by.
Luis F — Google review

What a blast! This place throbs with a 90s grungy vibe. Boogieman DJ was kicking it old school during our visit and just set the ideal mood. Per usual, I tried the darks. Putin was an ideal imperial stout, but the oatmeal was bitter (come ON California, stop it with the hops in stouts! They should be smooth). The blueberry sour was ok, but not my fav. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, stay and dance, stay and drink, you do you and just hang. All is good here and it's perfect.

The first time you go your a stranger but it didn't feel uncomfortable because you could tell that you were in a friendly atmosphere. Good singers, delicious drinks, good company, excellent bartenders and an attentive KJ! Karaoke is on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 9:00 pm until closing. Pool tables and darts. If you don’t sing come by anyway … you’ll be glad you did. Hey you’ll probably see me there!

Pretty good atmosphere and fun on karaoke night. The only downside would be the bartender pisces, who routinely kicks people out for no reason, and is rude to the patrons. She commonly says this is my bar, so get out, making it where I will never go back
James S — Google review
Since new ownership has taken over, this fun dive bar, is no longer fun. They measure out drinks now and don't free pour. The bartenders are not friendly. They leave the bar to play pool with their boyfriends instead of tending to their patrons. I give it 2 stars because they did make some upgrades to the bar, which are really nice. Otherwise, the place has gone downhill. What used to be our favorite bar, is now the worst. We've given it chance after chance too. Very disappointing:(

First time coming here. I didn't know that it was a speak-easy! Cool! Enjoyed the ambiance in the room. Our bartender was badazz! Tried her recommended mix cocktails. Loved it! Food was terrific. We tried the PuPu platter! A mix of a few bite sized things. Just enough to make you keep on drinking. Mos def will be returning!

Tasty food from different tropic themed places such as Hawaii, Japan, Philippines. It was packed when we went there, and I think they were understaffed, but it took a while for us to get service (but our server was very kind and friendly and helpful). We got each of the three $7 happy hour items and they were all very good, especially the burgers. They were out of pulled pork. I got "mango sticky rice" and it had normal white rice and less than one bite worth of mango (the plate looked very pretty though) so I was a bit disappointed by that, but the rest of the food was great. Nice place and nice people.

Stopped by for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday. This was one of the hottest days of the year. We thought to come here due to the large open windows, assuming it would be a great place to have a celebratory meal with a nice breeze..... boy... we were wrong! I mean, the food is great, delicious, creative and fun; the staff was so nice and attentive but.... wow, was it hot in there, like hotter than outdoors. The poor staff were all sweaty. Even though their huge window was open, there was no air flow at all. Turn on the AC or get some high powered fans, especially in 90+ degree weather! All staff was sweating. What if they sweat all over my food? When we mentioned it to the wait staff we were informed repeatedly that the owner refuses to add fans. We ate as fast as we could so we could get out of there! We practically ruined the menus because we all used them to fan ourselves. We totally would have stayed longer but it was unbearably HOT! We left and went to a bar across the street that has high powered fans in front of their huge windows. I would not recommend coming here on a hot day unless they decide to turn on the AC or add fans.... or if you want have a drink in a sauna. I would return during cold weather because I did like the drinks and the food was really good... but I am not willing to risk a heat stroke for it. For this reason I am giving this place a single star under atmosphere.

This is our new spot to come to after work for their fun drinks and great apps. We love the fries and sliders off the Happy Hour menu. Get the signature drink too, Lime in the Coconut, comes with a "show". We have had quite a bit off the dinner menu and it was on point. Christian, who has been our server almost all the time we are there is a huge part of why we come back. He is a great asset to that place. Always helpful and seems like he enjoys his job. We feel like we are welcomed every time. Third Ave is changing for the better and love to support local and not have to deal with downtown SD craziness when we have amazing places in Chula.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Lime in the Coconut X Speakeasy, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was lovely, with its unique decor and cozy lounge area. The staff went above and beyond. It was perfect, making me feel incredibly special on my big day. The cocktails were absolutely divine, especially their scorpion bowl with an awesome fire show to it. We also ordered different drinks like the Tangerine Dream, Saturn and etc. But there's one drink taht is really pretty in a 🐚 called the King Kamehameh. The food was really good. We ordered the Boa Buns amd the fish tacos. For dessert we got the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream on top. It's sooo warm and goodness 😍. Overall, Lime in the Coconut Speakeasy made my birthday unforgettable. I highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a fantastic night out. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable!

Our waitstaff person, Cassie, was amazing. She was personable had good recommendations and very attentive. I had the Tangerine Dream to drink and it was very tasty. My friend had a Mai Thai, which also looked very good. We ordered the Poo Poo Platter, Poke Nachos, and two things of the Coconut shrimp. I highly recommend the Coconut shrimp. The spicy vinegar sauce was amazing! It was really cool entering through the alley door into the speakeasy, which was decorated tiki hut style. I loved the pufferfish lights hanging from the ceiling and the vibe of the place. Kevin, the owner even came over and chatted with us. This was a great experience and I will definitely be back!

Great food…but expect a different twist on things. Not your normal flavors but in a good way! Flavors like wasabi in potato salad just sound like crazy mixes but definitely tasted amazing. Strong drinks too! Will definitely go back to keep exploring the menu.

Chee-Chee Club is a historic dive bar located in San Diego Downtown, known for its old-school vibes and chilled bartenders. It offers a mix of everything, making it a fun and cheap-and-cheerful spot. The bar features pool tables, good music, and a selection of microbrews on tap along with top and bottom shelf liquor options.
If you’re looking for a dive bar, this is the place! Just far enough off the main strip that the bar doesn’t get crowded. Cheap drinks and they’re always planned some old 80s or 90s movie. The bar felt welcoming and grungy at the same time I would definitely go again.

We are stoked on our neighborhood spot! Can't believe how nicely it's cleaned up, prices are reasonable, local art is great, and the company is a hoot.

If you plan on going here, it’s cash only so take money out of your bank or pay the fees for using the ATM there. Wait times for the pool table are not long and the atmosphere is always pretty chill. The bartender is super cool as well..

Awesome dive bar and good beer! My wife and I were visiting from out of town and this was one of my favorite bars. Everyone there was really nice and the service was great! The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that they were cash only.

Restaurant
Madam Bonnie’s, located in a historic building dating back to the 1920s, is an elegant speakeasy and jazz club with a haunted reputation. The space features exposed brick, sleek banquettes, and three large colored glass chandeliers, making it suitable for various occasions. The cocktail menu offers a variety of options including spirit-forward drinks, refreshing mocktails, wines by the glass or bottle, and a daily beer selection.
This is my second visit in two years, and I'm really impressed by the improvement in quality, service and ambiance. I ordered calamari appetizer, cheese and meat board, as well as the steak and salmon dishes. Each option was exceptional—fresh with generous portions. The salmon, in particular, is one of the best meals I've had in San Diego in quite some time. I'll definitely be ordering it again. The restaurant hosts live jazz performances every Friday from 7-8pm. Wheelchairs accessible.

If you find yourself in San Diego, you MUST include Madam Bonnie's to your list of places to visit! It's an incredible piece of San Diego's history, that actually started out as a Brothel, but has burnished its reputation over the years, and morphed into a wonderful and classy place to dine and drink. You'll love the history of this place! Mason, the very welcoming Manager at Madam Bonnie's contributes to the charm of the place. He is always ready to take you on a stroll through the history of this wonderful establishment. We totally loved the place and the people!! And we'll always look forward to visiting Madam Bonnie's again any time we're in San Diego!

A non-profit that I work for held a reception at Madam Bonnie’s in June 2024 and it was phenomenal! From the attention to detail to the staff going above and beyond for our group, it was amazing. For the event, we wanted to have a ‘whiskey flare’ and have ‘Tennessee’ themed foods. Then Mason and the MB team aged Jack Daniel’s speciality for us, had a list of five incredible and fresh cocktails created in house, and worked with us to have Nashville hot chicken and Memphis BBQ with a Madam Bonnie’s touch. On top of it all, the music and the staff were fantastic. It was truly one of the best social events and logistical experiences I have had in my career planning and promoting receptions. If you want to host an event in San Diego, reach out to Mason and the Madam Bonnie’s team; you will be in great hands.

We were seated quickly by Abby, the hostess, at a charming 2-top at the window. Richard, our server was prompt and friendly, bringing us water and our drinks in short order. Our food orders arrived at the perfect time (right after we finished the cheese board) and they were both absolutely delicious! I had the truffle salmon with pasta and my spouse had chicken cavatappi. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. The manager, Mason, stopped by our table as we were finishing up to make sure our meal was satisfactory. We assured him that 10/10 we'd be back again. We'll be bringing friends with us!

Breeza's professionalism at Madam Bonnie's elevates the experience to a new level; a visit is a must! Last night, my husband and I went to Madam Bonnie's for the first time to celebrate my cousin's birthday. From the moment we arrived, Breeza was attentive and familiarized us with the drinks and food items she recommended. She also gave us a little history lesson on the origin of Madam Bonnie's, which I loved! We only intended to go for drinks, but thanks to Breeza's suggestion, we decided to have the goat cheese stuffed mushrooms, which were amazing! Breeza, the other staff members, and her boss, George, whom we had the pleasure of meeting, were all fabulous. Their attentiveness and friendliness ensured we had a great time, and we did! The atmosphere is excellent. I love the architecture of old buildings, and their decor was charming. I am already planning to come back with my girlfriends. I was so happy that our first experience at Madam Bonnie's was as fabulous as it was, and I look forward to returning, especially when Breeza is working!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. Mason welcomed us in and took us right to a table with comfortable bunker seating and chairs in a very well designed and enjoyable room with a lovely atmosphere. Everyone we interacted with on staff was pleasant and attentive, and the craft cocktails were spectacular. The food was designed for a Mother's Day styling and looked beautiful with great flavors and portion sizing. Highly recommended this establishment for an overall cohesive and satisfyingly elevated dining experience

We chose to go here for Valentine’s Day, they had a special experience with jazz music playing that was absolutely phenomenal to listen to on this holiday. Although we got to our reservation on time service was a bit slow, they were very transparent that they were backed up and clearly working very hard which we appreciated and you could tell from the hostess to the waiters and bartenders it was a well run ship. I’m not sure if the drinks or food we had would be on the regular menu but they were all very good, especially for making red/pink drinks for Valentine’s Day. Parking is hard as always in Gaslamp I would recommend parking further away and walking or taking a taxi/uber. The prime rib was giant and well cooked I’d have it again, my wife loved the chicken pot pie and saved some for leftovers for lunch the next day and loved it the same. We skipped out on desert since we were running out of time (they were only letting us sit for about 1.5 hours). We would love to come again on not such a crazy night to sit at the bar, enjoy the aesthetic, and hopefully catch some jazzy tunes again!

Revelers flock to this triple threat bar, bowling alley & casual eatery serving American cuisine.
These place was such a landmark of Eastlake. They had a great set up, it was great for families, work gatherings, friends and taking time to relax and entertain, my kids attended several birthday parties there and we celebrated our kids with their friends several times. I was just perfect, the place will be missed and we wish it will stay. Not sure why they left but it'll be miss. Service was good, good was ok, the attendants were very nice and very fast to take care of us and when it came to prices it was perfect for our family and work gatherings. All and all it will be miss. Thanks for all this year's of good times.

Fun place wish it wasn't as expensive because sometimes the cocktails are better than others but overall good snacks and atmosphere. Nice to have a bar in Eastlake open late! Bowling here is fun too :) the red gummi is my favorite drink and the garlic fries are great!
Jay K — Google review
Been here many times and 99 percent of the time the service sucks. They have a Great DJ and that's it. Horrible bartenders and food. Filthy bathrooms. You must make a serious effort to flag down a bartender to get a drink even when the place isn't that busy. Tonight my wife and I sit at the bar and we're never approached despite attempts to get their attention. Curiously the white bartender guy waited on single women and men who walked up after us while we waited and waited. He walked past us numerous times and replaced cocktail glasses and such without any regard for our hand waving and stares. You can sit at the bar with no drink or service indefinitely. I almost thought of experimenting with the time it would take. Nobody will ask you what you need. The black guy working behind the bar just flat out ignored everything You can holler at some and they just ignore you. If you're an attractive female with cleavage perhaps you may get quicker service or more frustrating, we seen 3 other parries arrive at the bar after us and leave with drinks before us. This has been standard service for years yet I gave them another opportunity tonight, WHY?! . The second set of drinks we ordered the white guy bartender literally tossed the credit card and receipt holder along with the pen that rolled across the bar. RUDE!! The only reason this place keeps going is good DJ, meat market, Bowling for the kids, pool tables and it's the only place in the Eastlake area of its kind. This place needs serious improvement on service. Zero tip for the bartenders! If you don't like your job or give 2 cents about customer service you're in the wrong business.
Frank C — Google review
Poor service...waited a long time to even be acknowledged. Took a while for my beer to come out and had a hard time making a drink for the other individual I was with. Finally was able to place order for food...was actually cooked pretty quickly. I ordered the fish and chips...very bland and chips were soggy (definitely not fried twice ha). Date had the wings which did not look too bad. Overall, the scene is cool, a lot of tvs and massive bar area. Truly and good place to watch fights. With that said I would be prepared to encounter not the best service and maybe grab a bite to eat before going there for beers? I went at a very busy time so do take that in consideration. O and the damn alarm kept beeping, drove me crazy.
Tony M — Google review
The service at this area is just okay. We ordered food and never received it until we reminded the server about it. The lanes aren't properly waxed and causes issues with bowling itself. The atmosphere and area are nice, although a bit small. It's family friendly and offers good food and drinks at decent prices. All in all it's a decent alley to go to for drinks and bowling in one
Rafael C — Google review
Came for a mid afternoon bowl with the kids. Had some delicious pizza and pitchers of soda while we were there. The food was excellent, service was awesome and the kids had a blast bowling. I'd really like to go back without them some evening. Looks like a fun 'adult hangout'!
Roxanne D — Google review
I love the location and layout. However the service is always just okay. I have to get up and ask for things all of the time if not I'll just be waiting. For example yesterday I had to ask for plates, silverware, kids venues and refills, however I had to get up and asks different servers because mine was never around. We were also waiting for a bowling alley to bowl and we were on a weight list with a pager for an hour-and-a-half, yet I was looking at three empty lanes for about 45 minutes. When I went to go ask they told me I was next whenever a Lane opened up. Long story short, they ended up giving me the lane that was open for 45 minutes so we waited for nothing. I will still give them a three-star because I hardly give ones and only give low stars when people are rude. They weren't rude just not on it and made me waste my time. It was Sunday funday with My Kids so I tried not to get upset but with so much competition in the shopping center the offer kids activities, they need to step up their game.

Such a great place to go after work for food, drinks, and a little fun. My coworkers and I went to celebrate a promotion. Our food was delicious and there were lots of options to share. We were able to play pool while enjoying a drink, pizza, and wings. Their wings are delicious! They’re great on their own and served with sauce on the side. Their pizza is super cheesy. The service was great as well!

The staff is rude we were waiting for this place to open and when someone unlocked the door they didn’t open the door for us or greet us or acknowledge us at all. The lady at the game area was rude too and wouldn’t help us with getting credit back because we swiped a game that was 8$ on accident. The games are expensive and not worth it and the prizes are so cheap. It’s crazy

Delilah at the game section was not able to help me and she was rude with a terrible attitude. I asked to speak with who is in charge and she claimed to be the manager of the area.
