Amusement park
Yorks Wild Kingdom is a family-friendly zoo and amusement park located in York Beach, Maine. It's the largest zoo in the state and offers a variety of activities for visitors. From exotic wild animals to local wildlife, there's plenty to see and do. The park features paddle boats, rides, miniature golf, arcade games, and even a haunted house. Visitors can also enjoy interactive exhibits such as feeding goats, ducks, deer, and parakeets.
Place was amazing I am 62 my husband is 65 we stopped on a whim while visiting Maine never have I ever walked into a butterfly exhibit they were just flying all over the place just beautiful. And the parakeet exhibit where you can buy little sticks with bird food and they land on your stick was amazing all the animals looked healthy and happy bonus were there at feeding time.i could go on and on .Loved it.
Virginia M — Google review
Enjoyed the little zoo they had and the interactive exhibits from feeding birds, goats, deers, ducks and the camel rides also the little carnival they had was a nice addition. The family had a great time the only complaint I really have is you have to watch while walking on there paved walk ways over the years tree roots have made it bumpy so there some real bad areas you could easy trip if your not careful.
Joseph T — Google review
First I'd like to say that some of the exhibits were awesome, such as the butterfly kingdom, parakeet exhibit, goats, and duck pond--those animals seemed to be so happy and thriving! Honestly I would go again just to see and interact with those exhibits. However, some of the other animals seemed to be in very small enclosures, were by themselves (from what I could see, but I understand that I was only there for a short period of time and do not know the ins and outs of caring for these animals), and seemed lethargic. The bathroom by the entrance was disgusting and desperately needed to be cleaned/sanitized. Stalls were out of toilet paper as well, so more attention to the bathroom conditions is definitely needed. Overall, it was not a bad experience and it had some really cool exhibits, but there are a few areas to improve in my opinion.
Kelsie P — Google review
Visited here with my daughter while vacationing in Maine. Lots of fun animals to see. The otter in the added video was immensely entertaining and there were areas where kids could feed goats, deer, ducks and geese- bring your quarters for the food. We went on a weekday when it was barely 70 which is probably ideal as most of the animals were out and at least looking around as opposed to hiding from the heat. It does seem like they removed some animals from years ago when we last visited but there's still a good selection especially for the young ones.
Stephen K — Google review
Very cool and interactive zoo! The butterfly room and bird feeding rooms are so cool. Petting the goats is cool too. It doesn't look like much of a zoo upon entry, but don't let this book's cover judge the rest of it! It is a fantastic zoo and we have been to over 15 zoos this year in New England.
James G — Google review
We had a blast. We saw kids , baby goats and 2 different types of monkey babies. A few large cats, zebra. The butterfly garden was really nice. Lots of exotic animals. Kids under 48" will get to ride the most rides . But there was still a few rides for the bigger kids. A very nice beach is a 7 minute walk from the rear entrance of the park through a commercial street with many food options and the typical tourist traps.
Ohmanifeelfunny — Google review
for such a small zoo, they have a lot of cool animals. They have tigers, lions, but no bears sadly lol. They have a lot of monkeys, and birds. My sons favorite where the birds and butterfly house. The cost is great 18$ for adults, but they do charge for 2 and under. overall will be visiting again, had a great time.
Alyssa C — Google review
It's such a fun place. I will warn you that you will need quarters to feed some of the animals. It's very clean and they have a place to purchase snacks and drinks in the park as well as at the entrance. They have nice signs that tell you about the animals. It's spread out nicely, so there's no bunching. Feeding the parakeets was my kids' favorite part. Each feeding stick was $2.50, and it's best that each kid has one. I highly recommend going for kids between 2-15. You can bring strollers, but some of the paths are bumpy, so make sure it's sturdy.

Candy store

The Goldenrod, a historic landmark established in 1896, is a beloved destination for beachgoers and families. It offers a delightful array of homemade treats including fudge, ice cream, and their renowned New England salt water taffy known as Goldenrod Kisses. The old-school neon-style signage outside adds to its nostalgic charm. Visitors can indulge in classic New England fare at the traditional dining room or enjoy the bustling candy counter and soda fountain.
Got two warm lobster rolls each 25$ and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of lobster in each. I've been coming to short sands for years and wish I would have done this sooner. I'll definitely be getting more 🦞 rolls here again.
Katie — Google review
Old fashioned soda shop with candy store inside where they make homemade salt water taffy. Not too many food options on the menu but the grilled chicken club was pretty good, if only they had fries as an option. I didnt order any ice cream but other customers had some good looking sundaes :)
Maria G — Google review
The nostalgia of this place is off the charts. My parents were going here over 60 years ago and it has changed very little. A lot of comfort. Food is good but relatively basic. Taffy machines still produce the same candies.
Odalys S — Google review
One of the only places you can watch them make taffy in the world! They're still using 70 year old machines to make candy, you can watch the stages of boiling, placing it on the taffy puller, and the packing machine. It's mesmerizing and a fun, free experience, until you go inside of course! Sit at the bar and have an ice cream soda, shop for candy, gifts, or stay for lunch. It's a great time and fun for everyone.
Kurt — Google review
Kathleen from Finestkind told us about this place on the boat tour so we had to check it out. Super crowded but the kids behind the register are very attentive and get your order done quickly and accurately. Taffy and chocolate are excellent and it was fun to check out a working taffy shop and see the production in action.
Sarah M — Google review
I read about Goldenrod in an article about some of the best hidden gems. Now im positive this place would pop up without being hidden but its nestled in the cutest nook of other restaurants, stores and gift shops. Being a busy Sunday by the beach we figured it would be busy. The little neighborhood was filled with people enjoying all York had to offer . The paid parking was easy to access onto our phones and pay as well. The app even came with a countdown option to tell you when your time was up or even to add more time which you may once you see what's around to explore. The resturant nestled right in the center had a window to view the taffy being pulled. Inside had all options of candy and chocolate for whatever you may desire. We had no wait for a table and our waitress was so kind. The food was soo delicious and prices were reasonable . Our little family enjoyed it all.
Shaina R — Google review
Going along with the whole vibe of this beach village, The Goldenrod is about as classic New England Americana as you can get! We didn't eat here, but got a box of the taffy. There were a ton of different flavor options and the price was reasonable. The younger girl behind the counter was so nice, and she seemed amazed (in a sweet way) that we had heard of the place from YouTube and that we were from Alabama. 😂
Alabama O — Google review
Been coming here with my family since I can remember. The taffy is out of this world and brings me so much nostalgia. Always really cool to watch it get stretched out on the machines from the windows and smell the ocean air.

Video arcade
Fun & Games
Game & Entertainment Centers
Fun-O-Rama is a beachside amusement arcade located on Short Sands Beach, offering over 200 video and arcade games in a 10,000-square-foot pavilion. The atmosphere is reminiscent of old-fashioned seaside arcades with a honky-tonk circus vibe. Visitors can enjoy vintage and new arcade games, as well as try their hand at bowling. The arcade is perfect for families and provides entertainment for both young and old, making it an ideal option on rainy days.
Fun-O-Rama in York is a true gem! It's a vibrant arcade, bursting with a wide array of games catering to all age groups. The lively atmosphere coupled with the friendly staff makes your visit even more enjoyable. Whether you're a fan of classic or modern games, there's something for everyone. Don't miss out on the chance to win some cool prizes. A must-visit spot for family fun or a nostalgic trip down memory lane! Sorry I didn't get a whole lot of pics!
Peter P — Google review
This place is a shell of what it may remember it being. I would say around 38% of the games are out of order, which is sad, as many of these games should be preserved with care. Instead, they are shoved into corners and left to decay with the salty air. Many of the games that were “working” had mechanical issues, most to the point of inoperability. There is still a lot going on, and much fun to be had, but I would meter your expectations as best as possible. Also, the staff all seem depressed. It doesn’t help the atmosphere, and I hope they are okay.
Kenzie A — Google review
It feels as though you stepped into a time machine at Fun-O-Rama. I would say 45% of the games didn't function properly or at all. Still had a nice time. Not very clean.
George T — Google review
Yikes! Who's in charge of this place? Not that I blame them because what a terrible job but staff seems like a bunch of checked out teens with no personality. First two games we tried just took our money, got refund. Continued our rounds with $20 worth of quarters and found many machines out of order and not marked, some worked but not correctly etc. It was honestly a joke. So many games took our money it wasn't even worth walking up to counter every 2 minutes for refund. Aweful shell of an arcade that hasn't spent any money on upkeep..
Mathew D — Google review
Awesome classic, old-school arcade! It really makes you feel like it's the late 80s again! (assuming you're old enough) And if you're not old enough to remember, well then this is pretty much the vibe! The arcade games (at least the ones we played) were still only 25¢, which is unheard of. A great place to spend an hour or so hanging out!
Alabama O — Google review
This is a large arcade by the beach, so it's fun to come down and play some arcade games. As other reviews have stated, there are a few games aren't working, and it's obvious because they're not on, so you don't try to play them. The problem is when the game is on but doesn't work or give out tickets, and you've wasted your money on it. That just shows its a poorly run arcade. Overall it's fun. There are some brand new arcade games mixed in with all the other ones.
Cameron T — Google review
This place has the perfect variety of video games and ticket games! Although some of the games could use some maintenance (like waverunner and Daytona USA) but overall, I had fun here! Staff were super friendly and those other reviews don’t give this place enough credit. My dad went here as a kid and they still have the machines he used to play on! Overall 7/10 experience.
Retrogamer 7 — Google review
The selection looked great. SO MUCH of it was broken and not marked out of order. At least two pinball machines (champions pub and the Star Wars one) took one quarter and then didnt recognize the next one. Time Crisis and Silent Scope had broken light guns, so i paid and then couldn’t actually play the game. Theater of Magic played fine but took ages to return balls once they were locked or went to the trunk, and High Roller soft locked when I locked a ball and it just never came back. Completely unacceptable and a giant disappointment.

The Stonewall Kitchen York Company Store is a bustling specialty market with a cafe that offers fresh and healthy dishes made with their finest products. The store showcases the wide range of items produced by Stonewall Kitchen, including sauces, jams, cookware, niche home goods, and local decor. Visitors can enjoy browsing through the variety of gluten-free options and unique products while also indulging in free samples.
Such a delightful cafe, with Harney & Sons Teas (and a decent selection in both the cooler section as well as the cafe! They did have decaf espresso, which I appreciated, and lots of freshly baked goodies as well as the shelf stable items they are famous for.

I took my grandmother here during the week and we had a very nice time. The campus is beautiful, and they have every jam, syrup, and sauce you could think of. The staff was also very kind. My grandmother and I both wished they had some local items to purchase with stonewall branding, but anything that wasn't food wasn't worth the look. A lot of plastic dishes, bowls, etc. We were surprised, honestly.

Re updating my account that was deleted. I review lobster rolls and this is what I received from stonewall kitchen. First off let’s talk about price. At over 50$ and the highest I ever paid for a lobster roll in the state of Maine I had extreme high hopes for this one. That each bite would be orgasmic. That fell short however! The bun itself was fine, and presentation looked amazing! However the lobster was fishy, rubbery, dry and disappointing. This was not only the most expensive lobster roll in Maine but also the worst I’ve had in Maine. My advice to anyone is to steer clear of this place for their lobster rolls because what I got that day quality wasn’t a thought on their mind. Instead go to la pizzeria In Ogunquit Maine where their lobster rolls look the same but are amazing. You can almost buy three lobster rolls there for the price of one at stonewall kitchen.
Brandon M — Google review
I love visiting the home stores for special companies and this was a great one! I, my husband and son all loved what we had for lunch. The store was beautiful and the fall colors around it made it all perfect. Highly recommend lunch here!
Shana F — Google review
Yummy breakfast! The blueberry jam is a must. The bacon is melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Simple, delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
Gina L — Google review
Stonewall Kitchen’s flagship in York, Maine offers more than shelves of gourmet jams and sauces—it’s a full experience. Visitors can explore the Company Store, enjoy fresh bites at the café, and even peek into the production floor to see how their famous products are made. The grounds shift with the seasons: blooming gardens and outdoor seating in summer, cozy meals and warm drinks in the colder months. From lobster rolls to pastries, the café adds another layer to the visit, making it a destination as much as a shop. For anyone traveling through southern Maine, this stop blends specialty foods with New England charm. It’s a place to taste, learn, and linger, capturing the essence of local flavor in a way that keeps people coming back. #stonewallkitchen #yorkmaine #newenglandfood #roadtripnewengland

Great service! Of course, I love the opportunity to sample items which always nudges me to buy more than I anticipated ;) During this particular trip, there were some great sales on seasonal products. I picked some up in anticipation of gift-giving. The person who checked me out was lovely. She was very helpful with questions I had. I even inquired about a job there which she shared how much she enjoyed working there. I will be back for some of their holiday gift sets!
Becky N — Google review
I was out shopping with a colleague who expressed an interest in cookware and condiments. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly lady as we entered the store. As we made our way to the back, I noticed a tall young man wearing glasses. We continued shopping and browsing, and after making a full circle back to the cashier, I saw the same man organizing items on a countertop. He was not too far behind us and then went behind the cash register when we approached to pay for my colleague’s items. At the time, it didn’t hit me, but I strongly believe we were being followed. We were the only two Black females in the store and likely within a five-mile radius. I asked my colleague if she had noticed anything unusual, and she said she wondered where he had come from. I was hesitant to write about this experience because people often dismiss these feelings. However, I must say that this happens frequently to people of color and that it was an uncomfortable experience overall. I have experience working in customer service, and as part of the training, we are told not to follow customers. If someone steals, your life is more important, and you are advised to prioritize customer service. However, he chose to follow us and smile in our faces as we paid and left.

We were looking for somewhere to eat breakfast on the beach. We had never been to York before and found this cute little purple diner right across the street from the ocean. Our greeter, an elderly man was very kind and efficient. We could dine inside or outside. We chose inside. Love the purple theme! They had original pictures on the wall of the area for purchase. The waitresses were efficient and attentive. For being short staffed they did a good job. They did not give us drink refills, the pancakes tasted a little off and there were hardly any strawberries on our strawberry pancakes. The hash browns were amazing! We thought it was a bit overpriced but maybe that's because we're not from the area? If there was nowhere else to eat for breakfast I might either again.
Haley S — Google review
First red flag was when we walked in and saw this 80+ year old hosting and washing tables with dirty mop water. Home fries were burnt, servings were small, ham was harder then a hockey puck, hot chocolate was made with water and when I asked if we could do milk she said we have no way to heat the milk up 🙄so y'all ain't have microwaves now ah days? Menu says the place has been around 50+ years, my guess would have been 80+ with how out dated everything was. If you're sitting in a booth your heads are so close with the people behind you that they could spread lice to you. Flys were swarming us while we ate, also took a veryyyy long time to get our breakfast 45+ minutes for three meals. EXTREMELY FRIGID INSIDE**** Bring a coat, or better yet DO NOTT GOO HEREEEE!

Cute place. There is too much oil on the Avocado toast and it has no taste. I would go back but try something else.
Karen E — Google review
Took very very very long time(1 hr) to get the food. Everybody includes two little kids were starving to get their first energy input. It is just ridiculous! I wish nobody gets the same experience as us. Food portion is very small and no way “the best breakfast” in town.
Feiqi J — Google review
This is an interesting place. The ambiance is old school diner and the service was really quite friendly. I have been a few times with my children and the server knew how to really work with them. As for the food, it is what it is. Don’t go in expecting some amazing breakfast and keep your bill down with breakfast special orders and 2 dollar pancakes. That makes the stop worth while.
Matt K — Google review
Good breakfast, everything was cooked well and tasty. They were good about allergies but cook everything on one grill top so my youngest with an egg allergy missed out on bacon NBD. They do have an unusual ordering method, but it makes sense for short staffed restaurants. Let me break it down 1. Tell them you’re there 2. Get menus 3. Sit at any empty table 4. When you’re ready to order go to the counter and tell them what you want. 5. Pay and take a number 6. Grab your napkins, silverware, waters and drip coffee (they have espresso drinks juice and smoothies and will bring those to you) 7. When the food is ready they bring it to your table 8. Eat!
Celelana A — Google review
Great breakfast, plenty of choices, and reasonable prices. For those who have not been there appears to be an unadvertised process: select your table, inside or out, go to the register to get the menu, and return (and stand in line) to the register to order. They give you a number one places on the table to deliver the food when ready. I ordered avocado toast with a fried egg which I loved, spouse ordered bacon and eggs, and for the toddler the 1 chocolate chip pancake (the size of the plate) was perfect.

Sand Dollar Bar & Grille is a seasonal favorite located on the second floor with a porch that offers a great view of Short Sands. The bar provides live music and delicious seafood, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a glass of wine. The accommodating staff ensures that guests have an enjoyable experience, and the menu offers fresh and tasty options such as nachos, margherita pizza, lobster Cobb salad, and salmon with rice.
I recently visited this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the cozy ambiance. You have the option to sit inside or on the balcony. Since it was a beautiful day, most people wanted balcony seating, which led to a 20-minute wait, but we opted to sit inside, and it was just as lovely. We tried two different burgers, both cooked to perfection with juicy meat. The meals came with fries and a side of salted cucumber, which was a nice touch. Kids' meals are priced at $9.99, and the burgers range from $16 to $20. Overall, it was a great experience with solid food and a nice atmosphere!

Food was awesome. Only downfall was the service. It was good until it came time to pay. Was never informed that they don't split the bill until they wanted payment. When asked if we could split it for them, we recieved an attitude after doing the waitress job for her. She still mixed it up and was seen giving dirty looks while putting the cards through.

The best lobster roll we have had yet in the New England states. We like how they would bring the butter and mayonnaise on the side. The French fries were also a winner. Extra good. Clam chowder was so creamy and full of clams. This is how clam chowder is supposed to be. Our cake was over the top decadent. Our top choice in eateries!! A defendant standout.

Food & drinks are always pretty good here, although it can be quite difficult to get in, even in the off-season. We've been asked, with no tourists around and the place half empty, if we had a reservation. But I get it, this is the nexus of tourist Maine. The menu is a bit on the old-fashioned side; your grandparents will *love* it, but regardless, everything has always been expertly prepared. Take it from a local whose family has been here since the 1950's - it's a classic that's been here forever, and is worth visiting.

4.5. We reserved a table for 2 ahead of time and were sat on the “grill” side not realizing the pub side was on the other side with a completely different menu. The pub menu is what we looked at online and had more things we like to eat. Fortunately, when we spoke up to our waitress she said we could order from the Pub menu, keep our table, and not have to wait for a table on the other side. This was awesome and appreciated! Our waitress was Pam and she was very attentive and nice. She even recommended a place with live music down the street for us to check out! We got the quesadilla and chicken parm. Both were excellent! Right across from Union Bluff is a beautiful beach. Inside for dining was comfortable and cozy.

We arrived for dinner service and we were seated promptly near the window. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Our food was excellent, we had the nachos, which were huge and enough for two, along with drinks and dessert. Wonderful experience!

Great location and ambiance to - doesn’t open until 1130, so we got there a few minutes early and were able to score a table by the windows, overlooking the beach! Food was wonderful and the server was very attentive.

The views from the patio are great and you cam even enjoy drinks on the green just off the beach! We only shared a snack of clam chowder but it was very tasty! Looking forward to a return trip for a meal!!

Came here for lunch. Most restaurants in York, ME are poorly reviewed. This one is the best. Tried several others which were either terrible, overpriced, or a combo of both.. This one is the best in the short sands area within walking distance to the beach. Our waitress Julia was attentive, efficient, and top notch. Food delicious and prices reasonable. There are about 5 outdoor tables and indoor seating as well. Highly recommend.

Woodys Brick Oven Pizza is a cozy pizza spot that offers a variety of oven-fired pies with diverse toppings and calzones in a simple setting. Customers have praised the delicious NY style pizza, friendly staff, and efficient service. The establishment has been described as a great find in York Beach, offering accurate online ordering, on-time pickups, and excellent value for money. If you're looking for top-notch brick oven pizza with an array of toppings, this place comes highly recommended by satisfied customers.
First time at the Woody. I've been in and around York village since the mid 90s with my parents. Now in 2025 I took my wife & young daughter to Woodys. My wife called in our order. They said 15 minutes it took 45 minutes. I understand tho, they got a big order at the same time. I was disappointed in the size of the actual pizza joint. It was neat and vintage with the scuffed up floor and old-school feel but no tables to sit at. One of the tables had "Reserved" on it, oh well. It's kinda an F.U. to the tourists but it happens. I had to walk around the York village with my daughter & wife until my pizza was ready. Tho, we still had fun. The experience was well worth it with my daughter & wife. We received our pizza's that cost nearly $50 bucks. Pretty expensive pizzas and a decent wait HOWEVER.....the pizza was well worth it. Every bite was amazing. I'd eat 2 slices and keep eating it. Yes I eat an entire 14 inch pizza to my face. No regrets, so good! Nothing but love for Woodys, great pizza. I am lucky I was able to taste true authentic York Maine Pizza. Cheers!

I was at the beach with my dog and got hungry after a long beach day. The smell of the fresh baked pizza lured me right over lol. I couldn’t go inside since I had my dog and the guy working at the booth outside was so nice and offered to place my order and process my payment inside for me and bring it out when it was ready. The pizza was hot, fresh and delicious!

Lunch pizza and our first visit. Seated right away (11:50am) by the hostess sitting outside the front door. High top provided a view of passers by and also the pizza ovens. While the greeting at the door was cold and mechanical our server immediately brightened the experience. Molly greeted us with a warm smile and attentiveness that made us feel like we were regular customers. Realizing we weren't she offered to take a family picture, capturing our first of many future visits. Our order was taken, drinks served and pizza delivered in a comfortable time. Watched a steady flow of slices and to go pizzas walk out the door. Our pizza arrived straight from the oven and ready to be devoured, which it happily was. The pizza itself was good. There was a nice amount of good pepperoni and sauce. I would have liked a bit more cheese but that's alright. The crust was thin, had a decent bite to it. On the next visit I may experiment with asking it to spend another few minutes in the oven to crisp even more. I was hoping for a little char or smoke flavor. Location, price and quality will make this our go to pizza stop while at York Beach. While completely arbitrary, our score for this Pizza is 7.3.

We ordered from here twice, because we were so impressed the first time. Ordering online is easy. Pizza was ready in about half an hour. Pizzas are big slices. The crust is chewy and lightly toasted. The toppings were melty and the right proportions. The BBQ chicken pizza is good, the sauce is sweet. The Buffalo chicken is good until you get to the sriracha swirl, which over powers the buffalo flavor, remove that and I think it would be a home run. The pepperoni are very large square pieces. The sausage is sliced rounds, if you prefer your sausage ground this is not the place for you. The Sicilian is square. Is it a Sicilian, while delicious it looked suspiciously like their regular pizza dough in a square shape. Pizza makes for some great leftovers. Highly recommend giving it a try!

It was a SUPER RAINY day and we stopped in for a bite with our two kids. Jacob took such good care of us and totally changed our afternoon around!!!! He was pleasant and attentive and the pizza was FANTASTIC!!! I was out voted for pepperoni and sausage but I’m so glad we got it because it was so delicious!!!! This is our new favorite spot!!! Scrumptious pizza and great speedy service amazing all around. Thanks guys!!!

I ordered 13 pies from Woody's for a client party I hosted. The pizza was fantastic. They have a great gluten free crust. The host helped me with the order and how much food we would need. My clients loved the pizza which means that I loved it too. It really was good! Thank you!

I went today for the first time because i heard someone say they loved their pizza. went to the front host stand to ask if i was supposed to order there or inside because i was confused. she ignored us for probably 3 minutes while staring inside the restaurant while you could clearly see us in the reflection in the window behind her. she finally turned and when i asked my question she just goes “inside” no hi how are you or smile. so at this point i had already been face to face with her, well my boyfriend and i get inside and she comes in after us not even a minute later, gets a foot away from my face and is telling me to have my boyfriend order for me because of “the way i’m dressed” first off, i was in a one piece bathing suit and a tee shirt over it. nothing out of the ordinary on the BEACH STRIP, you shouldn’t have a shop there if you don’t want people in bathing suits?? or let them order outside… secondly, there was no problems a minute before but then she had to come inside get in my face and tell me to leave in front of everyone to embarrass me? absolutely not. extremely unprofessional, good luck keeping business running on a beach strip if you don’t allow customers to show their legs in your store, she made me extremely upset and super uncomfortable being in my face while every employee and other customers just watched. over all craziest experience ever. also here’s a photo of my bathing suit that i had a TEE SHIRT OVER TOO was such a big deal.. if you want pizza on your beach day DEFINITELY NOT HERE!

Short Sands Beach in York, Maine is a charming and relaxed spot with a promenade that offers various dining options, shops, and arcades. The beach town features a mix of kitschy souvenir shops, upscale boutiques, and food-related stores. Visitors can enjoy watching candy machines pulling taffy through windows at the Goldenrod block or explore the amusement park and zoo nearby.
Best beach experience of this year! Beautiful beach, atmosphere was relaxing, happy and friendly. Parking was super easy, got there at 930 and lot was 1/4 full. Paid $32 for 8 hours. Beach was clean, water is crisp! They have adequate and clean bathrooms. Plenty of little shops to go walk around later in the day. Lots of awesome food options. It's not a boardwalk, it's actually walking through the town, but it's a 1 minute walk from the beach. I will go back there every year, absolutely loved it. Hampton beach is a complete nightmare compared to this.

Beautiful spot for spending an hour or a whole day! Sand is soft and clean. Close access to parking and shops/restaurants for those with limited mobility.

We love Short Sands. Great beach. Very scenic. It gets crowed quick in the summer. The people are friendly. Lots of families. A Playground. Food for everyone. Shopping. Arcade. At low tide there’s lots of space for beach games. The zoo is close. Very busy roads. Parking is about $4 per hour on the Park n Go app. It’s a short walk to Long Sands.

This beach is in a prime location. It's close to an arcade, bowling, a zoo, and so many other restaurants and shops. There's a parking lot right against the beach that charges 4 dollars an hour. There are bathrooms, which is a luxury in this area. It's good to get to this place before 10am because it fills up fast.

Beautiful clean beach. They have a public bathroom/changing area right next to the beach which is convenient. There is a modern playground fenced in for children and a basketball court. Parking at beach is a little tight and expensive so plan to arrive early if you want to get a spot. Lots of shops and food places close by.

Sohier Park, home to the iconic Nubble Lighthouse in Cape Neddick, is a must-visit destination. The park offers stunning views and is one of the most photographed landmarks in the United States. Visitors can enjoy sightings of various bird species, sunfish, and harbor seals. It's a beautiful spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing picnic with breathtaking scenery.
There's no access to the light house as far as I could see. Then again it was also winter. It's a great photo opp and the view is awe-inspiring. It's a very popular destination for non-coastal dwellers and parking is limited.

First time on the east coast! What a gloriously foggy day. This place was spectacular, peeking through the fog at us. It’s a little tucked away but worth the effort to see. I want to see it in the sunshine.

Sohier Park is one of my favorite places to visit in York. It is such a beautiful location with a gorgeous view of Bubble Lighthouse. It is beautiful at anytime of the year and I love how peaceful it can be even when crowded. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area!

What a lovely coastal stop to see the beautiful lighthouse! It being situated across on a little island makes this pretty unique. There's quite a good number of parking spots and cars move in and out very quickly. The welcome center is also interesting to visit, has lots of cute Maine merchandise as well as bathrooms. There is a Fox lobster restaurant right next door that has awesome view of the coast and the lighthouse.

Very cute and picturesque lighthouse scene! I could have sat on the bench for hours, taking in the surrounding beauty, even on a cloudy windy day. Nice gift shop too! No fee for parking, but it is a popular spot for tour buses, so the small lot can be crowded and busy.

Lots of free parking, several stone benches to sit on but i highly recommend bringing a lawn chair. The view of Nubble Lighthouse and the ocean are spectacular. There are public restrooms, a gift shop and take out restaurant nearby. Just down the street is an ice cream shoppe.

We visit this park every time we're anywhere near it, driving on Route 1 in York, Maine. There's always something to see at the Nubble. Today, it was gorgeous, with blue sky, billowing clouds, and sea foam... a perfect scene! And then "Gull Man" showed up to feed the seagulls. In my photo, that really is a seagull on top of his head. The birds flew right over to him, and one of the gulls instantly claimed that spot on his hat. (Yes, Gull Man wears goggles, too, for protection.) It was a real delight to watch, and a perfect time of day - around 1 PM - to see the seagulls as well. Before we left, a large number of divers were getting into their gear to go into the water. And, as always, people were walking their dogs (it's a lovely place for that). The gift shop is a must-visit, too. You'll see items there that you won't find anywhere else... great to take home to remember your visit!

This is a must visit location! The lighthouse is on a small island and you can’t visit it, but if you park in the parking lot, it’s easy to get a good view of the lighthouse and the ocean.

Long Sands Beach is a 1.3-mile long sandy neighborhood beach with adjacent metered parking spaces. During the summer, visitors can take a trackless trolley between Short Sands and Long Sands beaches, providing a hassle-free way to explore without worrying about parking. The beach offers a traditional day-at-the-beach feel with plenty of space for families to enjoy activities like strolling the shoreline, boogie boarding, and wave jumping.
I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. This beach will always have a special place in my heart but for great reasons. It’s beautiful, clean, great waves, close to downtown food/shops, lots of parking (street), and short walk from car to sand. Always a go to being a New Englander!
Amanda M — Google review
We were visiting the area with our two nine year olds and this beach was recommended to us, and certainly didnt dissapoint. Parking could be difficult depending on time of year and time of day. We went early and arrived around 11am and were able to find parking. Its an app based meter system so you will have to spend a few minutes figuring it out. It wasn't outrageous cost wise, $9 or so for a few hours. Note if you going all day, there are all day parking lots that were advertised for $30 nearby which is clearly more bang for your buck. The nice thing about the street parking is that it's right along the beach, which made shuttling things very easy. The beach was pretty clean, no real trash to speak of, but they also dont have bins, so everything you bring, you take away. Mind the tide. When we arrived it was high tide so the was fairly close to the beach access stairs. When we left it was going out and I bet there was an additional football field worth of beach in front of us. If it was going the other way and you aren't paying attention you could lose stuff to the ocean. The water is frigid. The board at the lifeguard stand said it was 55 degrees. Sounds nice on a hot day, but the temperature swing is extreme when you go from the beach to the water. We still got it and swam, but be prepared. The beach wasn't real rocky, it consisted mostly of smooth gray and brown sand mixture, which made it easy on the feet. The waves were great for low key surfing or Boogie boarding. Certainly it was a great spot for our family.

A timeless question is whether a spectacular sunrise on a beautiful beach or a spectacular sunset on a beautiful beach is better. The answer is both. Both are better. The weather on the first weekend in October was warm, cloudless, and with the light breeze, sublime. Our hotel, the Sea Latch Inn, was just a few steps from the sand. In fact, we had a fantastic view of the ocean from our 2nd-floor room. I recommend the place! As the sun set, the sky and sand filled with pastel colors, and the moon rose over the ocean. We held hands, walked on the sand, and listened to the waves softly lapping at the beach. At dawn, the sun rose over the water, and we walked again, sharing the sand with shorebirds, tiny crabs hiding among the rocks, a man practicing Tai Chi, and a broad, flat beach that invited an early morning walk before coffee on our hotel room balcony. It was idyllic, and we will be back.

Anazing views. Limited sand at hi tide, so plan accordingly. A sidewalk is narrow in places with drop down to the sea wall. There is limited parking, Web based paid parking omly works if you can access spotty cell services.

Fisherman's Walk is a picturesque trail along the York River, featuring the iconic Wiggly Bridge and access to Steedman Woods. It's an easy stroll suitable for all, including families with strollers and leashed dogs. The trail offers unique views of New England coastal homes, boats, and beautiful landscapes. Despite some parts being affected by heavy rain, it remains accessible even for wheelchair users.
One segment on a long walk that I went on including the cliff walk, and the wiggle bridge. This is a very important segment connecting the two and allowing one to walk and enjoy York Harbor and the ocean. Many opportunities to take photos and to enjoy the fresh air. I recommend you explore this whole area, spend a day and use the Fishmen's walk to get around as parking is tight, so the walkways are even more valuable.

What a lovely place to walk. It was so quiet and peaceful during our visit.
Shauna G — Google review
I only walked part of it, from the dock, under the bridge and up the side of the bridge to the parking area. I believe one part of the trail goes between 🏠 houses and the docks. It connects to the Wobbly Bridge which leads to Steedman Woods. Update: August 2023; I finally walked along the harbor and it was a pleasant walk. It ends in a neighborhood. Part of the trail access ♿ has been washed away due to heavy rain. You still have access if you are in a wheelchair.

A nice scenic walk from the wiggly bridge back to Hartley Mason Reserve. A bit narrow in some places if other people are walking the other way.

Really cool walk. I like how the trail goes under the bridge and its pretty unique. Well you stand in the bridge you can see some sea life. We personally saw crabs and starfish from the bridge. We also saw some wildlife in the woods. Really cool how the animals aren't even scared and let you walk right up to them. A nice walk and cool experience.

If you plan a visit to York Harbor in southern Maine, and would like a fun, non-strenuous walk by the water (including the York River), then do include Fisherman's Walk, which will take you over the famous Wiggly Bridge and into Steedman Woods. As always in the woods or undergrowth, take precautions against ticks. Wiggly Bridge is no doubt tick-free!

Wiggly Bridge in York, Maine is a charming destination for families and nature enthusiasts. Despite the misty weather, visitors enjoyed the breathtaking views and tidal flats along the woodland trail. The area offers a pleasant walk by the water with glimpses of lobster fisherman boats in the inlet. The bridge itself is a novelty as it's known to be one of America's smallest pedestrian suspension bridges.
We found this bridge on Google maps while traveling from PA to Maine on a Sunday late afternoon in mid-November. We like to stop and check out bridges that pop up in the map and this sounded cool. I wasn’t expecting the bridge to actually wiggle but is sure did. There happened to be a family photo shoot happening when we arrived and I’m sure their photos will be beautiful since the sun was setting and the sky was clear. We parked on the street. There was a nice nature trail in the other side of the bridge. We did a quick loop because it was getting dark. I’m glad we stopped here and hope you will check it out too.

Such a beautiful and well maintained place to visit. Down side is parking if you are not a resident. There a 4 non resident parking spots on Lilac St. I'm not sure where you park when that is full. I had a lovely resident explain this me and I got the last spot. I have difficulty walking so this makes your walk a little longer but there is a sidewalk and there is an under the street walkway to get to walking path. There is a nicely groomed trail before and after wiggly bridge. You can wander through the woods along the water, sit by the bank, watch the boats, birds, have a bite to eat or just enjoy nature. Don't forget to bring something for the Fairy hole. I highly recommend this stop.

Great place for a quick walk. Careful with young children and animals. There's a ton of poison Ivy right after you cross the bridge it starts and it's throughout the first half of the trail till it goes downhuill. The photos with red and yellow leaves show it all, easy to recognize as the season is ending. Also careful with parking. There's one 15 minutes spot and some permit parking spots. Further up the hill is the public parking.

Such a fun place to visit when in York Maine. I'd been coming to the area since I was a kid, but only recently heard about this charming suspension bridge - the smallest pedestrian suspension bridge in America. Very nice place to visit. Not too many people around on a weekday in October. The trails are in a very good shape and there are signs everywhere! The view from the top is fantastic, as one can see the ocean on one side and Mt Washington on the other side. Didn't walk all trails, but the Mt Agamenticus doesn't span a lot of feet in elevation, therefore don't expect it to be very challenging. Parking was easy, used the ParkMobile app (which said parking was free until 05/15/2026).

Located near Sohier Park and Nubble Light, Fox's Lobster House has been a staple since 1966, offering traditional Maine seafood with stunning views of the Cape Neddick Lighthouse and the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant provides breathtaking views from its upstairs area. While some visitors found the lobster meal to be a bit pricey due to additional charges, others enjoyed their experience, especially during sunset. The food received mixed reviews, but many appreciated the beautiful scenery and friendly service.
Stopped in after visiting the lighthouse, we had literally just ate but stopped in for a drink and had to try their blueberry pie, 4 ppl split two slices, one with vanilla & the other with wild blueberry ice cream. Service was great super friendly, informative and attentive- recipe for success. yummy!

The day just feels better with a short walk to the lighthouse followed by a delicious snack on the Fox 's picnic patio! The lobster roll is amazing! the lobster is soft and flavorful, not too covered by the sauce, and the bread..the bread is a game-changer! the ideal thickness, crispy on the outside and soft within, love it! The chowder is also good, milky and smooth, never dense or floury. The price here are also quite reasonable, especially compared to other spots in Maine. While the patio is lovely, it can get windy so you always have the option of enjoying your meal  in their restaurant. Either way, this is an experience you won't want to miss!

Fox's Lobster House 9-6-25 We had to stop by this Lobster House for the Lobster. The lady that greeted us at the front was very friendly and answered any questions we had about this place as it was our first time there. She stated you want to sit upstairs as the views were much better. The views from upstairs were spectacular with the ocean and Lighthouse in the background just amazing. They do have an outside patio for dining which is rather large with shading for all to enjoy that kind of atmosphere. Now let's get to the food. I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder, and my wife ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque for appitizers. We both ordered the Fox's Favorite Lighthouse Dinner which had 1.5-pound Lobster, Corn on the Cob with Baked Potato. Our soup came out first, it was hot and very tasty, mine was packed with clams. This had to be the best New England Clam Chowder I ever had. In fact, it was so good I did not want to share it with my lovely wife. She stated her Lobster Bisque was fantastic also. The Corn on the Cob and Baked Potato was also good, but the star of the dinner was the Soup and Lobster. Everything was hot, tasty and with the great service provided by Stella we just loved this place, and my bet is you will also. You must stop by here not only for a great dinner but the spectacular views and a visit to the Lighthouse right next door. If I could give this place 6 stars I would but I will give it 5 stars and a +. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+ Follow Me For More Reviews & Fun. Gulf Coast Terry

While my visit may have been late in the season, Phyllis and her crew didn't miss a step in providing an out-of-this-WORLD first "lobstah" experience. If I didn't know better, I'd've thought we were guests at her home. Primo vistas of the Nubble Lighthouse from the upstairs seating (might be from downstairs too, but I'll have to wait to find out NEXT visit...) DEF worth the time to come visit and be treated to a fantastic meal, in a great location, with kewl tunes, being taken care of by an AWESOME group of ppl. Carry on Phyllis!

Came here for a little snack after visiting the lighthouse, we ordered the lobster stew. The soup is light but a good amount of fresh chewy lobster tail and claw meat. I enjoyed and would recommend this for a small dish for tasting lobster. The location of this restaurant is awesome, right by the coast so the window seats have beautiful view of the sea or the lighthouse. The only downside is they only have one men and one women bathroom, the restaurant is crowded so it takes time to queue up for bathroom.

Very nice Maine restaurant right next to the historical Nubbles Lighthouse. Probably the most "Maine" restaurant on the coast. I had so much fun visiting the lighthouse with my family and see eat at the Fox was truly the icing on the cake. We attended the restaurant pretty early after visiting the lighthouse. The restaurant filled up very quickly, however we were very well taken careful. Everything from the views to the food was amazing. It was a great experience and it's a moment in my life I will never forget. Thanks for the memories.

It had been a few years for me since I visit last. The fisherman stew had a lot of lobster, but was on the bland side. The scallop plate was fresh and lightly battered. The beer could have been a bit colder. Service was slow to start, but picked up. Service was also friendly. After spending over $100, we could have gone with other places, but we came for seafood. It is a safe pick to come here.

Delicious lobsters, excellent service! This was our first experience with ordering fresh Maine lobsters. We ordered the twin lobsters. It was more than enough food. Comes with butter and two sides. The view is also gorgeous.

Guac-N-Roll is a popular spot that also operates at Inn on the Blues during winter. Customers love the Spicy Sunset cocktails and appreciate the great staff, with new members like Grace receiving praise. The lobster tacos are delicious, although slightly pricey due to market conditions. Visitors enjoy the strong and tasty drinks as well as the generous portions of York Beach Nachos, which can easily feed three people for just $20. Despite Covid restrictions, Guac-N-Roll remains open for business.
We love Gauc N Roll! Went there one night for dinner and drinks and had to go back a second night for more drinks. Everyone working there is so nice and it’s a very affordable place on York Beach. Will return again!

Overall it was pretty decent. Drinks were great, food was pretty solid. However the atmosphere was severely lacking, hot and humid, sticky tables and just not the vibe we were looking for. Incredibly understaffed so wait time was very long and it wasn't even busy inside. Waitstaff they did have was friendly though. May return again in the future but I'm not likely to seek it out purposely though.

We were apprehensive when seeing the small menu. But man we’re glad we gave it a try! Got the guacamole/queso and chips, carnitas tacos, beef quesadilla, cheese quesadilla, and Shrimp tacos. All of it was great! And the chipotle aioli was fantastic. Our server was very kind and attentive. We ate outside at a picnic table, so we got to see the cars and people more than the actual atmosphere of the restaurant. We will definitely be back!!

Service was friendly Food- bland. Needs more flavor!! Chicken nachos needed some spice or something Lobster tacos- where’s the lobster and flavor Ordered a side of guac- needed some salt and cilantro. The burrito (not pictured) also very bland!

Menu seems very limited recently compared to past years, mainly tacos, quesadilla, or dips with chips. We got pork and fish tacos which were very good. Queso dip was okay. Not sure when it will be fixed but online menu is not accurate as of end of July 2024.

Great staff, Grace was new and she did fantastic! Lobster tacos were really yummy and a bit pricey but market price is higher this year so that's not really on the restaurant. Drinks were incredibly strong and so tasty.

Used to have the most amazing lobster tacos ever!! My Husband and I would drive up to York for the day just to eat there… Since they moved however, they stopped selling them for some reason… The other food is still good, but I won’t make the drive JUST to eat there anymore.

The memory of our visit to the Chapman Cottage Restaurant in New Hampshire is truly remarkable. This coastal haven provided us with perfect weather and a stunning view from our corner booth at dinner. The cocktails were delightful, followed by a salad and warm bread drizzled with roasted garlic oil. The seafood ravioli and stuffed chicken were both outstanding, every bite bursting with flavor. Our server was exceptional, ensuring our dining experience was flawless.
My husband and I dined at the chapman cottage on our recent vacation to York Harber Maine. The cottage as well as the Inn has a history and if interested you may google to learn more about it. Beautiful scenery surrounds the cottage. The spacious outdoor dining area on the porch is filled with garden flowers. Reservations are a must and you may want to give the cottage a call to make sure the reserverations were accepted if you do not receive a email conformation. Parking is in the back lot past the long driveway. We parked in the back and the food tent was a few steps away. Live mellow music was being played under the tent for patrons enjoyment. Hostess greeted us right away. Our name on the reservation list could not be found so she offered us a table inside the spacious lovely outdoor porch. The evening we had dined the weather was hot and humid although it was rather cool and comfortable with plenty of shade as well as outdoor umbrellas to use to catch the sun rays. After hostess had seated us the server arrived promptly at our table. She introduced herself and offered to us the cocktail list appetizer menu to start our meal off. I ordered a refreshing thyme cocktail which tasted excellent and decided to order another.( 5 stars for the cocktail and I highly reccomend it) Next came the crab and parmasean dip which was spread over fresh soft but crusty baguette. My partner and I dived into it it was scrumptious. And Chapman Restaurant did not skimp on it. We actually ordered another loaf of the baguette because it disappeared quickly. I highly reccomend this appetizer which is filled with tons of fresh crab meat melted cheese which is creamy and melts in your mouth. The entree which I had ordered was the chicken breast with drum stick attached served over sautéed corn and roasted tri- color potatoes. I'd highly recommend this entree. Chicken had the right amount of crunch and at the same time juicy and tender. Roasted corn was fresh and tasty the tri color potatoes were creamy and delicious. The Chapman Cottage was a unique dining experience and my husband and I were thrilled to dine there!

First and last time going to dine. To start if you are elderly or walking impaired go elsewhere …it’s a long up and down path with steps literally over permanent electrical conduit covers to get to your uncomfortable metal dining chairs….no cushions. Draft Beer not working…none of it…ok…got a can…yup..fancy dining…no glass offered..had to find one myself…ordered burger rare…came well done of course…I just wanted to leave at that point. Could have sent it back…didn’t want to wait,,,that’s on me. Of course no ketchup offered…had to find that myself ….asked waitress for check and box…spouse interjects, not ready just yet…after telling me she was….waitress should have vanished as conflict happening…mainly do to lousy service…she was young..not gonna go after her….of course she returns with check which my spouse had just clearly said….no, no yet to….so now upset and being rushed out. just average to below average pricey food with crappy service in an uncomfortable setting…..zero management anywhere to be seen…not being run as anything near a higher end restaurant…plenty of staff around…just no training….bad look for what is supposed to be a top notch place

Phenomenal memory in the books. My partner took me here while we were visiting New Hampshire. I am so glad he did. This location is a coastal haven and we had the perfect weather. Made reservation for 5pm and we seated in corner booth at winder. Perfect view. Had delicious cocktails then flowered by salad and soft warm bread with roated oil garlic! Sinful. I had the seafood ravioli and my boyfriend had the seafood stuffed chicken. All was so amazing and delicious. Every bite. Our server was impeccable. The blueberry pie is to die for. I am not even a Blueberry pie person but enjoyed. Forgot what I got for after sweet but I know it was excellent. We shared of course. This is a perfect date night idea and I want to come back with family and of course, my love again.

Food was tasty. I choose recipes and food I have never tried. They had some great twists on old favorites. Like the water melon salad and the picked vegetable on the lightly fried haddock. Every thing tasted better then expected. They were out of the wings and pork dish, so I will have to return another day to try them. The candy bacon was a nice touch on the hamburger.

Soft opening night at Chapman Cottage! I had my wedding reception here 3 years ago in February during a blizzard. Both experiences were fantastic. Service is great, outdoor seating under a tent was perfect for summer weather, and there's heat lamps for the cooler evenings. The food was amazing. Everyone loved their dishes. I'll label my photos if I can, but I'll be back here, just like I do a couple times a year when I'm in town visiting my mom. Highly recommended!

Excellent food atmosphere and service!!! Great accidental discovery, the restaurant we booked for Father’s Day was unexpectedly closed because of a broken water main so a backup plan was needed and this place did not disappoint. In fact it was better then the original reservation. The seafood chowder is definitely a stand out. The drinks were great too.

Delicious food, great service. We sat by the fireplace; it was beautiful. The staff were all friendly. We had the brie with honey and nuts and the wing appetizer. Both were amazing. My burger was cooked perfectly, as was my husband's steak. Also, the gelato sundae was delicious! Made with the chefs honey! Prices were reasonable for what you get. Pros service, atmosphere, food Cons the only con I can of is that the bathroom is very small and there is only one.

Ambience on a sunny night beach front cannot be better than this. Was perfect night out and the outdoor dining was unbeatable. A bit crowded- everyone wants this view and dining. but a wonderful night out. Food was very good. Taste and texture was nothing less than perfect. Carrots we ordered because it was so different - grilled, sunflower seeds, bean puree. was nice appetizer to begin our meal. Combination of textures was good. We also ordered the buffalo shrimp. Cooked perfectly. sauces were so-so. I ordered sweet potato (vegetarian) tacos, and was superb for a lighter fare. would order again. texture and combination of sweet and sour from slaw .... just enough for a smile in my tummy. My companions ordered the fish and chips (which is shared with them). never seen fish and chips quite done like this and so well. Huge portion. enough to take home Beet salad was decent. Ginger beer is tap syrup, not bottled. not strong, also not as expensive. Parking is impossible, need to be dropped off.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but did eat at the restaurant. It was a really great experience. We ate relatively early, so it wasn't very busy when we got there, and we were able to sit with a view of the ocean. What an amazing view. We chose to eat here because of their vegan options and they didn't disappoint. Pumpkin bread: delicious. Crab cakes: delicious. No-lob roll: delicious. I just wish we could have gone a second time to try more things. Thank you for having so many vegan options to choose from!!! Also, we had a couple of the mocktails and those were amazing as well. If you're looking for a plant-based / vegan option in Maine, don't pass on this place.

We had lunch at Stone's Throw yesterday. Very nice menu. Many vegan choices. There were four of us. We all ordered something different and shared. Everything was fresh and delicious. Not a complaint or negative comment. The big surprise was the chick pea burger. Brilliant seasoning with just a hint of curry made this a winner. The best part was the service. You'll find no better in York. Period. Attentive, friendly, professional. Oh, the martinis were fantastic. Filled to the brim. Not watered down. Very reasonably priced too. Make sure not to miss dining there.

What a perfect lunch! My wife and I drove to York Beach for our wedding anniversary and decided to try Stones Throw Hotel based on other reviews. This place knocked it out of the park! Our server Ruby was an absolute gem from start to finish. My wife ordered the burger and I chose the fried chicken sandwich - my sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I have ever eaten and let me tell you - I have eaten a lot of them! The cool "Maine potato puff" fries were unique and to die for. We will most certainly be back as soon as we can make it that way again.

Beautiful view! Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and offered a small refrigerator, coffee pot with everything needed to enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony watching the sunrise over the ocean. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the seafood fresh. Beaches are clean and easily accessible. Highly recommend

I was not expecting much from a hotel restaurant with beachfront views, figured the stars were in regards to the location rather than the entrees but I was oh so wrong. Fish and chips were so flaky that we had trouble sharing, so moist and had an awesome crunch. Hummus was shockingly flavorful and one of the best parts of the meal! Cocktails are so fun, you can’t go wrong with any of them and if you can’t get a seat at a table there are plenty of bar seats available. Lovely service as well, enjoyed this through and through.

This park is right at the beach, York Beach, Maine. Everything you need to spend a relaxing day at Short Sands Beach is here. Several restaurants, lots of shopping opportunities, & wonderful candy stores and ice cream shops for dessert. Mother Nature does her part by proving these incredible waves when the wind picks up. It was my first visit here and not the best timing after a big storm the day before. The big parking lot was closed due to heavy equipment cleaning up sand and debris swept onshore by heavy winds. We had a short walk along the waterfront and enjoyed seeing a few birds fighting wind and waves. We'll have to return when conditions are more conducive to enjoying this lovely spot. Hopefully no more damaging storms this winter!

The Little Bull gift shop is an absolutely charming store, which stands out as a favorite in the area. The entire establishment exudes beauty and charm, from its exquisite merchandise to the delightful atmosphere created by pleasant scents and captivating music. It is truly a place that deserves admiration for its dedication to sharing Native culture. While it would be perfect if there were more establishments like this, one slight drawback was encountered during checkout when the owner or staff member seemed somewhat lacking in courtesy.
To say I love this store is an understatement! I started going into The Little Bull probably about 20 years ago while I was on vacation in York. I immediately fell in love with the hand crafted Native American jewelry. The owners Ed and Michelle are amazing. They make you feel like part of their family. The pieces of jewelry are gorgeous and I'm always getting compliments every time I wear something which these days is daily now after 20 years of buying pieces every time I visit. Thank you Ed and Michelle for a great experience every time we come ❤️

I love this shop and I love the staff here! My partner and I found our perfect wedding rings at the shop, and we were so excited that we wanted to go home with them right away! The shop had offered to make sure that the sizes were correct, but I really Wanted to have the rings right away for us. Within a few weeks, I realized that my ring was just way too tight. No jeweler would size it for me because it was made with such special materials. So I contacted the store, and the owner was such a delight to work with. He took the ring to the artist in New Mexico, who created the ring, and had it resized for me! I live in Boston, which is a few hours from the shop, and we got it all done by mail. I am just so grateful to the wonderful experience, the jewelry is guaranteed for life from the specific artist. David Rosales is the artist, and no other shop carries him , as far as I know anywhere in the north east! There are so many amazing Native American artists carried in the shop, and the jewelry is just stunning. Definitely worth a trip up from Boston!

I absolutely love this store! Every time my husband and I start planning our vacation to Maine we make sure to include a day to go down to York and visit Ed and The Little Bull. I have some of the most beautiful jewelry I have ever seen by indigenous craft men. This last trip I saw a new piece by David Rosales but it was out of my budget, so I decided on a different shape but in that style. So in other words, Ed had to special order it for me. Well, I got in just 2 weeks! Amazing, it was incredibly fast, quick and the piece itself was stunning. The people who work at The Little Bull take good care of you. And you can’t go wrong with anything you buy there.

The Little Bull is our favorite store in the world. Beautiful Native American jewelry, clothes, music and gifts. The jewelry pieces are the most beautiful, exquisite hand crafted works of art. My wife and I have bought several incredible necklaces, earrings, etc. Ed,Michelle and their staff are the most helpful, kind and informative, friendly people you will ever meet. We always leave the Little Bull having enriched ourselves spiritually as well as bearing treasures. The Little Bull is truly a one of a kind store …we have been blessed to return to over and over. 5 stars …for us ,a skyful of infinite stars. Please visit these wonderful people in an amazing shop.

Absolutely adorable store, one of my favorite in the area. Everything in there is so gorgeous and lovely. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, smells, and music. I wish more places dedicated to sharing Native culture existed. I want to so badly give it five stars but the owner (I think it was) was not too courteous, and when I wanted to check out nobody would help me. The man was stern to my friend and I when we were admiring the objects and told us not to touch anything when we were interested customers. If the customer service improves I will be so incredibly in love with this store.
Avery K — Google review
THIS SHOP IS NOT POC FRIENDLY. IF I COULD LEAVE NO STARS I WOULD. They had such a beautiful display and I was excited to purchase jewelry when I had gone inside. As I got close to the counter the lady behind it asked if I wanted something to carry my items, a seemingly harmless request. She even complemented my earrings. Despite me saying no thank you, she hands me a small wooden tray. It honestly looked like a display box for the jewelry that she had handed to me not one meant for holding anything. I only had two items in my hand, a bag of incense and a pair of earrings which were clearly shown. The tray she had given me was more inconvenient to hold than what I had been carrying. I looked around to see that NO ONE ELSE had a tray like me and she did not seem eager to give anyone else anything to “carry their items” which were similar sizes if not more than what I had been carrying. I was the only person of color in the shop, the woman was white. It did not sit right in my spirit and made me uncomfortable because it felt very targeted, as if she felt that I would steal from their store. I chose to save her time and my money by leaving the items.
Naiomi A — Google review
The Little Bull staff all are wonderful, but the owners Michelle and Ed are the best! Besides being knowledgeable, Ed is a master silversmith and has made not one, but four pieces of my jewelry. The work is outstanding, beautiful and always fits me; which is important! Come visit them at the store for an inviting and cultural experience!

Kendra is extremely friendly, she did an awesome job handling the large group of people that wandered in making everyone feel welcome and bringing a group of strangers together! Everything they make is quality, clearly lots of love and time goes into a product before the release it. Columbary House, an antique store located in Cape Neddick borough of York, Maine, offers a pleasant shopping experience with ample parking on Route 1. The historic period buildings add charm to the ambiance; however, they may pose some challenges for handicap accessibility. With three separate buildings dedicated to Antiques & Oddities, this establishment offers a diverse range of items. Visitors can find various treasures such as an old mulch rake, an antique cast iron teapot, and exquisite China.
There was so much to see at this antique store and the prices were very reasonable. I enjoyed talking with Jack one of the owners. He was very helpful with giving me tips about the area and restaurants. I definitely will go back there and say hi! I got this cute teacup perfect for my birthday weekend.

Nice antique store in Cape Neddick borough of York, Maine. Good parking space right on Route 1. Period buildings make handicap access a little difficult. Three buildings of Antiques & Oddities. We were able to get a old mulch rake, an antique cast iron teapot, and nice China. Some vendors run substantial sales that will reap good savings.

The first things you see when you visit is an outside garden set up with lots of great items. We went into the barn area which was very nice and full of interesting things at very reasonable prices. The salespeople were very friendly and welcoming. There is even more in the house. We really enjoyed our visit.

What a wonderful shop! We have purchased so many treasures here... and the prices are fantastic. The two gentlemen that run the business are very friendly and very knowledgeable about so many different things, and not just antiques! It is always one of our first stops when we vacation in Maine... 2xper year . 😊

This was a fantastic few hours touring the museums and learning some of the history and culture of York, Maine. Our tour through the Old Gaol was cool - I always seemed to miss it when I had the chance to be in town. Staff was friendly and happy to share what they knew about the Historical Society's work to highlight the area and people here. The buildings hold so much interest artifacts, there's an old tavern that we wandered through, and a beautiful cemetery on the grounds. So much art, too!

I went on a tour here with Portland Rec. Dept yesterday. This was my second time touring the buildings...such quaint structures with so much history. Then a van ride around York, with our guide pointing out places of interest, including Nubble Light. Our guide, Ken, was simply wonderful!! Personable and so knowledgeable about the history - and the town! It was a delightful afternoon!

We recently had the sincere pleasure of visiting the Old York Village historical site and it is filled with so many treasures to see and learn about. All of the individuals who work there are full of knowledge and stories that make the visit even more interesting and meaningful and so worthwhile! We learned so much about the history of York and the surrounding area and it truly was an incredible experience and I highly recommend a visit to others! You will be so glad that you visited! We were also fortunate enough to have signed up for the Memorial Day Remembrance Walk, which was led by Ken McAuliffe and Mike and they took us to all the different war memorials in town as well as the cemetery and gave us a tour that was filled with so much history and touching recounts of the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and for the love of this country. It truly was one of the most meaningful and memorable activities I’ve ever participated in on Memorial Day and I would highly recommend this walk to others! It truly was an incredible experience and it was a vivid reminder about the cost of war and how many lives are forever impacted by those loved ones who so bravely gave their lives for the cost of freedom. The walk is done each year on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day and one can sign up on the website. Thank you to Ken and Mike for making this walk possible.

Very welcoming, knowledgeable staff and fascinating exhibits! This museum has some unique pieces in its collection, including a gorgeous 300 year old bed canopy with colorful embroidery that looks like it was recently created. Two hand- crafted violins with figureheads of a man and his so are also quite striking. There are several buildings on the property- school, jail, tavern, etc. Olde York village is worth seeing!

It's a fairly interesting property for which really nice is the location and how quiet it is. It's also a good value as there are three properties they're they're all covered under one admission fee if you take the package which was $15 from recollection. The prison was no more interesting part to me and more unique part. the main house has a guided tour but I think they would do themselves well to add a guided tour to the prison as well.

Italian restaurant
1652 | Sixteen Fifty Two is a charming Italian restaurant located in a casual neighborhood with beautiful water views. The eatery offers a variety of Italian dishes such as pastas, pizzas, and appetizers.
I don't know what to say, this place is absolutely fantastic. We started with a beautifully crafted bourbon and mint cocktail with the mozzarella garlic bread (so good we ordered a 2nd togo). For entrees we had the Gnocchi and asked them to add some protein to it, they did not disappoint. The dish came out with sausage and prosciutto, mouth watering good. Also order the sausage and broccoli, when it came out we realized that there was no sausage in the dish. The chef took care of that right away, rather than just bringing a plate with sausage he remade the whole dish and offer us to take it to-go. The waitresses were all amazing, regularly checking on us and making sure all out needs were met. If you're looking for an alternative to seafood this is the spot. I cannot wait to go back.

Very compact with nice views! Kind of loud. Friendly service and Wifi available. I had steak with vegetables, ricotta toast as an appetizer and chocolate cake with raspberry gelato for dessert. Delicious. If you don't mind noise, I recommend this restaurant. Go early. It gets busy!

Spontaneous stop in York Beach on our way up to Portland. We didn't have a reservation and they were booked for the rest of the day/night but they fit us in and managed to maintain social distancing protocol. We ordered appetizers to share, and absolutely loved every bite! The menu is Italian, which I didn't think I was hungry for but the bruschetta and spinach "meatballs" were excellent!! (We devoured everything before I got a chance to take pics, haha!) Service was wonderful and all covid safety precautions were being followed. Also noticed they were doing a steady take-out business too, so if you can't get a table, consider ordering to-go. Definitely recommend!

1652 is a beautiful restaurant with absolutely delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. Guests can dine on the front deck, inside, and at the bar. It was open air the night I dined and it was pleasant to feel the slight breeze coming into the restaurant. The pizzas are cooked in a pizza oven and are fantastic! The oil, garlic and chili pasta is also worth getting (it leaves diners wondering what is that delicious garlic smell). There's only four beer taps and a fairly small liquor selection, but what's there is top notch.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Other than pizza and pasta, there weren't many options. Tried my wife's lobster pizza (not a regular menu item)...it was very good. I started with the mixed greens salad which was mostly just field greens with a few bits of tomatoes and carrots. I ordered the sausage and peppers appetizer as my meal (adding picture) and it was excellent though I didn't know it came on bread like a bruchette. Our service was good except the timing of the meals was off. None of our meals came at the same time. Our server was clearly being trained but she was never introduced as training so it was just a little awkward. The place seems to be attempting to be a little more upscale than the other options in the area and for the most part it is. For me it was much too loud and too cold to the point it was uncomfortable. So, I'd give the food 4 stars... maybe a little overpriced. It was really the freezing AC and the very loud atmosphere that brought my review down to 3 stars. Will likely try again.

Food was fantastic. Very fresh ingredients. Came out pretty quick. The service wasn’t great. Long periods of time went by before our server would check on us. We got there right when they opened so they were not busy at all. Hopefully the front of house can get it together because the kitchen does a fantastic job.

Service was excellent! Atmosphere was wonderful! I had the bake haddock and my fiance had chicken parmesan. Food was very very Bland and very overpriced. The Caesar salad we had was very very good though. I hate giving bad reviews, but the food was just so Bland and overpriced I had to give just one star.:-(

We called at 4p to try to make reservations on a Friday, but we were informed that they don't take reservations. Expecting a long wait for a table, we arrived at 7:30p to be told "rudely" that they are not seating anymore tables. Which at this time 2 tables were finished their meals and leaving. A man at the bar said " there's plenty of open tables." The lady on staff that kept saying NO to seating us was barely audible with body language that we were a burden. Review is not about the food or service during meal. We obviously didn't get that far. Kind man at the bar (took 45mins for him to get his tab for 1 drink.) gave us an excellent recommendation across the street, which was an absolute treasure.

Inn on the Blues is a charming inn located right across from a beach, offering comfortable accommodations and amenities such as free Wi-Fi and parking. With a history of over 100 years, this historic building in York has been a popular spot for great food and live music. The inn's indoor-outdoor seating fills up quickly during summer nights, creating a lively atmosphere with patrons enjoying drinks and live music.
Had a great time with my family. A lot of Resteraunts in the area do not take reservations. Last minute they were able to accommodate 16 of my family members! Food and service is great. Got to talk to some of the lads Noah and Sam (bartenders) were fun to get to know, very friendly, excellent cocktail menu. The owner is very present and I get the sense they take care of their workers. Thank you for a wonderful week!
Colin H — Google review
Food was fine. Nothing outstanding but also good quality without complaints. 4 stars because on a Sunday night in the summer after waiting 20 min for a table and a little longer than expected for food very rushed out and made feel “unwelcome” and forced to leave after a total of an hour in the restaurant. We should have been warned they wanted to be empty 8pm. A bit early for a beach vacation town.
Jamie W — Google review
I will not stay here again and would not recommend this Inn. It's not really an inn; it's a restaurant that has some rooms upstairs. There is no front desk or designated Inn staff, and the hospitality is seriously lacking. The "parking lot" is a small gravel area in a back alley that could barely fit the cars for everyone staying here. There was a heavy chemical/cleaning solution smell that was overpowering as soon as you walked in and we can still smell it on some of our belongings a week after leaving. Our rooms had large windows/doors to the deck which were convenient for getting in and out of the rooms, but there aren't adequate window coverings to block out the sunlight, and they face the sun, so it was hard for us and our toddler to sleep. Our bathtub didn't drain well, and didn't have a real shower head, and the toilet took quite a while to refill, so we had to be strategic with flushing. The door to our room wasn't properly sealed (you can see out into the hallway around the door), so you could hear everything people said as they walked down the hallway outside our room, and we could hear the second level of the restaurant in the evenings. I could have overlooked all of these inconveniences if it wasn't for the music... It isn't clearly explained in their booking process, but multiple nights a week (including Tuesday nights, which seems strange to do on a week day), the restaurant essentially turns into a night club and they blast music until 1 AM. The music woke my husband and I both up from a dead sleep, and shook our entire room like an earthquake for 4 hours. I asked the restaurant staff if they could turn down the volume or at least turn down the bass, and they told me that there was nothing they could do and that we had agreed to these conditions by choosing to stay here. The location is amazing; it was so convenient to be able to walk to the beach and the shops/restaurants downtown. But for what this stay cost us, it was not worth all of the issues we experienced and I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. It is overpriced for the quality, and the music situation was crazy.

Short Sands York Beach is one of my favorite places to visit! I've been coming up every summer for most of my life, have seen Inn On The Blues countless times and never stopped, until just recently when I ventured in to try it - I'll definitely be back! The second floor view was overlooking the water, the service was friendly and accommodating, and the food was top tier! The pictures speak for themselves, I know; however, everything tasted fresh and delicious! (If you stop in, the prosciutto flatbread is a MUST try.)

We had without a doubt THE best experience we’ve ever had in York beach today!!! My buddy and I stumbled into this super chill spot on short sands and were blown away by the views, service, and delicious food and drinks. Everything from the hosts to the bartenders and everything in between were top notch. Our bartenders Sam and Chloe were soooo much fun and knowledgeable. They walked is through the menu pointing out their favorites and got us a delicious meal set up. And the drinks!!!! They were so delicious and might I add strong!!! Five stars, two thumbs up, rave reviews! Chloe was a smoke show but in a wifey type of way. And Sam was wildly efficient and made perfect libations. Needless to say inn on the blues is an absolute must.

A beachy wonderland! The open airy first floor was comfortable and even when crowded, I attend a private dinner event, did not feel stuffy. The second floor dining and dinner area was host to spectacular views of the ocean and maintained the islandesque setting with the ocean breeze wafting through. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond. Definitely a do not miss place while visiting Short Sands!

Very average bar but main issue is having issues getting my ID checked every single time I have went. Bouncer who wears the Eagles hat laughs and mocks my REAL ID every single time I go. Until he scans it then quietly allows me in without saying another word. Has quizzed me on multiple questions before related to my home state, to the point where I have to bring my global entry ID and my passport. You’d really think they’d care about the clearly underage high schoolers they let in but no, as a dude coming with another person or two I am always given some sort of issue and never acknowledgement that he was in the wrong. As someone who’s lived in and returns to York for a majority of the year, it sucks to have this experience when he’s seen and given me trouble multiple separate times.

Fat Tomato Grill, located in the Village of York Maine, is a popular spot offering American classics in a casual setting. The menu features signature burgers and sandwiches along with options like soup, salad, gyros, fried zucchini, and salt and pepper fries. Customers praise the friendly staff and recommend trying the mozzarella sticks and Boom Boom Sauce. Despite limited indoor seating, visitors enjoy the delicious food at reasonable prices.
Wonderful staff and delicious food! The chicken tenders were practically falling apart, they were so moist, and the sauce options are unbelievable. I also highly recommend the sweet potato tots, which were perfectly cooked and came with a maple aioli. If you get the grilled cheese, which is decadent on perfectly-grilled sourdough, I suggest you get the tomato soup - excellent dipping sandwich!

Came across this restaurant doing a Google search. The restaurant did not disappoint. Classic decor with nostalgic appeal. The food was amazing! *** Dined 1 day ago The service at Clay Hill Farm is excellent as is the experienced bar service—| had one of the best Manhattan's I've ever had and my dinner partner's Mule was also excellent. I wish I could give the food such high praise. My dinner partner ordered a chicken breast, but it came out as if it was a bowl of chicken soup with wide egg noodles. The chicken was swimming in a tasteless broth. Very odd. I had the duck which would have been delicious if it were not overcooked. Interestingly, before I ordered, the waitress noted that the chef liked to serve his duck medium rare and warned me not to order the duck medium for fear it would be tough. I went with her suggestion, but when the entree was served, the duck was well done to the max. The orange rice, a companion to the main course, was a starchy, gluey blob, and the berry coulis was bitter. To say dinner was average is an understatement. As for the atmosphere, it could be charming but needs a serious refresh in its current state.
Susan R — Google review
Went out for dinner on Saturday, July 19th. We were impressed with the the location itself; the grounds were beautiful and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was pleasant. The pianist who was also providing live music did a fantastic job. The valet attendant was also very friendly and punctual in getting our car at the end of the evening. Unfortunately, the service was terrible, which appears to be a consistent theme based on previous reviews. We had been seated for over an hour before our waitress brought bread, and it took at least 45 minutes to get our first drink. There were also two different staff assigned to our table, which was confusing when two different checks were brought to our table by the end of the meal. Not sure why the service was so inattentive, especially considering the restaurant itself was not over busy that evening. The food was good, but not great. The drinks were also good, but not great. We did feel the pricing was appropriate for a restaurant by the seacoast in Maine. We would be interested in coming back should the service improve.
Brendan S — Google review
I've been here many times and always enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the staff. Saturday night 6 of us dined here. Three were happy with their meals, one salmon, 2 specials: beef cooked to perfection and Cesar salad. Three were unhappy. Four of us got soup ... just Luke warm but it tasted good. The pumpkin soup was a little too thick. Two people got the pork chop. One was undercooked and didn't want to send back. The other person loves pork chops and said it was just o.k. I ordered the duck. It was in the $34 range. When my dish came to the table there was a good size biscuit in the center sitting in a brown gravy. Where was the duck? The duck was shredded in the gravy. Not much duck in the gravy. Very disappointing and expensive. Two people ordered the ice cream Sunday and it was shared. Everyone loved dessert.

My daughter got salmon which was good. Unfortunately I got the flank steak special. There was a piece of steak from another cut which was exposed and supposed to make my flank steak look good, but the flank steak was terrible. The Boursin mashed potatoes were cold and the vegetable was about 5 green beans. I would try this restaurant again, but would be more discerning in my choice, or send it back.
Lucinda B — Google review
This restaurant highlights a farm-to-table concept with an emphasis on local ingredients, which I admire and usually enjoy. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing dinners I have ever had. It truly pains me to write this, as I prefer to support places with such intentions, but honesty feels necessary here. In hindsight, I later came across a review that echoed my own experience, but at the time we were influenced by a lovely couple we met earlier in the day who recommended it highly. I’ll spare the details, but with regret, I would suggest passing on this one.

Glad we decided to try and hit this beach up. While parking is limited and tricky, plan on having to walk away to get to it. The grounds were absolutely stunning and the beach seemed to be the perfect size. Many people here even on a colder August day and despite no swimming due to severe rip currents. There was even a couple people surfing. The waves were pretty good size.

The Sayward Wheeler House, situated in York Harbor, Maine, is a captivating historic house museum dating back to approximately 1718. It boasts original 1700s furnishings and art, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the past. The picturesque location by the York River provides a wonderful backdrop for exploring the architectural style of that era and delving into the region's history. The museum offers guided tours on select Saturdays from June to October and is highly recommended for those interested in early American history.
Wonderful location on the York River near the Fisherman's Walk. Early 1700s house with amazing history including indigenous and enslaved persons often overlooked. Highly recommend a tour and taking time for the walk in the surrounding waterfront area.

I found out about this museum house when I explored Fisherman's Walk. I am a member of the historical society that owns the house 🏡. You have to reserve a reservation online. They have tours the first and third Saturday of the month from June - October, 11-3 PM. The tour was just over 45 minutes and it was very informative. The group I was with were very nice people who were into the tour. I am very interested in history and learning a bit about the life of a Loyalist who went through the persecution of people who opposed British rule was interesting. They also provide some history of the indigenous people and the people who were either slaves or indentured servants was also important. Jane Seymour, no relation to the actress, was the name of one of the servants. The furniture is in great condition and the views from the windows 🪟 made me wonder what life would have been like in the past. Parking 🅿️ is limited on the front lawn. The building is not wheelchair ♿ accessible. If you are into history, especially in the area, I recommend a visit.

Informative and history rich tour. Reported to be the most intact prerevolutionary home in the US. Original furnishings are still present.

Great House...bad Docent. It is one of the best preserved historic homes in New England and this tour could have been so much better with a different guide. Bill was very knowledgeable and so thorough it over ran the hour by 40 mins. Folks as a result were being added into the tour. We stood in one room for more than an hour as we listened to Bill recount the entire history of the Seward family. To improve this overall experience this man needs to restrained to hour. Too bad overall.

Wiggly Bridge Distillery, located in York, Maine, offers year-round tours, tastings, and cocktail classes at their headquarters. The distillery is run by a local father-son duo and is housed in a historic building with plenty of charm. Visitors can enjoy delicious cocktails expertly paired with a three-course dinner during private events. The distillery also features a small retail space where guests can purchase bottles, tees, glasses, and more.
We stopped here on a Sunday evening mid-November after visiting the actual wiggly bridge down the road. We sat a the bar and orders a cocktail and a tasting. We chatted with the bartender - he was friendly and personable and knew alot about the area. I wish I could remember his name but I waited to long to do the review. Nice guy tho. The drinks were good. It was a laidback and easy vibe in there and has a rustic cabin-like feel. We had an enjoyable time and got a bottle of whiskey to take home.

Really amazing distillery with a fantastic tasting room experience. Great spirits and cocktails with even better service. Cozy, rustic vibes and some truly exceptional drinks!
Chris B — Google review
My wife and I visited Wiggly Bridge while checking out the York, ME area. The tasting room is very well done, and cozy. The bartenders were very knowledgeable regarding the spirits and the specifics that went into making each one. And one of them even created a special mixture for me to try that we came up with together by just talking about what might taste good together. It was a very enjoyable experience.
Andrew S — Google review
Awesome people, cocktails, liquor and vibe! Bartender was entertaining and professional, and made the best cocktails! We had a flight of tasting and the flavors and aromas are amazing. We had an absolute blast! Thanks to Chris for entertaining us with history and distillery lessons, and the Owner and Atticus for spoiling us with all sorts of flavors and tastings! Definitely recommend.

Visiting from Colorado and saw this place listed. We thought it would be a great stop but unfortunately we didn't even get to try any of their products as they wouldn't serve us due to having a small dog in a stroller, not even on their porch. On this trip we have stopped at numerous, distilleries, breweries and wineries. Not once have we been turned away. We are always aware that we will most likely have to be served in outdoor seating and we are great with that. So, not really happy with the way we were treated. I understand owners have the right to make their own rules for their establishment but still, it sucks

I attended a private event which included a guided tour of the distillery as well as a three-course dinner paired with cocktails. What a perfect evening! The building has so much historic charm and the ambience is just perfect. All the cocktails were delicious and expertly paired. Friendly staff seemed to honestly enjoy hosting us. The spirits are top shelf, there's a small retail space where you can purchase bottles, tees, glasses etc. Definitely worth the trip.

Great local distillery with a range of spirits. Super friendly staff and excellent cocktails. The $30 distillery tour includes a cocktail and 6 spirits tastings.

Always great cocktails and great service! Shannon and Jules were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Spicy Paloma, which was a special, and the Small Batch Bourbon Fig Manhattan. Each crafted well and tasted delicious. Then. We ordered The Forager which included gin, maple syrup and thyme - it was surprisingly complimentary. We have been here a couple of times and love the barn and atmosphere!

Interesting and fun goods! The funny signs alone will keep you here for a long time. But if signs aren't your thing, you can look through the clothing, jewelery, rugs, pillows, toys, purses or gifts. This is 2 floors of shopping fun and you are sure to find something you love! I found a whimsical decoration of old fashioned barrel of monkeys in high quality metal and primary colors. Fun and different!

Located in a cozy and relaxed space, YORK54 Pizza is a popular spot known for its elevated pizzas, sandwiches, and craft beer. Customers have praised the fast service, convenient location, and friendly staff. The menu offers a variety of options including the 16" super sausage pizza with mushrooms and side salads. Visitors have also enjoyed the Greek salad with olives, artichokes, and feta dressing as well as unique pizzas like the GF Pesto pizza and Thai chicken pizza.
Four Paws Up for York 54! 🐾🐾 This place is officially Husky approved! I scored a slice of pepperoni just for being my handsome, floofy self. Best. Day. Ever. My hoo-mans ordered a Summer Garden with mushrooms and a Gluten-Free Margarita. I didn’t get a bite (rude), but the smells? Oh, the smells! I gave the air at least fifteen sniffs per second. Heavenly. The two-legged food hoarders said the dough was “crispy and delicious” and that they’re definitely coming back. That’s fine by me, because I’ll be trotting right alongside them, ready for another victory slice of pepperoni. I bark, howl, and wag for York 54! 🐶🍕

This is a marvelous pizza joint. The dough is airy and the bottom was cooked great. The toppings for the pizzas are one of a kind for the area. They also sell some beers from a local brewery. Friendly staff. I do wish there was more seating but either way, it's 100% worth it.

We ordered pizza by doordash today as I was feeling a bit under the weather. Just moved to the area so we had never been inside the restaurant. We ordered a small sausage and pepperoni pizza and a caramelized onion and pepper flatbread. Both were excellent! We will definitely dine in and try more items.

First time visit and we WILL most certainly be back. Comfortable, warming and friendly. Our room had a beautiful deck with an ocean view. We stayed 2 nights and ate in the Ships Cellar, Food was AMAZING, Staff are AMAZING and the pub itself is a MUST visit, we had heard about it and we're blown away by the esthetics and atmosphere. We LOVE this place.

I was recently at the York harbor inn for a wedding, where the bride was getting ready in one of the suites. Such beautiful light came through the large windows. The shortest walk across the street provided access to arguably one of most beautiful views in the state. Interacting with staff from the inn was nice as they provided good direction around the property. Everything in the rooms that I saw was clean and tidy. I would stay here any day of the week.

We decided to celebrate my birthday here, thanks to The Price is Right! Although we are familiar with York, we have never spent time in York Harbor. Our stay was outstanding! Our room on the third floor had amazing harbor views and the room was so cozy we didn’t even explore the Harbor. Our lunch at The Cellar was great and dinner in the restaurant was delicious. We even got an amazing corner seat. The host and server added to the experience. Can’t wait to return!

Great place to stay, staff is amazing and very friendly. The restaurants were very good, ate there twice. The breakfast was outstanding, especially for being included in your stay. Great views of the ocean, with a beautiful park across the street that looks out over the ocean. Book it now, you won’t be disappointed!

We spent one wonderful night at York Harbor Inn and already can’t wait to return for a longer stay. From check-in to departure, everything was top notch. The inn itself is beautifully maintained—comfortable, cozy, and full of charm. Our room felt inviting and restful. The location is perfect: tucked by the harbor, yet close to shops, beaches, and walks. There’s also convenient off-street parking, which is a huge plus. Dining at 1637 was a highlight. The seafood dishes were superb, impeccably prepared, and perfectly suited to the setting. We also loved the Ship’s Cellar Pub, with its warm, maritime ambiance and live music that matched the character of the space. Both venues offered just the right mix of refinement and relaxation. Service throughout was unfailingly friendly, attentive, and polished. In short: great value, excellent food and drink, warm service, and a location that can’t be beat. If you’re looking for a memorable coastal escape, this is a gem. We give it full marks across the board.

My husband and I had our wedding at the York Harbor Inn last weekend and it was the most magical experience. Emily, our coordinator, was fantastic. We were a smaller wedding but never felt pushed to the side. Emily and the team at the inn made sure to treat us very well and were so accommodating. The food was amazing, the views from the park were beautiful, and we were given the most fabulous suite for our stay. Highly recommend the Inn for anyone who wants a truly special wedding experience.

Seafood market
Off The Boat Lobsters is a seafood market that offers fresh lobsters, oysters, and scallops, as well as the option to have the lobsters boiled. It's not just a restaurant but a place where you can enjoy your freshly cooked lobster by the river. Customers praise the incredible taste of the lobster and appreciate the friendly staff. Additionally, they offer online specials for those looking to indulge in some delicious seafood.
This is a local hidden gem secret that most tourists have no clue about. If you're anywhere near York or Moody Beach, Maine, amd looking to eat your fill of sweet fresh lobster, my best advice is to you is to skip the expensive restaurant and head to "Off The Boat Lobsters," market stall. It's literally set up on the docks. This is fresh off the boat that morning and you buy directly from the fishermen, cutting out all the middlemen and that big tip to the waitstaff. While this is not a restaurant, they will cook your Lobsters right there for you. Take them to the beach, back to your hotel, your RV or put them in a cooler to drive home. Today, I went back a second time and bought a baker's dozen of their Cull specials. Cooked right on the docks in ocean saltwater, it ran me less than $100. You can also buy them live. Hands down, the best lobster I've ever tasted. I cleaned and froze most of them to enjoy later in lobster rolls. If you call ahead, they'll have your Lobsters waiting for you. They also sell steamers, butter and ice.

I want to thank you so much for giving us the absolute best lobsters today! My son and I drove from midnight to get fresh lobsters from you and you absolutely didn't disappoint! We let you know how far we came and how far your live lobbies had to go, and one of your boys took the best care packing up 3 in our cooler to make it back, and they sure did! Thank you, thank you!!! We cooked them up as soon as we got home to north of Syracuse ! This is why I will always come to you and will always recommend you! You're the best! I can't wait to come back in a couple months!

Don’t go further north if you just want some fresh, delicious, lower cost lobster. This place is cheaper than Bar Harbor which as a tourist from Boston I was surprised. This 4oz roll was just $20!! I’ll come back whenever I get the lobster crave again. The steamers were tasty and sweet too!!

Lobster roll and clam chowder…so good! Roll is toasted with mayo on one side and meat is cold (maybe that’s traditional, this is new to me). Learned the lobsters are caught (not farmed). So glad we made the stop, would definitely return!

Awesome experience and Lobster! The two young men at the retail area today at 1000 am were amazingly friendly, patient w my questions and knowledgeable. I had never lived close enough to take home soft shell lobster to try but now I do, and it was terrific. They packed them nicely for our 4 hr ride home and they arrived alive. Cooked 10 hrs after purchase, easy to prepare also had a loaded lobster roll for breakfast at 1030 am! Worth the trip just south of the rte 95 York exit towards Kittery, especially if you take a peak into the production/ sizing area where there are 100s if not thousands of lobsters to see in tanks. Great job guys!
Bill F — Google review
This is our go-to place to get fresh lobster meat (we are too lazy to crack lobsters any more), and it has been consistently fresh and tender. For the first time this year, I decided to get a lobster roll and it was INCREDIBLE. I chose to forgo the mayonnaise, and warm butter came on the side. Plus, it came with a small bag of potato chips! It was VERY reasonably priced compared to restaurants, and the meat was fresh and tender. I sat right there on one of the picnic table and it was the perfect lunch. Also, the people who have helped us there have always been friendly :)
Jessica W — Google review
All I can say is wow… lobster was so fresh, sweet and delicious!!! I don’t like mayo so they gave me a side of hot butter which I just poured onto the roll and wow 🤤. Not to mention, the most affordable lobster roll you’ll find on the east coast. My boyfriend never really liked lobster, he tried my lobster roll and tried to eat the rest!

From our RV park (Libby's Oceanside Campground), we called Maine Lobster Outlet in York. We ordered the Lobster with Steamers dinner for 2 (Details at park office). It was brought to our RV, complete and ready-to-eat. It was tasty, perfectly cooked, and hot! When finished eating, toss everything back into the 5 gal. bucket, and take it to the park office, and Maine Lobster with pick it up. We highly recommend this to anyone wanting to have fine dining right in your motorhome or RV. No muss, no fuss!
