The restaurant combines traditional Southern charm with contemporary style, featuring vintage-looking lighting fixtures and dark wood paneling for a comfortable feel. My last night here in Ridgeland Mississippi was spent having a GREAT fried catfish dinner here at Cock of the Walk on the Ross R. Barnett Reservoir. VERY good meal! Fried catfish, hush puppies fries, cole slaw, pickled onions, cornbread and an ice cold sweet tea! SO GOOD!!! 👍😎 🐈🐟 THANK YOU!!! • #catfish #dinner #Mississippi #yum #yummyfood

Enjoyed the food and the water view! The fried fish was delicious and the coleslaw was the best! The greens and cornbread were good. Extremely kid friendly, but be careful on the dock near the water.

As a Former Manager with this company this was a great trip down memory. l enjoyed every bite. The catfish has a flavor like no other..jalapeño cornbread was on point, greens were tasty and the coleslaw is the ONLY slaw I will ever eat(sorry grandmom). Thank you PJ for your service and hospitality. Thank you CotW staff! Kudos 👏🏾...ps, I wish yall still made gator tail with honey mustard 😋 ❤️

I ordered take out- visiting from Florida/ i ordered catfish and it was good along with greens and coleslaw/ the take ordered lady was very nice and her customer service was amazing. Thank you for making my experience so nice

The food was great. But our server April was absolutely fantastic. She is what made the entire experience. We had a big group and she took care of every one of us and was able to get every single request and not mess up one order or one receipt. She was also very kind and friendly. I will go back just to have her as my server.

Nice simple place only a few options on the menu The fish shrimp and chicken was good

Food was good. View was good. Our waitress, Ashley was the best waitress. She was very friendly but not in a fake way like some people are. She made it a great experience. Can't say enough goose things about her.

Restaurant
Crab's Seafood Shack is a laid-back Southern eatery and bar that offers a small-town charm with vacation vibes. Located on the Barnett Reservoir in Ridgeland, this family-run restaurant features a warm and friendly environment with nautical-themed decor and a spacious deck. The Blue Bar upstairs overlooks the beautiful waters of the reservoir and hosts live music featuring local favorites every Thursday through Sunday.
This place is great, we walk in on a week day and no one was here for some reason. All you can eat fried grouper is an awesome deal. They didn't skim on the meal, fish is lightly battered and fresh. If you don't want grouper, shrimp and oyster are good too. Service is great, he keep checking on us and refill our drinks and food. Sitting next to the window and enjoy the view of the water while enjoying your meal is a good experience.

Craving a taste of the ocean in Madison Landing? Look no further than Crabs Seafood Shack. This is the spot to come when you're yearning for the flavors of the sea. From the moment you walk in, the friendly staff makes you feel right at home, ready to guide you through their delicious offerings. And the food? Absolutely top-notch. My meal arrived hot and tasted incredibly fresh, as if it had just been plucked from the water. Each bite was a testament to quality ingredients and careful preparation. If you're looking for a genuine seafood experience, complete with friendly service and truly fresh, delicious dishes, Crabs Seafood Shack is a fantastic choice in Madison Landing. It's a little slice of the coast right here in Mississippi.

Crabs Seafood is great! It has a nice atmosphere on the water. The blackened shrimp plate was amazing, full of flavor and enough to share with 2 people!

The service was fantastic. The food and drinks were really good. Patio view was even better.

Great quiet spot overlooking the water. Good spot to stop to eat if your boating around the rez. I got the redfish and shrimp. Only complaint I have is the broccoli tasted funny.
Jonathan B — Google review
My son and I went there for dinner about a few days ago. I wish I had taken a picture of his burger before he ate it cause it was huge and he loved it! I ordered the shrimp pot and my food was pretty good. I love their fries. Service was good. Understaffed as a lot of restaurants are right now. So be patient. Not overly expensive. Will definitely go again.

This place is best restaurant on the water. The food is excellent the views are something you would see only in a Magazine. They have live music as well. So if you haven't eaten here what in the hell are you doing with your life. I would definitely eat here 4 or 5 days a week.

Bar & grill
Pelican Cove Grill is a popular spot known for its relaxed atmosphere, live music, and American cuisine with a Southern twist. The restaurant offers generously filled po' boys featuring shrimp, catfish, and crawfish that pair perfectly with their signature Pink Pelican cocktail. Additionally, the menu includes various crab dishes such as crab dip, crab cakes, and Dungeness crab legs.
This was an awesome place to stop, the patio on the water was great, definitely a great vibe, order the fried green beans they are 🤌. I personally prefer a more traditional deep fried fish taco with slaw and aioli but these were pretty good, my husband loved his pasta as well. Definitely a good vibe and our server Red was great!

I’ve frequently visited this restaurant and the experience has always been okay. I honestly go for atmosphere and view of water. They also have live bands on certain days. The service yesterday sucked as I sat for over 10 minutes waiting for server to return with water and take my order. I finally went in restaurant (I was sitting at outside bar) to speak with manager and the server was eating. She apologized and stated she had asked another server to take care of me. The manager took my order etc. It was not a good experience but the server was very apologetic so I let it slide. I wasn’t given a discount or anything which was okay but generally managers do something!!! I had the blackened shrimp and fries. The fries were not hot 🤔 not sure what happened! I was very hungry and didn’t feel like waiting longer so just ate them. I left on boat and came back at night. The view is even nicer. They have some very nice Halloween decor inside and out! Actually it’s well put together and puts you in the holiday spirit!!! I was told they are short staffed which is not the customers problem. If you can’t run restaurant efficiently then don’t open. Customers don’t need to hear excuses. We expect excellent service if open! I recommend visiting but not sure how service will be…. But the same server did take our drive order while on boat. That also took longer than usually! She seemed to but a nice person but maybe having an off day!

Great place to go to get drinks and some bar food! We enjoyed our visit! Good service! When we walked inside no one greeted us so we assumed to sit out back! I wish it was more fans out but overall good experience and very nice area to overlook the reservoir.
Meaghan O — Google review
Really nice atmosphere and views of the water. Always has lots of parking and docking available even when they are busy. We are always greeted and brought our drinks in a timely manner. The menu consists of typical seafood options but I appreciate the nice selection of apps and all the meals are greatly portioned for the price.
Professor, R — Google review
The food selection had typical bar food options with a few more interesting things to choose from as well. The food itself was cooked well - crispy chicken tenders and fries, but the shrimp tacos sounded better on the menu then what arrived. Not horrible, but nothing I'd return to check out. The most jarring thing to me was the music blaring as I walked it. I'm cool with loud bar environments, but the music sounded both loud and muffled - which was frustrating since it killed any quality of music and just transmitted a muffled mess. However, the call and inviting atmosphere of the reservoir is tough to drown out and made for a beautiful backdrop to the meal. The service was slow at first but then our waitress made every attempt to help plus out - it may have just been a busy spot for her. This could be a cool place to pull in on a boat, though for me it's not a place I'll consider returning.
Peyton H — Google review
I hadn’t been here in years and came back for Saturday lunch. Big mistake. The food is flat-out bad. The tuna dip was watery, the shrimp tacos were a mess, and the salsa tasted like marinara sauce. This is a bar with a kitchen, not a restaurant. The food is only passable if you’re drunk and don’t care what you’re eating. If you’re coming here to eat, don’t. What a joke.
Jay M — Google review
Paper plates, dirty environment, cold fries, had a catfish basket that was close to past its prime, fried shrimp. Said there were 10 in the basket but only 6.
Patricia R — Google review
My visit was pretty food. The good was delicious and service was okay. They were extremely busy but moved swiftly as possible. I will recommend anyone to stop by for a visit. It's off the water with a live band. Very nice!

Reservoir Overlook

Scenic spot
Reservoir Overlook in Mississippi offers a stunning view of Ross Barnett Lake, the state's largest source of drinking water. The park is located just over two miles from Ridgeland and provides a picturesque setting with cobalt blue waters, lush green lawns, and vibrant foliage. Visitors can enjoy picnics by the water or capture beautiful photos of the serene landscape. While there are no walking trails, the park features several picnic tables and shaded areas for relaxation.
The Reservoir Overlook on the Natchez Trace is one of those places that sticks with you. It’s peaceful, scenic, and perfect for everything from photography and fishing to grilling and laid-back picnics. One of my favorite memories is spending the night there in a hammock. Probably not officially allowed, but took the risk, and it became a core memory. The sound of the waves, the wind passing through the trees, the starry night, and the calm surroundings made it unforgettable. A truly special spot if you appreciate nature and a little stillness.

Great place to get out and stretch your legs, or place to park for the Chisha Foka until use trail. Decent views of the water, peaceful and serene.

On a warm beautiful day we enjoyed a nicely paced trip up the Natchez Trace Parkway just soaking up the scenery. There are plenty of pull-offs to capture pictures and snippets of the history of the area, these areas are well maintained. So, take a nice lazy ride and enjoy this nicely preserved Parkway you'll be glad you did. Enjoy.
Joseph D — Google review
Brown's has really become some of the best and most usable trails in the area. The sandy subsoil drains fast and the volunteers put in a lot of work. There are trails available for most riders and skill levels so bring the whole family.

Plenty of room for exploration. Just to relax and go at your own pace. Nice fishing spots. Saw a couple of gators, but now over ran with them.

Nestled in a charming setting, Fratesi's offers an inviting atmosphere adorned with checkered tablecloths and whimsical candles housed in onion-shaped wine bottles. This delightful Italian eatery serves up a feast for the senses, featuring dishes like grilled chicken atop angel hair pasta smothered in creamy Alfredo sauce and classic spaghetti paired with hearty meatballs. The warm ambiance evokes the essence of Little Italy, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions.
Fratesi’s in Ridgeland Mississippi offers a classic Italian dining experience that’s hard to beat. I went with a group of friends and ordered the Chicken Alfredo, which was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The pasta had just the right texture, and the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. The side Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, with a deliciously tangy dressing that balanced the richness of the Alfredo. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the meal even more enjoyable. If you’re in the area and craving authentic Italian comfort food, Fratesi’s is definitely worth a visit!
Ray J — Google review
The food was good. When dining in doors, be aware that the lighting is not ideal for pictures and/ or videos. It's very dark and hard to capture a decent picture. The service could improve, especially on customer service itself. Our waitress wasn't very knowledgeable about the dishes served or prepared on recommendations for anything we had questions about as this was mine and my flt crew's first visit during one of our many layovers in the area. On the plus side, we were served fresh bread upon being seated. I ordered the chicken tortellini soup. Unfortunately, there was no flavor, and it was luke warm, almost cold. I then ordered a side of grilled mushrooms from the appetizer options. It wasn't what I was expecting or hoped for. I then ordered the seafood lasagna. Again, unfortunately, the seafood lasagna was nothing I was expecting. It too lacked flavor, especially w/ the seafood elements. However, my CA, FO, and the FO's friend who joined us ordered the fettuccini chicken alfredo. It looked delicious, and I wanted to take a bite. With all that said, please don't jus go off from my experience and miss out on your own. If you're in the mood for some tiramisu, I can definitely recommend ordering a serving.
FA G — Google review
Spent $30 per plate for two plates of alfredo & shrimp pasta.. about $80 altogether for two.. disappointed to see each plate only had 4 tiny, sad shrimp. I was (am) starving. I get it’s just shrimp pasta, but I figured there’d be a little more than 2g of protein for the price.. and not just a bowl of noodles. Took one bite of the bread and appetizer and felt like committing a felony just to see if they serve this at Parchman
Jon C — Google review
It's not good. Every few years, we try again, but still no. The Lobster Ravioli was on special. It had the hard yellow color and texture that could come from sitting too long in water or being frozen and reheated. The sauce was terrible. All in all, inedible. The husband’s steak reminded him of the one his grandmother used to make. Unfortunately, grandma made her steaks in the oven. A lousy piece of meat cooked in the oven does not become better. On the positive side, the bread was delicious, and the service was friendly - hence two stars.
Mysty L — Google review
This small Italian restaurant hit our radar out on vacation. The bead was flaky and fresh. The garlic butter wasn't a hit with my family. The alfredo was very flavorful, creamy and on point. The spaghetti sauce has a little heat to it. The kids meals do not include drinks. The waitress was very attentive. Place is very old school, dark and kinda hot.
Nicole B — Google review
A great Italian restaurant with wonderful staff. The ambiance is like a little Italy. Restaurant is clean and staff was friendly and the service excellent. They start with complimentary white bread which was nice and warm with delicious garlic butter. The fried ravioli was a big hit on the table. We also ordered spicy cheese fritters. I personally did not find it to be spicy but I have a friend who was sensitive to spice and said she found it to have a spicy kick to it. The food was delicious and fresh. I ordered the vegetable primavera with pesto sauce and loved it. They have a wide variety of options. My friends ordered a shrimp pasta and a chicken Alfredo pasta and they loved their food. Ordered tiramisu and chocolate lava cake for dessert which were both delicious and the chocolate lava cake was decadent. Highly recommend this spot and will be back to try other options on the menu.

Hands down this is the best Italian in the Jackson area! I love the Red Ziti, side of Alfredo. The Cesar Salad is on point. Great Gluten Free Options! Great atmosphere.

Average - seafood lasagna all she could taste was the cheese, crab cakes too salty, not enough crab and old oil fried taste, service ok except waiter kept scratching his head. Will we go back? No. Heaven forbid a fire breaks out cattle shute entrance and only saw one side door. Hope there is exit off kitchen. Place was packed so some people like it our first visit.

Steak house
Doe's Eat Place is a well-established American restaurant that offers a variety of dishes, including steaks and tamales, in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. During a visit, the server named Jeff provided excellent service by sharing interesting historical facts about the establishment and providing insights into the food. The appetizers ordered, such as tamales and crab cakes, were both delicious.
Outstanding steak and service! This is not the only "Doe's" but it is likely the best. First of all, from the moment you walk in, you feel the relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. The menu is fairly simple, if you're not here for the steaks, you're probably in the wrong place, but there are some other options for your children (if you are the kind of person who brings children to a steak house). We had their famous hot tamales (with chili) and a side of bread, but the real event was the massive ribeye steak. Both of ours were cooked nicely, definitely not overdone, but with an excellent crust and much too large to finish. I wouldn't bother with a lot of toppings or ANY sauce. The steak is very high-quality and shines on it's own. The owners were there and came by several times to make sure the experience was perfect, which was nice, but the waiter, Jeff, had it all under control. She DID tell us how great her grandma's pecan pie was, and she wasn't lying. It wasn't the gloppy-sweet mess you get from a store, but was light and mostly pecans. SO GOOD with ice-cream! This pie, and the location in Jackson, are why I think this is probably the best "Doe's Eat Place". It's a special-occasion kind of place, but I'm sure we'll be back!

First time here, it was our anniversary. Our server Jeff was the best, he told us some history, and he told us about the food. For apps. we got tamales and crab cakes, they were both great. Then we got the 6 oz filet and a 28 oz porterhouse, both cooked great and the au jus was fantastic. Q came out from the kitchen and asked how everything was, we told him all was great. Great place great service. We will be back

First time dining at Doe's and we will back! This is a wonderful place for special occasions that you don't want to feel overly stuffy or formal. My filet was amazing and my husband's salmon perfectly cooked. We topped dinner off with a delicious, traditional pecan pie that I'm still thinking about.

We both had the ribeye here and it was the best I've ever had!! And I've had many. The owners and overall experience left such a great impression on us that we intend to fly to Jackson again in large part just to eat here again. I wish I could remember their names - the absolute nicest people - and funny. She was trying salmon she had cooked but hadn't put it on the menu. And we were teasing that it wasn't as good as Columbia River salmon. We left feeling like family. You DO NOT want to miss out on Does
