Thirsty Owl Wine Company offers a picturesque setting right by the lake, providing stunning views for visitors. The winery features a spacious deck where guests can savor their wine while enjoying the scenery, and even bring along their furry friends. Boaters can conveniently access the winery using its dock. Inside, there's an extensive wine and souvenir shop offering various trinkets to take home. For just $5, guests can indulge in five tastings of their choice.
100/10 my favorite winery in the finger lakes! The tasting here is a good deal - $5! There is a wide selection of sweet wines available and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. Our party ended up buying a full case (12 bottles) of wine and joining the wine club during our visit because we enjoyed the experience so much.

Wonderful visit at the winery. We did wine tastings while we waited for an outdoor patio table (had our dog with us). Excellent wines and food. Service was very good as well. Beautiful views of Cayuga Lake from the property.
Joe C — Google review
Fabulous food and scenery! We ordered a side salad and the scallops. Every bite was heavenly. The Lava Cake for dessert. Oh my gosh - off the charts!! Can I just lick the plate? We did the wine tasting before we had lunch; therefore we knew which wine we wanted for lunch. Thirsty Owl Wine Company is DEFINITELY worth a stop. Someone had suggested it to us. So glad they did. Totally delightful!
Jeanie B — Google review
Officially the best winery experience we've had on Cayuga lake so far. Bob was a great wine guide for our tasting. The Malbec was a stunner! My husband and I ended up loving the winery so much we skipped the rest of our plans for the afternoon and ended up staying to enjoy an early dinner at the bistro while enjoying the view. Despite the busy weekend (lot was FULL) they were prepared with enough enough staff, all of whom were very polite, helpful and attentive. Highly recommended.
Corinne S — Google review
Definitely a great winery to visit if your in the area they had a large variety of wines to sample didn't have a chance to try the bistro but it's there if your interested after trying some wines the Red Moon and Snow Owl were our favorites

Perfect Sunday Lunch and Wine Tasting! We were a party of 4. We arrived around 2pm and the weather was beautiful, so we asked for a table in the terrace. While we waited (around 30min), we did the 5-wine tasting, which was outstanding!! Our sommelier was Michelle, and she was extremely nice, knowledgeable, charming, and Helpful. (More on this). From the whites, I chose the Dry Riesling (2023), the Appalachian Bottom Dweller Dry Riesling (2024), and the Gewürztraminer (2024). From the reds, I tried the Syrah and the Meritage (both 2023). They were all good, and my favorite was the Appalachian Bottom Dweller Dry Riesling. Our table was ready, so we went outside to the deck and had an amazing lunch. I had the turkey sandwich with fries, and it was perfect. I also tried the pasta, from my friend’s plate, which was really good (and the portions are huge!! Definitely big enough for 2 people)!! We had a bottle of Vidal Blanc. This wine is also amazing. (Gold Medal ‘25 Pacific Rim Int’l) Highly recommend!! After this amazing lunch, we were ready to go, but my rental car wouldn’t start. The battery was dead! I called the rental car (Budget) and they said they could send someone “in about 2 hours”. But Michelle, our sommelier, saved my day by talking to dozens of people until she found someone (the owner of Thirsty Owl) who had jumper cables and was kind enough to jump-start my rental car!! Many Thanks Michelle and to Jon Cupp, the owner, for a perfect Sunday afternoon at Thirsty Owl!! Many thanks to other guy in a pick-up truck who also helped with the car until it started!! In summary, If you want to have a great wine tasting experience, and a great lunch experience, please come to this amazing winery!!👍🙏 I highly recommend Thirsty Owl Wine Company. I look forward to come back soon!

We enjoyed our tasting and being able to roll $2.00 of our $5.00 tasting into a bottle of wine. The wines were very good and affordable.

Outstanding views. Nice wine and food options. We had the gluten-free Ruben and fries and it was great. Plenty of outdoor seating. Can’t beat the setting.

Nestled within walking distance of Thirsty Owl, Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery offers a delightful experience in a beautifully converted rustic red barn. Guests can enjoy classic varieties like Cabernet Franc and Semi-Dry Riesling alongside unique fruit-infused options such as Peach Essence and Cranberry Frost.
You guys all rock!! Staff was very welcoming and kind. We traveled by way of our Travel Van to the region. Took the tasting and loved their wines. More bottles to go please!! Lol. Will definitely stop in on our next trip

Very pleasant atmosphere in the large converted barn. A nice change of pace from other buildings. Pleasant, knowledgeable hosts. An owner is also usually there. A good selection of dry wines as well as fun wines. Great place to get gifts to take home too! A must stop on your winery travels.
Carol D — Google review
The owner was so sweet and welcoming, taking time to show us around the winery and explain the winemaking process during our tasting. The setting was absolutely beautiful—full of charm and peaceful energy. The scenery looked like a painting, with the rustic barn framed by colorful foliage. A perfect stop that combines great wine, genuine hospitality, and postcard-worthy views!
Cynthia H — Google review
This place is AWESOME. Had a chance to chat with the owner, Tom, who has owned & operated this vinyard for the past 30 years. Great guy. The staff was exceptionally friendly. My wife & I each had a sampling of 4 wines. I am by no means a wine connoisseur, and some suited my taste more-so than others, but that's the whole point in a tasting, isn't it? If you are on a mission to sample Finger Lakes wines, add this place to your list - you won't be disappointed
Chuck P — Google review
I’ve been visiting vineyards in the area for the last few days and Ms. Bobby had the best hospitality by far. My girlfriend and I stopped in right before she closed and she was still very accommodating. Great conversation and amazing wine! She had the best Chardonnay I’ve tasted and I will def be back to say goodbye before my trip ends.
Ellen P — Google review
We really enjoyed our visit to Cayuga Ridge. The owners, Susie and Tom, were the nicest people. We also enjoyed talking with their staff as they were very hospitable as well. The tasting room was in a beautiful barn. We did a wine flight and ended up buying a couple of bottles.
The T — Google review
Very friendly and attentive staff. The barn look and feel is very rustic. Izzy the dog is super friendly and greeted us on the way in. Bestest girl 11 out of 10. I didn’t try the food but the white wine is pretty good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Cabernet Sauvignon that I tried. Overall great experience
Thomas A — Google review
The staff should be more active in the tasting process. The were each given 4 wines of our choice to taste. The server poured the wines and never said a word about them. We never felt engaged.

Six Eighty Cellars, located on the west shore of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region, offers a unique wine-making experience that combines ancient techniques with modern flavors. Owned by Dave and Melissa Pittard, the winery features chardonnay, pinot noir, Gruner Veltliner, and Pinot Meunier crafted using minimal intervention and traditional-style amphorae for aging.
I loved my tasting experience, and I loved the wine i took home even more. Shemari, sorry if I misspelled your name 😅 did an amazing job of helping me understand my wine taste buds a lot more. Now I know what it is im looking for in a wine and why thanks to his expertise! He was able to explain the wine making process to me in great detail 👌 I can not wait to go back and sit here and watch the breathtaking view. This vineyard is very pleasing to all the senses. I rate this one of my top 5 in the finger Lakes region. I love traveling here, and this one is highly recommended! 100 stats from me!!
Helena B — Google review
It was a really lovely wine tasting experience we had at Six Eighty Cellars. Tony is very knowledgeable and friendly and recommended wine based on our preferences, I know much more about my wine choices than when I walked in. And because Tony knew what to give us, the wine tasted great. Charcuterie was goat, wish they would start selling those as well. View was awesome too, and we loved their blend of modern & rustic furnishing style. A both sensory and visually cool place to visit during hot summer time, would definitely visit again when we come back to Cayuga.
Farrah X — Google review
Such a beautiful venue! Excellent variety of wine choices (tastings, by the glass, or bottle). Menu of small plates to choose from (the whipped feta with crostini was DELICIOUS!). Spectacular views of Cayuga Lake with guaranteed sightings of osprey. Both times we’ve visited , we’ve seen eagles also! The folks who served us were delightful. And to top off this experience, the building itself is chic, so classy!
Teresa H — Google review
We love this winery. They are using amphoras, concrete diamonds, clayvers and sandstone to age their wines. Our faves were the chenin clayver, pinot in sandstone, and a gewurztraminer/pinot noir co-fermant.. but really we didn't have a bad wine. Went back for a second visit on this trip.
Shannon — Google review
Six Eighty Cellars offered the very best tasting I have ever experienced. The charcuterie board was fantastic, but the real winners were the sheer number of unique and complex wines they have available. The key is the vessels that they store the wines in. The Riesling Coccippesto, for example, is stored in a combination of clay, stone, and terracotta, with each material adding and subtracting some aspects of the wine. One wine that took me by surprise was the Chardonnay Clayver, whose storage in a clay vessel led to strong mineral notes, whilst lessening the acidity that often defined the wine varietal. Suffice to say, it was an experience that vastly expanded my understanding of wine and gave me a tasting experience like no other.
Michael P — Google review
Beautiful, modern venue. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The wines were excellent with a large variety.
Ella T — Google review
Great stop on the Cayuga Lake wine trail. Bright new tasting room with great views of the lake. Eco-friendly throughout the growth, cultivation, and storage of their wines. Excellent selection of white, rose, red, and sparkling wines. Kudos to Tony, a friend and former co-worker for hosting our family tasting experience. His pleasant and knowledgeable presentation of our selections was very helpful.

The wine tasting was such an enjoyable experience. Tony was great! We gave him an idea if what we liked and he did a wonderful job guiding us. The charcuterie was a lovely addition. Will definitely be back!

Definitely rustic, and as others have said, tasting area and overall grounds could use some TLC. Friendly, proud owner.

Blackduck Cidery has an authentic, rustic farm feeling as well as a unique selection of dry ciders. I would absolutely recommend you make the stop if you're a cider enthusiast or need a break from the wine trail.
Abigail H — Google review
Not much to look at from the road but the ciders were unique and a nice change of pace from the usual sweet versions. Have some nice merchandise but the tasting area could use a little work, nothing flashy just cleaned up.
Sarah A — Google review
I truly enjoyed my experience at Black Duck Cidery. I went with a my family during graduation weekend. The owner was professional and accommodating. The cider was excellent. I generally don't enjoy dry ciders but every one was delicious and the owner did an excellent job describing what gave each ones its unique attributes. Great rustic tasting room and a nice family environment.
Rebecca R — Google review
Small place, big taste. When we first pulled up, I wasn't sure what to expect as it is a simple & basic tasting room . I was honestly not expecting to like anything - especially as all the ciders were dry. I was very pleasantly surprised. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and made for a great experience. The depth of flavors in the cider were incredible. We will definitely be back on our next trip!
Amy B — Google review
The Finger Lakes Region doesn't have enough cider mills in my opinion. This place is very funky but in a good way. Their tasting room is in a shed basically in a pretty remote location. Their woody is hands down my favorite. I don't come here enough and I should because I don't live far from them. Definitely recommend stopping by for a tasting.
Matthew M — Google review
Blackduck Cidery is a fantastic place to visit if you enjoy fine ciders. The owner runs a small tasting room and give you an fun educational experience while you enjoy some excellent ciders all of which are made from fruit that he grows on his premises. After the tasting, I had a whole new appreciation for what ciders could be. We left with 5 bottles of various ciders and I know we will be back for more in the future.

Sheldrake Point Winery, located on the western shore of Cayuga Lake and spanning 155 acres, is renowned for consistently producing quality late harvest wines. In addition to ice wine - a product they've been crafting since 2000 - the winery has garnered awards for their late harvest Pinot Gris and Cabernet Franc.
Highest accolades for the hospitality plus customer service and for the delicious, beautifully presented food delivered to us under the patio tent. I chose Sheldrake Point Winery for my small birthday gathering celebration because I already knew the setting overlooking Cayuga Lake is spectacular, as is the estate grown and made wine. The winery is under new ownership and hasn't missed a beat. The team impressed us and warmed my heart. They treated us all so well! Best decision to celebrate with the fine wines and staff at Sheldrake!

Enjoyed a nice afternoon sitting outside doing a lovely dry white wine tasting. You get a free Reisling bubbles glass to start & then you pick the rest! Loved the wine glasses the wine was served in. The gentlemen serving us were very nice & kept checking on us. We bought additional glasses & sat outside in the Adirondack chairs looking at the view - very nice!!
Cat M — Google review
Sheldrake Point Winery was an awesome stop! We enjoyed French Dip sandwiches for lunch and it was truly the best French Dip I’ve had ever! We loved several wines but the “Bubbles” was our favorite. Incredible views of both the vineyard and Cayuga Lake. We’ll definitely recommend this special place, with a short, pretty walk down by the historic Driftwood Inn.

Very good tastings! We didn't stay for food, but the menu looked good! The Long Island family staff was super nice and very knowledgeable about wines. The Gewurtztraminer was exceptional!

Wow! This place blew away my expectations. The food, exceptional. The wine, delightful. The portions, generous. The wait, non-existent. The views, stunning. 14/10.

Fantastic winery. Has some of the highest quality wines in the area and for pretty reasonable prices. Can't wait to come back when the weather is nicer. Also the staff were so nice and friendly. They came back frequently to check in on us and kept the place clean and tidy. Really loved our visit! Update from prior review - we came back a year later and got to enjoy the patio and view and again, we had a fantastic time. This winery is a must to visit!!
Meaghan K — Google review
Spent a few hours here with friends enjoying lunch, a few nice white wines, and the gorgeous lake view. Very pleasant and delicious! Our waitress, Maeve, was attentive and professional but never made us feel rushed in any way. Just perfect.
Judy G — Google review
We sat inside for a wine tasting. In retrospect, we wish we had sat outside. It seemed very formal inside. The tasting itself was disappointing. Our server simply took our sheets that indicated our wine choices. He then returned with the wines but took absoluteky no time to explain anything about the wines. He was pleasant but wholly uninformative. The wines were okay but nothing remarkable. At $15 per person for a wine tasting, it was so not worth it, based on the above. We won't be back. As an aside, we also went to Thirsty Owl. It was $5 per person and the server was far more informative ... as one would expect at a wine tasting.

My companion and I had a pleasant surprise when we dined at the Italian Kitchen in Ovid. We received excellent service from Leah, who seemed to genuinely enjoy her job and provided exceptional customer care. The attentive owner took the time to converse with us, displaying his dedication to running a well-run establishment. The quality of customer service at this restaurant is hard to come by nowadays. Moreover, their pizza stood out as being not only delicious but also generously topped with high-quality ingredients.
Great place for pizza. A little pricey on the cost but their pizza quality was excellent. We ordered 6 large pizzas for our group on 15. Kids loved it. Remember to ask for some chilly flakes on the side. Goes very well on the pizza. Inside seating is limited. They are very busy so order ahead.
Sunil L — Google review
Great service. Very good pizza. We ordered a pepperoni and a brothers' combo. Both were very good. My wife ordered a garbage salad. The sauce on the fried chicken was awesome. Great relaxed atmosphere. Not terribly expensive for the quality of food you get.

Nice pizza joint for a quick slice at lunch. Great prices for a large New York style slice. Fast service with seating outside if the inside seating full.
Kristopher K — Google review
We stopped in for dinner on a Thursday and the place was hoppin. Ordered wings (mild) and a personal size pizza. Winge were crispy and very mild. We could have gone medium Buffalo instead, next time. And the pizza was great. The sauce is mild without the strong acidic bite that some corporate places use. The veggies on the pizza were obviously fresh and tasted like it. All in all, a great pizza and wing dinner. Not what we expected in such a small town. Nice job 👏

Small pizza shop with a good selection of Italian dishes. They usually have two different pizzas available by the slice, or a variety of whole pizzas to order.
Gary W — Google review
If I could leave 0 stars I absolutely would! Every time I order, I end up having to pick my food apart because it's messed up. It's even written on the box no tomato and no onion. Yet my wrap is loaded with both. This isn't the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th time this has happened. Unfortunately living in a small town options for ordering food are very limited, bit this is just ridiculous.

McDonald's, a well-established fast food chain known for its burgers and fries, recently encountered a minor setback with an order. However, their attentive employee named Amanda promptly rectified the issues and displayed exceptional customer service by being polite and understanding. The entire team at McDonald's demonstrated great teamwork while efficiently managing both the drive-thru and front counter during a busy period.
McDonald's/corporate overlords, let me tell you... This dude Maurice that was running the drive thru was truly a delight. A wonderful person with a beautiful soul (and a beautiful singing voice). Give this guy a raise or put him in charge because he's amazing! People like him are hard to find. He alone raises the bar for this franchise location. I'd hire him to work at my winery in an instant.

It's a McDonald's but don't expect your food correct 100 percent of the time. We go often and go drive in, inside, and even app pick-up. It is NOT consistent. Some employees are great, others could care less.
