Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park, formerly known as Orono Exotic Cat World, has been a family-owned zoo since 1983. It offers visitors the opportunity to connect with a variety of endangered wildlife species from around the world. The park is home to over 170 animals, including big cats like cougars, snow leopards, tigers, and lions, as well as wolves.
Amazing experience! My 12 year old son and my husband and I enjoyed the entire experience. Sleeping over in the safari lodge and the behind the scenes where we were able to cuddle wolf pups, feed the gorgeous jaguar and play with and pet the lynx and bob cat. The best part of the overnight experience is also being able to go out in the park after hours in the evening when the general public has left. The animals come out more after the hot sun goes down

An unforgettable experience at Jungle Cat World! This place is absolutely amazing and brought so much joy to my son Samy, memories that will last a lifetime. Samy has a rare genetic disorder, and the generosity, kindness, and warmth shown by everyone here truly touched our hearts. A huge thank you to Candice, who made our Behind the Scenes experience so special ; her passion and care for the animals (and for people) shines through in everything she does. And to Kory, whose big heart and kindness in the office made us feel so welcome from the very start. The whole team is genuine, caring, and full of love for what they do. The Behind the Scenes experience was simply magical we got to feed lions, pet a wolf, hug a fox, and feed lemurs! My kids got plush animals from the souvenir shop that they’ve been hugging nonstop they’re already inseparable with them ❤️ We can’t recommend Jungle Cat World enough. It’s more than a zoo, it’s a place full of heart. We’re already looking forward to coming back and staying at the on-site lodge, especially since guests can visit the park after hours and see how the animals are at night. A must-try for families and animal lovers! 🐾

We had such an amazing time, the behind the scenes experience was a dream come true! If you're looking for a fancy zoo, this is not the place for you. BUT if you are looking for a place where you can tell the people love their jobs and the animals they work with this is the place. You get up close with the animals without spending a fortune. You don't have to hope you will see the animals because they are right there, they even have animals just walking around like Mikey the donkey and beautiful peacocks. This place is definitely a hidden treasure. I recommend this place to anyone that wants a different kind of animal experience.
Melissa C — Google review
Had a blast with the kids! We got to watch the lions and wolves be fed, interact with the free roaming alpacas and donkey, and the bunnies were asking for pets. The peahen and chicks were shy but still came around. The playground was a lot of fun for the kids. The food there was good and well priced. I would highly suggest a visit.

*** Access2 Card accepted here *** Support person accompanying the person with disability, who pays, gets in for free. Nice way to spend half a day at a small zoo. Friendly, helpful staff and the zookeepers feeding the animals were informative and entertaining. They mentioned they act as a sanctuary to accept any animals which other zoos did not plan to have and cannot accommodate. Can bring in your own food and drinks hut don’t feed them to the animals. Lots of shaded benches to sit and eat. There are tiki umbrellas providing shade for the tables outside the restaurant. Also there are many tables and chairs in the area next to the restaurant in the covered area. Enclosed areas are small for the large lions, tigers, pumas, etc. but animals looked healthy. Peacocks, ducks, geese, alpacas roam free around the zoo. Can buy food to feed the birds and alpacas. Fun playground for kids with climbing structures, mountain with tunnels, slide and squeaky, vintage metal teeter totters.

Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park is a fantastic destination for animal lovers and families alike. This wildlife park provides a unique opportunity to observe and learn about a diverse range of species, including majestic big cats, playful lemurs, and fascinating reptiles. The park is well-maintained, with spacious enclosures that prioritize the animals' well-being. Staff members are knowledgeable and passionate, offering engaging talks and educational experiences that enhance your visit. The immersive environment allows for close encounters with some of the animals during scheduled feeding sessions. Overall, Jungle Cat World is a captivating place that combines education and conservation, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area.
Erika J — Google review
This past weekend we visited Jungle Cat World for a behind the scenes experience. My father and son participated while my daughter and I followed along and explored the rest of the zoo. The staff were INCREDIBLE in making sure we felt welcomed and educated on the experience we had paid for. The tour guides were exceptional!! They helped to take a ton of photos so my dad and son have memories to share and show the rest of our family. It was so much fun, and a highly recommended gift to give someone!! We picked any 3 of the massive list of animals they had, and the staff were more than accommodating if we wanted to change our minds the day-of. We will definitely be back, especially for another behind the scenes.

Prowl in the Park at Jungle Cat World was an absolutely incredible experience! We, from Shack In The Back Designs, had an amazing time and were thoroughly impressed by the organization and the staff. The dedication to wildlife education and the care of the animals is truly evident in every interaction. It felt like a memorable, up-close encounter that successfully balanced conservation efforts with a wonderful visitor experience. We highly recommend Jungle Cat World to anyone looking for a unique and meaningful night out. We are already looking forward to joining future events to support their important mission! Thank you for a truly wonderful evening. Jacob Shack In The Back Designs

Orono Park is a delightful destination for families and nature lovers alike. This expansive park features a modern playground, a refreshing splash pad, and an inviting outdoor pool that’s perfect for summer fun. Kids can enjoy splashing around in the shallow creek that meanders through the area, while parents appreciate the ample picnic tables nestled under beautiful trees providing shade. The park also boasts walking trails ideal for evening strolls with furry friends.
Beautiful park with an updated playground. Small splash pad. Outdoor pool that’s open in the summer. Lots of people walking dogs in the evening. Loads of picnic tables. Beautiful trees and shade. Only downfall is lots of garbage. We picked up tons- so hopefully it stays clean for awhile.
Lisa R — Google review
Great little park, a small creek runs through it and there's a couple walkway bridges to enter. Unfortunately local kids will sometimes put the picnic tables in the creek, they should chain them together or to the ground.
Cameron W — Google review
We hosted a child’s birthday party at Orono park and were thrilled with the results. There is a bookable shelter for serving food. The playground and splash pad are new and maintained. A small shallow creek circles the playground that kids can play in. We’ll be back and have recommended to friends.

Pool was a bit small, but clean and not overcrowded. Good place to bring kids. You need cash for the pool access fee. No debit. If you have a Clarington Swim card, you will get a swim band right away.

Great heated pool with lifeguards, change/washrooms, picnic areas, kids playground and splash area, tennis court, baseball diamond and a creek. Trail runs through it.

This big park was absolutely beautiful. So many things to keep busy - an outdoor pool, playground, splash pad, hiking trails, lots of room to picnic, etc.

Orono Crown Lands, also known as Buttercup Hollow, is a picturesque picnic spot with a spacious gazebo available for reservations. The area offers 13 kilometers of well-marked trails, making it an ideal location for bird watching and hiking adventures. Visitors appreciate the clean and well-maintained environment, as well as the diverse trail options that provide a refreshing escape into nature.
Perfect for an evening or morning hike in the forest. There are several small loops, easy ones mostly and you can continue on to another trail loop if you want to spend longer in the woods. I loved identifying a lot of fungi. I will definitely go back !
Sri — Google review
Orono Crown Lands really live up to their popularity! Super green and beautiful trail area on easy level. This place has been on my hiking wish list for years since it’s so far away from where I live, but I’m so glad we got there on a beautiful sunny day.
Vicky T — Google review
I rode a bike. But it's a private place. There is an inscription watch out for dog and turn here. I don't want to risk going there, so I decided to turn back. I don’t know that you can walk in the park?! On Google, the map is not an inscription. A little further there is also a private place to photograph the beautiful landscape.
Aleksaleo — Google review
I'm impressed with the well positioned colour signs representing the different trails. We have the Alltrails app. Therefore, we followed their directions. We hiked the blue, red & amber trails. At this time of the year, the usual mosquitoes, we were prepared with Skin So Soft Bug Guard plus spray. Hiking along the Wilmot Creek to the sound of rushing water is soothing . We didn't see any wildlife except for butterflies.
Michelle W — Google review
Had a great experience and plan to visit more often. Very clean and well-maintained, kudos to the volunteers! Also appreciate that the route was well-marked throughout. We took the blue loop (2.5 km) with our toddler on the umbrella stroller and our infant on the carrier and finished it in an hour. The trail can be unpaved, uneven and rugged in parts, so keep that in mind if carrying a stroller.
Charis I — Google review
Great family walk through the trails with freshly-fallen snow. Love the feel of this forest, and the old railroad story and remnants add to the experience. Multiple loops to try. Our 4-year-old made it through the walk in from the parking lot and one loop in snow pants without too much fussing. Parking lot is free, but please bring a few bucks to stuff into the donation box for upkeep.
Josh W — Google review
What a gem! Loved this park and our quick hiking adventure—beautiful little river on the orange trail loop. Many different options and trails to take, so it doesn’t get boring. We came in a hot day and it was very cool inside of the forest and by the water. Each loop would take about an hour. Not a lot of escalation (up the hill) Great place for a hike
Katherine K — Google review
Had a wonderful day with my family on the weekend at Orono Crown Lands. The weather was perfect for a hike. We walked the orange trail but due to time constraints couldn’t finish the trail and had to return from checkpoint #12. The view, the colours, the smell, the sound all worked in harmony at the creek and felt nature was giving me a warm hug. The trail was easy for 3 generation to walk through and the trail kept getting interesting with every step. Will visit again in the winter to check it out in the snowy season.

If you're looking for a fantastic skiing or snowboarding experience just an hour east of Toronto, Brimacombe Ski Resort is the place to be! With 23 diverse runs catering to all skill levels—from gentle greens for beginners to challenging black diamonds—there's something for everyone. Families will find it particularly welcoming, with two terrain parks and a dedicated riglet park for the little ones.
One of best place for beginners and intermediate ski. Green and Blue trails are smooth, black is little bit challenge, good for school event. Lots of kids are playing and enjoying here.
Sam G — Google review
I can only attest to the facilities and not the actual ski/snowboard conditions or process in this review. This is a small but popular ski/snowboard facility. It’s certainly not of the same size and calibre as Blue Mountain. If you’re not skiing/snowboarding, the only area you can stay is the chalet’s dining area. However, it’s quite small so come lunch time, the hungry skiers/snowboarders will be descending into the small area. There are two lunch rooms, however, if it becomes too busy, you might need to vacate. Washrooms are decent.

Great place to ride in southern Ontario. Lots of varied terrain and 3 freestyle runs. Very friendly lift and kitchen staff. Ski patrollers are prompt and are very friendly
Brian B — Google review
My daughter and I purchased season passes for 2024. While skiing my 13 year old daughter fell, and as I am helping her up, a group of boys snowboarded past us yelled the ‘N-word’ and to move out of the way. Once we made it down the hill we spoke to the staff about what had just happened and even pointed out the people involved. They did absolutely nothing other than telling us “We’re sorry this happened to you, we will speak to the boys…” we took a break to see what happens, and the boys were talked to for no more than 10 seconds and then they were right back on the ski lifts again. Not calling the organization racist, but felt that we are second class citizens here. It’s heartbreaking as now my daughter associates skiing as an activity not for ‘our kind’ and doesn’t want to ski anymore, after years of skiing. Horrible experience all together.
Jehan A — Google review
This is a great hill to learn how to ski. The runs are fairly decent , although they go by fairly quickly. Ben's bump and flyer are really fun runs and not overly challenging. The furthest chair lift to the right of the mountain on the map could use an upgrade it's fairly harsh to get on to and has zero padding on your back so that's a bit of a let down when it slams you into place. The price is fair for how many runs you can get in as most runs are done in 1 minute if you take the hill at a decent speed. Overall it's a fun hill and a feat starting point if you're new to winter sports ! $25 day skiing is a great deal !
Josh E — Google review
My son had a field trip through his school that I went along with. Hills were great. They do have lockers to rent that cost 50¢ when you need to open which was pretty good. They have a canteen and the food was reasonably priced. We had 2 hot chocolates, bottle of water, pack of M&M's, fries and chicken fingers and was just under $40. My only complaint was about all the kids had to do a mandatory lesson that had 5 steps to it before you could go on the green hills. Step 1 and 2 were good had instructors that instructed whivh was awesome. Then step 3 and 4 had no one. My son who had never skied before didn't know what to do so I took it upon myself to teach him (even though I am no expert) and then they had someone on step 5 where he passed and was able to move to the green hills. We made it work which was fine however not everyone could do that. Ski rental lined moved fast, all employees were friendly and very helpful! Thanks for a great day!
Michelle R — Google review
Awesome ski hill! Close to Durham Region, Peterborough and Port Hope areas, great terrain and awesome for families and kids. They offer night skiing through the week and Saturday nights, ski school, terrain park (plus beginners park) and on hill rentals and ski shop. There are two chalets and the food is good, especially for a ski hill. The food is also fairly priced. Poutine is great, lots of cheese curds! Knowledgeable people working in the store and they do ski/snowboard tune ups. You won't find any huge mountains in the area, but this little hill offers a great variety of terrain for all levels and lift lines are never longer than a few minutes. I find this to be a larger hill than others in Durham (not sure about height, but certainly more area), which offers more variety in your choice of trails and terrain.
Kathryn M — Google review
The better hill in the east GTA area that you can go to without making the trek up the 400 or going out of province. Many runs, many hills, well maintained, family atmosphere if you’re looking for that but still diverse groups of people from age to skill. Been going for 8 years, will continue to go after this ski season.

The Fire Hall Bistro in Orono is a charming and rustic establishment that offers a delightful dining experience. The owner, Valerine, who is both kind and attentive, ensures that patrons feel right at home. The food served here is made from scratch with care and is incredibly tasty. It's evident that the dishes are crafted using traditional methods, resulting in a comforting and flavorsome meal.
This place is really cute and homey! The owner is super sweet and makes sure you’re happy and full. The food is classic comfort food, and really really yummy and fresh. I would absolutely come back again. It has small town vibe mixed with some city vibes. The exposed brick mixed with country style woods is really nice.

My wife and I stopped in here by happenstance while passing through Orono on family day. What a pleasant surprise. The place is very rustic and full of character. Valerine, the owner, was in to do some cleaning and decided to leave the door unlocked. She is a wonderful lady who made us feel at home. The food is home-made, hand-made and super delicious. My wife usually only eats two or three fries but here, she finished the whole basket. :) We will definately stop here again.

My husband and I were staying in the area and ended up coming here for dinner. Our server (I think she might have been the owner) was super friendly. We got to try a sample of beers to choose the one we wanted with our dinner. We started with a roasted beet salad which was delicious. We both had burgers and they were very good. The potato buns they came on were very soft and tasty. The fries were amazing as well! Would recommend coming here!

Valareine is very hospitable and the food and environment makes for a gem of a location here in Orono, Ontario. If you're bold enough I suggest trying a Fire Hall Burger add a fried egg and a side of gravy!

Felt very welcome as soon as we walked in, the staff/owner was very nice. She recommended the bean burger which was delicious and great for me as I am vegetarian (I find it can be tricky to eat veggie in small towns). My boyfriend got a chicken burger which he enjoyed. The French fries were fresh cut and delicious. A great meal to have on the way home from Ottawa!

My wife, toddler and I had a great dinner here this week. It was pretty quiet that night but that was great. We enjoyed playing some board games as we ordered, loved the old pews for seats, and chatted with the family that runs it. The food was really good, great quality, good portions, great service. If your looking for something a little different than a chain might i suggest driving here for a smaller experience. 5 Stars.

The Orono Country Cafe is a fantastic place to dine, offering delicious food that is well worth the price. The restaurant has received rave reviews for its mouthwatering burgers and fries, which are served in generous portions. Despite a short wait time of 10-15 minutes, the clean and relatively calm atmosphere inside provides a pleasant dining experience. Moreover, customers have praised the friendly waitress and the perfectly brewed coffee.
A small shop suitable for stopping by if you are on your way from Toronto to Ottawa. The restaurant is clean, has plenty of seating and has enough natural light. The food is quite good, but the cafe only has one option: drip. The owner and the customers there are all very friendly. Home Fried is very delicious.

Lived in Orono twenty years ago and returned today to wander the streets, do some antiquing and wondered if this little gem was still running. Indeed it was. Best coffee. Service with a smile. Had a lovely cafe special of eggs, bacon, rye toast and the home fries were just the way I like them (on the grill). Was a lovely quiet little place for brunch. Not crazy busy but just busy enough to enjoy the atmosphere, the people and the food. Will have to come back again soon and try the lunch menu!
April C — Google review
The whole town talks about how great this place is and I found out why when I went and had lunch there the other day There is plenty of seating, it was boiling hot outside, but nice and fresh in the restaurant, everything is very clean and organized, the tables were bussed very quickly and we were served very quickly by our waitress, and the owners came by and said hello everyone was very friendly. My chicken Caesar wrap with fries was absolutely delicious and I could not finish it and my friends also took some of their meals home that they loved I highly recommend grabbing some food from here. You will not be disappointed.

It's always all about fresh not frozen breakfast is pretty good. If your looking for a great stake this is a cafe not a stake Restaurant. It's great for a little town personally I'd like to see a little more originality I'd love there to be a chef that puts his name on everything that came out of the kitchen it doesn't come out unless it was fresh and amazing It's hard to find a chef like that. Everything made fresh with passion and love not so much here. I got the meat loaf that was a special and it was definitely especially dry not very good. My daughter however got a chicken sandwich thing that was amazing. The special I would think should be the best tasting thing on the menu not when I went. Service amazing atmosphere old out of date but it's okay what do you expect. Sometimes the truth is hard to hear and sometimes people hear the truth and run with it and make their place the best they can because they hate when anybody says something negative they don't respond with words they respond with actions.

My recent visit to Tim Hortons was nothing short of delightful! The coffee served was fresh and flavorful, while the donuts were soft and scrumptious. Ive gone to this location a few times when I'm driving accross the 115. My orders are always correct and they're always fairly quick at getting things done and served out. The people I've gotten were always very polite and professional. If you're looking for a quick spot to grab a coffee, tea or even breakfast or lunch, it is a good spot.

We visited this place today with our 2 kids. Our kids love Tim Hortons. But we had a very bad experience today. We ordered 4 crispy chicken burgers and French vanilla. French vanilla was too sweet and not hot at all. When we checked with staff on this, they were not ready to check if it was a genuine mistake, just replied that French Vanilla will taste sweet only. Yes we know that it will be sweet but we also know the taste and sweet limit. And the reply wasn't pleasing. All make mistakes but they were not ready to accept and not customer friendly. The burgers were extremely burnt. The mistakes in food are secondary. The way the staff treat customers is not welcoming. We will never visit this branch again!!!

Like what the hell it was so unnecessary and made everyone uncomfortable. She’s a shorter woman, brown hair and glasses, has a nails on the chalkboard voice.

This facility seems tailor made to justify all the horrible stereotypes given to teenagers. I heard more complaining from people behind the counter in 1 hour than I did in 3 weeks of cleaning toxic grease in the blazing sun. Impressively vapid conversations and bickering resonated constantly behind the counter covering everything from how dumb the schedules were to a life long vape addiction. It was slightly entertaining at points but mostly annoying. AC was good wifi worked and the seats were comfy that's all that really matters. We both know the food sucks

I have stopped at the Tim Hortons Orono location many times while driving south on Hwy 25/115. I have always been served promptly. My orders are always filled accurately and the food and drinks are very good. This is a friendly and pleasant place.

Edit: Tim Hortons, please stop sending automated replies. And send a link which actually works. Worst service. I asked for caramel toffee latte and it tastes horrible. Also the staff is so rude and unwelcoming . Don’t go here. No way I’m having the taste of caramel or toffee. I asked for small and they gave me medium size.

Always a great experience coming here. I had a question about a gift card I got for my grandmother so I spoke with the manager, Melissa. She was so helpful and attentive. You can see she really cares about her job and it reflected on her staff. Wish more managers were like her!
