Our group ate here 3 times in 2 days while in the area. The variety of food kept everyone happy and the quality- fresh and delicious. The service was fantastic! We look forward to returning on our next trip. Also- fantastic vegan options!

We got a chicken burrito and margaritas one of the days, and a cappuccino, banana smoothie, French toast and bagel and lox the other day! Super nice that they’re open early (7am) to grab a bite to eat before surfing or other excursions. It is rainy season so it is quieter at this time of year, but it was really nice because it was quiet and the food both times for lunch and breakfast was very quick! We also bought the pre-made granola And it was delicious! Highly recommend this place, there’s several different options of places to eat, and of course, a lot of different food items to choose from!
A M — Google review
Eat Street in Santa Teresa is a great spot for lunch! The prices are reasonable compared to other places in the area, and the portions are both generous and super tasty. The service is friendly and efficient, which makes the whole experience even better. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a satisfying and affordable meal

amazing place to stop and eat if you’re in santa teresa. the girls that work there are so nice. the food is amazing. it’s beautiful as well.
Bryhn U — Google review
This place is great in that it has a lot of options and variety as well as great prices! We dined here a few times and I will say some things are good and others are just okay. The nachos and tacos were both amazing - nachos were loaded to the max and the fish tacos were super crispy and authentic. Our experience with the cocktails was just okay, we felt they were lacking alcohol and nothing special. I went for the poke bowl given the many good reviews however it was not for me - overloaded with a sweet chili sauce and the tuna had little fat links that made it hard to chew.
Tanya — Google review
Amazing spot. A must go while in Santa Teresa. You have 3-4 different food choices. Everything was amazing.
Brian A — Google review
Such a great hangout spot! We had smoothies, octopus tacos, a curry dish, and pastries daily. Everything was amazing. The staff is so nice and friendly. The parking lot is very convenient
Savannah S — Google review
The coffee is excellent here. Also enjoyed a few smoothies (Very Berry was the best) and bowls (Açaí was the best) throughout the week, as well as gallo pinto with vegan sausages, and smoky mushroom tacos. All quite tasty! And the service was lovely. Ended up using this spot as a bit of a home base between surf outings and felt right at home!

Burger Rancho is a charming eatery that offers a delightful cowboy-themed ambiance and live music on Fridays, making it an ideal spot for families, tourists, and young crowds. The menu features an array of delectable options such as burgers, salads, and more, all crafted from fresh and flavorful ingredients. Visitors rave about the Angus burger and perfectly mixed drinks. Additionally, the high-quality burgers with red meat are highly recommended for their exceptional flavor.
Great place for burgers and salads. Nice size portions with lots of flavor. We had the cheeseburger with cheddar & bacon and added the onion rings. Literally the best ever onion rings…super crispy! The Greek salad with chicken was very tasty and fresh. Definitely will go back again. 🍔 😊
Sandi — Google review
Been coming here every time I come to Santa Teresa. This time I went twice because the burgers are high quality and very delicious. I recommend getting the meat a bit red as it adds to the flavour. Their fries are incredible! Whenever they have live music, it’s wonderful and adds to the atmosphere. The people working there are very nice and attentive. Highly recommend!
Toms V — Google review
if you are looking for great burgers - go to burger rancho! we had a „normal“ rancho burger and a „special“ angus burger. both highly recommended! and the homemade jalapenos sauce - jummy! we come back, for sure! and on top the owner (?) was very friendly and kind. good job guys! 🤙🏼

This place was really cute. We had a great meal that everyone in our group enjoyed. The real star of the dinner was the chocolate milkshake though! It was THE BEST chocolate milkshake that any of us have ever had. I would definitely come here again even though the fries weren't very good.
Adelle R — Google review
The burger was incredible. One of the best burgers I've ever eaten. The restaurant is small and cozy and central enough to be near everything. If you're going in the high season, expect to wait in line to get a table.
Ricardo C — Google review
Very delicious food and nice interior. Wide range of foods besides just burgers. We ate every bite of our food (chicken shawarma and BBQ burger). Prices were good over lunch
Megan E — Google review
Really nice burgers. Really tasty and made with real beef. I loved the music that was playing there. Rock classics from 1990-2000's. Definitely a place to go while in Santa Teresa!
Hubert B — Google review
Nice veggie burger options (which some burger places still struggle with), great smoothies, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Only minus: The music is sometimes a little too loud for our taste.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Costa Rica, look no further than Soda Pura Vida. This charming eatery has quickly become a favorite among locals and travelers alike, thanks to its generous portions and mouthwatering flavors. With an extensive menu featuring traditional dishes like arroz con camarones, casado con pollo, and patacones, there's something to satisfy every palate.
My and my 2 friends came back a handful of times while we we’re staying in Santa Teresa. The delicious food, huge portions, and super fair prices had us coming back! I mostly got the mixed rice with vegetables and I LOVED it! I had it a few times, and I would also get the vegetable typical plate. This place was my first introduction to a soda and it really set the bar high! Try the watermelon smoothie with water on a hot day, it was set super refreshing.
Rigby ( — Google review
Went here twice in 4 days 😂. The food is amazing and staff were friendly. The restaurant was a little dark during the day but it helped keep it cool in the heat. The ceciche mixto with patacones was great, very crispy with warm soft interior. The pollo casado is perfect for a hungry surfer looking to refuel. I also got the maracuya (passion fruit) drink which was sweet and tangy.
Dillon C — Google review
Classic soda food. Great portion size and very yummy. Good value in Santa Teresa.
Anna C — Google review
Great food! The portions are huge, we got four dishes and we had tons leftover for lunch the next day. Would 100% recommend.

Listen is a Soda( Costarrican style Dinner) very basic place! Service is slow so get used to Tico Soda time! Typical/everyday Food is amazing! great Prices! Very fresh as overall costarrican products are! 💯 happy with this place and support them!
Xinia M — Google review
Everything really good and portions really big! we were three and we shared: one arroz con Camarones (rice with shrimps), one Casado con pollo (topical dish with rice, beans, and chicken in this case), both served with a side of fries and salad, and one patacones (mashed platano, which is a sweeter banana, fried and served with beans cream and grated cheese) Was a really beautiful night even thanks to the lovely atmosphere :) we recommend it!

Great food, great cocktails, super fun Happy Hour! Loved the tropical salad, had to take a bite from my husband’s burger! Can’t wait to come back 🙏🏻

Pizzas are amazing. Seriously. Great spot, good atmosphere. A bit long to get our food but you know, it's Pura Vida.
Mathieu D — Google review
The food is actually very good. Had the Hawaiian pizza, chicken parm sandwich and the spaghetti with meat sauce(takeout). also a few Margarita pizza slices. Really good prices, good food, good portion size. This place should be busy, based on why a restaurant is a restaurant, but it’s not a trendy, boho style spot. But check it out, and you will enjoy!
Rob N — Google review
It was excellent! We got the Hawaiian pizza, warm bread with balsamic and puree tomatoes in olive oil and grilled veggies. Soo yummy and service was good!
VENESSA B — Google review
Awesome pizza! But they also serve lot of other things such pasta, sea food and beverages. Great place and customer service, owned by south americans ( I think one guy was from Uruguay). They accept AMEX cards, which is nice. Food quality is very good and prices are fair. You can have pizza for two ( 4 slides each) for 5000mil colones ($9) if you are on a budget.. thats not bad.

This place has everything!!!!! one kid had a pizza The other had schnitzel with tomato sauce pasta I had a salad and ceviche one of the best ones I had Highly recommended great service the staff are so nice!
Shelly — Google review
The big pizza is easy enough for two people. I did the ‘mistake’ and ordered it for my own and I was just filled up to head with Pizza afterwards... They gave us the last two pieces home with a doggy bag. In total the pizza was nothing special but still good. Service was good also.

Restaurant
La Cevicheria is a Peruvian restaurant that specializes in ceviche and other traditional dishes. They use locally caught seafood to support local families and offer a vegetarian option for their ceviche. The restaurant is open every day except Sunday, serving lunch and dinner from noon to 9 p.m. Customers have praised the freshness and deliciousness of the food, particularly highlighting the passion fruit juice and the ceviche tico with mahi and shrimp.
Great seafood, super fresh. The lobster was delicious however, keep in mind that in Costa Rica the lobsters don’t have claws so the portions are smaller than in Canada/US. Seating is limited so best to reserve ahead. Overall a good experience.
Dave E — Google review
First at all..it’s hard to get a good ceviche in Santa Teresa but this place definitely got it👌🏽. It’s my second time in three days now having dinner here. The ceviche was one of the best I ever tried and I tried a lot. I choose the mexican style with camerones and pulpo. You can choose spicy from 1-10. I took the 5 and it was spicy but tasty and eatable! Also had to try the homemade lemonade and de fried camarones as starter 👌🏽 The Service was sweet and so friendly!! Definitely a must try here in Santa Teresa CR
Roberto R — Google review
We ended up going here twice while we were in the area for a week vacation. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals. No bad choice, we had seared tuna, poke bowl and the stir fry. For the poke bowl and stir fry you get to choose your combination of sea food. Our server Yorgan was very friendly and pleasant to talk with.

This spot is a must-try in Santa Teresa! The food is delicious and very well priced. Our server was very kind and offered excellent recommendations. The restaurant itself feels welcoming and tropical.

Such authentic and creative ceviche dishes. We came back twice for the Mexichina. Very fresh fish - as if just out of the water. Yorgan was a wonderful server , very happy to accommodate us. This spot is a must visit if you’re in the area.
Danielle N — Google review
Wowwwww the best shrimp I’ve ever had. So happy I had this incredible dish. The shrimp tastes like it’s been marinating for hours and it was fired on a grill. It’s hard to put into words how tasty this is but it really hit the spot. I ate the potatoes last and only needed two to be completely full. Highly recommend. This will be a dish I dream about for sure. Also everyone here has a good vibe. Very kind and smiley. Excellent spot and definitely my favorite meal in Santa (and I’ve been here for 9 days).
Delina M — Google review
I cannot express what an amazing meal this was. We ordered the tuna poke, the “mexichina” with mahi mahi and the carribean stir-fry with shrimp. I’ve eaten excellent food around the world and this is a highlight. Please, do yourself a favour and eat here. We were also treated to some excellent live music from Skye and his band. Really an amazing evening. Shout out to Carlos, Joshua and Yorgan for their excellent hospitality as well. Cannot rate this place higher!

Love this place! I had the lunch special with a tuna burger, salad and gazpacho. Absolutely delicious! At $12 it is probably the best deal from Santa Theresa to Montezuma. Also, the best tuna burger I think I’ve ever had and a true Spanish gazpacho. Atmosphere is fun and bohemian and the gallery is beautiful. Highly recommend.

This the first place we ate when we got to Santa Theresa, Costa Rica. It set the tone very well. Food was great, the vibes were great. The staff were friendly and hospitable.
Ben-Oni J — Google review
Amazing food and drinks! The premixed cocktails are fresh and SUPERB! We had done a morning fishing trip with Day Trips Costa Rica and caught 2 types of tuna. Aaron (the guide) is also a chef and gave us 4 restaurants in Carmen Beach where we could bring the fish and they would make us something special. We chose to come to Drift. The fisherman’s special was a 6-course tasting menu that BLEW OUR SOCKS OFF! It was so delicious and ranks in my top 5 meals of all time!!!! The tuna carpaccio with ground cherries and cocoa nibs was our favorite, but favorite is hard when all courses were amazing!

Super cute spot! I got an espresso, the spicy black bean burger w fries, and also their drink deal 2 for $15. The spicy black bean burger was homemade and probably the best I’ve ever had. The staff was very nice and spoke amazing English. They came to ask if I was vegan since I ordered the black bear burger and I said I am- they offered me a vegan bun. I was really impressed and appreciative of them making this effort to keep my meal fully vegan. Amazing service, amazing food.

Service was incredible, very attentive and great with recommendations.

Amazing restaurant! The staff is very friendly. The drinks and food are delicious. We had the atum selado, and this dish was amazing! It was so good that we ordered it again. The atmosphere is cozy. Music was playing, and if you visit in the late afternoon, you can also enjoy a beautiful sunset. In the evening, candles were placed on the tables, creating a romantic vibe. We would definitely come back.

The staff at Rancho Itaúnas were absolutely lovely—friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. The location is incredible, especially if you’re looking to catch a breathtaking sunset. It’s the perfect spot to wind down the day with a drink in hand. The food, however, was just okay and felt overpriced for the quality and portions we received. Definitely something to keep in mind if you’re dining here. There was a fun fire show.

Had drinks here one night. They did make an error on the bill (happy hour margarita promo was not correctly applied on bill so we overpaid) but I didn't realize til later when I checked my bank account. Otherwise, the drinks were pretty good and they've got a nice spot by the beach in Santa Teresa. We enjoyed spending time there after sunset one evening and the staff were very friendly and kind.

After researching countless places without knowing the area, I hit the jackpot with Rancho Itauna. This beachfront gem exceeded all my expectations! The rooms were comfortable with good AC and daily cleaning (a real treat). Each morning started with deliciously fresh breakfast before heading straight to the beach just steps away. The Brazilian restaurant on-site was a highlight - incredible food and drinks with ocean views created perfect evening moments. Through their package, I took surf lessons with Palo, who amazingly had me standing and turning on waves by day two! What makes this place special is the atmosphere. The staff clearly loves being there, creating a wonderfully relaxed yet attentive vibe. Don't miss Tuesday nights with DJs, lights and fire dancers drawing people from all around. I've traveled extensively but Rancho Itauna has become one of my favorite places ever. I'm already planning my return next year - something I rarely do as I usually prefer exploring new destinations. If you're on the fence about booking, I can't recommend it highly enough!

Excellent service, friendly staff. Our meal was delicious and the location can't be beat. It was a prime spot for sunset. My partner who is not much of a dessert person, had the Brigadeiro (Brazilian chocolate ball) and he said it was amazing. There were a few items on the menu that could be made vegan and they all sounded delicious. I had the grilled avocado with a tomato and cumin sauce and it was very flavourful. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely the BEST sushi in Santa Teresa! 🍣✨ We were blown away by how delicious and fresh everything was. Our first waitress, Rosia, was so kind and attentive — she took such great care of us! And we have to give a huge shoutout to Manager Rose and bartender Emma, who were the sweetest and made the best drinks. Rose even gave us amazing recommendations for Manzanillo Beach and truly went above and beyond to make our night special. 🙌 It was SO good that we came back again the very next day! 🌴💖 If you’re in Santa Teresa, this spot is an absolute MUST. Ill keep this short and sweet. Came with my girlfriend. Ordered a bunch of food (1 app, 3 sushi rolls, one curry bowl, one dessert). Food was amazing. Well flavored, perfectly cooked. Dessert was perfect size for 2. Not too big. Wine was nice. Service was perfect. She recommended things, gave advice, knew all the details. Place is obviously a tad on the higher side price wise (obviously for good sushi). I would come back here for sure.

Ani's bowls and salads

Restaurant
Ani's Bowls and Salads is a popular spot in the Santa Teresa beach community, offering a timeless space with an outdoor patio surrounded by lush greenery. The industrial-style decor features medium wood tables and black metal finishings. It is known for its healthy meal options, including smoothie bowls, breakfast bagels, salads, and sandwiches. The cafe offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options but it's best to avoid peak hours.
We tried Ani's 5 years ago and wow, everything is excellent now! Fresh food with very good portions and kind servers. Those making the smoothies bowls and sandwiches etc are working very hard. We ended up going here every day towards the end of our trip. Loved loved loved their smoothie bowls (also known as nice cream bowls - my fave was purple), breakfast croissant, Italian sandwich, poke bowl was wild...smoothies good too. Whatever you try, you won't be disappointed - though their hot coffee (flat white) was not my fave in town. Great for takeout too!

We ate at Ani's every day during our stay in Santa Teresa, and it quickly became a favorite! Every morning, we'd stop by for a cappuccino, and the staff was always warm and welcoming. The food was consistently great—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. It does get busy, so I highly recommend going early when they open. We also visited for lunch once, and I had the Mahi Caesar Salad and the Yellow Bowl, both of which were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

The “Morning Sunshine” smoothie was one of the best things I had during my stay in Santa Teresa! I also only preferred to get my iced coffees from here as they were the perfect amount of sweet and delicious. This is a prime location, as it was right across from our Airbnb & it had a path to the beach right next to it. Most seating is outdoor, but it’s covered and airy. This spot is very chill, with good ambience and lots of conversation.

Wow! So fresh and great portions! One of the best bowls I’ve ever had! I got the Poke Bowl, but everything looked so good— you really can’t go wrong with any option!

11/10 Wish we had found Ani’s sooner into our trip. Best breakfast in town, way better than The Bakery as it feels like a small cafe rather than a restaurant. Açai bowl was to die for, capers/salmon bagel was tremendous. Flat white and latte was out of this world. We also had a chocolate muffin which was fresh and decadent. Service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable.

This place is sooo yummy!!! Liked it so much I came twice. Great veggie and vegan option. Their smoothies are really amazing. Good portions and really nice staff. Both times I went was semi busy, but didn’t have any issues with waiting for food. Highly recommend all the items I got (veggie breakfast burrito, morning sunshine smoothie, and the protein bowl. Would go again if I had more time.
