Capesterre-Belle-Eau offers access to some of Basse-Terre’s lushest scenery, with banana plantations framed by the slopes of La Soufrière volcano and views along the Caribbean coast. It’s a convenient base for visiting nearby natural highlights such as Les Chutes du Carbet, one of Guadeloupe’s most famous waterfall sites. The commune also has black-sand and pebble beaches where you can watch strong Atlantic surf and local fishing activity. With favorites like Cascades Carmichael, Rencontre Garden, and Le Cabana Grill, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Le Cabana Grill and Restaurant le ti -punch so you can get the best taste of Capesterre-Belle-Eau while you’re here. Hiking area
Accueil des Chutes du Carbet offers a captivating experience with its breathtaking waterfalls. The first fall is particularly impressive, allowing visitors to get up close and feel the power of the cascading water. The walking paths provide a well-laid out route, although access to the second waterfall is limited due to a landslide. Despite this, the overall visit is described as fantastic, with visitors advised to wear good shoes for the slippery terrain and be prepared for cold water if approaching the falls.
There are some great waterfalls available however we did not visit all of them due to the time it took for hiking and because one of our family hurt their ankle with the trip to the Volcano two days before. You do need to pay for admission but the fee was not that high.

230803- the trail to the first water has washed out. You can’t proceed any higher. And you really can’t see the waterfall at all. It’s an interesting hike about 45 min each way.

(Translated by Google) So I did the first and second falls of the hut. Simply magnificent. On the other hand, I'm athletic and fit, and honestly, it took me 5 hours round trip to do both falls. As for shoes, I had sneakers, and yes, it's slippery and muddy. You have to cross a waterfall, and it's slippery, and in some sections you have to hold on to ropes to get through. To do with children 10 years and older, in my opinion. Fall number 1 is really hard. Fall number 2 is easy.
Delphine M — Google review
(Translated by Google) Cascades 1 and 2 are worth doing for the scenery. Cascade 2 is very easy; for Cascade 1, you need to be in good physical condition, but the course is very well laid out, although muddy in the rain. The €6 entrance fee is well worth it, considering the upkeep of the site.

4.3
(204)
2eme chute du Carbet is a stunning 110-meter high waterfall located in the heart of the lush rainforest within Guadeloupe National Park, in Capesterre-Belle-Eau. It's easily accessible via a paved road, making it suitable for visitors of all ages. The journey to the waterfall takes about 20-25 minutes and offers breathtaking views at the end.
This is the most accessible waterfalls in the area. The road there is paved so even old people can go to it. It takes 20-25 minutes from the entrance to go there and the view at the end is breathtaking. I would say it's a must visit because it gives you the opportunity to be in a real jungle, a place where you can't really walk without a machete. At the entrance there will be someone who will give you a brief description of the area. The price this year is 5.30E, decent enough for the experience.
Dan S — Google review
We visited the Carbet falls yesterday and it was great. It's a series of waterfalls and we visited the 2nd waterfall. The 30min walk to the falls is long and through a series of walkways which can sometimes be slippery so comfortable shoes are recommended. The viewing platform was busy when we visited so there was a queue to go up to the platform to take a photo. The experience was great and highly recommend a visit if you're in Guadeloupe.

À fairly easy walk with some stairs. It's too bad one can no longer swim in the pool at the bottom of the falls.

(Translated by Google) An accessible and short route, 1 hour round trip, superbly laid out, along the river and through the forest. At the end, you can observe the waterfall from afar, then take the steps back in the other direction. All this for 6 euros. If you're not very adventurous and not used to trails, this is perfect. The forest is magnificent.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful waterfall, but one that's been sanitized for tourism. 6 euros for those over 12, and there's no access to the falls. You end up on a small 4m² site on the side. Very disappointing. I recommend you do the first waterfall from the opposite access point. A longer and more challenging hike, but a truly unique waterfall.

Cascades Carmichael offers an exhilarating hiking experience that leads you to the stunning Paradise basin in Capesterre-Belle-Eau, just a short 15-minute trek from the breathtaking second waterfall of Carbet. This picturesque spot is perfect for diving enthusiasts, providing ample depth for a refreshing plunge. As an added bonus, if you venture just 10 minutes further down from the Paradise Pool, you'll discover a delightful warm-water waterfall that invites relaxation after your adventure.

The 3rd waterfall of Carbet is a stunning natural wonder that captivates visitors with its beauty. Accessible via an easy path, even families with young children can enjoy the journey, which typically takes about two hours round trip. However, to fully appreciate the breathtaking views of the waterfall, you must navigate past barriers that restrict access. While the initial trail is straightforward and manageable for all ages, venturing beyond requires caution and good footwear due to increased difficulty.

(Translated by Google) Warning ⚠️ Very nice waterfall but since the closure of access to the pool only one viewpoint of the waterfall is accessible and you can only see part of it. The paths are therefore poorly maintained. To do but only if you have the motivation and good shoes. A fall in the mud left me with a big bruise! You can access it via a parking lot near the meeting gardens.
