The HMAS Sydney II Memorial in Geraldton is a significant tribute to the sailors lost at sea during World War II. Situated on a hilltop overlooking the city and the Indian Ocean, this memorial features an eternal flame, a stele, and a pool. It commemorates the Australian ship HMAS Sydney and the German cruiser Kormoran, displaying the names of hundreds of lost men.
Really moving place. The memorial is beautifully done and the view over Geraldton is awesome. Cool to learn the story behind it too. Peaceful spot—definitely worth stopping by if you're in town.
Athul A — Google review
Our visit to this memorial was made extra special by Trevor, the volunteer guide. His ability to add some moments of humour to this tragic tale was masterful and a very polished delivery. Having serve aboard HMAS SYDNEY III during the Vietnam War, I felt a deep connection with the loss of so many young Aussie sailors. RIP Mates.
Gary M — Google review
Beautiful memorial, located on Mt Scott overlooking Geraldton, a tribute to the sailors lost when HMAS Sydney II was sunk on 19 Nov 1941. The dome of silver souls was very pretty. The waiting woman and stele symbolising the bow were very meaningful along with the wall of rememberence for the 645 sailors. Would absolutely recommend visiting. Plenty of parking.
We C — Google review
Along with Saint Francis Xavier's Cathedral this was a clear highlight and stand out of things to do in Geraldton. There has been a lot of thought put into the design and the layout with concentric circles, domes spheres and a lot of symbolism in what has been chosen to represent each different part of the memorial. I came here twice, once in the afternoon and the following day at sunrise. The area is kept clean, there are toilets nearby and it is a great place to come and reflect as well as a great place to take photos. There are informational plaques, the dome of souls made up of 645 seagull figures that represent the lives lost in the sinking of the HMAS Sydney two, there is a circle of remembrance, a stele monument with the Australian flag on top, a centrepiece with a replica ships propeller and other fine details to walk around and learn about. The Browne Town.
Stephen B — Google review
What a beautiful acknowledgement to the crew members of the fateful warship. Set upon the hill overlooking the ocean. The most poignant piece was of a forlorn woman looking out over the sea watching & waiting for her loved one to return. That & the names of those who didn’t return home. Thank you.
Di H — Google review
I proposed to my girlfriend of four years at this perfect spot when the sun was setting. Stunning landscape view overseeing Geraldton.
ExDee — Google review
The circle of life and death is embodied in this Memorial. Well appointed, considered and maintained, the memorial's many elements speak to soul. If you spend the time to take in the surrounds, and read the plaques, it makes for a poignant and moving experience.
Anne F — Google review
We joined the 1030am tour and were very surprised how much back story was shared along with recognising the seafarers and others lost in the sinking of the Sydney. The memorial itself is a must-see both during the day, at sunset, and after dark to fully appreciate the time thought put into the site.

Supermarket
Coles Geraldton is a bustling supermarket that truly caters to all your daily needs, conveniently located in the heart of the city. With an extensive selection of groceries at competitive prices, it’s a one-stop shop for everything you might require. The dedicated staff are known for their kindness and helpfulness, making every visit pleasant. However, during peak hours, it can get quite busy, leading to longer wait times at the checkout.
All of one person's day-to-day requirements satisfied at one convenient location. It is located smack dab in the middle of all the action in the city. The staff works extremely hard and is very kind and helpful to customers....
Aqib K — Google review
It was a great mess with staff filling shelves.I fail to understand why it can't be done before shopping hours start. Staff did ignore customers and pretending not to see them. We noticed isles fully blocked with stocking trolleys. It has a good range of produce and we did notice that most of the products were priced. A pleasant surprise was the fact that we didn't have to wait a long time for check-out service and the checkout operator was cheerful and helpful.
Beat O — Google review
Obviously the staff unloading products are much more important than customers trying to shop... I was run over and hit with a cage trolley today when the man pushing it clearly saw me but he had to shove through and hit me with his trolley. Not a happy customer at all!!! When I yelled ouch, he just kept going and yelled sorry!!!

What about Manning all the check outs so people can get thru quickly and man the express lane not everyone wants to use self service, those are the reasons I don't shop at Coles unless it's absolutely necessary.

There’s a reason I use self checkout, I want to be left alone !!!! To the Asian girl that was working the self service checkout when you push in between myself and my husband taking my already purchased bag and scanning it !! And scanning my coke carton etc back off !! Then getting angry when I asked you to back off. Thank for profiling me and my indigenous husband, didn’t see you do this to the white lady behind us !! Cole sleep your staff are racist !!! Do better.

Nestled in the heart of Geraldton, Northgate Shopping Centre is a delightful destination for all your shopping needs. Recently acquired by Centuria Capital Group's Primewest, this vibrant hub offers an impressive array of stores including Coles, Kmart, and various specialty shops like cafes and a chemist. Shoppers will appreciate the clean environment and friendly staff that enhance their experience.
Fantastic location for shopping for all of your regular necessities for the house. Massive selection from which to choose the items. Incredible in its efficiency!

Huge caravan park. It is in perfect location 👌 The manager was lovely to talk to on the phone for our booking and sent a lovely msg of Welcome.. Love it already
Naomi K — Google review
Shame on you, Geraldton! Northgate Shopping Centre is so old and outdated that it's ridiculous. The parking situation is beyond a joke, stupid place to put a Hungry Jacks store, try going through the drive through when the North gate Shopping Centre is busy, with cars coming and going. The Geraldton city council needs to head down to Bunbury, where I live, and see how proper shopping centres are run. The choice of where to shop is also beyond a joke. The size of Geraldton and the surrounding towns, all you have to offer is Kmart !!? Geraldton needs a shopping centre like Eaton Fair down in Bunbury. Thank goodness I don't live here anymore. I only visit once a year and believe me that's even too much.

History Museums
The Museum of Geraldton is a local history museum that offers a fascinating exploration of indigenous, European, and natural history. It features the famous Shipwrecks Gallery, showcasing the wrecks of HMAS Sydney (II) and HSK Kormoran through high-quality 2D and 3D images. Visitors can also enjoy other exhibits such as old medical instruments, natural artifacts, and displays exploring the region's rich history.
What a truly remarkable museum, especially for a small city like Geraldton! I visited the museum based on the recommendation of a couple whom I had a chance meeting with while traveling through Northampton. They raved about the displays and the free entry. They were right. Super-sized gift and souvenir area to check out. Very friendly and helpful staff as I had the good fortune to speak with Ebony. Make the museum a stop for you while in Geraldton!
David V — Google review
It’s definitely worth a visit! The guide was friendly and enthusiastic throughout the tour. The museum’s sections are beautifully and clearly displayed, and there’s even a 3D cinema room. However, a few areas were a bit dim, which made the information hard to read. The souvenir shop also had lots of interesting items.
Quentin D — Google review
The museum is free entry. They work on donations are strongly recommend everybody donates because this is a great activity to do in Geraldton. There is nothing information here that you could easily spend about four hours but you can get through a little bit quicker if you skip over some of the informational plaques. There is information on the indigenous history, the history of the settlers, the Murchison River, the shipwrecks from the Dutch East India trading company off the coast near Geraldton and the Abrolhos Islands, and plenty of other interesting generic information such as things about the wildlife the Leeuwin current and the Point Moore Lighthouse as well. I can't speak highly enough of the museum. To me it is the perfect size - where you can easily get lost for a number of hours, but not too large that you can't get through the whole thing in one day. The location is right on the marina so before or after your visit you can enjoy a nice walk along the marina. The Browne Town.
Stephen B — Google review
This was an awesome collection the guide had great knowledge & could answer any questions regarding the collection & then some was a good morning of history for us as we visited the HMAS 1,1 site before hand

Woolworths Geraldton

Supermarket
Woolworths Geraldton is a convenient shopping destination located in the heart of Geraldton at Stirlings Central. The store offers a wide range of products including fresh fruits, vegetables, and bakery items. There are two Woolworths locations in town, each with its own strengths. The Seacrest store has a relaxed atmosphere while the Stirling Centre location offers a larger range of products but tends to be busier.
We stopped here briefly to get supplies. Mum went shopping while dad and us (lilly and Skye) stayed in the cool motorcar.
Tina H — Google review
For the prices they are charging for groceries lately, you would think they'd have better customer service. Woolworths definitely isn't spending any of their huge profits on their staff. Waited over 20 minutes in line for one of the only two checkouts that were open. The other checkout was the express/cigarette counter and that had an even longer, slower queue.
Grant S — Google review
Off today so thought will do grocery first… what a poor service at woolies… the register lady was a bit annoyed on some thing and stopped scanning the items and started giving me look… when i asked her are you ok.. she said she is but keep staring at me… 😤poor customer service at its best…
Ash C — Google review
I came to Woolworths at 4:40 PM to collect my partner's Click & Collect order. While others were getting their orders, mine was delayed. Around 5 PM, I spoke to a staff member who was bringing out orders. I showed him my order details, and he said he would bring it out within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I waited for over 30 minutes, and no one brought the order out. Meanwhile, the staff member who said he would help just went back to stocking shelves and didn’t pass on the message to anyone else. Finally, a kind young woman came outside, and when I explained the situation, she brought the order within 10 minutes. I really appreciated her help—but overall, this experience was frustrating and showed a lack of communication and responsibility from the earlier staff member. Definitely not the level of service I expected

It houses a variety of stores including Woolworths, Best & Less, Reject Shop, Red Dot, and over 30 specialty shops. Churches & Cathedrals
St Francis Xavier's Cathedral, located in Geraldton, is a stunning Roman Catholic church that was constructed between 1916 and 1938. Designed by Monsignor Hawes, it is considered one of his finest works. The cathedral features a central dome and twin towers, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship from over a century ago. Visitors can explore the interior and learn about the building's history through guided tours or visit the small museum on site.
Visiting St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral in Geraldton was a wonderful experience. The architecture, which is over 100 years old, is truly stunning and a testament to the craftsmanship of that era. Inside, there's also a small museum that offers a deeper insight into the history of the cathedral and the local community. The peaceful and reverent atmosphere makes it a perfect place for reflection. Additionally, the Cathedral Parish Office has a selection of religious goods available for purchase. Overall, it's a must-visit if you're in Geraldton, whether for its historical significance, spiritual ambiance, or the museum.
Albin K — Google review
Fabulous place to visit, decorated a bit differently to the normal Cathedral or Church but has the most beautiful stained glass windows, fabulous statues, a very grand looking organ near the altar and another on a balcony overlooking the altar. The staff are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Cathedral and willing to talk and answer questions with passion
Lesley-Jane W — Google review
I rated St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral really highly mostly for its architectural beauty and being such a standout landmark within the city of Geraldton. It's worth spending some time here, especially around the outside but if you do get an opportunity to walk through the inside that also offers some value as well. Make sure to come by after sunset or before sunrise to see the church lit up which adds a different element. The Browne Town.
Stephen B — Google review
Beautiful cathedral right in the middle of town which was empty when we arrived in the mid-afternoon on a Sunday. The building and grounds have been maintained very well and it has a unique catacombs which you can peek in from the ground floor. Pity we could not go down or up to see as there was no one about.

Point Moore Lighthouse, an active red-and-white striped tower with a fresnel lens, was erected in 1878 and stands at a height of 34m. It is an iconic structure of Geraldton that stands out against the natural landscape with its candy stripes. The lighthouse also features exhibits and events for visitors to enjoy. Across the road from it lies Point Moore Beach where one can find a miniature replica lighthouse.
We were so lucky to visit inside the lighthouse in April! I believe it’s only open two days a year. Such a great experience. Note: For safety reasons, visitors aren’t allowed to climb the stairs or go to the top, but even just being at the base was amazing!
Lucie — Google review
There is the possibility this lighthouse could be so much more. There is an information board in front, and that's it. Unless you are a diehard collector of lighthouse photos, you might want to skip this one. There is a large carpark next to the beach across the road that may be a better destination to consider. The algae was quite fragrant today.
David V — Google review
Visited Point Moore Lighthouse in Geraldton today – WA’s oldest surviving cast iron lighthouse, built in 1878. Those bold red and white stripes are even more stunning in person. Just across the road, the beach is pure magic – soft pale sand, turquoise waves, and that salty ocean breeze. A perfect mix of history and coastal beauty. 🌊❤️
Donna D — Google review
Worth a stop just to take some photos. This is the tallest steel Lighthouse in Australia. There's not much else to do here and not really much else to talk about. It looks pretty cool and makes for a good subject for photos but there really isn't much to do here. The Browne Town.
Stephen B — Google review
What’s lovely old lighthouse - I was surprised by the face that it isn’t built on the foreshore, but is set well back from the beach. The face that the local council has been able to retain so much of the history of the lighthouse, which is displayed on the information on site, is wonderful to read, all the lighthouse keepers are also listed back to the first keeper. It’s a lovely lighthouse to quickly checkout while passing through Geraldton. There is a free parking lot across the road and easy access onto the beaches, although they are currently quite eroded and not looks like the council or land are are currently working on restoring the sand dunes and beach itself.
Marjorie — Google review
Visited Point Moore Lighthouse in March. While the lighthouse itself wasn’t accessible at the time, the sunset view from the nearby beach was absolutely stunning. Watching the sun dip into the ocean created such a peaceful and beautiful vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you love sunsets!

Colourful counter-serve chain with a humanitarian focus, for Mexican staples to eat in or take away.
The food that they serve is really excellent. It tastes really good and it is absolutely more then enough. The plate 4 plate donations are really wonderful. When we arrived there.. already 176.172 plates had been donated. Keep it up! It is also nice that there is enough parking space since you ll most likely visit this Zambrero by car.
Frits G — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at this zambrero due to the rude behavior of the staff. From the moment we walked in, the attitude was unwelcoming and dismissive. When we asked simple questions about the size quantity of our meal, the server responded with impatience and sarcasm. It felt like we were bothering them just by being there. Customer service is just as important as the food, and unfortunately, the poor attitude of the staff completely ruined our meal. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant experience.
HIREN M — Google review
Ordered online thinking it would be easier and quicker, but I was wrong. I picked up my order with totally the wrong ingredients added onto the nachos (one of which I'm intolerant to, and definitely didn't add this onto my order online). When I asked why this is, the explanation I got was "we do it differently in this store". What's the point in being part of a chain if you don't want to make what it stipulates on the online order system? Perhaps it's an issue with the order system itself. But, either way, it ended up wasting more time which I initially hoped to save by ordering online.

Nestled near the stunning Geraldton Cathedral, Laian Restaurant is a modern gem that invites you to indulge in the vibrant flavors of the Levant, expertly crafted by chef Nadeem Turkia. This delightful diner prides itself on sourcing local produce, showcasing the region's bounty through dishes like house-made sausages featuring Southern Rangelands lamb and delectable filo-wrapped pies filled with western rock lobster.
Good option if you don’t want to eat pizza and fish&chips in Geraldton. Prices are a little on the high side, but we still ate here and enjoyed it.

My wife and I came for dinner at the restaurant tonight, 10th of August. From the moment we arrived the wait staff were welcoming, friendly and very informative when we asked questions about food. We had the trio of dips for starters, no photo unfortunately as we couldn't wait to get into it! Overall really delicious and very generous serve. For mains we had the Chicken Maryland and the Slow Cooked Goat, again no complaints with either of these dishes, delicious and generous in sizing once again. Lastly we had the dessert which was made by chef Tim! Poached pear with a delicious mix of oats, vanilla, syrup and nuts! Absolutely 10/10 dish, would recommend this to anyone! Even upon leaving the lovely ladies were happy to chat and very receptive to all feedback. Pricing was very fair and we were so happy with the atmosphere and experience! Will absolutely be back again!

When we got there, we were surprised to find the menu was a '2 course' or ''3 course' as I'd seen imenu pictures posted by the restaurant that had individually priced items. Decided to go ahead and eat there anyway and chose the 2 courses for $55. Given we were there at around 6.30 and there was only 2 other tables (1 with about 5 patrons, one with 2) when we were wanting to order, service was surprisingly slow. Took a while to be attended to and then it was about 20 minutes before our trio of dips and 2 lamb skewers came out. Very small portions, especially the lamb. Flavours were very nice though. The entree plates sat on the table for a good while before staff finally removed them and called mains away at 7.30, later than what we were hoping because we were hungry. I had the linguine as I had heard it was great and my partner had the goat. The portion again was quite small. The goat was a bit salty and the 'local seafood' in my linguine contained minuscule prawns and calamari rings that I'd be surprised if they were fresh as they were chewy. Given the previously charged price for the trio of dips was $12, based on that, either my meal or my partners had to be worth $43...which they definitely were not. Portion sizes did not match price charged. Only major positive was flavours in most items were very nice. Good to experience, but based on slow service, portion sizes and price, I will not be back.

The host is an engaging, friendly gentleman with an impossible to hide passion for food. The results are memorable. From a traditional Syrian breakfast that was full of flavour and textures to a crayfish pie that I wished would never end, the creative genius has made a restaurant that would satisfy customers in a major city anywhere. I highly recommend people try this place. Geraldton, you lucky lucky people.

Not only is the food incredible, this is a beautiful story. Syrian refugee Nadeem Turkia opening up his dream restaurant, Laian, backed by locals after they were blown away by his food. And we were too. Man this is good, soulful and love infused food. My wife loves middle eastern food and we came across Laian while in Geraldton. Firstly, Nadeem is the type of person you meet and instantly feel like you’re going to be life long friends. He has a beautiful, genuine energy filled with passion. And it shows in his food. We ordered the moussaka and tasting plate for two (should read four!). Servings are generous here, like you would experience when visiting someone’s home. The moussaka was rich, layered and warming. Like something your Nan would make on special occasions and you’d look forward to. The tasting plate featured shakshouka , dips, bread, falafel, kebabs, spiced mushrooms, ful medames, and salad. Every element was delicious. It was fresh, hugely flavoursome, authentic and best of all, felt home made. It’s pure, made with love. The baklava was sensational. The best I’ve had. Beautifully balanced, just sweet enough and spice driven with lots of clove. Nadeem came around to each table to check on his guests, and had a chat. Every table nodded enthusiastically at how good the food was. Big smiles all round. More restaurants should be like this. It’s Nadeem and his heritage on a plate. It’s love, it’s a story, and it feels like someone’s cooked for you at their home. We can’t wait to go back.

Had an amazing dinner tonight at Laian. They accommodated us outside with our small dog - even provided her with water. Food was fantastic - we had the special Crayfish, freekeh, and the mash potatoes. Mash was the creamiest, smoothest I’ve ever tasted in my life! The Moussaka was rich and delicious. We also stuffed ourselves with Falafel for entree, Arabic Pancake and Persian Love cake - all divine. The lady who served us throughout the evening was wonderful and hospitable, sorry we didn’t get her name. 10/10 will return!

Chinese restaurant
During my recent road trip, I stumbled upon Noodle King in Geraldton, and it was a delightful find for anyone craving oriental cuisine. The restaurant has a straightforward yet inviting setup, and the friendly chef welcomed me with warmth. With an extensive menu featuring various rice and noodle dishes, I opted for the Shredded Duck Meat Fried Noodle. For just AUD 23, I received a generous portion that could easily satisfy a family of four!
Perfect addition! Here's the updated version of your review with that included: Noodle King – Geraldton ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We recently visited Noodle King while up in Geraldton and were very impressed. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely amazing – full of flavour and cooked to perfection. A great variety of dishes to choose from, all at reasonable prices. The shop itself was clean and spacious, with plenty of room to sit down and enjoy your meal. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeaway, it’s a comfortable and relaxing spot. Another great bonus is the location – Noodle King is conveniently close to all amenities, hotels, and the beautiful Geraldton foreshore and beach. It’s the perfect stop whether you're a local or just passing through. Highly recommend if you're in Geraldton and craving fresh, tasty noodles! Brian & P'Tree

Amazing fried rice! It’s simple but so tasty. Noodle was average. Pretty big portion for the price. Worth to give it a try.

The food was a bit greasy but still good. The staff was nice. I didn't see them wash their hands, wear gloves or hair net. They also cross contaminante by using the same utensil for getting the meats and veggies.

For western area, this restaurant really helped my craving for Chinese food. The other great thing was that it opened until 9 pm, where most of the restaurants in Australia closed already. I visited this restaurant twice, once for dinner and lunch (the next day). My wife and I ordered Noodle Special Hot Box, Singaporean fried rice-noodle, Special fried rice, and chicken dim sum. So, it's recommended guys! Enjoy!

These guys have probably the best value take-away in Geraldton. The servings sizes are large and the prices more than reasonable. They are always quick in preparing the food which is always tasty and full of flavour.
Grant S — Google review
The food prices are relatively cheap and they have large portion of servings. Pay with cash and you'll get discounts. The place is quite small for a big group, but it's definitely great for takeaways.

On road trip, wanted some oriental food, googled and found this shop. Decided to try and did not regret. The shop simple renovated with simple setup. Greeted by the chef who is Chinese. Seem to have a huge selection of rice and noodle. Decided on Shredded duck meat fried noodle and additional an additional portion of meat (no vege as requested). Cost about AUD23. But the portion is good enough for my family of 2+2. The taste is good for me as a Singaporean. Quite a familiar taste.

I had the seafood megorang, which was easily the best noodle meal I've ever had, big, hot, fresh and tasty, it's a no frills takeaway, but the food is great.

Sandwich shop
Subway is a popular fast-food chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads. They offer a variety of healthy options to cater to health-conscious individuals. The counter-serve restaurant allows customers to build their own meals according to their preferences. Subway has gained a reputation for providing excellent customer service, as evidenced by the positive feedback regarding their attentive and apologetic staff.
Very good experience today at subway I loved how the girls wear their name badges so I know who they are. Katie - lovely service Kristie - I enjoy how she is always up for a chat while waiting for the food and that she is always smiling Milo ( I think ) - always has a smile on her face and is so polite Will be coming back for sure!! 👍

Ordered a 6 inch meatball sub, it was good but the service I got was not okay. The girl who served me (named Miranda was obviously not having a good day. Did have a bit of a stench of cigarette coming off her which I guess is alright but at least try to cover it so I know it’s not going in my food another girl started doing my salads because the girl named Miranda had to do something at the back I could hear her bad mouth another employee, just felt unprofessional to do while customers are around. There for the store it’s self was pretty clean little mold but Employees touching there faces and clothes and then proceed to make my sandwich was another put off. I hope to come back another time and have a better experience

Subway is an amazing spot in Geraldton. But the sewer smell outside is despicable I almost puked smelling it. As I went in the subway I could only see how dirty the floors were. The tiles looked brown sticky and looks like a lot of bacteria. I thought to myself the service couldn’t be bad could it? Wrong this blond girl I believe name is Miranda as she was serving me all I could smell was cigarette smoke and almost puked again. She was rushing me and throwing the veggies on with no care in her mind. I saw the other workers looking at her in confusion as why she was rushing me so much. She kept giving me dirty looks and was clearly judging me with her eyes. I felt very hated and not welcomed in this line of work when I asked for more carrot she scoffed and muffled something underneath her breath. I was mortified in why they let young workers treat there elder like that. When I asked if the veggie is fresh she said in a rude tone “yes it is have you seen the ad saying subway eat fresh” I was just baffled at this point and proceeded to pay she then went in the back and who knows what she was doing probably talking about me. The food overall was a 3/10 the toasted sandwich made the tomato and lettuce warm and soggy and the bread was stiff as if it wasn’t fresh. I don’t think I will be coming back in a while and stick with my hello fresh.

Ordered online and, unfortunately, they made my order wrong. They apologised and remade the order correctly. Food was good, albeit with an unexpected extra ~10am wait.

The server had gloves on, and was writing on a list when we arrived. Didn't change gloves to select our bread. My daughter is a vegetarian and a knife that cut up the meat footlongs was used instead of a fresh knife to stop food transfer. A fresh knife should be used with each sub.

Ordered a gluten free wrap and it was great to see that the staff certainly know how to handle making an GF wrap. AAA+

All subway taste the same so I'm not going to comment of that . But the staff were super slow there was no rush to get the massive line of people served . I probably won't be back because your going to be flat out getting and eating on your lunch break

Skeetas Restaurant Bar & Cafe is a must-visit dining spot in town, situated on the boat harbour with picturesque views of the marina. The casual and relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal place for a leisurely meal. The menu boasts an array of fresh seafood options, including their signature Dhu Fish dish, reminiscent of a charter fishing experience. With its stunning waterfront views, it's the perfect setting for a sunset dinner.
We arrived into Geraldton on Easter Sunday without a booking. Lovely chap squeezed us into there what seemed like fully booked restaurant. We had a fantastic outdoor table watching the sunset over dinner. A crowd favourite was the Whiting & chips… delicately battered, delicious chips & perfectly balanced garden salad. Othered loved the pizza, dumplings & garlic prawns. The highlight was the service from Ethan… what an awesome chap and so friendly too. Thanks everyone for making our night spesh! Happy Easter 🐰💛

The hommus and bread were amazing and definitely a starter I’d recommend, though a little extra bread would’ve made it perfect. The garlic prawns were full of flavour, the steak was cooked exactly to perfection, and the Kilpatrick oysters were really good. The only dish that fell a little short was the scallops — they were small and I think they would’ve been much nicer left as they are, rather than wrapped in bacon. The atmosphere was lovely, with background music at just the right level — you could hear it without it being too loud, which is something I really value in restaurants. On top of that, the view of the harbour created a beautiful setting to enjoy the meal. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff were warm and accommodating, even when we came in an hour earlier just to use the bathrooms while checking into our hotel. That friendliness really added to the experience. Overall, Skeetas is a great spot in Geraldton — good food, welcoming service, and a relaxed atmosphere with gorgeous views. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a wonderful experience at Skeetas Restaurant Bar & Café! They offer some vegan options, which is always appreciated, and everything we tried was very tasty. The absolute highlight was the hummus – honestly the best I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service attentive. Great spot for a nice meal with friends or family.

The call was answered by an AI system, so I didn’t end up making a reservation. When we arrived, we waited about 30 minutes for a table. The food was good — the day’s fish and seafood risotto were both tasty, though the portions were on the smaller side.

One of the best seafood restaurants in the area by far! Rock Lobsters are fresh! (Paired with a feta strawberry salad) That salad is fresh and delicious Prawns huge in size! Risotto is very fragrant and delicious! Well made by the chef! The red snapper (fish of the day) was so thick and flavourful (albeit abit pricey) Calamari squid rings were well seasoned and very tender to the bite! And the portions are very filling! Would highly recommend for people wanting a splurge a little on some quality seafood!

My grandfathers nickname for my late mum was Skeeta as she continually buzzed around him, so we thought it was only apt to eat here on our visit. We are so glad we did. One world.. Superb!!! The food was so beautiful in presentation and taste, the staff were brilliant. On leaving, we were told that they were 6 staff down, but as a customer, this wasn't evident. We can only highly recommend this wonderful restaurant

Great place for dinner. Dhufish wings taste really good, Pizza - the lamb with yogurt, yogurt delights the pizza nicely. Great views by sunset. I was only kinda disappointed with the food waiting time, it took nearly 50 minutes.
YuanFeng C — Google review
The dinner menu had about 5 GF options, I checked with the two waiters who served my table if it was celiac safe, both said yes. When leaving I checked with a lady who I think was the manager about GF options for the breakfast next day, she then told me no food in this restaurant is safe for celiac (very rudely may I add), it made me very upset since I had just had a very bad dish, which I thought was at least safe. I had the ceviche, which was bland and it consisted of a tiny bite of fish with bread, this dish is not supposed to have bread at all, it does not match the fish. In conclusion, bad food, bad service, rude staff and unsafe for celiacs

Visitor center
The Geraldton Visitor Centre, located on Marine Terrace next to the foreshore, is not only a convenient facility for visitors but also a remarkable piece of Geraldton's history. Housed in a historic wooden building dating back to 1878, which was the first railway station on a government line in Western Australia, the center preserves fascinating elements from its past. It serves as an excellent resource for special events and seasonal information.
Encourage you to make dropping by the Visitor center as one of your first stops in Geraldton. Perhaps you'll meet two local superstars, Melinda and Lorraine, who will guide you expertly as they did with me. Such wonderful hospitality and small town warmth. They brought substance to a nunber of destinations I was hesitant about seeing. Thanks to this awesome twosome!

A beautiful place. The beach, positivity, imagination, having respect for our place in nature, and the environment are among the issues that are discussed the most frequently. The most pleasurable and cost-effective way to have an experience that is analogous to visiting a museum or an art exhibition, as well as the one that provides the greatest satisfaction.

I honestly didn’t expect Geraldton to be this busy — in the best way possible. I was imagining a quiet coastal stop a few hours north of Perth, but what I found was a vibrant city buzzing with life, charm, and so much more than I anticipated. Tucked along the turquoise edge of the Indian Ocean, Geraldton has that easygoing seaside feel, but with all the amenities and energy of a larger town. It caught me off guard how well it balances natural beauty, history, and modern comforts. I came here for a break, and found myself swept up in everything the city has to offer. The beaches are stunning — perfect for a swim, windsurfing, or just relaxing with a coffee from one of the surprisingly good local cafés (seriously, the café scene here is thriving). One of the most moving stops for me was the HMAS Sydney II Memorial. It’s not just a beautiful monument, but a deep reminder of the history this region holds. And then there’s everything nearby: wildflower trails, the unreal Pink Lake which are just incredible. I kept discovering more and more to do — way more than I’d planned for. What struck me most, though, was the community vibe. Friendly locals, art popping up in unexpected places, good food, and a sense that this is a place people truly love. Geraldton feels like a hidden gem that’s somehow still under the radar, but buzzing with life and intention. It’s the kind of place that surprises you — and then stays with you.

I walked into the information centre and the lady behind the counter was nice and helpful and asked me did I need anything I had a look around and they had a good range of knick knacks they had a lot of information on the area I found the place to be quite nice outside they had the old 50 Cent spinning wheel that you was able to sit on and spin around I got some nice photos of it overall information centre was quite nice from mwh

Went here to get an art map of Geraldton to do the tour of the area. Lady at the infodesk helped me out inmediately. The map itself wasn't quite accurate and clear. I suggest you go down Main Terrace starting fron the visitor centre and do as many side streets as possible. Including passing through a mall area to get out in another street. Then, close the art walk loop by passing parallel to Main Terrace but along the Foreshore. Once again, take your time to spot the street art work. The thematics are mostly Environment, Respect Our Place In Nature, Beach, Positivity and Imagination. The cheepest museum/exhibition like art work admiration you can do and totally satisfying!

We asked John from The Provincial to cater for dinner at Echidna Park Sporting Clays over the long weekend. John and his team served up an awesome range of wood fire style pizzas quickly and efficiently. A very high quality product that was a highlight of the weekend. Will definitely use their services again.

As a chef, great pizza, for the most part all the ingredients are well sourced for a good tasting and authentic product. The rest of the food is delicious, when they have enough staff on to get it consistently. This is well and good, although I wouldn't recommend working there if your bottom line is to enjoy life and work sustainably, because they're bottom line is money and self gratification. Also during your "experience", really try to forget supporting sustainable and ethical practices, because it ain't here. 3 stars✌️

Great find in Geraldton! I was in Geraldton for a professional trip over the weekend. After looking at different venues and options, I wanted somewhere with good vibes and quality food. The Provincial was an excellent choice! I started with a glass of wine and decided on a bianca pizza with another glass of wine, nothing overly fancy, but made with good ingredients, attention to detail, and a solid dining experience (without being pretentious or fussy). The service was attentive and the atmosphere was really pleasant. My only regret was not having someone to share the experience with! I highly recommend this place. You can tell the owner truly understands hospitality standards and knows how to create a memorable dining experience, even with the challenges that come with the location. Enjoy!

I've visited The Foreshore Hangout Lounge twice this week during a business trip. On the first night, I enjoyed their burger and mozzarella sticks, while on the second night, I tried their chicken and avocado salad and pork sliders. The food was generally excellent, although the salad lacked moisture and excitement. The ambiance of the place is fantastic, with great service provided. Moreover, I joined in on their Thursday night quiz session which proved to be highly entertaining.

I called this establishment to see if they catered for celiac people, the person on the phone assured me that the gluten free food is prepared with caution and safe for celiac. Me and my friends drove there just to find out no food from this restaurant is indeed safe, the bartender (very rude one) was making a point to say I just had to look at the menu where it is state 'not safe for food allergies', eventho I called them, since I was welling to drive 15 minutes without being sure. In the end my friends had dinner there since they were very hungry and I had to just sit there, due to the poor service from this restaurant.

The best food service and atmosphere in Geraldton every day of the week no establishment compares and everybody currently serving food or thinking about beginning to in Geraldton need to take note as this place is the gold standard in the 6530 dp not bother going anywhere else until you treat yourself to an afternoon or night here the owners have put the work in and continue to come through with that level of care and attention and it shines through day in day out, as somebody that can cook better than most i am hesitant to go out anywhere in Gero and pay for a meal but since opening its doors foreshore has become my go too and really deserves all the praise it gets and more, Gero’s best hands down.

They say it’s hard to find good food in a smaller cities and towns in Australia, and that is absolutely true in so many places. I asked some friends from Geraldton where is a good place for dinner for a gluten free person, And their feedback was not encouraging. So when I ordered take way from this Bonny restaurant I was not expecting much….. But my was I wrong. It was a delicious yellow curry, and pad Thai to share with two people and a I was very impressed. Especially with the curry and it’s flavour, to compare with true food from the streets of Chiang Mai. As someone who used to go to Thailand every year back in the day, this meal took me back. The portion for takeaway was enough to fill me and the kind and helpful communication of the staff here was a really gift. When I next go to Geraldton I will definitely be backs

The food is not traditional Thai food. We ordered Tom Yum, red curry and Roast Duck. The meat, beef and duck is not so fresh that I can taste it from freezer. The soup is different from the traditional Thai, I am sure the spices are not selected by thai. The boss look like Asian but I don’t know why she can allow her chief to cook in this way

This is not Thai food. The ingredients are Thai but the taste is not. We tried imrpoving the taste by adding salt, pepper and chilli. But when food is not good and authentic, that doesn't help. Don't order here if you like Thai food. The last picture shows what was left after removing the chicken pieces. Mostly onion. And when we told them the food is not good, the response what - thank you for your feedback. Waste of money.

Green curry, garlic vegetable, and sweet and sour pork were nice. Though for some unknown reason we couldn’t get any steamed rice which was quite confusing and bizarre. Service was average.

My friends and I went tonight and the food is very disappointing. Iv had this place recommended by a colleague I work with at the hospital and it sounded pretty good so I took my two of my friends. I felt so embarrassed to my friends. The pad Thai was very dry and bland, the chicken satay in skewer was undercooked, the curry puffs were overbaked, milk chai was super milky. It costs $95 and I spoke to the lady at the counter honestly about the food and how disappointed I was. I’m a food enthusiast I don’t mind paying $$$ for good food but I really felt gutted with this one so I felt I needed to be honest to them. The lady at the counter spoke to the cook and all the lady told me is they apologise. No compensation. To be honest, other restaurants would have done better than that or offer not to pay at all. The food was really bad. We couldn't eat it. I wish I’ve taken photos of what we ordered and the state of it. I’m not coming back!

Started off with a very warm welcome from our server. The food was fresh and tasty to the point I ordered another starter before my dessert. I would definitely recommend the chili seafood starter This came out piping hot and was filled with squid, prawns and mussels in a lovely sauce. Will be back next time we are in Geraldton.

Pub
The Murchison Tavern, a historic establishment dating back to 1890, is known for its local seafood and produce. In addition to its offerings, the nearby Platform Markets in Geraldton feature a diverse range of multicultural flavors on weekends. For those seeking quick bites, convenient options like McDonald's, Hooks Fish and Chips, and Tanti's Restaurant are available. The pub offers a tidy dining section with an interesting tiled finish on some tables.
If your looking for a great pub with excellent food then this is the place!! Sadly I only found this place on my last night in Geraldton and let me tell you, its food was absolutely amazing! Great serving size and prices. The staff were super friendly, inviting and loved to have a laugh as we all struggled to finish our meals. The flavours were great with all our meals especially the spinach and mushroom schnitzel pasta (a must have). If I ever find myself back here ill definitely go back to try more of their menu! Lastly to the lady that served us lads, sorry we didn't get your name but your service was 10/10!

Chicken parmi was nice and big. Can’t say much about the salad… unfortunately it was mainly that mixed lettuce leaves, half of a cherry tomato and about 3 slithers of cucumber. Chips were just ordinary chips. Service was fantastic though.

The place was buzzing on Grand final day 2025. Best price tap beers in town with good rangecof pub grub on offer. Happy hour Thursday afternoon. Great views across the Muchison River from the front seating. Plenty of outside seating and dog friendly.

Absolutely beautiful meals. Friendly service by the fellas behind the bar. Comfy booth seat for my family and myself. Loved it! So glad we found this place for dinner!

Food was ok, service was disappointing they might be having a bad day and the atmosphere was good and lively.

Tidy pub with dining section. Nice layout and some of the tables have an unusual tiled finish which was different. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was good value and quite tasty plus arrived fairly quickly. Highly recommend.

We had no expectations when we went to this pub. We arrived early and gradually it filled with people wanting to eat. The menu was very comprehensive; my husband had the Nasi Goreng and asked for extra chilli and I had the crispy skinned Salmon. Both meals were nicely presented and the food was excellent. We had good service too. This pub is doing all the right things and deserves a visit.

Fine dining restaurant
RT's Restaurant and Cafe offers a unique Australian dining experience with a warm and inviting ambiance. The menu showcases local and fresh ingredients, including crocodile, octopus, kangaroo, and witchetty bugs, all complemented by Proud Mary Specialty Coffee. The restaurant provides an authentic Aussie culinary experience with its use of uniquely Australian ingredients and proteins like kangaroo and crocodile. Visitors praise the outstanding food quality and friendly service.
Beautifully prepared food, in a lovely environment with amazing staff. It doesn't take too many more words to describe our dinner last night. We had Emu and Kangaroo Tail followed by deconstructed cheesecake. Everything was perfect and we couldn't recommend both dishes highly enough.

Really amazing restaurant, original ideas, native inspired food, with native plants seasoning. We tried the sample platter, with Emu , kangaroo and crocodile. Also, individual dishes: Filet Mignon Emu and Kangaroo tail. The dishes were so different from anything I tried before. 💯 Recommended, don't miss the chance. PD: Also it's an amazing Art Gallery, were you could share a wine ;)

My partner and I came for dinner last night - I am so glad we did! First, the service was amazing, staff were so polite and accomodating - very refreshing for Gero! The food did take a little while to come out, but once it came, it was great! The presentation of the food, especially the drinks we ordered, was fantastic, and the staff seemed very knowledgeable about the items on the menu :) You could really tell that the owners and staff were trying to give you a really amazing dining experience, we will definitely be coming again! ☺️💕

2025/10 RT Tasting Plate – A Journey Through Australian Bush Flavours The RT Tasting Plate is a chef’s selection that celebrates the unique and diverse ingredients of Australian bush cuisine. This entrée offers diners an authentic taste of Australia’s native meats, fruits, and traditional flavours, beautifully combining indigenous ingredients with modern culinary techniques. The dish features roasted sandalwood nut dukkah served with wattle seed balsamic glaze and lemon myrtle Drummond’s View olive oil, accompanied by lightly toasted sourdough and even freeze-dried green ants, adding a touch of earthy crispness. For the adventurous palate, the tasting plate includes grilled marinated crocodile, grilled emu, and marinated kangaroo, each offering distinct textures and rich, gamey flavours. Complementing these are pepperberry squid, Abrolhos pickled octopus, and Drummond’s View olives, which add a balance of spice, tang, and freshness to the experience. This dish is more than a meal—it’s a cultural and sensory journey across Australia’s landscape, inviting diners to explore the richness of native ingredients and the creativity of modern Australian cuisine Nice servies, especially the front desk

Food was lovely but experience was not as good as it could have been because we booked for 8pm dinner-which we checked wasnt too late as their booking system said they closed at 830. We were reassured that 8pm was no problem and kitchen closes at 830pm.okay then , so we turned up a little before 8 (745pm)and we ordered the tasting plate to share and then two mains. Tasting plate took awhile to come out (815pm) and then before we knew it while hardly anything gone from tasting plate, the two mains were served(@819pm)

What a rare gem in Geraldton! Australian bush restaurant serving crocodile, emu and kangaroo meat. We had the tasting platter as entree, emu Mignon and crocodile Caesar salad as main, and wattleseed brownie as dessert. Really recommend the emu Mignon; not sure how the chef prep the dish but the emu meat did not have any gamey taste. Also the night won’t be complete without their house made bush tea, which is an excellent compliment to our dinner. Will definitely return when we visits Geraldton again!

Was craving hot soup in a chilling winter and their seafood chowder definitely did not disappoint! More importantly, the service staff were warm and friendly, one of the most hospitable experience we’ve had in WA. We’ve also had Catch of the day (grilled Barramundi) which was good as well. We’ve left the restaurant feeling full and happy!
Chew T — Google review
My friends and my family stumbled upon there without a reservation, drawn in by the emu and crocodile – items you rarely find elsewhere. What started as a spur-of-the-moment decision turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had. The food was absolutely exceptional. The kangaroo tail was incredibly flavorful and tender, and the emu fillet was a delightful surprise, perfectly cooked and delicious. Beyond the exotic meats, the entire meal was a testament to their culinary skill. However, what truly set this restaurant apart was the service, which exceeded all expectations. Every staff member was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our visit special. My 9-year-old daughter, Iris, was so impressed that she spontaneously asked me, "Daddy, can we give this restaurant five stars?" Coming from her, that's the highest praise imaginable! To top it all off, the art gallery on the second floor added another layer of charm to our visit. It's a fantastic touch that makes the whole experience even more unique. We left feeling completely satisfied and with fond memories. It is a must-visit for anyone looking for an extraordinary meal and outstanding service. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Cafe
Located near the ocean in a rustic tin shed overlooking Geraldton's marina, The Jaffle Shack offers a delightful dining experience. Their breakfast jaffles are filled with delicious ingredients like bacon, egg, mushroom, and pesto while their Nutty Chicken jaffle is a lunchtime favorite. Cafe Fleur, the sister venue of The Jaffle Shack, serves quality coffee and an innovative brunch menu. With ample indoor and outdoor seating and friendly staff, it's a great spot to start your day.
Terrific place by the water to enjoy lunch and a drink. I had a fabulous flat white coffee. Beautiful sea breeze with lots of seats inside or outside (in the shade or soaking up the sun). Very friendly service. I learned that a jaffle is like a toastie and may be like a grilled cheese sandwich in North America. Bonus is the friendly people sitting around who are interested in chatting. Great location to enjoy life!

Good location. Coffee was decent and the jaffle was pretty good just lacked a bit of flavour. Great view and friendly staff

What an experience. Coffee and breakfast were incredible. Pure perfection. We had the berry waffles, a mocha and a latte. My wife and I will definitely be returning. We definitely recommend.

ordered two iced matchas with almond milk. not only did we wait a ridiculous amount of time for two drinks, but the staff did not have a nice attitude either. the “matcha” was basically a cup of straight almond milk with clumped pieces of matcha powder stuck to the bottom and floating in the drink. $7 each for a cup of clumpy almond milk. super disappointed. if you are wanting an iced matcha or are looking to try it for the first time, i do not recommend ordering it here.

Whenever I am passing thru Geraldton Jaffle, Shack is a place I stop for breakfast. Love their service and their food, and I love their location by the beach.

Great little place on the Geraldton Foreshore, offers a range of drinks hot or cold. The milkshakes are so good 😋. The food is a delight to eat with a good selection of jaffle fillings or waffle toppings. Has seating under the porch area as well as a few on the grass areas

I was totally dismayed at how this establishment is run, ok you can forgive new staff for making mistakes but poor training, common sense went out the window, during my visit. If they make the orders they call it out from inside if your seemed outside forget ever getting your order as they only call your order from inside and if you are seated outside like I was you would never hear it. The food though I never tried it was two slices or bread omelette that its size looked more like prisoner of war concentration xamp rasions for $13 was insulting, Do Not Go here if you like generous serves. I complained about the wait and it was discovered that new staff did not put that I was dinning in. The only good thing was the coffee, I complained to the Manager and asked for an partial refund and the time some 40 muniyes later only after asking. The manager took the K POW ration pack folded in grease proof paper and no compensation or consol prize for my time. Poor service, poor management and poor people skills Note unless your used to paying rip off prices for bread crumbs don't go here and expect anything other than a lack of empathy and a lack of a descent serve of food for your coin.👇👇 thumbs down, I will never go back here again
Howell H — Google review
A great idea in a great spot. Tasty and fair priced, fresh ingredients and good combinations We had a variety of a ,hot dog, jaffle a sausage, caramelised onions, cheese, mustard and tomato sauce (I suggested the sausage needed to be cut up once cooked as it was hard to eat, the sausage pulled out of the jaffle) One was a ‘hot mess’ chicken, bacon (which was quite thick making it hard to chew), caramelised onion, aioli and bbq sauce, the other was a cheese burger with chilli con carne, cheese (they ran out of tomato) with American mustard. We sat outside on the foreshore in Geraldton which has been done up to be family friendly. The three young staff members did a fantastic job as they were busy. All round a great casual lunch. The reason it was four stars and not five was the sausage and bacon and the lack of tomato which are minor things really.
