Outdoor Activities
Ao Nang Beach is a bustling and popular destination in Krabi province, known for its scenic views of mountains and boats on the horizon. Once a fishing village, it now offers numerous restaurants, bars, and accommodations to suit every budget. The 1km-long stretch of soft sand is lined with colorful longtail boats and overlooked by famous limestone cliffs, making it an Instagram-worthy paradise. Visitors can enjoy activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, spa treatments, or simply relaxing in hammocks.
The beach is located across the town drive. Loved the location and the scenic beauty. Krabi is one of the most beautiful towns of Thailand.  The town is quite peaceful and the beach is the landmark. My personal advise is to stay in a hotel closer to beach and night market. You are always in the heart of all activities.

Clean stretch of beach with beautiful shells. Great for swimming. Towards the cliff is a good fishing spot. Also a lovely walk along the edge of the cliff to a small cave. The beach runs all along lots of shops.
Christel — Google review
Lovely 😍 The beach is great to walk, or sit and relax. It's clean thanks to the Trash Hero volunteers! Quite active with the little tour and fishing boats! Great views 👍
Daniel P — Google review
Well the place gets busy by the night and graceful by the morning but always has a vibe there’s always a good view of islands but sometimes due to high tide you have to skip beach days.
Mukesh V — Google review
Stunning beach with monkeys. What more could you want ?? You can walk along a go up a monkey trail to the next beach along that’s not as busy.

Super clean Beach. Minimal tourist at morning time. The road near the beach offers variety of shopping at reasonable prices. The prices are better than Ao Nang night Market. Best time to visit is before 8 am . Amazing views at the beach.
Amruta K — Google review
A pretty beach and a beachwalk in Krabi that's the place for hanging around both during daytime and nighttime. During the day, the beachwalk has many little shops that sell clothing & knick knacks, restaurants & cafes, tour agencies where you can book day trips to close islands, motorcycle rentals and basically anything. The beach is beautiful but it has sometimes a very high tide, si make sure to not sit too close to the water if you don't want all your things to get washed away. During nighttime, the street comes alive with many bars, neon lights, fire shows and a great vibe to just walk around and explore. It's also obviously the best spot to watch some amazing sunsets, if the weather allows it.

Coffee shop
Located at the end of Ao Nang Beach, The Coffee Club offers a relaxing beach scene away from the crowds. It's a great spot to unwind and enjoy fantastic coffee and fresh food. Visitors praise the attentive staff and recommend trying their delicious breakfast options. This cafe stands out for its awesome coffee selection, tasty food, and friendly service, making it a must-visit in Ao Nang.
The Coffee Club – Ao Nang is fantastic! Their Thai iced coffee was amazing, strong, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The croissants and pastries were the best I’ve had in Krabi, fresh and buttery. The food was excellent too, from the flatbreads to the bowls, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. I also loved the Very Berry Soda, so refreshing and delicious, perfect for the heat. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was modern, comfortable, and welcoming. A perfect spot for breakfast, brunch, or just a coffee break. Highly recommend!
Massiel R — Google review
Stopped at the first coffee club down the road from our hotel. We had a fruit smoothie & an ice chocolate overload. Such a hard choice as everything looked tasty. Impressed by the food menu, we came back for lunch at this cafe right by Ao Nang beach. Chicken drumsticks were top notch. My noodle Tom Yum was amazing. I also couldnt resist the coconut coffee cream. Everything was a 10/10! The staff were so friendly and kind.
Yulka V — Google review
The Coffee Club Ao Nang Nice spot for breakfast or a coffee break. Good menu with both Thai and Western options, tasty coffee, and friendly service. Prices are a bit higher than local cafés, but worth it for the comfort and reliable quality.
Ahmad ( — Google review
I only had a coffee so I cannot comment on the food. Air conditioning is a good temperature not too freezing. It’s a good location right opposite the beach just before the corner turns left to take you to the largest shops and restaurants Plenty of room inside. A few digital nomads here working with The computers
Krabi S — Google review
A very nice cafe with really good and perfectly brewed coffee. The cafe is located on the main street that runs right by Ao Nang Beach, near a McDonald's. The cafe consists of a main hall, a mezzanine, and a few tables outside, which is a great option for those who don't like strong air conditioning, especially in the evenings. The service is very friendly.

My fiance and I were greeted with respect! The place was clean and food was good! Would definitely recommend this place to stop by at! Serves good variety of drinks as well as food (both snacks and meals)

We went to have breakfast, I ordered an omelet with truffle (it was ok), there is a menu with a variety of things but there are some things that were missing but okay. I liked the place and ai would be happy to eat there again. the down side is that they a bit slow

Massage spa
Massage therapist
Nestled in a secluded corner of Ao Nang, Massage Corner is a serene spa offering a variety of treatments such as traditional Thai massages, aromatherapy, reflexology, and head, neck and shoulder therapies. The expert team strives to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for guests. Visitors can indulge in body massages, foot baths, coffee scrubs and herbal drinks. Prior to the massage session, clients are asked several questions to ensure they receive personalized service.
One of the most professional massage places I've ever visited in Thailand! You actually get here the full experience - they serve a cold towel & cold water served before you enter your treatment, and a hot towel, hot tea & some cookies at the end of it. Before entering the massage, you get to fill a form stating any medical condition & how soft/hard you'd like the massage to be. Also, they have lockers for your personal belongings, which I didn't every encounter in any other massage place, which also contributed to the professionalism in my opinion. I had a foot massage that was given in a closed room but very airy as the windows are open and you can actually hear birds tweet, basically a dream massage environment, just as you the imagine the perfect massage. My husband had a Thai massage, and both of us enjoyed the massages.
Maya I — Google review
Very homely and clean setup. Spacious environment and they have a good English speaker to serve us. The masseuse was very thorough. The dee tissue massage with oil was not painful but super relaxing. Spent 700 baht for 90 minutes. Worthwhile for the nice environment and good service. The tea they served at the end was also special. 1st time I had that.

I had an amazing experience at Massage Corner! The atmosphere was so relaxing.peaceful music, pleasant scents, and a very clean space. The staff were friendly and professional, and the massage was absolutely perfect. just the right pressure and very soothing. I left feeling completely refreshed and recharged. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly relaxing experience in a beautiful setting.

This massage salon stands out from many others in the area. It feels more professional the staff are skilled, attentive, and create a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Unlike many crowded places, this one is quiet and comfortable, allowing you to truly unwind. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quality, peaceful massage

I had a back, shoulder, head and neck message and it’s been so great! Very relaxing, quiet area and nice staff. I asked for medium pressure and at some bits it was a bit strong, but my masseuse (Sa - if I’ve got the name right) adjusted right away and it’s been brilliant! Thank you so much! Highly recommend to go to this place!
Carolin B — Google review
Lives up to the name of massage on the corner as it was round the back of some restaurants but in a lovely location nonetheless. Com and Bee were our masseuses and they were amazing and listen to our request filled out in the pre massage form. Highly recommend.
Alannah L — Google review
I had the Thai massage with coconut oil. Such an amazing experience from start to finish Pim was very thorough and would ask anytime she thought the massage was to hard. Highly recommend I’ll definitely be back.
Harri O — Google review
Aon was amazing. I came in with a right arm that I could only raise halfway up. The massage was painful but I gritted through it because I knew it was what was needed. She also massaged about 2 pints of water out of me. I had the office syndrome massage. Wish I was here for another 2 weeks to come for another. 5 star service from start to finish.

Restaurant
D&E Jungle Kitchen is a must-visit for those seeking authentic local cuisine in Ao Nang. The restaurant offers a delectable array of Thai dishes, including sweet and sour chicken, Massaman curry, and spring rolls, all crafted with the freshest ingredients by the skilled chef. Visitors rave about the genuine flavors and affordable prices at this establishment. While there are excellent vegetarian options available, vegan diners should remember to request their dishes without fish sauce.
Jungle Kitchen is a fantastic family-owned restaurant with a spacious open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. We’d walked by a few times before finally stopping in, and we’re glad we did! Rob’s Pad Thai was hot, fresh, and full of flavour. Better Half had the Yellow Curry Crab, which came with a full crab—not just bits and pieces—and it was excellent. We enjoyed it so much we returned for lunch a few days later. The Vegetable Tofu Pineapple Curry was rich and tasty, and Better Half ordered the Yellow Curry Crab again because it was just that good. The only downside was a couple smoking constantly throughout their meal, which was frustrating. Despite that, the food and service make this place well worth visiting!
Rob M — Google review
It is an amazing family owned business . The food is wonderful . We eat the pork neck fried rice , yellow curry seafood . The food is nice and they are able to adjust the spice level in the tom yum that my kids loved it . It truly the best meal that we eat in Ao nang . We even travel back from Sofitel to eat their food . Thumb up for the wonderful food and service .

Honestly, this is my favorite restaurant in Krabi. It’s not surprising at all why so many people love it. The place feels so natural and cozy, with a peaceful atmosphere and no loud noise. Every dish we ordered was truly delicious, nothing disappointed us. The prices are fair too, not expensive for the quality you get. The owners are such a lovely family, always caring and attentive. The staff are all friendly and cheerful, and the service is great. The chef really knows what she’s doing. Everything tastes homemade and full of flavor. I always come back here every time I’m in Krabi.

The best food in Krabi for sure. Pineapple curry is just amazing. We even were driving from Tubkaek beach to eat here as well as just before our flight. Visit this place to eat and thank me later! ❤️🙌

This is one of our new fave places to eat in Khao Lak. Every dish was perfect, drinks were great too. Service was impeccable. Atmosphere super chill, love the personal touch of customers on the wall. Family owned and run. Very friendly staff. Would recommend 💯 will be back for sure! Didn’t take a photo of the food cause it was gon as soon as it hit the table but as you can see we ate everything!

An amazing family run business. We tried pork neck, both had curries (green and massaman) and spicy papaya salad. All of the food was amazing and the service was excellent. The best food we've had so far in Ao Nang

Had my first meal in aonang here! The food is served real quick and delicious as well! It set my expectations for other thai food restaurants! Grilled pork sauce is so special! The complementary watermelon is also worth trying!

Outdoor Activities
Railay Beach, accessible only by boat, is a stunning peninsula known for its towering limestone cliffs and picturesque beaches. It's a popular destination for rock climbing and diving enthusiasts. The area offers a range of activities such as island hopping on longtail boats to nearby famous islands like James Bond Island and Maya Bay. Visitors can also explore the Krabi Fossilized Shellfish Cemetery, one of only three in the world, to see millions of years old fossils.
The beach is really relaxing with magnificent views. Has lots of stuff to do, do not stay there for 1 day, stay for more. There is so much to do and see. The first priority place that I'll recommend to you if you will go to Krabi. You can only get there by boat. Its a piece of land surrounded by mountains and cliffs. You will need to pay if hotel doesn't provide a free boat to your destination.
Sava — Google review
For me, it's still beautiful, but it's not like when I was a kid. I understand that it's a major tourist attraction, so there are usually a lot of tourists, but it's too much for me. Even when I'm diving underwater, I can hear the boats running. It's too noisy for me.
Betty C — Google review
Such a magnificent beach with serene vibe is Railay Beach. If you get time, stay more days and explore surroundings. You can get there by boat only. This land is surrounded by mountains and cliffs. Highly recommended to visit this place and don't miss fireshow at night time.
K T — Google review
We booked a ferry from Krabi to Railey Beach. There is a little booth near the docks that sell the tickets and tell you the hours that the ferries run. Once a wooden dragon boat is full it heads out. The boat ride was awesome. Open air and smooth. It was one of my favorite parts island hopping during our trip. When we arrived we wondered until we found a hotel that served breakfast. There was a reasonably priced buffet and we ate there. We spent a few hours at the beach, swimming and enjoying the sun. We saw the rain coming and decided to head to bar and grab a drink. Overall it was a great day, and I highly recommend.
END A — Google review
Just beautiful. We bought visited in August, low season. So many lovely bars, cafes and things to do. Beautiful beaches with lots of traditional long tail boats.
Helen V — Google review
Really gorgeous beaches, yummy food, wildlife, and almost everything you need. Cool hippie vibes by the west side. I enjoyed the place and was only there for a few hours. Would love to come back and stay on this side of Krabi for a few days.
Fernanda F — Google review
Overall okay but the boat staff didn’t allow us to wear slippers, so walking barefoot through the cave was quite uncomfortable 😅. Since it’s the holiday season, the place was also pretty crowded with tourists from all over the world. But the view? Absolutely stunning! The water was crystal blue and the sand was pure white!

Steak house
If you're craving a carnivorous feast, look no further than Carnivore Steak & Grill. This Krabi hotspot is a haven for meat lovers, offering an array of grilled steaks, pork chops, juicy burgers, and delectable lobster bisque. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option in town, the quality of their steaks and other dishes make it worth every baht.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Krabi! Carnivore Steak & Grill is the perfect place if you’re a meat lover. The steaks were cooked exactly the way I asked, juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. They also have a great variety of sides and sauces that really complete the meal. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it ideal for both a relaxed dinner or a special evening. The staff were friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations from the menu. Prices are fair for the quality you get, and the portions are generous. If you’re in Krabi and craving a proper steak with excellent service, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

First time in Thailand and visited this restaurant as a group of 10. We were all a little nervious about getting food poisoning during our visit to the country and so asked for reccomendations from staff members working at Gillhams Fishing lakes who recommended recommended this restaurant. All in all it was a good experience. All food was served hot and beautifully presented and tasted great - we were pleasantly surprised. I personally had ribeye steak and had it cooked well done (I usually have rare but again, wanted to minimalise any chances of food poisoning). Despite it being cooked well done it was still beautifully tender and fst wss rendered well. The peppercorn sauce was also one of the best ive had. If I come back to Ao Nang, I'd definitely visit this restaurant again.
Stuart D — Google review
The most unfriendly service I’ve experienced in Thailand – not a single smile and the waitress looked annoyed the entire time. The restaurant itself isn’t appealing. What might seem like a charming terrace is actually unbearably NOISY, with a loud water pump running constantly and traffic passing just meters away. No parking nearby. The meat was good but overall overpriced (same price in Europe) for the quantity and quality – side dishes were tiny and we left still hungry. Definitely wouldn’t return. There are far better steak restaurants within five minutes’ drive, offering bigger portions, better quality, a warm welcome and a much nicer setting.
Hélène W — Google review
So happy we found this place. You have a choice to sit inside or outside. Starters come with 2 small pieces of hot bread, sliced cheese & tomato and amazing tasting dips. We ordered ribeye & a tenderloin. Both cooked to perfection & served with individual salad plates and choice of side & sauce. Quality of steak very good and presentation immaculate. The owner clearly knows what he is doing. Service was efficient, well presented, but a couple of them could be a little more outgoing. All in all a fantastic meal ... thank you
Anthony T — Google review
We visited the restaurant after reading many positive reviews. The place is nicely decorated, with a pleasant atmosphere and light background music. We ordered the beef carpaccio as a starter, which was very tasty. The salads were fresh but nothing special. The mushroom soup was excellent. The steak was tender and flavorful, but the baked potato served with it was small and undercooked. The rice was quite plain. The round bread rolls were a bit dry, but when we mentioned it to the staff, they kindly replaced them with garlic bread, which was much better. We also had the “Efron Spritz” drink – it was refreshing and enjoyable. Overall, we had a good experience. Prices are on the expensive side. My son was happy with his meat dish, while I enjoyed parts of the meal but found some items less satisfying. As a nice gesture, we were served a complimentary Limoncello with the bill, which was delicious.
Vered B — Google review
I had a nice date night with my wife here. It wasn’t busy but the steak was good and the wine was great. 4,400 baht for 2

Best steak in krabi! On the pricey side but you get what you pay for and the quality of food was 100% worth it. Nice atmosphere, and very friendly, helpful staff

We had dinner and ordered the tomahawk. We had high expectations for the meat, but it had an unpleasant smell, and we couldn’t finish it. I wanted to complain, but my bf told me not to bother, so we decided to just write a review instead. The only good thing about this restaurant was the bread.

Ao Nang Boat Noodle & Thai Food ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรืออ่าวนาง is a local restaurant in Krabi known for its delicious noodle dishes, including chicken noodles and seafood options like steamed spicy prawns. The restaurant caters to both vegetarians and meat lovers, offering traditional Thai cuisine at good prices.
Great quality and prices for amazing variety of dishes! Boat noodles were delicious of course, but everything we’ve tried has been excellent! Service is also lovely, the staff are so kind and give fresh juicy watermelon with the food! Been here already 3 times in a row during our stay in Ao Nang, sure we will be back again! Highly recommend!

Second visit❤️❤️ Stayed in Thailand for two weeks, and this was the best restaurant we found. The texture of the fried dishes was absolutely amazing. The owner and staff were also very kind and welcoming. Unlike most Thai restaurants that don’t usually offer chopsticks, this place did — which was super convenient. We have quite picky tastes, but everything we tried here was delicious.

We happened to be the last customers just before closing time, yet the staff welcomed us warmly with kindness and politeness. Despite the late hour, the service was fast and attentive. We ordered fried shrimp, chicken satay, pork boat noodles, chicken Pad Thai, Kua Gai, and Thai milk tea — every dish arrived quickly, full of flavor, and carried that truly authentic Thai taste. What impressed us even more was the value — the price for such delicious, quality food was surprisingly reasonable. We were so happy with this wonderful local dining experience. Highly recommended!

This boat noodle is absolutely amazing — the best I’ve ever tried! The flavor is rich and authentic, with perfectly balanced seasoning. It is not like other with very sweet seasoning flavor. On top of that, it’s very affordable, making it a great value for such delicious food. A must-try if you’re in the area!

Ordered the boat noodle & grilled pork. Boat noodle was subpar, broth was not so flavourful, a tad sweet for my liking. Beef ball also tasted like more flour than meat. Grilled pork was very dry that we did not finish it at all. Flavour was also off. Overall, food was just meh.

Family restaurant
Swasdee Railay 65 offers a variety of dining options, including Coffee Club and Banana Leaf Thai Restaurant. The staff is known for being friendly and helpful in choosing meals. Despite some reviews mentioning slow service, many visitors didn't experience any issues with it. The restaurant's atmosphere and music create a pleasant dining experience. Guests can enjoy delicious dishes like pineapple fried rice, pad Thai, green curry spaghetti, and mango sticky rice. Additionally, the restaurant serves excellent cocktails and spring rolls.
Popped in whilst waiting to check in to hotel. Around 11am so still quiet. But staff were friendly and attentive. Ordered banana smoothie and chicken satay which were tasty and we'll presented. Free wifi too.
Duncan M — Google review
Drank pineapple juice and because we came from Koh Lanta that same day, I thought that I'm about to drink fresh pineapple juice but that was not the case. It tasted exactly like pineapple from the can and not cold at all. Th e food was something under okay. Asked for spicy, got one red piece of pepper. The egg was cold, seafood was okay I guess (no poisoning). Shrimps on sticks were tasty but then again they were just a bit warm when they came (came together with the main dish). The service was good at least.
Marin R — Google review
Located on Walking Street right across from the beach, this place has a nice look from the outside with well-done design and plenty of seating across two floors. Oddly though, it was mostly empty every time I passed by during my week’s stay. We stopped in for a couple of drinks and snacks—beer, Smirnoff Ice, mango juice (no ice), plus spring rolls and fries. Drinks were fine (hard to go wrong with bottles), but the food was very average. Worse, the mayo served with the fries had gone off. Even after pointing it out with the help of a translator, the staff didn’t seem to understand or react. That left a bit of a sour taste, literally and figuratively. On the plus side, service was quick and the ambiance is decent. But based on this experience, I’m not sure I’d return.

Very friendly staff and super helpful when asked to help chose meals. We had the pineapple fried rice and pad Thai, both were good. We actually went back for the pineapple fried rice another day. Many reviews talk about slow service but both times my husband and I went, we didn't have a problem with this. We got serve after a decent (5-10 mins) wait time - which flew by as we took in the ambience and music of the evening.

Hamburger restaurant
Burger King - Ao Nang Krabi is a well-known fast-food chain that offers grilled burgers, fries, and shakes. The restaurant is known for its delicious pizza with crackling dough on the sides, flavorful sauce, and quality cheese. While the staff may not be very friendly in the early morning, they are professional and accommodating overall. The restaurant has great air conditioning and maintains high cleanliness standards. It's located in a convenient area and serves standard yet satisfying food options like rice with chicken.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Brilliant experience at Burger King today. The food came quickly, everything was piping hot, and the quality was spot on. I particularly enjoyed the flame-grilled burger—it had that authentic taste you can’t get anywhere else. Clean tables, polite staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Couldn’t fault it."

I’ve been to BK in many countries. This one is not the best but also not the worst. Somewhere around the middle. (The worst one being a BK in east london where staff physically attacked eachother in between preparing meals for customers). Eating at BK in Thailand is nice if you’re craving for some variaty and have already been eating the local dishes for 2 weeks straight. At this particular location the food is fine. Service is ok. Ketchup is pretty good, better than at thai McD. AC is working. Cleanliness and tidyness can be improved though.

They are serving plastic in their food…moreover if you are vegetarian or vegan this should be your last option as they wrap everything in a paper named chicken so consider this your duty to find out which one is chicken and which one is veg. Worst experience with ever

It's just a standard Burger King as anywhere I guess. A bit expensive to be honest and you cannot get any app deals here. The most stupid thing is that they have a panel which has a "SAY NO TO PLASTIC" inside but they serve me the coffee in a plastic cup (or maybe paper) with a plastic lid and a plastic spoon (stick)... where is the logic?

Day 2

Southeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Railay West Beach, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Nopparat Thara Pier. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Railay West Beach

Public beach
Railay West Beach is a stunning stretch of white sand surrounded by lush jungle and towering limestone cliffs. It offers a romantic dinner cruise experience aboard Pla Luang, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Koh Poda, Koh Gai, and Ta Ming while engaging in activities like diving, snorkeling, or simply relaxing on deck with a drink.
Just a Walk alone between the two beaches is phenomenal with the limestone cliffs and caves. I would definitely visit both beaches again and highly recommend the visit

Railay is just amazing! Small and peaceful with beautiful beaches that you can walk to closed rocks during low tide. At night sunset is extremely blue and red. Hope we can visit again next year! Highly recommended

One of the most beautiful & famous beaches in Krabi area! We came here with a longtail boat that we bought the tickets for right at the pier. We paid 200 baht for a roundtrip per person and the boats leave as soon as they're full (it can sometimes take some time, really depends on the weather and time of the day). The beach is wide, beautiful and peaceful, some spots with shade and even small caves you can sit under. There aren't any shops or restaurants at the beach itself, but you can enter Railay's main road that's full of these if you'd like to buy a drink or have something to eat. We on the right side of the beach, far away from where the longtail boats park, leave & depart from and we got to see some monkeys and even a komodo lizard at the wild which was insane!!

This is a beautiful beach, I would highly recommend that you walk over to Tonsai Beach too. It’s secluded and really private there, way less people and a more Interesting landscape without the boats. See Tonsai Beach Nature trail in how to walk across it’s about 10 minutes through the bushy part between the beaches. But yeah I mean, I saw such an amazing sunset on this beach! The boats are pretty expensive to get anywhere and they’re not really open to negotiating. You can rent a kayak from this beach and paddle around to the caves and the lagoons.

Outdoor Activities
Phra Nang Cave Beach, also known as Phra Nang Beach, is a breathtaking cove that has been recognized as one of the world's most beautiful beaches. It features a picturesque sandy shoreline adorned with sea caves and towering limestone formations. The beach is famous for its sacred cave, which holds significance in local legends about enduring love. Additionally, it is a popular destination for rock climbing enthusiasts, offering training courses and thrilling experiences.
GO TO THIS BEACH. Follow google’s instructions but to get to this beach you will need to find the path between the hotels to get here at Railay Beach. Try to get there at least an hour before high tide (google the tides for when you are visiting) so it is easy to get to the beach. Remember last boat back to Krabi mainland is 5pm. There are no boats blocking your entrance into the water. The views are perfect. There is no waste water. You can see it is sand bottom when the tide goes back out - it is the beach you want to go to.

✨ Phra Nang Cave Shrine – Where the sea meets the spirit 🌊 Hidden at the edge of Railay Beach in Krabi, this sacred cave tells a story older than time. Locals believe it’s home to Phra Nang, the princess goddess who protects fishermen and grants blessings to those who visit with faith. Colorful offerings, wooden carvings, and the sound of waves create a magical calm inside the limestone cliffs. 🪷 Every corner feels alive with legends and prayers carried by the sea breeze. Here, nature and belief blend into something truly peaceful — a reminder that beauty isn’t just seen, it’s felt. 💫

Kayaked here from railay beach, in about 20mins! Beautiful and secluded, blazed a huge J under some beautifully positioned palm trees etc for some well needed shade. The water was beautiful, clear and warm and definitely worth the kayak trip to this beach! Also possible to explore both the caves at either end of this beach so well worth spending a day here if coming from Ao Nang.

It takes 40 minutes to walk from Railway beach. It is much nicer than Railway beach. Along the way, you get to see some interesting rock formations and there is a rope you can climb (need appropriate footwear, as it is muddy and slippery) but there is a nice viewpoint and a lagoon at the top. Once you arrive at the beach, you can see monkeys and some lizards. People rock climb there too which is interesting to watch

Phra Nang Cave Beach is truly a slice of paradise and one of the most breathtaking spots in Krabi. The crystal-clear turquoise waters, soft white sand, and dramatic limestone cliffs make it a picture-perfect destination. The famous cave with its unique cultural offerings adds a touch of intrigue and local tradition, making the visit not only visually stunning but also culturally enriching. The beach is best enjoyed if you stay in Railay and visit either early in the morning or during sunset. During these times, the beach is much less crowded, allowing you to fully take in its serene beauty and peaceful vibe. The sunrise paints the cliffs with a golden glow, while the sunset creates a magical, almost surreal atmosphere. The water is perfect for a swim, and the nearby cliffs make for great photo opportunities. If you’re adventurous, you can even explore the caves or enjoy some kayaking. Despite being a popular spot, the natural beauty and charm of Phra Nang remain unparalleled. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Krabi! Just avoid peak hours to experience the tranquility and charm of this incredible beach. A must-visit destination for nature lovers!

Tonsai Beach

Beach
Tonsai Beach is a haven for climbers, with numerous schools catering to beginners and offering a quick progression to higher levels. The area's limestone cliffs provide an ideal backdrop for rappelling adventures. This small paradise is popular among backpackers, featuring hippie bars, simple bungalows, and one beachfront resort. Compared to neighboring beaches like Railay and Ao Nang, Tonsai offers a quieter escape from the crowds.
Probably the most beautiful beach I've ever been on. If you walk to the far end of Railay beach (west side) there will be some rocks you can climb over which lead to a rocky jungle path that takes about 10 minutes to get through (a bit challenging). When you make it to the end, you are awarded with a much more private and beautiful beach! The cliff faces are incredible and it really is the pinnacle of tropical island views. A must see if you're in Railay!

Probably the most secluded and one of the most beautiful beaches in Krabi. Compared to Railey beach this beach has no people on it. If you walk to the far end of Railay beach (west side) there will be some rocks you can climb over which lead to a rocky jungle path that takes about 10 minutes to get through (a bit challenging). When the tide is low you can walk around the rocks to reach the beach. When you make it to the end, you are awarded with a much more private and beautiful beach! The cliff faces are incredible and it really is the pinnacle of tropical island views. A must see if you're in Railay! You can do rock climbing and relaxing. The sand on the beach is a little more rough than other beaches and that’s is why I give a 4 stars. You can also take a kayak from Ao Nang.

Tonsai Beach: A Paradise Beach in Krabi - PlacesofJumaTon Sai Beach is a secluded beach in Krabi, Thailand, known for its dramatic limestone cliffs, laid-back atmosphere, and rock climbing. It is accessible by longtail boat from Ao Nang or by a jungle path from the nearby Railay Beach. The beach attracts backpackers, rock climbers, and travelers seeking affordable accommodation, inexpensive food, and a relaxed vibe, and offers activities like rock climbing, slacklining, and kayaking.

Where Wi-Fi sleeps, and nature speaks! Tonsai isn’t for everyone and that’s exactly what makes it special. Tucked between Railay and Ao Nang, this little cove has stayed delightfully off-the-grid, quite literally. Electricity and Wi-Fi usually don’t kick in until around 6 PM, so until then, you’re gently forced (in the best way) to unplug and tune in to the ocean, the limestone cliffs, and your own heartbeat. This is a haven for climbers, hammock-lovers, and barefoot wanderers. The towering cliffs are a world-famous climbing spot, and the vibe is equal parts adrenaline and Zen. You’ll see climbers scaling the cliffs like lizards, and adorable white spectacled langurs (those wide-eyed monkeys with the cutest “who, me?” expression) peeking through the treetops. During the day, the beach is quiet, with soft sand and dramatic rock formations. It’s not the best swimming beach during low tide, but perfect for laying back with a book, sipping a coconut, or just watching the tides come and go. There are also several budget-friendly restaurants and snack shacks nestled in the jungle just off the beach—serving everything from fresh pad thai to mango sticky rice with love. Getting there: • The only way in or out is by long-tail boat. • From Ao Nang: Boats to Tonsai can be hit or miss—you might need to charter one or hop on a boat to Railay West and hike a short jungle trail (around 10–15 minutes) to Tonsai. • From Krabi Town: Take a boat to Railay, then walk over. • Heads-up: You will need to wade into the water when boarding or disembarking, so dress accordingly and keep your electronics dry! There’s no big resort, no loud bars, no 7-Eleven. Just you, the waves, the cliffs, and maybe a few sandy feet dangling from a hammock nearby. Tonsai is the kind of place that gently teaches you: “You don’t need much to be happy—just the tide, the sky, and maybe the fresh juice, a banana pancake.
Bel Z — Google review
Great beach only if the weather is good! We went in May and as the weather turned around the water was dirty and not very nice. It can be reached only via the long tail boat and on the way back it was absolutely horrific as there was wind and waves and the boat ride was extremely dangerous. Go with caution.

Underrated beach, part of me wanted to rate one star so that nobody goes, however the vendors and locals on ton sai deserve recognition for their warmth and they deserve business! The place is incredible and my visit in low season was almost completely alone.

Hafizun M — Google review
This is a very quiet beach, with little shade. It's not ideal for swimming, when the tide is low you can see the entire area is full of rocks. There is a 10 min path on the end that takes you to railay though, where you can swim. When the tide is low, you can also walk over the rocks to railay, but they looked very sharp

Princess Cave, also known as Tham Phra Nang Nok, is situated in Ao Phra Nang beach in Railay. The cave features a remarkable collection of carved wooden phallic symbols and is believed to aid fertility. Visitors can easily access the cave and beach from nearby hotels, with well-maintained infrastructure for a comfortable walk. The stunning views inside the cave are accentuated when sunlight filters through the gaps.
I was standing before the Phra Nang Cave Shrine—taking in the scenic view of the rock face, the lush greenery, and the brilliant sea—when, absolutely out of nowhere, these little fellows climbed over the cliff, landed one by one onto the beach, and scamper cautiously to the nearby trees! How incredible!

Honestly, I have no words… I’ve never seen a place like this before. Princess Cave is so unique and full of energy..something about it just stays with you. A must-visit if you're nearby, it’s not just beautiful, it’s something you feel.
Jai S — Google review
The Most “Enlightening” Cave I’ve Ever Visited – Princess Cave, Railay Let me just say this right off the bat: I’ve seen a lot of caves in my travels — stalactites, bats, underground rivers... but nothing quite prepared me for the delightful surprise that is Princess Cave in Railay, Thailand. Tucked into the side of the stunning Phra Nang Beach, this cave is dedicated to an ancient legend about a sea princess. Sounds mystical, right? Now imagine stepping inside and being greeted by... hundreds of wooden phalluses. Yes, you read that right. This isn’t just a sacred cave — it’s also a full-blown shrine to fertility, and apparently, the offering of choice is... well... creatively carved manhoods in all shapes, sizes, and colors. It's a spiritual site, but also something straight out of a surreal comedy sketch. I couldn’t help but giggle (okay, laugh out loud) as I tried to keep a straight face among these enthusiastic, ahem, "offerings." But beyond the humor, it’s genuinely fascinating — both culturally and historically. Locals and fishermen have been leaving these symbols for decades as part of a deeply rooted belief in blessings, prosperity, and protection at sea. What makes it even better is the setting: just steps from the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen, with limestone cliffs towering behind and the sea stretching endlessly ahead. You can go from sunbathing to experiencing an unforgettable cultural oddity within 60 seconds. If you're coming to Railay and want a mix of beauty, culture, and an unexpected dose of well-endowed humor, the Princess Cave is a must-see. Bring your camera, your curiosity, and your sense of humor — you’ll need all three. 10/10 – Come for the beach, stay for the... educational woodwork. 🌞🍆✨

Princess Cave and Phra Nang Beach are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. The backdrop is nothing short of magical—towering limestone cliffs frame the powdery white sand, while the water glows with shades of turquoise and gold as the sun dips below the horizon. The entire area feels secluded and serene, with dramatic rock formations and lush greenery adding to the sense of wonder. The Princess Cave itself is fascinating, filled with colorful offerings and steeped in local legend. As you explore, you’ll notice the unique shrine dedicated to the mythical sea princess, believed by locals to protect fishermen and bring good luck. The combination of natural beauty and cultural significance makes this spot truly unique. If you’re in Krabi, visiting Princess Cave and Phra Nang Beach at sunset is a must. The views are stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the scenery is some of the best you’ll find anywhere in Thailand. It’s the perfect place to relax, take photos, and soak in the beauty of nature and local culture all at once.

Nopparat Thara Pier is a bustling hub for island hopping adventures in Krabi. From here, visitors can embark on long boat tours to the stunning 7 islands, enjoying an authentic and exhilarating boat ride with occasional refreshing water showers. Snorkeling opportunities abound, and the polite staff ensures a pleasant experience. Additionally, the pier serves as a gateway to Phi-Phi Island from Ao-Nang, offering ferry services at varying prices. Pre-booking is recommended for added convenience.
This Pier has regular ferry service to surrounding island like Phi Phi island and James bond Island. It is also possible to catch a ferry to Phuket as well. We came on a cruise so this was our ferry pick up point

Pier for Long tail boats. Your tour operator will drop you by taxi here for island tours. Their staff will connect you with the right boat staff. Climbing in / out of long tail boat takes effort. You have a get in / out on small dinghy ladder. Recommend to book boat for private / group tours. Boat is very stable in choppy water or in rains. Tours may include lunch. All boats will serve fruits in afternoon.

ATTENTION!!!! Thief’s are here… With very interesting type of scam, it was on the private trip to Hong Island, we paid 600 baht of entry fee from our wallet. Then boat driver took us to many islands and attractions, in some cases our belongings was obviously with him… Because you can’t swim and snorkel with your wallet 😅. When we paid for entry in wallet left 3500 baht, also there was a receipt on 3500 baht from currency exchange because just before trip we exchanged some money. On the last point of the trip we found that in our wallet missing 1k baht, we watch our stuff very well and never put wallet on open space. When driver bring us to start point we told him that we know that he stole the money and we will call the cops or at least we wanna see manager. And you know what? Driver started to nervous and at the same time he told us that probably money fell somewhere in the boat 🌝 and you know what? Yeah money was under some wooden thing and folded in strange way… And it was obvious that they could not get there by accident. Also driver told us that most likely the wind blew money there 🌝 If we speak about the trip itself, it was not bad, maybe… Because of this situation it is hard to say, we have been in many places, in some cases it was a little bit fast but overall not bad ✌️ p.s. maybe boats need to be maintained 🙄

The Grotto @ Rayavadee (Hotel guests only) is a popular spot, especially on Tuesdays around 4 PM. It's recommended for couples looking for a romantic dinner with spectacular views. The cave-like setting above the beach adds to its charm. The menu features delicious options like fish in salt shells and Andaman Lobster, as well as exceptional appetizers and sauces.
Review as a non hotel guest: Upon arrival at the Rayavadee Resort, we were met by a friendly and accommodating member of hotel staff who walked us over to a waiting area outside, and within a minute a long buggy vehicle whisked us down the winding landscape grounds of this beautiful resort towards The Grotto. Spectacularly set within a cliff-side rockface, this wonderful sand carpeted restaurant blew us away. The ambience (piano and sax playing the classics), the lighting (warm and ambient) and thunderstorm backdrop in the distance really set the tone and scene for probably the most incredible location I've ever eaten in, publicly. The service, ambience, food, and excellent wines were all on par and at a 5 star level, and there was never any sense of being rushed or made to feel like our table was in danger of being turned in the 3hrs we were there. It was an exquisite experience and reasonably priced for such a filling and well cooked ensemble of delicious seafood, steaks, and refreshing desserts. If you are staying on the east port side of Krabi, book your table here for the evening as the sun goes down and mark my words, you'll leave feeling like you're experienced something wonderful to remember as part of your trip.

A Must-Visit for Unforgettable Ambiance! This restaurant boasts an absolutely fantastic atmosphere. If you can time your visit around sunset, you'll be treated to an even more spectacular experience. Being inside a cave, it felt refreshingly cool, and I noticed significantly fewer mosquitoes, which was a huge plus. While the prices are on the higher side, both the food and the incredible ambiance made it thoroughly satisfying. The live music played by a session band inside the cave truly enhanced the overall mood. My only minor disappointment was the service, which wasn't as friendly as I'd hoped. I didn't experience the same level of hospitality here that I encountered elsewhere at the resort. Despite that, I still highly recommend this restaurant for a unique and memorable dining experience.

Dining at The Grotto was an absolutely magical experience. Nestled inside a cave right by the beach, the atmosphere is truly one-of-a-kind—romantic, peaceful, and with a breathtaking view of the ocean and limestone cliffs. The food was nicely presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, adding to the overall experience. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout the evening. The setting, the service, and the food came together perfectly for an unforgettable meal. A must-visit if you're in Krabi. Unique and stunning dining spot.

Amazing experience, okay food. We ordered the tomahawk, the meat itself was okay but the sauces (black peppercorn & truffle aioli) make the dish for sure. Beef carpaccio was decent as well as the scallops. Both desserts were good as well.

Overpriced rubbish food! Let’s start with the positives, it’s a cute spot to be in and the staff were right enough, but do not go for food. It’s terrible! My pasta dish looked reheated and the mussels were so dry I couldn’t eat them. Probably the worst pasta dish I’ve been served. After seeing the other reviews I’d dread to think what the seafood platter would be like! Such a shame! Especially as it’s in a 5 star resort. Maybe opt for just a drink.

Krua Thara ครัวธารา is a highly recommended restaurant located conveniently near Nopparat Pier in Krabi. The food is delicious and the ambience is clean and pleasant. Visitors have enjoyed fast, quality service and even received assistance with transportation to their next destination.
Great seafood menu, excellent service. Black pepper crab and garlic prawns were delicious! Not all seafood items available on weekdays as everything is fresh not frozen.

Very delicious food. Superb service. Clean place. Faree/Suthida was our server, she’s amazing at her job. We had a great experience eating here. Both savory dishes and sweets were excellent.

Absolutely love the food here. It is underrated and highly recommended if you are looking for a less touristy seafood restaurant. *visited this restaurant again the next day before leaving Krabi. Food is delectable as before with amazing staffs.

An old and well-established restaurant with a highly skilled chef, over 22 years of experience — still as delicious as ever! Signature dishes: - Sea snails (Hois Chak Teen) and various other shellfish. - Fresh coconut water is sweet, and the flesh is soft and tender.

If you’re visiting Ao Nang, Krabi, Khrua Thara is an absolute must-visit for seafood lovers. Every dish we ordered was incredibly fresh and full of flavor — so good, in fact, that we had to come back for one more meal before leaving Krabi! The seafood here is super fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. Unlike many tourist spots, Khrua Thara doesn’t overcharge — no hidden fees or inflated prices. The atmosphere is relaxed, and after your meal, you can take a peaceful walk along the beautiful Noppharat Thara Beach, which is just nearby. Highly recommended dishes: • Steamed mixed seafood • Deep-fried fish with three-flavor sauce • Stir-fried Bai Liang (Melinjo leaves) with egg • Sour curry (Gaeng Som) • Seafood fried rice • Stir-fried sataw (stink beans) with spicy shrimp Free parking is available in the area near the restaurant. Don’t miss this spot when you’re in Ao Nang — it’s a true hidden gem! Dr.Niwech

No matter how many times we come, the food is always fresh and delicious. Great service — friendly and clean. The restroom is excellent, and since the restaurant is right by the beach, you can take a walk by the sea while waiting for your great food.!! love!!

The best local seafood restaurant in town with reasonable price. I like the Crab fried rice here. The oyster also very fresh and tasty.

One of my favourite restaurant in Krabi. Food is very tasty, fresh. But might need to wait for a bit if order steamed seafood. Recommend steamed fresh crab meat, price is a bit high but they served with good quality (1 kg cost 950 THB). Very fresh, sweet taste and yummy! Another must try is fried sator with shrimp. Staff is attentive and polite. Parking can be found in front of restaurant.

Restaurant
The Last Fisherman Bar, located at the southern end of Ao Nang Beach, offers a unique ambiance with its driftwood and bamboo furniture. During the day, guests can relax under the shade of coconut trees while enjoying their barbecue served every night. The menu includes delicious Thai food and western snacks. This beach bar provides a laid-back atmosphere for visitors to savor classic and original cocktails, smoothies, shakes, and beer while taking in great sunset views.
Sooooo tasty!! Wow wow! Best food we had around. Price are very reasonable. If you wonder should we go there, stop thinking and just go! View is amazing, flavor are traditional. Staff is very friendly. Party in my mouth!! I love Thai food!!

The last fisherman bars located on the beach. They have ample tables and chairs in the shade due to the large trees. They also have a nice little device on the table so we can either call the server ask to pay for a bill or other things. The menu is quite extensive as you can see for my photos. If you're at the beach right here which is a local spot to go to for many the local hotels I would definitely recommend eating here The food is very good. Service can be a little slow but it's worth the wait.

The cutest beach restaurant in Krabi! We came here for lunch and sat outside with the stunning sea view which was amazing. We ordered a spicy mango salad, morning glory stir fry, garlic & pepper pork and a prawn pad thai. All of the food came out very quickly, and the shrimps in the pad thai were probably the freshest ones I've got to taste so far in Thailand. The spicy mango salad was refreshing and spicy just at the right level - they can adjust the heat per request for some of the dishes, so make sure to ask if it's possible for the dishes you order. Although the menu is huge and offers a great variety, I'd recommend focusing on the thai dishes & seafood, as these are the ones that this place specializes at.

🌅 An Absolute Gem on the Beach – Perfect Ao Nang Experience! The Last Fisherman Bar is hands down one of the best places in Ao Nang! Located right on the beach, it offers an unbeatable sunset view with your feet in the sand and a cocktail in hand. The atmosphere is super relaxed, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is both tasty and reasonably priced. We came here with a big group and had a fantastic time. There’s plenty of space, and they were very accommodating. The drinks were refreshing, the Thai and Western dishes were well-prepared, and everything came out quickly. One of the highlights was the fire show in the evening – truly magical with the ocean as the backdrop. If you’re in Ao Nang, don’t miss this place. Whether for a casual lunch, sunset drinks, or a laid-back dinner by the sea – The Last Fisherman Bar delivers every time! Highly recommended! 🌴🍹✨

An absolute gem in Krabi — The Last Fisherman Bar is where the magic of the evening truly unfolds. With the golden sunset melting into the ocean, soft waves brushing against the shore, and chilled drinks in hand, it’s pure perfection. 🍹 The vibe here is unbeatable — relaxed, soulful, and full of life. Great music, friendly staff, and that perfect beachside breeze make it the best place to unwind and just talk for hours. Whether you’re watching the sunset, enjoying a cocktail, or simply soaking in the beach glow, every moment feels unforgettable.

The food there was pretty delicious. Deep fried squid is best. But service is not a delightful experience to have. Waiter neither waitress were polite. Grumpy sour face. Not answering calls. The view is 💯 You take photo here, photo is like magic

Great beach side location, wonderful thai food, we ate here a couple of times whilst we were in Krabi and food was always consistently good quality. Get there early to nab a beach side table in the evening especially to appreciate the the sunset.

Perfect spot for a peaceful meal by the sea. The view was stunning, and the ocean breeze made everything taste even better. Highly recommend during sunset!
