Kata Beach in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Kata Beach, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Kata Beach on Phuket’s west coast is known for its wide arc of soft sand, clear water, and relaxed atmosphere compared with busier Patong. The bay offers good conditions for swimming much of the year and attracts surfers during the May–October monsoon season. A compact cluster of restaurants, bars, and shops sits within walking distance of the shoreline, making it easy to spend full days by the sea. Nearby viewpoints, such as Karon Viewpoint, provide sweeping vistas over Kata and neighboring bays.
With favorites like EAT Bar & Grill Restaurant Karon, Sugar and Spice Restaurant and Inn, and Karon Beach, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Sugar and Spice Restaurant and Inn and The Tavern so you can get the best taste of Kata Beach while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

The Big Buddha, officially known as "Phraphutthamingmongkhol-akenagakhiri Buddha," stands majestically at 45 meters tall atop Nakerd Mountain in Phuket. This stunning white marble statue is not only a significant religious site but also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island, including Phuket Town and Chalong Bay. The journey to this iconic landmark is made easy with well-paved roads, despite some winding curves.
It is still closed when I am visiting it in July 2025. But the view near the Big Budha is really beautiful!!! And it is free. There is like a park for elephants. You can pay if you want to feed the elephants or ride the elephants. But it is better if you choose not to ride the elephants.
Ida S — Google review
**Visted last week, It was closed temporarily due to land slide** 🙏 A majestic 45 m white-marble statue offering stunning island views from Nakkerd Hill. 🌅 Peaceful, spiritual, and perfect for photos. It was raining and foggy, weather was Nice and it is partly uphill, so visit early or at sunset. 🛕 Dress modestly—shoulders and knees covered. Some areas may be restricted, but still worth a visit for the views and calm vibe.
Aman C — Google review
Even though The Big Buddha is currently closed, it’s still absolutely worth the visit — you can easily reach the parking area, which offers an astonishing panoramic view over the whole of Phuket, with a peaceful breeze and perfect photo spots. The road going up is also very pleasant, lined with small local businesses, cozy roadside cafés, and even a few elephant owners along the way, giving the whole trip a very authentic and charming local feel. You’ll also often find playful monkeys near the top, adding extra excitement to the experience 🐒🌿 A beautiful and memorable stop in Phuket!
Hakh82 — Google review
It is closed now a days for some work or renovation.. If you are going only to see the Budha then better don't visit.. Pls check before you go in future.. You can see view of city and beach from top.. Attaching few photos
Harsh R — Google review
The Big Buddha of Phuket is truly breathtaking. Sitting high on Nakkerd Hill and facing the ocean, the statue offers stunning panoramic views of the island and the Andaman Sea. The atmosphere is peaceful and spiritual — a perfect place for quiet reflection away from the busy beaches. The statue itself is impressive in size and beautifully crafted in white marble, shining brightly in the sunlight. A must-see landmark that captures both the beauty and serenity of Phuket.
Elena D — Google review
The temple is not accessible for the moment due to an earth slide. We drove up to site anyways where we got a look at the side of the Buddah. It has monkeys and chickens in the parking lot which were the better reason for taking pictures. On the way up to the temple is an elephant tourist attraction with baby elephants separated from their family, chained to the ground and fenced off. All elephants showed stereotypes. We didn't stop for that animal abuse of course, I'm just mentioning it as it outrages me to still see such places being visited and suppoted by ignorant tourists.
Pascale K — Google review
Rate for the scenery where you can get Phuket city view one side and ocean view the other. Pity that the way up to The Big Buddha is closed for renovation until further notice… which is unknown.
Lawan M — Google review
We couldn’t get all the way up to the Buddha because of a landslide, which was a bit of an anticlimax, but the view was nice and there were some funny monkeys messing with the visitors. Luckily, the girl with the slingshot was nearby

Karon Beach is a stunning 4-kilometer stretch of golden sand and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal destination for couples and families seeking a more tranquil experience compared to the bustling Patong Beach, just 15 minutes away. This picturesque beach offers calm swimming conditions on serene days, while adventurous souls can enjoy the thrill of larger waves when the winds pick up.
Wonderful beach!! Very clean, good vibe. A perfectly relaxing beach. Not bothered by vendors like other Phuket beaches, but they are there if you need something. There was food tents and a band when we were there which was very cool. Good prices and nice people. Had a very great time at Karon beach.
Brian S — Google review
Karon Beach is a popular destination on the west coast of Phuket, Thailand, known for its long stretch of soft, white sand and clear turquoise waters. It is the second-longest beach in the province and is popular with families and couples for its more relaxed atmosphere compared to nearby Patong Beach. The beach offers a mix of relaxation and activities like sunbathing, swimming, and various watersports.
Khaled M — Google review
Nice beach! Cool water. 1hr Massages on beach were 500baht (about $15.50) many vendors lining the shore & beach chairs available. The ocean floor is very uneven with drop offs and sand bars throughout so be careful.
Audrenae — Google review
I’ve just started exploring the local beaches, and Karon Beach is by far my favorite one in the area — especially after visiting Kata Beach, which was overcrowded and quite dirty. Karon feels completely different: the sand is firm and not slippery, which makes it perfect for running or walking along the shore. The beach is wide, flat, and peaceful in the morning, with way fewer people and noticeably less trash. There’s also a nice running path and a small park area nearby, which makes the whole experience even better. Overall, it’s a clean, calm, and enjoyable beach — highly recommended if you want to move a bit, relax, or just take in a nice morning run by the sea.
Taras — Google review
It’s a good beach, family friendly. A bit wavy, which is good if you are in the mood to fight with the nature. Renting 2 benches and an umbrella for the shadow for the whole day, costs us 200 B. Overall, we enjoyed it. The beach is very long. You can find some bars in the south, which are recommended to visit on a sunset. Also, if you stay at the south part during the night, you will have an opportunity to sea fire show
Daniel D — Google review
Karon is one of the most breathtaking beaches in Phuket, radiating serenity even in peak season. Its tranquil ambiance, unmarred by bars and numerous food stalls, renders it a haven for families with kids. Water sports on the beach further amplify its allure. And last but not least, the sunset from Karon Beach is just phenomenal.
Arpita S — Google review
I really enjoyed my time at Karon Beach. The place is clean and peaceful, perfect for spending hours by the sea. I even had the chance to ride the parasail, which was an amazing experience. The waves are beautiful and calming, and it’s a great spot to do yoga and meditation without any disturbance. Highly recommend for both relaxation and adventure

Clean water and sands. Less crowded than any beach you may wish to visit in Phuket. Few food stalls and activities. The beach is huge and the waves are beautiful.

Kata Night Market

Market
Kata Night Market is an outdoor marketplace located in the southwestern corner of Phuket, near Karon. It offers a laidback vibe with trendy bars, cozy cafes, and beachfront resorts. The market features food stands, fruits, vegetables, seafood, and a bar serving cocktails. Unlike some other night markets in Phuket, Kata Night Market has tall ceilings and more space between vendors and visitors to combat the warm climate.
Open daily from 11am, this market is a must visit if you're in Kata. The market was full of wonderful food and beverage stalls. Food was fresh and clean and I really liked that they had good Halal options. A small area designated for seating around the markets, as well as some clothing stores. You can easily bargain with them when buying clothes. Loved exploring through this area and trying a bunch of different food options!
Latte_scout — Google review
Yummy banana and Nutella roti that was crispy and generous in fillings (tho slightly on the higher side in terms of price) But overall - felt like a tourist trap having to haggle for prices of clothings. Would prefer Chillva where prices of items are clearly stated instead of having to haggle.
Ants P — Google review
We had some good foods at the Kata Night Market. Highly recommend the following vendors: Crispy Prawns, Coconut Ice Cream, Mr. Coconut Station. We had a bad experience with the Seafood Lovers. The price for the lobster was $2,000 Bahts for 1kg. We picked one, asked them to weight it. They said that they don’t weigh. They charge per lobster. The price for crabs was 4 for $500 bahts. They pick different sizes, mostly very small ones. Customers can’t pick. The cashier was the rude. Don’t waste your time at the Seafood Lovers.
Thắng L — Google review
By far the BEST night market in Phuket area! The food stalls are very clean with high standards, especially comparing to any other market in Phuket I got to visit. We tried quite a few options and everything was so delicious, while the prices were very low considering the quality of the food, so 10/10 value for money! I really recommend the gyoza stall where they not only fry them by order, but they actually fold them by hand right in front of you! Another hit was obviously the banana roti stand - warm and delicious, just melts in your mouth. Another one on the sweet side was the mango sticky rice stall, where you can choose the flavors of the rice out of 4 options - original white rice, blue butterfly pea flower rice, green pandan rice or red dragon fruit rice. Lastly, make sure to not skip the coconut ice cream stall! They carve the entire inside of coconut and add its flesh to vanilla ice cream, mix everything together and then return it to the coconut and use it as a bowl. You can then add your own toppings, unlimited! Literally there wasn't a single dish we tried and got disappointed, also when comparing to "real" Thai restaurants, which says a lot! If you're in Phuket area, make sure to visit this amazing market!!

Kata Night Market (ตลาดนัดกะตะ) A lively and fun night market with great food options and a friendly vibe. You’ll find everything from grilled seafood, mango sticky rice, fresh fruit shakes, Thai snacks, and desserts—all at reasonable prices. The portions are good, and most stalls keep everything clean and fresh. There are also stalls selling clothes, souvenirs, bags, handmade crafts, and small accessories. It’s not too big, so you can explore the entire market in 30–45 minutes without feeling rushed. The vendors are warm and not pushy, which makes the experience more enjoyable. Perfect place to grab dinner, try local dishes, and pick up small gifts. A must-visit if you’re staying in Kata or nearby!

We went there after a long day. We walked around the market. There are plenty of food stalls and kiosks. It started raining heavily when we were eating so we had to take cover under under the shades. The prices here are relatively cheap and you can find a big variety of stuff
Naim J — Google review
The food stall variety here is great. They are very clean with high standards, especially comparing to any other markets in Phuket. We tried quite a few options; steamed fish, gyoza, vegetables, noodles and mango sticky rice and everything was delicious. Prices were amazing, especially considering the quality of the food. 100% recommend.
Deeanngallagher — Google review
A must-visit for food lovers and culture seekers! The night market is bursting with energy, delicious aromas, and colorful stalls. From sizzling street food to unique local snacks, every bite was a treat. The variety of shops and vendors made it a perfect place to explore, bargain, and discover hidden gems

Club Med Phuket

Resort hotel
Nestled along the picturesque Kata Beach, Club Med Phuket is a luxurious seafront resort that offers an all-inclusive experience with a range of activities for guests of all ages. This family-friendly destination features two restaurants, a bar, an outdoor pool, and a wellness center. The resort is renowned for its pioneering role in the all-inclusive industry and continues to be a popular choice for families seeking a stress-free vacation.
My family and I had the most wonderful stay at Club Med Phuket, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for families. We stayed in the newly launched Family Oasis rooms. The Family Oasis setup was exactly what we needed — spacious, comfortable, and designed with both parents and kids in mind (spacious with a large king, two awesome twin beds and privacy curtains), overlooking the terrific new splash park zone (while not being noisy at all!). It really made our holiday feel effortless and relaxing. The resort itself offers so much variety. From the pools to the beach, fitness classes to evening shows, there’s always something to do (the adults tried Muay Thai and Padel; the kids went for trapeze, archery and water play)— or a quiet corner if you’d rather just unwind with a drink or two ! There's always light bites being served at the bar area, and great mocktail options. The Mini Club, as always, was a highlight for us. The GO team were incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely engaged with the children. Our kids loved every minute, which gave the adults the chance to enjoy some much-needed downtime/me-time. It’s rare to find a resort that balances activities, relaxation, and family-friendly amenities so well. Club Med Phuket delivered on all counts, and we left feeling recharged and already talking about when we can return to the next Club Med destination

In august we had a fantastic stay at Club Med in Phuket. We stayed in the newly opened family zone, which is a major upgrade. Even though construction work is going on in other parts of the resort, we never really noticed it. Other parts of the resort have been upgraded and you can really see that Club Med are investing in their new concept and it shows, facilities are top-notch. The new family zone is great for families on vacation, rooms are really designed with kids in mind and they will love the splash-park. The staff was absolutely amazing and did their utmost to make our stay great. I was able to talk to the chef de village on a couple of occasions and I found him very receptive of feedback on the resort as I had a few things that I felt could improve the place. (minor feedback items). The new dining area is great and also the staff was amazing. Our 5 year old son made friends with the head of F&B and he even showed up to wave us goodby at 07:00 on our departure day which was an amazing gesture and made our stay even better. On the point of the new dining area, the food was fantastic, different local cuisines and all of it was well prepared. I still think Club Med should upgrade their standard wine (they always go for the sweet Chardonay, I would love to see that they go for a good dry white wine, but that's personal preference). Our son did not have the best time at kids club, but that could have been because of a language barrier. I felt the groups maybe were a bit to big, but that is just a personal preference and maybe we are used to club med in the low season when there are less kids. On the other hand our 8 month old daughter had a great time at the petit club and we always picked her up with a smile and the staff kept us updated throughout the day. All in all, a fantastic vacation and would recommend to anyone going to Phuket.

Unforgettable Experience at Club Med Phuket: A Heartfelt Thank You to All the Amazing GOs! Club Med’s unique concept truly shines through in Phuket, offering guests the rare opportunity to form meaningful connections with the staff, known as the GOs (Gentils Organisateurs). From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a wonderful team from all corners of the world— Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan, Europe and beyond. Their warmth and hospitality made our stay unforgettable. A Big Thank You to the GOs: * Ari (Yoga Instructor) – Ari’s yoga sessions were an absolute highlight of our day His classes, which ran daily at 8 AM, were accessible to all levels, from beginners to seasoned yogis. The 3 PM intermediate sessions, especially the Vinyasa and Ashtanga styles, were perfect for those looking for a deeper challenge. Not to mention, the Aqua Yoga in the zen pool and the Sound Healing sessions were incredibly popular—definitely a must-try! performances to the stage. A special mention to Boy Boy for the incredible costumes that added to the magic of the shows! * Jamal, Chloe, Kimmy, Adib, and Golf (Trapeze Team) – These talented individuals made the trapeze performances a thrilling part of the entertainment. Led by Jeremie, the team delivered incredible shows, which quickly became one of the highlights of our stay. Whether you’re a spectator or a participant, their energy and passion are contagious! * Bimo (Archery) – Bimo’s passion for archery was evident from the moment we met him. He’s an excellent instructor who made the experience both fun and safe for everyone, regardless of skill level. * Azizul (Restaurant ) – A big thank you to Azizul for his personalised service, especially in accommodating our family’s accessibility needs. His attention to detail ensured our dining experience was always smooth and enjoyable. * Owen (Restaurant)– We were thrilled to see Owen again, having met him during our stay at Club Med Bintan. His friendly personality and exceptional service. * Aoy (Housekeeping Manager) – Aoy and her team, especially Rosie, kept our room spotless throughout our stay. They were always prompt and accommodating whenever we had a request. * Rachel (Bar Staff) – It was lovely to catch up with Rachel again, having met her in Bali at Christmas. Her friendly nature and excellent service made her a joy to interact with every time we visited the bar. * Prince (Audio-Visual) – Behind the scenes, Prince worked his magic to ensure that the resort’s audiovisual systems were top-notch. His efforts helped create seamless experiences for both entertainment and events. * Kookai, Aun, Kira, Saipan, Sophie, Chloe, Ari & Edmund (Dining Companions & Friends) – Thanks to these wonderful individuals, our meals were even more enjoyable. It was a pleasure to share meals, stories, and laughter with such a friendly and engaging group Resort Highlights: * Facilities & Amenities: The resort has recently undergone a series of upgrades, and we noticed improvements in almost every public area—new toilets, a renovated dining room, and general enhancements to the spaces. Despite a bit of refurbishment in one area, it was minimal and didn’t affect the overall experience. * Hygiene: We were very impressed with the resort’s commitment to hygiene. All employees are tested every two weeks, and there are hand sanitizers everywhere. It’s reassuring to see such dedication to guest safety. Final Thoughts: We can’t recommend Club Med Phuket enough! The amazing GOs—many of whom are university graduates choosing hospitality as a career—are the heart and soul of the resort. Their genuine enthusiasm, dedication, and warmth made all the difference, and it’s clear that they take pride in creating memorable experiences for guests.

We had a wonderful stay at Club Med Phuket and wanted to especially recognize Tata and Azizul for their amazing hospitality. Tata was so sweet and kind — she went out of her way to engage with our little boy at the water park every day, always greeting him with a big smile and genuine warmth. Her care and friendliness made his days extra fun and memorable. Azizul provided outstanding service throughout our stay. He was incredibly thoughtful and attentive — always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and going above and beyond to make things easy for us. His professionalism and kindness truly stood out. Both of them made our experience feel very personal and special. Thank you, Tata and Azizul, for making our holiday unforgettable!

We had an amazing experience at Club Med Phuket! A big thank you to Jina, the Meeting and Events Manager, for her outstanding service and warm hospitality. She took such great care of our group throughout our stay, always making sure everything went smoothly and attending to all our needs with a bright smile every day, truly making our trip memorable! Special thanks as well to Dylan, the Welcome and Service Manager, for his warm welcome and excellent hospitality. He made us feel right at home from the start and gave us a wonderful room and resort tour that helped us get familiar with everything. And of course, a heartfelt thank you to Chef Roy for conducting such a fun and engaging cooking class! We loved learning how to make Tom Yam Goong under his patient guidance, it was a delicious highlight of our trip! Thank you to the entire Club Med Phuket team for the wonderful experience, we can’t wait to come back again! 🌴✨

I had a very good and memorable first experience in Club Med. The staff was very professional and very accommodating. Special mention to Edmund, Jeffrey and Emilio who made the overall experience so much better. Edmund provided us with excellent service at the Chuda restaurant and was very detailed, he found and remembered alot of details I never expected. As for Jeffrey, after a conversation about cooking salmon, he actually prepared a trio of salmon dishes that made the whole trip extra memorable. And lastly, Emilio made our last night at Club Med Phuket extra memorable with his stories. Thanks again to all the staff for making this an extra special trip for my wife and I.

I stayed at the resort with my mother from October 14 to 17. We arrived in Phuket late in the evening, and Dori G.O. kindly welcomed us, explained the resort in detail, and guided us all the way to our room. The room was very clean and had twin beds, so we rested comfortably. One thing that could be improved was housekeeping. After spending the first night, I expected the room to be cleaned in the morning, but when we came back around 1 p.m. after activities, it hadn’t been done yet. I requested cleaning at 2 p.m., but the shower drain wasn’t working well, which caused a bit of inconvenience. The next day, I mentioned this to the reception, and Dori G.O. followed up attentively — everything was resolved smoothly after that. Aside from that, the cleanliness was excellent throughout our stay. The restaurant food was delicious and offered a wide variety of dishes — especially the fresh fruits, which we really enjoyed. Gita G.O. walked around the dining area and kindly checked in with guests, which left a very good impression. Her attentiveness and effort to make guests feel cared for were memorable. At the main bar, the staff were very friendly. My mother especially loved the non-alcoholic mojito (without syrup) and ordered it every day — she said she’d miss it once we got back home! The facilities and activities were excellent. We enjoyed so many things that time just flew by, and the evening shows were entertaining and fun to watch. Heenie G.O., always greeted us warmly whenever she saw us, and my mother really liked her kind approach. She once asked if she could join us for a meal, and thanks to that, my mother and I had a very pleasant and friendly dining time — it became one of our favorite memories from the trip. When we were leaving, everyone seemed busy, and I felt a bit sad thinking we might not get to say goodbye — but Jina G.O., was waiting for us to see us off. That thoughtful gesture truly touched me and made our departure feel warm and special. It was a short stay, but we created such wonderful memories. I’m really grateful for their kindness and hospitality. I’d like to thank Dori, Heenie, Jina, and Gita G.O.s for making our stay so enjoyable and for sharing their warmth with us.

One of the best and relaxing holidays we had in the last few years. Top notch quality of service, staff, activities and many more offerings that Clubmed offered us during our stay for 6-days during November 2025. The staff is super energetic, helpful and always smiling. The food menu they served during all 6-days never repeated. Great choice chefs and over all food menu for all types for dietary requirements. We enjoyed a lot of activities and the late night parties. Our child enjoyed the kids club a lot bringing a lot of memories back home. We would definitely like to visit again.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented — every dish was a delight. From starters to dessert, everything was prepared with such care and attention to flavor. What truly made our visit unforgettable, though, was the outstanding service. A special thank you to Phi Suth, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His warm attitude, professionalism, and genuine kindness made our evening even more enjoyable. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made sure every detail was perfect. Highly recommend this place — not just for the amazing food, but for the exceptional hospitality. Great atmosphere with good music. We got a table as soon as we got there. The food was awesome with good flavours and presentation on the plate. But there is always room for improvement to keep the restaurant's standards high and to keep attractIng customers. The restaurant is really nicely decorated and has a wide variety of food to choose from. Our waiter Mr Sut was fast and effective. Please keep it up, we will come back. Thanks you Vincent and Marielle.

The menu is large, but the food was delicious. I stuck with traditional thai food, pad see ew and pad Kra Pao. Both very enjoyable. My friend got one of their sandwiches and the bread and flavor were amazing as well. The portions are generous. Drinks were good (and strong). Everything was fair priced and our server Siam was a doll! He even gave us complimentary coconut cookies that were perfectly sweet and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and the restaurant is decorated beautifully. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is by Kata beach!

We went here many times for breakfast and lunch ! The food was sooo good, also the pizza’s. For the breakfast, Phisuth offered us special halal thaï food with rice and vegetables, macaroni and cheese, fruits and fresh water with ice because we were Muslims and we didn’t now if the buffet was halal or not. It was so generous that we couldn’t eat it all even tho we were 2. Thank you so much Phisuth, it was really nice to meet you and your food was really good ! We recommend you this restaurant at 100%. The food is good, the restaurant is clean and the personnel is kind (especially Phisut) 😁🇹🇭

Karon Viewpoint is a must-visit gem in Phuket, offering breathtaking panoramas of the Andaman Sea and the stunning beaches that line the coast. Nestled just south of Kata Noi Beach, this popular spot allows visitors to gaze upon three beautiful bays: Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon. The viewpoint is particularly enchanting at dusk when the sky transforms into vibrant hues of pink and red.
Karon Viewpoint is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Phuket’s coastline. We visited Karon Viewpoint on 1st October as part of a city sightseeing tour with our family (2 adults and 2 kids). It was one of the most scenic stops on our trip. From the top, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of Phuket’s famous beaches — Patong, Karon, and Kata — lined up beautifully along the coastline. On the opposite side, you can also spot the majestic Big Buddha sitting atop Nakkerd Hill, which makes the view even more impressive. Historically known as *Three Beaches Hill* or *Kata Viewpoint*, this spot has long been a popular stop for both locals and tourists to admire Phuket’s natural beauty. It’s an important landmark because it perfectly captures the island’s charm — the mix of green hills, turquoise waters, and golden beaches in one frame. The place is well maintained, with viewing platforms and shaded areas to relax and take photos. Our kids loved the open space and the fresh breeze at the top. Overall, Karon Viewpoint is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the best of Phuket’s landscape and enjoy a bit of peace away from the busy beaches.

The Karon Viewpoint Thai name is Kho Sam Haad, which means ‘The Hill of the Three Beaches’, and once we reached the place, just as promised, we saw three beaches. So, if this is your first trip to Phuket, you probably will stop for a few minutes at this popular and beautiful panoramic landmark to admire the view from the top of the hill. The closest and smallest one is Kata Noi Beach. A bit further, we could see the beautiful Kata Beach with its island ‘Koh Poo’, which means Crab Island, and far, we could also spot the very long beach of Karon.

Beautiful view. Plenty of spots to take photos. However, it is a bit of a tourist trap, but it’s not obnoxious. You can find some spots to sit down and just take it in without being bombarded with people trying to sell you stuff.

Breath taking sunset.....so so marvellous and beautiful. Do visit this place 30 minutes before sunset to get a good spot on the viewpoint. Overall have a lot of space to sit around and take photos too.

Karon Viewpoint, also known as Three Bays Viewpoint, is a must-visit spot in Phuket, Thailand. It offers a breathtaking panoramic view of three stunning bays: Kata Noi, Kata Yai, and Karon. The scenery is absolutely mesmerizing, with the turquoise waters meeting the golden sands and lush greenery. The viewpoint is easily accessible, making it a popular destination for tourists. You can take some fantastic photos here, especially during sunrise or sunset when the light is at its best. The viewpoint itself is well-maintained, with clear signs and information about the area. However, the natural beauty of this place is something we must protect. To preserve the beauty of Karon Viewpoint, it's crucial to practice responsible tourism. Always dispose of your trash properly in designated bins. Avoid littering and consider bringing your own reusable water bottle to reduce plastic waste. By taking these simple steps, we can all contribute to keeping this beautiful spot pristine for future generations. Welcome 🤗

Walk around 2.5 kilometres, and the road gradually inclines as you near Karon Viewpoint. Just a short distance uphill from Karon town, Karon Viewpoint is one of the must-visit spots on this side of the island. From this famous lookout, you’ll be treated to a sweeping vista of the cove with three beaches, Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon. The beautiful view makes an excellent backdrop for PHOTOS. We went there by car so didn't had to walk. Have a parking lot just in the entrance.

Karon Viewpoint is absolutely worth a stop — I highly recommend staying for a while to soak in the stunning panoramic scenery and capture some truly unique photos 😊 The trio of beaches lined up below, the vibrant colors of the sea, and the peaceful breeze make it one of the most memorable spots in Phuket, so don’t rush your visit and enjoy every moment

Came here following the good reviews, and this restaurant delivered. Super friendly staff and great value food. I wish I had found this place earlier in my stay! All the food arrived hot, which was greatly appreciated. The meals were tasty and filling. I highly recommend this place.

Found this restaurant while googling in Australia before our trip and thought we needed to try it out. Was not disappointed at all! The service is amazing, thanks for finding my nail 🤣, food exceptional and atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. Already been here twice and will defiantly be back at least once more before we leave on Wednesday.

I really like that restaurant, and its vibe, especially in the evening. The food is very fresh, tasty and well presented. They can adjust it to your taste on request. Everything I ate was delicious, especially the Pad Thai and the Steamed fish with ginger. The manager is also very attentive! Thanks again!

I stayed at the inn for one week and it was very nice. The room was comfortable and clean, the restaurant is fantastic - Thai food at affordable prices - location is great as there are restaurants, shops, cafés, a night market, Kata beach at a 15 min walking distance. Staff is friendly and very nice.Keep in mind that there's no elevator and no pool. The best in Thailand is without question, the people :)

Wow! Best food we’ve had in all of Thailand. We’ve been to Bangkok, Chiang Rai and Pattaya before this. We had the vegetarian pad Thai, vegetarian mild yellow curry, spring rolls, and drinks. PHENOMENAL. We wish we could have had only this this whole trip

We went to the restaurant and loved it. I had the massaman curry and it was great. They also bring fruit after your main which was lovely. Highly reccomend! Only bit of advice is that it's very noisy close to the road, so if you find a seat away from the road you'll be fine.

We've been here several times. Everything is quite tasty. The selection of dishes is good. But they add a 5% tip to the bill by default... It seems like a small amount, but it's unpleasant... so 2 stars for the service. The staff, however, is wonderful.

I have been coming to the tavern for the past 4-5 years. I was first introduced to the place by a friend who mentioned the quality of the Sunday roast. I havnt missed a Sunday when I’m in Phuket ever since and I come to Phuket 2-3 times a year for 3-5 weeks. The Sunday roast is that good! I also come during the week to eat as the menu is full of excellent food. Everything cooked perfectly The beers is ice cold - with ice cold glasses and the staff are so friendly the place feels like home from home to me now I guarantee you will no be dissapointed P.s if more than one person is going for a roast on a Sunday , highly recommend booking in advance as it’s a well known spot for locals etc

On The Rock Restaurant is a high-end dining option located within the Marina Phuket Resort, offering a picturesque setting by the sea. The restaurant prides itself on providing a pleasant environment, excellent service, and popular dishes that cater to both Eastern and Western palates. While it may not specialize in authentic Thai cuisine, it offers an enticing seafood menu with notable dishes such as clay pots filled with delectable seafood.
This place is a must-see in Thailand. Book for the balcony at around 6pm to catch a beautiful sunset. You’ll also notice there’s a fire show on the beach around 7-8. The food was simply spectacular, beautiful cocktails. Very easy to split the bill and pay if you’re with a group.

On the Rock Restaurant is nestled at the end of Karon Beach. It provides magnificent views of the beach and its surrounds. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and somewhat intimate after sunset. The food is absolutely delicious and they have some nice wines to pair with the various dishes on the menu. The staff are friendly, professional and very efficient. An absolute must when visiting Karon Beach.

The restaurant turned out to be such a disappointment. The place, the design, the atmosphere and the view were spectacular. The staff and service were excellent But the food was a let down. We ordered fried crab Rangoons which had an overly fishy crabby smell, I couldn’t go through it, but my husband enjoyed it. The pineapple fried rice, was tasteless & had barely any pineapple in it. The crab curry was not good either, it lacked good taste & was too messy for a restaurant of this sort. The pineapple freeze (drink) was okay, I wished it was less sweet but that’s a personal preference. Honestly not worth 1600 Baht that we paid. I wouldn’t pay more than 200 baht for the food quality.

Stunning views, great service and delicious food! We originally stopped in only for a drink as we weren't hungry and staff were super gracious about this removing our cutlery etc! The cocktails were awesome and ultimately seeing all the food come out we changed our minds again the staff were gracious and gave us placemats cutlery etc without complaint. We settled on a green curry and asked for it to be extra spicy and they delivered and delivered well! Great amount of coconut cream and not watered down like some places Shame we weren't hungry because I can't wait to go back and try more dishes! The views are simply beautiful too! We

Definitely a great place for either lunch or dinner. Pork and chicken meals with rice were super delicious. Also had some curry meals which were so flavorful. Came here twice for a dinner. Had mango smoothie as well and it was very smooth and tasty. A little bit off the main street so it's pretty nice and quiet. Prices are one of the most reasonable in the area for sure. If you have any allergies just let them know and they will gladly adjust your desired meal to your needs. Highly recommended!

The food was really good. Also considering being in Karon which is for the most part a rather busy and noisy place this restauranr is relatively quiet and offers a pretty relaxed and quiet atmosphere for being in the center of Karon. Nestled in the heart of Phuket, Chaithararam Temple, also known as Wat Chalong, is a stunning temple complex that dates back to the early 19th century. This sacred site is adorned with intricate Buddha paintings and shimmering golden statues, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens that invite tranquility. The temple holds significant historical importance for the local community, particularly due to its association with Luangpho Chaem—a revered monk known for his mastery in meditation and traditional medicine.
Wat Chalong is one of the most famous temples in Phuket and a must-visit tourist attraction. The temple complex is beautifully designed, with intricate details and traditional Thai architecture that instantly captures your attention. From the moment you enter, you can feel the cultural and spiritual significance of the place. One of the best things about Wat Chalong is how photogenic it is. The vibrant colors, detailed carvings, and grand structures make it a perfect spot for photography and videography. Whether you are capturing wide-angle shots of the temple grounds or focusing on the finer details of the statues and decorations, every corner offers a great backdrop. It’s equally beautiful during the day when the sunlight highlights the temple’s golden features, and in the evening when the atmosphere feels more serene. The temple grounds are spacious, allowing you to explore different buildings and statues at your own pace. You’ll often see visitors taking pictures, families walking around, and travelers simply soaking in the spiritual ambiance. Despite being popular, it maintains a calm and respectful environment, which adds to the overall experience. Since it’s a well-known tourist spot, it can get busy, especially during peak hours. However, the sheer beauty of the architecture and the peaceful feeling make it worth the visit. Overall, Wat Chalong is not just a spiritual landmark but also a wonderful location for photography and videography. If you’re in Phuket, this is definitely one of the top attractions you shouldn’t miss.

Beautiful and Peaceful Temple in Phuket Wat Chalong is truly one of the most beautiful and spiritually calming places in Phuket. The temple grounds are very clean and well-maintained, with stunning architecture and intricate details that reflect true Thai craftsmanship. The atmosphere is peaceful, even though it can get busy with visitors—there’s still a strong sense of serenity and respect throughout the area. The main pagoda (Chedi) is impressive and offers a wonderful view from the upper floor. Inside, you can see relics of the Buddha and many fascinating murals that tell stories from his life. It’s a great place to learn more about Thai culture and Buddhism, whether you’re a believer or simply curious. Remember to dress modestly and remove your shoes before entering the temples—it’s a sign of respect. Overall, Wat Chalong is a must-visit if you’re in Phuket. It’s not just a tourist spot but also a meaningful cultural and spiritual experience.

A Peaceful and Spiritual Gem in Phuket Wat Chalong is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained temples in Phuket. The temple complex is grand yet peaceful, with stunning architecture, colorful decorations, and intricate details that reflect Thai culture and spirituality. The main pagoda is especially impressive — it houses a relic of the Buddha and offers a lovely view from the top. Even though it’s a popular tourist spot, the atmosphere remains calm and respectful. The grounds are clean, the gardens are well-kept, and there are monks around offering blessings. It’s a great place to learn about local traditions, take beautiful photos, and spend a quiet moment away from the busy beaches. Definitely a must-visit attraction when you’re in Phuket!

We visited Wat Chalong Temple on 1st October as part of a city sightseeing tour with our family (2 adults and 2 kids). The temple was one of the highlights of our trip. The entire premises were very clean and well maintained, with beautiful architecture and peaceful surroundings. Wat Chalong is one of the most respected temples in Phuket and holds great importance in Thai culture. It’s dedicated to two highly revered monks, Luang Pho Cham and Luang Pho Chuang, who played a key role in helping local people during the 19th-century rebellion. Their images are still worshipped here, and many locals visit to seek blessings for good health and peace. There are some shops inside the temple compound where you can buy souvenirs and local handicrafts at reasonable prices. Even our kids enjoyed exploring the temple grounds and the market area. Overall, Wat Chalong offers a blend of history, spirituality, and calm—definitely worth visiting when in Phuket. No charges for visiting this awesome place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wat Chalong is a truly remarkable temple and a must-visit in Phuket. The moment you step inside, you feel a sense of peace and positive energy. Its intricate architecture, golden Buddha statues, and colorful murals beautifully reflect Thai faith and culture. The temple grounds are spacious, clean, and inviting — perfect for quiet reflection, prayer, or making merit. Locals are kind and welcoming, making the experience even more meaningful. Whether you’re returning an amulet, lighting incense, or simply admiring the artistry, Wat Chalong radiates serenity and devotion. A deeply spiritual and memorable visit.

Of all of them, Wat Chalong is the largest and perhaps the most revered temple. Located eight kilometers outside Phuket Town, the temple sits, awaiting your arrival to discover its magnificence both spiritually and architecturally. The temple is renowned for its stunning architecture, which features intricate decorations and multiple pagodas. It is dedicated to two highly revered monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who were instrumental in healing locals during a 19th-century rebellion. Wat Chalong is one of the most beautiful and important temples in Phuket. There’s convenient parking available just before the temple area, making it easy to visit. This is close to Wat Chalong Temple so you can do both in an afternoon. There were limited species of birds. Mostly hornbills, parrots, peacocks and chickens. There are a few farm animals that children can buy food to feed them for 50 baht. This is not appropriate for people with mobility issues because there’s a steep hill to get to the bird show. We skipped the bird show. The souvenir shop is similar to a charity shop in the states. They don’t carry items like mementos of the park but a mishmash of unrelated things. The bird show is part of the admission price. It would be appropriate for small children but the park could do with a serious upgrade.
Cynthia F — Google review
Absolutely not worth the money. We paid 1,500 baht and were done in 10 minutes. They charged full price for a child, and inside, the only animals were chickens, roosters, two crocodiles, an ostrich, and a few toucans—nothing remotely exotic. It was a pitiful experience. The show was loud and chaotic—blaring techno music like a nightclub, with a host shouting over it. It felt extremely stressful for the birds, who seemed to perform only for food. The cages were tiny, poorly maintained, and the smell was unbearable in places. What bothered us most was the constant upselling—pay for food, pay to feed crocodiles, pay for a photo. Even during the show, kids were asked to hold up 100 baht so a bird could "steal" it. Everything felt like a money grab. The only positives were the friendly staff and nice surroundings, but that doesn't justify the high price.

It's a beautiful place. There are many different birds, an entertaining show, and a petting zoo. You should definitely buy animal food there—it's so much fun to feed the animals. In the park, you can feed various goats, an ostrich, and different parrots—the animals come right up to you. Be sure to see the show. You can also take a photo with the big parrots for 100 baht, but we took tons of pictures while feeding the animals, which was even more fun for us. It's an unforgettable experience. Don't hesitate to spend 100 baht on food for the animals—they are wonderful.

Here’s a polished review for Phuket Bird Park (200+ words) written in a natural, human style: ⸻ Visiting Phuket Bird Park was one of the most memorable experiences during my time in Thailand. Nestled in a lush, tropical environment, the park offers a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and relaxation. From the moment you walk in, you are surrounded by the sounds of nature—colorful parrots calling out, exotic birds fluttering above, and the peaceful setting of well-maintained gardens and shaded walkways. The highlight for me was the bird show, where beautifully trained macaws, hornbills, and eagles showcased their intelligence and skills. The trainers clearly have a strong bond with the birds, and the performances were both fun and impressive, especially when the parrots solved puzzles or flew gracefully over the audience. It was an exciting experience not only for children but also for adults who appreciate the beauty and intelligence of these creatures. What I also appreciated was the opportunity to get close to the birds. You can take photos with parrots perched on your arm or shoulder, making it a truly interactive visit. The park staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure visitors were comfortable and safe around the animals. Overall, Phuket Bird Park is more than just an attraction—it is a celebration of nature and wildlife. It’s a wonderful place for families, couples, or solo travelers who want to experience something unique and unforgettable in Phuket. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to add a touch of adventure and color to their trip.

Golf course
Miniature golf course
Nestled between Karon and Kata beach on the beach road, Dino Park Mini Golf & Restaurant offers an exciting evening filled with adventure. The 18-hole golf course is adorned with prehistoric-themed obstacles, life-size dinosaur models, and a thrilling exploding volcano that captivates visitors every 30 minutes. This family-friendly attraction also features a restaurant and bar designed with the famous cartoon Flintstone theme.
We travelled an hour or so to get to the park and we went there in the evening. We all had a fantastic time in the park. The scenery was great and we all had so much fun. All the holes were interesting and there was so much to see as we went round. We loved that the dinosaurs moved and we were so surprised when the volcano exploded. We had food and drinks in the restaurant afterwards. The restaurant also had great scenery and the staff were very attentive. Pretty much hotel prices which I expected. My daughter had the chicken and fries, a huge portion of chicken that looked delicious but was quite dry. The burger was great but the fries were overcooked and burnt. The staff were great and quickly moved us inside when it started to rain. Probably wouldn’t eat there again but would stop for drinks to enjoy the ambience after the golf.

This was NOT what we expected. In a good way! This place is unreal. I grew up watching Jurassic Park and this really hit the mark. The animatronics are wild. While our little one was in awe of the dinosaurs and hitting the gold ball 200 times (we made sure he won) we adults were in awe of the logistics of how it all comes together. Worth going to, we went during the day but seems like it would be a vibe at night. You can’t take drinks in but there’s a themed bar you can go to at the end.

Dino Park Mini Golf is a great spot! The park is huge, and the moving, sound-making dinosaurs make the experience unforgettable. The mini golf course is a highlight, offering 18 unique and creative holes. It’s a perfect, secured activity for both couples and families with children. Highly recommend stopping here for a fun time.
Haitham A — Google review
The dinosaur-themed mini golf course provided a great experience. The varying difficulties presented on each hole added a good challenge. The dinosaur theme created an immersive and engaging experience; the creativity and effort put into the design were truly commendable. The overall experience was a perfect blend of fun and excitement for all ages. It was a memorable outing that I would happily revisit. The quality of the course and its execution made the experience better! Also, purchase tickets online as they are 490 THB compared to 790 THB at the entrance.
Chris H — Google review
This mini golf course was hands-down the best one we’ve ever been to! 🦖⛳ It was so much fun, and the attention to detail on the dinosaurs was incredible — they looked amazing and really brought the whole place to life. The restaurant was great too — we loved the atmosphere, the food was tasty, and it made for the perfect spot to relax after a few rounds. All around, we had a wonderful time here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and unique to do!
Brittany D — Google review
This place is perfect for kids who love dinosaurs so much. There are options for with/without golfing. They use the same route. I think mostly adults enjoyed the golfing activity. Kids only into the dinosaurs. The place is quite clean. Not stroller friendly. So better to use baby carrier/body strap. However, during my visit there, the big dinosaurs were malfunctioning especially the T-Rex. So it was less adventurous. Not as per their ads video. Overall, my kid was enjoying his dinosaurs adventure.
Nura K — Google review
Nice place with good food, but it’s hard to find halal options here. For halal choices, it’s mainly vegetarian Pad Thai or grilled seafood. The atmosphere is lovely and worth a visit if you know what to order.”
Souad Y — Google review
Very nice place to visit with child. The mini golf around the park was a great idea. We enjoyed the restaurant as well. The prices are higher than the other places but the cocktails were good.

Bar
Located at the southern end of picturesque Kata Yai Beach, Ska Bar & Kata Seafood Restaurant offers a laid-back and unpretentious atmosphere that stands out from the upscale dining options in Phuket. The restaurant's wooden design and reggae vibe perfectly complement the beach setting. With its welcoming ambiance and an impressive century-old tree as its centerpiece, Ska Bar provides a refreshing alternative to the trendy rooftop bars and beach clubs in the area.
Superb 👌 Came here for dinner in March 25 with the hubby and teenagers (on holiday from NZ). Saw this place on a YouTube video and put it on our to do list and did not disappoint! We wandered along the beach to the restaurant at dusk which I highly recommend. Restaurant was very busy but we were directed to a table and staff were friendly. Food came out quickly and was delicious 😋 not to mention great value. Awesome location right on the beach ⛱️ Would like to come again during day time. We will definitely come back when we are in Phuket same time next year. Highly recommend 🇹🇭❤️

We went a few times. Was such a chilled back atmosphere. Great spot for watching the waves and chilling. You can smoke weed if that's something you want to do. They sell it as well. It's linked to the seafood restaurant so you can also sit in the bar part and ask to order snack food from restaurant. We had a pizza and it was nice enough. But it's more the chill vibe, good service and friendly atmosphere id recommend it for.
Martin W — Google review
Ska Bar is conveniently located right by Kata Beach and has a super relaxed, beachy atmosphere. Reggae music played in the background, twinkle lights were strung up all around — it’s a really cute setup that feels effortlessly cool. We were seated straight away, didn’t have to wait long for food, and everything was surprisingly affordable — one of my dishes was just 80 baht! The food was tasty, and being a semi-outdoor space, it was perfect even though I came in a bit sandy from the beach. A great casual spot to unwind after the ocean.
Tasha — Google review
It's a amazing place. Some of the food items are very large. Huge menu to choose from. Prices are nice. Smoothie 60 baht, chang 100/140 baht. This establishment puts on a faer show every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 9pm. We recommend it, it's WOW.

🇹🇭 Ska Bar & Kata Seafood is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that fulfills all your senses. Here, you'll truly experience the beauty of nature. The restaurant is located on Kata Beach, allowing you to dine while overlooking the endless blue sea. The gentle sea breeze creates a relaxing atmosphere. Besides the beautiful sea views, you can also see the majestic mountains and the magnificent Big Buddha not far away. Eating delicious food while enjoying such a beautiful view is a happiness you'll fall in love with. The food here is also second to none. The fresh seafood menu is prepared with bold flavors that will surely satisfy Thai taste buds. If you're looking for a restaurant that's both delicious and has a beautiful view, Ska Bar & Kata Seafood is an option you shouldn't miss.😘
Oracha S — Google review
The SKA bar food was pretty decent. I thought the Papaya salad was seasoned well with a good balance of sweet and sour. Tom yum soup lacked the sour so we added more limes. They accept credit card and don't charge a surcharge. Total meal was 1320 baht. They play reggae music in the background which was a chill vibe. We saw a spectacular Sunday night fire show, there is none other like it. Athletic performers putting on a wonderful show.
Therese N — Google review
4 for dinner and we have had lunch there previously, it is over hyped. The best thing is the location, the food is ok and is the same quality as you would get in the food market. Service ok at best nothing to rave about however the atmosphere and location is good , disappointed that the fire show wasn’t on as that is what we had gone down for but when asked the staff - no not on tonight, a German couple we met was also waiting and left disappointed. All in All it’s ok but it definitely doesn’t live up to the hype

One of the coolest spots in Phuket. Super chill reggae vibe right on the beach. Great sunset views and good energy. Small bar and unique atmosphere. Worth a stop for a beer or 10 beers and the view .

Outdoor Activities
Kata Noi Beach, a hidden gem on Phuket's southwest coast, offers an idyllic escape with its stunning white sands and crystal-clear aquamarine waters. Nestled in a serene bay just south of the bustling Karon Beach, this beach is perfect for families seeking relaxation away from the party scene of Patong. The 1.5 km stretch is lined with swaying palm trees that provide shade while vendors offer refreshing drinks and local snacks right at your fingertips.
Beautiful beach ⛱️ there where no swimming signs and it was choppy but it seems quite safe if you stay close. Not too crowded and very clean! Would 100% recommend
Laura R — Google review
It is a quiet enough beach, without a lot of entertainment venues. Most often people come to this beach, stay in a hotel and try not to go far away, enjoying a quiet vacation. The beach is small in size: its length is about 700 meters. In high season there are a lot of tourists here, but compared to the previous beaches: Kata and Karon, there is a place to stay! Kata Noi beach is quite a famous vacation spot among tourists. The flora here is made up of trees of mixed species, nevertheless, the beach is open enough to spread the sun's rays. Be sure to use high UV protection creams when sunbathing here. The sand here is soft, light gray in color. The entrance to the sea is medium deep. The water is clear, blue-green color! The wind in the high season is not strong. The bulk of vacationing tourists are concentrated at the hotels adjacent to the beach. The most gorgeous beach! So quiet, calm, peaceful. Perfect view, Turquoise water, located between the rocks. Amazing!
Alice O — Google review
Kata Noi Beach (หาดกะตะน้อย) One of the most peaceful and beautiful beaches in Phuket. The water is incredibly clear with a soft turquoise shade, and the sand is clean and smooth—perfect for relaxing or taking photos. It’s much quieter than Kata Beach, which makes it ideal if you want a calm and less crowded spot. There are a few local shops and cafés nearby, but the beach itself stays very natural. Waves can get a bit strong depending on the season, so it’s great for swimming when calm and fun for light surfing when waves pick up. Clean, scenic, and super relaxing. A must-visit if you’re in Phuket!
Deeksha N — Google review
Witnessing the sunset here is truly an unforgettable experience—arguably one of the best in the world. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a breathtaking canvas of warm hues, creating a serene and almost magical atmosphere. The setting is peaceful and calming, offering the perfect moment for reflection or simply to unwind and take in the natural beauty. Whether you’re a photographer, a traveller seeking memorable views, or simply someone who appreciates nature’s wonders, this sunset is not to be missed.
Jaskarandeep R — Google review
Kata Noi Beach in Phuket is such a beautiful and relaxing place! The water is clear, the sand is soft, and it’s surrounded by lovely green hills. The waves are a bit bigger than at other beaches, which makes it even more fun to swim and play around. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy the sun, take great photos, and just have a fun, relaxing day by the sea! 🌴☀️🌊
Arash A — Google review
Quiet, big waves so can only paddle, lovely sand and a decent beach to go to
David J — Google review
The views from here were awesome and great place to relax, BUT like it's neighboring beaches, you're immediately greeted with so much rubbish. There's some parts that are less trashy than others. Even in the water, You'll be swimming with plastic bags. It's not just ropes or fishing lines, but general trash as well. I've seen toothbrushes and food packaging. There's no rinse off station and you'll have to pay to use the bathroom. Most of the beach is taken over by beach chairs that are for rent. Lifeguards are present in this location.

Seafood restaurant
Katamama Seafood is a popular and spacious restaurant located at the southern end of Kata Beach, adjacent to the Ska Bar. It is highly regarded for its well-served and delicious seafood dishes at reasonable prices. The attentive and friendly staff contribute to a great dining experience with a beautiful view of Kata Beach. The extensive menu offers a wide selection of seafood and international options, making it an ideal spot for breakfast with delightful chocolate pancakes or a satisfying American breakfast while enjoying the stunning beachfront view.
Our favourite restaurant at Kata, you can walk along on Kata beach to get there, amazing seafood, service and they make awesome passionfruit daiquiri (I think it’s off menu request🤭), pricing are very reasonable too. Stay a bit longer if you go on Tuesday or Friday night as there will be fire show at 9pm. We’ve been going there for so many times and they are always fabulous.
Nicky H — Google review
The Thai food was mediocre, honestly. The food that came out was so far from what was presented in the menu photos, which makes me think they either googled it or the cook was in a bad mood. The beef masamman curry (pictured) is so different from what I've had anywhere. We haven't tried the seafood though so that may be their redeeming factor.
Trish — Google review
This Thai restaurant deserves a higher rating. I tried both restaurants on the same corner, and I can confidently say this one has the better food. First of all, the atmosphere is amazing. You’re sitting right next to the beach, enjoying fresh seafood. The food is not, as someone critiqued, just “tourist trap.” Sure, it’s priced for tourists, but it’s authentic and full of flavor. In fact, I ate there almost every day for several days in a row. Secondly, I found the restaurant clean and the seafood fresh. In Phuket, seafood tends to cost about 3x more than poultry. The setting here is more humble compared to the other place, but I think my Asian stomach prefers the taste at Kata Mama. Plus, they’ve been in business since the 80s. My favorite dishes are the curry and the seafood stir-fry with basil and jasmine rice. So good!
Tian X — Google review
Prices were decent there but that's about it. We ordered papaya salad, some drinks, fish cakes, tom yum mama, laab moo, tempura chicken. The papaya salad was salty and although I added additional limes it didn't help , fish cakes texture wasn't good. Laab was chewy and not good. Total is 1200 baht but they charge a 5% credit card fee. I would not come back here.
Therese N — Google review
Great service and amazing view! The food is great, specially when they let you choose the seafood and the method of preparation. Four stars only because of the shrimp wrapped with bacon dish. 300Baht for six little pieces with bread, fries and tons of raw vegetables. Definitely could do better than that there. Good thing my girlfriend is a rabbit so she had it all. Overall pleasant experience
Matteo — Google review
Excellent value for money, especially compared to the other restaurants on the beach. The staff are very friendly, and they serve a large menu with an abundance of seafood as well as other Thai and western dishes. You can buy alcoholic drinks, including cocktails here. The prices for alcohol are the most reasonable out of all the restaurants on the beach front! With beautiful views of Kata Beach, this place is great!
Josh C — Google review
Our second time here after 2 years. Waiters are very nice. The cocktails are perfect and cheaper than in hotels. The steam bass with ginger was very tasty. We liked also the shrimps garlic and pepper but a little bit overcooked so a bit difficult to peel.
Béatrice D — Google review
Great food & nice view! The restaurant is located in the southern end of Kata Beach, nice views! Service was ok, the place was very busy when we arrived. We ordered a shrimp red curry and a shrimp Penang curry. Both were delicious and well served. The only downside is that people smoke in the restaurant, not nice to eat with the awful smell of cigarettes.

If you're in Karon and craving a break from Thai cuisine, EAT Bar & Grill Restaurant is the place to be. Located just a short walk from Karon Beach, this casual family-friendly eatery offers a variety of Western-style dishes including steaks, burgers, and cocktails. The menu changes regularly based on seasonality and availability of ingredients, but you can always expect delicious options for the whole family.
Great Steakhouse nestled up on a hill overlooking part of the beach/ocean. Great variety of steaks ranging from New Zealand to A5 Japanese Wagyu. We ordered a couple different types since I’ve never tried any beef from New Zealand or Australia. Very nice ambiance with no shortage of fans to cool you off. Great place for special occasions or in the mood for a nice steak!

Definitely 5 🌟. The prices are much higher than regular restaurant, but it's worth the price. The first time my husband came here alone, when he returned back to the hotel ,he strongly recommended to me : You MUST come to try the steak! You will definitely LOVE It! And the answer was YES,when we came here this time,we ordered +5 [AUS] Wagyu Ribeye -450g x 2pcs steaks, was a WAW!!! WAW!! WAW!! The Wagyu is delicious every bite. This is the best steak I’ve had in Phuket. If you are staying nearby ,I strongly recommend you to stop here, you will not regret it.

We absolutely loved the food! It was sooo tasty, we could not say no to the desert even though we were so full already. I am actually writing this review while still having the ice cream. :) We ordered the set menu for 1099B and it was just.. a burst of flavors. We will come back here again if we visit Phuket.

Thank you so much for the great service.

Coming from Australia where we are blessed with premium steak restaurants, I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the steak. Had the rib eye mbs5 and it was probably the best steak I’ve had. I certainly recommend this to steak and burger lovers.

Wow, these were seriously some of the best steaks we’ve ever had! We got the tenderloin and ribeye wagyu and both were incredible. The tenderloin was so tender and that wagyu ribeye was just amazing - you could taste the quality. Service was great and the whole vibe was perfect for a nice dinner out. If you’re looking for a good steak in Karon, this is definitely the place. We’ll be back for sure!

We found this place online and are so glad we did. Woody made the experience exceptional! The staff are so kind and attentive and the food is good too. Dine with a splendid view, this place did have a vibe of its own that made our group feel very calm and relaxed. Great menu to choose from and their cocktail list was quite amazing! The staff were very courteous we had a great time for a family dinner and were almost glued to our seats and not wanting to leave even after our dinner. Highly recommend this place if you like to spend some quiet time with your favourite people over some good food and drinks.

Had the most amazing experience coming here with my partner for our anniversary dinner. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. The food was tasty , it was absolutely incredible! The drinks were lovely! And finally the view, even during monsoon season was stunning! (we were lucky tonight as it was pouring all day) 10/10 highly recommended.

Our visit to this restaurant was truly the highlight of our trip to Thailand. It offered stunning views, some of the most delicious food we had during our stay, and exceptionally kind and welcoming staff who even helped me arrange a surprise birthday cake for my partner. A must visit spot for anyone staying near Kata Beach and worth way more than 5 stars :).

The view was very beautiful overlooking the ocean, and the service was impeccable. However, the food portions were small, served on oversized plates, and the taste wasn't particularly memorable either.🥲

Firstly the food here is absolutely delicious but you know what compliments a great food is a good conversation…. The owner of the restaurant is an ex army and his stories of his past life are so interesting and we were in awe of the owner and his wife🌸 The staff is so friendly and they made sure we were comfortable in any way possible. Me and my family being Indian expected spicy foods so they helped us with the spice sauce so we don’t end up disliking the taste. The ambience is perfect if you are looking for a nice cozy shack vibe with Mediterranean feel. Also do check out the restroom lobby, you will find some interesting posters!!!
