Taman Sari, also known as the Taman Sari Water Castle, is a historical site located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Built in the 18th century by Sultan Hamengkubuwono, it served as a royal garden and retreat for the Sultan of Yogyakarta. The complex features ornate bathing pools, pavilions, and waterways designed for relaxation and meditation.
We visited this palace which has pools and water features. There are many photo worthy spots here although the steps going from one section to another are pretty steep. We enjoyed our visit here.

I visited Taman Sari Tourist Village and found it really interesting to walk around. The old bathing pools and underground passages give you a glimpse of the history and culture of Yogyakarta. The surrounding village is also fun to explore with small shops and local people selling crafts. It is not a huge site but it is unique and worth a visit if you are already near the palace.

We visited Taman Sari Royal Garden because we were looking for a place that was open that day — it was my second to the last day in Yogyakarta, and unfortunately, the palace itself was closed. I’m glad we ended up here though, because it turned out to be a really unique and memorable experience. It wasn’t too crowded when we went — there were a mix of locals and foreigners, and the atmosphere felt calm and pleasant. The sun was very hot outside, but once you go inside the chambers and passageways of the garden, it becomes surprisingly cool. Each section feels like a hidden corner full of history and charm. What stood out to me most were the many small pathways and exits all around the garden. There seems to be only one main entrance, but several exits lead into nearby residential areas or small alleys that connect to local streets. It really gives you a sense of how this place once functioned as a living, breathing royal space — private, mysterious, and full of life. Even though the structures are old, you can still imagine how stunning it must have been at its peak — with the pools, gardens, and chambers in their full glory. It’s one of those places that lets you step back in time and feel part of Yogyakarta’s royal history. A truly cool and fascinating place to explore — peaceful, historical, and worth the visit.
Joneaj B — Google review
I have no regrets about visiting this historical site, even with the crazy heat in Jogja that day. It definitely still needs ongoing maintenance and preservation. Taman Sari was the Sultan's / King’s former water castle/bathhouse, I can only imagine how grand and cool this place was back then. Entrance is 25K.
Miranti V — Google review
Taman Sari (often called the Water Castle) is one of Yogyakarta's most popular and historically fascinating tourist destinations. Taman Sari Water Castle: Taman Sari, which means "fragrant garden," is a beautiful and unique former royal garden and leisure complex of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta, built in the 18th century. It is known for unique architecture, photo opportunities, and historical atmosphere. The Vibe & Highlights Architectural Beauty:The complex is a striking blend of Javanese, Islamic, and European architectural styles. The most stunning and well-preserved section is the central bathing complex. The Royal Pools (Umbul Binangun): This is the main attraction. It features three dazzling blue pools—one for the Princesses, one for the Queens, and a secluded one for the Sultan. A watchtower sits between the pools, from which the Sultan reportedly chose a consort as they bathed below. The Underground Mosque (Sumur Gumuling): This unique, circular two-story mosque is hidden underground and accessed via an Escher-esque set of stairways. Its design creates unique acoustics that allow the imam's voice to be heard clearly without a microphone. This is a favorite spot for photos. The Kampung Taman Village: The complex is nested within a charming, traditional Javanese residential neighborhood (Kampung Taman). Exploring the narrow alleyways offers a glimpse into local life, including small shops selling traditional arts like batik. Location :Located just a short distance (approx. 2 km) south of the Kraton (Sultan's Palace). Opening Hours :Generally open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. Entrance Fee (Foreigners) Approximately IDR 25,000 (Indonesian Rupiah). Estimated Visit: Time 30 minutes to 1 hour, plus time to explore the surrounding village. Getting There: Easily reached via becak (pedicab), andong (horse cart), or ride-hailing services (e.g., Grab). Best Tips for Your Visit 1. Hire a Guide (with caution): Local guides are available and highly recommended, as they can provide fascinating historical context and mystical stories that bring the ruins to life. However, a common traveler tip is to be aware that some guides may be insistent about taking you to a family batik or craft shop afterward. 2. Explore the Tunnels:Don't just stay in the main pool area. Ask locals or your guide to point you toward the entrance to the underground tunnels and the Gumuling Well. 3. Dress Modestly:As a cultural and former royal site, dressing respectfully (avoiding overly short or revealing clothes) is appreciated. 4. Combine with the Kraton:Taman Sari makes a perfect half-day excursion when combined with a visit to the nearby Kraton (Sultan's Palace).

I visited Taman Sari today and the place itself is truly magnificent, beautiful architecture with a long, fascinating history behind it. Unfortunately, my experience with the local guide was disappointing. He charged me 90k IDR (and I gave him 100k instead ) for a tour that felt incomplete. Instead of exploring all areas, he only took me around the outside, rushed through everything (finished the tour in 30 minutes), and explained so quickly that I couldn’t really understand much. Sadly, it made my first visit here feel less enjoyable than I expected.
Grace L — Google review
A historical place with guides for hire. They don't charge an amount of fee, you get to determine it. Along the tour, I couldn't help but imagine how things were back in those days. We even went to the ruins of the castle hidden among the villagers' houses.
Kalista S — Google review
Taman Sari, nestled in a charming neighborhood, offers a fascinating look into Yogyakarta's royal past. This "Water Castle" complex, though undeniably small-scale and showing minimal recent maintenance, possesses a unique appeal. The entrance fee is low, making it an accessible historical site. A delightful aspect is the freedom to climb atop some of the remaining gate structures, providing interesting views. Guides are present, but be prepared: ours, while informative and willing to take photos, was quite insistent on leading us to his shop afterward. We ultimately "escaped" through the gates, which made for a memorable, if slightly comical, end to our visit! Despite its modest size and condition, Taman Sari's unique charm and the freedom to explore make it a worthwhile stop for those seeking a less polished, more adventurous historical experience.

Ramayana Ballet Purawisata

The Ramayana Ballet Purawisata is a captivating traditional dance performance that portrays the ancient Valmiki Epic of Ramayana. This highly stylized and intricate dance form, performed with music and drama, showcases Javanese and Balinese traditions. Visitors can enjoy this mesmerizing show along with a delightful dinner featuring local cuisine. The ballet is presented at various venues, including indoor theaters and open-air settings like the Trimurti Theater.
Ramayana show is one of a must show to see when you’re visiting Jogjakarta. It’s in the middle of the city and the venue is a semi open air space. You could choose a package with buffet dinner or just a show. We opted out buffet since we already had dinner way before the show. However, their dinner looks decent and good. Before the show started, we were given out a drink as well as the story of the show. So we could understand how the story goes when show starts, which was very thoughtful gesture in my opinion. Since we read the story beforehand, we could understand most of the characters that were showing up at the show. All the characters were shown beautifully and their dances are amazing. We got to see a bit of fire show as well during the battle numbers. We were glad we decided to watch this show as part of our holiday! 🫶
Ayeshia F — Google review
An absolutely outstanding Ramayana performance. I was completely mesmerized by their creative fire performance, which was totally unexpected and breathtaking. So many elements of the show were surprisingly beautiful and unforgettable. Sadly, there were not many Indonesians in the audience to witness this cultural masterpiece. I 100% recommend experiencing this in person. I'm proud to be Indonesian and grateful for the chance to witness such incredible artistry live.
Dwi F — Google review
Being from India, this was a visual treat to watch Ramayana story Being told in Javanese style. If you are visiting Jogja do not miss it. You can also watch similar show in Prambanan temple bit this is inside the city. For center seats you may want to book early especially in peak season
Rengesh K — Google review
Great show, but the start was a little slow. There’s an exciting climax to the story, and it’s a little more fast paced after that. You definitely have to read the written explanation of the story that they provide to understand it. They offer welcome drinks for the show which is nice. We didn’t take the buffet. The theatre is outdoors and can get quite hot and smokey due to the pyrotechnics. Not suitable for asthmatics.
Nicole W — Google review
Very interesting and cool performance. I enjoyed watching the traditional dance storytelling - I would recommend. Staff were very kind too. There is a cafe/restaurant on the site but our tickets included a small mineral water which is thoughtful.
Mai-Leen N — Google review
I’ve been wanting to watch the Ramayana Ballet for ages. But since the Prambanan tickets were already sold out, ended up getting the ones at Purawisata instead. Ticket prices are different for locals and international visitors. Unfortunately, the middle seats were allocated for foreign tourists. If you’re interested, there’s also a buffet package so you can come earlier for dinner. Tbh, we arrived late, but thanks to the guide who sped up the registration process, we didn’t have to exchange tickets and could head straight into the venue. As for the Ramayana story, it’s pretty familiar if you’re Javanese, but still entertaining. It would’ve been more informative if there were bilingual narrations on one side of the stage, so people unfamiliar with the story could follow along. Overall, I’d definitely come back again for another story ✨

absolutely best experience!! If u visiting jogja, u need to come here and watch the theatre of Ramayana Ballet😍 u can buy some ethnic handmade merchandise too 🥰🩷
Amelia C — Google review
The dance performances presented have the potential to be developed into interesting attractions, especially for foreign tourists. I think some improvements are still needed to the performance format so that it can be understood more easily. The fire attraction seems to be the one that generates the most applause and appreciation from the audience.

We visited this bustling street in the evening and it was pretty crowded. There are many shops selling batik, apparel, food and souvenirs. There were many horse carriages for rent as well as trishaws. We found that there were more food options at the mall. The road is closed to motorised vehicles in the evening and open to pedestrians only. A must visit place in Yogyakarta especially in the evening.

Beautiful street with a lot of local tourists. Good for shopping! But PLEASE BE AWARE OF SCAMMERS if you’re a foreigner. Some guys from the streets telling you it’s your lucky day because TODAY IS THE LAST DAY of the exhibition. It was all tourists inside! They had a piece of canvas with some old-looking art and kept explaining ‘how it’s done.’ Then they offered free coffee and tea, repeating ‘hospitality, hospitality!’ We left straight away, don’t want to know what happens next. Shadow Puppet Show Wayang Kulit

Puppet theater
Movie theater
The Shadow Puppet Show Wayang Kulit is a traditional Indonesian art form that captivates audiences with its intricate puppets and live gamelan music. The show typically runs from 8 to 10 pm, attracting both local and foreign tourists. Audience members can choose between watching the performance from the shadow side, where they can see detailed puppetry, or the live side, where they can enjoy colorful puppet displays and live gamelan music.
We didn’t see the shadow show but visited the free demonstration hut behind a few times watching the craftsman create the intricate wayang. He is always accompanied by a fluent English speaking companion that will explain the craft in English. We’d also visited the gift shop behind and bought a few reasonably priced items. Really nice guys to talk to and so very helpful with advice on places to go around the area :) 🙏
Daezjn — Google review
It was a culture experience too bad the theatre doesn't have a way to have it translated to other languages. The price was very reasonable, unreserved seats in balcony was terrific.
Gayle J — Google review
You can’t find any show dates on the internet apart from their instagram account. Really disappointing when you travel half the world and don’t know when to show up for the spectacle. Build up a proper website - we have year 2025.
Moritz H — Google review
You can watch it on the shadow side or live side. In live side, you can see the gamelan (javaneese music) group who play the backsong in live music and watch the puppet in different colors. But in shadow, you will see the details of puppet and more intimate to enjoy the show. You get wedang uwuh (traditional drink) there for free and snacks too. When you pay the ticket, you will get a brosur about story that will be shown. Don't worry, this brosur is available in 3 language so it can help you to know the characters and story.
Nauvel — Google review
Would be much better with subtitles on a screen so not only Javanese people could understand. Or a brochure with a synposis? Could have been really interesting if I know the Ramayana as well that dont need any explanation but since is not the case sometimes I almost fell asleep. (Other foreigners too btw)

Nice experience, even though the story was told in Indonesian, which made it quite difficult to follow for an hour and a half. The event takes place only on Saturday nights at 8 PM, but to get good seats, you should arrive by 7 PM. A ticket for foreigners costs 50,000 IDR. The show is held in a beautiful pagoda. The puppet master tells the story, accompanied by musicians playing various traditional instruments.

I’m kind of embarrassed to have to agree with the prior reviewer. Like basically all touristically interesting places in Yogya, as a tourist you basically have to go there and then it’s a lottery whether it’s open, or whether there’s a show, or whatever. Honestly I can’t recommend this experience to foreign visitors.

Embark on the Jogja Cycling Tour to explore Yogyakarta and its surrounding villages in a peaceful and less crowded manner. You can choose to ride independently or with an English-speaking guide, making stops at village community centers, local temples, and traditional restaurants along the way. The tour covers nearly 60km but is not rushed, allowing for plenty of photo opportunities and breaks for included drinks and meals.
We had a fabulous day with Denny and Omar. We opted for the long journey to spend as much time in the country side as possible. The tour is not rushed even though we covered nearly 60km. Cycling experience is required but you don't need to be a pro to undertake this tour. Plenty of stops yo take pictures, have a drink (included) and a couple of meals (included) The farmers along the way always have time for a smile and won't shy away to strike a pose for a photo. My advice; get on a bike and see some real Indonesia.

We drank special jamu assem juice and visited an authentic batikshop, without any obligation to buy. Friendly guides responded to all our questions and gave us the inside information, for example about the kraton and a rare tree. Thank you for the wunderful experience guys and good luck! An okay loenpia. What is unique is the garlic sauce. But the filling is pretty much same like other premium loenpia. The price is 8k per piece. You can eat at the place so the auntie can give you proper packaging. Glad to have tried this one.

We visited Lumpia Samijaya street food cart at Malioboro street after reading a lot of positive reviews about it. We queued about 40 minutes to get our spring rolls. We ordered the Chicken spring roll and Chicken+quail egg spring roll. Once you place your order, the seller will wrote your name and the spring rolls will be served or packed according to your queue sequence. Nobody can jump the queue. For the taste, it’s really below our expectations. Although it’s fried on the spot and you can eat it while it’s still hot, the taste is rather bland and do not really bring our excitement to eat it. The condiment is just julienne garlic and green chili.

It was tasty, crispy outside and fresh inside. It was only made when you order. There are two menu here; Chicken spring roll (lumpia ayam) Rp.4500 & Special spring roll with chicken & quail egg Rp.5000, However, the minus things was you need to queue for quite long time because there was so many people ordered. I was ordered 1 chicken & 1 special spring roll and queue for almost 30 minutes. But overall, I like the taste of both spring roll.

Highly recommended street food at Malioboro area (They have another branch at Jalan Mataram anyway.. About 10 minutes from the main one at Malioboro). With 5k for chicken lumpia and 6k for special lumpia (enrich with bean sprout, chicken and quail egg) you can enjoy this yummy and crunchy snack. Still, u have to be patient due to the queue especially at the week end. People like to take away order usually in a bulk, so i suggest u to buy 1-2 pieces for eat on the spot, they usually serves u first. Need minimum 30 minutes queue at the weekend... But it not so crowded at the weekdays.

If you're looking to beat the heat in Yogyakarta, Rujak Es Cream Pak Nardi Pakualaman is a delightful stop. Nestled on Jalan Harjowinatan, this charming spot has been serving up its unique take on rujak since 1978. The dish features a refreshing mix of fruits like jicama, papaya, and mango, all finely shredded and topped with a scoop of pink ice cream.
Incredible! Amazing ice cream and spicy salt rujak combination. The Rujak was not spicy and so best with added sambal. Very friendly and reasonable price. Parking space outside.
Stuart W — Google review
Very interesting combination of spicy, mildly sour Indonesian rujak with sweet ice cream. As a foreigner I certainly wasn’t used to this pairing and left the rujak largely untouched. Worth a try though!
Darren — Google review
At first, I think the taste is quite odd. But somehow after my 3rd bite, i feel that this was a good combination. The taste that I havent tried before. The taste that odd but surprisingly good. The price is cheap. Just 10k you can get a portion of the rujak es krim. Place quite small and dirty tho
Kenny K — Google review
I still can’t believe this two can be mixed and compliments each other. Rujak is shredded fruit soaked in spicy brown sugar and tamarind sauce, sometimes they add peanut on it, and ice cream well… it’s obvious, but theirs are less creamy nor sweet. When they mix this two together… you can taste sweet, sour, spicy, savory and refreshing all at the same time in a quite balanced way. And this joint have done that since 1978
Budi H — Google review
Rujak mixed with ice cream! 🍧🍉 You probably won’t find anything like this anywhere else in Indonesia. The combination sounds unusual but tastes surprisingly good, especially if you add a bit of sambal! Definitely worth a try. Located right by the roadside, easy to find.
Natalie V — Google review
The rujak tastes fresh, tangy, sweet, and sour all mixed together. The flavor of the palm sugar is quite dominant, but the other ingredients are still noticeable. There are many ingredients used, so I'm not sure of all of them, but I did notice they use pakel mango. As for the ice cream, I really like it; it's the type of old-fashioned ice cream we had back in school, also known as es puter. It tastes like coco pandan with a dominant savory flavor from the coconut milk. The portion is quite large, so I recommend buying one to share.
Safii A — Google review
Serves rujak (traditional fruit salad) with ice cream. Perfect for a hot day, very refreshing. The place is quite narrow.
Nolianto A — Google review
It surprised me! I was never thought to try this kind of culinary. But when I finally tried, its like Boom! I love the mix of sour, spicy, and sweet and cold sensation from the ice cream. It is perfect. The ice cream such a smooth texture, the sweetness also good not over. This legend culinary literally break my negative perspective. Will be back again for sure!

Noodle shop
Diner
Yammie Pathuk Kemetiran Kidul Yogyakarta is a legendary noodle stall in Jogja known for its humble yet delicious chicken noodles. The savory-based seasoning and classic flavors make it a local favorite, especially when paired with wonton soup, meatballs, crispy wonton, and fried chicken balls. The cozy stall offers a heartwarming midweek meal with Chinese influences that stand out amidst the city's rich dishes.
The noodles were on the softer side but with great chicken oil aroma & flavours. Loved the combo of minced and sliced chicken (marinated + steamed)—simple yet flavourful. The clear soup looks plain but packs a nice chicken broth you’ll want to slurp. Chilli’s watery and mild at first but builds up nicely over time. The fried pangsit were made fresh to order—crisp, fragrant skin (like a thicker Bakmi GM style) with sweet, tasty filling. Five pieces per serve, and so good we ordered them three times. The baso goreng was also a surprise win—light, no tough skin, fried fresh each time. We had five to try, five more, and five to go. If you love noodles, this Yammie’s a must.
Ferdi — Google review
It is old fashioned noodle shop. Delicious Chinese style halal noodles. Their specialty is wontons chicken noodle. You may ask for fried wontons also. Affordable prices but not much choices. The portion comes in regular and jumbo.
Setyawan M — Google review
If you're looking for a cozy and satisfying meal, Yammie Pathuk in Kemetiran is a must-visit. With its easy access and strategic location, it’s a great choice for students, workers, or anyone craving a warm bowl of noodles. The place itself is clean and inviting, giving off a homey atmosphere that makes you feel instantly comfortable. It’s the kind of spot where you could eat alone or with friends and still feel at ease. The service is fast, the staff are well-trained and attentive, making the experience smooth from start to finish. Now, let’s talk about the highlight the food. The noodles are flavorful, perfectly cooked, and served with generous toppings. Whether you go for the classic yammie or something with extra meatballs or dumplings, the taste is consistently delicious and comforting. Even better, the prices are student-friendly, making it accessible without sacrificing quality. One small downside is the limited parking space, which can be a challenge during peak hours. But if you’re willing to walk a bit or come by motorbike, it’s absolutely worth it. Yammie Pathuk serves delicious, comforting noodle dishes at affordable prices. The taste, portion, and consistency make it a standout spot for anyone who appreciates good, hearty food.
Velovexcya C — Google review
I wish I could say that this is the best noodle place in Yogyakarta but my samples are simply too few. Many of my friends recommended it tho and boy are they right. You don't need to add additional sauce or sambal, the broth is already top notch. Definitely a must place to visit when you're in Malioboro 👍
Ramy D — Google review
Still the best yamiie! Just look at the noodle! Mouth watering! Aha the texture just beyond perfect! Love it! Tender! I can eat the noodles itself even satisfying with the condiments! Guess the price! Students pockets friendly! The place is indeed so humble! Give it a shot!
Wulan R — Google review
this is the OG classic yammie go-to place in Jogja. They also sell in Pasar Pathuk, hence the name Yamie Pathuk. Rather than eating there, this place setup in front of their own home, is more comfortable. I would recommend to get their pangsit goreng and baso goreng on top of their yammie.
Eka L — Google review
We went there for dinner. It was packed with people, and we managed to get a shared table with other patrons. The ordering was somehow slow. We got the dish in 10 minutes The food overall was okay, not so impressive to us
Ianhung L — Google review
Nice noodles with Ayam and soup aside. Not outstanding taste, but solid. Tried one morning the bakso, which was ok, but not outstanding. Sio Mai also only ok, as well as bakso goreng. Empanada-like dumplings (Ayam and carrot filling) were good. Go for the normal Yammie noodles, you have spicy sauce and kecap manis on the table to season to taste. Cashier speaks English, other staff a little more difficult. Serving sometimes takes a while, depending on how much is going on. Paid each time roughly 70 k for us two.

It's a cool place for photos in either 3D or 4D photos. One of the choices of tourist sites is to complement the existing tourist locations in Yogyakarta. Two thumbs up for De Mata 👍👍
Rico A — Google review
At De Mata Trick Eye Museum, visitors can feel a three-dimensional sensation with a variety of amazing poses and backgrounds because it's like real. It is called the largest in the world because in XT Square Yogyakarta there are 120 three-dimensional images, while in foreign countries at most only 70 images. The presence of De Mata Trick Eye Museum in XT Square is something new, unique and spectacular, because this museum's tourist attraction is the first one in Yogyakarta even in Central Java. Unique because it presents a variety of images ranging from natural themes, sports, characters, animals, super heroes, romances, circuses, ornaments, including Tamansari tourism objects and Yogyakarta Palace performances. Occupying the basement area of Jogja XT Square, the placement of these three-dimensional images is conceptualized using a labyrinth model so as not to saturate the visitors of this museum. Most of the work is the creation of Petrus Kusuma himself and some other works by art students ISI Yogyakarta. In De Mata there are also statue ornaments of heroes and famous figures. this place is a tourist spot that is suitable for all ages. In this place too, visitors can interact with properties in each room, style like and express.

We chose on weekdays for visiting the museum. I think it's a good idea because there's no many visitors. So, we can take some pictures more flexible and free. The price was cheaper for "terusan" tickets on weekdays compared on the weekend. It's 100K pr. Person. There is 4 different places: De Mata 1 & 2 De Arca, and D'walik. De Mata concept is 3D, illution, and trick Eye with around 120 paintings. D'Arca concept is Statue of Super Heroes in the movies, the world leaders, Singer etc. But, some statue isn't right. D'Walik concept is upside down. We had great fun and it's worth it to spend our time to get different experience.we were really tired as we took many pictures. Thumbs up for the staffs who's in charge, because they were professional, nice and help to take many great photos for us ❤️

Fun place to go especially if you love taking a photo or do selfie, if not ..forget about this place. Spent around 1-2 hours here, me and my kids did enjoy this place. We bought a bundle ticket which include 3 museum tickets ( De Mata 1 & 2, De Arca) it cost around Rp 100.000 per person. The only downside is some of the 3D wallpapers need to be repaired, we can see that some of them start to peel off.
Beatrice S — Google review
this place is cool, there are lots of spots to take pictures. you simply spend Rp50.000 per person then you can enjoy the facility.

I Love all 3D and 4 D art of eye trick / camera trick here. Last time i just visit D'mata I. Also available Dmata II for 4D, D'arca for character statue and D'Walik for special room decorate with top down side reverse. Hahah. So funny here
TENDY D — Google review
Arca means statue. Inside this museum, we can see statues of famous people from past to present, Indonesian heroes, Indonesia leaders, other country's leaders, Holliwood celebrities, movie's figures and others. They are amazing!!! Different from De Mata and De Walik, De Arca Museum gives us enough space in each studio/statue so we do not need to be afraid of being disturbed by other visitors when taking the pictures. Enjoy De Arca. Enjoy Yogyakarta!

Mosque
Masjid Ar-Ridho is strategically located by the roadside, offering a cool and fragrant atmosphere. The mosque provides a comfortable and air-conditioned space with soft carpets, making it an ideal place for prayers. However, parking may be limited. The ablution area is clean and well-maintained, while mukenas are available near the women's section.
(Translated by Google) Stopped by the mosque when traveling through Sorogenan. The mosque is clean and has air conditioning inside. It's really comfortable for the congregation who is praying. The muezzins are men who are quite old. Hopefully there will be regeneration by young people around the mosque who will replace the muezzin when he retires. When I stopped by, the congregation was large enough to make up more than half the capacity of the room. And that day, in the afternoon, there will be a study from Ustadz Salim Filah. But it's a bit unfortunate that when I use the toilet, the smell is a bit unpleasant, whether it's been used by someone or something else. Even though physically the toilet is quite clean. Thank you mosque takmir for taking care of this mosque.

Pendhapa Art Space, also known as PAS Limasan Homestay, is a unique venue located in Sewon. The space offers a luxurious and beautiful setting with Javanese vibes, featuring magnificent pendhopo and an indoor lawn. It houses an art collection including paintings, sculptures, and statues, as well as a performing stage. The outdoor terrace and garden provide a spacious and picturesque setting for events such as weddings.
Went for the art gallery, stayed for the wonderful cafe and gardens. The gallery could do with some more information on artists etc but it’s fine. The cafe is excellent and well attended.

Recommended outdoor and indoor space for events. It has javanese vibes with lots of pendhapa, the garden is spacious and easy to decorate for wedding or other events. Sound spec that comes with this building is also enough for live music, but for a little tip, rent extra genset if you want to add more lighting that requires high wattage

My first time coming to this venue. It was a wedding event. I didn't think before, there was a great place such as this way. It's so beautiful with the luxurious decoration. Parking is a bit tricky, but since this restaurant caters exclusively to takeout customers, parking is easy. The chicken is standard Olive chicken, delicious, and always warm. It's so delicious and so busy that customers sometimes have to wait for the chicken to finish frying. The staff are more than responsive and communicative. The cashier is friendly. The ice cream menu is always empty. Perhaps ice cream could be provided more often, as many children also buy Olive fried chicken. Nestled in the bustling city of Yogyakarta, Angkringan Kopi Jos Lik Man offers a unique culinary experience. This renowned spot is famous for its Sego Kucing, which consists of rice and an array of side dishes like Sambel Teri and Oseng Tempeh. What sets this place apart is its signature Kopi Joss coffee, where charcoal is used to infuse a distinct flavor into the brew.

A great place to hangout especially if you want some traditional atmosphere. Taste of the food is delicious, they have many variations of satay. You can ask to re heat the satay, and they will grill the satay again. It will be great if they re grease the satay with kecap or their own sauce. Rice also very delicious, all of the variant is worth to try. My only complaint is there is not much snack or gorengan, only satay, rice and drink. Price is okay, not on the cheap side, but also not to be considered pricy.

Came here in the evening before dinner to try the charcoal coffee and it did not disappoint. I was told that the charcoal helps to reduce the acidity of the coffee and I feel that held true. The coffee was smooth and tasty once it had a chance to cool down. The restaurant had a chill vibe with many locals laughing and enjoying their food and drinks. The seating was mostly on mats on the ground. I recommend giving this place a try

Do you know a famous place in Yogyakarta where university students, cyber communities such as bloggers and chatters, journalists, artists, pedicab drivers, and even hookers get relax and involved in a warm conversation? When you studied in this student city, where did you usually hold a discussion with your friends about your paper's themes of tasks? One of the places you mention must be angkringan Lik Man that is located at the north of Tugu railway station. It is understandable since the place is famous with Yogyakarta communities. No formal rules apply in this place but tolerance where people are willing to shares space, for example, and to aware of each other's feeling. YogYES invites you to enjoy the nuance of angkringan Lik Man as many other people has experienced as well. From Malioboro Street, you can walk northwards until you reach an alley right to the north of Tugu railway station. If you turn left, you will directly find this famous place on your left side. To identify it, just look at two big containers connected with a bamboo, brazier with burning charcoals, and rows of neatly arranged glasses. Angkringan Lik Man is legendary because the seller is the first generation of the angkringan sellers in Yogyakarta most of whom come from Klaten. Lik Man or uncle Man whose original name is Siswo Raharjo is the son of grandpa Pairo, the first angkringan seller in Yogyakarta who has been running this business since 1950s. The stall with angkringan concept that used to be called 'ting ting hik' was inherited to Lik Man in 1969. Since then, other angkringans mushroomed in Yogyakarta. When you arrive in this angkringan that starts to open at six o'clock in the evening, you can order hot or cold drinks. The favorite beverage is Kopi Joss, coffee served with hot charcoal plunged in it. The superiority of such coffee is lower degree of caffeine after being neutralized by the charcoal. Such finding was resulted from a research done by some students of Gadjah Mada University who often hang around there. The main menu is sego kucing that consists of some rice and stirred-fried tempe and tiny sea fish cooked with chili. Other food such as fries and fried jadah (made of sticky rice) are also available. The delicious sego kucing served warm goes well with fried tempe or others like skewered quail's eggs. It does not have to spend much money to taste delicious menu. Most of the foods can be served warm if you want them to be. Just ask Mr. Man to warm them on the charcoal for a while. Some side dishes such as mendoan (tempe fried with flour), filled tofu, sweetened tempe, chicken head, and of course jadah are more delicious when they are grilled before being served. Usually people eat sego kucing on banana leaf as the packaging of it. Otherwise, you can ask for plates to put more than one portion of sego kucing. Two seat arrangements are available for you to enjoy your meals. If you want to seat near the seller in order for you to chat with him or to ease you add some more dishes, you would better sit beside the brazier. However, if you want to be able to have a chat with your friends, it is better for you to sit on the mat spread on the pavement across the street. The spread of the mat reaches as long as 100 meter. Kopi Joss been one of the must visit in Yogyakarta. I came her for their 'sego kucing' with tons of cheap side dishes (send my love to sate2an ❤️) and charcoal black coffee for sure! I love the ambience of sitting around at trotoar with bunch of buskers.

Javanese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Yogyakarta, Gudeg Pawon is a culinary gem that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since 1958. This beloved eatery specializes in gudeg, a traditional dish made from young jackfruit simmered for hours in rich coconut milk and aromatic spices. Served alongside rice, chicken, and sambal, each plate offers a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors that truly captures the essence of Javanese cuisine.
Gudeg Pawon Selera Nusantara is an essential destination for those seeking an authentic Yogyakarta culinary experience at night. This spot offers the rare and memorable opportunity to dine directly in the kitchen, immersing visitors in a traditional and lively atmosphere. The food is not only flavorful but also enhanced by the unique "pawon" (live kitchen) concept. Perfect for those eager to savor authentic gudeg, it's best to arrive early to avoid long queues. Highly recommended dishes include the spicy krecek, bursting with rich and savory flavors, the tender and well-seasoned kampung chicken opor, and the tempe bacem, which perfectly rounds out the meal.

If you want an authentic Javanese culinary experience, then this is a must go. Gudeg is so well known as Jogja traditional food, made of young, unripe jackfruit cooked with coconut milk gives you a distinct and unique flavor. Some people associate it to be similar with a very tender beef. You can view the old kitchen they use to make this meal, nothing fancy, no aircon not even waiters 😊 but to see the uncle put gudeg, krecek, chicken/meat, egg and all the ingredients to your plate and hand over to your hand directly, well.... that's something very personal, folks 😍 I don't have to comment on the taste, it's 11 out of 10 for sure! And still... Quite affordable, this place got my 100% recommendation ; you will not only got the delicious meal but cool experience 🤩

Finally back again after 19 years ago for the first time eating here.As far as I remember, the kitchen hasn't changed much, only the access road to here is wider and brighter. There are no long queues like before, also the opening hours are earlier due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a rule that prohibits activities not to exceed 9 pm.What I like about the gudeg here is that the gori is not too sweet, wet and the sauce is thin. The opor chicken is tender with a savory sauce and the krecek is soft with large pieces. If you want it spicy, you can ask for cayenne pepper in the krecek sauce and then eat it with the side dishes. Ah, this Pawon gudeg is so delicious, I recommend it!Besides, it reminds me of the nostalgia of the old days when I ate with my ex-girlfriend who is now my wife.. Hehehehe..
Rico A — Google review
Lucky when we arrived only 2 people queue. When we about to pay, lining up to the door. About 15people. Gudeg not too sweet. Ayam is chewy and nice. The kerecek is spicy and salty. For those who like salty version will like this. The ibu2 is super friendly. Just eat first and pay later. It looks like they dont write it down our order.( 5 of us) but apparently they have a book written all of the order.

Went here before opening hours and second later tons of people came and start to filled up the place. the place is not really big, and we eat wherever we want. the taste is good, the price is pretty high and the portion is normal.

[+++] Such a unique experience when you could enter the traditional kitchen of the gudeg and witness it directly [++] I prefer this kind of gudeg where the sweetness is mild and yet also has decent spiciness from the krecek [+] The price is super affordable for a domestic tourist like me
Tara M — Google review
Ok let's be honest, the Gudeg defenitely just an ordinary gudeg and nothing special about the taste, you could find a way better one across Yogyakarta. The thing is..what makes this place so famous is the 'concept' and the hype of net, that's all about it. They sell the food in a humble traditional village style kitchen (which make people think its the most authentic, we know people go crazy for this kind of concept and hype right?) and only open for 3 hours (which make people think it would sold fast, so long queque is happened). The food serve directly from the hot pot, so you will eat it while it still warm. The service is lousy and slow (old man and woman serve food, pay, and talk at the same time). The price is not that affordable for Yogyakarta standard either, higher rate than other bigger proper Gudeg restaurant (especially this one who sell from 'traditional village style kind of kitchen')

Proximity is everything
For day 3, we bundled attractions like Goa Selarong and TK ABA Al-Wafa and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 7 hours.

Goa Selarong, located in Bantul, is a historical site with a natural preserve featuring stone steps, meditation caves, waterfalls, and a museum. It was once used as a command base for the Java War led by Prince Diponegoro against the Dutch. The area also offers camping grounds and is popular for picnics. Visitors can enjoy the cool air and beautiful views while exploring the site's historical significance.
The cave is pretty small, so I think the waterfall is more interesting. The place is quite relaxed, not many tourists, and beautiful nature.

Could be better. Can be improved: We had good time there but to be honest, there were not much to see. The signs are in bad conditions, some are torn, not readable, or not informative at all. The paths are not well maintained and it can be dangerous like missing or shaky railings. It could be a good educative place if it's handled properly. The good: admission price is to be adjusted to 10K (rupiah) per person, the sign is there but the gatekeeper let us know we only need to pay old price for now (6K) which is a rare level of honesty. The parking fee for car is 10K which is reasonable. There are charming local fruit stall and they didn't jack up the price. It's good to support local and honest seller. Everyone is friendly there, so hopefully the government will improve the place soon to attract more visitors as the livelihood of these people rely on this destination. When I was there, the place was clean, no rubbish.

A historical site on the Selarong Hills in Guwosari, Pajangan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. It used to be a command base for the epic fight in the so-called Java War led by Prince Diponegoro against the Dutch (1825-1830). On a high cliff there are two cool separate caves as emergency rooms for gents and ladies, which can be reached by walking some from the parking lot up through concrete wide steps. Next to the gents cave there is a cool waterfall which flows in the rainy season, and on a lower height there is a children playground. On my last visit several years ago, the East side next to the ladies cave was damaged due a light landslide. A clean mosque not far from the entrance gate.

We did the batik class here and it was awesome! Definitely a highlight from our visit to Indonesia. We were even able to request a bespoke design for our pieces and we were really happy with the results! Highly recommend doing this class, though worth noting that it’s probably a 5hr time investment - you can do shorter but won’t get the most interesting design.
Lauren C — Google review
After some almost scams in Malioboro street we came to Leksa Batik. It was AMAZING. When we arrived we got a tour through the place where they make the batik by hand. Everything got explained really well. We also saw the pottery. We had a Vulcano coffee (they have 6 different types!) which was lovely. And after that we bought an amazing piece of art (without the frame so we can bring it with us)which we are very happy with.
Maaike B — Google review
Amazing! One of the men working there (who I believe was the owner, last picture) was very eager to show us around the place and took us through every step of batik. We saw some women actively making the designs and applying the wax, where they dyed the fabric, melt the wax off, hang it to dry and just anything related to. This is the real deal and real artists working with miniature designs that look stunning! They had a shop as well where you can buy art in form of wall decorations, but also one where you can buy a sarong, scarf, cardigan and other. The prices also make it clear that this is the real deal, as it’s way overpriced in the city (and printed). You get to support real artists here, and they are all so sweet! You can also get coffee, tea and water in the back where they have a small cafe. Lastly, they also offer workshops where you can try it yourself! (Contact them for open days as it differs).

You have to come here if you're in Yogyakarta, we did the workshop and it was so interesting and fun. Great to be able to take home and hang up what we made. Everyone here is really friendly and teaches and encourages you while making it fun 😁 if you're not interested in the workshop I would still suggest coming here to view the incredible art in the gallery and take a look at the process 😁

Leksa Ganesha is the coolest spot in Jogja. I learnt about it through a Batik and Culinary Class experience and had the best day of creating Batik, eating Gudeg Nangka and hanging with the cool dudes at the gallery with a sleek cup of coffee made with beans from the Merapi region. It couldn’t get better.

I happened to meet a man who works with the Leksa Ganesha batik people. He suggested the Batik class, sent the link and I was away. They are all so warm and helpful, lovely gallery and very skilled producers. I chose to create my own memories of Indonesia batik piece and painted some of the dye detail. It is better to let the professional artists there add the dye colours, but you can customise the colours you want. They serve excellent volcanic soil coffees and also run a cooking class. I had a wonderful time and will treasure my batik piece. I definitely recommend Leksa Ganesha batik for a great local experience. Thank you

Amazing experience. If you’re in Yogya, this should be at the top of your to do list!, 100% recommend! There’s a gallery at the front where traditional wax painting are sold for very reasonable prices. At the back is the art studio and cafe. We just turned up unannounced at around 2pm and were lucky to go straight into an art class, where we learnt about the history of this cultural art technique. Took about 2/3 hours and the price was a steal for the quality of the experience (can’t remember exact price) We first observed several worker in action, then practiced to get used to the technique and specialised equipment, and finally did our own painting from start to finish. You choose to sketch your own painting or select from their many pre-sketched paintings (We chose the latter as we wanted to focus on the wax pen technique and there designs were beautiful) All the workers and experts were happy, friendly, informative and funny. We even got talking to the manager, who gave us lots of great recommendations and contacts for activities in Indonesia. So glad we did because they turned out to be some of the best tours we went on in south east Asia!

The History Of Java Museum (HOJM) is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, located about 30 minutes from Parangtritis Beach. The museum offers an immersive experience with advanced technology, including AR support through a downloadable app. Visitors can explore the creation of Java island through a video presentation and view an extensive collection of bronze statues, puppets, ceramics, and more. The museum also features a unique pyramid exterior and ample parking space.
Super nice place , full of historical information regards Java from ancient times. Price of ticket is affordable and price include guide who is open for any kind of explanation for a historical subject. We like it very much.

It's a right place to visit if you want to learn a bit about the history of Java. In the beginning, we'll watch a video about how the Java island was created. Then, the guide will bring us to see the collection of bronze statues, puppets, ceramics, and many more. The museum supports AR, but to access this, we need to download an app beforehand. So far, the AR only shows pictures of old buildings, animals, etc. I hope they can develop it to be more advance. Once we have finished seeing the collections, we will be brought to watch a 3D video about dinosaurs. It has nothing to do with the Java island, but it's quite funny. I bet your kids will like it. The last room is diorama room. There are spots to take photos in here. The ticket fee is 35K per person. It includes the guide as well.
Ardian N — Google review
One of the best and large museums in Yogyakarta. Located on the south part of the region, It is very easy to spot the place. Just look for a tall white pyramid and you'll see it clearly. It used to be a building used for receptions & event but turned into a private owned museum. The parking lot is super wide with small stalls of food vendors. Ticket price is affordable for such scale of museum with a guide part of the ticket fee, unlimited sightseeing time, short movie & a free mini studio for pictures; more about them below. Once you enter the museum, a guide will welcome you. If you're lucky, you'll get the in house guide, but sometimes they only have high school student interns (those major in tourism) as the guide but with limited knowledge. They can still tell you about the exhibits, though, but won't know information beyond the written text available. At first, they let you sit and watch a short movie about Java's history. Then the guide will take you to the next sections. They have many sections related to the history of Java and the guide will explain to you throughout the way. You are free to stop at every item & read with no limited time, unless the place is crowded, you can have simply unlimited time. Some of the information are available for an Augmented Reality effect. You have to download the app first, it's free. But it would be best to notify the visitors after buying ticket to download the app since inside the museum, the receptions are a bit difficult. After that, the last section is a 3D short cinema though unrelated at all - about a baby dinosaur ventured beyond its lair. The 3D glasses are unfortunately worked poorly and couldn't give you the 3D effect at all. The last exhibition is actually a small photo rooms with various backgrounds (Javanese history related) with some props that you can use and wear. The relatively new museum then handed me a simple questionnaire to fill related to my opinions on the museum. Thumbs up to their effort to keep getting better. Beyond the photo studio is an open area for extra events, so I believe they also rent that section. It would be nice to see the museum keeps getting better. Tips: download the app (History of Java Museum AR) prior entering the museum. Come early to get the whole museum for yourself. Call them prior the visit to avoid large groups since schools and company visits are seldom occur. Some areas prohibit you to take pictures, so be mindful.
Dita — Google review
A great museum with a fine collection of javanese culture and history. They had a big parking spot and a unique pyramid exterior, very easy to spot from the road. The entrance ticket cost Rp 35.000 (all in including guide). When we step in, first they showed us a short movie about the history of java. The collection room divided into 3 part + 1 extra about keraton (kingdom) in Jogjakarta and Solo. You are allowed try to play the gong. After the collection room, you can take a picture with their diorama. They also provided javanese traditional clothes as a prop for free for you to wear. At the end of the tour, they give us questionnaire form. They also ask us to take a video about our testimony. But sadly, my guide didn't know a thing about the collection. She can't even answer basic question about the history. This really gives this museum a bad impression for me.

I had lunch at a different Sate Klatak Embah Momo outlet near a gas station. The set up was clean and simple. Instead of the usual dislike for goat satay, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted. The Goat Satay (Klatak & Momo) and Chicken Satay were both tender and delicious. I highly recommend trying their satay.
Best klatay satay in this town Huge parking area and has play ground The klatay satay should try Sweet satay was tasty also

We had lunch not at this place but at another new Embah Momo Satay outlet across a gas station. Good clean simple set ups. A portion of satay only consist of 3 skewers. I usually don't like goat satay. But boy! They taste so good! Their Goat Satay (Klatak & Momo) and the Chicken Satay are tender and delicious. We really recommend for others to try their satay. We definitely will stop by and order their satay again if we have an opportunity to visit or pass by imogiri.

Family restaurant
Kopi Prana Pari is a hidden gem nestled amidst picturesque paddy fields, offering a serene dining experience away from the hustle and bustle. While some dishes like the pisang goreng may not meet expectations due to their thick batter, other offerings such as the fried Nila with curry sauce shine with flavor. The mie goreng could benefit from more spices, and there was an unexpected hiccup when a waiter had to run out for instant noodles.
When we came here, there were no other guests. Apparently the food was really tasty, however beverages weren't too recommended. Rice field view was great.
S K — Google review
The surrounding scenery is very nice: the restaurant faces a field. The mie goreng was nothing special, though. And they didn't even have it when I ordered it: the waiter took his motorbike and went to buy the instant noodles. I don't understand how a restaurant may not have something so basic. And staff be sitting idle, not bothering to buy, so as to be ready when a customer orders.
Anton K — Google review
Didn't enjoy the pisang goreng as the batter's just too thick and my friend was disappointed that it didn't include chocolate sprinkles and cheese like the picture on the menu. When I told the waiter, he said you should have made the order more specific. The mie goreng and mie kuah sea food are okay but could use more spices I think. I loved the dish I ordered, fried Nila with curry sauce. I left some tips for the waiter and he thought that I left the money by mistake. Oh, I also loved their lemon grass tea!!!
Fauziah A — Google review
A laid back restaurant with traditional menu selections. Astonishing view of rice padi. Good value of money
Detik C — Google review
great place, although the road is not very wide but it can handle cars. The price is rather expensive for local but still affordable for a lot of people. And the taste is amazing! Everything we ordered are presented in a good way. What we love is nasi goreng sawah, ikan nila bakar ikan goreng.
Dismas L — Google review
Great food at affordable prices. Cozy breezy place in the middle of rice fields.
Supermeind — Google review
Excellent local food, price, service and especially ambience. You won't regret it as it's next to the padi fields that will heighten your culinary experience. The waiter was very nice and quick to take our orders.
Rushdan E — Google review
At the first time we didn't expect there will be a nice place to eat in the middle of paddy rice field and at the edge of a small road. But this place, though is not a big restaurant, has a nice scene and we like how quiet the place is, just perfect for us. The food we ate were fresh cooked, worth the price. Just need more lavatory and abit improvement. But overall, this place is good :).

Indonesian restaurant
Waroeng Pohon Omah Sawah is a charming Indonesian eatery that offers a unique dining experience in the midst of nature. The restaurant's concept creates a backyard dining atmosphere, perfect for enjoying traditional Indonesian dishes and light bites with family or friends.
Nice chicken ingkung. The taste is nice but i think i think if you order the grilled one, its just plain sweet soy sauce. I cant taste the ingkung. The other menu also good and the ambience is so nice and calming.
Banuaji P — Google review
I first heard about this place from my mom, who praised the food and the serene atmosphere. The Javanese-style décor, with old wooden furniture and plenty of photo spots, really adds to the peaceful vibe. So, I decided to reserve it for a family lunch gathering. To my surprise, they limit reservations to just two hours on weekends, with no clear explanation other than it being their SOP. This seemed odd, especially for a family-friendly restaurant, not an all-you-can-eat spot. Given we were a group of 15, two hours felt a bit rushed for a leisurely family meal. However, after speaking with my mom, we went ahead with the reservation. Overall, it's a nice place, and I do recommend visiting. The food, especially the Sego Ingkung and Garang Asem, is excellent. However, there are a few areas for improvement: 1. Instead of limiting reservations to two hours, consider a minimum spend policy, which feels fairer. 2. When explaining the SOP to customers, provide clear, reasonable reasons rather than simply stating 'that’s the SOP.' 3. Staffing could be improved. It took 20 minutes for my additional sambal bawang to arrive, and I had nearly finished my meal by then. In conclusion, it’s a great spot for family or group gatherings, but I hope the management considers upgrading their customer service, reservation policies, and the cleanliness of the restrooms.
Puspita R — Google review
The restaurant shows thoughtful attention to décor and ambience, though it’s a bit worn down — which is a pity. Surprisingly cool inside despite the lack of fans. As for the food, it’s decent. Not particularly impressive or memorable, but okay lah.

The place has unique style in combining spacious seating place with traditional, forestry, rocky ambience. I however feels it a bit creepy to my opinion. The food's taste is just okay. Lots of friendly staffs that are very helpful

Sorry to say, nothing good about this place. Small parking lot, cannot small access to the location. Take very long time to get out order done. 1 plate of fried shrimp contains only few. Insufficient number of waiters. The worst part is its smells stinks and too many flies. I will not recommend this place, better to find another place. 🙏
Krishna H — Google review
Nice food, nice place, suitable for hanging out with your family. You might gonna need to book because in weekend, it'l get full booked. For the 4 stars, you may see in the photos i posted, not all the waiter, only one actually, whom did something really disturbing and innapropriate for a well known restaurant. Is it normal for waiter to take notes while sitting next to the guest? Based on my experience it is not. Hopefully this restaurant will improve the service quality. Yet they have something for you which is coffe space and you can choose your own taste, and last time i visited this restaurant, its just a normal restaurant without any special besides good view, green scenery and good taste.
Sonda F — Google review
Great place, good food, awesome ambience with traditional javanese style. Great staff and fast service, bit pricey but worth it when you reach there you will feel like you are connected with nature full of huge and big trees make the place so calm and cozy with the breeze. The food are so typically street food with a la carte menu. Is good for the weekend getaway. Some of the building was decorated complete with lime stone style, lesehan style and high chair and table style. It was so quite during afternoon for lunch not many people coming there. So nature for sure will come back whenever i visit jogja...
Travel L — Google review
The place itself was great! Really. Traditional Javanese houses surrounded with plants all around and a lot, I mean like a hell lot, spots for taking beautiful picture. But! Like any other dreams, there is always a downside. The Food & Beverage. It's just too expensive for it's taste. You can not fill up your tummy here without at least 50K. Well, they do have an economic package worth 20K or so, so I recommend you to take the package instead. Because the food itself taste way so ordinary to be put at 20K or above price tag. There is nothing out of the ordinary for the beverage as well. Just your day-to-day Es Teh or juices. So, I think this place is a bargain. Nice place to chill and pic-hunting if you're into that kind of thing. But, for food, it's another story.

The tour allows early access to the temple grounds, starting as early as 4:30 AM, and includes complimentary coffee/tea with biscuits. You can opt for a guided tour or choose a package offered by a tour operator. Visitors have praised the Dagi Hill Sunrise package, which provides an amazing experience with informative guides and punctual drivers.
Had recently opted Borobudur Sunrise Tours Dagi Hill Sunrise package which was indeed an awesome experience and highly recommend this package. The tour was guided by Mr Maryoto who was very informative and shared the intricate details of Borobudur, Prambanan and temples around. The driver Mr Adi was very timely and punctual & the car that we were given for this tour was in great condition & well maintained. All in all I highly recommend Borobudur Sunrise Tours for your holiday package planning in Yogyakarta.

(Translated by Google) We chose the tour with the Borobudur - Prambanan and Mount Mirapi option at around €100 per person. The cost is really disproportionate for the tour and the place but you have to understand that it is mainly given by the price of the temple to go up to the top. So in the end it's pretty fair. Our driver was very friendly and courteous and they provided us with great guides in all three places. The best experience is in Prambanan as far as I'm concerned. Monte mirapi can be easily avoided! The extremely negative note is that in such a tour lunch should be included and lasts all day. Or at least some local snacks!

Very nice experience at both the Borobudur and Prambanan temples ! Our guide, Andi, and the driver, Atih, were wonderful. Andi was incredibly friendly, and also knowledgeable about the history of the temples. He spoke very good English. We wanted to stop in an additional temple not foreseen in the programme because we asked for it and it was no problem at all for them. Also it was very easy to book the tour, even just one day in advance. All in all, a 5 out of 5 !!

Sate Klatak Joss is a must-visit culinary gem nestled in the heart of Bangunharjo, Sewon, Bantul Regency, within the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This local favorite serves up an array of delectable dishes that cater to diverse palates. The inviting atmosphere and friendly service make it an ideal spot for food lovers exploring the area.
The Highlights: The Tongseng that I had here could be the best one I have eaten in Jogja. The dish so good I had to order it twice. The Sate Klatak was excellent as well. Atmosphere: Great atmosphere they even have live band playing soft and relaxing music Price: The price is competitive. Service: The waiting time between my order and when the dish arrived to the table was within 5 to 10 minutes.

First time here, lamb sate really famous here, taste quite good, not bad. But the owner can't provide more beverage.
Lonely E — Google review
The restaurant looks nice from outside with plenty of seats and parking. Went here to take away food. The satay taste is normal, nothing special or out of the world but surprised with the price, expensive for only 4 sticks of satay (40k) eventhough we didn't opt for the rice. Waiting time for the food was forever. I didn't like how the menu did not have any price and only explained by the waiter. Wouldn't be a repeated visit. Really don't understand the high ratings.
N.a.d S — Google review
When it comes to find the best sate klathak in Jogja, you need to explore a lot of places. Based on my experience, each restaurant has different approach and also slight different recipes on how to cook this type of sate. And now, after tried many of them, finally I found the best of the best. Sate Klathak Pak Joss offers different taste of sate klathak. It was tender, tasty and also well cooked. I also tried konyos, basically a deep fried fat dish. Yes, it's a lamb fat. For some people, it could be very dangerous. But it is really really nice. You should try this at least once in the lifetime.

Soto ayam restaurant
Soto Ayam Pak Dalbe is a renowned chicken soup dish that has gained quite a reputation. Despite its humble presentation, the soup is highly acclaimed for its sumptuous and comforting taste. The special chicken soup at Pak Dalbe attracts large crowds, often leading to long queues. The flavorful broth and generous portion size make it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
Hole between and over 2 drains / buildings. Walk through the “opening” if you want to find a seat with shelter. Plonk yourself in front a huge bowl of spicy fresh chili mix and cut limes as you await a hot bowl of mee and shredded chicken soup. What a sight and delight !

Pak dalbe josss!!!!! One of my favorite soto in jogja thats for sure
H W — Google review
No debate! For me, this was the best chicken soto stall in Jogja. The soto taste wonderful, even if you did not add any condiments. The broth was really flavorful and the portion size was big. Their satay and chicken part such as wings or head addition also really good. But the best part is their tempe mendoan. It was a perfect side for the soto. However, you probably have to queue for the tempe mendoan, because they often sold off and you need to wait for another batch. Because the stall is quite small and the front side is a non-parling zone, you have to park your vehicles in the Tribun Jogja building, just across the stall. Definitely must visited place to eat soto.

Hidden gem soto ayam kampung because this place "terselip" between buildings in town. The place is between Pizza Hut and GBI Sudirman Yogyakarta. The place is very small and a bit dark. You can eat on sidewalk with the road town view. You can park in Tribun Office, across the Soto Ayam Pak Dalbe. The taste so good with cheap price. Don't forget to add fried tempe wkwk. Good choice to breakfast in here!

Famous street food Soto in town. Its has local taste, another ones you have to try is “Sate” and “Mendoan”. The place has limited space and parking area so sometime you need few time to wait. But it recommend for breakfast

One of delicious chicken soto soup in town, you can find it nearby Swissbel Hotel. The place is like an alley and hard to notice from highway. The parking lot perhaps just enough for motobike but you can consider to park at Hartono. The soto itself is full of flavour, rather sweet, with generous chicken flakes, slurpp it with their fried tempeh and the satay...woaahh...😂
