Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a sacred monument dedicated to Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda, located on a rock in the sea. It is believed that Swami Vivekananda attained enlightenment after meditating on this rock. The site also holds significance as the place where Goddess Parvati did penance for Lord Shiva.
Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a stunning monument surrounded by the blue waters of the Indian Ocean. 🌊 It stands as a symbol of peace, spirituality, and Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring vision. 🙏 The ferry ride to the rock offers a breathtaking view of Kanyakumari’s coastline. 🚤 Inside, the meditation hall provides a calm and divine atmosphere. 🕉️ Overall, it’s a must-visit place that fills the heart with pride and serenity. 🌅

Visiting the Vivekananda Rock Memorial was one of the most inspiring and peaceful experiences of my trip to Kanyakumari. Standing proudly in the middle of the ocean, the memorial marks the sacred spot where Swami Vivekananda meditated and attained enlightenment before his journey to spread his teachings across the world. The ferry ride to the rock itself is a wonderful experience — the vast expanse of the sea, the cool breeze, and the sight of the statue of Thiruvalluvar standing tall nearby create an unforgettable view. Once you reach the memorial, the calmness of the place instantly surrounds you. Despite the visitors, there’s a deep sense of silence and spirituality in the air. The structure is beautifully built, blending Indian architectural styles with simplicity and grace. Inside the meditation hall, it’s completely quiet — just you, the sound of the waves, and a feeling of deep peace. Sitting there for a few minutes made me feel truly centered and calm. From the top, the panoramic view of the meeting point of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean is breathtaking. Watching the waves crash around the rock while the sun sets in the distance is a sight I’ll never forget. Overall, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial is more than just a tourist attraction — it’s a place of reflection, strength, and inner peace. Whether you’re spiritual, curious, or simply love scenic beauty, this is one place in Kanyakumari that will stay with you long after you’ve left.

I visited Vivekananda Rock Memorial on a public holiday. Even though I had booked tickets online, I still had to wait for more than an hour to reach the entry point. There was another long queue for the boat service. They actually have different types of tickets, ₹100 and ₹300 (both available online and offline). Online tickets get a slight priority for the boat, but waiting is still unavoidable on busy days. The boat ride itself is short, around 5 minutes, but it’s quite enjoyable. Once you reach the rock, there’s a separate entry ticket of ₹30 to explore the memorial. The place is very calm, surrounded by the vast sea, truly beautiful and peaceful. The glass bridge connecting the Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekananda Rock is another highlight. Walking on it, with the sea beneath, is a wonderful experience. The Thiruvalluvar Statue itself is a masterpiece, stunning and majestic.

Vivekananda Rock Memorial is an unforgettable experience and a must-visit landmark in Kanyakumari. Located in the middle of the ocean, the ferry ride itself feels exciting and gives amazing views of the coastline. The memorial is beautifully built, maintaining a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere as you walk around the rock where Swami Vivekananda meditated. The panoramic view of the confluence of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean is truly breathtaking — especially during sunrise and sunset. The place is cleanly maintained and the staff are helpful in guiding visitors. You can spend time in meditation inside the hall, which feels very calming. It’s a perfect combination of history, spirituality, and natural beauty. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kanyakumari!

The Vivekananda Rock offers a peaceful atmosphere, while the Thiruvalluvar Statue stands tall and inspiring. The Glass Bridge gave a thrilling view of the ocean below — a must-try for adventure lovers! Overall, it was a memorable trip filled with beauty, peace, and excitement. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kanyakumari. 🌅

It’s a peaceful and spiritual experience, especially with the sound of the sea breeze. The place is well-maintained and easily accessible for early morning visitors. A must-visit spot for nature lovers and photographers visiting Kanyakumari.

I reached Kanyakumari at around 5:30 in the morning and rushed to the sunrise point, but it was already filled with people and more kept coming in. I knew the sunrise would be around 6:10 (in October), so I patiently waited. If you arrive closer to that time, it’s almost impossible to find a spot because of the huge crowd. After some time, I finally witnessed the sunrise live and it was truly beautiful and mesmerizing. The most exciting part was the waiting itself, watching the colors of the sky slowly change as the sun began to rise. A peaceful yet unforgettable experience. 🌅

Arulmigu Devi Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amman Temple is one of the most revered and ancient temples in South India, located at the southernmost tip of the Indian subcontinent in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi Amman, a manifestation of Goddess Parvati, the temple holds immense spiritual, cultural, and historical significance. According to legend, the Goddess took the form of a virgin to destroy the demon king Banasura, who was causing distress to the gods and people. The temple’s presiding deity, the virgin goddess, is believed to embody purity, power, and divine grace. The idol of the Goddess is adorned with a glittering diamond nose ring, which is so bright that it is said to be visible even from the sea. This sparkling jewel has been the subject of many myths, adding to the temple’s mystical aura. The temple is also associated with the myth of Goddess Kanya awaiting her marriage with Lord Shiva, which was interrupted, symbolizing eternal devotion. The architecture of the temple reflects traditional Dravidian style, with carved pillars, detailed sculptures, and a sacred sanctum that attracts devotees from all over India. A beautiful and peaceful temple located right by the seashore — one of Kanyakumari’s most spiritual spots. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kanyakumari and is known for its divine atmosphere and unique seaside location. The morning darshan is the best time to visit (around 5:30–7:30 AM) when it’s less crowded and you can hear the sound of waves in the background. Phones and cameras aren’t allowed inside, so it’s a nice break from screens — you can really just soak in the calm and positive vibes. The temple is well-maintained, and the nearby shops and ocean view make the visit even more special. A must-visit when in Kanyakumari! 🌅

The Place having such historical significance should be maintained by private players who are very enthusiastic about Vivekananda. TN govt worst maintenance always no passion, vision or enthusiastic in anything that they do. Pros The rock is maintained well, obviously it's not maintained by Govt it's self evident. Glass bridge (negative too) Cons Online booking for the ferry is broken the payments get declined due to fraudulently notice. Shows Present TN Govt ethics.. For a 2 min ride in boat charging 100 for ferry is unrealistic. Rs. 300 special ferry charges is a scam and has notthing in it, you better avoid this and buy only if you are in a hurry and there is a long que. Be advised Que moves fast so no point in special ticket. The glass bridge idea as a whole is good, but no one to maintain it so there's no visibility below especially when there's slight rain. So if no maintenance is done by cleaning the surface then no point in building it. To a govt who had the mind to build a glass bridge between the two rocks could have also built another bridge connecting main land as its hardly 50mtrs. See Google Maps or My Pics. Main Con not sure why Stalin picture is there in the Govt boat. The guy doesn't believe in Hinduism, hence has got nothing to do with Vivekananda swami. Ferry are so badly maintained that you would get scarred if you see then afar. The Maintenance area is so small

Renowned for its spiritual significance, the temple is one of the 108 Shakti Peethas, sacred sites believed to house the divine presence of the goddess. The temple’s unique location, where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean converge, adds to its spiritual aura and scenic charm, making it a must-visit destination for devotees and tourists alike. The main deity is depicted as a young girl, symbolizing purity, devotion, and divine feminine energy, and is especially noted for her nose ring, which legend says was once visible to passing ships and helped guide them safely to shore. Kanyakumari is famous for beach and temple, at Nagercoil district in Tamilnadu. The temple is one of the 108 Shakthi Peethas and is dedicated to goddess Devi Kanyakumari. The temple has a history of over 3000 years. Other shrines inside the temple is Lord Surya Deva, Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyappa, Goddess Bala Sundari and Goddess Vijaya Sundari. The story about the origin of this temple is that demon Banasura gained a blessing that he could be killed only by a virgin girl. To eliminate the threat of Banadura, Goddess Parasakthi took the form of Kumari, or a virgin girl. The goddess eventually defeated Banasura. Saint Narada and Lord Parasurama requested the goddess to exist on earth till the end of Kaliyuga, which she accepted. Hence Parasurama constructed this temple by the ocean and installed the idol of Devi Kanyakumari.

The hotel provides convenient facilities such as 24-hour security, daily housekeeping, and a rooftop restaurant. very clean and quiet hotel. they gave an extra bedroom request for our driver to sleep in one of our rooms. parking was complimentary. well lot. good service. breakfast was excellent. restaurant in 7th has amazing views of the ocean. we saw an amazing view of the sunrise over the ocean from there.

Beautiful Location & View, but Room Maintenance Needs Work I stayed here for one night with family and had booked a sea-view room — and the view was truly excellent. The room size was also quite good, and the rooftop restaurant offers a stunning ocean view, which made the experience memorable. The location is prime, walking distance from the temple and the boat jetty. The staff were courteous and helpful too. However, the room maintenance was just okay, and cleanliness could definitely be improved. The bathroom fittings and overall finish looked worn out. Food quality was also average — not bad, but nothing special either. If you're looking for a short stay with a great view and central location, this place works — but don’t expect high standards in cleanliness or upkeep.

Very good property. View of the ocean from seaview rooms. Could have balcony but I won't complain. Cleanliness is good. Service is great. Food/breakfast is clean. The reception guys were really nice to us. Thank you for the great stay;

Brilliant hotel and wonderful hospitality by hotel staff. Very big rooms and just mesmerizing scienaary from room windows as sea is just behind the hotel. All the sight scene places just walkable to the hotel. I would love to come again and stay here for a longer period of time. Highly referred to all who wants to come to Kanyakunari and enjoy their stay here.

It was a good stay for us at this hotel. The sea facing rooms had a great view of the sea. Also the restaurant on the 7th floor has an amazing view of the sea. I must mention that the receptionist/front office personnel was not very welcoming. His replies weren't very friendly and he was short tempered. He doesn't care about providing the customers with a good service. We booked rooms on the 4th floor but were given rooms in the 3rd floor which seemed deliberate.
Silvya J — Google review
The location is top notch. The views from the place are amazing. The rooms definitely need a revamp. The mirror light was messing up again and again. Overall the feel isn’t really up to the mark. The bathroom despite having a shower did not work. If these things are ignored, it’s a good stay.
Vaibhav C — Google review
Fantastic location.. awesome staff.. very poor restaurant and onsite facilities.. the staff do everything to make things better.. cleanliness was good.. but a very dated hotel with beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding areas
Naven P — Google review
The worst part of this hotel is the rude, unhelpful reception manager. We were given a room with broken locks, and he argued with us until we showed him a picture. We then had to move our own bags to a new room where the lights didn't even work. The buffet breakfast is horrible, and they try to scam you by giving you a bad room and charging a high price for a sea-facing 'upgrade'. The only good thing was the sunrise. Do not stay here. I have added a pic of the manager

Vegetarian restaurant
Hotel Saravana is a renowned name in South Indian vegetarian cuisine, offering a delightful variety of dosas, idlis, vadas, and filter coffee. The restaurant chain is known for its exceptional taste and hospitality, ensuring a satisfying and memorable dining experience. Whether you're craving crispy dosas or soft idlis with coconut chutneys and hot sambar, Hotel Saravana promises an authentic Tamil food experience that locals and tourists love.
For dinner during our two-day visit to Kanyakumari, we happily ate at Hotel Saravana both nights. This restaurant is in a prime location and offers an impressive vegetarian menu featuring a wide variety of both South and North Indian options. The space is generous, with comfortable seating in both AC and non-AC sections. However, the true highlight of our dining experience was the exceptional service provided by our waiters on separate days: Rajesh and Praveen. Even with a language barrier, both gentlemen went above and beyond to ensure we had a truly pleasant and enjoyable meal, demonstrating genuine hospitality that made us eager to return.
Krishna G — Google review
They have no hygiene. I had ordered a masala dosa and idli. They brought the food on a banana leaf, and that was put on a plate. The plate was very dirty, had brown water flowing on it. When I asked the waiter to clean this, he said you can just take the leaf and remove the plate. I then had to take the plate to the manager, who finally asked to change it. Really poor attitude, bad taste and poor hygiene. Would not recommend to anyone.

This is located near Bhagavati Amman Temple and it's a pure vegeterian restaurant. We had both breakfast and lunch at this place. Both were very good. We tried idly and pongal in breakfast, which costed us ~₹250.We enjoyed the Amman Lunch Special Meal from the menu. Needless to say it was one of the most satisfying dishess.
Dibyendu C — Google review
Located perfectly near the rock memorial and Mandir this is a famous and good food joint. It has good food options specially south Indian food. washroom available . Good seating space. Separate AC room. Pongal was very authentic and tasty. Cost is about okay.
Leena K — Google review
I was extremely disappointed with the food service at this hotel. The prices were very high, but the food quality was the absolute worst. We ordered Dosa and Chapathi, and everything was served cold and hard. Most concerningly, the coconut chutney tasted rotten. When we complained, the staff gave a careless response, essentially implying that they don't care about the quality because they are in a high-tourist area. Avoid dining here if you value hygiene and fresh, quality food.
Ganesh K — Google review
Very near to Kanyakumari beach, this restaurant is a rare find – relatively clean and hygienic. The food's decent, though dosas could be crispier, and the pongal and curd vada were average. However, the spacious seating and AC compartment are definite perks, making it a comfortable pit stop near the beach.
Opalina R — Google review
A very well maintained pure veg restaurant just in front of Kanyakumari temple. Service was very fast, clean and well maintained. Good sitting arrangement. A little bit overpriced but tasted good. Sitting area is good. Masala Dosa is rs 120.
D B — Google review
The hotel is overhyped. The prices are high, and the taste is quite basic. We tried the masala dosa in the morning, which was average, and later the much-promoted Anna Lekshmi Special Meal at lunch, which also wasn’t very impressive. Overall, if you’re looking for a peaceful place to eat, this works — otherwise, you can find tastier options elsewhere. As there were not many good family restaurants nearby, we gave this place another chance on the second night. We tried the Mushroom 65 fried rice and paneer chili. Though the paneer chili was good, the mushroom fried rice was not even tasty. To make matters worse, we saw a rat below a nearby sofa. Definitely not recommended.

Padmanabhapuram Palace, located in Thuckalay near Kanyakumari, is a grand complex showcasing the finest traditional Keralan architecture. Built in the 16th century by the Travancore dynasty's Ravipillai Perumal, it boasts intricately carved rosewood ceilings and polished-teak beams.
Visited the Padmanabhapuram Palace, and it was truly impressive! 🏰 The palace showcases beautiful wooden architecture, antique interiors, and traditional Kerala design. Each room tells a story of history and royal life. The carvings and craftsmanship are amazing. However, the palace area is quite large, so it takes some time to explore — but it’s definitely worth it. The surroundings are peaceful and well maintained. A must-visit spot for anyone interested in heritage and history! 🌿✨

Padmanabhapuram Palace is a breathtaking architectural marvel that showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of Kerala. Located in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari district, this stunning wooden palace is a must-visit destination for history buffs and architecture enthusiasts. Highlights: Exquisite Woodwork: The palace features intricate wooden carvings and craftsmanship that will leave you mesmerized. Historical Significance: Built in the 16th century, the palace served as the capital of the Travancore kingdom and offered a glimpse into the region's royal past. Well-Maintained: Despite being a popular tourist spot, the palace is well-maintained by the Kerala government, ensuring a pleasant experience for visitors. Informations: Best Time to Visit: Plan your visit between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM or 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM to avoid crowds. Entry may temporary closed in noon. Dress Code: Wear comfortable footwear, as you'll need to remove them before entering. Camera Fee: Be prepared to pay an additional fee for camera usage. (Applicable for mobile cams as well)

The seven-acre palace near Thuckalay is surrounded by hills, rivers, and waterfalls, making it very scenic. Interestingly, even though the palace is in Tamil Nadu, it is owned by the Kerala Government. Locals say that outside the palace is Tamil Nadu, but stepping inside takes you into Kerala. The Kerala Government has hired young staff trained in archaeology, which helps tourists enjoy the visit more. Mostly made of wood, the palace has beautiful murals, carvings, relics, and black granite floors. Built over 400 years ago, it is the largest wooden palace in Asia.

We visited Padmanabhapuram Palace on a Saturday holiday and reached around 9 AM. It wasn’t very crowded, which made the visit more peaceful. The palace is truly an archaeological wonder — beautifully preserved and full of history. Definitely a must-visit at least once! It’s easily accessible from Trivandrum, and there’s plenty of space for car parking, so no worries there. However, there aren’t many good restaurants nearby, so it’s better to plan your food in advance. Overall, a great experience for history and architecture lovers
Afsal R — Google review
It’s a big palace and easily takes 2+ hrs to cover. However, it would be difficult for elders to climb the stairs in this palace. There are too many and are steep. Would be good if they instruct this while issuing the ticket. Paid restrooms are here for 5₹ per head but could be maintained better. We went on a Saturday and lot of schools are bringing children to this place as a day trip.
Kiruba S — Google review
Supposedly Asia’s largest wooden palace from the Travencore era. The palace is situated in Tamil Nadu, but still owned and maintained by the archeological department of Kerala, even after the reorganization of Kanyakumari district from Kerala to Tamil Nadu. It’s is well preserved, painting of artworks and maintenance done as needed. The palace is sprawling and displays Kerala style architecture. Good to visit! Caution: foot wear isn’t allowed inside the palace, walking around barefoot in the hot sun may burn feet 👣 🙂. Good to visit during early hours of the day, as crowd starts to swell past 11 AM.
Vijay M — Google review
Palace of Travancore dynasty which is now maintained by Kerala government. Well maintained. Parking fee of Rs. 10 for 2 wheelers and 50 for 4 wheelers are collected by local people. Ticket charges cost 50+ 10 rupees for Mobile camera. Photography is permitted but videography is not allowed. You'll get to see intricately carved sculptures and ceilings. Only 2 out of 4 storeys are accessible for visitors. The original mural paintings and Marthanda Varma's sword are all kept there, which is not permitted to see. Canteen was fine. The pay and use toilet in the compound was of very poor condition.
Vrunda V — Google review
I really loved this palace! To explore the entire palace and museum properly, you’ll need at least an hour. There’s so much to see and discover — don’t miss the museum, it’s worth it! The palace is managed by the Kerala government, and I appreciated that photography is allowed everywhere. The only downside was the parking situation. There’s no official parking area, so you’ll have to park along the roadside and pay ₹50 to local people — not to the palace authorities.

Mathoor Aqueduct, also known as the Mathoor Hanging Trough, is a remarkable elevated concrete bridge built by Kamaraj for carrying water across the landscape. The aqueduct offers a stunning 1.5-kilometer walkway with breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and river below. Visitors can enjoy a sense of adventure while marveling at the natural water flow over rocks and even take a dip in the river.
Mathoor Aqueduct is truly an engineering marvel and a must-visit spot in Kanyakumari district. The tall structure built across the hills offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding green valleys and flowing rivers. Walking across the aqueduct feels exciting and a little adventurous as you get to enjoy the cool breeze and scenic beauty all around. The natural charm of coconut groves and villages below makes it even more picturesque. It is not only a sightseeing destination but also a place where you can admire the blend of nature and human creation. A peaceful and memorable experience for travelers.

Built in 1960s, to make water flow from a hill top to adjacent hill top - viaduct. The beauty is a gushing river flowing in below valley across under the viaduct, Holds a record as the tallest and longest in Asia when commissioned in 1969. Stunning views Will be thrilling once you walk on the bridge from one end to other end -as well very scenic to see the surroundings from that height. The wind also will be strong while walking at that height From the end one can get down through the stairs and see the beauty from below and astonish the height of way you walked a while ago. People with acrophobia may ensure precautions The bridge would be nearly 1 KM long and 115 ft high

It's a unique tourist spot which allows you to walk the length of the water channel and have a mesmerizing view of the greens around. Long weekend traffic and people can get very high in numbers so plan accordingly. If you get down on the other side then the way back up has lots of steps so be mindful of that. There's a small pond below where you can get in and have bath or fun in the water but that too can get crowded. Lots of small shops selling tea/coffee and fruits are there. The humidity is unbearable so wear a wet bandana around your neck and extremely light t shirts or tops/bottoms.

Mathoor Aqueduct is a scenic and peaceful spot with breathtaking views of the river and surrounding landscape. Walking along the aqueduct is a unique experience, perfect for photography. We also bought some fresh pineapples nearby they were sweet and delicious! Basic facilities like toilets and seating areas could be improved, and parking is limited. Overall, a great place for nature lovers and a relaxing visit.

Constructed as a drought relief mechanism for water to flow from one hill to the another. Can walk through the entire stretch on the top of the aqueduct, has stunning view of hills on both sides and a deep view of a river flowing below. The probable best time to visit is early morning or after 4PM, around sunrise or sunset could have the best sky colors. Other times during the day could be exhausting; scorching heat 🥵 and pouring sweat 😓
Vijay M — Google review
This is one of the engineering wonders in Tamilnadu. But when we went there, it was under maintenance and were asked to get down, go around and then climb the bridge again to see the aqueduct. Would be difficult for elders to do it. And on the other side, it could be maintained better as there were lot of garbage around. Nevertheless, Beautiful place.
Kiruba S — Google review
Mathur Aqueduct is one of the longest aqueduct in Asia and in TN. Once you walk and reach centre of duct, one can see vast expanse of greenery, with rolling hills of the Western Ghats in the background, along with meandering river flowing below. The view is ecstatic during sunset. Only issue is bit problem of connectivity....

Vattakottai Fort, also known as the 'Circular Fort', is a well-preserved 18th-century seaside fort located near Kanyakumari, India's southernmost tip. Constructed mainly from granite blocks, the fort extends into the sea and offers sweeping beach views. The site features lush green lawns and well-maintained structures, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely evening walk or family outing.
It's a Beautiful place to visit near Kanyakumari. We took reserved auto(no share auto). It took rs. 600/- pick and drop(including 1hr waiting as per auto driver version) from the main chawk area near Gandhi mandapam. You can also have bus, but it won't come upto the fort. It will drop you at the chawraha near the fort and you have to take auto at rs.100/- from there. You can also walk upto fort entrance which is not too far. Probably it will take 10-15mints walk from the drop of the the bus. Do keep water bottle and umbrella, sunglasses are the must . You do have to pay for tickets . The ticket counter is at the parking area( left side of yours when you will get down from the reserved vehicle) . Personally I don't find the way to go to the vattakotai beach which is known black sand-beach. Overall it's a beautiful place.

A small but beautiful fort with fantastic sea views. A very peaceful place to spend an hour. Great for a quick visit if you're in the Kanyakumari area. Parking was easy and the entry fee is minimal. This historical fort is a must-visit if you are interested in the region's past. Maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), it's in good condition and you can really get a sense of its coastal defense purpose. It's a peaceful and well-kept site that offers both a glimpse into history and a tranquil natural setting. It's over 2 km inside from main road.

Sunset Point in Kanyakumari is where the sky meets the soul—an unforgettable spectacle of nature’s poetry painted in hues of gold, crimson, and violet. Nestled at the southernmost tip of India, Sunset Point in Kanyakumari offers a rare and mesmerizing view where the sun dips into the confluence of three majestic water bodies—the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean. This unique geographical marvel transforms every sunset into a celestial performance, with the horizon ablaze in color and the waves whispering stories of the day’s end.
Mushahid H — Google review
Watching the sunset at Kanyakumari was one of the most beautiful and peaceful moments of my trip. It’s truly special to stand at the southernmost tip of India, where the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean meet — and see the sun slowly sink into the horizon. The sky changes colors every few minutes — from golden orange to pink and deep purple — and it feels like nature’s own painting. The atmosphere is calm yet filled with quiet excitement as people gather to watch. You can hear the sound of waves, the sea breeze on your face, and for a few moments, everything feels still. It’s one of those rare places where you just stand and feel grateful. It can get a little crowded during peak hours, so it’s best to reach early and find a good spot near the shore. The area is clean and well-maintained, and there are small stalls around selling snacks and tea — perfect for enjoying while you wait for the sunset. Even though I’ve seen many sunsets, the one at Kanyakumari felt different — maybe because it’s where the three seas meet, or maybe because there’s something truly magical about this place. Either way, it’s an experience you shouldn’t miss.

It’s peaceful, scenic, and perfect for photography or just soaking in the view. Best time to visit is around 5:30–6:30 PM. Arrive a bit early to grab a good spot and enjoy the vibrant sky before the sun dips. Don’t miss it — it’s the perfect way to end your Kanyakumari trip! 🌊✨

Mayapuri Wonder Wax is a unique museum located within the Baywatch water park, offering an enjoyable indoor activity for individuals and families. The museum showcases lifelike wax figures of both Indian and international celebrities, including Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, Rabindranath Tagore, Michael Jackson, and Mother Teresa. Additionally, visitors can admire a variety of interesting three-dimensional paintings within the museum.
We had an amazing time. The wax figures were incredibly lifelike and detailed, making it feel like I was stepping into a real-life scene. The exhibits were well-curated, showcasing a range of famous personalities and characters. I loved the interactive elements and photo opportunities at 3D painting. A Memorable Family Visit to the Wax Museum!! We recently visited the wax museum with our family, and it turned out to be a delightful experience for everyone. The exhibits were engaging, and the staff truly made the visit special. They were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to assist us, especially while taking photos with the 3D installations. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made the outing even more enjoyable. 📸 Photo & Video Add-ons - For those looking to capture dynamic memories, there's a 360° rotatable photo stand available at an extra cost of Rs.100—well worth it for a fun video keepsake. - You can also choose themed backgrounds like mountains, flowers, or Disney characters for your photos at Rs.60 extra, which adds a creative flair to your snapshots. 🎥 A Note to the Owner While the overall experience was fantastic, we’d like to share a small suggestion regarding the 9D Theatre and VR section. Currently, the content leans heavily towards horror themes. While this may appeal to some adults, it can be unsettling for children. We recommend considering adventure or fantasy-based videos instead, which would be more family-friendly and still immersive. This small change could make the museum even more inclusive and enjoyable for all age groups. Overall, it was a fun-filled and memorable outing. Highly recommended for families looking for an engaging indoor experience!

The VR experience was quite good. It costs ₹400 per adult, and it's free for children under 5. The 9D experience was especially immersive and left a strong impression on visitors. The wax museum was average, but the 3D art room was enjoyable the staff there was helpful and even assisted in taking photos. It was actually empty on a weekday afternoon but the staff are well organized
Saravanan S — Google review
But costly with limited wax statue. One can take photos with all statues. There is a 3d photo section which comes with ticket where staff will help to take photo will be good. Also there is pay and use 3d animation movie and background changa photo frames addition to the entry ticket. Nearby railway station. We can spend 1-2 hours.
Shrinivas V — Google review
An average wax museum with 9d video show, car dash racing with pvr adventure show The worst part is it's 120 for just a 5mins experience which should be 30-50s at max The wax museum is okaish.. they tried to make it perfect but amitabh bachan and shahruk are far than real! I felt they have huge margins which are massed on to the tour and travels to get people onboarded! Like who will pay 500 pp for half an hour experience in total 4 shows
Sourav N — Google review
It was a really wonderful experience. All the wax statues were amazing and gave us a feel of seeing those legends in person. We, especially kids, really enjoyed other activities like dashing car, VR, 3D gallery, 360°camera etc. The drawback was the lack of maintenance, that's why giving 4 stars.

Zam Zam Restaurant in Kanyakumari is a popular choice for those seeking halal dining options. It's known for its wide variety of cuisines and welcoming ambiance, making it a top pick among visitors adhering to strict halal culture. The restaurant offers an unparalleled dining experience with exceptional service and an extensive array of delectable dishes. Guests can expect warm hospitality, tasteful decor, and comfortable seating arrangements upon entering the restaurant.
Zamzam never disappoints! The biriyani is aromatic, the fried rice is perfectly seasoned, and the chicken 65 is crispy and flavorful. A must-visit for food lovers!"
Mohamed F — Google review
I came for the good reviews on TripAdvisor and Google Maps, but in the end I was totally disappointed when the fries arrive they were cold like they’ve been sat on the side for 10-20 mins. The Shahwarma meat was tasty and crispy, but it had more stone cold stale fries on it and I found a number of hairs inside it which was quite disgusting. I expressed how I was unhappy to the staff, but I didn’t really feel heard and they were trying to tell me that everything was good and fine, and it was cold because of the air-conditioning 😅!!. They reheated my fries, but they just cooked the same stale fries again and gave them back to me overcooked and dripping in oil.

We tried the masala chicken with naan and roti—and absolutely loved it! 🍗🥘 The flavors were rich and satisfying. While the prices were a bit on the higher side (surprisingly, naan and roti cost more than the chicken!), the taste made it worth it. If you're okay with spending a little extra for good food, this place won’t disappoint. Great spot for a flavorful meal with friends or family!

Disappointed with the taste, despite seeing all the positive reviews. Had Thandoori chicken and chicken tikka. Service was good.

My friends from kerala came to visit Kanyakumari and I tagged along. They asked me where can we have lunch... all I thought of was zam zam restaurant. I saw lot of promotional videos and thought this would be a good place to dine in for lunch. Entered happily and left with disappointment. Their menu looks like a magazine but half of the dishes they say not available . Mandhi is available only on weekends.. Biryani was below average. It was just the normal tamilnadu style biryani served with raita, brinjal curry and bread halwa. Nothing great. Tandoori was just ok. Why all the overhyped promotions just for an average food? When you invite vloggers for promotions don't you know to give details about mandhi will be available on weekend. Best biryani in Kanyakumari.. what a joke.. Service was slow. We need to call the servers again and remind them about our orders, else they just go away leaving us unheard. Totally a disappointment. Only the bread Halwa was good in what I had in zamzam.

One of the best non veg restaurants in Kanyakumari. They have AC dining for 30 plus people. Most of the seats are family sized so couples will find it difficult to get a seat especially during peak hours. They is a long waiting line during holidays. We ordered Chicken Shawayya (Rotisserie Chicken), Paneer butter masala, Kerala Porotta, Chappathy, Mint lime and Watermelon juice. The food was great. There are also vegetarian options. The pricing is decent compared to nearby 'Saravana Bhavan'. They accept cash, card and UPI.
Subin B — Google review
We group of 8 people family had lunch at ZamZam. We ordered Dragon chicken, Chettinad chicken, beef curry, chicken lollipop, gee rice, thantoori roti, naan, veg salad. Food is very tasty. Definitely recommended for family. Ice creams and juices all really very tasty. Only issue is no parking for cars. We parked in the roadside.

Good biryani and nice atmosphere, but please teach your workers how to handle food properly. I noticed that while serving the biryani pot, their fingers were touching the food. It’s quite unpleasant. These are basic hygiene and civic sense practices.

Sree Aditti Bhavan is a popular dining spot in Kanyakumari, known for its fantastic and tasty food. Situated conveniently on the main road highways, it offers ample parking space. While some visitors have noted that the servers can be unattentive, others have praised the South Indian meals and the excellent staff behavior. The restaurant also provides clean washrooms, making it a comfortable dining experience for all guests.
We stopped here during our journey to Kanyakumari. The place offers both open-air and indoor dining spaces.Very spacious esp the outdoor space! The food was decent and suitable for travelers — we tried the masala dosa, double omelette, and coffee, which were all fine. What truly stood out was the cleanliness of the place, especially the well-maintained toilets — a big relief during long road trips. The surroundings were neat, and there was plenty of parking space, making it a convenient stop. Customer service, however, was average and quite slow, needs improvement. Overall, it’s a good option if cleanliness and parking convenience are your priorities.

Stopped here during our journey along the Kanyakumari-Madurai highway. The food was okay – nothing special but decent for travelers. The highlight of this place is its cleanliness, especially the well-maintained toilets, which are a big relief during long trips. The atmosphere was clean, and there’s ample parking space, making it a convenient stop. However, there were a few letdowns. The air-conditioner was present but not turned on, which made the dining experience a bit uncomfortable, especially in the heat. Customer service was average and could definitely use some improvement. A decent place if you prioritize cleanliness and parking,
Ananthu B — Google review
The food was great and full of flabpur... The waiters there were extremely friendly and helpful.. Definitely recommend this restaurant
Yuveen R — Google review
The usp of the hotel is you will see the ads across show casing the clean toilets. Yes and it does work as Kanyakumari seems to be lacking clean toilet facilities. So this is a win for the hotel and that is what attracts people to visit the place. The food and service is also decent. The restaurant has a good mix of cuisine. It blends well with the local cuisine and North Indian cuisine as well. They have a great coffee place as well for folks who need a good coffee break. The restaurant is abuzz during the lunch time. It is away from the main Kanyakumari area. So best to plan a little ahead of you want to hit the place for lunch or dinner. It is on the highway road with a little drive to reach the place as depending on the route taken you might have to drive across to cut through the median in the highway to reach the place.

Wanted to give a big ZERO rating Came as a family to have lunch: 1. Provided one glass(tumbler) per table 2. Chicken Briyani we ordered, and they didn't provided any raita or gravy for that 2. Worst biriyani served(spoiled one) and no replacement provided on complaints 3. For unlimited meals, no white rice provided after second serve 4. White rice not cooked properly 5. Rude behaviour of staffs and severing staffs quarrel with customer mentioning customer is drunken Please don't make choice of having food here worst ever experience with this restaurant

Day 3

West side of town
For day 3, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Kanyakumari Beach, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Thiruvalluvar Statue. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Outdoor Activities
Kanyakumari Beach, situated at the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula, offers breathtaking views of sunsets and moonrises over the confluence of three seas: the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and Arabian Sea. The rocky shoreline provides a picturesque setting for leisurely strolls while listening to the unique sound of waves. Visitors can savor local cuisine and explore nearby temples. It is best to visit during December and January to avoid extreme heat and humidity.
We had a memorable visit to Kanyakumari with my family during my annual vacation. It’s truly a place where nature’s beauty meets cultural richness. Watching the sunrise at the southern tip of India, where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean meet, was an unforgettable moment. The crowd had already gathered early in the morning, and everyone waited eagerly for that first golden ray to appear. The sight of the rising sun reflecting on the ocean waves was simply breathtaking. After the sunrise, we spent time exploring the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue, both of which stand proudly in the middle of the sea. The short ferry ride added to the excitement, giving us a closer view of these iconic landmarks. Later, we walked around the beach area, visited a few temples, and enjoyed the sea breeze while shopping for beautiful seashell crafts and souvenirs from the local stalls. We also tried some Kanyakumari special dishes — especially the seafood varieties — which were fresh, spicy, and full of local flavors. However, one disappointing part of the trip was our experience with some photographers near the beach. They approached us offering photo packages, promising quick editing and special backgrounds. But after collecting the payment, things didn’t go as expected. Once the editing was done, someone else handed over our photos, not the person who took them, and the results were far from what was promised. It felt like a bit of cheating and mismanagement, which spoiled an otherwise joyful moment. Despite that issue, the trip overall was amazing — full of scenic beauty, cultural experiences, and family memories that we’ll always cherish. Kanyakumari truly remains one of the most peaceful and inspiring destinations in India.

Visiting Kanyakumari Beach is an experience like no other. The beach stretches along the southernmost tip of India, where the Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean meet. The shoreline is unique — a mix of sand and rocks, giving it a raw, untouched charm. Walking along the beach while listening to the waves crash against the rocks is incredibly calming 🌬️🌊. The beach is perfect for watching both sunrise and sunset 🌞🌇. Sunrise over the Bay of Bengal is magical, and sunset views are equally stunning. There are small local stalls nearby selling snacks and souvenirs 🐚🍴, but the beach itself feels peaceful and not overcrowded most of the time. It’s not ideal for swimming 🚫🏊, but excellent for photography 📸, quiet reflection, or simply enjoying the natural beauty. Kanyakumari Beach is a must-visit for anyone traveling to the southern tip of India — a place where nature feels endless and awe-inspiring. 💙

A must-visit destination for anyone exploring the beauty and culture of South India.

Standing at the edge of the pier, you can see the vast endless ocean, making it a surreal experience. Unlike the main tourist spots, the pier is relatively calm, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. One should be careful of the strong wind, especially near the edges of the pier. The breeze is refreshing, but at times, it can be quite powerful, making it important to hold onto your belongings and stay cautious while enjoying the breathtaking views

Kanyakumari Shri Tirupathi Temple is a moderately big and well-maintained temple that offers a peaceful spot to pay respects to Lord Venkateswarar. The temple is not crowded, and there's no entry fee required. Visitors can capture stunning photos of the shrine, especially in broad daylight when the roof appears golden.
This temple in Kanyakumari is very nice and calm—a truly peaceful place to visit. The darshan experience is pleasant and uplifting, and I felt very happy during my time here. If visiting Kanyakumari, this is a must-see spot; words cannot fully describe the feeling of being here. The view from outside the mandir is beautiful, with scenic vistas of the sea and landmarks like Vivekananda Rock. The best time to visit is morning or evening, when the atmosphere is most serene.

Visiting the Shri Tirupati Temple in Kanyakumari was a peaceful and uplifting experience. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and offers the same divine atmosphere as the famous Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, but in a more serene, less crowded setting. The architecture of the temple is beautiful — traditional South Indian style with finely carved pillars, a majestic gopuram, and detailed sculptures that reflect devotion and craftsmanship. The entire complex is clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by lush greenery, which adds to the calm and sacred feeling of the place. What I loved most was the quiet and orderly atmosphere. The priests and temple staff are polite and guide devotees with respect. The darshan was peaceful — no rush, no pushing crowds — allowing me to truly take in the spiritual energy of the shrine. The deity of Lord Venkateswara here is beautifully adorned and radiates such a powerful, serene presence. The temple is located slightly away from the main town area, so it’s less commercial and feels very pure. Watching the temple glow under the evening lamps was a beautiful sight — simple yet divine. Overall, the Kanyakumari Shri Tirupati Temple is a wonderful place for anyone seeking peace, devotion, and a moment of connection with the divine. It’s not just a temple visit — it feels like a quiet blessing away from the noise of everyday life.

A very peaceful and divine temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, beautifully maintained and offering a spiritual experience similar to Tirupati. The temple’s architecture and sanctity create a truly serene atmosphere, and darshan here is calm without the long queues found in Tirupati. The deity’s idol is majestic and gives devotees the same sacred feel of visiting the original Tirupati temple. The surroundings are clean, the staff are helpful, and there is ample space for devotees to spend time in prayer. The temple is a must-visit for those who may not be able to travel all the way to Andhra Pradesh but still wish to experience Lord Balaji’s blessings in Tamil Nadu. Morning and evening aarti bring an especially divine ambience.Overall, a wonderful and blissful place for devotees, combining spirituality with peaceful surroundings.

Mahatma Gandhi Mandapam is a prominent pink memorial building located in Kanyakumari, offering stunning views of the sea. It was built to honor Mahatma Gandhi and stands at the site where one of the 12 urns containing his ashes was kept for public homage after his passing. The memorial also features a collection of photographs showcasing Mahatma Gandhi's life and legacy.
A fine memorial museum decicated to The Father of Our Nation , located on a beautiful seashore which he had visited and written about . After his cremation, a part of his ashes too were consigned to the ocean at this place . The huge hall is a very peaceful place to sit in silence and think about the life and teachings of this great man . Many rare photos from his life are exhibited as also his sayings . Outside , we find an installation with statues of Gandhi and Kamaraja against a backdrop of gushing waves . A must visit for all . Actually it was accidently we visited here because of delay in boat service to Vivekanandana Rock. Due to the delay in time of boat service, we decide to go here. It was great experience here, Good peaceful atmosphere here. We can experience Great views of Vivekandana Rock and sea from the top of the building. We have taken many of great photos of kanyakumari sea from this spot. There is also a park facilities for children. Better to go on morning time before the heavy sunlight, because the park is on open space. It is not partically possible for children to enjoy their rides on park on extremely hot climate conditions. Must go there you won't regret it. Also there is many photo frames inside, that shows about our Mahatma Gandhi ji 😍.

Visited the Mahatma Gandhi Mandapam in Kanyakumari and it was truly a peaceful experience. The architecture is unique, built so that sunlight falls exactly on the spot where Gandhi’s ashes were kept before immersion. The atmosphere inside feels calm, almost sacred, and the view of the sea outside adds to the beauty. A must-visit place for history lovers and anyone seeking a quiet moment of reflection.

“Gandhi Mandapam is a peaceful and historic place near Kanyakumari Beach, built in memory of Mahatma Gandhi. The architecture is unique, with a special design that allows sunlight to fall exactly on the spot where Gandhi’s ashes were kept before immersion. The place is calm, well-maintained, and gives a sense of respect and serenity. From the upper floors, you also get nice views of the sea and surrounding monuments. A must-visit for those interested in history and culture while exploring Kanyakumari.”

A peaceful tribute to the Father of the Nation The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (Gandhi Mandapam) in Kanniyakumari is one of the most serene and thoughtfully designed landmarks in India. Nestled right by the seashore, this memorial beautifully captures the essence of Gandhiji’s life — simplicity, peace, and purpose. Built at the very spot where one of the urns containing Gandhi’s ashes was kept before immersion, the memorial is not just an architectural wonder but a sacred reminder of India’s greatest son. The central pink structure stands 79 feet tall, representing the Mahatma’s age at the time of his passing. Designed in the Orissan architectural style, the building is ingeniously constructed so that on October 2nd, Gandhi’s birthday, the sun’s rays fall exactly on the spot where his ashes were placed — a truly remarkable alignment that symbolizes eternal light and remembrance. Inside, you’ll find photographs, writings, and depictions of key moments from Gandhi’s life and India’s freedom struggle — offering both inspiration and insight. Despite being close to the bustling tourist areas of Kanniyakumari, the memorial itself feels calm and meditative, with the gentle sound of the waves enhancing its tranquil atmosphere. 📍 Tip: Visit around sunrise or sunset for a breathtaking view of the sea behind the memorial — the soft light makes the entire place glow. It’s also just a short walk from other major attractions like Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar Statue, making it easy to include in your Kanyakumari itinerary. A must-visit for anyone who wants to feel the quiet strength and simplicity that defined Mahatma Gandhi’s life.

Our Lady of Ransom Shrine, also known as Lady of Ransom Church, is a stunning Catholic church located in Kanyakumari. The Gothic Revival architectural style of the pearl-white exterior makes it a captivating sight for visitors. The church features simple stained glasswork on its doors and windows, a gold altar adorned with a statue of Mother Mary, intricately carved idols of Christ, disciples, and soldiers.
I visited this church recently. It is very beautiful and very nice. The church is located at the sea shore near Kanyakumari. I went inside the church to pray and it was so peaceful. There was a gentle breeze as I was enjoying the calm environment. Birds were chirping and I loved it. You can definitely visit the historic place and enjoy some peaceful time there ❣️

Visited on today morning. A small thatched church was upgraded in 1700 when a big church of Roman architecture was constructed. A statue of Mother Mary was created in the 16th century derived in Rome. The statue, clad with a sari, was placed in the centre of a golden altar . Statues of St. Joseph and St. Francis Xavier were placed in the right side and left side respectively

Definitely worth a visit if you’re exploring Kanyakumari and want to take some time for peace and prayer.

Our Lady of Ransom Church in Kanyakumari is a stunning example of Gothic architecture and deep faith. Built in the early 1900s, it stands majestically by the sea with its tall white spires and intricate stained glass. The church’s rich history traces back to St. Francis Xavier’s visit in 1542, blending European style with Tamil devotion. Its peaceful atmosphere, golden chariot procession during the annual feast, and symbolic design make it both a spiritual and architectural treasure. A must-visit for anyone exploring the southern tip of India.

I recently visited the Shine of Our Lady Church in Kanyakumari, and honestly, it felt like one of the calmest and most peaceful spots in the area. The church is not very flashy from the outside, but the moment you step in, the atmosphere changes completely. It has that quiet, soothing vibe where you just feel like sitting for a while without rushing anywhere. The interior is simple yet very graceful. The altar looks beautiful, and the whole place gives you a sense of comfort. What I liked the most was how open and airy it felt, with the sunlight coming through the windows and giving it a warm glow. I saw both locals and travelers spending time in prayer, and no one was in a hurry. It’s the kind of place where you can just pause and feel at peace. The location is also great because it’s close to the sea, so you can hear the waves faintly in the background if you step outside. After visiting the crowded tourist spots in Kanyakumari, coming here was a refreshing break. It doesn’t feel commercial or overrun with people, which I really appreciated. If you’re visiting Kanyakumari, I’d say don’t skip this church. Whether you’re religious or not, it’s worth a visit just for the calmness it brings. Sometimes you don’t need big attractions—just a quiet corner like this is enough to make the trip memorable.

The Thiruvalluvar Statue is a monumental 40-meter-high statue and pedestal located on a small island near the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari. It is dedicated to the eminent Tamil poet and philosopher, Saint Thiruvalluvar, who composed 1330 profound seven-worded couplets known as Thirukkural. This work emphasizes virtues such as duty, kindness, wealth, charity, gratitude, and love for all classes of people in society.
The Thiruvalluvar Statue in Kanyakumari is one of the most iconic monuments in Tamil Nadu, standing majestically at the southern tip of India, where the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean converge. This massive stone structure is dedicated to the celebrated Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar, the author of the Thirukkural, an ancient work of Tamil literature that offers timeless wisdom on ethics, politics, and love. The statue rises to a height of 133 feet, symbolizing the 133 chapters of the Thirukkural. It stands on a 38-foot pedestal known as the Mandapam, which represents the 38 chapters of virtue (Aram). Together, the pedestal and statue reach a height of 161 feet, making it one of the tallest statues in India. The structure was designed by Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati and was inaugurated on 1 January 2000 to mark the new millennium. The monument is constructed using stone and concrete, reflecting both artistic elegance and engineering brilliance. The figure of Thiruvalluvar is portrayed in a thoughtful stance, with one hand pointing skyward, symbolizing higher ideals, and the other resting by his side, signifying practical wisdom. Visitors reach the statue by ferry services from the mainland, which also connect to the nearby Vivekananda Rock Memorial. The location offers a breathtaking view of the vast ocean and serves as a reminder of Tamil culture’s philosophical depth. The Thiruvalluvar Statue is not only a tribute to a legendary poet but also a cultural landmark that inspires values of morality, righteousness, and harmony.

Kanyakumari is a truly mesmerizing place where nature, history, and spirituality blend beautifully. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the ocean from the same spot is a unique and unforgettable experience. The Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar Statue are both iconic landmarks worth visiting — peaceful, inspiring, and scenic. The confluence of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean is stunning to witness. The town is clean, the locals are warm and welcoming, and there's a calm spiritual vibe everywhere. Street food is great too, especially the fresh coconut water and local snacks. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind, explore Indian culture, or just enjoy coastal beauty. I'd definitely love to return!

The Thiruvalluvar Statue is a must-visit in Kanyakumari. Tall and majestic, it stands beautifully by the sea. The boat ride to reach it is exciting, and the sunrise view from there is simply unforgettable.

I visited this place on 5th October 2025. There was a big crowd, so I suggest not buying tickets online in advance — it’s better to get them directly at the spot. It’s a nice place to visit and enjoy the moment. However, the glass floor recently installed by the government was disappointing — the quality looks quite poor and needs improvement. Hope the authorities take note and make it better. Overall, a good experience at the Thiruvalluvar Statue, Kanyakumari — definitely worth visiting once! 🌊🌅

The 133-foot Thiruvalluvar statue, situated on a small rock at the confluence of three seas in Kanyakumari, presents a truly awe-inspiring and magnificent sight. 🤩🌊🗿 The glass bridge connecting the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar statue enhances the visitor experience, accessible via a single boat ride from the shore. 🌉🚢😊

The Thiruvalluvar Statue is an iconic landmark that adds immense beauty and pride to Kanyakumari. The boat ride to the monument is enjoyable, and standing near the massive statue gives a breathtaking view of the endless ocean all around. The craftsmanship, peaceful surroundings, and the perfect blend of history and scenic charm make this spot unforgettable. A must-visit attraction along with the Vivekananda Memorial.

Hotel Annapoorna in Kanyakumari offers a pleasant surprise with its authentic Chinese dishes, bringing the taste of China to your plate. While it is located near the Kanyakumari temple and offers good food, there are opportunities for improvement in terms of ambience and overall taste. The hotel is known as one of the best places for a vegetarian breakfast, especially for its delicious dosa and idli.
Best place to have veg break fast. We had Dosa for my daughter. She ate full Dosa for the first time. And the manager is awesome in his reception. We asked french fries but he told no we don't have that option but other than that Dosa taste was yummy

Food was Good. The thing which made me angry was service. They brought the wrong food. We can ignore that if that happened only one time. Guess what our neighbouring customers experienced the same problem. We had no choice as there was no time we had to adjust. When you find a good restaurant, you expect a lot and order your favourite food and when you find that you don't get what you ordered then it makes you angry. Hope they improve in this aspect. Mistakes happen but there is a scope for improvement after all food was good. Little expensive I felt. That's why I gave 2 stars. I would have given 4. If food was not good then I would have given 1 star.

We had a bad experience with the staff at front office reception. Today 20.10.2025 at around 1700hrs, we visited this restaurant with family consists ofv 4 adults and a kid, by an Alto car. Sooner we entered, three of the staff at reception, signalling among themselves with eye language and passed some adverse comments. We objected immediately and they said that, our owner used to come by this car and so we laughed. Then while going out after food at 1900 hrs, I enquired to that person (person in blue shirt) , he said that he is the manager and will take action. This said manager was also one among the three. I expect the owner or the management are genuine and take corrective action, so that the same will not happen with other guest.

The food was very tasty, specially the king fish platter and the fish biriyani. The sea food was fresh and delicious. We had some issues with the French fries, it was cold, but they replaced with a fresh batch immediately without even asking. The ambience and service were impeccable. We would love to visit again if we are in Kanyakumari next.

Except the view nothing is good about this place. Their price is so expensive and the quantity of food is very less. No proper communication from staff, they blame it on management. Food was not even average. We order one piece of Kingfish and what we got was a small portion which will not be enough for a kid and the cost was 450 plus tax. Overhyped placed due to social media. I think these are paid promotions across insta or FB. Not worth really. Please think 3 times before going and blowing up your travel expenses for rusty food.

I have stayed this hotel recently. I check the hotel rating and booked this hotel. Unfortunately the hotel was very unclean and the rooms are not up to the mark. While booking they told me, have complimentary breakfast. But the breakfast was not ready till 9.00 am They don’t have any buffet system and the hotel is very unclean. Bathroom was not at all cleaned and will ask them to come and clean, they will not come, instead ask money to clean the room. I am not at all recommending this hotel for stay. Still I have astonished how they got this much rating in make my trip. Also the hotel staff make fun of their guests when requesting for any services. This is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. I recommend to please not allow people to stay in such hotels at any cost.

Very costly with the provided amenities. No Hot water. No breakfast. Only good one is Mattress. For that proper pricing should be somewhere around Rs.1100 to 1200 . But they charged Rs. 1800 + 50 Tips = Rs. 1850. Google shows as 3 star hotel.? I have not been to 3 star hotel earlier, Not sure if this is what the real 3 star is. 🤔 It is just a normal hotel. However I give 2 star.

Clean- spacious rooms, early check in was accomodated by the receptionist reasonably charged but unable to give 10/10 because of one personnel ( the aged person especially during the night shift times always seemed to have a frown on his face. Looked absolutely constipated. He told us that the parking space in front of the hotel was reserved for cars and we had to park the bike at the basement of the hotel. Our bike is actually more expensive than a regular hatch back car. Wonder why such step motherly attitude towards bikes. Either people should be familiar of the difference between vehicles or have a first come first serve basis rule instead adapting a blindly biased attitude is not actually hospitable especially in the hotel industry.

I stayed here for 2 days. The location and overall stay were average. The hotel is close to the railway station, but it’s quite far from Kanyakumari Temple and the beach—you need to book an auto to reach them, which turned out to be expensive for me. I recommend staying near the Amma Temple area so that you can walk to the sunrise point, Triveni Sangam, and Vivekananda Memorial, and save on auto charges. Another important point: there are no vegetarian hotels near this property, but you’ll find many vegetarian restaurants near the temple.

Sunset at end of Indian mainland is an experience. The view point is well maintained and ample car parking space . Suggestions An initial fees is collected and then you are guided to sunset view point I will say look up sunset time, get 20 to 30 mins earlier and park before the sunset view point. You can walk from the first parking area to sunset view point in 10 to 15 mins. Parking near view point is charged additional. Nicely maintained and lots of small shops too to try some food.

Experienced a beautiful sunset at sunset point kanniyakumari. Sunset was so stunning with sky painted in orange and pink colour. Stone benches also there to sit & relax and enjoy the sunset. If you go earlier that before 5.30pm to that place. You can get to sit a last bench, and it's a perfect spot to take photos. But the place is not clean. People throw plastic bottles and papers everywhere. Government should take care of it and clear that . And should place dustbins. It's near to the parking. The sunset view is truly mesmerizing, with the sky painted in shades of orange, pink, and gold as the sun slowly dips below the horizon. The calm surroundings and gentle breeze enhance the beauty, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Watching the sunset is a perfect moment to reflect, take photographs, or simply enjoy nature’s splendor. The changing colors of the sky, the silhouette of trees or mountains, and the serene environment make it an unforgettable experience, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who witnesses the breathtaking sight.

Jain temple

The Mahavirswami Jain Temple Dadawadi in Kanyakumari is an ideal location for Jain and Gujarati people seeking a peaceful retreat. Situated near the sunset point, the temple offers sea-facing rooms that are clean and affordable. The temple also has facilities for Jain food and a nearby Gujarat Bhavan for families. Accessible by auto at any time, it is close to the beach, Triveni Sangam and other palaces of interest.
Nice Jain Mandir. They also have limited rooms available for stay for Jain people.. Would recommend people of Jain faith to visit this temple. Was fortunate to attend Dhwaja function, organized by Jain trust and families nearby, when I visited in mid March '24. Jain Bhojanshala is also available here.

Superb Jain temple on the edge of Kanyakumari, 25 min walk from centre. It is small, but with beautifully carved walls.
Roger M — Google review
Majestic Jain temple, there is no need for any ticket. Just enter and enjoy the beauty of the temple. Made entirely of white marble with no use of iron bars ( as per Jain tradition) . Not crowded at all, visit any time of day.
Sayan M — Google review
Only one Jain temple in Kanyakumari. Shwetambar temple with Bagwan Mahavir being the Mulnayak Bhagwanji along with chandaprabhu and neminath bagwanji. Very serene experience one can get as you can see the sea in front with constant cool breeze Also you can get accommodations and food in the dharamshala. P.S. If you are a single traveler, accommodation is not possible . 700mtrs from busstand

Baywatch Park in Kanyakumari is a fantastic destination for families, offering an array of thrilling rides and attractions suitable for all ages. The park features kids' water slides, wave pools, and various exciting rides such as trains and bumper cars. Visitors can expect a fun-filled day with plenty of opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Additionally, the park provides excellent facilities including green rooms, bathrooms, dress stores, and dining options.
Wasted my 1450/- rupees straight. 1200/- for 2 adult ticket. 95/- rupees for tea, coffee and snacks. Tea is not even close to hot water LoL. 100/- bucks auto charge on top of that 50/- rupees for small locker wow. They don't switch on all rides till 12.45 pm. If they switch on the water rides also like wave pool, Rain Dance and others that only 5 minutes exact. So don't be a fool by purchasing the tickets here not at all required to visit the place. Half of the dry rides not working or maintenance required. Water rides switched on for 5 minutes. If you ask them for service they don't even bother to answer after purchasing the ticket. Don't eat inside the restaurant. The bumping car was allowed only for 3 minutes and re entry not allowed wow and 600/- is a ticket price. 9D movie was a flop for which they are charging 120/- bucks for one movie around 4-5 minutes. Water quality was so bad me and my son got skin rashes. They are not changing and cleaning the water regularly. The best cheat part was after all this they have lunch break for their rides which was 1 pm to 2 pm. Before entering I have requested them may I see the place first they told straight no. No one should visit this place in there dream also. Chef BB

Entertaining amusement park for kids near Kanyakumari... A theme park where you can spend 3-4 hours in 15-20 rides. It's mostly not so crowded and you don't have to wait for turns for the rides. The water rides are good, especially the Family and Kids pool. Water quality is good. The Wave Pool is small but enjoyable.
Kohinkar F — Google review
A theme park in which is just 2 km away from Kanyakumar center. Price is Rs. 500/- for anyone above 137 DNS height. There are 2 slide pools, 1 kids pool and 1 wave pool. There are other activities like 9D theater, sky walk, toy train, bumper car, mystery tunnel etc. It's open from about 10 am. Water quality is not that great ... Hard water. Locker facility also available for Rs. 250 with Rs. 200 returnable. Food cost and quality average

Entertaining amusement park for kids in  Kanyakumari near sunset point.  Baywatch park is suitable for kids compare to other theme park like wonderla, it's just a mini water theme park. The tariff are very high comparing to service. So I am disappointed about Baywatch . In this theme park where you can spend 3-4 hours for 15-20 rides. There is not so crowded and you don't have to wait for turns for the rides. The water rides are good, especially the Family and Kids pool. Water quality is good. The Wave Pool is small but enjoyable. Scenic view is excellent from this road. A awesome sunset in Kanyakumari. One of finest place to view sun set as per the opinion of my friends. Food and street shopping also great. The place is well maintained and offers a fantastic panoramic view of the setting sun along with ocean. They could have added more rides for children. If you don't want to watch 9D cinema tell them before buying your tickets.
Antany S — Google review
One of the best amusement parks in Kanyakumari to relax and enjoy for families. Children can enjoy the rides and water games! The Park is Medium-Sized! The entry fee is high compared to the facilities available. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, this park was closed for more than a year. Please enquire whether it is open before visiting.
Nithis K — Google review
Waste of money... One of the oldest park and there is 3 water rides and 4 childrens playing like car and coffe mug only... The cost is very high and food is not complimentary... They are not allowed for outside food and snacks... Finished all rides in 1 hour.... Simply waste....
Nithin A — Google review
Located about 1 km from the heart of the city, baywatch is a poorly maintained water themed kids park. The entry fee is rupees 600 per adult and 500 per kids taller than 90cms height. It has 3- 4 water pools for kids that are very safe due to their depth but dirty due to poor cleanup. The water consists of tonnes of dirt and lacks attractiveness. Least crowded except when there are kids from nearby schoold visits during excursions. Lot of strees with loads of birdshit waiting for your heads and shoulders if you are sitting in tree shadow. Poor quality costumes can be bought at high quality prices for water activities. A ride in the small toy trai will test the strength of your bones. A wave pool is there mostly works like a garbage pool due to gallons of muck. Overall, an avoidable outing.

Baywatch park is suitable for kids , compare to wonder la ,it's just a mini park only. I booked ticket through book my show app. But the staffs are embarrassed and called more than 5 times to their senior officers to confirm my ticket. The tariff are very high comparing to service. So I am disappointed about Baywatch .

Kanyakumari Lighthouse

The Kanyakumari Lighthouse is a fantastic destination with an entrance fee that may be a little costly. However, the scenery it offers and the opportunity to breathe in fresh air make it worthwhile. The presence of a security guard and a shipping officer adds to the sense of safety. Although there was unfortunately an issue with the elevator during my visit, overall, it provided a pleasant experience for those seeking panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
Excellent view of Kanyakumari. Better than any other location. Evening is the best time. Free toilets and water also available. Must see location in town.

Visited the Kanyakumari Lighthouse on a Sunday noon, with an entry fee of just ₹10 per person. It is a great spot to get an aerial view of the entire Kanyakumari. A lift is available to reach the top and each person is allowed a maximum of 15 minutes. Bags are not allowed but can be kept in a designated storage area. Overall, I really loved the experience.

South Indian restaurant
Hotel Viswa offers a diverse range of meals and breakfast options, with particular praise for its soft and non-sticky idlis. The food is described as wonderful with good taste, although some items are considered to be on the pricier side. While service may be slower for single patrons, it improves for larger groups. Additionally, the hotel is recommended for morning tea and refreshments, and also provides convenience items like paste and soap.
We were searching for a vegetarian restaurant but didn't get in kanyakumari. Then we saw the evening snacks option here. Not well hygienic but very fresh. We take the tea and try every veg snack option which was so tasty. So in the evening time I recommend every vegetarian to try their snacks (please avoid some flaws 😔) you must get local authentic taste from south region of India. I am posting the picture of snacks also . And a little request to the Shop owner that please don't allow everyone to touch the snacks for checking the freshness of food.
Diksha P — Google review
Slightly overpriced but the price you will be paying would be for cape road and tourist spot. I liked their tea and vadai. Go for freshly cooked items only.
Vinayak K — Google review
I had a very bad experience. The service was poor, and there were flies inside the chutney. The tiffins were not hot at all. When I asked about it, the staff simply replied, “All our items are like that.” That’s really disappointing and unacceptable. And prices also to expensive

The food was great here, great in terms of taste and also value for money. I must say they make very soft idly which is non-sticky, very tasty.

Average place to have your meal. The curry and fry is not up to the mark. But I liked the crab and prawn offerings. Which is OK in the price bracket. Place is not up to the mark in the hygiene aspect. Bon Appetite Chef BB

The south indian restaurant Taj Hotel serves delicious sea food with affordable prize. It is very crowded restaurant and you have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for the food. The cleanliness not properly maintained however the food is awesome.
Food- Had one of the best crab masala till now, it was just utterly-bitterly delicious. It was a cherry on the cake of my TN travel. Tried my 1st squid 65, which is recommended if you are travelling to TN Service- Team was very prompt & friendly only issue was I got only one crab claw in my dish but the dish was so overwhelming can’t complaint more. Atmosphere- Local restaurant serving fresh food which is near to Memorial & pocket friendly.

Atmosphere is not good, not neat & clean. The best thing about this Hotel is tasty Banana Fry....rest food are also tasty but as per cost quantity is less. Not Hygienic also Jain people avoid this place people don't understand difference between Vegetarian & Pure vegetarian (Sativik). Here more onion & garlic foods & odd atmosphere. Congested place. But if you are visiting then must try Banana fry,it's awesome.
Khwahish S — Google review
It's a pure veg restaurant but hygiene is not so great. The staff is attentive. The owner Mr. Sayeed is polite. We had unlimited Thali, Dosa and Idli vada set with lemon juice. Sambhar was not great. Rest things were okay. They must work on their hygiene as a priority.

Not hygienic but the fish tava fry was good.. but expensive.

Set of greedy folks in this hotel. Worst service. Taste is pale and cleanliness is awful. There are small but very good hotels near by to go. Just walk around. Tea was good but breakfast items were not good. PS: by seeing interior you can make out this place was earlier a historical building or architectural building. Not sure if this was bought or etc.
Kash — Google review
I had one of the worst food experiences here. I ordered prawn biriyani, and to say it was a letdown would be an understatement. The biriyani clearly tasted like it was cooked a day or two before – dry, stale rice with zero aroma or flavor you’d expect from a freshly made dish. It lacked any depth or spice, and the texture was off like it had been reheated multiple times. But the biggest concern? The prawns were not fresh at all. They had a strange, rubbery texture and a slightly off smell – a clear sign they were either old or poorly stored. I couldn’t even finish the dish out of fear of falling sick. Food safety and freshness should be non-negotiable, especially with seafood. This was a serious letdown. I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs if you value your health and your money. Definitely not worth the risk or the price.
SAM S — Google review
Just fraudsters, telling fish rate 150 initially, after ordered and finish the food, in bill they make it as 180 then argue with us like you can't hear properly like that and change rates scammed by these people. Avoid this this shop.

Located near the ferry tiffins are available here we ordered for a puri and a masala dosa which cost 100 bugs . Masala dosa is very bad it is just Dow’s and allu kurma no masala in it and chutiye is very bad with lot of coconut and water I don’t prefer these hotel visiting again rest is your choice.
