Park
Alleppey Beach, also known as Alappuzha Beach, is a stunning destination with a long coastline and breathtaking beauty. The beach features an old pier, adjacent park, and occasional events and festivals. Surrounded by palm trees, an ancient lighthouse, and lush gardens along the shore, it offers a mesmerizing natural scenic beauty. Visitors can also explore the Krishnapuram Palace to gain insight into Kerala's culture and history.
The beach was clean, well-maintained, and had proper lifeguard presence, which made us feel safe. It’s a peaceful and calm spot perfect for unwinding. We enjoyed our evening snacks here, especially the egg pakoras which were delicious. However, the tea could have been better. Overall, a relaxing experience by the sea.
SUKHPREET S — Google review
Alleppey Beach is a tranquil gem on the Kerala coast, offering a calm and relaxing escape from the busier beaches nearby. It’s rarely crowded, especially in the mornings, making it easy to find a peaceful spot amidst soft sand and swaying palms. The beach is impressively clean with unspoiled surroundings and very little pollution, making sunset walks, quiet picnics, and solo reflection genuinely enjoyable. Whether lounging or strolling, Alleppey Beach is perfect for those seeking peace, fresh air, and a pollution-free environment. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a serene coastal experience without the usual bustle.

The beach is typically calm and neat. Weekends and holidays tend to be quite busy, while evenings offer a more relaxed atmosphere for spending time with friends and family. Please be aware that parking may present some challenges.

Highly recommend visiting if you love an active beach day! Alleppey Beach - A Must-Visit Spot! 🌴 One of the most happening beaches in Alleppey! 🏖️ You can enjoy water sports like jet skiing and speed boating, and even try horse riding along the shore. We visited Alappuzha Beach in the evening and was stunned to see the amazing sunsets, golden sands, and a peaceful vibe—perfect for all! .Family friendly environment. Clean beach wih Beautiful sunset view. Must visit. Food stall available well reasonable. Alappuzha Beach is a popular tourist attraction in the coastal town of Alappuzha .Alappuzha Lighthouse situated near to the beach. Beach is accessible through various town roads and an elevated highway will passing by the beach as part of Alappuzha bypass in order to preserve the beauty of the area.
Nikhil P — Google review
So beautiful place to visit. The views are breathtaking. The beach as a whole is a calm and serene experience though tides can be huge during full moon. The beach is clean, though better efforts could be done to keep it clean. The place to change clothes and washrooms are okaish. They take 20 rupees just for changing and are not super well maintained. Food is nice here. Variety of veg as well as non veg dishes available. Recommended👍🏻
Gaurav S — Google review
As usual a good beach with lot of amenities around. Good picture points throughout. Sunset view is very beautiful as you can see the SUN dipping into the sea. Very long beach. Little dirty as people coming keep littering on the beach. Good food available both on the beach and off the beach. Parking is little mess as it is available on the roadside. Plus there is a parking space on the opposite side of the road also. Weekends are usually very busy.
R K — Google review
Comparitively the beach is less crowded during evening time but will be filled up quickly by 6pm. Easily accessible but i think there is no dedicated parking area. There are gaming area near to food street. Overall its a good spot to spend your evening.

Alappuzha Beach is a popular waterfront destination in Kerala, offering visitors a chance to explore its historic pier and enjoy cruises in quaint houseboats. The area hosts the famous Alappuzha Beach Festival and the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, providing an opportunity to experience vibrant festivals showcasing Kerala's traditions. Additionally, visitors can explore the Revi Karunakaran Museum to delve into the region's cultural heritage.
Alappuzha Beach is a nice place to relax and enjoy the sea view. The shore is clean and the atmosphere is pleasant for an evening walk or to sit and watch the waves. However, the water gets deep quickly, so it is not very safe for playing or going far into the sea. Better to enjoy the view from the shore. Overall, a peaceful spot to spend some time.

The beach has a nice and cool atmosphere, making it a pleasant spot to relax and unwind. The surroundings are calm and peaceful, perfect for spending some leisure time. There are many small shops nearby selling food, ice cream, juices, and snacks, so you’ll never run out of options to munch on. The play areas and leisure spaces are also well-maintained and neatly arranged, making it a good place for families and children. However, there’s a slight fishy smell in beach areas, which can be unpleasant at times. Apart from that, the beach itself is beautiful and offers a refreshing experience overall.

Visited Alappuzha Beach in the evening. It was a very active and lively beach. The weather was beautiful and pleasant when we visited. There are many coffee shops, cake shops, and restaurants located below the pine trees, creating a great vibe. You’ll need to park along the roadside under the N.H. overbridge. It’s a wonderful place to spend time with family and friends. oilet facilities are available, but they are not very clean. 🏖️ A truly beautiful beach with a refreshing atmosphere.

Gorgeous long beach on the Arabian sea... perfect for walking. Big waves. Lots of small stalls/shops along the way.. Jet skiing, quads and speed boat trips on beach.. very cheap approx €6 for jet skiing.

Visited at night — the beach was calm, breezy, and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing walk by the waves. However, there’s no proper parking facility, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, a nice spot to unwind! 🌊

A very relaxing place with a lovely sea breeze. The sunset here is amazing, and photos taken during that time come out beautifully. There are plenty of snack shops nearby, so it's convenient if you want a quick bite. It is also a good spot to bring kids and spend some peaceful time. Overall, a calm and pleasant beach to enjoy the evening.

Alappuzha Light House, a red-and-white striped lighthouse built in 1862, offers panoramic views of the coastline and backwaters. It also houses a small history museum where visitors can learn about its rich maritime heritage. This historic structure served as a navigational aid for sailors during the 18th and 19th centuries when Alleppey was a major trading port in Kerala.
Such a nice place. Can be a bit crowded. View point is amazing. For adults, ticket price is Rs.20, and they will ask another ticket Rs.20 for photography irrespective of camera or mobile phone. But tell them we will keep the phone in car/bike itself. They will be forced to leave you.
Madhan M — Google review
Wonderful tourist destination! Entry fee is ₹20 per person. Photography fee is ₹10 per device.
Irfan P — Google review
The view from the platform was amazing and they have maintained the place well but the fact that they only take cash is the downside. So we had to run around to find an atm and ultimately borrowed from another person who had come to visit. That made the experience not so pleasant. So would love to see upi options next time. Otherwise loved the place.
Geethu B — Google review
We visited the Alappuzha Lighthouse on a rainy weekday, and despite the weather, it turned out to be a memorable experience. The climb to the top is via a narrow spiral staircase, which can be a bit challenging—especially for elderly visitors or those wearing sarees or skirts. So do keep that in mind while planning your visit. Entry is quite affordable: ₹20 for adults, ₹10 for senior citizens, and an additional ₹10 if you plan to take photos using your phone (which they’ll ask at the ticket counter). Once you reach the top, the panoramic view is absolutely worth the effort. From the lighthouse, you can spot the vast Arabian Sea, the elevated coastal highway, the tetra bridge, and the surrounding greenery of Alappuzha. The combination of misty rain and the scenic landscape made the view even more stunning. Overall, a must-visit spot in Alappuzha for history lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. Just be prepared for the stairs!

Alappuzha Beach is truly a gem! The beach is super clean, and the sunset views are just magical. You can relax nearby in cozy resorts like Alleppey Beach Resorts or enjoy homestays at places like Pearl Beach Bungalow Heritage Home. There are also plenty of fun things to do—try out backwater cruises, kayaking, or just grab some fresh coconut water. The vibe here is peaceful, perfect for unwinding with friends or family. Did you get a chance to try any water sports or a houseboat ride? 🌊

Revi Karunakaran Memorial Museum is a captivating destination that offers a glimpse into an extensive private family collection, featuring a diverse range of religious artwork. The museum boasts stunning marble and crystal installations, along with a dedicated Kerala Room showcasing the state's art and culture. Art enthusiasts will be drawn to the vast collection of Tanjore paintings and the impressive 250 ft tall mural.
Absolutely beautiful place to visit. The collection of artifacts and jewels is mind blowing, made me think was this some Maharaja's collection or what. The Swarovski and Lladro collections literally blind your eyes. You aren't allowed to take photos inside. The entry fee of Rs.200/person is a bit on the higher end but okay as a one time expense worth it. Would request the folks at the museum to add more signboards and info boards for the artifacts. Makes it more appealing
Pranav M — Google review
This is a commendable destination to explore. I highly recommend visiting the first floor of this museum, where you can find an impressive collection of crystals from various countries. The ticket price is Rs 200, which is little expensive. If it is ₹100 then it's okay.
ROSHAN P — Google review
At first, we hesitated a bit when we heard the entry ticket was ₹200 per head—not too expensive, but we wondered if a museum would really be worth it. To our surprise, it absolutely was. If you appreciate art, this place is a hidden gem. It's said to house the largest collection of Swarovski and ivory artifacts—and the craftsmanship is truly breathtaking No photos inside, almost 1.5 hours of tour
Ashika S — Google review
I was doubtful after hearing the entry ticket of 200rs. But it was worthwhile. The collections in the museum spoke for themselves. The collection of Ivory items they had in this museum is astonishing. Must visit!
Sanjay S — Google review
Could have been more better, though the collection is good, no one is there to properly explain about each item, which is on display. Also the price per one person is 200 which is very high. Didn't feel worthy. Monday is holiday. Open 9 Am to 5 Pm everyday except Monday. Photography is not allowed inside.
Ayusam A — Google review
The place is an upper class like set up showcasing a wide variety of items from across the globe. The items are mostly the collection from one esteemed family based on Alappuzha. It is worth a visit once but don't necessarily have a rewatch scope. People with taste in history and art do have a scope of exploration in the place. The place has a good number of footfalls but the ticket rates are bit costly.
Atul T — Google review
Revi Karunakaran Museum is a privately owned museum with an impressive collection of ivory works, paintings, coins, and various luxury artifacts. The exhibits are well displayed and offer a glimpse into art, culture, and heritage. However, I felt the entry fee was a bit on the higher side. Also, photography is not allowed inside. Overall, it is worth a visit if you appreciate detailed craftsmanship and historical collections.
Nikitha A — Google review
Excellent collection of artifacts well maintained. The guides posted at the exhibits could have been better in describing the details about unique exhibits rather than standing and simply pointing visitors to move through the gallery. The one negative shade is the exorbitant admission fee of two hundred rupees along with a strict no photography rule imposed as well. That's why i have deducted a star from the rating. The other government historic monuments across the state charge a quarter price only when compared to the charges here. They allow photography too. Time pass for traveler's strolling around Alapuzha for an hour or so.

A big thanks to Sachin for arranging everything exactly as promised. The houseboat was exactly the same as shown in the pictures—spacious, clean, and simply awesome. We booked it for one day with our family of 9 members, and it was the perfect choice for a relaxing getaway. The highlight of the trip was the food—absolutely top-notch! Whether it was breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, or tea, everything was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. The service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this houseboat experience to anyone visiting Kerala. It’s truly worth it!

I stayed at Waves and Dales Alleppey Houseboat on 23rd August, and it was an unforgettable experience. The houseboat was clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained, offering the perfect blend of comfort and traditional Kerala charm. Cruising through the Alleppey backwaters was truly magical – calm waters, coconut trees on both sides, and the peaceful sounds of nature all around. The staff on board were very polite and attentive. They served us delicious Kerala-style meals, especially the fresh fish curry which was a highlight. The hospitality made the journey even more special. Overall, it was a perfect way to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Alleppey. I highly recommend Waves and Dales Alleppey Houseboats to anyone visiting Kerala and looking for a memorable backwater experience. 🌿🚤

We had booked a 2 bedroom private house boat for overnight stay with Waves & Dales. All throughout the process, Sachin was super helpful and patiently answered all our queries. The booking was seamless and the evening before they take driver contact details and co-ordinate for drop off location, which was very nice. On the day of the stay, Sachin greeted us and gave us a walkthrough of the house boat and introduced the staff members as well. The houseboat was beautiful and exactly as the pictures sent to us prior to booking. Both the rooms were spacious with huge beds and attached private bathroom. The dining space was huge and the rooftop was phenomenal where we spent most of our time lounging. The food on board was delicious kerala food. I made a special request for Karimeen Polichattu and Chicken Mappas and they accomodated that for a tiny additional charge. The staff is very polite and take thorough care of all our needs while on board. Food was served timely and was super tasty. All in all I highly recommend Waves & Dales to have a lovely houseboat stay in Allepey.

One of the best experiences we had with allepy boat house. We enjoyed each and every moment inside the boat. The anchor area was also very calm and relaxing. The captain stopped in a shop and we got fresh seafood. We got prawns and fish, the chefs from the boat cooked it to the perfection. We had a kid inside the boat the captain and crew provided needed safety for her too.! Total happiness.!

Advice:- DONT BOOK WITH THEM. AC DOESN'T WORK AT NIGHT for customer room only works for staff 🙏 So I booked a private boat and the trip started well we were enjoying in the day time. The staff forgot some activities in between which they later arranged when I reminded them. Staff went out of the way to arrange beverages for us. But Now the main issue the AC did not work at night after 1AM. I asked the staff to fix it they fixed it and then again it was turned off after 30 minutes and then did not work at all. I was drenched in sweat it spoiled the good experience we had in the day time. The manager is now ignoring my messages on WhatsApp as I wanted to let him know about the issue but anyhow please consider booking with a good boat operator pay 1-2k extra but don't spoil your night. Also at night I saw a rat in the kitchen when I was trying my best to get the AC turned on. In Summary:- AC:-0/5 Food:-2/5 Support:- 3/5 Room and washroom cleanliness:-4/5 Speed boat activity:-5/5 Boat tour:-5/5 Posting the video with timestamp as well for proof if someone doesn't believe it. The operator told staff knows hindi the guy who knew hindi actually knew nothing 🤣

Mullakkal Rajarajeswari Temple, located in the heart of Alleppey, is a significant religious site dedicated to Goddess Rajarajeswari. This 500-year-old temple showcases classic Kerala-style architecture and hosts the annual festival of Mullakkal Chirappu, lasting for 41 days. The temple's inclusive nature welcomes devotees from all castes and religions, reflecting the spirit of secularism in Kerala.
I visited Mulakkal Rajeshwari Temple in the evening, and it was a truly peaceful experience. The divine presence of the goddess was so beautiful that I felt completely lost in her aura. The surroundings were serene, and the soothing chants and mantras added to the positive energy all around. A spiritually uplifting visit—highly recommended for anyone seeking peace and devotion.

Mullakkal Rajarajeswari Temple is one of the famous Hindu temple located in Alappuzha, Kerala. It is dedicated to Goddess Rajarajeswari, a form of Durga, and is known for its unique open-roof sanctum. Open-Roof Sanctum: The main deity, Goddess Rajarajeswari, is housed under an open sky, which is rare in temple architecture. Other Deities: Apart from Rajarajeswari, the temple also has shrines for Lord Karthikeya, Lord Krishna, Lord Ayyappa, Lord Hanuman, and Nagaraja (serpent deity). There is one elephant also there in this temple.

Major temple in Alappuzha town. The deity here is Goddess Durga. Vana Durga to be more specific. Located in the heart of Alappuzha town, this beautiful old temple attracts a large number of pilgrims from inside and outside Alappuzha. The ambience here is very cool and soothing even though located in a busy area. Lord Murugan, Krishna, Ganapati, Ayyappan, Nava grahas and Nagaraja are present as Upadevathas. The most important festival of this temple is the Malayalam month of Dhanu starts in the middle of December known as Mullackal Chirappu. A 11 day or sometimes 12 days festival which is famous in other districts also. The Kodiyett Ulsavam is during the Navaratri and is the first Temple Ulsavam in Alappuzha in the Malayalam year. This festival starts on Prathama and ends on the Vijayadasami day with Arattu at Pazhaveedu temple.

Wow. Amazing and calm experience to relax for a day. Different types of boats available for various group sizes. Perfect place for a team outing. Can stay in the boat for a whole day and night. In Alappuzha, there's a hidden gem called Pizza Hub that defies expectations with its world-class pizzas. Despite its unassuming appearance, this small shop churns out top-notch pies that are a true delight. Whether you order through delivery apps or visit in person, you're in for a treat. The Jamaican Jerk chicken pizza is loaded with cheese and toppings, while the Margherita and chicken tikka pizzas boast real cheese and handcrafted goodness.
I had the pleasure of dining at Pizza Hub and was blown away by the experience! The owner, a civil engineer turned pizza enthusiast, is incredibly friendly and passionate about his craft. I recently ordered pizza for my parents, and we were all really impressed! The pizza was absolutely delicious—the flavors were spot on, the cheese was generous, and everything was cooked perfectly. Delivery was right on time, and the person I spoke with was very attentive and made sure all my requirements were taken care of. My parents loved it, and I’ll definitely be ordering from them again. We tried the beef steak and we found the beef pieces really rubbery and could not finish it. We also tried the Texas Junkyard burger which was really good. Overall it was okay and the restaurant staff apologize for the rubbery beef in steak and offered to replace it as well. But we didn't opt for it. Overall experience was decent. You have parking opposite to the restaurant they will reimburse you the parking amount.

Great to find this little gem.in the back streets of Alleppey. There is only so much curry a European can eat in 3 weeks so a refreshing change to get some good old burgers wings and American style food. Spotless clean , friendly. No alcohol shame as would have been great with a cold beer. Definitely worth a visit

The best continental food so far I tried in Alappey! Visited the shop to try their signature dishes, due to the pandemic situation I opted for takeaway instead of dining. The cafe is managed by some.youngsters I think, but well managed and proper monitoring of all the departments Ordered items: Beef lasagne - Good 2x2 Chicken Burger - Best Mozzarella Stick - Good From the above, Chicken Burger remains my favourite, they said their beef burger is the best. Should try next time. Negative: Poor music system at cafe (music output from TV speakers is horrible) Lack of parking space for the car

Burgers are superb. Meat is well cooked and flavoured....not like the mallu style burgers you find here. Ambience and service have improved. They seem to be quite congested during the evenings as in lot of customers hang out. Needs to be more spacious. Drinks like frappe and mojitos are awesome. A decent good place to hang in for some good fries, Burger's, steaks and drinks.

Loved it, for a place in Alleppey.. I heard about this place and thought i need to definitely try it out for a change rather than hang on the usual regular dining places. The target was the steak and it was all over by then at 7pm so We were bang on for the burgers and it was YUuuummm…. I must say the pattys were well marinated and the preparation was perfect to make the burger go hmmmm crunch and juicy…. We had the Chicago cheese burger and Messi special burger.. Messi special burger was too good….though a special edition, feel it has to continue… The strawberry and tender coconut milk shake was too good… was quite sweet but not too much to take over the flavour.. The cheese fries was not upto the expectation.. too much of cheese and soggy fries… looked like the cheese slice was layered on top and microwaved.. Crispy fries with melted cheese on top with a dash of pepper or chilly flakes would have been perfect. I missed on the beef steaks and definitely gonna book my piece in the noon itself. The space: the entrance path dint give that vibe but on entering the ambience was good.. They have an open space on the top which is also great.. For sure this has to be in you to dine at Alleppey. It was truly a delight…

Whether you're craving familiar flavors or eager to try something new, BayRoute Bistro has you covered.
Had an amazing dining experience at BayRoute Bistro with my group of 4 friends! 🤩 We tried a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Let's start with the starters - the Loaded Cheesy Chicken was a hit! 🧀🐓 The cheesy flavor was perfect, and it was nicely cooked. For the main course, we ordered a spread that included: - Butter Naan: Soft, flaky, and flavorful, perfect for scooping up sauces. - Murgh Tikka: Tender and juicy chicken, marinated to perfection and grilled to a nice char. - Chicken Kebab: Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. - Humus: Creamy and rich, with a nice balance of spices. - BDF (Beef Dry Fry): A flavorful beef dish, nicely spiced and fried to perfection. - Butter Roti: Similar to the naan, but with a slightly different texture and just as delicious. - Butter Chicken: Rich, creamy, and indulgent, with tender chicken pieces in a velvety sauce. We also tried their juices - Passion Fruit Mojito and Mohabbad Ka Sharbath, both of which were refreshing and perfect for washing down the meal. 🍹🌟 The service was great, and the ambiance was lovely. We had a wonderful time chatting and enjoying our meal. 👫👌 Overall, I'd highly recommend BayRoute Bistro for a delicious meal with friends or family. The variety of options and the quality of food make it a great spot for gatherings. 👍 4.5/5 🍴👌

The quality and quantity of the food is very good. The interior ambience is very beautiful. The food is very tasty. There is a wide variety of food items available, from which one can choose according to their preference. We had Arabian style Al-Faham and Fish Sizzler here for lunch, and both were very good. And for dinner at night, we go there again and took Kerala Paratha, Noor Paratha, and Butter Al-Faham as a takeaway (parcel). It is very close to Alleppey Beach, just 2 to 3 km only.

One of the best Kunafa 5/5 I have had in India. We ordered: - Ammachi Chicken fry 2/5 - Kerala Paratha 3/5 We ordered a prawn and fish dish attached photos for reference, it was not wow or amazing. It wasn't overall that great since most dishes weren't satisfactory, it's not that it wasn't fresh or tasted really bad. It just wasn't good enough. Expected better.

A bit hesitant at first given they serve multiple types of cuisines, we mainly had Indian food and it was so good - chicken was very tender, and the parathas were so delicious. Didnt get a photo but the Arabic cheese Kunafa for dessert is a must try - it was just so tasty I couldnt have enough of it. The portion is quite big though so definitely recommend sharing

One of the best restaurants in Allepey. I almost ate everyday for the days I was there. The nal parotha, Malabar curry, the hummus pita and the prawns dynamite was really really good. I almost ate nal parota everyday. The soup had a different take which was served in a crusted bread. Highly recommend this!

The ambience and location is super perfect. And they have valet parking too, which I found extremely useful being in such a busy location. We tried several dishes recommended by our host Ms Felima and were “awed” by the taste and presentation. Although priced slightly on the higher side, the taste is sure to tickle your taste buds on the tasty side - the Brownie sizzler is a must try! Lot of good crowd flock in especially in the evenings, which justifies the restaurant’s growing popularity.

Dinner at Bayroute was a delightful experience with great food and a wonderful ambiance. On Day 1, we started with the Kayal Chemmeen Soup, which was easily one of the best soups we’ve ever had. The Caesar salad was another tasty dish, followed by their famous BCD. We finished with a refreshing pineapple seasonal juice. All this came at a bargain price of just INR 655. On Day 2, we returned for the soup once again but swapped the Caesar salad for corn, which unfortunately wasn’t as good. We also tried a 1/4 barbeque, but it was quite average and left us puzzled why the breast piece was served since we aren’t fans of that part of the chicken. They could have asked for preferences. However, the billing experience was the least pleasant. On Day 1, they misplaced our bill and gave us another one. When we caught it, they insisted on charging extra, and we ended up paying INR 300 more. Had we chosen to eat elsewhere, we might have avoided the average salad and barbeque, plus that unexpected cost! Overall, a good dining place with excellent soups and some delightful dishes, but watch out for the billing and some inconsistent menu items.

Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple is a captivating pilgrimage destination located in the heart of Kerala, dedicated to the revered serpent god, Nagaraja. This ancient temple is renowned for its serene forest setting and boasts an impressive collection of over 100,000 snake images that line the pathways and trees, making it one of the largest snake temples in India.
Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple is an enchanting spiritual destination nestled in the serene forests of Haripad, Kerala. Dedicated to Nagaraja (the serpent god), this temple is truly unique — not only for its deep-rooted connection to serpent worship but also for the tranquility and mystique that surround it. The temple complex is beautifully shaded by dense trees, and as you walk through the pathways, you’ll notice thousands of serpent idols placed under the trees and along the temple grounds, each telling a silent story of devotion. The air feels cool, calm, and charged with a spiritual energy that is difficult to put into words. It’s a place where you feel connected to nature and divinity at the same time. One of the most remarkable aspects of Mannarasala is the temple's matriarchal tradition — the chief priest is a woman, known as the Mannarasala Amma. This makes the temple culturally significant as well, representing an ancient and rare tradition in temple customs. The rituals here are deeply symbolic, especially for devotees seeking blessings for fertility, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles. Many families visit to perform offerings, particularly the popular 'Uruli Kamazhthal' ritual, praying for children. The temple is well-maintained, and despite attracting a large number of devotees, it retains its calm and disciplined atmosphere. The Mannarasala Ayilyam festival is a grand event here, celebrated with much fervor and drawing crowds from across Kerala and beyond. Practical tip: Early morning visits are ideal to avoid the rush and to fully experience the peaceful surroundings. Footwear needs to be left outside, and photography is generally restricted inside, preserving the sanctity of the space. Overall, Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple is more than a place of worship — it’s a rare blend of spirituality, nature, and cultural heritage. Whether you are a devotee or simply someone seeking a unique spiritual experience in Kerala, this temple leaves a lasting impression.

I visited Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple today. The serene atmosphere of this temple provides a unique experience for visitors. The presence of stone idols depicting snakes adds to the distinctive charm of the place. Attending snake pooja and receiving prasadas are integral parts of the temple's religious practices. The two large ponds within the temple grounds contribute to the peaceful ambiance. The forest-like surroundings further enhance the tranquility of this sacred space.

Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple in Haripad is one of Kerala’s most divine and mysterious temples, surrounded by lush green forest and filled with powerful spiritual energy. Dedicated to Lord Nagaraja, the Serpent God, this temple is believed to bless devotees with health, prosperity, fertility, and protection from negative energies. As you walk through the shaded forest path leading to the shrine, you’ll see thousands of serpent idols placed under trees and along the steps — each offered with faith by devotees. The peaceful surroundings, cool breeze, and natural beauty make it feel like a sacred world of its own. One of the temple’s unique traditions is that the chief priest is a woman, known as the Valiyamma, who performs rituals with deep devotion. The temple’s Ayilyam festival is a grand and spiritual celebration that attracts devotees from all over Kerala.

Reviewing Mannarasala Temple feels like giving a rating to a tranquil forest, not just a temple. The 16-acre site, dedicated to the serpent god Nagaraja, is a spiritually charged and peaceful experience unlike any other. Walking the pathways under the shade of ancient trees, you'll see tens of thousands of snake idols, creating a truly unique and mystical atmosphere. A key highlight is the matriarchal tradition, with a priestess known as the "Mannarasala Amma" conducting the rituals. Her blessings are highly sought after, especially for childless couples who perform the "Uruli Kamazhthal" offering and have found great solace. The temple is exceptionally well-maintained, and despite attracting large numbers of devotees, it retains a calm and orderly vibe. For the best experience, visit early in the morning to enjoy the serene environment before it gets crowded. Remember the traditional dress code and that photography is restricted inside to preserve the sacredness of the space. A visit here is a rare blend of spiritual devotion, cultural heritage, and deep connection with nature.

Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, Ambalapuzha is a 13th-century Hindu temple and monastery dedicated to Lord Krishna. Also known as Dwaraka of South, this temple follows the traditional architecture of Kerala. It is famous for its sweet milk rice pudding called Pal Payasam and boasts an exquisite collection of mural paintings depicting Lord Vishnu's ten avatars.

The Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Swamy temple located in Ambalapuzha in Alappuzha district is one of the major Krishna temples in Kerala. The 'Ambalapuzha paal payasam'(aka milk payasam) is very famous and very hard to get. You can pre book and collect it. We had originally planned to visit in the morning but was late and could only visit by evening. We had our darshan as soon as the 'nada' opened by 5:15 pm. Had a very comfortable and peaceful darshan there. In the images you could see the current elephant 🐘 of the temple Kulamakkil Parthasarathy who was there at the time. The temple pond was very calming. Toilets are available there.

Ambalapuzha Sri Krishna Temple is a truly divine and peaceful place. The temple’s traditional Kerala architecture and serene atmosphere make it very special. The highlight is the famous Palpayasam (sweet milk pudding), which is not only delicious but also part of the temple’s centuries-old tradition. Visiting here gives a sense of calmness and spiritual joy. A must-visit temple in Kerala for anyone seeking blessings and tranquility.
Manjusha J — Google review
My visit to Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple was a truly peaceful and blessed experience. The temple has a calm and divine atmosphere that instantly fills your mind with devotion. I visited on a weekday, and since it wasn’t crowded, I was able to pray peacefully and spend some quiet time in the temple premises. The temple is well-maintained, with beautiful traditional Kerala-style architecture and a serene ambiance. Everything is neat and clean, and the entire area gives a sense of purity and calmness. One of the main attractions here is the famous Ambalapuzha Palpayasam (sweet rice pudding), which is renowned all over Kerala for its divine taste and long-standing tradition. On normal days, each person usually receives about 1 litre of Palpayasam, but on rush days or during festivals, the quantity is reduced to 500 ml per person. If you’re planning to get the Palpayasam, it’s good to know the timing: Receipt distribution starts around 10:00 AM. Palpayasam distribution begins only at 12:30 PM. It’s best to reach early, get your receipt, and then collect the Palpayasam once distribution starts. The process is organized, but reaching early helps avoid long queues. However, during my visit, I noticed some issues in the distribution process. I waited in the queue for nearly three hours, and during that time, I observed that the distribution was not handled equally. Some people seemed to get their Palpayasam receipt easily because they knew the staff, and a few even appeared to have reserved their share by calling someone inside. This kind of favoritism and queue-skipping is disappointing to see, especially in a sacred place where everyone should be treated equally. In other temples like Guruvayur, the system is much fairer — devotees take the receipt and receive their prasadam in proper order. I truly hope the Ambalapuzha temple authorities look into this issue, as a temple should always uphold equal justice and opportunities for all devotees, regardless of connections. Overall, my visit was deeply spiritual and refreshing. The peaceful atmosphere, the beauty of the temple, and the divine Palpayasam together make it a memorable experience.

This temple is a powerful Sreekrishna Kshetram near Alleppey. Located in a tiny village in serene landscape, this temple receives steady inflow of devotees throughout the year. Famous for paal payasam & rituals surrounding various pujas, this is a must visit place. One can book paal payasam in advance or be there in the queue from 12 noon after which it's distributed to general public.

An atmosphere filled with devotion. Om namo bhagavathe vasudevaya🤍🕉️ Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is an Indian Hindu temple dedicated to Krishna at Ambalappuzha in Alappuzha district of Kerala. The temple is believed to have been built during 15th century CE by the local ruler Chembakasserry Pooradam Thirunal-Devanarayanan Thampuran. It is one of the seven greatest temples in Travancore. It is considered one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. The idol at Ambalappuzha is likened to Parthasarthi form of Vishnu, holding a whip in his right hand and a conch in his left. During the raids of Tipu Sultan in 1789, the idol of Sri Krishna from the Guruvayoor Temple was brought to the Ambalappuzha Temple for safe keeping for three years. The Ambalapuzha PalPayasam, a sweet pudding made of rice and milk is served in the temple and is believed that Guruvayoorappan visits the temple daily to accept the offering.Thrimadhuram is also a famous offering in this temple.

My visit to the temple in Kerala was a unique experience, especially compared to other temples I've visited in India. One notable aspect was the cultural tradition of removing shirts while queuing to see the deity, which added to the spiritual ambiance. The temple's grandeur and intricate details were truly magnificent, making for a memorable visit. Located in Alleppey, Kerala, this temple is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the region. The experience of being part of such a deeply rooted cultural tradition was enriching and left a lasting impression. I highly recommend this temple to anyone looking to explore Kerala's rich heritage and spirituality.

Constructed in 427 AD, this beautiful basilica is renowned for its architecture and rich legacy which draws tourists from all over the world. The church hosts two festivals annually to commemorate various occasions, attracting a large number of visitors.
Champakulam St. Mary's Syro-Malabar Church, also known as Kalloorkkadu Valia Palli, is a place of deep spiritual significance and architectural beauty. Situated in the serene village of Champakulam, Kerala, this church holds a special place in the hearts of believers, particularly within the Syro-Malabar Catholic community. Spiritual Significance: The church is renowned for its rich history and religious importance. It is one of the oldest churches in Kerala, with roots tracing back to the early days of Christianity in India, possibly dating to the 1st century AD, making it an essential part of the Christian heritage in the region. The church is dedicated to St. Mary, and its spiritual aura is heightened by the centuries-old traditions that are still followed in its services. The church showcases a blend of traditional and colonial-style architecture, with intricately designed wooden interiors and stunning stained glass windows that illuminate the space with beautiful hues of light. The towering spire of the church stands as a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication that went into its construction. The imposing façade of the church, with its elaborate carvings and detailed masonry, reflects the grandeur and reverence the place commands. What stands out is the careful preservation of its historical charm. Despite renovations over the years, the church has managed to retain much of its original splendor, making it a perfect example of architectural fusion and timeless beauty. The church also houses a variety of religious artifacts, paintings, and sculptures, many of which are of historical and cultural significance, further adding to the allure of the place. A scenic church in the river banks. The historic church gives a pleasant and calm atmosphere and peace of mind. This basilica church is one of the ancient churches in kuttanadu.
Leo J — Google review
If you’re ever near Champakulam, you must visit Kalloorkad St. Mary’s Basilica. It’s not just a church—it’s a place where you can truly feel peace. Located right by the calm Pamba River, the surroundings are so beautiful and quiet that it instantly puts your mind at ease. You can just sit there, watch the river, feel the breeze, and everything else fades away. This church is one of the oldest in India, built way back in AD 427, and you can feel the weight of that history when you walk around. It’s known as the "mother church" for many Syrian Catholic churches in the region. Yet, despite being so ancient, it feels alive and welcoming. The architecture is really special too. From the outside, the church looks simple and elegant with white walls and sloping tiled roofs, but when you step inside, you’ll notice the detailed wooden carvings, floral patterns on the beams, and stained glass windows. There’s an old stone cross in the courtyard that dates back to AD 1151, which is just amazing to see up close. In 2016, Pope Francis declared it a Minor Basilica, which shows how important this place is in Christian heritage. During festivals, especially the Feast of St. Mary, the whole place comes alive with devotion and community spirit. But honestly, what I loved most was the calmness. It's a perfect spot if you’re looking for a quiet break from daily life, whether you’re religious or not. The river, the history, the peaceful vibe—it all comes together beautifully. If you’re in Kerala, don’t miss this gem.

Alleppey Boat House offers a unique and serene experience as you glide through the picturesque landscape, passing by charming villages and lush greenery. For those seeking adventure, there are opportunities for canoeing and kayaking to explore hidden nooks along the waterways. While the onboard food may not be exceptional, the breathtaking views and mesmerizing water lilies make it worthwhile.
The experience is something else from the resorts or lodging, should try and have the houseboat experience in a lifetime. Was very refreshing to see the surroundings in the morning. The villages and the villagers taking out their routine as the sun rises, and the captain of the boat Mr. Podiyan was not less then captain jack sparrow. ⭐ Title: Terrible stay at The Boathouse – Unsafe, unhygienic, overpriced 🛶 Overall Experience – Completely Disappointing Our stay at The Boathouse was our worst experience ever. From the moment we arrived, we felt unsafe, the rooms were dirty, and the food was unacceptable. 🏠 Room & Cleanliness Problems The room was filthy—dust, grime, and unpleasant odors throughout. The bathroom was particularly awful—unhygienic surfaces and neglected maintenance. It was so bad that I can’t even describe it as a room; it didn't feel like a place worth renting. 😰 Safety Concerns We didn’t feel secure at any point during our stay. There were no visible safety protocols—no proper lighting, locks, or measures to ensure guest well‑being. 🍽️ Food & Dining Experience Meals were poorly prepared, lacked freshness, and portions were small. On top of that, service was nonexistent—staff were unresponsive and disorganized. 💸 Pricing & Value for Money Given the substandard conditions, the prices charged felt like a scam. There’s absolutely no justification for the rates they demand; what we received was far below even a budget-level stay.

An Unforgettable Experience with SWTD at Alappuzha We had an absolutely incredible boat ride with the SWTD (State Water Transport Department) team at the Alappuzha boat jetty. From the moment we boarded, it was a mesmerizing journey—gliding through the serene backwaters surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The atmosphere was peaceful, the crowd was lively and engaging, and the five hours we spent on the water simply flew by without us even realizing it. What truly stood out was the exceptional service and hospitality of the SWTD team. Their thoughtful approach, friendly demeanor, and deep knowledge of the region kept us captivated throughout the ride. They made the journey not just a trip, but an experience—complete with local storytelling, music, and even a bit of dance, making it vibrant and unforgettable. The safety instructions were communicated clearly, ensuring everyone on board felt secure and well-guided. We also had the pleasure of enjoying delicious and hygienic food served by the Kudumbashree group, which was not only affordable but truly mouthwatering. As we cruised along, we noticed many private boats—some large, some small—but most seemed dull in comparison. Many passengers on those boats appeared disengaged, glued to their phones or lost in their own worlds. In contrast, the energy and interaction on our SWTD boat made all the difference. It felt like a community experience, alive and joyful. This journey through the See Kuttanad route is something every visitor to Alappuzha must try—especially with family and friends. It’s cost-effective, enriching, and most importantly, delivered with genuine warmth and care by the SWTD team. Hats off to each and every member who made our day so special and memorable. Thank you for the amazing experience! KUDOS

A handy and budget-friendly option for local boat travel in Alappuzha. The jetty is functional and usually has regular boats to nearby places. It’s not super fancy, but it gets the job done. The staff is generally helpful, and the view of the backwaters is a nice bonus while you wait. Could use a bit more seating or shade, but overall a good spot if you’re using the water transport service.

"The boat rides here are the best and the most affordable alternative to the overpriced houseboats in Alappuzha. Nice backwaters, lovely transportation network, local culture, and so peaceful." We can get various boat/ferry rides to different destinations at this jetty and these are extremely affordable too. The tickets in the non-AC boats are priced under 100₹! The tickets in the AC boats are priced under 600₹ (these AC ones are said to provide a journey of several hours). These services are used by the locals here and you get a taste of the local culture and the backwaters transportation network. The non-AC one which we went in worked just like a city bus with various stops and people embarking and getting down everywhere. You get a great view of the backwaters and the narrow canals at such a wonderful price! Hats off to the SWTD for providing such pocket-friendly services to locals and tourists! Thank you to Kerala administration and Keralites!

Fathima's Nightstay Houseboat is a popular juice and falooda center situated in the heart of Alappuzha City. It offers an extensive range of juices, milkshakes, stone ice creams, sandwiches, and pizzas. The place tends to get crowded during the evening hours, especially in summer. While it lacks traditional restaurant seating arrangements, its unique offerings attract a steady stream of customers.
This is predominantly a juice & falooda center and its located at the heart of Alappuzha City. The best part is they serve a wide variety of juices, milk shakes etc. They don't have restaurant like seating arrangements and the place usually gets crowded during the evening hours and one would find it difficult to find a place to stand as well. If it happens to be a summer season, then the crowd is too much and the staff would be having a good business as well. So in case you happen to be in Alappuzha Coir City, then do try this place at least once. In case of summer, do try out their mango juice\milk shakes.

Wonderful ambience. Totally recommended as long as you're a Tourist. BUT, If you're a bunch of guys looking for a fine place to dine and wouldn't want your evening to get spoiled, I'd suggest you visit some other place. My friends and I came here on 12/2/2018. Once the dishes were ordered, we had to wait another hour and a half for it to arrive. (Even when no other customers were around at the time of our arrival) Once the dishes did arrive it got much worse. The Cheese pancake was near unpalatable and even the fresh lime juice was way too bitter. In short, the service and the food were nothing short of pathetic. The service could be greatly improved upon if you treat all your customers alike just like almost all other restaurants do.

Restaurant
Hotel Yuvaraj is a top choice for those seeking delicious and healthy food in Alleppey. The restaurant offers a wide range of veg and non-veg dishes that are both tasty and reasonably priced. The staff, including the attentive server named "Prince," provides excellent service, making guests feel welcome and well taken care of. The ambience is pleasant, adding to the overall dining experience. Visitors can expect fast service and an impressive variety of flavorful options on the menu.
We went to the restaurant for dinner and it was amazing. Chicken roast Kerala style and Paneer Butter Masala were some of the best we ever had. All in all a very good service and quality. Highly recommended!

Super tasty and not expensive restaurant! We had a dinner and then a breakfast, and it was delicious and good amount. The crew is also nice.

Ordered biriyani & meals for lunch. Lunch was good with lots of side dishes & even fish curry. But biriyani I'll never recommend, there wasn't even any flavour to it, just rice and meat soaked in masala. Price was very reasonable but the taste wasn't good.
Jyothish K — Google review
The parotta tasted good, but I had ordered egg curry. However, the bill mentioned egg roast. This hotel seems to be run by fools who don’t know the difference between the two. Moreover, the egg was stale.

Family restaurant
Memories Multi Cuisine Restaurant is a family restaurant located in the heart of Kuttanad. The warm and friendly staff will ensure that you enjoy your meal. The restaurant offers a wide range of Indian, Chinese and Asian cuisine. You can also order from the à la carte menu or choose from the extensive buffet. There is something to suit everyone's taste at Memories Multi Cuisine Restaurant.
Memories Restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience with a good ambiance and adequate parking, making it a convenient spot to visit. We started with the seafood and mushroom soup, which was quite good and flavorful. The salmon grill was the highlight of the meal—it was very well prepared and a definite recommendation. The fish fingers, however, were average. They had a bit too much coating, which overshadowed the fish itself. Reducing the amount of breading would significantly improve this dish. Overall, the restaurant has some strong points, particularly with its main courses. With a few tweaks to the appetizers, it could be an excellent choice for a meal out.
Manju K — Google review
We recently attended a marriage fixing ceremony at Memories, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant is set in a beautiful and serene location—ideal for a calm and relaxed dining experience. It’s a great spot for hosting special occasions, especially in the evening when the lush greenery adds to the ambiance. The food was decent overall. Appam and Fish Moilee were okay, while the beef dish wasn’t quite up to the mark. However, the Chicken 65 was really good—crispy and flavorful. The vegetarian items were also nicely prepared and enjoyable. Desserts were delicious—especially the tender coconut pudding, which was a standout. Looking forward to visiting again once they’re fully up and running. The potential here is strong, and with a few refinements, it could become a standout dining destination in Kuttanad.

We tried the Spicy Chicken Soup, Chicken Fried Rice, Noodles, Chilli Beef, Chilli Chicken, and Dragon Chicken — and overall, the food was delicious and the ambience is worth mentioning The soup was warm and flavorful with just the right spice. Fried rice and noodles were well-cooked and tasty. Dragon chicken stood out with its texture and flavour. Both Chilli Chicken and beef were spicy, saucy, and cooked perfectly. Good service, generous portions, and great value. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving Indo-Chinese food.

Marari Beach is one of those rare places where nature still whispers in peace. Located away from the usual tourist crowds, this beach offers a clean, unspoiled shoreline with golden sands and gentle waves. The beach is beautifully maintained, with hardly any litter, making it a perfect spot for long, peaceful walks or quiet reflection. What makes Marari truly special is its tranquility. It’s not a place buzzing with activity or beachside shacks. Instead, it's calm, quiet, and mostly secluded, which adds to its charm. We stayed one week and it was wonderful. Too bad there are very big waves so it's not easy to swim. The beach is clean.. not 100% but clean. There was a big procession and thousands of people left there garbage but the next morning it was clean.

Very good and decent beach, has very little crowd and peaceful. Difficult to change dress so better not to make any swimming unless you made prior arrangements. Small shops are available for cool drinks and soda. People there will charge 100/- for 2 chairs and umbrella to rest for some time.

Marari Beach is located close to Aleppey. This beach is a less crowded place, but I feel needs a lot of improvement in the development of Beach & it's infrastructure.

Very clean and nice beach. Beach having good parking facility , toilet facility is also available at the beach.
Makarand S — Google review
Marari Beach is such a clean and beautiful stretch of coastline – even though we could only stay for 10–15 minutes due to the rain, we absolutely loved it! The vibe is peaceful and refreshing, perfect for just sitting back and soaking in the sea breeze. We were there with our dog, and he enjoyed it too. It’s a lovely spot if you're looking for a quiet moment by the sea. The beach umbrellas were a nice touch – they charge ₹100 per hour, but since we stayed for just about 15 minutes, they fairly charged us ₹50. Despite the short visit, the experience was memorable. If you’re anywhere near Mararikulam, I’d definitely recommend stopping by Marari Beach – it’s calm, clean, pet-friendly, and just what you need to unwind by the sea.

Visiting Arthunkal Church was a truly peaceful and uplifting experience. The moment I stepped onto the church grounds, I felt a deep sense of calm and serenity. The beautiful architecture, especially the altar and the wooden carvings, left a lasting impression. The church is not only a place of devotion but also a space that welcomes everyone, regardless of background. I could feel the strong spiritual energy that so many people talk about. It's clear why this place is considered sacred and miraculous by many. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Kerala to stop by Arthunkal—even if you're not religious, the atmosphere alone is worth the visit.

One of the very few basilicas in India. It is an old catholic church which is a famous haunt of pilgrims from all over Kerala. The church is in the name of St Sebastian. It is believed that a European ship facing the imminent threat of shipwreck was miraculously saved near the place and a church was built there in memory of that miraculous divine intervention. The beautiful old church is still kept intact but a very large basilica was built beside it. Tens of thousands of pilgrims and tourists come to the basilica every year. There are beautiful statues and paintings showing the martyrdom of St Sebastian. There is a grotto in the shape of a ship.

The International Coir Museum, located in Kalavoor, Alleppey, is a small but fascinating institution that showcases the history and evolution of the coir industry. Visitors can explore exhibits on traditional coir production methods as well as the latest advancements in the field. The museum features unique coir-made objects and offers a brief video presentation that takes guests through the journey of coir from its origins to modern developments. With its convenient location just 8.
This exceptional museum, integrated within a coir processing and manufacturing facility, boasts a well-organized layout and numerous engaging exhibits. Displays effectively illustrate the diverse applications of coir in various building materials. Furthermore, the museum showcases the evolution of machinery used throughout the years, culminating in a view of contemporary equipment and a glimpse into the factory's active production floor. A small souvenir shop is conveniently located at the exit.

If you're in Alleppey, it's a good way of spending your day exploring this museum. The staff is very cooperative and friendly, in terms of any queries or curiousity about the museum. You can also visit the actual training area within the museum campus where the coir fibres are being woven.

Interesting museum, fascinating to see what can be made from the humble coconut. Quite small and so it was over quickly. I would have liked more detailed information on the exhibits and was disappointed there was no gift shop.. Also no cash or card payments were allowed which is a problem for tourists Luckily our tuktuk driver paid on Google pay and we reimbursed him.

The museum was well maintained with products made of coir and the machines used to make it. It can definitely be visited along with the family for 20 minutes.
Harish D — Google review
Visited the International Coir Museum at Apoor, Kalavoor recently. The museum primarily offers displays of coir products, but there were no guides available to provide explanations or insights about the exhibits. We purchased tickets for the visit, and while the museum is clean and organized, the collection of coir arts was not very large during our visit. Interestingly, they also sell ice creams inside the museum, which was a nice treat for children. Despite the limited exhibits, children enjoyed the visit and found the displays interesting. The museum is decent for a short visit, especially for families with kids who want to get a basic idea of coir products and local crafts. Overall, it’s worth visiting if you are in the area, but don’t expect a very detailed or extensive coir collection. Having a guide or more information about the exhibits would definitely enhance the experience.

The Alleppey Backwaters, also known as the Alappuzha backwaters, are a must-visit destination in Kerala. This picturesque network of tranquil waterways is surrounded by lush greenery and charming villages, offering a serene and peaceful experience for all types of travelers. Originally used for transportation, fishing, and agriculture, the backwaters have now become a popular tourist hotspot.
It's a pure beauty of nature. We've visited here many times either with family or friends. In most of the times we taken some houseboat services or tourist boat services. But in the recent time, we planned for a change and taken a small open boat for the 360 degree view and also for taking photos from all directions. It was very awesome experience. We wished it would never end. Also the boat driver taken us for some adventure. It's a must-visit place at least once for everyone in the world.

A very enjoyable trip on a boat with two private rooms. You can take a one-day tour with food and air-conditioned rooms. The team we went with was very nice, but it is not recommended for those who suffer from sea or water sickness, but the place and the experience are worth it.

God’s own country truly justified. Backwater’s beauty is really good. There are government boat available from Jetty. Private boat also available, rate may vary season wise. If you want to explore narrow canal, then rent small boat. Rate 800 per hour. But, narrow canal view is really mind blowing.
SAIKAT M — Google review
Alleppey backwaters is nothing short of magical. Often referred to as the “Venice of the East,” this serene destination in Kerala offers a unique blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and cultural richness. Cruising through the interconnected canals, lakes, and lagoons on a traditional houseboat is an experience unlike any other. The lush green paddy fields, swaying coconut palms, and charming villages along the banks create a postcard-perfect setting. The houseboats are well-equipped with modern amenities, and the warm hospitality of the staff adds to the charm. Freshly cooked Kerala cuisine, especially the seafood, is a treat for the taste buds. You can choose between a day cruise or an overnight stay, though spending a night under the stars in the calm waters is highly recommended for a truly immersive experience. One practical tip: book your houseboat in advance, especially during peak tourist season. Also, carry cash, as digital payments may not be widely accepted in some areas. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, romance, or a glimpse into local life, Alleppey backwaters deliver on all fronts. It’s a must-visit for anyone exploring Kerala — peaceful, picturesque, and soul-soothing.
Devansh R — Google review
Before exploring Kerala i thought this would be the best compared to munnar, but it's too hot at this place and a lot of mosquitoes at night where the house boat is parked. I don't recommend a single room house boat , prefer deluxe boats with 3-4 rooms unless your priority is privacy. House boats roam for 1-2 hours and later park at a place and they don't cover large areas and won't stop at places we want. If you want to roam a specific area you need to take small boats to take control of places to see. My dinner plan at the boat was upset, I couldn't capture pics at that lighting and we can't have a peaceful dinner due to a lot of mosquitoes. I suggest taking mini boats for roaming and book a good resort and have a peaceful dinner near the pool. If you want to stay at a house boat compulsory then book a shared boat with 3 or 4 rooms for a low cost compared to a single room one and pre discuss what they cover and where they will take

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chilled Out Day at Alleppey Backwaters – With Office Colleagues Hi all, Me and my office colleagues had a fun trip to Alleppey Backwaters! We were staying at Ernakulam, and from there we visited Fort Kochi and rented bikes to ride down to Alleppey — the ride itself was exciting! 🛵🌴 We took a small boat ride through the backwaters. At first, it was really thrilling, but after some time, the slow pace made some of us feel sleepy 😅. Still, it was peaceful and relaxing. The best part? The boat driver stopped mid-way where there are small floating shops! We tried masala soda there — it gave us a sudden energy boost! 💥🧊 After that, we requested the driver to drop us back quickly because we were all super hungry. We headed straight to Aramana Restaurant for some good food. Overall, a great experience with lots of laughs and good memories. Just a tip: bring some snacks and music if you're planning a long boat ride 😄

Indian Coffee House in Alappuzha is a popular dining spot known for its diverse menu offerings. From Chinese and Thai to Italian and fast food, this restaurant has something for everyone. Whether you're craving seafood or other delectable dishes, Indian Coffee House is sure to satisfy your culinary desires. With its wide range of cuisines, it's a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts in Alappuzha.
The cafe is well-known for it's cutlets. Many find the price to be very reasonable. The cutlets were good, but anticipated a little bit more. The Bombay toast was just average, one side of bread slice has black burnt spots. Apart from that, everything was great.

I bought chapattis and chicken from the hotel. For 9 chapattis and two chicken fry it cost 400+ and the food was just average. Here the staffs and the service is so good. Just suggesting, as the number of hotels in the area are increasing ( providing good quality and affordable amount) this might affect ICH. Considering this and working accordingly will increase customer in the hotel and the hotel management won't end up saying, it's not profitable.
Riya N — Google review
Visited Indian Coffee House, Kalavoor (Alappuzha) on 19th October 2025 around 8:05 AM with a group of eight members for breakfast. We ordered poori, baji, tea, and a few other items, but even after waiting for more than 45 minutes, the food was never served. When we asked the staff, the person who took our order had completely forgotten about it and instead started arguing unnecessarily. Finally, we had to leave the restaurant without having any food. It was a very disappointing experience, and such service really affects the goodwill and reputation of Indian Coffee House. Hope the management looks into this seriously and improves the staff behavior and service quality.

Its just ok one among the Indian coffee house restaurants. Not up to the level of experience from an Indian coffee house. Very basic not maintained or keeping good like other outlets. We realise its an Indian coffee house only when we saw the staffs uniform. But otherwise its keep good on there foods staffs behaviour etc are good or same as other outlets. There are many good things too like big restaurant which can accommodate a larger crowd and enough parking space good air and sunlight enough space between tables but there is some problem also like untidy wash area not enough toilets and its way dirty too. Staffs are behaving good but they are too busy when nearly full, they don't wait for completion of the order we have to wait more for any further orders. And the prices are most likely same as other Indian coffee house.

It was mostly empty when we went in for dinner. They don't have a printed menu. Ordered one chicken kathi roll and one lemon soda. Kathi roll didn't have egg layer which is the staple, otherwise it was decent. They have parking for 3-4 cars outside.

I had a decent experience at Eden Garden Restaurant. The food, especially the Pal Kappa with Chicken and Chicken Kabab with Butter Naan, was okay. However, the service and atmosphere were good, creating an overall pleasant dining experience.

Food had slight sweetness in all types of cuisine that I ordered.. food was served hot.. good ambience and parking is available in front of the restaurant 1/1/24: 2nd review Tried kabab platter, pal Kappa. Platter was enough for 3 people and was tasty too... Pal Kappa was delicious too.

We loved the quieter environment. Such a wonderful place to relax. Ordered Chattichoru, Veg Fried Rice, Chilly gobi & Chattichoru was yumm 😍 More than that, the staffs were very friendly and they served food with love. Also ordered Mango & Strawberry Margarita, I liked Mango Margarita better. It tasted like raw mango drink, will be a good choice for mango lovers. We will visit again.. Thankyou Eden Garden ☺️

A cozy little area. Loved the ambience. Though we were in for lunch seated outdoor, the high ceiling and the proper ventilation were helpful in that scorching heat. Ordered 1 Chatti Chor and 2 Chicken Biriyani Chatti would be fine for two people and it had fried fish, egg fry, beef fry, mussels fry, 2 types of veggie, papad, coconut chutney and pickle. Biriyani was average. Comparatively small sized chicken.

We went to this restaurant because of the good reviews it had on Google and we were not wrong. Delicious food at a good price, fantastic attention from all the staff. In fact we repeated and returned the next day.

The food was very spicy. We had the fried rice, a roll, beef stew and garlic chicken. It's probably fine for a local palad. The lime soda was delicious.

Outdoor Activities
Andhakaranazhi Beach, located 30 kilometers from Kochi, is a hidden gem that offers a relaxed and uncommercialized coastal experience. This virgin beach is an extension of the village of Andhakaranazhi and remains relatively unexploited by tourism. The area is known for its picturesque views of the Arabian Sea, pristine sandy shores, coconut groves, and quaint lighthouse. Fishing is a common sight here as it serves as the main occupation for locals.
Beautiful and scenic view in andhakaranazhi beach A little crowded but that was because I went on a weekend day Other wise really good place to visit :)
Anantha N — Google review
Witnessed one of the best sunset recently. The beach sets the mood right with its scenic beauty. Always a good choice for family outing. It seems a bit crowded on weekends. Parking facility is available.
Greeshma A — Google review
It's a relatively less crowded beach, offering a peaceful escape with views of the sea breeze and a natural underwater ridge. Visitors often enjoy walks, relaxation, and watching the sunset.
Hasna H — Google review
A perfect weekend beach with a lot of local snack shops. Used to be much better but due to lack of maintenance and care, it has declined in aesthetics. Avoid going to the right side of the beach, bcoz that is where people come to do religious rituals so best areas will be to the left side. And avoid littering.
Amith A — Google review
The local beach is a popular destination for families seeking relaxation, and it offers sightseeing opportunities. However, individuals unfamiliar with the area might not feel entirely safe there.
ANEESH S — Google review
Andhakaranazhi Beach is a peaceful and scenic beach in Alappuzha district. It is located in Pattanakkad Grama Panchayat of Cherthala Taluk, about 30 km from Alappuzha and 48 km from Kochi. The name means "depth of darkness" and is known for its natural beauty. Features of Andhakaranazhi Beach * Sea-Backwater Confluence: This is an estuary where the Arabian Sea and the Vembanad Backwater meet. This rare confluence makes this beach even more beautiful. * Lighthouse: There is a beautiful lighthouse here, which is about 30 years old. It is a major attraction of this coastal area. * Walkway: An aerial walkway has been built here that extends into the sea. It helps tourists to see the most beautiful views of the sunset. * Fishing Village: Since it is a typical fishing village, you can see the traditional lifestyle of fishermen here. * Movie Location: The beauty of Andhakaranazhi has been the backdrop for songs in many Malayalam movies. The beach has small eateries and other facilities available for visitors. It is visited by a large number of tourists on weekends. How to reach Andhakaranazhi? * By Road: It is easily accessible by road from Kochi and Alappuzha. From Kochi, take the National Highway 66 (NH 66) and turn onto Andhakaranazhi Road from Thuravoor. * By Train: The nearest railway stations to Andhakaranazhi are Cherthala and Vayalar. From these stations, you can reach the beach by taxi or autorickshaw. * Airport: The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport (COCHIN International Airport - COK). You can book a taxi from the airport and go directly to the beach. The best time to travel is from October to March, when the weather is pleasant.

I recently visited Andhakaranazhi Beach near Cherthala, and it was a beautiful and peaceful experience. The place is calm and less crowded, perfect for those who want to relax away from the usual tourist rush. The scenic view of the backwaters meeting the sea is simply amazing, especially during sunset. There’s a lighthouse nearby that adds to the charm, and the bridge over the canal makes for some great photo spots. The beach area is clean and well-maintained, and you can find a few small shops and stalls around for snacks and refreshments. Overall, it’s a great spot for an evening walk, photography, or just to unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in or around Cherthala!
Harigovind R — Google review
This beach is a beautiful and quiet place, far from the crowds. It’s best to visit in the evening for a peaceful walk along the shore. The tides are strong, so swimming is not safe. The beach is not well-maintained, and there are no changing rooms. Parking is also limited. However, it’s still a great spot to enjoy nature and relax.

Nature & Parks
Vijay Park, situated on the southern side of the Alappuzha backwaters in Kerala, is a delightful initiative by the state government. It features an array of activities for both kids and adults, including swings, slides, thrilling rides, boating facilities, and a toy train that takes children around the park. Additionally, there's Amaze World with electronic games and a 9-D Theatre.
Very enjoyable experience from this park. Entering fee 20 rupees of this park . Caiking is available only 60 rupees, 04 person in single boat . Video gaming is available after pay 50 rupees per game . Mostly gaming machine not work only two to three work. Overall this park made for children enjoying. Maintenance of this park is not on time so condition of park is very pathetic.
Satyam R — Google review
My grandma enjoyed visiting the park but it needs some maintenance. 20/- bucks for adults, but mainly geared towards little kids and seniors for a relaxed time. Some things in the park are broken, and some attractions require extra payment. They have a small cafe and a gaming spot that attracts teens. Keep in mind that most rides come with an additional cost. Overall, it's a family-friendly place, perfect for a day out, but an upgrade is needed!
Anood F — Google review
I do not recommend this place, especially for families with young children. The staff, particularly in the amusement area, were unprofessional and rude, showing little regard even toward kids. The overall service was extremely poor. The amusement park inside does not accept convenient payment options such as GPay, which makes transactions difficult. Moreover, the rides are not well-maintained—many are chipped, broken, or appear unsafe for children. Cleanliness and safety standards seem to be completely neglected, which is concerning when families are paying ₹50 per ride. As a parent, I strongly advise against bringing children under 10 years old here, as both the facilities and staff attitude fail to ensure a safe or enjoyable experience.
Anjali V — Google review
Park near the alappey beach by Dtpc. good for kids for a picnic.Neat and clean area..but There is no appropriate lightings in night time. The amusement area have seperate fees. Rides and swings are less.
Muhammad S — Google review
Worst park ever… please don’t waste your time coming here. Some staff members are polite, but most of them behave as if visitors are disturbing their free time. Especially the lady at the ticket counter—she is extremely rude, unprofessional, and carries a pathetic attitude. Instead of welcoming customers, she treats them with arrogance and disrespect. With such behavior, no one would ever want to come back. Even if the park is not maintained properly, people may adjust if the staff are kind and helpful. But when the person sitting inside the counter behaves in such a hostile and unfriendly manner, it completely ruins the experience. If the management has no intention of improving this place and wants it to turn into an abandoned park, then keeping such an employee is the fastest way to achieve that. This park near Alappuzha Beach has the potential to be a wonderful attraction, but in its current state—with poor maintenance and shockingly bad staff behavior—it is nothing short of a disgrace.
Neethu W — Google review
Visited vijay park with my wife and 01 year daughter... Feels like they don't even concerned on safety.. proper lights are not there ... Also no special rides, still.having conventional items... Better don't go here with kids .. Not properly maintained...
Saran B — Google review
A pretty well maintained park with a bounty of activities. The focus is on tots and kids. There is a rising bull, dashing cars, children's play equipments, skating, ATV rides, boating in the pool and more. Attached to it is the amaze world which hosts another set of electronically controlled games and activities which includes a 9-D Theatre, rides, arcade, food court, toy train and more. Being located on the shores of the sprawling and lengthy Alappuzha beach, the park presents an immense potential to draw in crowd.

Hostel
goSTOPS Alleppey is a charming and unique hostel located in the heart of the town, offering a fantastic stay experience. The vintage property exudes character and provides exceptional service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The hostel features spacious rooms with a lovely vibe, some even offering balconies with views of the nearby canal. The in-house kitchen serves delicious food and the overall location is satisfying, despite not being directly on the beach.
Great getaway for backpackers, students and hitchhikers. Wonderful layout of beds and privacy even in dorms....as an architect I would say it was one of the most efficient usage of space and design in the bed layouts. The people here are also friendly and cool. Have a great outdoor area and an indoor common space ...it was a chill getaway...in a prime location. They have the best pets 💜
Neha A — Google review
This was my first time stating at a hostel and I must say it was beyond my expectations. It is located in a great place and is just a few hundred metres away from the Alapuzha beach. The rooms were clean and spacious. Each room has 8 dorm beds and an attached bathroom. Bedsheets, blankets and pillow covers were changed everyday . The rooms and bathrooms were cleaned on a daily basis as well. AC is provided in every room , which makes it even better. The building is built in a pretty old fashioned design, adding to its charm. Hot water is available all the time. Lockers are provided in the rooms for luggage. Everyone at the hostel is friendly and the staff are quite helpful. Our host , Raihan helped us a lot with our itinerary, renting scooters, cafe recommendations, etc. It's a really peaceful environment as no one tries to bother you. At the reception and waiting area , there are many board games for us to enjoy. There are even cushioned chairs with tables provided for working, reading books, etc. Outside there are 2 dining tables for us to bring our own food and eat. There are very cute pets present on the property as well . All in all, it's a great place to stay for people looking for affordable and budget friendly options.

I hate gostops but this property is just awesome, really homely, rustic & aesthetic. The management is great both subin and the other guy from kochi, they're extremely helpful and nice guys. Location is also great and dorms were spacious. Some things could be maintained a bit better

Hospitality and staff are very friendly and helpful. I had missed my train after checking out from gostop, still I had called Subin who is the centre manager, he helped me out. Also, he suggested food to try and how to reach Varkala and Kochi. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The place is comfy and decent compared to Gostops in north but the hospitality is much better and makes up for that.

HORRIBLE STAY Don’t get fooled by the images and reputation. This property was an absolute nightmare! The room was suffocatingly small, with no proper door, no windows, and zero ventilation — it felt like being locked inside a jail cell. The toilet literally opens into the room without any door, which is beyond unhygienic. The entire place has the smell of mould. They try to mask it with room spray, but the mix of chemicals and mould smell makes it even worse and unbearable. Within a few hours, I developed severe allergies and cold symptoms. I ended up sneezing the whole night! There are no cupboards, racks, or even a table to keep your things. I had to leave my luggage, including valuables like a camera and laptop bag, on the floor which was very damp. There is a big door to the room but it's kept closed and a small almirah like door is given for using. Accessibility and Safety of using this small door is zero. This level of negligence in all aspects of providing a stay is unacceptable.

Hindu temple
Udupi Sri Krishna Temple, located in Alappuzha, is an ancient and popular pilgrimage site in Kerala. The temple, built in the 8th century AD, showcases typical Kerala style architecture and is renowned for serving Pala Payasam to devotees. The majestic granite structures with copper pyramidical roofs were built by the local ruler Chembakassery Rajah.
Good Sree Krishna deity Resembles of Udupi Sree Krishna mutt. Most of the photos uploaded are wrongly misleading to Udupi mutt in uduppi not from Alappuzha. Went there for darshan 1st time. Serene environment in main road 🛣️ Same like in Ekm Hanuman kovil, @ Madhwa Mandir these temples are rooted with pejavar, uduppi mutt. Blessed to have blessings and prasad from here. Parking is a challenge for 4 wheelers on the main road. But you can park inside the temple if both gates are open.

The Great Backwaters is a breathtaking expanse of interconnected lakes, rivers, and canals that beckons nature enthusiasts to explore its beauty aboard traditional houseboats known as Kettuvallam. Nestled in Alleppey, or Alappuzha—often referred to as the "Venice of the East"—this enchanting destination rivals any European city with its rich history and vibrant culture.
I had two rides in backwaters one with a big boat and ine with the small canoe. I would suggest canoe one because you feel more in tune with the nature. Bring umbrella or something to protect yourself from the sun

A daytime boat drive through the Alleppey Backwaters is an absolutely mesmerizing experience! As you glide across the tranquil waters, you're immediately struck by the overwhelming natural beauty. The banks are a riot of lush green coconut palms leaning gracefully over the canals, their reflections shimmering in the water. You'll pass by vibrant paddy fields, stretching out like emerald carpets, and get glimpses of local life – villagers going about their daily routines, children playing by the water's edge, and traditional coir-making activities.

The Alleppey backwaters are a genuinely tranquil and remarkable place to visit. Alleppey, also known as Alappuzha, is often called the "Venice of the East," and it truly is, with its harmonious system of canals, lakes, and lagoons bounded by verdant paddy fields and swaying palms. A houseboat cruise through these serene waters provides a unique opportunity to sink into the leisurely pace of rural Keralan life. With options ranging from basic to luxurious, the houseboats themselves are cozy and well-equipped. The traditional Keralan cuisine served onboard also adds a delightful cultural touch. It's just enchanting to drift through peaceful villages, and watch the sun set over the water.Beyond the scenic beauty, it's the peaceful ambiance that makes the Alleppey backwaters so special. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, it’s a perfect escape from the chaos of city life.

Alappuzha backwaters are honestly a beautiful and relaxing place to be. The views are stunning with calm waters, coconut trees, and little villages along the way. We took a houseboat ride and it was such a peaceful experience, perfect for just chilling and enjoying the vibe. The best part is, you have options based on your budget, either you can catch costly houseboats, or economical shikkaras, or even super cheap govt boats to travel around. Only downside was that some areas felt a bit crowded and could be better maintained. But still, it’s one of those must-visit places in Kerala. Great for a slow, scenic day out.
Akhil R — Google review
Floating on a houseboat through the backwaters of Alleppey was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve ever had. The calm waters, lined with coconut palms and small villages, created a postcard-like scenery. Life moved at a slow pace here, fishermen casting nets, kids waving from the banks, and birds gliding across the water. The gentle rocking of the boat, combined with delicious local meals served onboard, made the journey unforgettable. Watching the sunset over the backwaters, with the sky turning shades of orange and pink, felt magical. It was the kind of experience that stays in your memory forever.

Exceptional food and service. Most polite and hospitable people I’ve met so far! My partner and I had been travelling the whole day and it was hot and we were craving for a parotta and chicken curry. The restaurant was almost closing and didn’t have any material for parotta left but they still prepared a delicious and scrumptious chicken curry FROM SCRATCH- enough for the two of us and arrange parotta from a nearby hotel. 12/10 would recommend going there. Apart from the food, service and the view, we met a beautiful and friendly cat there which made my experience even better. ❤️

WARNING: NOT LIKE THE PHOTOS ON HOSTEL WORLD! SEE PHOTOS I’VE POSTED. We arrived to the hostel and found no one in the front lobby. I had to walk deep into the messy kitchen to find someone, who told me that the person that could help me wasn’t there so I had to walk around the building and to the back to find someone who could show us to our room. They showed us our room immediately. It was not like the pictures. The FAN WAS COVERED IN BLACK MOULD, more than I’ve ever seen. The bed SHEET HAD STAINS AND HOLES all over it, and the bed was rock hard. The path to get back to where I finally found someone to greet us smelled of urine. The lobby of the sleeping area was abandoned and had clothes and dirt all over. We immediately decided to leave and find something better. We walked down the street to Lemon Dew Beach house and it was amazing for pretty much the same price (1000 rupees for sea shore vs 1300 rupees for lemon dew). Really not sure how this got 8.8 on Hostelworld.

Didn’t stay here but the food is amazing this was literally the best veg thali I’ve had in India - super cheap as well! If you are here don’t skip this place for lunch 10/10 recommend. Also the lady who runs the place is super lovely!

Great food! The whole family is very sweet. We didn’t actually stay at the property but next time we’ll definitely stay here. Right on the beach. Great vibes. Trying the Thalis is a must. The hosts are very generous and you will experience an authentic taste of Kerala when you stay here.

Best sleep I've had in India, even though visually the room is very basic. The owners are so nice and genuine, it made the stay one to come back to. The restaurant on property offers the best food I've had in Kerala. Would gladly come again next year.

I stayed here in 2015. The family and food were excellent. I stayed in one of the round houses outside. No fan but a great sea breeze. They also hired us scooters at very reasonable prices.the place is a bit grubby but it suited us. We stayed 4 days. Loved it.
Steve N — Google review
We only followed a cooking class, and this was a great experience. We could choose some dishes from the menu we wanted to learn. They invited us in the restaurant kitchen and kindly explained everything. The experience and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend to follow a cooking class here if you like a homely class!

Had an awesome time staying at this place. Affordable price, sea-facing, beautiful view, lots of space, great comfort. The management is too sweet and great. Very helpful. You can ask them for anything you need and they would try their best to help you out. The place is very close to the sea and you get a nice view from the restaurant. The place is quite airy and well decorated. Overall , a perfect place to stay near beach.

Restaurant
Chilla Art Cafe, located near Alleppey Beach and Lighthouse, is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The cafe offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes like peanut masala idli and grilled sandwich platters in a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxing with friends or family. In addition to serving artisan coffee, the cafe also functions as an art gallery showcasing local talent. With its fusion dishes that blend local spices with international recipes, it's no wonder this place is a crowd favorite.
Chilla Art Cafe was a truly wonderful experience, especially at night. The peaceful ambiance and photogenic frames made it a perfect spot to relax. If you're looking for a unique and enjoyable evening, I highly recommend visiting Chilla Art Cafe.
HARIPRASAD K — Google review
“A complete disappointment. Drove 40 km and wasted fuel just to reach this place, only to eat and smoke absolute nonsense. The place is poorly maintained, and it feels like the restaurant is just a front for something else—there’s no other explanation for such terrible service and food. The hookah was the worst I’ve ever had, with smoke that tasted like burnt rubber. Never again.”
RAHUL N — Google review
Chilla Art Cafe, Old Picnic Spot has a very special ambience that one cannot see in any other resort or restaurant or cafe.
Shihymon L — Google review
Had a very light lunch here on Monday. The place felt a bit off at first since we were the only ones there — maybe it’s busier during peak hours. The vibe seemed more suited for people looking to hang out and smoke rather than just have a meal. Wouldn’t really recommend it if you’re just stopping by for food.
Aman V — Google review
The food was not at all what I expected it to be. Below average taste and prices are very high. The noodles were burnt, the parotta chicken was very weird to taste, and the prawns were undercooked. The fish fry was the only good thing but it was Rs 800, this wasn't mentioned in the menu. Taste was good but definitely not worth 800. The drink tasted like a medicine drink, it was terrible. We also had to wait around 30 mins, and there were only 3-4 occupied tables at that time, so don't know why so much delay. Only good thing is that the ambience is nice. Still there were many dirty tables and the fan was not working in one place.

Excellent place to be when in Alleppey with some passionate artwork and Lush green garden. I had so many options in Vegetarian dishes too I recommend their freshly Inhouse grown 🥭 and ghee rice with tofu!
Sushanth S — Google review
The food was average but the ambience and the service was top. There exist a lot of scam places where food wasn't good but provide ambience instead to satisfy the visitors. But this is even better than them. This is the best cafe to visit for a good atmosphere in alappuzha beach. Hats off to the man behind those arts.
Sravan S — Google review
A good place if you are looking for an outdoor ambience with fresh air and lots of greenery. The bohemian decoration they have is lovely and adds to the ambience of the place. The music they play out loud is like cherry on top. Food is also good.

Indian restaurant
One of the best vegetarian restaurant in Alleppey according to me. They serve authentic gujarati meal and dishes. Foods were amazing and delicious. The price is little high compare to other restaurant, but the dining experience, food quantity and taste will tell you that the price is justified. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. They were responding very fast. And there is nothing to complaint about the ambience as it is very much family friendly. Overall a great dining experience. Would recommend anyone. Overall ratings:- 1. Foods - 10/10 2. Quantity - 10/10 3. Price - 10/10 4. Service & Behaviour - 10/10 5. Ambience - 10/10

Mahaveer Vegetarian restaurant in Alappuzha, located near the boat jetty, is known for serving good quality food at reasonable prices. It’s a popular spot for travelers. The ambiance is simple and functional, catering mostly to locals and tourists who come for the nearby backwater experiences.

Rates are not reasonable. Charge more for curries and quantity less. Roti prices are high. Complaining to concern food inspector of that area. In fact most of North Indian hotels charging more. Roti why they charging that much.
Babu K — Google review
Food was nice. Service was excellent by all the servers (were flexible). However, atmosphere must be improved.

Prices are high as this could possibly be the only veg North Indian restaurant. Food is good. Authentic. The place can be kept clean. Average cost per person will come around Rs- 200-250/-

Breakfast restaurant
Cafe Paradiso Espresso Coffee Shop is a charming outdoor cafe located by the backwaters canal, offering a mix of local and international cuisine. The cafe provides a cozy atmosphere to enjoy fresh juices, masala chai, and Kerala rose rice biryani. Visitors can also savor the unique flavors of Malabar Biryani while in Alleppey. Additionally, the coffee shop offers great cappuccinos with chocolate sauce and delightful breakfast options like muesli with fruit and yogurt.
Excellent spot to sit down for a soft drink or snack - near where people get on the boats for the backwaters jaunts. Excellent cappuccino. Chap behind counter very friendly and got us a backwaters boat tour for 2 hours for 1200 rupees.

If you are looking for a good spot to have awesome coffee - don‘t look any further! I know it can be hard to find good coffee on India, they use an Italian espresso machine and the coffee is so good! On top of that the barista Raul is such a nice guy and the ambience right at the water is just lovely. 100% recommended!

This is the best coffee shop in Alleppey. Rahul is a great guy and expert barrister. He uses a very good Italian made espresso machine. I know of only 1 other in the area. You will get drip coffee other places. He has food as well. I have included a menu.

One of the best in south india. We have been traveling for more than two weeks in south India and it was so hard to find a good cafe with great food and drinks like cappuccino in a reasonable price. But, this place offers a great menu with a very high quality foods and drinks. Finally, the staff are so nice and friendly. Highly recommend to go and experience it.

This is our third time in Thumboly Beach not far from Alapphuzha. We always stop into Paradiso Espresso when we come into town. Raoul is the nicest, friendliest person. He even remembers us from year to year, The coffee is great and we usually get a bowl of freshly cut, cold, refreshing watermelon. We look forward to sitting by the water and resting with a nice chat.
