Ġgantija Archaeological Park

Archaeological museum
Historical landmark
Museum
The Ggantija Temples, a UNESCO-listed archaeological site located in the village of Xaghra plateau, are believed to be the oldest freestanding monuments in the world. Dating back to 3600 BCE to 3200 BCE during the Copper Age, these temples predate famous landmarks such as Stonehenge and the Pyramids.
If you are interested in ancient history of humanity or architecture then Ggantija is a perfect place to visit. The shear size of the megalithic stones are a sight to behold and will leave you full of questions. How did they move the huge stones? Why was it built? Who built it? How old really is it? As you enter the site you make your way through the museum first and can read about the myth of it being built by a giant and veiw various artifacts found around the temple. You can also have a guided tour via QR codes at each point of interest. They provide toilets located in the museum and whole site is wheelchair accessible. Also I would recommend that you visit the old windmill a few streets away first. The admission to the windmill comes with a discount for the admission to the temple. Soo if you are in Gozo I would definitely recommend to all history buffs.
Lucid F — Google review
Got there early so could read all exhibits and get around without too many people. Initial building is nice and lots of interesting exhibits that bring the temple to life. Super easy to get around. Really worthwhile visit.
Danny A — Google review
The temple was smaller than expected, so don't have expectations based on the name 😄 The small museum that you enter first is quite interesting, but there were two guided companies at the same time as us and they were loud and took a lot of space, so we had to go back to the museum afterwards to see the rest. If you want to get a feel of the place, set aside time to just be there (and maybe wait for guided tours to move on). If you are lucky and can be in one of the temple areas alone, you can better get a sense of the energy and history of the place. You can easily get through it in less than an hour, but if you have time, just enjoy the surroundings and the magical sensation of a temple older than the pyramids.
Michelle A — Google review
Very interesting megalithic/neolithic site, not a far drive from Victoria. Available drop off with the hop on hop off tour. Entry is €10 per person. A couple of toilets on site near entry and exit. The museum portion is short and sweet but still very interesting with many artifacts from this site and others around Gozo. Some scaffolding still in place supporting the structure but the site is still mostly visible. Well worth a visit.
Joel B — Google review
Oldest free standing manmade structures in the world! A thousand years older than the pyramids of Egypt! Excellent museum. Self guided tour around the walls
Daniel À — Google review
Exceeded our expectations. The entrance looked very modest but the exhibition of very early artefacts was stunningly beautiful and impressive. It's hard to imagine that so much creative and functional workmanship can be achieved without the use of metal implements. Even more surprising and impressive was the construction of the multi-chambered building on the site. Quite how this was achieved in an age of low-tech is a mystery. The staff were polite and very helpful. The gift shop was well stocked with an eclectic mix of quality souvenirs, publications etc and (of course) the usual tasteless crap un the budget cost range. Whilst our visit was overall a positive experience, it was somewhat marred by the large tour parties with loud group leaders. To be avoided! Suggested visit duration - not less than an hour. Highly recommended.
Chris E — Google review
Worth a visit. We hired E bikes to get there from the port, as part of a day tour on or own. About 17 mins. Went in Oct. Still busy but pleasant numbers. Wether temp perfect.

TBH, not as preserved as those on Malta but still fascinating. Hit and miss if you avoid the tourist busses. Staff are very nice. They let us come back as we got rained out. They have a nice kids room with lots of activities for the little lovlies

Ta' Ċenċ Cliffs is a stunning natural attraction on Gozo, perfect for nature lovers and hikers. The sunset views are breathtaking, but it's important to arrive early as access may involve crossing private properties. The cliffs are easily accessible by bus from Victoria/Rabat and offer an easy, flat walk with rocky terrain. While the heights may be intimidating for some, the mesmerizing views make it all worthwhile.
Wonderful spot to watch the sunset. Walk to the cliffs is super easy & flat (rocky, but just watch your footing). I’m not good at all with heights, but you wouldn’t know you’re on top of a cliff until you start getting to the edge - where you can can still stay back and enjoy the views. Entrance is through a road marked private property - about a 20 min walk. When you reach the pathway follow straight ahead, don’t take the one on your left
Samantha C — Google review
With a little hike, you can see such gorgeous view. Pick a less windy day, go to Gozo! Would be nice to watch sunset here as well.
Ziling Z — Google review
Wow! The view is priceless. You can either come from Ta' Ċenċ (10 minutes on foot from the bus stop), or you can take a beautiful 3h hike from Mgarr (which we did and it was the highlight of our stay I Malta). The cliffs are just stunning.
Petr B — Google review
We went to see the sunset there and it was incredible.
Aurélie D — Google review
Beautiful. It was a reminder of the Cliffs of Moher at home - but better weather
Aoileann C — Google review
Difficult to find the way - somehow after the parking lot of the spa hotel just going in the direction to the cliffs
Julia H — Google review
Very nice place if you like nature and hiking. My partner and I witnessed the sunset in November, it was windy but gorgeous. I'm afraid of heights, but I managed to walk fine, but cautiously. Do keep in mind: -if you want to see the sunset, do get there ahead of time!! (as you have might have to cross privately properties) -it might not be easy to get to the cliffs (you might need to cross private property) -if you are afraid of heights, the cliffs and views might be too much/frightening
Marfie — Google review
Absolutely incredible. I would recommend having a taxi bring you hear as it is probably a 15 minutes walk from the closest bus stop before you see any cliffs. The views are amazing I’ve never seen anything like it. A must visit while in Gozo.

Ramla Bay is a stunning sandy beach located on the east side of Gozo, Malta. Known for its large expanse of red sand, it is often considered one of the best beaches in the area. During summer, it can get quite crowded due to its popularity. The warm and clear waters of the Mediterranean make it an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing. Visitors can easily access the beach by local transit or on foot, enjoying breathtaking views along the way.
Beautiful beach with orange sand. The beach is not completely crowded, but be prepared to walk for a while to find a spot. Lifeguards are present at the beach. There is a possibility to hike up the cliffs beside the beach in order to reach a cave. This journey gives a spectacular view of the whole Ramla Bay. Just come prepared with proper footwear for the journey.
Patrick S — Google review
It's a smallish beach split into 2. But it is sand and easy to walk into the sea which was amazing. Warm and exciting waves. There's a couple of restaurants and public toilets and a shower. The bus was convenient but popular. I would love to come back.
Louise L — Google review
As beaches go, this was one of the prettiest ones.I have seen here. The day that we were there. The wind was so violent that there was red flags flying. However a lot of people were in the ocean they do have lifeguards watching over which obviously ignored the red flags. The sand is a deep caramel color it looks like crushed up biscuff cookies!!! The wonderful thing is that it has facilities bathrooms and showers and a small restaurant which we did not try. There is a company of men that put up lounge chairs and umbrellas add a cost. Write outside of the beach. We also found a very\nIndustrious man that obviously used his land for a parking for a fee of two euros. There are also several outlets with bathing suits and floaties and things like that if you forgot yours. The road to get there was a little bit harrowing for those of us that don't drive On the left hand of the road because the streets are very narrow and they are two way streets!!! Put all in all a very nice experience. HowEver there are a lot of rocks in the sand so it's hard to figure out where to put your towel if you decide not to get one of the deck chairs!
Noelle M — Google review
Beautiful beach, unbelievable sea. Umbrella and sunbed rental €7 each, all day rates only. See it from Mixta Cave to appreciate it fully.
Lisa K — Google review
This was a truly delightful spot to spend a pleasant afternoon, where you could fully enjoy the entire ocean and the beach. The cave itself was an incredibly adventurous and truly unique natural wonder that you simply don't usually encounter at your typical beach. We are genuinely grateful that we took the time to go take a look up there and spend time at the beach.
Andrew R — Google review
A beautiful sandy beach. Definitely worth the effort to get there. Umbrellas and chairs for rent. Public showers and bathrooms are available.
Mark R — Google review
Lovely place to swim. The watter is shallow for maybe 10 metres, but always pay attention. Can be crowded sometimes and the sunbeds and umbrellas are going for around 7 euro each.
Moran V — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach iconic.....too many rocks and stones in sea - surely can be removed to enjoy it better. Now with showers and good public toilets. Good kiosks too

Pizza Takeout
Pizza restaurant
Maxokk Bakery is a renowned establishment that has been serving traditional Maltese bread and pizza since the 1930s. Despite being primarily a bakery with no indoor seating, it attracts long lines of locals and tourists eager to savor its delectable offerings. The must-try item for any food enthusiast visiting the area is their Gozitan Ftira, which can be enjoyed with craft beer from Gozo at nearby outdoor seating.
Traditional style pizza, made by locals. Very cool places. Its more an insider to go there. Not easy to spot. Waiting time can be a bit longer, since everything is made fresh.
Florian T — Google review
Echoing many other comments. Hole in the wall, traditional. Cash only. >30 min wait time (can order by phone, but might be hard for visitor). Takeaway only (consider driving to a park to eat). A real hidden gem away from many tourists spot. Not *the* best pizza I’ve ever had but it was authentically local. Feels like the walls have stories to tell. Nice experience even if it’s a one woman operation who can be quite terse.
Jack K — Google review
If you’re looking to try something a bit different, you should definitely check out the Ftira pizza. There’s a great variety to choose from, and the ingredients are top quality – fresh and well put together. Just keep in mind it takes around 30 minutes after placing your order, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. The texture and flavour are quite unique – somewhere between a quiche and a pizza. It’s a tasty change from the usual and well worth trying. They accept cash or Revolut, which makes paying super easy too.
Viviana T — Google review
We’d heard great things from this place, so we wanted to go here for the traditional dishes. The shop itself is not very obvious, there was no sign outside and a beaded curtain across the door, so it looked like someone’s house. The staff were not very friendly, and didn’t acknowledge us until we waved them over to the desk. Regarding the food itself, personally I didn’t like it - and that’s my personal taste, nothing to do with the bakery. We had the ‘Local Cheese’ and ‘Maxokk Special’. The local cheese was nice but just tasted like a cheesy omelette. The ‘special’ had an odd fishy taste to it, even though there wasn’t any fish on it. Once you order, you need to wait 30 minutes for the dishes to be made, so find a nearby bar for a drink whilst you wait! I think the Maltese dish is worth a try, but unfortunately, don’t go into it with high hopes.
Jas D — Google review
Very small and local place, but the Ftira was exquisite. Easily shareable by 2 people. 30 minutes wait. One tip: since you cannot eat in, a good idea is to take the ftira somewhere with a good view in Gozo.
Alan A — Google review
Nice food, very tasty. Great portion sizes. This is where the locals go so you know it’s good, worth the wait!
Joshua P — Google review
Very good, it’s worth checking out. If you want to eat there, you’ll have to sit outside.
Michelle B — Google review
A quaint little pizza place—you need to know what to look for, otherwise you will never find it. The pizza lacked flavor, the crust was gummy, and overall it did not live up to expectations. On top, I found the service to be a little dismissive and nonchalant to me compared to the local guests. I tried to order a drink, but she just ignored me so I guess I will spend my money elsewhere. Anyway, the atmosphere was nice enough. I asked my local friends who live nearby, and they told me the same.

Beach
Hondoq ir-Rummien is a sheltered bay with a mix of sand and pebbles, offering opportunities for swimming and snorkeling. The coastline features rocky caves that are popular for snorkeling, with ladders providing access to the water. While the beach is rocky and the sea can be rough and windy, it offers clear, turquoise waters perfect for swimming on calm days.
Beautiful small bay that's not too crowded. Crystal blue water and soft sand. You can jump into the water from the side.
Nadia A — Google review
I like the beach! It's clean and small but has all the facilities 👍🏻👍🏻
Anastasiia D — Google review
If the wind is blowing from NW to SE, this is one of the best beaches to be in. You can choose whether to stay in the more organised part or in the wild one. Plenty of bars and amenities. The only problem is parking, but you will find place on the steep hill on the way.
Edward C — Google review
A beautiful beach, although a bit smaller, but very peaceful with only a few people around. The waves were a little stronger and the water was not perfectly crystal clear, but still nice. The beach is sandy with some pebbles. Nearby there are two affordable fast food places and drinks available, which makes it very convenient. Definitely recommend
Martina V — Google review

A good walk out of the town Qala and you will find this beautiful little beach. It has a lovely swimming area and great walks around the coastline. Plenty of water activities down here. Just be prepared for a steep challenge when walking back up , albeit you will get amazing views of the country side

Nestled in Nadur, Fliegu Bar & Restaurant offers a captivating panorama of the channel, Comino, and Malta. Just a short drive from the ferry port, it provides an unparalleled dining experience with its Sicilian cuisine and popular wood-fired pizzas. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is complemented by friendly staff who ensure exceptional service. Guests rave about the mouthwatering desserts and recommend trying the ribs or seafood starters.
The whole experience is fantastic! Upon entering, you will be greeted by friendly and smiling staff who will make sure that your stay in the restaurant is an exceptional experience! The atmosphere in the restaurant is cordial, pleasant, enjoying the view is a special experience! The food is hard to choose because everything is a specialty! They have an exceptional chef. Don't skip the starter, you won't regret it. My recommendation is ribs or seafood. Everything is taken into account, the way of serving, the tastes, the quantity... the portions are generous, nicely served, always fresh. With a nice glass of wine, light music and a priceless view of the panorama of Gozo, the feeling is homely and pleasant. This restaurant provides an overall atmosphere created by the professional and friendly staff of the restaurant. Thank you for everything, and see you again ❤️

Had lunch here while staying on Gozo, if you’re on the island this has to be on your list. Great, uncomplicated food at reasonable prices. Also, plentiful gluten free options which are hard to find in Malta! Staff were friendly, attentive and the view is amazing. Great smooth music and atmosphere but not overwhelming at all, a group favourite all round. I will be coming back!

Amazing! We had our 2 children with us (3 and 5) and the waitress we had was amazing. She took them to get ice-cream and when my youngest knocked his over she said not to worry and took him to get more. The food was wonderful and had great views over mgarr harbour.

We came here independent of tour groups and ordered from the à la carte menu. Service was a bit on the slow side but that’s understandable since the staff were busy with the tour groups that have lunch here. The food was amazing, especially the fried calamari. It was cooked so well that the calamari seemingly melts in your mouth. Loved the savoury mussels too!

Nestled in the charming village square of Qala, Gozo, Ta' Vestru Restaurant is a delightful family-run eatery that captures the essence of traditional Maltese cuisine while also offering a variety of international dishes. Known for its generous portions and authentic preparation, this cozy spot serves up mouthwatering seafood pasta, hearty rabbit stew, and succulent lamb. While diners may experience a slight wait for their meals—an assurance of quality—the flavors are well worth it.
We stayed in Qala city for 4 days. All for 4 evenings we dined in Ta' Vestru Restaurant. Probably I don’t need to explain why all 4 evenings we were visiting the same place. Amazing food, amazing place for having a romantic evening, very lovely & helpful staff. Every evening we tried different dishes and simply every time they were great. A really excellent Gozitan restaurant in Qala - good selection of food and appropriately priced with large portions with bread included. Would recommend the Gozitan starter platter, fried rabbit with mixed vegetables and pasta dishes. Would recommend a lunchtime booking on a Sunday if you wished to dine inside.

We came here as we toured beautifly island of Gozo. Village Il-Qala is so small and pretty, and this restaurant is amazing and on great location, just in front of the church. The view is amazing, the stuff are so kind and the food is the best. We wanted to try traditionaly rabbit dish, and I’m so glade that we try it here. Prices are also good, we paid 55euros for dinner for two, with coffee, 3 sodas, starters, two main dish, and dessert. They also bring us some homemade bread and cheese with tomatoes and herbs to spread it on. Everything was perfect.
Gabrijela D — Google review
A cozy restaurant in Qala, Gozo. Food was awesome and the atmosphere was perfect, the fact that it is located in the square and all the tables around the place gives it a super cool vibe. Food was just perfect and the service was exceptional. Honestly, I was expecting my food to have a bit of a delay because they were full capacity. I recommend it and I will definitely go back there every time I am in Gozo.

I spent few days in Qala and this has been my place to go for dinner. I had rabbit stew, seabass and the goat cheese and walnuts rolls. I enjoyed each of the dishes. It is very well priced for the quantity of food you get and the quality of it. Definitely if I come back to Qala, I will visit again this restaurant.
Babysooz — Google review
Very good restaurant in a cute town/square. It looks like there’s 2 separate restaurants but they are one and the same. We had fried calamari, pot of mussels, and vegan porcini and truffle ravioli, with some white and rose local wine. Calamari was great… my favourite was the pot of mussels… amazing sauce, dipped the good local bread in it, couldn’t get enough! The Raviolis were also fresh and very tasty… however I would not put the caramelized onions on top, they make the sauce too sweet and oily. They would be amazing just plain topped with some pine nuts, herbs, and white wine sauce. Attentive staff, good service. I recommend this place!!!

Tremendous find a few mins off the ferry. Lovely pastry, excellent bread and a delicious pastizz to boot. Friendly service for us visitors. Genuine local spot. Really cheap (€5 for 6x small pastries, loaf of bread and a pastizz). There is a small playground a couple of meters up the road, perfect for kids. Card payment possible.

Overrated, you have to wait a big line to get worst breakfast ever. I asked for chicken pie and got chicken with pork bbq pizza. A lot of fly's inside sitting on baked goods. And not most respectful locals go there.

This is one of the last few traditional bakeries on the island. It’s easy to find as it’s on one of the villages’ main roads and there are always some people waiting outside for the next fresh oven bake. You will find lots to choose from, they have all sorts of local bread, pastries, etc. It’s a family-run bakery that goes back generations and they’re very passionate about their products. They have frozen goods that can be baked back at home, local type pizza and a vast variety of cakes including seasonal traditional pastries. Not a good shop to visit if you are weight watching.

Highly recommend this place for a special dinner!

Amazing dining experience by the Bay! You can choose your fresh fish off the ice, or even your Lobster from the tank. Highly recommend eating there, staff were very friendly also. Amazing views of the Bay if you dine outside!

Nice place on the water s edge. Food ok however calamari chosen for our mains where a bit tough. Had better in other places in gozo.

We were recommended this restaurant from the place we are staying at, and the food was absolutely delicious, would 💯 recommend this place to eat
Elizabeth G — Google review
Solo diners avoid! I made a reservation for dinner for one, as the place had been recommended by friends, and asked for a table by the shore front on the terrace. When I arrived, the terrace by the shore was mainly empty. Paul (I asked other waiting staff for his name for reasons explained below), the manager / maitre d, gave me the option of either the table exactly by the entrance to the terrace, or on the other side of the street even further away from the shore (where no one was sitting) despite my clear displeasure at this. Frustratingly couples & even other solo diners who came in as walk-ins after me without a reservation (I know they didn't have a reservation because I was close enough to the entrance to hear all of the walk-in requests!) were given a better table; less in the way & closer to the shore. Looking back at previous reviews, it seems that other diners have had similar unpleasant experiences with seating arrangements, where they have also been made to feel unwelcome. The reply by the establishment for these reviews was to book in advance. In my case, I had done exactly that and was still made to feel unwelcome. The only reason I persisted rather than leave at that point was because the place had been recommended by friends. I ordered a bottle of water, a glass of wine, and the main course portion of the linguine kartell. I did not order a starter or anything else as I was still unconvinced as to the hospitality of the place after my earlier encounter. Paul took the order. Regrettably, the service experience did not get better, and the wine was not served despite the straightforward order. When the linguine came, I asked for an update on the wine. They brought out a different wine to the one I ordered. Clearly, the manager was not on top of his game and had not even registered the wine order. Other staff asked about my experience after the linguine was served & I made amply clear my displeasure in view of the above wine issue. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, at no point did Paul approach me to attempt to explain or apologise about the situation. The experience put me off ordering any further items; I would generally also have had dessert and a coffee. The rest of the waiting staff were very nice and accommodating. The linguine dish itself was of good quality and had a good amount of seafood. That said, the surrounding restaurants offer an equal level of cuisine, and my service experience when I visited these other establishments had been far superior. My advice; solo travellers definitely avoid, and for the rest, be prepared to have a service experience depending on the whims of the manager. My advice to the restaurant owner: change manager / maitre d or re-train him in basic hospitality and etiquette, as he is letting down your establishment. In reply to Diane below: Are you suggesting that solo guests should be arguing with your maitre d to get a better table, or else be relegated to the worst table possible, with even walk-ins getting a better table?! It definitely does not make for a relaxing dining experience. Interestingly in your reply Diane you did not address the wine issue. In high standard establishment, when there is a genuine concern, the manager comes to apologise about it. This did not happen, and there was not even a hint of an apology from your end. Instead you conveniently ignored the comment and told me off despite the heartfelt and fair review. Regretfully my service experience ruined my evening and the food and atmosphere could not be enjoyed. If you cannot comprehend this, it seems there are bigger issues here. Thank you Diane. Your imperious reply, labelling a genuine and fair review 'void and time wasting', confirms how you feel about your guests. We will let the readers decide for themselves.

Come for the view but don't expect too much from the the food The pros : beautiful location on the water, food well presented. Grilled calamari was good The cons : taste is ok, but nothing extraordinary. Prices were on the high side, particularly the seafood

Salt Pans are traditional sites for salt production, with geometric patterns of pans near the ocean. In Xwejni, on Gozo's northern coast, ancient techniques are used to harvest artisan salt from these pans. Visitors can purchase this unique salt from nearby shops. On Sicily's west coast near Nubia, travelers can explore the Salt Pans between Trapani and Marsala.
Beautiful view and really not busy when we went to visit- barely any people. Stunning view of the sea, and the salt pans are gorgeous. Had a lovely cocktail nearby.
Done K — Google review
Along Gozo’s rugged northwest coast, the centuries-old salt pans carve a striking geometric pattern into the limestone shoreline. Hand-chiseled by generations of local families, these shallow pools still produce sea salt using traditional methods passed down since the Romans. Visiting at sunrise or sunset offers breathtaking views as the golden light reflects off the crystal-lined pans. Watch as salt harvesters skillfully scrape the mineral-rich crystals—a backbreaking yet cherished craft. The nearby Salt Kitchen shop sells this "white gold" in its purest form, perfect for edible souvenirs. A testament to Gozo’s resilience, the salt pans blend natural beauty with living history. Free to visit, but respect the working areas.
Jack C — Google review
Very nice area to visit and walk around. Beautiful salt pans, easily accessible.
Рахилка С — Google review
So brilliant to see the salt being harvested. Great walking along by the sea. Great for swimming, relaxing and leisurely refreshments.
Liz C — Google review
Beautiful coastal walk along the water, interesting history regarding the salt collection. A nice family sells the salt directly at the location.
Joel B — Google review
As beautiful as the pictures...in Victoria, you can buy Gozo sea salt from here that's several hundred years old! The salt pans are a marvel of nature and located at the end of a pleasant walk or drive from Marsalforn--but I recommend walking for the air.
Danielle O — Google review
You can get here by car. We visited on a Saturday and there was plenty of space to park and then to walk around and explore. This is a free attraction on Gozo. Salt extracted from the pans is available to purchase on site for €6-7.
Melissa H — Google review
Nice bit of coast to see where salt is traditionally still collected over the summer months. Really interesting to see, nice walk along the coastline while you're viewing them. There's a cafe there and public toilets. We went in off season so plenty of places to park, but could see in the summer months that it would be very busy.

"Gozo Unveiled - Hiking in Gozo" offers a variety of coastal paths that encircle the island, making it ideal for novice hikers. While most trails are relatively easy, caution is advised along cliff areas due to potential hazards.
Today was the time for a "new perspective" on Gozo. Instead of putting our heads under the surface of the blue ocean🌊 (we are here for diving), we explored the beauty of the island on a 5 hour hike 🥾, guided by Josette Farrugia (dive instructor as well! 🤙🏻). It was an amazing tour with stunning views 👀 over rough walls, former buildings, green valleys and azure blue bays, mixed with a lot of additional information about the gozian culture, language, history, flora and fauna (I saw a wild living chameleon for the first time of my life! 🤩). 🌴⛱️🌺🐦☀️🕶️ THANK YOU, Josy, for showing us your beautiful homeland and creating a fabulous day for us! 🙏🏻♥️

Quad Bikes Gozo offers an exciting way to explore the island of Gozo with their full-day quad bike trip. The crew is known for being helpful and polite, ensuring a smooth booking process. Customers appreciate the brand new and powerful ATVs that allow them to navigate the island easily. Visitors highly recommend this activity as it provides a unique journey while discovering beautiful landscapes. The staff's valuable advice and assistance contribute to making it a great day out in Gozo.
Prince was of great help to us and had us set up in no time with the paper work and straight onto the quad to venture Gozo. Prince supplied us with a map of all sights to see’s with additional do’s and dont’s and suggesting the best route to round up the evening. Quad was exceptionally comfortable for two people and was great help through some of the tight and hilly roads we experienced. Overall great experience and will recommend.
Robin M — Google review
Great day, good instructions on the day, take photos before and after to show condition of the quads. Easy to book. Lots of luggage space if needed. Only not 5 stars as very expensive deposit required €450 per quad seemed a bit excessive. We had a great day though and would use again, easy access from the bus stop.
Hayley — Google review
We rented a quad and were absolutely thrilled! Our contact person, Prince, was incredibly friendly and helpful – he even waited longer for us because we unfortunately missed our ferry. Despite the delay, he still took the time to explain everything to us thoroughly. And the quad itself? Hands down the coolest one on the entire island! Great condition, super stylish, and an awesome ride. We’d book again in a heartbeat – highly recommended! Huge thanks to Prince for the amazing service 🙌🏼🔥

A truly great dive shop with amazing people. If you’re looking to dive some of the greatest wrecks and beautiful surroundings, then this is the place to come. Tom and the staff and great instructors and will set you up to dive correctly. Super friendly and very professional.

Fantastic shop. Excellent guides. Expert knowledge of diving in Gozo and anticipate the needs of technical divers. We had a fun time diving with their fleet DPVs as well! They even gave us the option to do some boat diving to break up the shore dives. They were very flexible too in terms of dive locations and always had a backup plan in case the wind wasn’t cooperating. They were not just professional but they were also so much fun to spend time with. Can’t wait to come back and do it all over again!!!
Grace M — Google review
Tom Steiner and Gozo Technical Diving it's without a doubt the place to go if you look for excellence in Technical Diving. Superb diving and teaching skills. 10/10
Enol M — Google review
Gozo Technical Diving left us with a disappointing experience after a 6-day diving trip with 4 divers, including 3 CCR divers and 1 OC diver. We had clearly communicated in advance that we wanted to dive on historical wrecks, which was initially confirmed for around €500 per dive. However, upon arrival, the price suddenly increased to €750, and it had to be split between more divers, who eventually showed up only at the end of the 5th diving day, and didn’t even want to do a wreck dive. This led to poor planning and unmet expectations. The owner, Tom Steiner, didn't seem enthusiastic. He showed little involvement, didn’t ask about our experiences, and didn’t offer any tips or advice. Despite paying for unguided dives on top of the equipment rental, there was a clear lack of passion and customer service. For the price you pay, you expect better organization and service. Fortunately, the rest of the staff was friendly, and we met other divers on site. However, the promised wreck dive with the boat never happened. Overall, it was poorly managed by Mr. Steiner, who seemed to prefer smoking his cigarettes at the dive center rather than engaging with his clients.

The Kelinu Grima Maritime Museum is a charming little gem housed in a cozy space, showcasing an impressive collection of maritime memorabilia spanning 65 years. The owner, Mr. Grima, has lovingly gathered these artifacts since he was a young boy. The museum offers a unique glimpse into the maritime history of Gozo, Malta and is well taken care of by dedicated staff who are eager to share their knowledge with visitors.
I was pleasantly surprised at this small-ish museum geared towards everything maritime. The collection covers 65 years of memorabilia lovingly collected and exhibited by the owner. The hours open vary, so check before you go. The woman at the desk was very helpful and happy to point out many of the highlights for us. Well worth a visit!
Theresa J — Google review
This is a museum of the possessions of a local headmaster who used to greet all the ships in his younger days and they would give him souvenirs. This may not sound much but it is a really nice collection and well maintained. I was interested as my father was on many of the ships which visited and it was good to see. It costs a euro or two to visit and the lady on the desk was very informative and generally lovely. Opening times are limited so check ahead.

Visited this little gem of a museum tbis past weekend. There is so much to see and it all belonged to one person who collected all the artefacts in the museum since he was a little boy. The two lovely persons who take care of the museum are trying to do miracles in conserving all the items displayed and are ready to answer all your questions. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Restaurant
Qbajjar Restaurant in Gozo is a popular dining spot offering a variety of cuisines. Located in the vibrant Xaghra village square, it provides a glimpse into the local culinary traditions. The restaurant is known for its local lamb dishes and also offers options like whiskey and cigars. With its Mediterranean and European grill offerings, Qbajjar Restaurant is one of the best places to eat in Gozo.
A great restaurant with a wide range of choice whilst still keeping a great quality. The restaurant is very airy (if you are seated in the main restaurant or outside). A great view of the bay. The food includes a wide choice of freshly caught fish (including specials), a wide choice of Pizzas and a good choice of meat dishes. The service is excellent and with a large group they work hard to get the food out at the same time. I definitely recommend them…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently dined at Qbajjar Restaurant in Marsalforn, Gozo, and it was a fantastic experience! The seafood was incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, with the local flavors shining through. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The views of the bay added to the charm of the evening. I highly recommend the grilled octopus and the homemade desserts! Can't wait to return!
Gebrehiwot T — Google review
We visited this place together with a local who said this place has the best price vs food quality performance on Gozo. I don't know if it is so, but I trust our friend. So I took fish soup, it was tasty, it had fish and rice as main filling plus some other things, a solid 7.5/10 As a starte we also took Mussels and they were really good, nice garlic and vine 9/10. All table took Spaghetti Pescatore as it was suggested to us by our friend and I have to say it was great (I'm not a huge fan of pastas, but this I could eat more) it had rich seafood topping and everything was well made and tasty 9.5/10 And as a dessert I took an apple pie andb my other half took Fondant. Both were ok, well made and balanced with ice-cream. 8/10 What this place lacks is a bit better service. We asked for desserts menu 3 times (to 3 different waiters) until it was finally brought. This place has a nice terrace with view of sea. All in all, I think I would visit this place again if I'm somewhere nearby.
Gundars M — Google review
Amazing food, very fresh and delicious. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Highly recommended 😊
Dorota S — Google review
The restaurant is located right by the sea, offering a beautiful view from both the terrace and the outside area. The staff is friendly, and the dishes are served quickly. There’s a wide selection of wines, as well as craft beers. When it comes to the menu, I believe everyone can find something they like. The prices are similar to those in Rabat on Gozo and on Malta itself. The only downside is that when it’s full inside, it gets quite noisy and it can be hard to have a conversation.
G G — Google review
This restaurant is near the guest house where we stayed. We went just for convenience but we ended up eating here every day because the food was good. It’s also good value for money as the portions are big. You’d better go there hungry.
J G — Google review
Decent, big portion. Octopus starter is good, tuna salad very good it's fresh. Grilled calamari 10/10, but the disappointment comes from the seafood pasta, prawn, king prawn, shrimps and squid are all not fresh, you can taste it's the frozen ones.
Zeqin L — Google review
We visited Qbajjar in Gozo without a reservation and were seated outside, where we could enjoy the warmth and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the mussels cooked in white wine and despite the sauce being on the salty side, the mussels themselves were absolutely fantastic. So fresh, meaty, and perfectly cooked, hands down the best mussels I had during my entire trip to Malta. Although it was listed as a starter, the portion was incredibly generous and could’ve easily passed for a main. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout, and we had no trouble finding a parking space in their car park, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I’d definitely return if I’m ever back in Gozo, just maybe with a side of bread to soak up that salty (but tasty!) sauce. The deserts were nicely presented, and quite delicious.

Mojos is a Mediterranean restaurant in Victoria, Gozo. It offers breakfast and lunch dishes as well as pizzotto variations for dinner. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is delicious. Wheelchair accessible facilities are available.
Each meal we tried was amazing. Their seasoned fries are a must try.

Tried the focaccia and burger for lunch on separate days and they are really tasty. The sweet chili cheddar chips are also a delightful treat. I always eat lunch here whenever I am in Victoria, simply because the establishment is attractive and easy to reach, food is fresh, portions are great, and the service is kind and spot on. Flavoured iced coffees are great too!

Tasty food, variety of options, big portions and quick nice service. We tried a vegan wrap with chickpeas which was tasty, a little bit on a sweet side, but nicely packed and filling. Nice that it was served with a salad, but it had just a little bit too much balsamico dressing. We also had a pizzoto with bacon, parmesan and spinach. The portion was enormous with a lot of filling inside and nicely baked. Overall we were satisifed with everything and we would defintely come back.

Starting with the good things, this place has portions bigger than I expected. Freshly squeezed juice options were great, and overall the food was delicious. Option to pay by card is there. Some drawbacks - they didn't have two things that we wanted from the menu, staff seemed a bit cold in terms of communication and the wait time was not short. Overall, I was still happy with my experience here.

Ta' Philip Restaurant is a top recommendation in Malta for excellent food and service. The menu has a wide variety of dishes, from traditional Maltese food to more mainstream options. The wine cellar is especially impressive, with a great selection of wines from all over the world. Reservations are highly recommended.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ta Philip Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was simply outstanding. I particularly recommend the Suckling Pig - it was cooked to perfection, with crispy skin and succulent meat. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring everyone left feeling satisfied. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was also top-notch; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Overall, I highly recommend Ta Philip Restaurant for anyone seeking a truly memorable Maltese dining experience. It's the perfect place to enjoy delicious food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

Loved it here. The little higher price from other restaurants is totally worth it. The place is really nice and from the peek I took from upstairs the bar downstairs looks amazing. Had a birthday dinner and we where around 15. Great atmosphere and the food was good. Sorry about the messy plates but i had to try the meat before the photo. It was kangaroo which i never tried before. It is not on the main menu but on the specials. BE AWARE of the specials as there are some great choices which are written on a board. I liked the attention to detail which helps you to have a lovely night. As we were a large group most of restaurants try to save on the sides but here he brought enough to share well between us. Not to mention the bread with the amazing paste which i had to take a picture of 🤤. Also soft drinks in glass bottles which is better and has a good selection of wine. Nice staff and friendly owner. Recommend for a nice evening to hang out in the restaurants with family/friends. If you like fast service to just eat and leave not sure this is the best place.

A place with a beautiful ambience inside and out. It is sea facing. It’s a beautiful place for a date night. We chose to go there seeing the google rating and was never dissatisfied. Service is very polite and friendly. Food was delicious. I have shared some pictures of what we had. The cocktails aren’t that great. But the restaurant has a huge collection of wines. Food is well decorated and tasty as well. After all why I give a 4 star is because I was disturbed by many flys.

Comino, a limestone islet and bird sanctuary, is home to the famous Blue Lagoon bay, a 17th-century tower, and chapel. A full-day cruise to Comino Island offers a Mediterranean paradise experience with sunbathing, swimming in azure waters, and enjoying the magical Maltese coastline. The journey includes passing Gozo island for stunning views before reaching Comino Island.
Must see if you’re heading to Malta! Take Your hiking boots and go to explore this island! Was there in march, would like to say in tourist high season time this place will be crowded-so buy ferry tickets online and skip all those waiting lines for tickets selling points.

It's a nice island to visit, full of nature and old buildings, blue lagoon is always very busy but go beyond that and walk around the island for a bit. You get nice panoramic views of the surrounding islands. Great island if you like hiking!

The best part of my trip, loved the views and color of the sea. I’ll definitely revisit when I’m in Malta, you can easily spend a few hours here.
Lolita L — Google review
A charming island to explore. The Blue Lagoon can be busy but beyond it lie quiet trails and stunning island views. Ideal for nature lovers and hikers.
Sana H — Google review
I was looking forward to escape the hassle of Malta traffic and crowded sights, however, even during the week in October it is a nightmare. Maybe the lagoon is nice And blue, however the constant humming of generators and ferry boats make it hard to see it as the idyllic spot as painted by the reviews I read. Even though there apparently is a restriction to the number of people allowed to enter the island it felt like entering a beehive. The current in the lagoon was very strong so you can bathe, but you can't swim. All the foodstalls have their Ghettoblasters on and you just have to quickly escape and walk to the other side of the island which at the weekend apparently is just as crowded. Maybe take a boat, cruise through, but there are way nicer spots to pass a couple of hours at a beach.

Its a lovely little island which is very crowded at the ferry port but quiet elsewhere. The only place I've visited thst has a bin dedicated to used pineapples!

Hondoq Bay is a serene and picturesque destination that beckons travelers with its crystal-clear waters and stunning views of the nearby Blue Lagoon, Comino, and Cominotto islets. This charming bay features a small pebble and sandy beach, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling along the rocky coastline. While it can get quite busy during the summer months due to its popularity among locals, visiting early in the day allows you to secure a prime spot on the beach.
Great beach with beautiful water! My advice would be to get a bed to the left of the beach (near the parking) as it's quieter and the view is divine.

Hondoq Bay Café Hondoq Bay has a Blue Flag Beach, an excellent café, water sports, and more. Like many of the locals, it is one of our favorite spots to relax, enjoy, and soak up the sun. We like to arrive early to stake out our spot on the sea wall. Joy Ride Watersports offers umbrellas and sun loungers for all-day rentals at very budget-friendly prices. Once you have your spot, it is a short walk to the beach, shower, toilet facilities, and the café. The café offers delicious food, drinks, ice cream, and pastries with inside or outside seating. Water sports of all kinds and tours are available from the aforementioned vendor. We bring a cooler with our own goodies but also seem to crave something before the day is over. Come to the bay and enjoy the fun, boats, and people-watching.

I had fun! The sea was beautiful. The place was nice and tidy. And there was something that you can jump. There were not much-moderate people. I will recommend it to my friends and family and will go again!
Puro — Google review
Absolutely stunning there is no words to say how beautiful it is, water is turquoise. There is a small sandy patch for the kids to play. But ideal for snorkeling you could see right to the bottom of the sea bed. There is a walk path from a side if the bay leads right to the ferry terminal ... Long walk across the cliff edges take extra care...how ever of you walk bit further up there is a small cave opening to the land with a bathing spot. really quite and private. Access there can be bit challenging as you have few climbs and descents on the rock formations. There are some watersports on the bay offering various activities. There is a tour operators provide Ferry to comino blue lagoon from there as well. Public toilets can be found at the end of the beach area, there is a cafe serving good choice if food. Car park on the bay or along the road. You will see the blue lagoon at a distance as you decent down to the bay. Watch out for the jelly fish when the tide coming in.

Joyride Watersports Gozo offers the option to hire a self-drive boat or join a tour from Gozo to Comino, departing from Hondoq Beach. For a reasonable fee, they provide transportation to the Blue Lagoon for exploration, swimming, snorkeling, and refreshments before picking you up at your convenience. Visitors have praised their experiences with activities such as jet ski safaris and sunset self-driving boat tours led by knowledgeable and accommodating staff members.
Joyride water sports was an amazing experience. Everyone was so kind making sure every thing fit perfectly and our tour guide let us stop to take photos and he offered to let us swim, they were also very safe. The only thing I would recommend is if you are jet skiing like us please take your hat off so it does fly away. Loved this place would go again.

We booked a private 1hour tour around Comino. Harry, our skipper was fab, such a good sense of humour and great with our son. 100% recommend!

We had a fantastic experience we chartered a boat, Harry took us around the island he gave us lots of information and navigated the boat into caves and caverns, we saw birds of prey and had 3 swim stops, lots of fishes! So many fish. What an experience. Thank you so much Jonathan and everyone involved. Brilliant way to spend a morning.

The tour guides were very friendly and accommodating. We booked a tour for 10 people with a guided canoe tour on the coast of Gozo, a boat tour on the coast of Comino and then we were dropped off at the blue lagoon and picked up again. Highly recommended, good service and free water.

We enquired at a few different places for water sports around Gozo and this was the best value for money. All the staff are extremely friendly, caring and helpful. We had the best time on the UFO (my stomach still hurts from laughing so much) and also had a boat tour around Gozo and Comino - saw some amazing sights and had the best experience. Harry the skipper was hilarious and very experienced, Jonathan the owner is well worth seeing if you want to see Comino and have a trip to remember. Thank you!! Nestled in the heart of Qala, the Qala Parish Church stands as a stunning example of Baroque architecture, embodying the charm and history of Gozitan churches. This magnificent structure serves as a focal point for the village, especially enchanting when illuminated at night. While visiting, you can also explore nearby attractions like Qala Heritage Park and Ta' Kola Windmill to immerse yourself in local culture. Inside, you'll find an impressive array of statues and artworks that truly captivate visitors.
Lovely feast of St Joseph. They go through alot of trouble to put up street decorations and fireworks and processions

If you're planning a trip to Gozo, make sure to check out Dolmen Rent-a-Car for an exceptional car rental experience. Nestled amidst the island's stunning prehistoric architecture, including the iconic dolmen on Triq it-Tempju, this service stands out for its convenience and efficiency. After a less-than-stellar experience with another company, I was relieved when Raymond from Dolmen Rent-a-Car delivered my vehicle right to my doorstep in no time at all.

Raymond was prompt in replying our whatsapp inquiry for a car booking for the next morning even though we texted only at 9pm the night before. He was punctual at the ferry terminal when our ferry arrived and was waiting for us when we came back to return the car. 100euros for a 7 seater manual van 12h rental The process was clear and easy, with few hoops to jump through. Do note that cars might only be manual, so check before confirming. The car worked without issues

D-Bar We recently had the pleasure of being invited to celebrate a friend’s birthday at D-Bar in Qala, Gozo. D-Bar had been a family-run bar in Qala for a number of years until they decided to turn it into a restaurant and bar some 15 years ago. We are so glad they did! The food at this establishment is fantastic. Our party had a variety of their delectable items from the menu. Three of our group, including myself, ordered the soup of the day, a hearty barley soup. The portion is very generous for a starter, and it was delicious. Portions at D-Bar are incredibly generous. Our birthday gentleman had the sirloin steak, cooked to perfection. His wife had chicken cognac, and it was so generous that she took half of it home for lunch the next day. My wife had the penne pasta Bolognese, which I insisted on trying. It was excellent. Our other friend had eaten here many times and had the half order of BBQ ribs. He told us he always orders the ribs, but the rack is too much. I ordered pork chops and was not disappointed. Juicy and tender with boiled potatoes and fresh veggies. We all had different desserts, but the standout was the house-made Tiramisu. D-Bar is a must if you live in or are just visiting Gozo.

Exceptional dinner! Starters brie with ham and fish cakes were topnotch, absolutely mouth watering. Two different pizzas for mains, both might have been best pizzas we've ever had...fantastic food. Not to forget the polite and knowledgeable service by rather young staff. If I would be the owner/manager of this restaurant, I would be very proud of that staff. I hope the owner realizes that. Sadly we discovered this restaurant on our last day at Gozo, otherwise we'd be back for sure. Thank you for the pleasant dinner experience@
Jukka W — Google review
D-Bar restaurant was conveniently located just a short walk from our accommodation, and we found ourselves returning three times during our stay! The service was warm and attentive, and every dish we tried was a delight. From the carbonara and fresh salads to the perfectly cooked steaks and the homemade desserts, everything was delicious. A special mention to the wonderful staff, Mike, Ethan, and Alina, who went above and beyond to make us feel special. If you’re in Gozo, this place is a must-visit for its amazing atmosphere, tasty food and cocktails!
Katerina B — Google review
This restaurant seems to be a local favorite, likely due to the quality of the food. We didn’t have a reservation, and when we arrived around 6:30 PM on a Saturday, we noticed all tables had “Reserved” signs. When we asked if we could be seated, they kindly offered us a reserved table, which felt like a generous gesture. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t quite live up to that initial impression. There are a few vegetarian options; the Tartufata pizza, in particular, was quite delicious. However, when I asked for a glass of wine, I was told I could only order either a half-liter or a full bottle. I found this a bit odd, as I’ve never encountered that limitation before. While we did enjoy the meal, it was disappointing not to have the flexibility to pair it with a simple glass of wine. We left feeling somewhat let down, despite the promising start.

Church of the Madonna of Lourdes

Church
The Church of the Madonna of Lourdes is a small yet beautiful church located on a strategic hill offering magnificent views of Mgarr harbor. Unlike other Maltese churches, it features simple interiors with almost empty walls, exuding beauty in its simplicity. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful and charming atmosphere while taking in panoramic snapshots of the harbor and surrounding areas. The church also serves as a place for worship, requiring proper attire and silence.
High above Mģarr harbour, on a promontory, stands the Church of the Madonna of Lourdes. In 1879, a statue of the Virgin Mary of Lourdes by Antonio Busuttil was placed in a hollow in the promontory. The foundation stone was laid just a week after Bishop Pietro Pace called for a chapel to be built for the statue in 1888. The chapel was completed in 1893 and has looked out over Mģarr harbour from its elevated position ever since.

Church on the strategic position. On the hill offering so the magnificent view on Mgarr harbour. It is peaceful place where you can take nice photos or simply admire beautiful surrounding areas, harbour, boats and very live port life. The church is very simple inside but merits visit. It can be reached by walk from harbour.
Katka ( — Google review
Small church but beautiful! It was closed when I passed by, but I could see through the gates and it looks so well maintained! Also very different from other Maltese churches I have seen; other churches have more gold, paintings, … on the inside, while here the walls are almost empty. But beauty in simplicity. Walking around the church, you have a beautiful view over the harbour!

Beautiful, tranquil, and charming. Great place to take a panoramic view snapshot of the harbor. Please remember ...this is a place of worship, silence and proper attire required. The church is raising funds to restore badly damaged areas...so please be generous when making donations.

Għajnsielem Viewpoint is a must-visit spot just south of Qala, accessible via Triq z-Zewwiega. The 1.8km uphill journey from the harbour is well worth it for the breathtaking views of Mgarr harbor and Comino. Conveniently located near the Grand Hotel, it's an ideal location for capturing stunning photographs.
Located conveniently close to the Grand Hotel, this viewpoint is a good spot for taking photos of the beautiful Mġarr harbour and the stunning Comino. Move further west from here along Triq il-Ħamri then Triq il-Fawwara and you will eventually end up near the picturesque Għajnsielem Parish Church. There is a shortcut, in the form of a colourful set stairs, located between Ferdie's Restaurant and the Grand Hotel that will get you to Triq il-Ħamri. At night, especially when there's a full moon when the moon is lighting up the waters between Comino and Mġarr, the views are spectacular. Day or night, this viewpoint is worth visiting in Gozo! Also known as the Għajnsielem belvedere, this spot is always kept clean. The addition of exercise equipment is also welcome!

The menu boasts a delightful variety, featuring classic Italian fare, local inspirations, and an impressive array of burgers. With its divine cuisine and top-notch service, it's hailed as the best restaurant in Qala. Whether you're craving traditional dishes or gourmet burgers for a Gozo weekend treat, Mulino offers an exceptional dining experience.
Wonderful taste experience in Qala. The food: During our stay in the apartments, we also decided to dine in-house, which was the best decision we made. It was absolutely the best food experience in Gozo. The dishes are well-balanced, and the wine is reasonably priced (and delicious). We also had breakfast included à la carte, which was also amazing. The service: top-notch. They take care of you and ask if everything is okay.

Incredible restaurant, amazing atmosphere! You can choose with 'eyes closed', as all options are prepared with fresh and high-quality products, great combinations and well-presented! We came twice for dinner and twice for breakfast in the same week. Opted for lobster risotto (we actually asked to replace risotto with pasta and the chef was so kind to meet our request), tortellini with smoked aubergine and scamorza (amazing!!), and strozzapreti pesto with stracciatella and pistachios and bacon. One can choose a 'main dish' portion of pasta, but also a smaller one (in case one wants to also take an entrance/other dish in addition). The dessert was also great! If you want vegetarian option, better to specify, as not all ingredient are mentioned in the menu. The atmosphere is so relaxing and quiet, the restaurant has only a few tables, therefore, it is noisy. The breakfast is also impressive! In overall, all was incredibly GREAT!

This place is incredible. We enjoyed every minute of it and would even go as far as to say there was too much on a portion. Which may sound odd, but it was soooo good i just wanted to eat it all. Place has indoor and outdoor eating, I recommend booking in advance if you want to eat outside. If this place isn't trying for Michelin stars soon I would be very surprised!

From breakfast, to lunch and dinners, at Mulino Restaurant we have always been fascinated by consistency in quality. The menus are regularly adapted to the season. The flavours are well-thought and blend in with the rest of the palate. The chef is always striving for excellence. On warmer days, we choose to dine by the pool, with the backdrop of the channel views and sunset hues, whereas on wintery days, we opt to reserve a table inside the cosy boutique hotel itself.

Belvedere Triq David Cocco Palmieri is a picturesque spot located at the top of the harbour hill, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the harbor, Comino, and northern Malta. San Filep Beach is a picturesque spot for snorkeling, with its quiet and less crowded atmosphere making it an ideal location for underwater exploration. The area features charming fishing villages with boat houses carved into the cliffs, a narrow pebble beach with amenities like a kiosk and public toilets. Visitors are advised to wear sturdy footwear when walking along the rugged cliffs to the south due to sharp stones.
Small and nice beach

Difficult to access but clear blue sea to enjoy the freshness of the Mediterranean.

(Translated by Google) A pretty little fishing village with picturesque boathouses carved into the rocks, a narrow pebble beach with a kiosk and public toilets. It's worth taking a walk over the rough cliffs to the south; sturdy shoes are strongly recommended because of the sharp-edged stones. I would advise against swimming there, as the waves and current could push even experienced swimmers onto the rugged stones. Unfortunately, when we visited, the beach and harbor area was very busy with jellyfish.

(Translated by Google) It's worth a visit, a very, very nice little beach, with almost only locals, crystal clear water and the possibility of diving from several points. (Original) merita una visita, spiaggetta molto molto carina, con gente quasi solo del posto, acqua cristallina e possibilità di tuffarsi da parecchi punti

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place BUT verbally abusive locals! A woman wanted to sunbathe topless, so a local (topless) came along and said that if she didn't get dressed, he'd call the police. Everyone should recognize the irony 🙈 The parking lot was relatively full, and the water was a bit dirty when entering.

Gleneagles Bar, a Gozitan institution run by brothers Tony and Sammy for over 50 years, is a beloved local meeting spot steeped in history. Established in 1732 as a stopping point for ferry passengers, it offers a sweeping view of Mgarr Harbour from its balcony. The bar hosts fun karaoke nights and live music, drawing a diverse crowd of locals and visitors who appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and historic decor.
Amazing place, cozy, perfect view, simple, but warm and each guest is very welcomed by one of brothers. We met only one, honest talk and little bit of history, will always remember that place and 100% recomendations.

Great place for a drink whilst waiting for the ferry back to Valletta. The owner is so friendly and the views of the harbour are fabulous.

Cozy bar in lively Mgarr harbour. Very close to arrival/departure area so ideal for short refreshment. The added value of this place is the terrace with spectacular view on the harbour and all the boats. It seems that this terrace is freely accessible and it is also nice place for taking the pictures.

Perfect bar overlooking the harbor. Arrived around 7:30pm and it was not too crowded. It's not a huge establishment. IMO it is best suited for small groups.

Great spot after getting off the ferry or while waiting for it. Nice interior and good sea view. Lovely pints and server behind the bar was very friendly.

A decent pint of Guiness if you're looking for one and the ability to order food from elsewhere and eat it there. An evening overlooking the harbour is wonderful
