Sennen Cove in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Sennen Cove, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Sennen Cove is known for its wide sandy beach, clear Atlantic surf and dramatic cliffs near Land’s End, the westernmost point of mainland England. The cove is popular for surfing, coastal walks along the South West Coast Path and watching impressive sunsets over the ocean. A small working harbor, lifeboat station and traditional granite cottages give the village a classic Cornish character. Nearby attractions such as Land’s End, Minack Theatre and scenic coastal drives make it an easy inclusion on a wider Cornwall itinerary.
With favorites like 190 Degrees West, Land's End Sign, and Land's End, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like 190 Degrees West and Blue Lagoon so you can get the best taste of Sennen Cove while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Visitor center
Lands End is a popular tourist destination, known for its iconic signpost and various attractions such as exhibitions, film shows, a farm park, and an animal center. It offers a mini-theme park with pirate and Dr. Who themes, 4D films, and attracts crowds of visitors including cyclists traveling from or to John o Groats. The area also boasts rugged coastlines and beautiful views that draw thousands of visitors annually.
We went to Land’s End and had a good wander around. There’s no entry fee for the site itself, but you do have to pay for parking, which is 20 minutes free or £7.50 for the day, with no hourly options available. There are a few attractions like the famous Land's end sign, model village, exhibitions and shops, and also plenty of walking paths with great views of the coastline. It’s nice that you can choose between spending money on the activities or just enjoying the scenery. The weather shifted really quickly while we were there—starting off sunny, then suddenly turning cloudy, windy and rainy before clearing again, so it’s worth bringing a jacket even in summer. Overall it’s a good spot to explore for a couple of hours, with dramatic views and enough to do if you want to make a day of it.
Merine A — Google review
A must visit area of Cornwall if you're visiting nearby offering incredible views across the coast. We even got lucky enough to spot a seal and spent an hour just watching the dolphins! We got there early before 10am and the place was very quiet, an hour later once the coaches arrive it starts to feel very much like the busy tourist attraction and gets crowded quickly. Getting there early allowed us to take photos in front of the sign without the huge crowds. The sign is now behind a rope where you have to pay £10 for a photo if you want to stand near it. The coastal walks either side are impressive and not too difficult to navigate - there's a ship wreck about a 15 minute walk to the right of the sign which is well worth a visit. And the archway to the left. The food is average at best but also very expensive so would recommend bringing your own. We did the adventure golf which to our surprise was really well done. 15 holes in various pirate themed areas with high production value. It's definitely worth a visit for the stunning landscapes above all else. You can ignore the rest of the experiences but can see why they'd help engage younger visitors. £9 to park all day.
Joe K — Google review
Land's End is beautiful in a rugged way. The views are spectacular on a fine day and even when the weather has closed in the wild wind blown atmosphere of west Cornwall is hard to beat. So why does anyone think a bit of crazy golf and a 4D cinema built in a layout similar to a motorway services is just what you need here? I recommend you park at Sennen Cove Harbour Car Park and walk over to Land's End (15-20 min walk), avoiding the service station vibes. There's a 2 or 2.5 hr circular walk via Nanjizal and then back inland across the fields that's very scenic. (Update: the fact there's a Land's End account that responded to my view kind of illustrates my point - does wild nature need a marketing team and amusement park?)
Owen L — Google review
Land’s End is one of those rare places that combines natural beauty with a sense of history and wonder. Standing at the westernmost tip of mainland England, you’re greeted by sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and rugged cliffs that stretch dramatically into the horizon. The coastal walks here are spectacular, offering a chance to soak in Cornwall’s wild landscape while spotting seabirds and, if you’re lucky, even dolphins. The iconic Land’s End signpost makes for a classic photo opportunity, and the visitor centre provides helpful exhibits and amenities without taking away from the natural charm of the spot. Sunset is especially magical, as the sky meets the sea in vibrant colours. Whether you’re there for a quick stop or a long coastal hike, Land’s End truly lives up to its name — it feels like the edge of the world, and it’s a must-visit on any trip to Cornwall.
Vidhi P — Google review
Great place to visit, especially if you like nature and hiking. Even for those who cannot hike you can take some walks and still see some of the nice cliffs. Some walking paths are manageable to do so. For those who are more able to hike can use trails along the coast. Just beautiful.
Mireille K — Google review
This is a big tourists attraction with multiple shops, 4D cinema, and crazy golf etc, which spoils it in a way as it's overly commercial. It's amazing once you get past that to stand out on lands end and look at the breathtaking scenery though. Beware that if you want photos next to the old sign you have to pay, so we stood with it in the background for a selfie! There's a big carpark which you have to pay to use.
Caroline M — Google review
Had a cracking time at Land's End! The views were stunning, and the coastal path was a great way to take it all in. The cafe had decent grub and a warm welcome. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! 🌊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿"

I gave this place 4 stars, not for the facilities which are fine. It's more the iconic location. This is as far south as you can go on mainland UK,now I have to go to John O Groats. This is a lovely place to visit and a must if you like the wild coast which is accessable with a short walk. Plenty to do for the younger visitors and the prices considering the location is fair. A must is a photo session at the famous signpost, it's roped off but the official photographer is very friendly and the cost is quite reasonable. Sorry but I didn't take a photo without any of the family in it so I included one from the exhibits. Depends on your fitness but a great way to spend a half day or a full day.

We visited the famous Land’s End sign, which is probably the most iconic feature of the area. It is a great photo spot and the staff there offer the option of taking a professional picture for about £10-£11. They even change the sign to include your names or your home city, which makes it a bit more personal if you want a keepsake. There is no fee just to see the sign out take photos on your phone from a distance, but if you want that customised photo you will need to pay. Entry into Land's end is free but Parking is 20 minutes free or £7.50 for the day, and there are no hourly charges, so if you are only stopping for a quick picture the cost feels a little high. The views from the sign are wide and dramatic, and it is easy to see why it is so popular with visitors from all over the world. The weather shifted quickly during our visit, going from sunshine to cloudy and rainy with strong winds in the space of a short time, so it is worth being prepared if you want clear photos. Overall, it is a unique landmark and worth seeing at least once, but it helps to know the costs and to plan for the changing weather.
Merine A — Google review
Stunning views, great staff, parking is perfect day so long walks are covered. The genteman taking the photos is very nice and professional. If you are going to lands end, you are getting a picture.
MrJsquires86 — Google review
Unbelievable! The cliffs are crazy cool and even better in reallife! We were here at 7pm which was pretty good, since it was very empty but still good lighting... There are some nice shops around and a hotel.

The views from the sign area are amazing and stunning on a clear sunny day. The sign area is a little disappointing as it’s been commercialised, you need to pay to have a picture taken with your “message” on it. I suppose it’s good to mark a celebration or event that way, but most people just want a simple snapshot next to the original sign. Parking is plentiful and fixed at a day rate of £9 regardless of how long you stay ( a quick visit is not good value ). A few decent cafes and food place are situated here, the tea and scones are particularly good at the place just at the entrance. Nice place with good views and very good service with reasonable pricing. Overall a nice experience and some good areas where you can find out about Lands Ends history and stuff.

Think its a bit of a con having to pay to stand at the side of it and have your photo taket thats what happens when a private company invest in it Tourist zones and managed access: In some cases, access to the monument itself (or its immediate surroundings) is managed by a trust or private body. They may charge for entry, guided tours, or even “photo spots” with scenic backdrops. "Money making"
CPD — Google review
Pretty view, but over done. A shame it's no longer part of the national trust. I get the fact it has had £7 million put into the infrastructure and they have erected a huge complex but there's no need for a Wallace and gromit experience there haha. The view of the 270 degree sea is amazing, I would recommend coming after hours than when it is fully open as it is deserted and the restraunt is still open. There on tap selection is impressive too ( strawberry and like rattler on tap is wicked.
Leon P — Google review
The entry/parking is £8 for whole day... No matter you want to stay for an hour... That pity. Entertainment part is common what you find at any pier... However, 'life music' - very charming! When the weather is nice worth to come for tje atmosphere of freedom, dramatic landscape with open space!

Lands End has some stunning views of the Longship Lighthouse, the two Reefs and the Jurassic coastline. The are some breathtaking walks along the cliff tops in both directions, more so as you walk south along the cliff tops

Pub
The Old Success Inn, located in the heart of Sennen Cove, is a 17th-century seaside pub offering comfortable accommodations with a touch of history. The inn features airy quarters and a cozy dining room known for its carvery lunch and tempting dishes. With a large roof terrace providing coastal views, it's an ideal spot to relax after enjoying the nearby beach or exploring the scenic coast path.
This is a review of both the accommodation and the pub. Our 2-night stay at this B&B was excellent. The location with its views, parking (pay&display), and beach access is outstanding. The rooms and bathroom are perfectly thought through and managed - and we had a brilliant and comfortable stay. The breakfast is also very good - both the continental stuff and the cooked bits had enough variety to keep us going for a few more days if we wanted. The breakfast staff were extremely efficient and friendly, along with the manager, Babs, who was very helpful. We had a really nice time staying there. My only complaint was that the cleaning left a lot to be desired. We only needed it once, and though teas and biscuits were refreshed, and the beds were made, the floor had clearly not been vacuumed/swept, and the bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned either. As for the rest of the food, we had two dinners there - and the pub food is average. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to remember either. All in all though, I had the most positive experience staying at Old Success Inn and would return in a heartbeat whenever I end up in Sennen Cove again. I highly recommend it.

What a cracking pub in a stunning location!! Having originally decided to have a late lunch at the cafe at the end of the car park we changed our mind after reading the (poor) menu, so headed up to this pub, and very glad we did. We were able to grab a seat outside which allows for great views of the sea, beach and cliffs we decided to share a starter and a burger as we wanted something fairly light. The food was delicious. The beef burger was nicely cooked being slightly pink in the centre. Staff were polite and friendly. Toilets clean. I would definitely return in the future.

Absolutely fabulous!! This was a trip away for our 18th wedding anniversary and the staff made it extra special. We felt so looked after from the minute we arrived and the views from the terrace are just wonderful. The food was amazing so in conclusion it was a perfect stay. Don’t hesitate to book we can’t wait to return. Thank you to all the staff at Old Success Inn for making it so special for us.

Outstanding room. I checked in when it was dark, so was immensely surprised with the absolutely stunning view in the morning. Slept like a log - as they say. Breakfast, served by some great, well-mannered and chatty staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing and set me up well for the day. Took a nice stroll across the seafront before my departure. Stunning location, stunning hotel - will come again!

We stopped at The Success Inn in Sennen Cove for lunch today and had such a fantastic experience. The pub has a really warm and welcoming feel, with plenty of charm and character – the perfect spot after a walk along the coast. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and generous in portion, exactly what you want after bracing Cornish sea air. The staff were so friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. One of the best parts for us was how dog-friendly it is. Our four-legged companion was made to feel just as welcome as we were, which makes such a difference when you’re travelling with a dog. With its lovely atmosphere, great service, and excellent food, The Success Inn is an absolute gem in Sennen Cove. We’ll definitely be coming back on our next visit to this beautiful part of Cornwall.

We booked the old success inn to celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday as we were staying nearby. This was the best decision as it we had such a fantastic evening! The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming & helpful, they were brilliant especially Louise who was so attentive & made us feel so relaxed! The food was superb! I had roast chicken & it was absolutely delicious !! We had 2 dogs with us & sat in the dog friendly area which was brilliant & we also met some lovely well behaved dogs. If we ever visit this area again, we would definitely stop here for a meal! First class.

Excellent Sunday lunch, great service. The best roast potatoes from a pub lunch, the vegan option was tastier than usual and the Beef was great apparently. All this with a dog friendly option and fantastic views out over the cove. We will definitely go again.
Ruth R — Google review
We had a 2x night stay here over the August BHW. Can’t rate it highly enough. We had our dog with us so were put in a dog friendly room with a sea view. Dog was catered for with a nice big bed, some treats, poo bags, bowls & even a dog beer! Our room was lovely, shower was great. Nice and quiet with just the soothing sounds of outside waves at night. They even had yoga in the morning on the outside terrace. Andrew the instructor was excellent. Breakfast options were wide ranging and of high quality. Coffee was great. We also ate dinner here earlier on in the week and again the options were wide ranging and high quality. The staff were all very lovely & friendly too.

Beach
Sennen Beach, located just north of Lands End in Cornwall, offers a captivating experience with its broad sweep of sand, rock pools, and consistent surf. Facing directly west into the Atlantic Ocean, it provides an ideal setting for breathtaking sunsets. The beach is well-equipped for catching those Instagram-worthy sunset vibes most of the year round. With lifeguards and surf schools available, it can get busy, so arriving early is recommended to secure a good spot.
One of the amazing beaches near Landsend. Had to park on the hill, which is a massive field, as the parking in the town were full. The climb down was easy, the return not so easy. The sand was soft and warm the water was cold. Spent 3 hours on the beach had an amazing time.
Shohab A — Google review
Sennen Cove Beach is a stunning destination known for its golden sands, clear waters, and excellent surf conditions. The beach is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the summer months, ensuring safe swimming and surfing experiences. Parking is available close to the beach, but it can fill up quickly during peak times. Overflow parking is located uphill, requiring a steep walk back after a day at the beach. The beach offers facilities such as toilets, a surf school, and nearby cafes and shops. However, there are seasonal dog restrictions in place too. Overall, Sennen Cove Beach is a beautiful and family-friendly location, ideal for a day out by the sea.

Sennen Beach is a stunning place with a vast expanse of white sandy shores. If you're in search of a delightful dining experience, 190 Degrees West is a must-visit spot for fish and chips enthusiasts. Nestled in a bustling area that stays open later than most eateries, this gem serves up freshly cooked meals that are simply irresistible. With friendly staff and the convenience of card payments, ordering your meal is a breeze. While you might encounter some wait times during peak hours—sometimes up to an hour—the deliciousness of their cod and chips makes it all worthwhile.
Western most chippie on mainland Britain. Stopped here on the way back from lands end. Glad we did. Chips and fish was freshly made and you could tell. One of the nicest chippies I have had and good covid precautions in place. If going back, I would recommend you stop and try.

Really very nice fish and chips and good service. Parking can be found on the road outside while you wait for your order. Clovis restrictions mean that they are taking orders at the door but are handling queues well. 4 star because I asked for a Savloy sausage as they where banging my order and they didn't have one ready to pop in the bag, but that's my only gripe not much really.
Graham S — Google review
So basically the best fish and chips in the northern hemisphere. The chips weren't soggy or too oily and the fish tasted fresh with crispy an light batter. The tacos were great aswell with the fish being in tempura batter(nice touch). It's great to see fish an chips cooked properly ....will definitely be back for more.

Visited Sennen For a weeks holiday staying at a local Holiday home.Whilst here we decided we wanted to try these guys for a True Fish and chips Dinner .We took the advice to phone ahead first and make our order and once we arrived we waited around 20 mins but it was so worth the wait . Ive never tasted Cod and chips like this .! No oily skin or over burnt broken coating like you get from some of the others .The Fish was pure white ,fresh and tasted so divine we enjoyed every second of it . If were ever down this way again we will definitly use this Place again .5 Stars guys good work keep it up . 👌🏼

Decent fish and chips. Clean premises and a fast service. You can sit in or take away. Has a kids menu too. Haddock and cod are on the menu, alone with different chip portion sizes and the usual extras like peas, curry sauce and bread rolls. Our fish tasted fresh, and the chips were dry and not oily.
Oliver G — Google review
The fish was dry and overdon and small, the chip portions were small. The chips were nice. We had onion rings and I had read they were good proper onion rings. Not true they are frozen onion rings fried, not proper onion chopped and batted how hard is it to get proper onion rings in cornwall and not get ripped off with small portions so far we have not been impressed. The curry was good.
Chris J — Google review
A very busy location as it stays open later than most. Fish and chips are popular in Cornwall and with so few locations staying open late, it’s very good that this one is actually open to serve customers. The food is delicious, freshly cooked and very tasty. Easy to order and pay by card, friendly staff too. There is on street parking right outside. Due to the demand in the evenings, you can be waiting quite a long time, almost an hour for your food. This is the only disadvantage. So get in early, order online, or go for a walk while you wait.
Mike S — Google review
Visited on a lunch time on the way to lands end. Very nice chippy, the cod was fresh and the chips were crispy and not at all greasy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Card is accepted here with a minimum spend of £5 which seems rare in this part of the country. Definitely would recommend eating here rather than paying extortionate prices for food at the lands end shops.

Nestled in a charming coastal area, the Blue Lagoon is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious fish and chips. This eatery has garnered attention for its perfectly cooked cod, encased in a light, crispy batter that melts in your mouth. The accompanying thick-cut chips and mushy peas complement the dish beautifully, making it an unforgettable experience.
I can't recommend this place highly enough, best cod I have ever tasted in my life, with a batter thats crisp but melts in your mouth. The chips and mushy peas enhanced the fish beautifully. The lady who served us was extremely friendly and polite, as was the guy assisting her. I would definitely go here again. Thank you.

Paid £14 for fish and chips 💷 — London prices, but nowhere near London quality ❌. Also got children’s chicken nuggets 🍗, and both dishes were far too oily 🛢️. Sauces cost extra 🥫, which felt cheeky given the prices. No proper indoor seating 🪑, and rubbish had to be taken to a council bin across the road 🚮. Didn’t see any locals eating there, which should have been a warning sign 🚫👀. As visitors to the area, we got caught out 🤦‍♂️.
Gnans — Google review
We stopped for some chips while out walking, but they didn’t live up to expectations. At £4.50, I had hoped for hot and fresh chips, but they arrived dry, hard, and only just warm. The entertainment also wasn’t quite to my taste. With some improvements, this could be a much better experience
Norman B — Google review
We were having a discussion about the perfect fish and chips during the long drive to Cornwall. Half of us were standing firm on the "french fries" side of the chip debate and I was holding forth that a correctly cooked traditional thick chip, not soggy but perfectly crisp, with a texture that brings out the flavour of the potato is on a completely different level of quality. After our sharing of a fish and chips from Blue Lagoon the argument was settled. The chips are perfect and the fish is exquisitely battered in a way which brings up memories of Japanese tempura. They also provide a top notch crab sandwich and sell reasonably priced wines and beers by the bottle and can.
Cenred E — Google review
Really good fish and chips, especially the fish. Took about ten minutes after ordering before it was ready which was fine, we knew it was freshly cooked. Will certainly be back.
Geoff K — Google review
Nice food but a bit overcooked. Service very good, staff friendly and efficient. Prices extremely high. £12.50 for cod and chips. We live in a seaside town and get better portions for £7.99 so felt a bit ripped off. Outside seating available, watch out for the seagulls.
Melly K — Google review
Start with the good comment: the chips tasted lovely and the food was alright overall. Slow service took over half hour to get some chips and ridiculously expensive The worst thing I saw was litter being chucked by the owner over the sea wall twice. Their bin was too full so they just decided to chuck it over.. no wonder rats were climbing the rocks down there. Not impressed. Respect your beautiful environment !!
Kerry M — Google review
I wonder if the owner reads the reviews on here and bothers? As someone else said, probably not, they've got a captive audience (as we were) and don't need to bother. A pity, the food and service could be so much better.. We were walking the South West Coast Path and stopped by for lunch (sitting in, although the food was still served in cardboard boxes as if we were takeaway customers- we were told to dump everything in the Council bins on the street opposite when we'd finished!) Crab sandwiches x2 on nice thick granary bread which was sadly a bit stale (certainly not fresh that day).. there was then not quite enough best quality Crab in them to justify the £14 each and one sachet each of Heinz mayo. The box of chips, like everyone else has said, were really really poor. Soggy, reheated and really poor quality. They'd get a 1 star on their own. The owner, Mary sadly had the same kinda attitude as the chips. We tried our best and just about got her to engage.. Like I said, hopefully you'll get to read this, up the game and see the benefits of people coming in especially.

The First & Last Inn is a charming 17th-century pub offering classic pub fare and local ales. It features an exposed smugglers' tunnel, a cozy interior with unusual features like goldfish in the well, and a comfortable beer garden. Located just a 10-minute walk from Lands End Camping and Glamping, it's known as the last place to get a beer before reaching Land's End. The spacious outdoor area at the back provides plenty of seating and parking.
We stopped off here after going to lands end, for some refreshment and warmth. The pub is a good size and the decor was authentic, I loved the old brick work in the snug we sat in. It has a Pool table, that was a great resource while we waited for our food. The staff were nice and friendly and our dogs were welcome. We ordered a variety of things as a group of nine. All the dishes were very tasty and my favourite was the garlic bread it really was a good portion and very buttery. The chicken wings were also very nice. There is plenty of parking and seating outside. I would definitely recommend this place although I can imagine in the tourist season it gets very busy.

We visited the first and last inn whilst visiting Lands End. There was plenty of parking and it was quiet, even though the sun was shining. There is a small park for children to play in with 3 benches to sit and watch the children playing. Plenty of seating inside. Dogs are welcome. The bar staff member that served us was very friendly. Prices were a little bit more pricey, but as there isn't much around you expect that. Very calm and peaceful. I will visit again when I visit lands end again. Food was okay, i had the fish and i didnt much enjoy it. The chips and onion rings were good though.

Booked a table here for evening meal The car park has ample spaces Friendly bar staff & ok food Guinness on tap, which suited the hubby. However, you have to 'pay as you go' as not allowed a tab The hubby joked about not trusting us & the barmaid said they didn't trust anyone! Play area for kids, but as returning to the car, there was a strong smell of weed

We visited twice — once just for drinks and another time for food. On our first visit there were plenty of tables available, and on the second it was much busier, but we still managed to find a seat. Ordering at the bar was straightforward and service was quick and efficient. The pub has some handy plug sockets (great for charging my phone), a children’s play area outside, and it’s dog friendly. There’s also free WiFi, clean toilets, and a large free car park which makes it very convenient. Food was on the pricier side for me, but the quality more than justified the cost — everything we had was well-prepared and tasty. Overall, a welcoming pub with good facilities and great food.

Fantastic, tasty food, clean bathrooms. Other than the lady that didn't like us asking to clear the table a bit mid-lunch, nothing to complain about. One of the best meals we had on our Cornish escapade.

We were staying at Stablerooms which is beside First and Last inn. We had meals with them two nights, nice cosy pub restaurant. We had chilly beef tacos and dirty fries, eton mess and first and last inn lager. Lovely food , especially eton mess. And you can get 10% discount if staying at stable room.
