Palace Square is a central square in St. Petersburg, known for its historical significance and architectural beauty. It features the iconic Alexander Column commemorating victory over Napoleon's armies. The area is surrounded by notable landmarks such as the Winter Palace (The Hermitage) and the Imperial Army General Staff building, making it a hub for art museums and chic cafes.
Just impressive, especially with sunset lighting. When there in June that happens well after 10 pm...

Palace Square in St. Petersburg is a stunning and historically rich site. Here are some highlights: 1. **The Winter Palace**: Once the residence of the Russian tsars, it features elaborate Baroque architecture and is now home to the Hermitage Museum. 2. **Alexander Column**: The impressive granite column is a symbol of Russian victory and stands at the center of the square. 3. **General Staff Building**: This Neoclassical building, with its grand arch, serves as the headquarters for the General Staff of the Russian Army. 4. **Spacious Layout**: The vast open space is perfect for gatherings, cultural events, and festivals. 5. **Surrounding Gardens**: Lush gardens and walkways provide a beautiful backdrop to the stunning architecture. Visiting Palace Square offers a glimpse into Russia's imperial history and architecture..

Absolutely breathtaking. Every hall feels like a step into another world — from da Vinci to Rembrandt, pure art magic. The Winter Palace itself is a masterpiece. You could spend days here and still be amazed. A must-visit in Russia. 🌟

I majestic statue infront of Hermitage museum. It is also part of the city buss tour if you're planning to take one.

Certainly, St. Petersburg's Palace Square is undeniably one of the most beautiful places in Russia. Situated at the heart of the city, it serves as a focal point for many historic sites, much like Moscow's Red Square. Located directly across from the Hermitage Museum, the square is dominated by the imposing 47.5-meter-tall Alexander Column at its center, making it hard to miss. This expansive open space is a popular meeting point for both locals and tourists, surrounded by many of the historical sites St. Petersburg has to offer. A trip to St. Petersburg would be incomplete without a visit to this iconic landmark of Russia. by: dizzy traveler

Beautiful. I went in February in the snow and again in May just before Victory Day. So gorgeous both times. The Hermitage and the square are breathtaking. Pictures from 120 years ago show the Hermitage with a different colour scheme which was more of a brown colour

Museums
Historical landmark
The State Hermitage Museum, founded by Catherine the Great in 1754, is one of the world's oldest and largest museums. It houses an extensive collection of art, culture, and antiquities. The museum recently expanded with a contemporary art wing in the General Staff Building, showcasing 21st-century artworks by renowned artists. The Kazan Cathedral nearby features a unique architectural design and historical significance related to Russian military figures and events from the early 19th century.
For me, the building was the most impressive part of the museum. When you think you saw the top showpiece hall, there are twenty more to follow. Then the collection is of course substantial as well. It consists mainly of 18th century works, and works that were famous at that time, and early 19th century works. There is hardly anything (if anything at all?) from past 1850. The collection therefore documents wonderfully the artistic taste of the Enlightenment and Empire epochs. Many information texts are in Russian and English, but many also are in Russian only, especially the more recent additions. For tourists without a bank card, the only way to buy tickets is at the cash desk inside, and that takes about an hour and 15 minutes.

This is one of the most stunning Museums I have ever seen, it is extremely bigger than any other museums I have visited in many countries around the world. The whole belongings of Catherine the Great are exhibited here and you need more than half a day if you really want to see all and everything. It is without doubt the most beautiful and rich of art museum in the world. Expect waiting time of half and hour during week days and up to one hour waiting time during weekends, however it is worth waiting for. It is highly recommended to visit 👌

The State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to the city. It’s not just a museum — it’s a journey through art, history, and beauty all in one place. Founded by Catherine the Great in 1764, the Hermitage is one of the largest and most impressive museums in the world, with over three million works of art and artifacts. From ancient Egyptian relics to masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh, there’s something here to amaze every visitor. The main building, the Winter Palace, is a work of art itself. Its grand halls, golden staircases, and lavishly decorated rooms will leave you speechless. Walking through it feels like stepping straight into the era of Russian emperors. Every corner is picture-perfect — a mix of stunning architecture and world-famous paintings. One of the highlights is the European art collection, especially the Italian Renaissance and French Impressionist galleries. You can easily spend an entire day exploring and still feel like you’ve only scratched the surface. Whether you’re an art lover, a history buff, or just someone who appreciates beautiful places, the Hermitage Museum will absolutely captivate you. It’s more than a museum — it’s an experience that will stay with you long after your trip. Don’t forget your camera and some comfortable shoes — you’ll need both!

Holy moly, if this place doesn’t blow your socks off. I don’t know what will. Absolutely amazing this place is huge you cannot see everything and just one visit. I came back a second time by myself just to take the amazing ore of this place. if there is no people around it would be like stepping back in time. It is amazing to think that things like this were built hundreds and hundreds of years ago and to think that this was built for one family it’s truly breathtaking and mind-boggling about the size of this amazing structure. If there’s only one thing that you can do in Saint Petersburg I would say come here. It’s easy a day visit or like me two days just come and see for yourself. It’s amazing.

One of the main attractions in Saint Petersburg. Absolutely one of the greatest museums i have ever visited. Ticket costs 509 rubles. You have the option to get the tickets from the counter, or buy the tickets online. Stunning Architecture that makes you feel like you traveled through the time. A large variety of art work. Time needed to visit the palace is between two hours and a half, and three hours. A counter is available to hang your coat, and you get a token. The token number will later help you find the exit that you entered from. Several exits are available and it is easy to miss your dedicated exit. Absolutely a must visit site if you are in Saint Petersburg.

Of course this place is a must see for every traveler. However you should be prepared for min. 3 hours of chaotic travel inside the museum, with many parts having only Russian descriptions. In my opinion the museum should have less expositions and more descriptions.

Specialty Museums
Kunstkamera, established by Peter the Great in the early 1700s, is among Russia's oldest museums. Initially a private collection of rarities, it later opened to the public for educational purposes. The museum showcases a wide array of human oddities, anatomical curiosities, archaeological collections from Russia and around the world. Over time, it has amassed exhibits from Russian travelers, navigators and scientists.
Very nice museum with everything you need in English.
Fifofuko — Google review
One of the most interesting museums with unique collections in the world! Located in a super old but well-kept building. We were impressed by the Eskimo exhibition created from the things brought from Russian expeditions, you don’t see that in classic history museums, and, of course, the collection of human embryons was breathtaking and spooky at the same time, our stomachs turned up in the beginning but then we were curiously examining just like other visitors.
Diana A — Google review
"Come, look, appraise and believe your own eyes only" is the motto of this museum. A fascinating collection of cultural, religious, hunting, social and dress from regions around the world. Its was like a world tour from the Eskimos, past the Indian tribes of north America into Africa and across Indochina and southeast Asia. There is also the exhibition of "oddities" and other unusual, deformed embryos and animals. The museum is very educational but even if taken slowly, it's an information overload.
Vincent O — Google review
It was great! I think it's probably one of the best museums in St Petersburg. Lots of interesting cultural exhibits, including the curiosities section which has babies in preserve to explain certain scientific processes. Almost everything has an English text equivalent. Well worth the money.

Russian Orthodox church
St. Isaac's Cathedral, completed in 1818, is a significant Russian Orthodox church and museum located in Saint Petersburg. It boasts a striking gold-plated dome that can be seen from various points within the city center. The cathedral has a rich history reflected in its museum exhibition, showcasing different architectural designs and detailing the costly construction process. With an opulent interior featuring mosaics, frescoes by renowned artists, and colossal granite columns, it stands as a magnificent monument of classicism.
It's absolutely stunning and gorgeous. The building from the ouside and inside is just fabulous. One of the masterpieces of the city. Make sure to buy both tickets, to get inside, and to get upstairs on the observation deck where you can see the city all around. Inside it is so beautiful. There are guides in the cathedral that start a tour every half an hour, maybe, try to stick to one of their groups and listen to the details, a lot of historical information.
Tigran G — Google review
Entrance tickets cost 5$ which you can get on the cathedral. Special discounts for students. You be taking almost 170-180 steps going up to reach the upper deck view. It is a place worthy of staying a bit longer once you reached the top. You're lucky if you go there with the sun up if not be ready with a jacket to keep you warm. Sadly the cathedral was closed for inside tours.

So many cathedrals that are so spectacular and amazing and a boggles the mind how these things were even built with their large scale everything from the doors to the front pillars that are 17 t it’s just amazing to think that these were built without machines they were made with hand manpower. Once you get inside and see the amazing mosaics and mighty structures and huge iron doors that weigh around 5 t each. There is an awesome talking tour which you get with some headphones and a little map of the cathedral which is very informative and very helpful to help you understand how much work went into it’s a building of the cathedral, totally amazing if things were built like this these days there would be a lot of amazing buildings not just a normal concrete jungle. There is a lovely little gift shop inside that supports the church. A must do to buy something as I did a nice passport leather wallet and I must say the quality was just amazing like everything else here. It’s so easy to immerse yourself into this culture, St Petersburg is such an amazing pace, with so many awesome things to see. As a foreigner I felt very welcomed and all the places that I visited, so if you’re wondering whether or not to go just do it it’s amazing.

The Winter Palace, a grand waterfront residence in St. Petersburg, was the favored home of Russian emperors for two centuries. It is often compared to Buckingham Palace and is now part of the renowned Hermitage Museum. Visitors are drawn to its extravagant state rooms, including the opulent Malachite Room and the Main Staircase with its stunning frescoes and marble details. The palace's history dates back to Peter the Great and underwent multiple redesigns by different architects over time.
A stunning retreat right next to the Hermitage. The beautifully landscaped gardens, with their elegant fountains and vibrant flowers, provide a perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll. It's a great spot to relax after exploring the museum. Don't miss the chance to capture some beautiful photos here!

An absolutely stunning Palace from the moment you walk in to the all the rooms you explore . This is something else the gold and share beauty of each room blows you away and leaves you speechless. What a grand place it was for the royals to be in and a magnificent opportunity for me to be able to visit and enjoy this glamorous Palace. We had a tour at 10am and was able to explore the whole Palace in 2 hours which was thought was enough time . With photos and videos of each room if necessary, I really enjoyed how there was so much group here but everyone was organised. They waited in a line behind you until you moved to the next room then they enter the room you left behind very well organised no chaos. And the gardens was very pretty with all the flowers and great views for taking photos at the top . We had a man playing a flute in the gardens which was a treat to experience as we was coming to the end of the gardens. A video was created of this music and the golden building at the top it was a wonderful moment shared . A final thought to say we was very excited to be able to get photos in all the rooms before My partner said it was not possible in the Amber room. This was My wish could true to visit the Amber room it was something out of this world I ask how much it was worth and and speechless. Also the pure gold in all the room I have never witnessed a english or somewhere else in Europe like this .I found this magnificent and should a privilege to experience this type of Palace full of gold rooms.

Most of the rooms in the palace exhibit artworks depicting a lifestyle rarely associated with the Romanovs. Personally, I didn't find it enjoyable because of the many paintings featuring nudity. I highly recommend visiting the Winter Palace instead, where you can explore preserved rooms that offer a richer historical perspective. Additionally, it's advisable not to bring children to this palace.

Kazan Cathedral, designed by Russian architect Hronihin, is an elegant church that began its construction in 1801 and was completed in 1811. The cathedral features a cross-shaped floor plan with a cylinder-shaped penthouse above the middle and a grand dome on the top floor. The semicircular colonnade boasts 94 columns facing the main street and encircling the square, where monuments of Russian commanders Kutuzov and Barclay de Tolly stand.
This is a must visit place in Saint Petersburg! Extremely beautiful architecture, very clean inside. This is one of the few sightseeing places that you can visit for free, no ticket required!!! On the other hand, this is a functional orthodox church. Hence, all women are required to wear a scarf or a cap over their head. Inside everything is as beautiful as from outside. Good place for taking a lot of pictures.

Can give a 6-star review if I could. This divine place, yes, divine for believers or not, Kazan Cathedral was one of the best choice to visit in St Petersburg. A mini Vatican as dubbed, our jaws were dropped all the way from it's gallery outdoors, then throughout the whole visit. Think this description has already got the interest for most people. Different to the other cathedrals in St Petersburg, Kazan has her own characters that is difficult to describe. The gallery of huge columns, the marble facets, granite floors of the size of a large public square, all gave mind-blowing visuals to any visitor stepped inside. The exhibits are well planned and placed that numerous docents could lead their tourists groups without interfering too much to other visitors like us. The besiege of the city during WWII was another key story we could learn more from. The endurance and hardship human can display is remarkable and incredible. Anyone loving art and culture will find this place fascinating and we just could not get enough of it. Even there were over a hundred of visitors inside the main chamber, we could still be awed and feel the solemnity of the church. It's like magic indeed. One will not regret going, trust your instinct.

Such a beautiful, grand process. A truly stunning church Kazan Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, on Nevsky Prospekt. The church was built between 1801 and 1811 under the direction of architect Andrey Voronikhin and its design was inspired by St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, featuring a large colonnade and a large central dome. The interior of the church is decorated with beautiful mosaics and icons, making it a must-see cultural and religious site. The photos don't really do the church's exterior justice, they only capture a portion of it, you have to come and see it for yourself.

The Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg is a magnificent neoclassical masterpiece, with its grand colonnaded façade and towering dome. It's a must-see landmark in the city, and here's why: Exterior: * Architectural grandeur: The cathedral's imposing exterior is a testament to its importance and beauty. The white façade and colonnades create a striking contrast against the surrounding cityscape. * Historical significance: Built in the early 19th century, the cathedral commemorates the victory over Napoleon and houses the tomb of Field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov. Interior: * Spiritual atmosphere: The cathedral's interior is a serene space with beautiful frescoes and icons. It's a place of worship and reflection for many. * Religious relics: The cathedral houses a copy of the famous icon of Our Lady of Kazan, which is a significant pilgrimage site for Orthodox Christians. Additional points: * Free admission: The cathedral is free to enter, making it accessible to everyone. * Guided tours: Guided tours are available for those who want to learn more about the history and architecture of the cathedral. Overall: The Kazan Cathedral is a stunning example of Russian neoclassical architecture and a significant religious site. Its impressive exterior and serene interior make it a must-visit attraction in St. Petersburg.

Place is easily reach by any means of transport. We stayed in prospect 5 and walk there for about 20 mins. They have staff who understand english and also menu in english, it spared us the hassle. Decoration is unique with a homey feeling. Menu provides plenty of option, i think it is semi fine-dining because some of the visitor wear nice clothes as we only wear short and shirt. We order their cocktail specialty tea and it came with a nice appearance and tasted okay but a bit pricey. The steak is not as tender as we want but eatable. The dumpling come in a greasy soup, and we didnt like it since it felt sticky and oily in our tounge. For 5 of us, it cost around 7000 rubel. Yes, it is an upper medium taste and a bit pricey but the service is worth it for us visitor who didnt understand the local languange.

Percorso, located in the Four Seasons Hotel, offers a luxurious dining experience with a focus on Italian cuisine. The restaurant's classic yet modern decor sets the stage for a romantic meal, with four distinct rooms including a well-stocked bar and private dining options. The menu features creative seafood, pasta, and meat dishes. While some diners praise the attentive service and delicious tomato sauce, others feel that the food doesn't quite live up to the elegant ambiance.
One has gotta give this restaurant the best service. The small little detail like when a guest brings a bouquet of flowers in her hands, the staff helps her put the flowers into the jar of water. Also with every serving, they always start with ladies then gentlemen last. Of course the taste of food with detail of delicacy from pasta to main dish like dried age rub-eye steaks to seabass are all prepared at your table. Gotta rate this restaurant with 5 stars.

Absolutely beautiful place, stylish, nicely decorated. Good wine cart, but food was so-so, honestly. I expect more from such place. The lamb was tender and juicy. Ravioli with crab and buratta - not very special. Salad with zucchini I didn’t like at all. It worth to come for the atmosphere, but not for the food.

The food here was the best we had in St Petersburg! They have a good variety of dishes without being overwhelming. The ambience and design of the restaurant is lovely. The staff all spoke English and even gave us special holders for our phones so we could watch the game on them at our table. All the staff was quite friendly but the hostess and host were super nice! The Italian dark beer was delicious and all the pastas were yummy! The fish and steak were excellent!!!

We were a large group and the restaurant was very accomodating. We had a set menu, however not every dish was served individually. Some of them were served on communal dishes and appeared messy. Taste wise the dishes were alright and portions were very large. The beef steak was thick, large, however the done-ness was inconsistent amongst the guests. The deconstructed tiramisu was excellent. Service was good. #localguides

Restaurant
Teplo is a cozy cafe-restaurant in St. Petersburg that offers a relaxed atmosphere and a diverse menu of Russian and international dishes, including pasta and pickled beetroot. The interior is adorned with books in various languages, adding to the inviting ambiance. Guests can enjoy sitting indoors or outdoors while savoring high-quality food at reasonable prices. The friendly staff, fluent in English, adds to the overall positive dining experience.
After viewing the St. Isaac's Cathedral we google searched to find restaurants nearby. Teplo gave a rating of 4.7 and a 5 mins walkable distance from the Cathedral. It feels like a quaint little place. The dining furniture and the chairs are different for every table. It may look like a small place when you enter. But it's quite large with a dessert counter and a small play area for the kids. We surely missed the entrance:) We ordered the Bruschetta with mashed chickpea and avocado, Mushroom soup with sour cream, Fried codfish with stewed spinach. All were delicious and the presentation of the dishes were also good. Red Berry drink was yummy. Our 21 months old son also enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helped with choosing the dishes as per our preferences. There's a small courtyard outside the restaurant with toys and games for the kids to play. It's a great place to be. I would definitely recommnend it and will visit again.

Cozy homey café / restaurant that serve really great quality food in very reasonable price. For the main dishes, the salmon steak and codfish are fresh and pan-seared to perfection, and the stroganoff was spot on! The waiter and waitress are all speak fluent English and they are very nice. Truly one of the best restaurant I've went in my days spent in St. Petersburg. Worth every rubles. I would return again in Summer! : )

This was my favourite restaurant in St Petersburg. All the food I tried here was delicious, even surprisingly so. The interior is unusual but cosy. The waitresses and waiters are students from a nearby university, they are cute and funny. And they speak many languages, which is handy considering the number of foreigners who seem to frequent to this restaurant.

The food here is truly fantastic and extremely reasonably priced. A tad bit bland for my liking but otherwise the food is great! A small and cosy restaurant located near St. Isaac cathedral. Small indoor seating with more seats outside. There's a playground area outside. Recommended: Pumpkin Soup, Beef Stroganoff with Buckwheat, and Spanish Hot Chocolate with Cointreau

I personally loved the food and the service at this restaurant. I had the pumpkin soup with some extraordinary toasted bread rolls with melted cheese on top (delicious!) and also the beef stroganoff which was excellent. The waiter who served us spoke very good English and was very helpful and polite. The atmosphere is warm and cosy and I will definitely visit again if I go back to St. Petersburg.

Amazing Restaurant close to St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Im summer you can sit outside and the have great tasty Russian food. Try the Bortsch and the Beef Strogranoff. Also delicious cakes and home made lemonades (black currant is the best). You can chill there. They have games, table soccer, and a whole room for your kids to play. Super friendly staff and overall a great value for my money. Super recommended

Nice and cozy, attentive staff, they speak English and take their time to explain the menu, they are friendly and the food is good. A little pricey but nothing over the top. Good place if you want to have a relaxing time with friends or family. The stroganoff beef was very tasty.

We had dinner at this restaurant and we loved it! The food was amazingly delicious and the cozy atmosphere along with the decoration design made us feel at home. The staff were super friendly and polite as well as English-speaking. I particularly liked the herring with potatoes as the starter. If I were to try a similar food in Sydney, I should ’ve paid $150, but it cost us less than $50. I highly recommend it.

Italy на Большой Морской is a fantastic Italian restaurant and bar that offers a variety of delectable dishes including pasta, pizzas, and seafood. The ambiance is cozy and inviting with warm decorations. It's an ideal spot for those seeking a more relaxed dining experience rather than fine dining. Perfect for indulging in a satisfying meal after exploring the beautiful city of St Petersburg.
We stopped by for lunch at the Italian place and ordered pumpkin soup with shrimp and pasta. The pasta and the pumpkin soup was absolutely delicious. We loved the food and the hospitality of the staff. They mentioned that they had another branch in Moscow however we did not get a chance to try that but we love the location and the food of the hotel in St Petersburg. A special thanks to the staff so making us feel welcome and kudos to the chef for amazing food.

During our visit to St. Petersburg, my teammates and I came across this restaurant when we were very hungry. We didn’t go in with big expectations, but it turned out to be a positive experience in every way. The staff were very kind and spoke English. Instead of each of us ordering a separate dish, we decided to share a sort of tasting menu: salad, pasta, pizza, and some starters… Every single dish was incredibly delicious. In the following days, we ate at other places, but we kept craving the flavors from this restaurant. If you can get a window seat, that will make the experience even better. A special thanks to the lovely waitresses for their kindness and attentive service.

Best Italian food in SPB, lived here for 2 years and have never been disappointed. Authentic taste in gourmet style, good portion sizes, moderately expensive. Delivery comes with very high quality utensils and sealed packaging every time to guarantee fresh and clean food. Recommend: Pumpkin cream soup, pasta Bolognese, Pasta carbonara, Bread with cheese and baby tomatoes, truffle pasta.

The food that me and my family ate (a calabrian pizza, carbonara pasta, four cheese pasta and ceasar salad) was very good. However, we didn’t like the service. The pizza arrived a long time before the salad and one of the pastas, and the last plate came a really long time after the others. This made me and my family to eat our dinner in different times, what we didn’t like. Also, we asked for a bread to eat with the pasta, and it arrived after we’ve already eaten the meal. We said that we didn’t want it anymore because it took too long and the waitress said we you still pay for it. Unfortunatelly, the food is very good but the service disappointed us.

For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Grand Maket Russia. Peterhof, also known as Paleizencomplex in Peterhof, is a seafront museum complex located in a former royal palace surrounded by parkland. It is renowned for its numerous fountains and is a top destination for various activities such as water sports, boat rides, kiteboarding, and exploring gardens. The palace itself offers an intriguing glimpse into the lives of ancient inhabitants through its royal rooms and exclusive chandeliers.
This amazing Park and Palace is an expression of Russian Imperial splendor. It was built by Peter the Great as his summer palace. The site is listed as UNESCO World Heritage. As you cross the parking area there is a good handicrafts market, which actually is very good and you must go through while returning from the garden. I visited in early spring, Lush gardens are mesmerizing, with extravagant palace buildings, beautiful golden statues and a cascade of fountains. Vibrant flowers were everywhere in proper layout. At 1 PM, there is some musical show at the backdrop of the palace in front of the golden statues with fireworks and some performance. I visited the place on Saturday; I am not sure the show is daily or only on weekends. We were not able to catch the show as we were not aware of it earlier. We were at the farther end of the park at that time and we reached at the spot when the show was coming to an end, however I witnessed some closing fireworks. This is a must go venue, don’t miss it while visiting St Petersburg.
Zafar K — Google review
Not too expensive and it's really really good, so many fountains. So many views. So much green. But during peak times it can get crowded. And so many people taking photos. The big museum is for additional fee, but even the garden is difficult to visit all in one day.
Ondra V — Google review
Great but a bit smaller than expected. Takes around 15 mins to walk the entire complex on your own, 45 if part of a tour. Summer season still on as of writing, so separate tickets for the garden, then the palace complex for 3,200 RUB total. You need the garden ticket to enter the compound, turn left, then enter the palace building. No line at ticket counters on a weekday 2 PM. Practically empty. Just 3-4 tour groups and they move fast.
Dung Q — Google review
This place is a must see, we had a great time and the weather was amazing. Prepare for long walk all around the park and lots of fountains perfect for the kids.
David K — Google review
expensive because you will need 2 ticket just to go inside and for museum separately as well, long walks and expensive water bottles and food. Must say amazing architecture
Ankita M — Google review
Opulence turned into landscape. The palace feels like it was built just to prove what human hands can do when given no limits. Golden statues everywhere, fountains that move with impossible precision, and that long axis leading straight to the sea, pure theater. Inside, it’s mirrors, chandeliers, and silence heavy with history. Outside, it’s joy and spectacle. You walk away a little dazzled, a little jealous, and completely convinced that beauty can be engineered.
Axel — Google review
Fable-like palace displaying the power and richness of the czars. The lavish interiors and the gigantic gardens with their water-plays are a testament to an era of nearly infinite wealth (for them of course not for the country). Impressive

We were on a cruise thru the Baltic Sea and one of the main stops was in St Petersburg. We had most of the day and had a great all day tour organized by the ship. One of the highlights was the Peterhof Palace and gardens. We had tickets in hand arranged by the cruise tour group. The palace was very nice but the gardens were spectacular. Just amazing and so perfectly maintained.

Amazing Miniature World – Best Place for Kids in St. Petersburg! Grand Maket Russia is one of the most impressive and fun attractions we visited in St. Petersburg—especially for kids! It’s a huge, detailed miniature model of the entire country, showing cities, villages, trains, cars, and even people in everyday life scenes. The level of detail is incredible, and the moving parts, lights, and sound effects make it feel alive. Children will love the interactive buttons that activate trains, cars, animals, and even volcanoes! The day-to-night lighting effect is magical and adds to the experience. You can easily spend 1–2 hours here exploring all the little scenes. It’s also educational and entertaining for adults. The museum is clean, well-organized, and easy to reach by metro or taxi. There’s even a small park nearby for kids to play after the visit. Highly recommended for families—a must-visit if you're traveling with children in St. Petersburg!

Grand Maket Russia is such an entertaining and fascinating attraction! The amount of detail is incredible,,, funny, cute, & spectacular little scenes are tucked into every corner, making it a delight to explore. As a family interested in all of Russia, we spent about 40 minutes to an hour walking around & could have easily stayed longer. One of the most impressive parts was the display of military and naval bases, which was both educational & engaging. It’s a great place to watch, learn, & simply enjoy the artistry and storytelling of the miniature world. A very important tip: arrive at least an hour before the closing time. The last ticket sales happen one hour before the museum closes. Some online sources say Grand Maket stays open until 9 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays this is incorrect. When we visited on a Wednesday, we arrived at 6:55 PM expecting a later closing, only to find the ticket office already shutting down. Staff confirmed their hours are 10 AM to 8 PM daily. Other than that, the experience was wonderful, the place is absolutely worth a visit if you’re in St. Petersburg.

Commissioned by Catherine the Great in 1782, it bears inscriptions in both Latin and Russian to honor her predecessor. Named after Aleksander Pushkin's renowned poem, it is considered a symbol of admiration for Peter the Great and an important landmark in Saint Petersburg.
The impressive statue of Peter the Great overlooks the Neva River. You can take some great photos here, depending on the weather and sunshine of course. Best dinner we had in Saint Petersburg! The traditional appetizers were to die for and they have a vodka menu with over 200 types. Main dishes were delicious and fairly priced and the waiters were great to us too. The vodka museum is quite interesting for a quick visit during your meal.

This restaurant is awesome. This place was recommended by out tourguide to have the best Beef Stroganoff and she didnt fail us. The best beef Stroganoff. Chicken kiev was super delicious as well. The dumpling maybe a bit bland but it was perfectly steamed. Prices may be a bit high but the quality is exceptional. You may need to get a reservation. Btw, they gave us a complimentary bread basket which could have cost 300 rubles. Dessert was also complimentary. We were so lucky and did not regret what we paid for the food and experience.

Absolutely loved this place. Our group came here to the Vodka museum for a short tour and walk through of the history of Russian vodka which was very interesting. After that, we had vodka tasting with chasers. They let us try 3 types: original, berry and herb. All of which were fabulous and smooth. The berry and herb one had lingering tastes which was pleasant. Buying there is also not too pricy. #localguides

The food is amazing, the waters are extremely nice. The place is a bit expensive but worth every penny!!!

Some of the best food I had in St. Petersburg! The borsch (my favorite soup) was beyond delicious. We also had a salad and a couple of mains. The restaurant itself is also big, bright, and beautiful. Would love to come back next time to try out the vodka tasting room next door.

Pel'mesh is a soup restaurant that offers a pleasant dining experience. Customers can enjoy a variety of dishes, including sausages and eggs for breakfast. The compote served during lunch is both delicious and refreshing. The soup is excellent, with perfectly cooked potatoes and tasty chicken in batter. The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and well-lit. The seating arrangements are cozy and comfortable. Adding crackers to the soup is an option that customers have.

(Translated by Google) I tried vegetarian shawarma for the first time. I ordered the usual one, but in fact it had a surprisingly unusual taste from the word at all. There are a lot of vegetables, the main composition is cabbage or its subspecies. but in comparison with the same stalls and others who prepare shawarma.. This meat is added to taste. It’s not that it’s not tasty or not edible, it’s just an unusual taste. Well, I had no desire to eat the first, second and compote, although they cook it perfectly.

(Translated by Google) I was here once, had lunch and, you know, liked it. Very inexpensive price tag, extensive menu available. Naturally, I didn’t have time to evaluate all the dishes in such a short period of time, but I really liked what I took. Well prepared, homemade. However, as I understand it, a lot of people come at lunchtime and therefore you need to stand in line. But this is not a problem, people like it and that’s why they come. Definitely five!

I took the tartar sauce. Wonderful. As a bonus, I flavored the plate with mustard from the bottom of my heart. I noticed that many people take okroshka for the first time. I'll definitely try it next time. Thank you, girls, for a delicious lunch. (Original) Случайно зашла по пути перекусить и не пожалела. Обед очень понравился. Разнообразие напитков... Спасибо, девочки, за вкусный обед.

(Translated by Google) 5 stars because the dining room is great! And in 2020 it has become rare, either expensive or inedible. Really no pretensions to a restaurant, but almost home cooking. Its main advantage is the speed of service, sometimes it only takes 15 minutes from washing your hands (there is also a toilet) to putting the tray down and running on, a wide selection of dishes and pies (I also liked them!) Every day there is a new and stomach-pleasing repertoire, soup, main course with a side dish and compote comes out cheaper than shawarma on plates at the metro. Although the place is a walk-through, there is somewhere to park a car, the traffic of people is good, but there are rarely queues. So anyone can have a quick and inexpensive meal here. Anyone Deflop then to Ginza.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of St. Petersburg, Galeria Shopping Mall is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves to shop and dine. Spanning five impressive floors, this modern shopping haven boasts over 300 contemporary international brands alongside a delightful array of eateries and a cinema. The mall's neoclassical architecture adds an elegant touch to your shopping experience, making it not just about retail therapy but also about enjoying the ambiance.
Biggest mall of spb, It's near railway station Lot of shops especially of clothes and cosmetics Food court on the top with variety of dishes Toilet not each floor and need more attention
Praveen S — Google review
It is a modern, elegant mall that benefits from a lot of natural light, which is truly great. There are many shops for all tastes with truly beautiful clothing. It's a 4 star review as it is not easy to find the toilet (WC) and the the food court floor was way too hot. A larger WC sign would be helpful and a fresher air would enhance the eating experience. There was a short line at the toilet and, at least the one I used, was not clean: pee around the toilet seat and paper on the floor. It is not the mall's fault, so this is a message to all shoppers: Don't pee on the seat or on the floor and put the paper in the trash can. The facade is truly beautiful, adorned with statues. The Moscow train station is next to the mall.

Modern, Stylish, and Family-Friendly – A Great Shopping Experience! Galleria Mall is one of the best shopping destinations in St. Petersburg. It’s a huge, modern mall with over 300 stores including international brands like Zara, H&M, and Michael Kors. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate, and there’s something for everyone—from fashion and electronics to beauty and gifts. What makes it even better is the variety of restaurants and cafes, including halal-friendly options, and a cinema with IMAX and 3D screens. It’s also very family-friendly, with a butterfly park for kids and clean, well-maintained facilities. Located near Ploshchad Vosstaniya metro station, it’s super convenient to reach. It can get crowded, especially on weekends, but the atmosphere is lively and safe. Highly recommended for shopping, dining, or just relaxing indoors—especially if you're traveling with family or need a break from sightseeing.

It’s a huge shopping mall at st Petersburg Russia. Most of the outlets here are ladies collection from cosmetics, fragrance, foot wear, fancy bags, clothing. It’s more of a high end mall and on the expensive side. Very few outlets for men. There are branded as well as local outlets here. Located on a busy street of st Petersburg. See lot of crowd in the shopping mall. Can see few outlets inside the mall premises with dolls and souvenirs.

The mall, situated at the heart of the city at the junction of Nevsky and Ligovsky Avenues, features an Empire style building that is a landmark in itself. Its central location near three metro stations and the Moskovsky railway station ensures easy accessibility. With over 300 stores of renowned global brands spread across five floors, as well as a variety of culinary delights at the spacious Eat Market, showcasing over 40 cuisines from around the world. Take in panoramic views of the city at the restaurants with terraces or opt for the various cafes available on each floor. On the 4th floor, the "Cinema Formula kino" takes entertainment to new heights with 10 movie halls, including IMAX and a VIP hall. The cinema presents films in their original language with Russian subtitles, follows the TheatreHD format, and even hosts sports broadcasts. Galeria stands as a multifaceted hub, seamlessly combining cuisine and entertainment, making it an excellent choice for a day out in St. Petersburg.

Centrally located so easy to work into your tourist walk around. Lots of great sculptures, although not the originals. Fountains, etc. In the southern part of the park there is a small lake with swans. The restored park looks great, but in a way I preferred the more old rugged look it had before. Still, come and see and relax in the shade.

Cruiser Aurora is a historic museum ship that played a significant role in the Russo-Japanese War, the Russian Revolution of 1917, and World War II. This retired Russian naval ship has an armored deck and holds a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. It survived the Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese War and was involved in marking the beginning of the Russian Revolution with its cannon fire.
This ship is a floating museum that actively participated in many significant historical events throughout the 20th century, such as the Russo-Japanese War and the Bolshevik Revolution. It’s truly amazing to walk around its corridors. Public figures such as Yuri Gagarin, Fidel Castro, and even Xi Jinping have visited this place, and there are photos of them and many others. I just wish there were more information in English, but it is worth visiting regardless, especially during sunset when you can take beautiful photos on the deck.
Felipe B — Google review
Why is the ticket price for foreigners higher than for Russians? 1000 rubles for a 10-minute tour with minimal English is quite a lot. That's why we bought a ticket for just one person for 1000 rubles instead of two for 1200 rubles. In Europe we have the same prices for everyone.
Marián T — Google review
After waiting in line for approximately 47 minutes from 2:30 PM, we finally entered the Aurora around 3:30. The ticket price for foreigners was 1,000 rubles, while Russian residents paid 600 rubles. There are also special rates for groups, people with disabilities, and retirees. (It takes around 30 mns to roam around the ship but if you’re interested it would take double the time). The ship itself is beautifully preserved. it’s clear that great care is taken with its upkeep, from the fresh paint to its cleanliness. Stepping aboard felt like traveling back in time, offering a fascinating glimpse into what naval ships of the past were like. As someone who loves history & vintage treasures, I truly appreciated this opportunity and am thankful to Russia for preserving such an iconic piece. At last, The only unfortunate thing is that there was nothing explained in English, so I had to take photos in order to translate, to understand the information. Exploring the interior was both educational and captivating. Visitors can see how naval soldiers once lived, including the spaces they worked in and even the utensils they ate with. It’s an experience I’m glad to have had, & I’m happy to share some photos from my visit.

The Savior on the Spilled Blood is a stunning 1880s church adorned with gleaming mosaics and marble, featuring colorful onion domes. Designed by Russian architect Hronihin, it boasts a cross-shaped floor plan with a cylinder-shaped penthouse and a correct dome. The semicircular colonnade consists of 94 columns facing the main street and encircling the square, where monuments of Russian commanders stand.
The interior of the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood is absolutely breathtaking. Stepping inside invites a moment of reflection — you can’t help but think about how much time and effort the artists must have put into creating such intricate details, blending colors, and forming the stunning, interwoven patterns. The mosaics and decorations are awe-inspiring, and golden accents shimmer when touched by light, creating a truly mesmerizing effect. Entry is quite affordable, though the place is often crowded. It’s highly recommended to read about the church beforehand to fully appreciate the variety of rare stones used in its construction.

Decorative bridge in the place where Fontanka river meets Nevsky Prospekt. The bridge itself is not that long, though, some tens of meters. But views at and around and statues also are definitely worth a visit. Especially during the light nights.
Juha N — Google review
This is a famous bridge in St. Petersburg that crosses the Fontanka River along Nevsky Prospekt. It is a relatively short crossing that is decorative and features four landmark sculptures of horse tamers. Constructed in 1841-42, the bridge features appealing iron railings. However, the highlight is seeing the four large horse tamer sculptures, which were installed at the two ends of the bridge between 1849-50. These are individually impressive works of art, particularly for those who enjoy viewing sculptures and statues. Note: The Anichkov Bridge and its sculptures are particularly nice to see when viewed from the opposite bank to the pink coloured Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace. If you position yourself correctly, you can capture all in the same frame, allowing some decent pictures to be taken. In the end, we liked the Anichkov bridge. This is a quick attraction to view and enjoy if you find yourself in this area of St. Petersburg during your visit to the city.

Ballet Bliss in St. Petersburg The Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg is a treasure trove of artistic brilliance, and witnessing the Russian ballet here was an unforgettable experience. The performance of "Le Corsaire" by Adolphe Adam was a masterpiece, a seamless fusion of skill, grace, and storytelling. The Mariinsky's regal ambiance and timeless architecture create an atmosphere of grandeur that befits the caliber of the performances it hosts. The attention to detail in every aspect of the production, from costumes to choreography, is a testament to the Mariinsky's dedication to the art form. The dancers, true masters of their craft, brought Adolphe Adam's vision to life with impeccable precision and emotion. Every movement seemed to tell a story, leaving the audience utterly captivated. Attending a ballet at the Mariinsky Theatre is a transcendent experience that lingers in the memory long after the final bow. It's a testament to the enduring power of art to transport and inspire, and a must for anyone seeking to be swept away by the magic of the stage.

The Mariinsky Theatre is an iconic venue with a beautiful Nutcracker performance. However, there are areas for improvement: the seats are quite uncomfortable regardless of your location, the intermission is overcrowded, making it difficult to enjoy refreshments, and the provided opera glasses are of poor quality. Despite these drawbacks, the experience is still memorable

Good and polite service. Incredibly tasty baked mussels and oyster mushroom soup. Distinctly delicious salmon salad. And to top it off, banger background music playlist and Belgian esthetics! Overall, a great place even if you don't drink alcohol (:

Very nice. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We've here after 22:00, it wasn't very crowded. After 01:00 the place is empty. The food was fine. A lot of Belgian cuisine, which is fun to try. Even if you don't drink beer there are some cocktails and wine. It's heaven for beer lovers.
Asya V — Google review
OK Belgian pub. Typical pub food and beer. Service is funny and quick. Overall not a place for lunch - we had too little beer and too few people to enjoy the place.
Andreas L — Google review
Delicious food at a reasonable price and very creative dishes. The staff was friendly & good customer service. Definitely recommend!
Aleisha — Google review
The quality of the food was extremely disappointed. Had the fresh mussels but they weren’t fresh, no tasty at all and extremely small. Food portions in general on the small side so not really good if you order thinking to share with others. They have an extensive selection of beers though. It might be a good place for drinking, certainly not for food.

The best of branch. The food is excellent. If you want not only to enjoy Belgium bier, but also good food - this is a place to visit. Onion soup is especially recommended.

Belgian beer and good food at a reasonable price and very creative dishes. The staff was friendly. Recommend

Brisket is a popular dish at this restaurant, where the service is friendly and accommodating. While some menu items received mixed reviews, the brisket stood out for its mouthwatering tenderness and flavorful taste. The BBQ joint offers a variety of meats, including ribs and sausages, served with classic sides like coleslaw and pickles. Guests can also enjoy a selection of beers to complement their meal.
We came here for lunch. We had a chicken burger and beef brisket. Both dishes tasted very well. The service is nice. Music selection was nice. The price for two was around 2000 rub 20 usd.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner. Very helpful and friendly service personnel. Thanks to all of them. Food was amazing. We ordered club steak, some beans and baked potatoes. Has a good wine and cocktail bar also. Decoration could be better and it is a bit hot inside. Besides, I highly recommend for a grill dinner.

Delicious meat, nice service , they do know English! After meal apple pie must be eaten!!
Türker N — Google review
Good restaurant very good service. Be careful when you’re comparing English menu with Russian menu. Even though it looks like the items lineup, the prices are actually different. The good news is the guys sorted out. They handled it. Great they fix the problem and I would highly recommend them. Mr. Canada 🇨🇦

Amazing food, very polite staff and warm environment. We absolutely loved this place and we visited it twice during our stay in St. Petersburg. The brisket burger was the best one I've had so far. The meat was of great quality and properly cooked. Very highly recommended!
Varvara N — Google review
Super place. Can recommend to everyone who loves meat. Texas Brisket is a must try! Also great service, they advise you in a super friendly way.
Roan S — Google review
One of the best steaks I've had in my life! It was a chuck eye roll medium rare, and I strongly recommend that you try it! 5 out of 5 for the food in general as well, the side dish and all the appetisers were great as well. The sitting arrangements kind of dampened our mood a little in the beginning; we were offered a table for 5 people despite booking a table for 6 in advance - so it was a bit crammed at our table. However, the food was still delicious and a great value for money, so I still recommend this place, if you do not mind not having a lot of space.
Tina K — Google review
So I was super impressed by this place. As someone who frequently visits BBQ restaurants in Texas I can tell you this place really holds it’s own as a bbq joint. The brisket melted in my mouth and has great flavor. With the flavors from the smoke and what the meat was seasoned with I found myself not needing any sort of dipping sauce. The wait staff was super helpful in getting me in (I walked in off the street with no reservation and it was packed wall to wall). One of the waitresses took my cell number and texted me in WhatsApp when there was space at the bar for met to sit. The bartender spoke English impressively well and the owner even took the time to chat with me about his place, it’s history, and exactly how he came to open a smoke house in St. Petersburg. 100% recommend!!

Italian restaurant
Romeo's Restaurant is a great Italian restaurant with attentive staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable.
It's a lovely cozy restaurant with delicious food. Pasta is really good, pizzas are tasty. There's a good choice of meals and drinks. And one more thing that makes this place special - a picture from iconic "Romeo and Juliet" movie (1968). Everyone who likes Italian cuisine and atmosphere - you're welcome!

Top Italian restaurant, we went twice during our visit because we loved the food so much. The service is so nice also. We tried different dishes and all is testy and delicious totally recommend

We stumbled onto Romeo's Italian Restaurant, as we were walking through St. Petersburg looking at the amazing Churches. The staff greeted us and were very accommodating to us and quickly sat us down. The food was very good quality Italian food. We shared several appetizers, and enjoyed a delicious pizza. It was nicely priced and efficient.

A very nice restaurant. Good service and the manager is Italian, he is friendly and knows how to make clients feel welcome. The menu is diverse and there are enough choices for any kind of diet. I’m definitely coming back to this restaurant in the future.
Guido M — Google review
Very good service, very clear and environment is very nice but... The schnitzel was not tasty and the diabolo chicken has no enough meat.. The autumn salad was very good!
CUBE — Google review
Great food, though the portions could be somewhat bigger though. The waiters are friendly but watch out for some of them trying to play tricks with giving you a more expensive variant of drink as ordered.

Probably the best Italian in St Petersburg! Lovely and friendly staff, very delicious meals and desserts to get you going. The Mariinsky being close is not even the best feature :)

Restaurant
FermA restaurant offers a pleasant and tranquil ambiance with excellent service. The waitstaff is fluent in English, and the menu features a diverse range of cuisines, including Russian and Italian. The portions are generous, delicious, and reasonably priced. Additionally, the dessert selection is superb. Highly recommended for its great value. The interior is tastefully designed, and the food from various kitchens is exceptional. English-speaking customers will find it convenient as the menu is available in their language.
Place was recommended by the cab driver, which they know tge town better than anyone ! WOW, food is amazing. I'm a foodie and was taken. The menu is big, and have almost too many choices to be good, but don't let that fool you ! A MUST on your list

You are met by a pleasant and calm atmosphere. Service was excellent and all the waiters spoke English. Variety of offerings ranging from Russian to Italian cuisine. Portions were generous and they were delicious. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Desserts are excellent too. Highly recommended and good value.

Just revisited this restaurant with family and had a fabulous time. The wait staff were helpful and the food spectacular. They even provided some small, but delightful complimentary desserts at the end of the meal.

Very nice interior, great food (varying kitchen). The service is good, the menu is available in English and the service often too. There is a cloakroom and sometimes live music. I've been here two times and both times I left the restaurant very satisfied. There is vegatarian food available, but only as pasta or pizza.
