Nature & Parks
Gardens
Jardin Anglais is a picturesque English-inspired park located along the shores of Lake Geneva. Established in 1855, it offers serene green spaces with stunning lake views. The park features an 1862 fountain, a flower-clock sculpture, and beautifully-tended floral displays. In addition to being a popular venue for open-air concerts in summer, it hosts Noel au Jardin, Geneva's main Christmas market.
One of Geneva’s most iconic landmarks, the Flower Clock (L’Horloge Fleurie), is a stunning fusion of art, nature, and Swiss precision. Located in the English Garden (Jardin Anglais), this giant outdoor clock was created in 1955 as a tribute to the city's long-standing tradition of watchmaking. Composed of over 6,500 seasonal flowers and plants that change throughout the year, the Flower Clock is not only a botanical masterpiece but also a functioning timepiece connected to a satellite for absolute accuracy. Visitors are often left in awe by its vibrant colors and intricate design. It’s not just the scale that impresses—stretching over five meters in diameter—but the way time is told so beautifully through nature. The second hand is the longest in the world, sweeping gracefully across a sea of blossoms. More than just a photo spot, the Flower Clock represents Geneva’s elegance, innovation, and deep respect for craftsmanship. Many tourists describe it as unexpectedly emotional—where time, beauty, and tradition intersect. A quiet moment spent admiring it often becomes one of the most memorable parts of any visit to Geneva.
Huong L — Google review
The park itself is nothing too special and not large, but the attraction is of course the view of the lake and the water jet. There is also an old style Ferris wheel which is not very large but has a certain attraction to it for being small and looking kind of old with open cars. A good place for a stroll but of course large numbers of tourists.
Timothy P — Google review
“It’s a small yet beautiful clock. I was pleasantly surprised to see it in a unique style, different from the usual pictures with blooming flowers. We visited on August 28, 2025, and learned that the clock’s design changes with the seasons.”
PAUL Y — Google review
The Jardin Anglais is a relaxing spot right by the lake — perfect for taking in the views of Lake Geneva and the Jet d’Eau. There are plenty of benches and shaded areas, so it’s easy to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. You can catch the solar train from here, which is a fun and easy way to explore the area, or hop on one of the Mouettes, the little yellow boats that cross the lake. There are also small kiosks selling souvenirs like magnets, Swiss bells, and postcards, so it’s a nice place to pick up a little reminder of your visit. If you’re feeling hungry, there’s a restaurant and café nearby where you can grab something to eat while enjoying the view. Overall, Jardin Anglais is a peaceful and convenient place to stop — a must-visit if you’re spending time by the lake in Geneva.

The Flower Clock in Geneva is a true masterpiece that perfectly combines Swiss precision with natural beauty. Located in the beautiful Jardin Anglais park, this unique landmark is made entirely of seasonal flowers and plants, arranged so delicately that the clock looks like a living work of art. What makes it even more special is how the design changes throughout the year, reflecting the seasons with new colors and patterns. It’s not just a clock, but a symbol of Geneva’s elegance and creativity. Standing in front of it, you can admire both the artistry of the gardeners and the incredible accuracy of Swiss timekeeping. The surroundings are equally charming — with the peaceful gardens, the nearby lake, and the stunning view of the Jet d’Eau. On sunny days, the vibrant colors shine even brighter, and the atmosphere is simply perfect for a relaxing stroll or taking memorable photos. For me, the Flower Clock is more than a tourist attraction; it’s a symbol of harmony between nature and innovation. A must-see spot when exploring Geneva!

Cathedral

Protestant church
Architectural Buildings
St Pierre Cathedral, also known as St. Peters Cathedral, is a significant landmark in Geneva's Old Town. The cathedral boasts a mix of architectural styles, including Neoclassical, Romanesque, and Baroque elements. It is renowned as the adopted home church of Protestant Reformation leader John Calvin. Visitors can explore the plain yet impressive interior and discover treasures dating back to antiquity on the archaeological site.
Cathedral Saint-Pierre in Geneva is best known as John Calvin’s home church during the Protestant Reformation. Built in the 12th century, it mixes Romanesque and Gothic styles. You can climb 157 steps to the north tower for Geneva’s best panoramic view. Beneath the cathedral lies one of Europe’s largest archaeological sites, with ruins dating back to the 4th century.

Impressive cathedral in the old town area with lots of period buildings around it. On a bit of a raised area but an easy walk up. Quiet, peaceful, can sit for as long as one likes. Free to enter, as it should be, but is not in some places. Different parts obviously built/added/repaired/rebuilt at different times, which is always interesting. Well worth a visit.
Timothy P — Google review
Undoubtedly, this is a majestic cathedral in the heart of Geneva, with stunning Gothic architecture and a historic stone façade. The church is very well preserved, and from its current state, you can almost imagine the grandeur it must have had 1,000 years ago. Inside, the serene atmosphere, detailed sculptures, and beautiful architectural features make it a remarkable place to explore. A must-visit for anyone interested in history or architecture.
Sweet K — Google review
Visiting St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva was truly memorable. One of the highlights for me was climbing the 160 steps to the top of the tower. The stairwell is narrow and may be a little intimidating for some, but the effort is completely worth it. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Geneva and the surrounding area—perfect for photography enthusiasts. The cathedral also has a small shop where you can browse a selection of cards and postcards as a memento of your visit. Inside and out, the cathedral offers plenty of opportunities for taking beautiful photos, from its impressive architecture to the breathtaking vistas from the tower. Despite the slightly nerve-wracking climb, it’s an experience I’d highly recommend.
Metal M — Google review
This cathedral is a highlight located in the center of Geneva's old town. The top offers a great view over the city and the lake. I recommend combining a visit with a walk to the beautiful nearby square "Place-Du-Bourg-de-Four" (my favourite place in old town). Take a break there for a snack and a drink. Enjoy!
Timo M — Google review
I always try to visit at least one church during my travels, though sometimes it doesn’t work out. I’m so glad I made it to this cathedral—it was actually one of the reasons I wanted to visit Geneva in the first place. I’d heard about the 157-step spiral staircase, and let’s just say I realized how out of shape I was while climbing it! But I made it, and it was absolutely worth it. Such a beautiful piece of history to experience. The fee to go up is currently at 7chp.

Excellent 360° views of the city, lake & mountains. The stairs were in a very good condition compared to other church towers in Europe. The entrance price was included in our tourist city pass so it's a very much worthwhile visit.

The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire in Geneva, built in 1910, is the city's largest museum and offers a diverse collection spanning over 15,000 years of history. From prehistoric artifacts to modern paintings, the museum showcases a wide range of exhibits including Mesopotamian artifacts, ancient suits of armor, ornamental musical instruments, Coptic wall hangings, and a colossal statue of Pharaoh Ramses II.
The Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva is an absolute must-visit for any tourist. Housed in a stunning neoclassical building, the museum impresses with its vast and varied collection—from ancient archaeological treasures and Swiss artists. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged and cater to art lovers and casual visitors alike, with plenty to interest families and solo travelers. I loved how the museum blends Geneva’s history with global art, creating a fascinating cultural journey through the ages. With friendly staff, affordable or even free entry for the permanent collection, and a perfect central location, this museum is an easy and rewarding addition to any Geneva itinerary. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the best of the city’s art and culture!

The museum in Geneva was truly impressive in quality. Admission was free, but any payment seemed to go toward donations. Its extensive collection was refreshing and left no room for boredom. I highly recommend a visit.

First time visiting this museum and it was a great experience. The staff were warm and helpful, offering information on guided tours and donation options. The location is excellent and easy to get to. It's a huge museum with great collections that are well-organized by theme. A unique feature is the white bridge connecting the two buildings, which has an amazing view 😎. The museum is clean, and the toilets are clean too. It's also very accessible, with elevators and accessible toilets for wheelchair users. The numerous lockers were very convenient for storing our belongings. Having a restaurant on-site is a nice bonus. Highly recommend a visit.
Doc_dells — Google review
Great museum with a solid collection of master pieces and historical artifacts. Admission is donation based. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and felt like I had the place all to myself with very few other visitors there. They also have a cafe. The second level has a nice galleries with impressionist art including a few Claude Monet & Van Gogh pieces. Plan on spending about 2 hours wondering around and admiring the works.

Truly a beautiful museum with many amazing pieces from Monet and Van Gogh. I was Impressed and even more when I heard the entrance is free!! You can pay what you like after visiting the museum. I would definitely not skip this museum when being in Geneva.

Jet d'Eau de Genève

Fountain
The Jet d'Eau de Genève is an iconic fountain located on Lake Geneva in the downtown area, and it's a must-see attraction. This stunning landmark pumps half a cubic meter of water per second, shooting it 140 meters into the air. Originally serving as a safety valve for hydraulics generated by the Rhone River, it has become a symbol of Geneva. Visitors from around the world are drawn to its spectacular views and impressive display of water.
Jet d’Eau is not just a fountain — it’s an experience! 💦 The moment you see that powerful stream of water rising high into the sky, you feel something different… something magical. Located in the heart of Geneva, with the lake and mountains in the background, the view is simply breathtaking. It’s one of those places that stays in your memory forever. If you’re traveling to Switzerland, Geneva is a must, and Jet d’Eau is a stop you can’t miss! 🇨🇭✨
Maiada M — Google review
The Jet d’Eau in Geneva is absolutely breathtaking and one of the most iconic landmarks in Switzerland. Watching the fountain shoot up to 140 meters high is a mesmerizing experience, especially when the sunlight hits the water and creates a beautiful rainbow across the mist — it feels magical and unforgettable. The atmosphere around the lake is peaceful yet full of life, with people walking, cycling, and enjoying the fresh air. The sound of the water combined with the gentle breeze makes it the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of Geneva. What I loved the most was standing close enough to feel the cool spray of the fountain while watching the rainbow appear — it’s like nature and the city coming together in harmony. Whether during the day with the sparkling sunlight or in the evening when the city lights reflect on the water, the Jet d’Eau never loses its charm. Truly, visiting this fountain is not just about seeing a monument, but about experiencing the soul of Geneva itself. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the city!
Abdulaziz S — Google review
The Jet d’Eau in Geneva was a bit of a disappointment this time — it wasn’t operating during the two days we visited. Sharing this so future visitors know it can happen occasionally. It looked like the city was busy preparing for the Christmas bazaar along the promenade, so perhaps the fountain was under maintenance or seasonal preparation. Other than that, Lake Geneva was as beautiful and peaceful as always. 🌊
Margarita S — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous and soothing experience. One can walk, run, swim or sit in peace. A vibrant yet peaceful place in the heart of the city. Safe for tourists and is a must go!
Saurabh A — Google review
Jet d’Eau de Genève is an iconic water fountain in Geneva and one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. It shoots water up to 140 meters (460 feet) high, and can be seen from many points around Lake Geneva (Lac Léman)—including Bains des Pâquis, Pont du Mont-Blanc, and of course from the pier right next to the fountain itself. Walking all the way out along the jetty to stand close to the fountain can certainly be an interesting experience. However, to be honest, it was slightly underwhelming. The Jet d’Eau is not originally a scenic attraction; in fact, it was first created in 1886 as a safety valve to release excess water pressure from Geneva’s hydraulic power network. Because the powerful water plume looked striking against the lake and mountains, it eventually became a symbol of the city and was later moved to its current location and preserved as a landmark. Apart from its impressive height and power, the fountain itself does not offer much in terms of additional features or storytelling. Still, the walk along the pier leading to the fountain and the views along Lake Geneva are undeniably pleasant and worth enjoying—especially on a calm day when the sky is clear and the Alps are visible in the distance.
Sweet K — Google review
Of course, a visit to Geneva wouldn’t be complete without seeing the famous Jet d’Eau! This iconic landmark is easy to access — you can get there either by walking or taking the bus. Parking nearby can be a bit tricky to find (well, it is Switzerland after all!). If you enjoy feeding ducks, swans, or birds, keep in mind that it’s actually illegal to do so here. Just relax and enjoy the beautiful view instead. 😊
Desi M — Google review
The Jet d’Eau is one of Geneva’s most iconic landmarks — a powerful water fountain that shoots an impressive 140 metres into the air from the edge of Lake Geneva. Originally installed in 1886 as a safety valve for a hydraulic power network, it became a permanent feature — and a symbol of the city — by 1891. Today, it stands as a proud emblem of Geneva’s spirit and engineering prowess. Visiting the Jet d’Eau is a must for anyone in the city. You can walk right up to it along the walkway, but be warned: you’re guaranteed to get wet! For the best views, try watching it from the Jardin Anglais, or hop aboard one of the mouettes, the small yellow water taxis that cross the lake — they offer fantastic photo opportunities from the water. Whether you see it up close or admire it from afar, the Jet d’Eau is a dazzling, unmissable part of Geneva’s charm and skyline.
Metal M — Google review
Jet d'Eau is the symbol of Geneva. The world famous Geneva jet fountain. You can take a picture from the promenade and if it is a sunny day you can also see the rainbow with fountain as seen in my pics. You can come close to the fountain through walkway and stand next to the base of jet fountain without getting wet as fountain is placed accordingly. You can click pictures and shoot videos here. Ideal for an evening visit. Kindly note the jet fountain is closed on Sundays. Enjoy!

The Flower Clock, also known as L'horloge fleurie, is an iconic outdoor clock in Geneva that was designed in 1955. It features a face made of 6,500 flowers and shrubs that are changed seasonally. The flowers reportedly open and close their petals according to the time of day. This floral timepiece pays tribute to Geneva's status as the birthplace of fine watchmaking and has become a symbol of the city since its inauguration.
Nice spot in front of Lake Leman. When we visited it in July 2025, it was full of street vendors who did not allow us to appreciate its beauty and the area is also under construction. It is also very close the Wheel is a beautiful place. Visit the place.

Visiting L’Horloge Fleurie in Geneva was a wonderful experience! The flower clock is truly a masterpiece of art and nature combined. The design is beautiful, colorful, and always perfectly maintained. It’s located in a lovely park near the lake, making it a great spot for a relaxing walk or taking amazing photos. The flowers change with the seasons, so it always looks different and fresh every time you visit. It’s one of the most iconic landmarks in Geneva and a must-see for anyone visiting the city. A peaceful and charming place that perfectly represents Swiss precision and beauty.

The L’Horloge Fleurie (Geneva Flower Clock) is one of the city’s most charming landmarks, perfectly combining Swiss precision with natural beauty. Located in the English Garden (Jardin Anglais), the clock faces the main road, making it easily accessible as you stroll through the park or along the lakeside, close to the Jet d'Eau. What makes it special, is that the flowers change with every season. The city’s gardeners carefully redesign it throughout the year, ensuring it always reflects the colours and mood of the time — from bright spring tulips to autumn blooms with hundreds of seasonal flowers. Although it’s a popular attraction, it’s best to visit on a dull or overcast day when there are fewer tourists. That’s when you can truly appreciate the clock’s detail and take unobstructed photos without the usual crowds. The clock was created in 1955 as a tribute to Geneva’s long-standing tradition of watchmaking. Beneath the floral design lies a fully functional timepiece, powered by Swiss engineering and precision, symbolising the city’s harmony between nature and technology. It truly is a must-see — a living symbol of Geneva’s elegance, craftsmanship, and love of beauty.

This is one of the nice places you can visit and have your photo captured, having a beautiful memory that you've been to Geneva. I would recommend the sunset, where you can take a ride in the wheel to have glance at the beautiful view of seeing over the water and the city with pretty greenery. Feels like a illustration be Angelo himself. During the night the flower clock is well lit up and captures well, and a beautiful park being next to it, you can relax and enjoy the surrounding altogether as well. Very beautiful and calm place al together. (Don't forget to have glance at the memorial statues in vicinity as well)

L’Horloge Fleurie is one of Geneva’s most iconic landmarks. A must-see, especially considering Switzerland’s deep tradition of watchmaking – and in Geneva you’ll notice watches on every corner. The floral clock perfectly combines Swiss precision with natural beauty.
S B — Google review
It is one of the most beautiful places in Geneva, with sunshine, the lake, possibly the tallest fountain in Central Europe, ferries, statues, and a Ferris wheel — it has everything, simply perfect.
Stephon C — Google review
I have seen many creative floral installations before, including floral sculptures and other well-known flower clocks. However, when I finally visited Geneva’s famous L’Horloge Fleurie (Flower Clock), I experienced a slight sense of disappointment - not because it lacks beauty, but rather because its reputation is so grand that it naturally raises expectations. To be fair, the clock’s design is intricate, and the vibrant flowers give it a sense of energy and elegance. Yet in reality, it is smaller in scale than I had imagined, which may feel a little underwhelming if one visits only for this landmark. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, there were only a few tourists around, which made the experience calm but also highlighted how modest the Flower Clock actually is. That said, if you see it as part of a leisurely walk along Lake Geneva, passing by after a meal or while enjoying the lakeside scenery, it can still be a pleasant and relaxing stop.

Small monument by the lake and an easy walk from the station as well as the old town. In a small park or green space of its own which also has a small restaurant in it. Surrounded by water, and impressive for the look of the top of the head of the statue visible from ground level. Kept clean and in good order. Can also see the water jet from the same spot.

The Brunswick Monument is a peaceful spot to visit in Geneva and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The park surrounding the monument is very well kept, with plenty of seating where you can relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere. The monument itself was built in the 19th century to honor Charles II, Duke of Brunswick, who left his fortune to the city of Geneva. It’s designed in the style of a Gothic mausoleum and is an impressive landmark with intricate details worth admiring. The location is also excellent—just a short walk from the Mouettes water taxis, making it easy to reach by lake, and close to a great choice of hotels, cafés and restaurants. Whether you stop by for a few minutes or spend an afternoon in the park, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Saint-Pierre, located in Geneva's Old Town, is a charming 850-year-old cathedral that stands as the city's main church. The cathedral boasts a mix of architectural styles, including Gothic and Ancient, due to its reconstruction over the centuries. Nearby, visitors can enjoy a typical bistro-style menu featuring an array of savory and sweet crepes in a cozy setting.
I recently visited this charming creperie and I’m honestly baffled by some of the negative reviews. My experience was fantastic! The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they speak English fluently, which made ordering a breeze. The crepes were absolutely delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. To top it off, the location is unbeatable—just a stone’s throw from the cathedral, making it the ideal spot to grab a bite while exploring the area. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the neighborhood!

I've been a loyal customer for over a decade and, for me, it remains one of the best places to eat crepes in the region. I honestly dont understand the negative reviews.

Oh my goodness they have delicious crepes! Both savory and sweet! And huge! The staff was very friendly and helpful! No issues at all! Spoke English and was helpful on recommendations and explaining the different options! I would go back if I spent more time in Geneva. Great snack spot for the do-it-yourself walking tour as it’s right next to the cathedral and a little away from the crowds.

Love this crêperie! We have been coming here for over 10 years and with the recent renovation it’s even cuter! The savory buckwheat crepes are amazing (and I am usually a sweets person) The staff are lovely and always welcoming. Highly recommend it!

Very nice creperei with an amazing view on the cathedral. The food is great and the service is friendly. The place is small and can get very busy but they do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. Very good house cider

Fantastic crepes every time we visit! :) and such warm and welcoming owners! First time around was in 2013, then in 2019 and now back to Geneva in 2025. This time we had the Crepes Popeye and Olive, delicious! we are dreaming of tasting more! :D Inside and outside sitting is perfect, a very calm area away from all the people and traffic. We will surely go back on our next visit to Geneva. Thank you CRÊPERIE Saint-Pierre, Best wishes see you next time Melissa and Joao. :)

The service was horrible - they forgot half of our requests when bringing food (including bringing food with ingredients that my child is allergic to!), we had to ask for water 4 times, it took 40 minutes to brings crepes, and the manager simply ignored us when we were waiting for the bill. The food was beyond average - gallettes looked like pizza covered in 1cm layer of cheap cheese, with 6 tiny pieces of chicken... never again!

Nestled within the luxurious Hotel de La Paix Geneva, Living Room Bar & Kitchen offers a delightful dining experience with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. This chic restaurant embraces a fine dining tradition, showcasing seasonal ingredients inspired by Italian, Spanish, and Swiss cuisines while also incorporating elements of Japanese culinary philosophy. Guests can indulge in an array of dishes such as fresh catch of the day, free-range chicken casserole, and exquisite scampi paired with homemade gnocchi.
Impeccable and outstanding service. Treated myself to lunch as I hadn’t had a solid meal since I arrived. They never disappointed me. Everything was what I hoped for and more. From the service to the food. I couldn’t have asked for a better day to have lunch here. The view was great and it was right across from Lake Geneva. My reservation wouldn’t pull up but they were ready and willing to accommodate me. I did find the reservation after I was seated which was not a problem at all. I enjoyed every bit of my time here and would do it all over again in a heart beat.

Good breakfast experience. Service was pretty quick and attentive. The restaurant is located within Ritz Carlton hotel. Menu is pretty extensive for the breakfast. Ordered their pancakes and waffles both tasted good, the portion size is too small. Same with the orange juice. Vibe and seating is cozy and comfortable, might be worth a shot if you’d like to experience it. But there’s plenty of other delicious options around.

We went there for dinner on a Sunday, and the place was practically empty, but we decided to give it a try as the reviews here generally look great. As we went for early dinner (17:30 ish) they only had the afternoon menu available which actually wasn’t a problem for us, and they continued to let us sit even when the evening serving began. The service is pretty good, with some beaming with service smiles and quality, and others a little more low key, but still service minded. The food is on the expensive side, but it was to be expected of a relatively fancy hotel restaurant, but unfortunately we felt the food didn’t really reflect the price. Although the Caesar salad was good, the club “sandwich” is made of toast bread which had gone rubbery somehow? Probably due to the toasting. It was a bit lacking in taste, something I personally managed to fix with the leftover sauce from the salad. My companion had ordered the sea bass, which sounded amazing but probably was the biggest disappointment. The serving size was quite a joke, something that looks the size of half an appetizer, yet was probably the most expensive thing on the menu costing around 40 CHF (I think). The fish was tender enough, but the oysters had the “fishy” smell and taste in the not so good way. All in all, food was edible, though expensive, the service was not bad, but at least we had a great view of the water in clean and quiet surroundings.

The Living Room bar is truly a gem in the city. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the tone for an unforgettable experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to assist you with any drink recommendations or inquiries. Now, let's talk about the table side Parmesan Risotto. It is a culinary masterpiece that deserves every bit of praise it receives. The risotto is cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of creaminess and a rich, cheesy flavor that melts in your mouth. The table side preparation adds a touch of drama and excitement to the dining experience, as you watch the chef skillfully mix the ingredients together. Every bite of the Parmesan Risotto is a delight, showcasing the chef's expertise and dedication to creating a dish that is both comforting and indulgent. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the texture is silky smooth. It is a dish that truly captures the essence of fine dining. Overall, The Living Room bar and their table side Parmesan Risotto are a must-try for food and drink enthusiasts alike. You won't be disappointed with the exceptional service and quality of the dishes.

For a last dinner in Geneva before flying out, my wife and I decided to try this small restaurant just off the entryway in the Ritz Carlton Hotel down the street from where we were staying. It was cozy, intimate, quiet (on a Sunday), and an all around lovely experience. The staff were attentive and kind without being fussy or intrusive. The food more than lived up to what I would expect from "the Ritz" . It was delicious and exquisitely presented from the lamb's lettuce and roast duck salad with beetroot dressing to the scallops and ravioli, to the amazing dessert. And the recommended wine was great with the meal.

Given the prestige and price of the food I was expecting to have a gastronomical roller-coaster filled with unique tastes and combinations. In the end however the food was good but nothing to write Google about. There was absolutely nothing wrong by any means and the service is easily one of the best I've ever gotten in Switzerland but there was nothing that would actually make me want to come back for more.

Nestled in heart of Geneva, this high-end restaurant offers a dining experience that elegantly combines exceptional cuisine and impeccable service. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with an atmosphere of refined sophistication, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. The culinary journey began with a mojito that was nothing short of outstanding. Smooth and perfectly balanced, it served as an exquisite prelude to the meal. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the risotto, prepared with a flourish right next to my table. The risotto was a masterclass in taste and texture, creamy and flavorful with an artful presentation that delighted the senses. For dessert, I indulged in the chocolate moelleux, which was a sublime ending to the meal. The exterior was delightfully crisp, giving way to a warm, molten center that was pure decadence. Overall, the restaurant delivered a seamless blend of ambiance, taste, and presentation, making it a standout destination for fine dining.

Lovely brunch! The service is friendly and top notch. Food is really really good. I had my best French toast, where they leave custard inside, oozing out as you cut it into pieces. The staff is very child-friendly and would accommodate them with books, special meals and smiles. Also, EXTREMELY reasonably prices for Geneva, and quality. I would go there again and again and again...

Fine dining restaurant
Fiskebar, located at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, offers a refreshing and chic dining experience with its Nordic-inspired cuisine led by chef Benjamin Breton. The restaurant's menu features a variety of seafood dishes, with the hero scallops starter being a popular choice among diners. The tasting menu is well-balanced, offering a mix of tastes and textures for a flawless dining experience.
I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Fiskebar in Geneva. The female chef is doing wonders with so many delicious dishes. Will go back soon.

From the moment we stepped into Fiskebar, we knew we were in for something special. The experience far exceeded our expectations. We chose the signature tasting menu, and each course was a masterpiece. The flavours were refined and inventive, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. It was a journey through Nordic-inspired cuisine that delighted all the senses. What truly elevated the evening was the impeccable service. Our server, Clement, was outstanding. He was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and wine pairings. His warm and professional presence made the experience even more memorable. The ambiance, culinary artistry, and personalized service made this one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Geneva who appreciates fine dining done right.

Fantastic Chef and unique menu! She only serves the best and freshest… one of the best chef in town, good atmosphere, also you can enjoy outside if the weather is good. Variety of vines, good service and delicious meals. Definitely deserves a visit if you’re in Geneva.

Really amazing creative food by a superior and very creative chef - the cod gnocchi dish was incredible in particular. The three small appetizers to start were very creative and tasty. The bread and butter were exceptional. The steak portion was very stingy (given the very high price) but the asparagus was good. The Rhône wine by the glass was excellent. The cheeses on the cheese plate were very bland and all tasted the same, but overall the food was excellent. Very strange and incredibly rude experience sitting down where we had agreed on a table but the person told us we had to sit elsewhere. We were so upset we were going to leave but we couldn’t find another place. Otherwise the service was very good but they lose a star for this.

What a fantastic experience. Chef Francesca’s fusion menu of Mediterranean and North European flavours is delicious. Great menu. First class service and a stylish laid back ambience. I will definitely be back.

Some of the most unique cocktails I’ve ever had. Not to mention too notch bar snacks that came out with the drinks for free. And if you stay for dinner you won’t be disappointed with the fresh fish options, lobster roll or with another unique creation. Definitely recommend for a top tier bar vibe.

Creative and tasty dinner, we truly enjoyed our meal. Great freshness in the dishes like the fennel salad, or deep flavors in, for example, the jus with the steak. The special (oeuf parfait) was out of this world! Despite its name, FiskeBar offers a selection of dishes for everyone: incredible fish and seafood, but also several options of meat and vegetarian dishes. Excellent wine selection. Service was very kind and attentive. A must go when in a Geneva!

Restaurant Le Lacustre is a culinary gem located in the heart of Geneva, offering an unforgettable gastronomic experience with breathtaking views of Lake Geneva. Situated by the Mont-Blanc bridge, it is one of the city's few true lakeside dining options. The casual, window-lined room provides stunning views of the Rhone and serves traditional Italian fare and wine. Families can enjoy this family-friendly spot with giant pizzas being a popular choice, especially for kids.
Lois was an amazing waitress! She was very welcoming, kind, and tended to all of our needs. Our food came out so quickly, and it was the best pasta I have ever had! Definitely recommended the pesto pasta if you decide to come here. The staff were very accommodating to my family of 6 and we were seated right away. This spot right on the water was absolutely beautiful, and I recommended sitting outside if you dine here. Lois, thank you so much for such a meaningful experience!

After a long time we had dinner here at this Molina restaurant. The restaurant is located on a great place, close to the lake and having a great view of the surroundings from their terrace. Unfortunately the noice level at the terrace is high and it us difficult to have a conversation, unless with you direct neighboor. As to the service, one can say this is rather slow. The waiters work hard but have to many tables to manage. It took half an hour yo take our orders for drinks. We started with a two large mixed salads wjich we shared amingst 5 persons. The salad was well seasoned and comprised of fresh salads, tomatoes, paprika etc. Unfortunately the salad was not well washed and we all tasted sand. As to the pizza's again we had tobwait a long time before they were served. Unfortunately my margarita pizza was lukewarn and the dough was quite hard to eat. Presumably my pizza was waiting too long before the other pizza for our table were ready. The quality of my pizza was not what i am used to when eating a pizza a molino. We finished off with a nice dessert which was good.

Came here for dinner, ordered the margherita pizza and pesto penne, both were good. We liked the pizza so much that we had to order another one, try it with their chilli oil, you won’t regret it. Their latte macchiato and tiramisu were also good. The impeccable service provided by Adrian made our experience 10x better!

Excellent restaurant with great service. Our waitress Kesorn was extremely helpful and very friendly. She made sure to explain the menu options in details to the point of even saying that any of the plates in the menu could be done in any way to our liking. I highly recommend this restaurant for food service and for the lovely view of the lake. KESORN made the night even more enjoyable for us. MERCY BEAUCOUP!!!

I visited this restaurant on a friend’s recommendation, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The setting is tasteful yet relaxed, with a lake view that immediately puts you in a good mood. You can feel the passion and attention to detail in everything. A special thanks to Calogero, who was kind, attentive, and always ready with great advice — a presence that truly makes a difference. The cuisine is authentic, with clean, balanced flavors — just the way I like it. It’s the kind of place where you eat well, feel at home, and sense genuine warmth in every gesture. I left with a full stomach, a lighter heart, and the feeling of having spent the evening somewhere special.

Stupidly, we didn't book a table on New Year's Eve! We walked around Geneva for about an hour asking restaurants if they had a table available. Everywhere fully booked all night (obviously). But, when we were about to give up, we went into this beautiful restaurant next to the lake, and yet again, fully booked all night. However, when I pried further they offered the bar area which is never used for eating and is away from anyone else. This was a dream come true for us and they made a great effort with us and we could watch the pizzas being made. Food and service was incredible and we had a lovely night.

Additionally, MANOR Genève boasts a market of fresh products on its ground floor and provides an excellent lunch spot.
This place is massive! So many deals so little time 🤣. I found the prettiest pair of earrings. But with seemingly endless levels to explore, there's something of interest for the whole family. Same thing goes for the lunch options on the top floor, virtually endless selection all freshly prepared and ready to enjoy.

Not so great value if you don't go early in the morning, or wait for lunch hour. We reach the food court half an hour after 10 AM and already no egg, barely found something to eat. You cannot have breakfast with fruits and juice. You need to ensure at least eggs in any forms and butter. Will not make the same mistake coming here. Not a value just people staying in line for nothing.

Food floor rather impressive with all sorts of foods including fresh stuff to take away. Good bakery section which also sells rolls and sandwiches and so on freshly made which make for a good lunch. Reasonable pricing. Gets quite busy particularly around lunchtime but worth a visit anyway. Obviously other floors too with the usual department store stuff.

Beware Manor Jewellery department. Probably fine for a casual purchase, but I ordered a wedding ring here and it was like a comedy sketch, only, it almost ruined my big day. I selected a ring in the shop, took lots of photos of the beautiful ring, asked for them to do ring fitting for me as I have never had a ring before. After trying on their various ring sizers etc the advisor seemed satisfied with the size selection so we went ahead with the order. After the order was submitted, I compared the order with the photo’s ring details. THEY ORDERED the WRONG RING. So I went back and they corrected the product code in the order to the correct ring. A few weeks later I was called to collect my order. THE SIZE WAS WRONG! And the date of my ceremony was approaching. They said they would order a correct size free of charge with URGENT processing - I later realised they actually ordered a resizing - a subtle but important difference. Finally, the afternoon before my wedding day I was told it’s ready - As I was already busy that day I had to go ON THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING to try on and collect my ring. It finally fitted, and then they wanted to charge me 50 CHF for the extra services. So I had to wait around until the management were called to seemingly grudgingly package up my ring in total silence then mumbled a word of excuse as they gave me my box ‘without additional charge’. I essentially missed morning preps for my own wedding thanks to this chaos - BUYERS BEWARE

The Reformation Wall, located in the beautiful Parc Des Bastions in Geneva, is a significant monument honoring the Protestant Reformation and its influential figures. This international landmark features statues and bas-reliefs depicting key individuals such as John Calvin, Oliver Cromwell, William Farel, and others who played pivotal roles in the 16th-century movement. The wall serves as a tribute to the events and people of the Protestant Reformation and showcases the motto of Geneva inspired by Calvinist philosophy.
This wall is located in a beautiful park and it is a very interesting installation that gives people an insight into the reformation movement. Loved reading about the people and the impact of reformation on Geneva.

The Reformation Wall is a very impressive group sculpture built into a large stone wall, featuring key figures of the Protestant Reformation. Each statue includes a short description, making the visit both educational and culturally meaningful. The monument is located in Parc des Bastions, a peaceful and scenic park that’s perfect for a relaxing walk. A great place to spend some quiet time and enjoy a bit of history in the heart of Geneva.

During my visit to the Geneva Reformation Wall, I walked through the beautiful Parc des Bastions. The monument itself honours the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, their stone figures standing tall against the old city walls, with a short informative description. At the park entrance, there were a numerous centenarian information posters and QR codes that let visitors learn more about lives and achievements of local residents. It was quiet and peaceful location and a good place to sit, relax, and reflect on history.

Nestled within the tranquil Parc des Bastions, the Reformation Wall stands as a monumental tribute to Geneva’s pivotal role in the Protestant Reformation. Inaugurated in 1909 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Calvin’s birth and the 350th anniversary of the University of Geneva’s founding, this impressive structure stretches 100 meters along the old city walls . The monument features four central 5-meter-tall statues of key Calvinist figures: William Farel, John Calvin, Theodore Beza, and John Knox. Flanking them are smaller statues of other influential Protestant leaders, including Frederick William of Brandenburg, William the Silent, Gaspard de Coligny, Roger Williams, Oliver Cromwell, and Stephen Bocskai . The Latin motto “Post Tenebras Lux” (“After Darkness, Light”) is prominently inscribed, reflecting the Reformation’s ideals and Geneva’s enduring spirit.

Nice place to swim, jump into Lake Geneva, play on kids playground and get food (fondu and more) and drinks. Parking is difficult though - - try the hotel garage a few blocks away. Cheap (2 Euros per person), yet if you leave, you'll have to pay to re-enter on the same day.

Such a lovely place to have lunch at! The queue was quite long over lunch time but super worth it. Delicious food plus amazing lake view with swans and ducks swimming around you. I had this amazing salmon salad that tasted fresh and sat on the deck so I can be closer to the nature. It was such a memorable lunch at Geneva lake! Also, the staff told me which food contains pork in case I don’t eat it. Very kind! 😊

For only 2 euros, you can access the beach front and the bathrooms. I went in the morning when barely anyone was there and stayed all day. There was a mix of locals and tourists there. Very good value for food. Big portions. Tasty food. Smilly, friendly staffs. Just super busy during lunch time, but we still managed to find a seat during weekday lunch time.
Lydia L — Google review
Fairly good selection but the place was crowded. It can be warm but thanks there is a dining place outside.
Ahmad Y — Google review
Great restaurant in such a wonderful department store. We got food from downstairs, microwaved it in the store and ate it at the restaurant since there are a variety of food options on both the ground floor and fourth floor. The restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and is a comfortable place to eat and chill for as long as you need.
Kally — Google review
They have so much well presented food on offer and even make fresh pizzas, Pad Thai, crepes etc. The prices are amazing for Geneva. I'm gluten and dairy intolerant, and there wasn't much available that's suitable for me unfortunately (salads and fruit juices mainly). However the staff were really kind and cooked me a fresh portion of salmon, vegetables and potatoes without any of the creamy sauce that normally goes in it, so I got to have a substantial meal for dinner. We had dinner outside on the rooftop terrace and it was lovely.

A lot to choose from. Friendly service, food tastes fantastic. Will definitely be back.

Great selection of moderately priced, delicious food in an expensive city. It was very crowded. It was impossinle to sit together with our small group.

Great place, where you can choose from many options. It is also not as expensive as everywhere else. And if feels cozy and nice. The staff there is friendly and helpful. Food is good and I cannot say anything bad about this place. I'd recommend it.

Buvette des Bains is a cafe-restaurant located within the Bains des Paquis, a historic public swimming baths and spa on the right bank of Lake Geneva. It offers a picturesque setting by the lake, making it a popular spot for coffee, drinks, or light bites. Whether enjoying breakfast on the outdoor terrace in summer or indulging in hearty fondue in the heated cabin during winter, this year-round establishment attracts a diverse crowd.
“Cozy spot by the lake with amazing fondue! The atmosphere at Buvette des Bains is relaxed and authentic, perfect for enjoying a classic Swiss experience. The fondue was rich and flavorful, served with fresh bread and a beautiful view of the water. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Geneva!”

Such a lovely place to have lunch by the lake! I actually left a similar review thinking it was Bains des Pâquis, but it turns out I was at this restaurant instead 😅. The queue was long at lunchtime but definitely worth it. The food was delicious, I had a fresh salmon salad, and the lake view was absolutely beautiful, with swans and ducks gliding by as I ate. Sitting on the deck made it feel so peaceful and close to nature. The staff were also very kind and thoughtful, even pointing out which dishes contained pork in case I didn’t eat it. A small gesture that really stayed with me. 😊
Rana Z — Google review
It was packed full of people! I have no French communication skill and ordered 'Dish of the Day' = big portion. Food was delicious and divine to match the season and local ingredients! Highly recommended 👌
Xueru L — Google review
Lunch menu changes each day. The lamb ribs and mushroom risotto with stewed pumpkin was one of the best meals of my life - bravo chef. Usually the meals re very good but sometimes they are absolutely exceptional. Bathrooms are a bit of a worry - it’s very easily accessible for insects to enter, and so there are often spider webs full of small flies and spiders. I really wish they would do more as I avoid the bathroom facilities at all costs and offer depart sooner than I would like for that reason alone. Overall I do love this place, especially the courteous and attentive staff and general atmosphere of the location.

Lovely. Situated right inside Lake Geneva, with a sauna and a giant swimming pool (you swim in the lake!) just opposite as well as some of the finest food coming out of this bakery .. it doesn’t’ get much better! There’s usually quite a wait with a long line, for good reason. The quality of the food is great, and service is superb. The cheese fondue is a cracker, and those cakes they make .. gotta stay in shape after, hard to say ‘no’.

Was there on a rainy November day; packed with people waiting in line. Whenever I am in Genève I have a lunch there. It’s just perfect, supreme tasty food at a very reasonable price; as a Swiss I know to value such an amazing effort. Thanks!

Over-rated spot, coffee was average but their sweet was nice. Good customer service but were seated away from the view although i reserved before hand and the tables were empty. It seemed that we were expected to order lunch although they have a coffee menu..

The bling bling side of Geneva The rooftop had an amazing view on the jet d’eau of Geneva but you should be lucky to find a seat with a view We didn’t book but we were able to get a table with a view Sunset is best time to go if you want to enjoy the view, otherwise it seemed to be a good place to party in style

Unfortunately, we couldn't get a table on the terrace as it was crowded, while the indoor area felt almost empty and quite warm. The food was delicious though, and we managed to take some nice photos outside with the view.

Very accommodating, modern bar. If you are in Genéve - and want a lively, yet peaceful retreat with fantastic vistas across the Lake and the city, this is the place to be. A photograph cannot compare to the real thing. Our drinks were made perfectly, they were fresh tasting, and the high-class liquor made great defense against the cold but gentle March evening breeze sweeping in from across the lake. We visited in the early spring of 2023, and I remember every taste, scent, sound and sensation I experienced sitting atop the city surrounded by mountains. You must visit. Thank you to all the team at the bar, that made our visit to Rooftop42 one that we will not forget!

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Rooftop 42 in downtown Geneva. On the eighth floor, this place has a beautiful view over the lake with a sizable terrace. We had a big table with 11 persons. The service was very pleasant and timely. My food was very good from start to finish. I would highly recommend for business lunch on a sunny day. I don’t know the price as the lunch was offered.

The terrace offers a lovely view and the food was good. However, the welcome could be improved — the woman who greeted us was glacial, and the rest of the staff seems overwhelmed. A warmer and more attentive reception would really enhance the overall experience.

Nero's Pizza Marché is a popular spot for grabbing Roman-style pizza al taglio, known for its delicious and convenient pizza slices. The pizzeria offers a variety of season-less and seasonal pizzas made with high-quality ingredients, including favorites like Nduja with pickled onions and mozzarella, funghi & mascarpone, spicy salame with peppers, regina bufala, vegetarian focaccia, and tiramisu.
One of the best pizzas I've had in Geneva. It's a takeaway place. The crust is super soft and fluffy. Was very hungry when I arrived at this store and wanted to try the basic ones first. Afree eating one of the basic ones, i fell in love with it and kept eating more. The portion is decent, enough for 1. The taste is really good. Would definitely visit again. Kudos✌🏻

Quick and great pizza for on the go! I stopped by for lunch yesterday and grabbed a slice of the pepperoni and it was amazing. The crust was nice and crunchy and the sauce and topping were full of flavor. They had many other options and even what they called the pizza of the week which looked great. I stood in and ate my slice and then headed out to finish my afternoon. Swing by this great pizza place for a slice or two, you won’t regret it.

We were looking for something quick to eat since we arrived a bit late to Geneva. We found this place and what a gem! Amazing pizza. We all ordered the prosciutto and buffala and it was perfect! They hear the pizza and the prosciutto gets crispy!

There is no sit down. It’s about the pizza by the slice to go. AMAZING! Real variety of wonderful choices… but the CRUST! So crisp but full of air pockets. The serving for CHF 9 is almost a meal for am man. But I had to get another! Wow

I have come to this place a few times and the pizza is quite good! Definitely some of the best pizza you’ll find in Geneva. The staff are super nice and were happy to speak in Italian with me— always a good sign for a pizza place! They have a good range of vegetarian options and I was quite happy with their selection for my order with the too good to go app!

Don't miss out this unassuming pizza shop along a bustling street. It serves up delicious yet affordable piping hot pizzas!
Clarence L — Google review
If it weren't for the app Toogoodtogo, I wouldn't have tried this place, to be honest. A pizza slice for an average of 8chf? Seems pretty ridiculous to me. But if you get their pizza through the app, you're paying 8chf for THREE slices. For that price, their pizza is worth it. It's pretty heavy on the dough/crust and not so heavy on the toppings. Their staff is friendly. Which is a huge plus at an overpriced fast-food pizza place. Again... NOT worth going UNLESS you're using the Toogoodtogo app.

I ordered a veggi pizza box, consisting of five different slices of pizza. The pieces were tasty and crispy. I would reorder!

With over 130 shops catering to fashion, food, entertainment, movies, and healthcare services, Balexert provides a diverse shopping experience.
Fantastic multi-storey hopping mall right across our stay. Had lots of shopping options and eatouts. Spacious, clean, and vibrant space to hang out longer. Having movie theater and active fitness incorporated is an extra asset to this mall.

Just across the street from our hotel is this fantastic shopping mall with everything you could want. It was a breeze to restock our supplies, and the selection was amazing. From tech stores to clothing shops, they had it all. I even picked up a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL there and couldn't be more pleased.
Kenneth A — Google review
Balexert is the biggest shopping mall in Swiss Romande, and it definitely lives up to its reputation as a clean, well-maintained, and diverse retail space. You’ll find a wide variety of shops ranging from fashion and electronics to groceries and lifestyle essentials. For Switzerland, the mall feels quite large—almost “the size of Switzerland” compared to other local options—though it’s not on the same scale as the mega malls you’d see in the USA, Malaysia, or Dubai. Balexert isn’t just about shopping. It also features entertainment options like a bowling alley and a video game arcade, which make it family-friendly and a good spot to spend an afternoon. There are also a handful of fast-food chains, making it easy to grab a quick bite. That said, the mall doesn’t quite feel cozy or warm—it’s practical rather than atmospheric. One noticeable drawback is the lack of true sit-down restaurants. While fast food works for convenience, the absence of diverse dining options makes the experience feel a bit incomplete, especially if you want to enjoy a proper meal while shopping. Overall, Balexert is a clean, spacious, and practical mall with plenty of shops and some fun activities, but it could improve its atmosphere and restaurant offerings to truly stand out.

One big shopping mall in Geneva. It has many tenants for fashion, electronics, shoes, toys, books, bags, beauty, accessories as well as many other stores. Big supermarkets are also available here like Migros and Denner. H&M, C & A, Etam, Kookai, Buzzano, Lovisa are to name a few. Cafes and restaurants are also abundant. There are cinema, banks and services like medical center, post office, mister minutes, travel agents, and more. It even has bowling alleys here. So very complete. The location is also very strategic, can be easily reached by tram, buses and of course personal vehicles. Parking lots are huge and there are designated area for ♿️ person with disabilities. Entrances are also disability friendly. Happy to be back here

I went on a tour! I thought it was okej, the tour in it self was not that special it was rather being there that was cool. (My gf really liked it tho she thought the tour guide was so good). Con- we where on time but the tour was not which meant we had to wait in the heat when we was there on time. Also i wish the tourguie would say when we can take photos cause sometimes it was lite unclear especially when i see other pepole have taken photos that i wish i could have. But overall it was really good and i am happy we went and I would recommend other to book to. The absolut best was the guy in the stamps both, i was really kind and made it realy memorable for us!

I visited the UN headquarters in Geneva and really enjoyed the group tour. Walking through the big halls, especially the Assembly Hall and Human Rights Council Chamber, was fascinating. It felt special to stand in the rooms where so many important discussions actually happen.
Mriam A — Google review
Unfortunately we couldn’t get in. They said only booked tickets could get in. But there is no availability for over a year. There might be something wrong with buying tickets online. Even though, from outside the building looks great. Should go for a walk around even without tickets.
José B — Google review
How stupid can they be? Imagine you have a beautiful art deco building, but then you build such an ugly fence that it can hardly be seen anymore. Could that be a typical result of an overrated, overfunded overpaid underbrained stuffy organisation? We had booked a tour a few months before and the process of getting the security passes was terrible. We just got inside one of the ugly 1960s buildings (and the ceiling decorations were nice) and we could at least see the nice historic art deco building from the back. There are renovations going on, but It sure would have been possible to guide us through a few rooms of this immense building, but the bureaucracy wouldn’t care for visitors. High on security, low on everything else.
Sylvester H — Google review
How does someone rate one of the most important places on the planet. Our guide was incredibly well versed with all goings-on at the UN and spoke more languages than all five of us combined. Be prepared with any questions as your guide will be more than capable of answering them. Book the private tour for an even better experience. Be sure to enter at the Pregny Gate.
Greg T — Google review
Beautiful building! Even from the outside, the Palais des Nations is worth a stop, especially to see the famous Broken Chair nearby and the line of flags!
Liam D — Google review
The UN was the top of my sons list when we booked our trip to Geneva, so we just had to get tickets to get inside! You have to book a tour to get inside the gates, we booked online roughly 3 weeks before, but it tells you to do it as soon as you can as it books up fast! You get a guided 1hour tour which is OK, but it's honestly worth booking just to get inside the gates, so many brilliant photo opportunities! The buildings and gardens are beautiful! My son was so happy getting his picture with the flags! Our tour guide was lovely, I can't remember his name! He really did try to squeeze as much in as possible in the short time! It's worth it as the tickets are quite cheap!

The International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva offers a captivating and humbling experience, showcasing the ongoing humanitarian efforts of these organizations. The museum's permanent exhibition, "The Humanitarian Adventure," is divided into three sections, delving into the founding principles, aid for families affected by conflict or genocide, and disaster relief efforts. Visitors are encouraged to use audio guides to fully immerse themselves in the affecting video interviews with individuals impacted by the Red Cross's work.
Loved it! I didn't know that the Red Cross started in Switzerland. It's small but filled with lots of information. Lots of videos to watch and there's an interactive game. I saw some very nice at pieces constructed by the refuge prisoners. My favorite was a tea set made out of fish bones! There's a snack shop and a bookstore area too. The prices weren't ridiculous. This was a really good trip to this museum.

Visiting the International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva was a deeply moving and enlightening experience. The museum’s innovative exhibits, including holographic testimonies and immersive installations, effectively convey the profound impact of humanitarian work across the globe. The interactive displays and multimedia presentations are designed to engage visitors of all ages, making complex topics accessible and compelling. One of the most poignant aspects of the museum is its focus on personal stories and real-life accounts, which highlight the resilience and dignity of individuals affected by conflict and disaster. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding and Inspiring Experience The Red Cross Museum in Geneva is truly exceptional. From the moment you enter, you're immersed in powerful stories of humanity, compassion, and global impact. The exhibitions are modern, interactive, and deeply moving — combining audio, visuals, personal testimonies, and historical artifacts in a way that really makes you reflect on the importance of humanitarian work. The section on humanitarian actions across different crises around the world was especially impactful. I loved how the museum highlighted real people and their stories — it felt very personal and emotional. The audio guides were excellent and available in many languages, making the experience even more engaging. The museum is well-organized, easy to follow, and beautifully designed. It’s not just a historical place, but also a reminder of our shared responsibility toward others. I left feeling inspired and grateful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Geneva — it’s a must-see!
Aaditi P — Google review
We were disappointed by the permanent display at the Red Cross Museum. It was small and a bit disorganized. Some of the descriptions weren’t aligned with the actual displays and we had to search for them. The museum also undercut its own achievements and accomplishments and could have had more displays, exhibits and details on its history, role and responsibilities, etc. We actually went through it twice because we thought we had missed some rooms and/or displays. The audio was automatic in some areas and in others you had to put in the numbers.
Erin O — Google review
A powerful museum showcasing the history of humanitarian work through interactive and emotional exhibits. Well organized and modern, it offers a deep look into global aid efforts. A must visit in Geneva!
Alejandro C — Google review
For CHF 15 there really isn't a lot to see- only 3 small permanent exhibitions. All the temporary exhibitions are closed until October. Took only an hour
Max P — Google review
Before this visit,I had no idea that the International Red Cross and Red Crescent performed so many humanitarian functions. Going through the exhibits, I felt a deep sense of sadness at how the various wars and natural disasters affected the local population especially the children. This will be a sobering learning journey and reminder that there are wide ranging repercussions for all actions. Going back up to the entrance, there was an ad hoc dance and performance by a migrant group, the energetic and infectious mood is uplifting and gives hope again. Great experiential journey!

The Broken Chair is a 12-meter-high wooden sculpture located in front of the Palais des Nations, created by artist Daniel Bursett in 1997. Commissioned by Handicap International, it serves as a powerful protest against cluster bombs and landmines, symbolizing the devastating impact of these weapons on civilians during times of war. The chair's broken leg represents the loss of human limbs caused by landmine explosions.
The water display on a hot day is a good cooling tool. Am still to fully grasp the concept of the broken chair though. Luckily on this day there were not so many people and we could take pictures and videos with fewer photo bombers. 😎

The Broken Chair sculpture is in Geneva, it is a powerful symbol advocating for the prohibition of landmines. It is created by Daniel Berset, the 12-meter-high wooden structure features a broken leg, representing the destruction caused by these weapons. It stands as a reminder to world leaders of the human cost of armed violence and the need for international cooperation to protect civilians
Rajesh N — Google review
A towering symbol of peace and protest, the Broken Chair stands proudly in front of the UN. Its shattered leg speaks silently for victims of war and landmines—reminding us of the cost of violence and the power of resilience. Simple, striking, unforgettable.
Suresh P — Google review
Very good symbolic structure near United Nations in Geneva.
Utkarsh B — Google review
In the heart of Geneva, right across from the United Nations headquarters at Place des Nations, stands a monument that’s impossible to ignore — the Broken Chair. Towering 12 meters high and crafted from 5.5 tons of wood, this powerful sculpture stands tall on three legs, its fourth leg shattered — a haunting yet dignified symbol of resilience and protest. Originally created in 1997 by Swiss artist Daniel Berset, and constructed by carpenter Louis Genève, the Broken Chair was commissioned by the NGO Handicap International. Its message is simple yet profound: to oppose the use of landmines and cluster bombs, and to honor the courage of those who live with the consequences of war. 🌍 Surrounded by flags of every nation, the sculpture looks as if it’s always mid-sentence — broken, yet upright. It doesn’t scream; it stands in silence, commanding attention with its quiet strength. It reminds every diplomat, every tourist, and every passerby of their responsibility to work toward a world where no one has to lose a limb to war. Walking up to it, you feel a shift — from being just a tourist to being a witness. A reminder that art can be more than beautiful; it can be political, personal, and painfully real. It’s not just a chair; it’s a plea for peace, a tribute to survivors, and a reminder of the cost of conflict. 📸 Whether you’re here to snap a photo, reflect in silence, or learn the stories behind the statue, the Broken Chair leaves a mark. Not on the ground — but on the heart. ✨ If you’re ever in Geneva, don’t miss it. Let it remind you: Standing strong, even when broken, is the greatest strength of all.
Travelogs — Google review
Striking and powerful sculpture symbolising opposition to landmines and violence. Easy to spot right across from the UN entrance, and makes for great photos with the Palais des Nations in the background.
Liam D — Google review
I’ve been to Geneva three times and, to my embarrassment, I never realized this “broken chair” was such a meaningful landmark. I always thought it was an old structure sitting in front of the UN 😅 But once I learned its story, I couldn’t look at it the same way again. The broken leg represents the victims of landmines and cluster bombs, a quiet reminder of the suffering caused by war. Yet the chair still stands tall, symbolizing resilience, courage, and hope. It’s simple but deeply moving. If you’re near the United Nations or Place des Nations, take a moment to stop here, it’s worth it!

Unique monument and art installation across from UN headquarters. Worth the visit. Free washrooms right next to it.

Victoria Hall is a stunning concert venue that was constructed in the 1890s and features elaborate neo-Baroque decor. It hosts exceptional music concerts, making it a must-visit for classical music enthusiasts. Renowned orchestras and performers such as the Geneva Chamber Music Orchestra and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande frequently grace its stage. Even if classical music isn't your preference, the architecture alone is worth marveling at.
Fabulous setting to see Candlelight’s show on Coldplay vs Imagine Dragons! The Victoria Hall is a fantastic historical venue, lit up with thousands of candles to view a solo piano concert was delightful. This was a epic show we really enjoyed it a lot. I would highly recommend this to everyone!
Paul V — Google review
Have been visiting regularly - beautiful historical venue, rich program (home of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande), good acoustics, kind and helpful staff…
Matěj D — Google review
Great Candlelight performance for the holidays! I enjoyed the atmosphere and the performance. Great way to start the holidays with Christmas music for all.
Martin J — Google review
Incredibly beautiful place to see a concert marred only by the rude Genevans stomping their feet for an encore. Plus no plastic water bottles to take in - despite no air circulation. Seats in the aisle block the way out and make it claustrophobic - but what an incredible building!
Richard S — Google review
Kind and highly professional Staff Great acoustic, well furnished foyer, with a bar where it is possible to have snacks and drinks, from Calvinus's beer to champagne! Great views, very good chairs! Magnifique theatre!
Federico F — Google review
A very charming and beautifully decorated hall used for concerts and musical performances. It was truly amazing to be there and listen to wonderful music. I really recommend visiting it. The venue has a 1,700 seating capacity and was built in 1891-1894. and was dedicated to Queen Victoria.
Collins — Google review
Stunning concert venue. Have visited several times during Fête de la Musique and been able to sit in the centre on the ground floor with full view of the stage. The acoustics work really well to make you feel close to the musicians on stage. It's very glitzy and gold inside. The seats fold down.

I Love Geneve ! Thanks to the acoustic qualities appreciated by music lovers, the hall is today dedicated to classical music and big names in the world of chanson, jazz and world music!

Italian restaurant
Wine bar
Nestled in the heart of Geneva, Les Trois Verres, also known as Tre Bicchieri, is a charming bistro that pays homage to Italy's rich culinary heritage. With its name inspired by the prestigious Gambero Rosso wine guide, this restaurant specializes in an impressive selection of fine Italian wines and authentic dishes from various regions across Italy.
I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the Italian restaurant Les Trois Verres in Plainpalais neighborhood, Geneva. Very good inspiring Italian food with friendly service are awaiting you there. Plus they open from 6pm which is practical if you are going to an evening show nearby. They also have beautiful artistic pics of food ingredients and wine displayed. Highly recommended. A bit on the expensive side for an Italian but fully deserved based on quality of ingredients and cooking.
Eric D — Google review
Very good experience, we loved everything about the restaurant! The food the atmosphere, the wine. Staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to go
Rachid Z — Google review
Your classic and elegant Italian restaurant. Delicious and original specialities, from meat to fish, and an interesting proposition of fresh pasta. Excellent selection of wines and desserts. Service is welcoming and friendly.
Barefoot C — Google review
After a wonderful evening at Victoria Hall, we stopped by this restaurant for a light meal and a glass of wine. It was an excellent choice—nice atmosphere, thoughtful design, and a well-curated menu. The service was attentive, and the wine selection was very good. High-quality parmesan and fresh bread as a welcome starter is not to forget!
Helvetica — Google review
The setting at les Trois Verres is very pleasant, and their wine list has a great selection, and a highlight of the experience. The service was attentive and welcoming, but I had some difficulty understanding the person who was serving us, which made communication a bit challenging. Maybe it was their first day and were nervous which would make sense. What surprised me most was how quickly the food arrived, barely 30 seconds after we ordered. While I understand that speedy service is appreciated for those on the go, in a gastronomic setting I would have expected dishes to be freshly cooked rather than pre-prepared under heat lamps. Unfortunately, this showed in the execution: the mashed potatoes were lukewarm, and the duck was on the tough side. It wasn’t a bad experience in any way, but for a restaurant that positions itself as gastronomic, I would have hoped for more attention to detail in the food. With such a nice setting, a great wine selection, and genuinely attentive staff, there’s a solid foundation here, it just needs more consistency on the culinary side to fully live up to its potential. I'll give it another try, this time for dinner and then revise my review there after if needed.

We had a wonderful experience tonight thanks to our waitress, Clementine. She was attentive throughout, really friendly, and shared great local knowledge that made our evening even more enjoyable. Excellent service!

Cave Valaisanne Chalet Suisse

Restaurant
The rustic dining room of Cave Valaisanne Chalet Suisse is adorned with red and white checked tablecloths, creating a traditional Swiss ambiance. This renowned restaurant is famous for its extensive menu, which includes various types of fondue, including the popular raclette made with raw milk. However, what many people may not know is that this beloved Geneva basin eatery also offers a diverse range of options such as steaks and salads.
Nice, tasty and hot meal. I had the Zurich-style veal strips which I highly recommend. Service was attentive without being overbearing, waiter was very friendly. I sat outside, as everyone else was, and it was a nice chilled out atmosphere, even after a large party turned up.
Kevin P — Google review
While on the pricey side, this is what is meant to be the authentic Swiss experience. They have the best burgers I've tasted in town, very fulfilling. Very nice interior, lots of space, central location.

Excellent place for fondue. Nice atmosphere and good service, and especially good if you want to book for a bigger group.
Michel R — Google review
First time in Switzerland and this place came by recommendation. I selected the traditional fondue with bread and potatoes. 1 malakoff, and creme brûlée. I was not disappointed, food was great and service was stellar. I’m glad I had dinner here my first night.
Scott F — Google review
A nice and little bigger place then most of the fondue places in town. Good mix of a menu with fondue and other options including steaks and salads etc. service is little slow but food is good. I like the restaurant ambiance. Fondue was very good with raclet. No need for advance reservation as place is big and can accommodate lot of people. Enjoy
Kayman — Google review
Food less than average. Truffle fondue has 0 truffle, asked them whether they indeed prepared a truffle fondue, they took it back, supposedly to be better, came back as bland as it was. Also weird smells around.
Amar R — Google review
We have pay 300 CHF for 3 people and when I asked for digestive they ask to pay 21 chf more. Not normal. In other restaurants if you spend 300 they offer small glass but here they do not offer nothing. Also service changed 2 times not the same person. Not cool at all. I will never be back here and I do not recommend.
A K — Google review
Overpriced and flavourless. Stale bread with the fondue and absolutely tasteless wine. The only thing that tasted decent were the fries, and even then they charged us 10 CHF. My partner ordered a hot chocolate and they gave her lukewarm milk and a satchet of chocolate powder. The tap water took so long to be served you'd have thought they harvested it fresh from the mountains. There were two young servers running around trying to manage the customers while an older server just stood around glaring at people, slamming menus down and wandering around like he's lost. The establishment was also dirty with no ventilation or airflow. Even the plate the served was chipped. Unpleasant experience, stay far away.

Restaurant
Nestled near the Pregny Gate, the main entrance to the United Nations Palais des Nations, Restaurant Vieux Bois is a part of Ecole Hoteliere de Geneve and serves as a training ground for Switzerland's budding chefs and waitstaff. The students manage all aspects of service, from cooking to serving. Despite being in the learning phase, they impress with their innovative and top-notch culinary creations.
Excellent restaurant with great service and wonderful created meals. They are presented very professiobal and are a pleasure just to look at. The vegetarian plates we were offered here were very impressive. We started with a starter made from different carrot slices that were presented in a circle and tasted delicious. The main course was some kind of a potato base complemented with fried tofu slices, which looked like potato toes but were not. Also, the dessert was a pleasure to look at and tasted as well as wonderful. With the coffee we were presented for fried pieces of dough, which I was told were apparently typical swiss, but I did not like them as they were rather dry.

this is a great place.we had lunch in the terrace and it was wonderful. one suggestion would be to have the desserts a bit smaller so that it is consistent with the rest of the size of the dishes served in the menu
Martín C — Google review
We had our Congress dinner at Vieux Bois. The entire preparation phase went perfectly well, with Lauriane and her team being most supportive in every respect. The apéro was served on the terrace, the staff allowed the participants to stay there for much longer as originally intended - it was such a lovely experience to chat and relax outdoors. The tables were beautifully set, with menu cards most participants took with them as a memory. The feedback from the 145 dinner attendees was only positive - the number speaking for itself... Thank you to the entire team!

Very nice place, atmosphere is very refined and nice, great views. It is a hospitality school so the service staff is learning. They were very polite but of course we can tell they were students. We were quite relaxed group. Food was amazing, service was slow (we understand), we planned 2 hour lunch and it took almost an extra hour. Suggestion (not a complain): in such international place, service staff should speak English, our waiter tried his best but he couldn't explain any dish in English (we helped, half of the group was only English speakers). All in all, it was a nice lunch but we would have appreciated a faster service.
Alba M — Google review
We were in the International District and decided to try this restaurant. My husband read about this culinary school restaurant the day before and since we were in the area, we decided to try it during lunch. They were very busy and glad that they had an open table for 2 since we didn’t have a reservation. The host and our server spoke English and we received excellent customer service. We had one of the best Swiss meals and service during our 2 weeks vacation in Switzerland. We wanted to eat dinner the Sunday before Valentine’s Day but they are not open on weekends.

What a great ambassador to the students chefs and waiters this restaurant is! The Geneva Hotel School houses this restaurant. We arrived with no reservations at 1:30 pm after a tour at the United Nations which is steps from the Vieux Bois. As many Swiss restaurants close at 1:30 or 2 pm, we were pleasantly surprised that they served lunch until 2:30 pm. Service was very kindly and efficient. One of my guests was from the UK and an English menu was available. The menu had few dishes but they were imaginative and of high quality. There were a few vegetarian dishes. Prices are reasonable for the quality. When we left they were setting up for what looked like a birthday or wedding reception, so you may be able to hire out this venue.

Nestled in the vibrant Charmilles district, the MEININGER Hotel Genève Centre Charmilles offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience. This contemporary hotel features streamlined dorms and private rooms, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking affordable luxury. With amenities like a bar, gym, and kitchen available for guests, you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while preparing your own meals or unwinding after a day of exploration.
Our three nights at MEININGER Hotel Genève Centre Charmilles were brilliant! This hotel is spotlessly clean, stylish, and super comfy. Its location is perfect—right near Geneva's city center with a mall across the street for anything you need. Plenty of good coffee and bar spots are nearby, and the hotel's lobby bar is a nice, relaxed option. Pro tip: Book parking early as it fills up fast! The free public transport pass was a total lifesaver. We zipped around Geneva on buses, trams, and even enjoyed fantastic boat rides on Lake Geneva, hopping off at four different spots for amazing views. Fantastic value and unbeatable access to Geneva. Definitely recommend!

This is a youth hostel, with a kitchen next to the front desk that has two stoves and everything you need for dining. Everyone is very polite, but since the guests come from all over, they mostly cook and eat on their own, not really communicating much. The storage room key is quite interesting — I really like it. The color scheme of the bathroom in the room is very modern; I’m noting it down so I can use the same design for my own home in the future, haha.
Stephon C — Google review
First time staying in a MEININGER and had a great experience. Staff were excellent, rooms and beds very comfortable, even include towels for a dorm room. Will definitely stay again! Only couple of slight annoying issues (at least for the shared dorms) were: -Lack of a sink in the toilet room (only there was a sink in shower room) -for the electricity to work a keycard needed to be inserted and if the person whose keycard being used left then the power/lights went off even if you were in the shower etc.! I understand intention is to prevent lights being left on needlessly but think a better solution is needed for dorm rooms..
Ryan — Google review
Very nice and modern hotel, we took a private room since we didn’t feel like sharing. The room was nice and clean, we had enough space aswell. The hotel also offers bagage lockers, which were very handy and not too expensive. It nice that you can use the kitchen, in case you wanna make a meal yourself. Further, there is also a work area, game room, laundry room and a bar. Had a pleasant stay and would definitely come back if I was in the area again.

We stayed for two nights at MEININGER Hotel Genève Centre Charmilles, and it was a great experience. The hotel was very clean, modern, and comfortable. It’s conveniently located close to Geneva’s city center, with a shopping mall just across the street—perfect for picking up any essentials. There are also a few good coffee shops and bars nearby, making it easy to relax or grab a quick bite. The hotel itself has a cozy lobby bar with a limited but nice selection of drinks. One important tip: be sure to book parking in advance, as the on-site parking is limited and can fill up quickly. A big plus of staying here was receiving the free public transportation pass, which allowed us to explore the city easily. This included buses, trams, and even boats on Lake Geneva. The boat ride was a fun bonus—you can hop on and off at four different locations around the lake and enjoy beautiful views of the city. Overall, a great value stay with excellent access to everything Geneva has to offer. Would definitely recommend!

What a great place. Easy booking, close to airport (we missed a connection and had to stay overnight) everything was quick, easy, the staff was amazing, polite, professional, cheerful. Rooms were comfortable and well designed. Serves breakfast and drinks, even has a little play area for kids. Highly recommend.
Melchior S — Google review
We booked a whole room, which was well organized and sufficient. At the time of our stay, the city provided free transit passes for the length of our stay. We used this extensively, including to easily reach the hotel. The staff were very kind and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Erin M — Google review
I just want to confirm my initial assessment: a very youthful atmosphere, extremely friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms, dining and reception areas, and a very convenient location regarding transfer to and from the airport and the old town due to easy access to buses. I highly recommend it!
