Ragusa in 5 days

If you only have 5 days to spend in Ragusa, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Ragusa is one of southeastern Sicily’s great Baroque hill towns, with a dramatic setting split between the old quarter of Ragusa Ibla and the upper, more modern Ragusa Superiore. Its historic center, part of the UNESCO-listed Val di Noto, is packed with ornate churches, palaces, and alleyways that open onto sweeping views of the surrounding valleys. Visitors come for its atmospheric streets, nearby filming locations from the “Inspector Montalbano” TV series, and a strong culinary tradition that includes local cheeses, chocolate from nearby Modica, and refined Sicilian cuisine. The city also makes a convenient base for exploring other late-Baroque towns and the beaches along the Ragusa coast.
With favorites like Chiesa delle Santissime Anime del Purgatorio, La Piazzetta Ristorante, and Palazzo Arezzo di Trifiletti, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Risìu and Biancomangiare so you can get the best taste of Ragusa while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

The well-maintained pathways lead visitors through stunning flower beds, intricate fountains, and charming statues that create a serene atmosphere. Built in 1858 by volunteers, the garden sits atop a rock spur at an altitude of 385 meters, providing magnificent views over the valley below.
A very calm and beautiful spot for a short walk with enough shadow to hide from the sun. We really enjoyed the afternoon here with nice food from around the corner.

Beautiful and well maintained garden featuring a small playground for children. It makes a good starting point for your exploration of the historical part of Ragusa, especially if you park your car at the adjacent paid parking area. Definitely worth the visit.
Andrej M — Google review
Beautiful park with impressive architecture and plenty of seating in the sun as well as in the shadows. Lots of cats, dogs are allowed and the cats are fine with it, no drama.

A lovely garden with amazing views of the valley below . You will find washrooms on the site . A good array of flowers but it depends on the time of year you visit . The site is well maintained and a great place for kids to play in the playground. Take a break and relax .

Nice garden with great views on the valley. It's clean and it has several benches to sit down and enjoy the weather and the breeze. Nice place to relax for a bit and charge the battery in Ragusa Ibla. We are happy we visited.

Nicest, cleanest, only well-maintained Park I have seen in Sicily in the past 10 days!

Well manicured, plenty of places to sit, a beautiful fountain. A great place to take a break from the heat when walking around Ragusa Ibla.

To go place when visiting Ragusa. You can park on nearby parking places. Be sure to pay the parking as there is lady comming regularly checking license numbers for valid ticket. You can see the whole park and go by walk to old city which is just next to it. Lot of cafeteria and restaurant and shops. This is the nicest park of Ragusa.

Ragusa Ibla is a picturesque old city in Sicily, known for its stunning baroque architecture and historical charm. Separated from modern Ragusa Superiore by a deep chasm caused by an earthquake, it boasts the impressive Basilica of San Giorgio. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of Inspector Montalbano with a visit to Caffetteria Donnafugata and dine at the renowned two-Michelin-starred Duomo restaurant.
Beautiful Baroque city packed with historic places to visit, great restaurants and friendly people. Stunning both in daytime and at night.

Very picturesque baroque Town built on top of an into the sides of a hill, it features quaint narrow streets, a lovely public garden uniquely clean and manicured for Sicily, and numerous baroque churches
Jan S — Google review
One of the most beautiful little cities that I’ve come across. Lovely people and beautiful views everywhere you look. Some amazing restaurants and coffee shops to sit and soak in the beauty Ragusa has to offer.
Aditya S — Google review
Underwhelming. Beautiful from a distance and interesting little winding streets, but once your are in, really, it’s one Main Street full of tourist shops full of magnets, postcards, pistachio paste and pinecones, and restaurants. Overpriced restaurants. It’s worth a couple of hours.. we stayed 3 nights and used the time to visit Modica and scicli as well. If we did it again, we’d stay in Modica. Or Scicli. Both are smaller… but somehow more charming.
J D — Google review
Just the loveliest town. Friendly people and a really beautiful place, highly recommend a visit

Now that is must see. Old, historical, with plenty of restaurants. We visit Ragusa in second week of July. There was few outdoor piano concerts witch was fantastic add to our tour around town. there is few parkings in walking distance from town centre.

Intricate The Antico Portale di San Giorgio in Ragusa offers a striking glimpse into medieval history. This ornate 13th-century gothic doorway, all that remains of the original church, stands beautifully preserved in the sun. A very nice tour through the ancient barroc old town of Ragusa. For only € 5.- one can enjoy an outstanding 35‘ sight seeing tour. It is definitely worth it. There many tours every day.
Chris — Google review
So, first of all, it doesn’t seem interesting. Because you already saw all of the places while getting to the “train”. It’s quite a poor experience - additional circuit around Duomo and little more. And if the train is full you wouldn’t know beforehand and would seat uncomfortably with 2 other passengers on a bench. Maybe right under the sun because there is no shadow for the half of bench. So maybe I’d recommend it for disabled people or family with small kids. But not for most adults.
Hanna S — Google review
Ragusa Ibla is such peaceful and beautiful late baroque town. Totally worth to visit and spend time walking though each corner of it.
Ada Z — Google review
This is the only one of the Barocco trains that displayed a passive aggressive and rude attitude towards its clients. First they tried to fit all 4 of us (adults) into a single row, if you see them you’d understand it’s not possible. When prompted to solve the problem, they were initially reluctant and then wanted to put one person on another random row.
Alexandru D — Google review

Adrian Z — Google review
It's a laugh and saves some walking. At 5 Euros what's not to like?
Carolyn F — Google review
This is a fun and easy way of exploring the town in the heat. You seat on the train and let it take you around the historical places and views around, while a recorded voice explains in Italian and English what you are seeing. If you keep the tickets, you can get a discount on the other trains in the other towns nearby.

Gelati Divini is a renowned gelateria located in Piazza Duomo, 20, Ragusa, Italy. It offers a wide variety of flavors suitable for both kids and adults. While classic flavors cater to kids' preferences, adults can indulge in unique options like olive oil and violet. The gelateria has been an established presence for many years and prides itself on crafting high-quality gelato with creative twists.
There’s a wide variety of flavors, some of which are quite unusual. We tried the red wine flavor and ricotta, and it was an outstanding and surprising experience, especially the second one.
Krzysztof W — Google review
There’s a large assortment of flavours including wine flavoured gelato. Small patio in the front of the store. Staff were kind and helpful.

Nice place to sit in the square but there are way better granita in Sicily. I understand the nice reviewers because of its location. In the beginning they did not treat us very kindly but later when we asked to fill the water it was better. Still we can’t give it a better review because of the quality of the stuff. Perhaps for a glass of wine it would have been better but I would not go back for what we had
Jessica S — Google review
As the name suggests, the ice-cream here is indeed divine, with creamy texture and rich and balanced flavour, while not overly sweet. They also offer some unique flavors, which we didn't found anywhere else, like a delicious wine gelato. We also had coffe, which was great as well. In addition, the gelateria has a cellar featuring a large wine selection.

Mind-blowing ice cream in Ragusa. Best I've had since I arrived in Sicily. I got 2x small cup with Liquorice & Olive Oil and Red Wine & Viola. Can't wait to come again soon! 🍧☀️🌵

Amazing location, great wines and an absolute gem of an Amaro: the capers Amaro (a very strong bitter). The owner is pleasant and the service is super friendly! Highly suggest also for an ice cream.
Sam P — Google review
This place absolutely enchanted me with its jasmine ice cream! 🤩 There's nothing like it! I've never seen jasmine ice cream anywhere else in Italy. If anyone has, please let me know! 😋 It's like an Yves Rocher perfume, like the scent of jasmine melting on your palate in a summery setting. 😍🤪 We also tried it with onions, beets, and olive oil. It was so interesting! Trying these is something you should do at least once in your life.
H. B — Google review
This is the best gelato in Sicily and possibly all of Italy. There chocolate orange was super smooth, packed with flavour and not overly sweet, it’s the best chocolate orange I have had anywhere in the world. The gelato here is so good I went back and kept getting 3 scoop tubs until I had tried out their full range. Malaga was also like no other Malaga gelato Iv had and the raising in it were magical, and I’m not a Malaga or raising fan. Everything from this place is different to anything you have tasted before with lots of very unique combinations pumpkin with a crumble. If your in Sicily and a gelato / ice cream lover this is somewhere you HAVE to visit even if it’s just for the gelato. They staff are super nice and friendly also speaking English . The establishment has toilets and is a cosy place with out door and indoor seating

When in the area, make sure to include Belvedere di San Benedetto in your itinerary for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. This picturesque spot offers a stunning bird's eye perspective of Modica, making it an ideal location for capturing memorable photographs. While there may be some stairs to climb, the effort is undoubtedly worth it once you witness the amazing vistas that await you.
Beautiful view of the entire historic center of Modica, very limited parking (only a few cars can fit here, stop here with hazard lights on). But don't worry, most people stay here for a few minutes, take a few photos and move on. One of the excursion trains, which take you to the idler parts of the city, also stops there.

Risìu is a restaurant that specializes in Sicilian street food and deli items, such as cheeses. The menu has a good selection of local cheeses, along with adequate wine list. The staff are attentive and kind.
Lovely little place offering a tasting experience of excellent local produce from their own made cheeses to other products from local independent producers. Intimate setting. Friendly service by lovely owners who are clearly passionate about what they do.
Claudia L — Google review
We couldn't wait to visit Risiu because of the great reviews and their cheese specialties. We came first after opening. We were first and only customers, but it took a while before the young lady stopped ignoring us and served us. Even when she came, she looked so strict I was afraid to order, her behaviour was like someone forcing her to do the job. Otherwise, food was amazing. Nicely arranged, fresh and delicious. I am taking one star off just because of the scarry service, I felt like in the school in old times where you have to sit straight and be quiet. Such a shame because the food is really good but I am not sure if I would come back because of the service.
Silvia C — Google review
We were recommended this restaurant by the hosts at our accommodation in Ragusa. All we knew going in was that the ingredients were sourced from local producers. We decided to give it a try — and what an unforgettable experience it turned out to be. We ordered the largest tasting platter on the menu. When we asked for two of them, the staff kindly suggested that one would be more than enough. To our surprise (and delight), they were absolutely right. The portion was generous, perfectly satisfying for two people. But what truly left us speechless were the flavors — divine from the very first bite to the last. Every single element on the platter was bursting with authenticity and depth. The wine recommended to pair with it was heavenly — a perfect match that elevated the entire meal. The service was just as memorable. The staff made us feel genuinely at home, as if we were being taken care of by our own family. It was one of those rare moments where hospitality meets heart. This was a standout culinary experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. We’ll definitely return — even if it means traveling thousands of kilometers to do so. Thank you for an unforgettable evening and your exceptional hospitality.
Mónika V — Google review
We had such a lovely evening here. The food, the drinks and the service were all tip top! Run by a really genuine couple, who make artisanal burrata (which you must try). An unassuming place, but it’s clear they understand flavour and that they care about the food and making your experience special. Highly recommend - particularly the warm ricotta - who knew!
Sarah S — Google review
All products on the ragusana tagliere menu are homemade by the owners, who also serve the guests. You can see pictures on the wall of the lady's mother, grandparents and son producing ricotta cheese. I've had the best ricotta here in my life and their strawbe jam is also divine. It's also a super affordable restaurant.
Dora H — Google review
Lovely cafe for a lunch. We ordered a sandwich with mozzarella, pesto and mortadella and one with provola and parma ham. The ingredients were very fresh and everything tasted home made. The staff were lovely and attentive, checking in once we had received our food that everything was ok. I would also recommend trying their juices - they have a comprehensive speciality juice menu and we went for the blood orange and green mandarin juices.
Grace P — Google review
Their ricotta and cannoli is PERFECT. I truly am at a loss for words, and that is not easy to accomplish. Fresh, balanced flavors and sweetness and absolutely delicious. Their cannoli is a MUST TRY if you are in the area. Bravo!!
Carly M — Google review
Risiu Restaurant truly impressed me with its warm and welcoming staff who made the dining experience enjoyable. The affordable prices didn't compromise on the deliciousness of their dishes, especially the Scaccia Ragusana which was a highlight. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially during the bustling summer season, as the place tends to get quite busy. The restaurant's excellent wine selection perfectly complemented the flavorful meals, and their dietary offerings like ricotta catered well to various preferences. Notably, Risiu Restaurant also excels in its dessert offerings. The cannolo and ricottamisu are simply delightful, providing a sweet and satisfying conclusion to the meal. The restaurant's ability to deliver on both savory and sweet fronts further enhances its appeal, making it a must-visit for those seeking a well-rounded dining experience.

Nestled in the picturesque Ragusa Ibla, Biancomangiare is a delightful culinary gem that captures the essence of Sicilian cuisine. This charming eatery boasts an inviting outdoor patio where guests can savor a variety of delectable dishes while soaking in views of the stunning Cathedral of San Giorgio. The menu features an array of local favorites, including gourmet sandwiches and daily pasta specials like paccheri con ragu e speck, all at wallet-friendly prices.
Super tasty, quality food at affordable prices. The location can’t be beat, you get to eat while gawking at the majestic Cathedral of San Giorgio! For such a prime location, the service is friendly and you get a lot of bang for your buck. There’s a delicious sampler board to share, they say it’s for two but you could easily stretch it to 3 or 4 people if you add a few arancini to the mix. And you definitely should because the pistachio arancini is the best I had in Sicily!

Wonderful food at great prices. Simple, not the most elegant but yet tasty decor and food. Couldn’t have made a better choice for lunch! I would eat here again anytime, and I’m sure it’s a choice of locals. Wonderful selection of granite, excellent cafe, and the pasta was absolutely perfect. They have a daily menu along with their regular menu which includes gourmet sandwiches. I chose a pasta of the day for 10 euro, paccheri con ragù e speck. I was too hungry to take photos of the food. But trust me; it was delicious!

During the off-peak period in February, when the restaurant was sparsely occupied, the service at La Piazzetta Ristorante was prompt and exceptionally friendly. The cuisine, particularly the daily special suggested by the proprietor, was scrumptious. The utilization of their top-notch olive oil brand enhanced the aroma of both vegetables and bread. However, procuring this particular brand proved challenging due to numerous other olive oil options available in Sicily's supermarkets.
That was delicious!! We had the Ricotta ravioli with ibleo pig sauce and the Pasta with Bronte pistachio and prawns. We shared a bottle of Drus Nero D’Avola , Siracusa DOC. Every bite was exceptional, every sip delightful. We arrived at 7 without a reservation (mid September). By 8 o’clock everything was picking up quickly. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to describe every dish. They were fun. We sat outside, next to the water fountain. Awesome atmosphere. If we are ever back in Ragusa, we will definitely revisit this restaurant.

La Piazzetta in Ragusa is a true gem in the heart of Sicily. Nestled near the stunning Piazza Duomo, this restaurant offers an authentic Italian dining experience with a perfect blend of tradition and creativity. The dishes are beautifully crafted, using fresh, local ingredients that highlight the rich flavors of Sicilian cuisine. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with attentive service, makes every visit special. Whether you're indulging in their homemade pasta or savoring a delicious dessert, La Piazzetta is a must-visit for food lovers.

Originally we only wanted to eat at La Piazzetta for one evening, but were unable to resist to eat there for a second evening. The waiters are very nice, helpful and yet very much in the background. The owner comes by briefly and welcomes you. The food comes at perfect intervals, without stress and tastes simply fabulous. These are authentic dishes which, according to the owner, are locally sourced and handmade wherever possible. A very clear recommendation!

A fantastic place with some of the best traditional Sicilian food I’ve had. The owner was very gracious, helpful, and entertaining. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the outdoor dining area in the piazza with a rustic fountain.

Four of us went at lunch, the service was good the owner was friendly and welcoming. The fried calamari was crisp and fresh, the pork was good . The portions were rather small considering the prices charged .

One of the best meals I have had. Highly recommend. Excellent food, impeccable service and amazing ambiance. We had the grilled tuna, orange and fennel salad and rigatoni with fennel and sausage ragu followed by cannoli.

I am giving this five stars even though the service is very slow and quite honestly not very good. The food, by far, more than makes up for the slow service and if you have a couple hours to spend in this quaint little village I strongly recommend you have the ravioli here. It may very well be the very best thing that you've ever eaten in your entire life. Also, be aware that they ran out of tiramisu for us to eat for dessert at 2:30 in the afternoon. I have to believe it is because the dish is so popular, every single plate I saw looked amazing.

Fine dining restaurant
Ristorante Duomo is a renowned dining establishment in Ragusa, Italy, offering refined regional meat and seafood dishes paired with Sicilian wines. The restaurant is owned by Ciccio Sultano, considered one of Sicily's greatest chefs. Guests can indulge in tasting menus featuring fabulous local ingredients during lunch or dinner. Additionally, the chef's latest venture, Banchi, serves as a bakery, deli, and cafe providing exceptional breakfast options and relaxed lunches.
A highlight of our 2-week trip to Sicily, service was impeccable and lots of nice small surprises from the chef. I liked the uni truffle pasta in a cream sauce very much, and my partner had a fish pasta that I liked even more (lighter). The waiter was happy to provide recs of his favorite dishes as the English menu isn’t very descriptive. I felt the proteins were on the heavier (fattier) side for my personal taste, and wonder if that’s the style of food in the region. Still, everything was extremely delicious, I was very happy with the complexity and harmony of the flavors. I got the 2-course for dinner and for me that was enough as I’m not able to eat a ton of food. 8-courses was priced 200 euro. I’d like to go back for lunch one day - 75 euro for 3 courses.

There is a reason why this restaurant has 2 Michelin stars and it isn't just for its food (which is spectacular). From the moment we walked in till the moment we left both my partner and myself felt like royalty. The service was impeccable and the attention to detail was second to none. There is no other word that one can use to describe the whole experience except for the word Immaculate. I never cease to be amazed when I eat here and I can't wait to go again in just a few weeks time. Chapeau

I had 3 course lunch. Everything was really good, what I expect from 2 star restaurant. Full of flavour, surprising, different textures. Pasta dish and small portions were the best. I'd only cook lamb a bit less.

A truly unforgettable culinary experience. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and every dish was packed with flavor. We opted for the 8-course tasting menu and were blown away by the creativity and balance of each plate. A perfect mix of finesse and generosity. Can’t recommend it enough!

Italian fine dining in the heart of Ragusa. You'll have an option to choose from few different tasting menus that take you through different re-invented italian dishes that showcase local fresh produce. You can opt for a wine pairing or select your favourite form a relatively thick wine list.
Ott K — Google review
This was such a lucky find—just a very inconspicuous door, marked only by a Michelin 2025 sign and a menu sign next to it. I'm not usually someone who’s into gourmet dining, and yet I was completely blown away. I may have to seriously reconsider how I approach these things. We went in for the lunch menu and were served an appetizer, breadsticks, a selection of bread with olive oil, a three-course meal, dessert, and… a secondary dessert? I'm not sure what that's officially called. Every single item—despite often not being something I’d normally choose (like an olive appetizer with pistachio and other ingredients, lamb, or seafood pasta)—was so good I was honestly left a little bewildered how delicious it can be. The final surprise came with the coffee at the end (the official last course). I can honestly say this was the first time I truly enjoyed coffee, I drink it a bit out of necessity, but this was really first time I actually enjoyed it, and I’m now worried it’ll be hard to go back to Nespresso or office coffee. My wife had the chef-recommended sparkling wine as an aperitif and concluded she’d never had better. The service was excellent—every member of the staff was helpful, explained each dish and course in detail, and answered our questions with care.

Duomo di San Giorgio is a renowned 18th-century cathedral featuring a neoclassical dome and a baroque facade. Surrounding the cathedral are significant civic and military buildings, including the ruins of the 13th-century Castle of the Counts of Modica and the 17th-century Palazzo Castro-Polara-Grimaldi. In Modica Alta, visitors can explore the Church of St.
A beautiful church. The architecture is amazing. If it’s open, pay the 2€ to go up to the bell tower. Really a nice place.

The Duomo di San Giorgio in Modica is absolutely stunning! It’s a beautiful example of Sicilian Baroque style and sits high up on a massive staircase with 250 steps, giving you amazing views of the city. The church itself has this grand, three-tiered façade and a really intricate interior, full of details that show off Modica’s rich history and artistic flair. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is pretty cool. If you’re fit enough to tackle the steep stairs, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of Modica’s terracotta rooftops. Definitely a must-see if you’re ever in the area!

The Cathedral of Saint George stands as a majestic testament to Sicilian Baroque architecture, captivating visitors with its ornate facades, elaborate sculptures, and soaring domes. Dating back to the 14th century, the cathedral has undergone various renovations and expansions, each adding to its grandeur and historical significance. Stepping inside the play of light on marble surfaces and the intricate detailing of the interior create an atmosphere of reverence and wonder. One of the highlights of a visit to Modica Cathedral is ascending its bell tower, offering panoramic views of the cityscape below. It is a testament to the enduring legacy of Sicilian craftsmanship and a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the rich cultural tapestry of this region.

Nestled in the alleys near the Church of San Pietro in Modica, Sicily, lies the Chiesa Rupestre di San Nicolò Inferiore. This 12th-century church, discovered only in 1987, is carved into rock and adorned with Byzantine wall paintings. Despite its small size, it offers a unique and intimate glimpse into the past.
San Nicolò Inferiore is said to be the oldest surviving church in Modica. Hidden behind a small entrance in the city center, you'll find a cave church carved into the rock around the 11th–12th centuries. It's a very small church, but inside you can still see Byzantine-style frescoes on the walls.
Kanna T — Google review
Interesting story behind the finding of this small chapel. It only takes a few minutes to view, and yes it costs a few euros for entry, but it is worth it to help preserve this piece of history.
Adam S — Google review
Nice to see the small church. However the price is 2.5euro per person and 1.5 if you are in a group of 10. We were with 8 and were not allowed to buy 10 tickets and give the remaining 2 to the following tourists. (8->20€ 10->15€).

Peter W — Google review
Definitely visit whilst in Modica. I stumbled across this today by chance and was curious and was not disappointed - very small but unique and intimate glimpse into the past, and a fascinating story of how it was buried and forgotten for so long. Sure, it’s not going to slap you in the face with the ornate grandeur of the duomi in Modica, but let’s face if, you can see a stunning Baroque church in so many European places - this is unique. Take a moment, use your imagination (like you often have to do with history, preservation is a precarious thing) and enjoy what is different about and so old about this and it will amaze you, this dates back to the Greek’s in Sicily pre Christ. Ernesto on the front desk was amazing and obviously passionate about what he does. I also read some reviews about the cost, I think 2.50 euro is a bargain (even with the dreadful Australian exchange rate 😂) to see this little unique slice of history and happy for my small entrance fee to go to the preservation. The cost of an arancini to help preserve something special, I’m here for that 🙌
Shari A — Google review
What you see is what you get here. There is only one room, cave-like, with one painting. It is interesting to see something of the kind from the 12th century, but the 2.5 euro ticket does not seem worth it. I understand they need money to keep it up, but considering the size, it should have been free (with voluntary donation).

Trattoria Al Casareccio is a charming family-run restaurant that offers great regional cuisine and excellent service. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing recommendations for the area. The menu features meticulously prepared traditional Italian dishes, with special mentions for the Parmigiana and Tagliatelle di Gamberi. We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Il Barocco in the heart of Ragusa, Sicily, and it was a truly memorable experience from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warmth and attentive hospitality. Check-in was seamless, and throughout our stay, the team consistently went above and beyond—offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. The hotel itself is immaculate. Our room was quiet, beautifully maintained, and exceptionally comfortable. Every corner of the property is cared for with attention to detail, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. One of the standout highlights was the food. Each morning greeted us with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and croissants. Breakfast was generous and full of delicious Sicilian flavors, and every dish we tried was fresh, authentic, and artfully prepared. The ravioli, in particular, was unforgettable—some of the best we've ever had. The passion for local cuisine truly shines through. The location couldn’t be better—nestled in the stunning Baroque beauty of Ragusa Ibla, yet calm and restful. It was the ideal base for discovering this enchanting town. Our stay at Hotel Il Barocco made our trip incredibly special. We felt genuinely cared for, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Ragusa.

Lovely lovely terrace and setting. Food was below average for Italy, I would say. Nothing overly special. The front of house staff was kind and nice, however, our food took a whooping 45min to arrive to the table. The dishes we ordered were salad based and the restaurant was not busy at all which did not justify the tardiness at all.

We had a wonderful dinner last night, recommended by Giorgio from Hybla Life. Two of us had the meat menu and two had fish pasta, the busiata with sarde and the other, with fish bisque. Al dente and absolutely divine. Alessio was a great guide to the various dishes and accompanying wine, too, as my husband had the wine pairing. We were impressed with how the chef elevated simple, well-known dishes such as melanzane Parmigiana into something to really savour. Very very impressed with everything. After having decided to sit outside, our teenagers felt a bit chilly but there was absolutely no problem. You can also buy the delici ous olive oil they serve. Strong recommendation for good food at decent prices. P.s. just a side note to all you Montalbano fans out there; although newly renovated, so the look is different, this was the site of Montalbano's restaurant scenes

Great food (especially the Busiate and the Gamberi Rossi crudi). The guy (and later a lady) that served us was incredibly attentive to the situation and detail. The atmosphere is pleasant for a romantic dinner. It’s slightly more pricy than the average Ibla experience. But I think that the service and quality of the dishes defend this gap in price. Recommend to end dinner with a sweet wine.

Wandered past and thought menu was nicely limited and looked exceptionally interesting. What a brilliant call. The food provided one of our best meals ever. The wine list provided a cracking sparkling rosé from Medina, recommended by the very helpful staff. It was as good as any champagne and Sicilian! Our dishes were made with excellent ingredients and were truly delicious. Sitting outside on the main street in such an atmospheric setting is hard to beat. 10/10.

We had the six courses tasting experience. Excellent quality. Having raised the bar a lot with the first five courses desert felt a bit ordinary but all in all this was the best restaurant we tried in our trip in Sicily by far. Totally recommend it.

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner here! As a Belgian who’s had my fair share of pork cheeks over the years, I can honestly say these were the best I’ve ever tasted – melt-in-your-mouth tender with a rich, perfectly balanced sauce. That says a lot coming from someone used to the high standards we have back home. The lasagna was equally impressive, with refined flavors that clearly show a thoughtful and skilled hand in the kitchen. Every bite was layered with depth and finesse. The desserts were the perfect ending to an already amazing meal – both the tiramisu and the cannolo were absolutely top-notch. Authentic, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming – a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and the staff clearly knew their stuff. The wine pairings were spot on, each glass complementing our dishes beautifully. All in all, a top-notch experience from start to finish. Highly recommended

Accursio Radici is a traditional osteria located near the Chiesa di San Pietro, offering a blend of eastern and western Sicilian cuisines. The restaurant is led by chef Accursio Craparo from the nearby Michelin-starred Accursio restaurant. With simple yet elegant dining rooms, it provides an opportunity to savor authentic Sicilian dishes at a reasonable price.
Very good restaurant. The dishes are based on ingredients from the Sicilian tradition, they resemble family-style cooking but more elevated and refined. The polpette di triglia (sadly not pictured as they were gone way too soon) were some of the nicest food I've had and the caponata was excellent. The location is nice, just like the menu it has a bit of a homey feel, an elegant and refined home. The service was good, in particular the lady wearing glasses was exceptionally kind and helpful.

We loved the place, atmosphere, the food, and the view. The dessert was amazing, and being able to get a gluten-free option really made a difference. The chef even made us a gluten-free Pasta Frittata - that’s actually why we came in the first place. Thank you

We didn’t find this restaurant online but discovered it the day before while passing by. The atmosphere was truly wonderful and very romantic, we sat outdoors in the middle of the stairs, right next to the Church. The presentation and flavors of the dishes were good, with nice attention to detail. The food was fine, meeting a basic standard, though I felt the prices were a bit high, probably because of the prime location. The service was okay, only lacked a bit of warmth.

I enjoyed the experience even though some of the dishes, I found, to be a tad on the blander side. The staff was so nice and service great. I think my palate is just used to a bit more umph. Make sure to make a reservation, it gets packed almost as soon as it opens.

This was one of the most disappointing meals we’ve had in a long time. We had made a reservation via Michelin and they offered us the absolutely worst table in the place, stuck in a corner in an airless entryway. After I complained, they somehow managed to find us a good table outside, with lovely views of the city. The staff was running around, working hard, but with no direction. They took forever to take our order, did not bring us the wine until we had practically finished our first course, etc. But the biggest disappointment was the food itself. I ordered gazpacho with croquettes and there was hardly any soup, just 4 big cheesy breadballs. For thee main course, they were out of the fish rolls and substituted a tiny slice of fried fish — only the small tail portion. It was breaded and had bones and amounted to about 4 bites once deboned. My husband’s pasta with shrimp and pistachios was swimming in a red sauce. Very unappealing. I don’t know how this place got a Michelin mention. I’ve had better food in far simpler places.

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The prosecco was crisp and refreshing — the perfect start to an evening where everything felt just right. The atmosphere struck a flawless balance between elegance and warmth, perfectly suited to the setting. The location itself is stunning, and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive or welcoming. As for the food — the tuna was beautifully seared and full of flavour, while the rabbit was tender, rich, and cooked to absolute perfection. A truly memorable meal in every sense.

Ridiculously good lunch. Funky furniture and simple but stylish decor. Food is great, love the fish dishes but the porccetta is amazing. (Just lose the 1980s glass dinner plates)

We came quite late, shortly before the kitchen closed, so maybe that played a role, but overall the experience wasn’t great. The pasta fritta tasted of old oil, was slightly burnt and didn’t sit well in the stomach. The Cotoletta di Melanzana con Tenerumi had an odd consistency – the eggplant was watery, the tenerumi tough, and both lacked almost any flavor. Wine by the glass was surprisingly expensive (10–15€). That said, the restaurant itself looks beautiful, with a lovely interior and outdoor area.

Restaurant
"I Banchi" is an intimate and elegant restaurant located in the monumental spaces of the eighteenth-century Palazzo Di Quattro. It was created by Ciccio Sultano as a contemporary reinterpretation of a traditional trattoria, offering carefully sourced dishes and wines with an informal and convivial atmosphere. The restaurant's kitchen, led by Marco Corallo, focuses on crafting simple cuisine using high-quality raw ingredients. One of the standout dishes is the Free-range Chicken.

Well, that was underwhelming! Went here with admittedly somewhat of an expectation. It was a total bust. Ravioli was fine, but it said meatballs on the menu and came with random pieces of meat. The kids version of the ravioli without meat was still the same price. Pretty steep if you ask me. The seafood pasta my wife had for >>20€ didn’t have much seafood to speak of. Was the Chef on holiday and let the intern cook??? I will not be going back… ever…

Had lunch at this restaurant which staff provides excellent service. This restaurant is located in the back streets away from the tourist crowds. It is worth the walk. The restaurant is decorated with large modern paintings and other nice decorations. We have ordered their salads, which were nice fresh and of a sizeable portion.

We had a beautiful evening here! The fixed price is a great deal and it was great to have a completely vegetarian option. We started with a Sicilian champagne which was recommended by our server and was delicious. All the food and wines were great and service was well paced and attentive.

For a restaurant from “renowned chef” Cicco Sultano, I was massively disappointed. The bread served to us was obviously cut hours before and had started to go dry. Vitello tonnato - the veal was tough, really tough, the tuna sauce tasted nothing like tuna, and a Very synthetic flavour. (Didn’t eat it. Still got charged) Pasta con le sarde was sweet and less than 100g of pasta, maybe the chef used sugar instead of salt 2 x potions of pasta Norma, there was a strange purée that was effectively like having a mouthful of glue. We ordered a second bottle of water that never arrived. A completely underwhelming experience, that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. It’s a restaurant placed to take advantage of unsuspecting tourists. In my opinion. Staff are rude, unwelcoming, and honestly couldn’t care less. 3 pastas 1 water 1 veal tonnato. Was just under €80. Disgraceful.

We had a delicious dinner at I Banchi. It is more expensive than the average restaurant however it’s completely worth it if you want to “treat” yourself one night. That being said the prices are not at all exaggerated for the quality. Everything was very tasty and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The tuna also melted in your mouth. Also very nice staff. Highly recommend!

Lovely Bistrot owned by Ciccio Sultano - Micheline starred chef from the fine dining Restaurant “Il Duomo” still inside Ragusa. Basically you get an amazing meal, without having to spend 100-150€.

Great location in old stable! Very good and genuine food. You can decide either for fix price menu (the cheapest is at lunch, around 30€ - drinks aside), or from the multiple choice of courses. They also have different products you can by directly from the restaurant (cheese, breads, pastries, etc..) it's a must either if you are looking for a romantic place, or just to buy local products. Not to forget that it has been opened in collaboration with a 2 stars Michelin Chef, Mr. Sultano.

Ragusa Cathedral is a large, lavish Roman Catholic cathedral built in the 1700s. It features a small museum of religious art and relics, as well as lovely baroque architecture. The cathedral is one of the best places to visit in Ragusa, and is great for admiring its beauty in the evening.
I would say it is the most beautiful church in town, the interior design is full of interesting details. Exterior part also nice to enjoy as there has been a lot of work placed in this building. Now the best part and something that you can't miss from the city is the view from the top of the bell tower, you get a really nice view and it give you a feel of how the city looks like and a view of how the old part of town will feel.
Stefan T — Google review
The cathedral itself is beautiful, but the view from the bell tower is breathtaking. You have a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city of Ragusa and the surrounding landscape. The central portal is enormous and elegant, richly decorated with carvings and statues. Monumental columns and decorated side portals further embellish the façade.Very beautiful regular geometry of the temple inside. Excellent, well trimmed trees at the entrance. The possibility of having an audio guide or guide should be added to avoid reading very long papyrus every now and then.Wide stairs lead to the entrance. The interiors are full of details that keep you looking up for the entire duration of your visit.
Jitendra P — Google review
A beautiful church with a very nice square outside. Inside the church there is a ticket with a cost of 3 euros to climb the bell tower. Inside the church you will not find anything special because it is just a normal church. Outside on the right as you will see in the photo I uploaded it has a very beautiful fountain. It is worth seeing the attraction during your walk in the city.

Relais Antica Badia - San Maurizio 1619 is a luxurious hotel housed in an 18th-century palace located in the heart of Ragusa. The building boasts magnificent Baroque architecture, including frescoed ceilings and ornate furnishings. With only 12 elegant rooms, the hotel offers a sense of exclusivity and charm. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the nearby cathedral from the rooftop terrace.
This was by far superior hotel. Everything was done to perfection. The staff was excellent. They couldn’t do enough to make you stay anything you ask them to try to help you with they were very accommodating I even have freshly baked cookies at these reception area if you want a little something sweet on your way back to your room or out of your room a nice touch The rooms were large air conditioners, work well bed covering the towels, the toiletries everything were upscale. It’s a beautiful old villa, which makes it exciting to stay in. The breakfast was very good in a beautiful room products from the area plus some other interesting items. If you wanted to order more they had on a menu which you could pay extra for I understand there is parking. They have a spa unfortunately I didn’t have the time to take advantage of it the location is OK. It’s not in the old town, but you can walk through the town Newer town. A lot of stores are closed because they opened up a big mall outside of the community. We found some really nice restaurants within walking distance from the hotel, we met people that went down to the old town by taxi and ate at the Michelin star restaurant which they have 2 or 3. would highly recommend this hotel

I love Ragusa, it’s a very special place. Toured all over Sicily and it was my favourite place, for me, with its rich history, fascinating past and rustic architecture located on a rock 🪨 making it a fascinating place to explore. The hotel and staff were perfect. Would be my place to revisit on Sicily 100%. It’s hilly so be prepared to walk, or just use taxis and buses. It’s a great place !!

We stayed at this hotel after we were involved in a car accident during our holiday to Italy. From the moment arrived, we felt welcome and the staff did everything they could to help us. I was on strict bed rest for the first 8 days of our stay. We had room service breakfast beautifully presented every day, plates brought to our room for take aways we brought in, staff recommended places near by that offered take away etc. We needed some documents etc printed and this was done for us with no issues. They communicated with visiting doctors etc for us. They even provisionally held rooms for us so they were not lost prior to the travel insurance confirming these. We needed a wheelchair to move rooms mid stay and the hotel kindly rented this for us. Nothing we needed was ever a problem and the staff went above and beyond. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The rooms were lovely and beds extremely comfortable. The cleaners were happy to clean around us when we were in the room as I could not leave. I wish we could have stayed under better circumstances but they made my recovery incredibly comfortable. I cannot thank the staff enough and will be forever grateful.
Stacey C — Google review
The hotel and room were beautiful, and the staff was friendly. However, the air conditioning was poor, and the bathroom counter in Room 101 was damaged. The bed and pillows could also be upgraded, which was disappointing considering the hotel’s reputation for quality. The hotel’s website states that they have on-site parking, but it doesn’t. Public parking is available approximately 100 yards away, but please note that cash is required for parking payment, as credit card transactions are not accepted at the kiosk. The breakfast was basic but good.
Greg R — Google review
Well, the hotel is in the new part of town, not in the old city, which is about a 25-minute walk downhill with lots of steps. The hallways are very dirty, and the bathroom, considering the size of the room, is uncomfortable and very small. The breakfast is very basic; it doesn't include eggs, they charge extra for them. The hotel is really far from a 5-star hotel. Good AC

We absolutely loved everything about this charming converted palace. The service was phenomenal with everyone being extremely kind and accommodating. We used the spa after dinner one evening and it was so peaceful and calming. The close proximity to wonderful sites was perfect for our overnight journey. The breakfast was stellar and the rooms were pristine. I wish we had booked more nights here but I do plan on returning one day. Upon checking out, I thought I had lost an item in the room. They couldn't have been more helpful with trying to locate it and with taking my contact information in case it had shown up. There's nothing more to say than book this charming place for your stay and you won't be disappointed.

Excellent boutique hotel in an old Palazzo with 13 rooms. Stayed for 2 nights and regret not having stayed longer. Lavish breakfast in a fabulous 19-century banquet room, perfect service, parking in the courtyard upon reservation. Italy at its best - worth every Euro!

As you wander through the streets of Ragusa, you'll encounter the stunning Palazzo Cosentini, a prime example of Baroque architecture with its elegant balconies adorned with intricate mythical figures. Nearby, Palazzo Bertini boasts vaults adorned with three masks representing different societal roles. The Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista in Piazza San Giovanni is a sight to behold, showcasing magnificent baroque art on its facade.

This is one of the most beautiful Baroque palaces in Ibla. Built in the second half of the 18th century, its features are four magnificent — and curious — balconies: the “Maldicenza” (Slander), the “Cantastorie” (Singer), the “Benessere” (Well-being) and the “Gentiluomo” (Gentleman). The first overlooks the narrow slope that was originally the only road connecting Ragusa Inferiore and Ragusa Superiore, while the other three overlook the current Corso Mazzini, which was not as important then as it is today. In fact, the elegant and imposing main entrance of the palace still opens onto the Salita Commendatore. Each balcony is supported by five trunks, each sculpted with two overlapping figures related to the story being described. All, however, are extraordinary figures, often grotesque, clearly intended to surprise passersby. And they succeed.

A magical setting with authentic Sicilian recipes. We had an incredible evening welcomed by Martina and her team, with an outdoor table with a stunning view over Ragusa Ibla at sunset. Beyond the panoramic vista, the food was a tour of Sicilian cooking: pasta, meat, side dishes, stunning and decadent desserts... just wonderful. As a family of four, even our young kids had a great dinner with kid-friendly choices and attentive staff actions. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Pizza restaurant
I had a delightful dining experience at Antares restaurant, where I indulged in a delectable dinner consisting of pizza, salad, and wine. The service provided was outstanding, with enthusiastic waiters who added to the overall pleasant ambiance. To end the evening on a high note, I enjoyed an Amaro. I couldn't find any flaws or faults with my experience here; it truly exemplified the goodness of life.
Noisy, busy, hectic restaurant on a big busy square. The large seating area is not where the sign is on the map but in the centre of the square. Look for the Antares name by the entrance. The three exceptionally hard-working waitresses (we loved the kind lady with the blue hair) made our evening, constantly checking we were enjoying ourselves and liking the food. Food was good but it became great because of the service. Very enjoyable evening. Very busy after about 8.30 and you will need to wait a long time or book ahead.

We were here in october with a group of ten. I think the food could improve, the pizzas were not the best but the desserts were amazing. The staff and vibes were very friendly and fun. Special thanks to Carmen and Horazio for their lovely service and help!

We avoided this restaurant due to its low rating, but found ourselves sitting in their open air section at night (seems that they share the area with another cafe). The pizzas were delicious and service was very quick. Staff were very helpful.

The food was very bad. Tasteless meat, The ravioli was covered in red tomato sauce and tasted like canned sauce. The tomatoes in the salad were not ripe enough. Overpriced for what we ate, too noisy too. Not a good choice.
Stavroula G — Google review
We had several dishes… a tuna cheesecake which was a small bland stringy formed tartare on crumbles (no cheese) but looks like a tart. Octopus on a green pea purée was good. Ravioli stuffed with sweet canola cream in a canned tasting red sauce. Overall food was very average which would be okay if service was not as gruff and unfriendly.

If zero stars were possible, I’d give it. This place doesn’t even deserve one. We went there tonight, placed an order, and after waiting over an hour, we had to ask about it—only to find out it hadn’t even been prepared yet. When we asked how much longer it would take, the waitress said she didn’t know. We eventually left because we couldn’t wait any longer. Extremely poor service and absolutely NOT recommended.

This popular establishment is known for its excellent Arancini, a traditional Sicilian dish. Whether you have just visited the cathedral or are looking for a quick bite, La Grotta Ragusa is a must-visit destination that showcases the true character of Sicilian food.
We were tired got in to town went here because it was close and affordable. It was so good pizza sandwich and small bites. Now the next night both me and my partner keep saying let's go back. We never eat same place twice but this place may break the rule. Give it a try it is very good
Chris — Google review
We came across La Grotta on our search for a good panini and were definitely not disappointed in the slightest! The chef is the kindest soul and gave us some recommendations for our trip as well. They make the sandwiches fresh in front of your eyes and you can either choose from the menu or put together whatever compination you would prefer. I definitely recommend you coming by of you're in Ragusa!

Stumbled across this restaurant for a quick bite after arriving late into Ragusa. So glad we did as everyone was super helpful and friendly. Food was tasty and portions were large!

Lots of choice and super affordable prices ! But more importantly, the food we ordered was delicious. Me and my parents really enjoyed our time here, having arancine and vegetables/chicken breasts on the side. I would definitely come back here if I could !! Everything we ordered is fresh and homemade, and it tastes as such!

If there were 10 stars I would definitely give this place all 10. The pizza was tasty, they offer a selection of Sicilian beer, the staff speaks some English and the place is really affordable and full of locals. During my short stay in Ragusa I went there twice!

Located in Ragusa, Italy, Ristorante Locanda Don Serafino is a historic boutique hotel and restaurant that offers an exquisite dining experience. Chef Vincenzo Candiano skillfully utilizes locally sourced Sicilian ingredients to create tantalizing dishes. The three-course set lunch is highly recommended for its exceptional value, while the evening tasting menus are perfect for those seeking the full Candiano experience.
Overall a very nice evening with delicious food. The ambience is great inside the cave with a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed our “Origini” tasting menu with wine pairing. The only thing that we noticed was both the wine pairing and the speed of dishes were a bit rushed. Also after we were seated we were asked our name for the reservation again which was a bit weird for a 1 star restaurant. In conclusion we liked the food and would come again.

The food is really really good. Well done chef! We enjoyed it a lot. Thank you! Definitely worth coming to this place if you are staying in the area. When we walked in, there was a sewage smell, but it went away very quickly. Not sure what it was. The service is a mixed bag. The lady that looked after our table was great. The short guy with dark hair at the front desk was rude when we walked in, but he was fine on our way out. The sommelier is kind of grumpy. It’s a shame, hence I am giving them a four stars and I hope they will read this review.

This was a beautiful location in the side of the mountain with delicious food. We did one of the tasting menus with a couple of us doing the wine pairing and it was all delicious. It was pricy for sure, but well worth it for the experience.

Incredible michelin star restaurant. The best michelin star I have tried. The restaurant is located near a rock so inside is very beautiful so it seems you are inside the rock. The wine cellar is unbelievable, very nice to see more then 18.000 bottles from all over. Food is also fantastic.

An evening with a lovely atmosphere. Food was ultimately delicious, well accomplished and rounded by excellent wine pairing choices. Attention to detail and the always mentioned Sicilian experience we talk about when having returned back home. You feel fairly treated, not just like a customer but a family member.

An absolute must-visit. A truly wonderful place with outstanding staff. The food is delicious, creative, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is romantic and elegant — one of the best Michelin experiences we’ve ever had.

The food was incredible with textures, flavors, and style that I'll be thinking about for a long time. The true highlight was our server Daniel and our sommelier Carmello. They went out of their way to make sure the we had a wonderful evening, giving us local recommendations and taking us on a private tour of the cellar. The service can make all of the difference in a fine dining setting, and we had a truly a phenomenal experience because of them.
Brady M — Google review
There were a couple of larger groups dining at the same time as us (party of two), and service felt much more attentive to those tables — we had some long lulls waiting for attention. The food itself was just okay; the pastas were served lukewarm, which was a bit odd. I did enjoy the potato knish amuse-bouche (and appreciated that they offered me a second one). The atmosphere was a bit less relaxing than expected, as a young child nearby was screaming for much of the meal.

Beautiful place, would reccomend to visit, is a nice feeling to get surrounded by nature after being in the different cities of Sicily. We just walk the path towards the mouth of the river and the sea, and it was peaceful and gorgeous. Recommend to walk it when the sun is not at its highest point due to almost no shade. We did walk it in flip-flops, but probably better with closed shoes.

Recommend walking the trail parallel to the river till you reach the sea, making a stop in the bird watching spot having care to keep silent and stealthy to get a chance to catch some nice birds Then walk the sentiero retroduna or alomg the beach till you reach the cliff.

Grotta Delle Trabacche is an impressive historical site with catacombs from ancient times. Unlike other similar sites in the area, this one is free to visit, making it a worthwhile stop. The location is easy to find, but visitors are advised to park at the designated parking lot and not follow GPS instructions that may lead to a challenging route. Accessible through a short 10-minute walk with stunning views, the cave entrance can be found after passing through gates.
Interesting place to visit, but do not try to follow satnav to this location! Select the car park to the west instead. Then it's a short walk on a good path.

Lovely walk in the nature. Easy, but with uneven footing, and minimal steps. Watch out for cows and manure. Plentiful parking, free. Well marked path on the map at the entrance. Offers no shade. *Roadside signs are a bit faded, pay attention to the turn.

Directions: at the parking lot when you look at the (broken) sign of the cave go left and follow the path untill you find a gate. (5-10 minutes walking) Go trough the gate and go down one level. Here you will find the entrance, which is another gate. Not suitable for disabled people, also not recommended at night.

We enjoyed very much the visit to all three sites: Zona archeologica, Casa museo Uccello, Palazzo Cappellani. But we were unpleasantly surprised by the lack of brochures, as we were given one recycled booklet for 4 of us, written in Italian and French, that had to be returned at the exit of the zona archeologica. There was also no option for purchasing anything in italian or any other language. Anywhere you go in the world, museums offer free small booklets or more extensive ones for purchase. Not at Palazzolo Acreide. We were also surprised by the lack of street signage to guide us to the Casa museo Uccello and to Palazzo Cappellani. Palazzo Cappellani did not even have a visible sign at the door. Palazzo Cappellani, furthermore, would benefit by some form of multi language translation of all the explanatory notes at each artifact. It is an amazing work in progress but it needs some user friendly fine tuning.

Palazzo Arezzo Di Trifiletti is a historic palace located in Ragusa, Italy. Originally dating back to the 1500s, it has undergone several changes over the years. The neoclassical style of the palace makes it an elegant and notable structure in the town. Following its destruction in the 1693 earthquake, it was rebuilt and completed in the mid-19th century.
Had the pleasure to enjoy a private tour of the palazzo and another two nearby atrractions included in the tour. For the Pallazzo the guide was one of Arezzo Di Trifiletti' family members. The interior features frescoed ceilings, large mirrors with golden frames, red damask sofas, and red silk on the walls.

This is a very interesting little 20 minute tour which includes some fascinating detail about the history of the club. The tour is very reasonable for 6 Euros. Be warned, however, that when the guide has finished she ushers you into a palace across the street and leaves you with another guide. This is misleading because it feels very much like a continuation of the same tour but it isn't and 20 minutes later at the end the new guide demands another 6 euros each!!

Excellent tour for only 15 euro, and it included a visit to another palazzo and Cinabro Carrettieri. The guide was a delight, providing extremely interesting details on the circle's history and details about the palazzo. Tours are every half hour, alternating English and Italian. There were only three of us, which made the experience even better, as we didn't feel rushed and were able to ask questions. Without a doubt one of my favorite Italian experiences.

(Translated by Google) With great luck I managed to visit this private club founded by the Ragusa nobility in the nineteenth century. It is located at the end of the square in front of the Ragusa cathedral. As can be seen from the list of subscribers, each member participated with a share and to this day only the descendants of the founding members can enter. The club was created out of a mere need for a meeting place and had a lot of media coverage as it was the headquarters of the club where Doctor Pasquano used to play cards and was disturbed daily by Inspector Montalbano.

By chance, I stumbled upon Ai Lumi after a disappointing experience at another restaurant. The staff kindly offered me a table and served an exceptional wine. Although I usually prefer local cuisine, the pasta was delectable and my husband enjoyed his steak and tomato salad. The welcoming staff made our dining experience memorable. This casual spot came highly recommended by our hotel for its authentic Sicilian fare.
This place is amazing, a very relaxed atmosphere with simple Sicilian food done in a proper way and cooked with passion, Vincenzo the chef has been at it for awhile now and maybe somebody may think that this is Classic Mediterranean but I can assure you sometimes nothing beats the belief that the ingredients you are using and the execution with which you cook them flavours on the plate that encompass the true passion of Sicily, I would recommend this place anybody that is looking for genuine food, served in a family run restaurant. They would say in Sicily, this is Cucina Semplice. The Wine list is very well priced, As all the food items, I would say that inclusive Wine and a tree course mean this is a medium price Restaurant

This restaurant most probably was at its peak a decade ago but still retains a scent of its prior glory and a menu to match. I suspect it may be approaching its last hurrah but we enjoyed a well prepared and unhurried meal. Grazie.

I would recommend making a reservation on weekends. Luckily the front of house staff fitted us in for a late 9.30pm sitting. We had the caponata to start which was quite sweet, but very moreish. We then shared the lamb ragu and pork knuckle, which were very generous portions and tasted great.

Had a delicious, authentic dinner here. Recommended by our hotel for a casual spot to sample typical Sicilian food. Tried the ricotta ravioli with pistachio, black pork with tomato sauce, caponata, chocolate cake and lemon mousse. We loved it all. They have an extensive wine selection and were friendly and helpful.

We were served by a young lad , who was not interested in his work, but overall we cannot complain that much, the food was good, though small portions, but they show the world , that you can have a well doen steak without having to use a chainsaw to cut it, The food was excelent. As for the atmosphere, I loves it in the narrow street.

After having a bad experience with booking in another restaurant we came here by chance. They were very nice to give us a table. The wine was very very very good. The food very tasty. I don't like usually to eat at these places because I'm looking for a local food but the pasta was very tasty and my husband ordered steak and tomato salad it was delicious. Thank u for the staf for welcoming us

Miserable service and overall food quality. The portions are small, you need to eat at least two dishes. Quite pricey for what they are offering too. AVOID IT.

Absolut wonderful little paradise on a terrace. Perfect authentic service, great recommendations, delicious food. The owner showed us many wines, which were all from around ragusa and let us choose. We had a great lunch and enjoyed the view!

This place is well tucked away up a very steep windy hill and then a flight of stone stairs Once there, the mature gentleman at the desk is very welcoming Then up another 2 flights of stairs to the terrace, but wonderful views The waiters / waitress were not welcoming at all and made me feel like a nuisance for being there and more so on my own They tried to seat me in a part of the terrace that was not lit and facing away from the view, after asking I was taken to a table that was lit with a view Service was slow and impolite The food was delicious. I had a pizza which was so tasty, just too much, but took half home for lunch the next day When paying the bill back downstairs and leaving, the mature gentleman was again warm and lovely

We asked the receptionist what he could recommend at then we asked where he would eat; La Terrazza dell’Orologio We had a great diner. Wanted pizza and after grilled cheese starters we got two very nice traditional delivered pizzas. A great white wine SurSur Sicilia Doc Grillo to go with it. Service was good and Daniel took good care off us. Beside the good food and service the view from the terrace is wonderfull. Would you know there was a restaurant? No. The sign shows the way. Would we recomment. A big yes. We would go there again without hesitation.

We had very nice dinner at La Terrazza. Views on the old town are really amazing. We had very good mixed meat grill, ravioli, meat balls and lamb. Pasta with shrimp was not so good. Staff not well organized and not so friendly. No wine list so you have to order on their recommendation (good one).

We only ate pizza and it was nothing special. The view is great but it is the only good thing about this restaurant. P.S. The moustache man was very friendly and polite! 😄

Beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the new town. Make a reservation! The waitress seemed incredibly uneducated about wine for working at a wine bar. Said she had never heard of the vino mandorla despite it being native to this area of Sicily. There is only one type of red wine that you can order by glass. Very atypical for Italy, a glass of wine was 8 euro. Total bill was 16 euro for two glasses of wine with a 4 euro service charge. Seems excessive just for a single glass of wine.

The waitstaff and cuisine at Maredentro are both superb. It is highly recommended to inquire with the proprietor for wine suggestions, as they are sure to impress. The breakfast dish of tortelli pistachio was enjoyable due to its generous portion size. The restaurant boasts a lovely rustic interior that complements the delightful dinner experience. The owners are welcoming and amiable. Notably, the pistachio tortellini was exceptional in taste.

Food was amazing! Great service and everything was delicious.
Hilary L — Google review
Three of the appetizers were tasty. The eggplant Parmesan was ok but small and not as cheesy as we like. Certainly not made with reggiano grana but the cheaper kind. The calamaretti alla Luciana could have tasted great had the strained tomato been from riper tomatoes and not dressed with dry herbs. The primo sale was grilled well, but it cooled very quickly. The caprese was definitely disappointing. Again, dried oregano thwarts the experience. Caprese requires fresh basil and and equal amounts of tomatoes and mozzarella. The tortelli were okay, but just like the spaghetti meatballs dressed in low quality passata sauce with the ever present dried oregano. The meatballs were tasteless. At the end of the meal, I walk away with a mouthful of dried oregano. We were hungry, so we ate everything, but I suppose this place caters to tourists with little or no knowledge of Italian cuisine. Such a pity. But expensive, and the overall poor quality makes one wonder why.

(Translated by Google) A place almost always closed and unknown to most until now despite being part of the contemporary history of the city of Ragusa (used as a quarry and propaganda by the fascist regime, it was an anti-aircraft shelter during the Second World War), it will be visible until the month of November thanks to the will of the regional tourist guides association, of the C.A.I. and the municipality of Ragusa. Thanks to the trained and passionate guide, the visit, which lasts an hour, passes quickly and interestingly. We hope that this "experiment" can continue and that the Quarry can be equipped with the use of modern museum equipment (at the moment only a short video projected on a wall) which would certainly make it much more attractive.

(Translated by Google) Visited on 6 September, on the occasion of the Baroque in every sense event. Fantastic location, in the "true heart" of Ragusa. The event, perfectly placed in this unique space, was characterized by a mix of music and food. A piece of advice for the organisers: better description and exaltation of the location, especially for unaware tourists, as well as valorising the excellent artists who performed, who were not even presented! Location to see and experience.

During the Second World War, the Latomie were used by the inhabitants as an air raid shelter. Cantunera Ibla, located in Ragusa RG, Italy, is a must-visit spot specializing in arancini and cannoli. This casual dining destination offers a variety of fillings for their fried rice balls and crispy ricotta-filled cannoli. Visitors rave about the delicious Ragu and Norma arancini as well as the unforgettable cannolis. The friendly and attentive team provides great service to complete the experience at Cantunera Ibla.
Completely lives up to the hype!! We tried the Ragu and Norma arancini which were delish! Could’ve have had more but we were happily stuffed. Finished off our experience with cannolis that were unbelievable. Great service from a friendly and attentive team.

Cantunera Ibla is a little gem in Ragusa Ibla that focuses on just two things — arancini and cannoli — and does both incredibly well. The arancini are delicious, with a perfectly crunchy outer shell and a flavorful, well-seasoned filling. But the real standout is the cannolo. Truly the best we’ve ever had — the shell is crisp and fresh, and the cream is light, slightly sweet, and incredibly tasty. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into making them. Nadia, the owner, is wonderfully friendly and makes you feel right at home. If you’re in Ibla, this place is a must-visit for a quick bite and a truly unforgettable dessert.

Delicious arancini, freshly made, one of the best I’ve had in Sicily. Recommend to pair it with a beer. The service was impeccable our waitress spoke multiple languages and was very friendly.

Arancini - delicious, Cannoli - delicious. Do yourselves a favour and come here. 2 arancini each and a cannolo is more than enough for a dinner. We tried the Norma, Ragu, Pistacchio and Potato. All were delicious.

The Arancini were very delicious. Staff were very friendly, they took time to explain each offering. Great place to eat!

Fantastic ! If you like Arancini (Italien fried risotto) you will find the best here 🏆🏆 Taste is great and the breading is borderline good. Perfectly crispy. Finish with coffee and Cannoli Siciliani. Nothing more to add😉 Staff super friendly - Thanks

Great selection of Arancine at a great price. We ordered 3 for the 2 of us and couldn’t finish them. The waitress spoke excellent English. Great outdoor setting with great service. Very good craft beer selection available too. Definitely would come back.

They serve you arancini just made for you. They are absolutely terrific. My personal favorite was with ragù. The crew is very friendly and nice. You can seat there and also have drinks, wine, whatever. And don't skip on the canollo for the dessert.

This place is a great place to eat Sicilian food. The food is good, and the prices are very reasonable. There are several rooms in the restaurant, each with its own feel. The service was polite and helpful.
Wonderful place! We tried local appetizers, a good choice to taste different flavors! Fantastic pizzas! Very good beer from Sicily! The service was attentive and fast, there were quite a few people at lunch, although the beginning of February is far from the tourist season. Very reasonable prices. There is a bus stop right opposite the restaurant. If you want to taste delicious things from Sicily - I recommend it!

We were lucky to get a table without reservation for a Sunday lunch, just before the place got absolutely full. Sitting inside was a unique experience, having the chance to observe the busy kitchen staff preparing meal after meal and the waiters unstoppably serving the guests. After the meals were served to us, we understood why this place gets so busy: the meals prepared here are truly delicious, with rich flavour, uniquely seasoned and with plenty of ricotta. We also liked that all the ingredients are sourced locally. The staff was nice, welcoming and they always had a nice smile on their face. The food was a great value for money and we also loved the unique local atmosphere. Very satisfying experience, highly recommend you visit this restaurant if you are in the area.

The guy who rent us a house recommended this place. And it was the best food experience in Sicily. Everything we tasted was super delicious. Waiter was kind. Desserts were awesome 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 You should try the almond and ricotta dessert.

Best meal yet after a week in Sicily. I had the sardine pasta with “Sicilian ingredients” along with tomato salad. It truly tasted Devine. Thankyou. This is a fine example of how you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. The neon sign said Pizzeria, Trattoria.

If you want traditional, quality Sicilian food, you definitely need to try this place. Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection and make sure you leave room for dessert!

Well, the most delicious thing we ate in Sicily in a week. The service was amazing, it could be simply exemplary. We liked everything very much, we would come back many times if we could. Best of luck!

Great food. We had beautifully cooked veal and the orange and fennel salad. Everything comes in a gluten free version and the gluten free bread was the best I’ve had in two weeks in Sicily.

Located in a sceneric corner, this place combines great food, high quality cocktails and amazing service. If you’re here for for a drink and snack, try the fish starter plate and also the fries with aromatic herbs are 10/10

Trattoria La Bettola is a charming family-run restaurant in Ragusa, offering traditional Sicilian dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The cozy dining room and terrace provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy creative takes on modern cuisine as well as fusion experiments with Sicilian, Italian, and seafood dishes. With attentive and professional staff, the restaurant reflects true Sicilian hospitality while serving up flavorful and comforting meals.
I love this restaurant. I went to there twice. The first time I was there, it was super busy that I waited for about half hour, and there was no waiter to help me order or give me anything to eat that I was almost starving, even I waved my hand to a male waiter several times. That was not very good experience. But I can somehow understand, but maybe they need more waiters lol. Anyway, the taste was sooo good, so balanced and you can feel the natural taste of the food itself. And all the female waitresses are so welcoming and enthusiastic, I felt the warmth and passion from them. I ordered twice their dessert as well. All of them are super tasty, better than some bakery shop. Highly recommended!

Quite possibly the best meal we've had in Sicily. We shared some bruschetta to start and without a doubt this was the best I've ever tasted. We ordered 4 different mains and each tasted absolutely delicious. Don't normally get dessert after lunch but given the quality of the other dishes had to make an exception and again the taste was delicious. Already thinking of returning for dinner.
Stephen M — Google review
A very special place — both because of the people and the local, homemade food. We came back twice. The meatballs, the restaurant’s specialty, were the best meal we had in southern Sicily. :) Prices are very reasonable given the high quality of the food, and we were always served quickly.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredible — especially the meatballs, which were simply out of this world. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. One of the best dinners I’ve had in Italy in years. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Located in Corso Vittorio Veneto, La Taverna Del Lupo is a popular trattoria in Ragusa, Sicily. The restaurant offers authentic Sicilian cuisine made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The owner is known for being pleasant and knowledgeable about the food and wine served at the restaurant. With retro-style interiors, this tavern provides a cozy atmosphere to enjoy typical Ragusan dishes. Visitors highly recommend making reservations due to its popularity.
Amazing!!! Wonderfully cool (in all senses) dining room - with almost all locals. And why wouldn’t they! Very reasonable priced, fabulous food - and IMHO - the best cream Catalan I’ve had ever. Delicious cheap local wine, friendly multilingual staff - and wonderful pasta - so elegant yet hearty. Great atmosphere, great food, great wine - small bill. Highly recommended

Very traditional restaurant by locals for locals. The food is original with reasonable price. We went there on a Tuesday and it was fully packed even at 10 pm.

Great place Great Boss and super people running the business. Food really good. Explains why e.g. no clams are served: no season. We had a real good meal here and enjoyed it.

We three friends came for dinner and enjoyed it so much that we promptly made a reservation for the following evening. The entire staff (including the father-daughter team of owners) is hospitable and friendly, and the food is positively delicious. We tried many different antipasti and side dishes and found them to be as wonderful as the secondi piatti. Note: the service is highly attentive and we felt that our plates were sometimes cleared from the table slightly too soon, so be advised to guard your last morsels. You will surely want to savor every crumb.

Our bnb host recommended so we went there and both my husband and I absolutely loved the food. I had tuna with onions as they recommended, and it was so flavourful!! They were very friendly too :)

Was turned away at the door shortly after restaurant had opened for dinner. No reason was given (would haved welcomed a reason or to be told why - but, rather, was just told "no"). The place was maybe 1/4 full. Edit: What I said was true. I was not told I needed a reservation and thats why we were turned away. The restaurant was no more than 25% filled. Completely understandable if you were expecting people to come later and they had just not showed up but the point here was just being told "no" nothing more, nothing less
