Farmers Markets
The Green Bazaar in Almaty is a bustling indoor market filled with stalls offering a wide variety of goods. Visitors can explore an abundance of fruits, berries, exotic delicacies, sweets, cheeses, meat products, and rare spices. The friendly sellers are eager to offer samples of national delicacies for visitors to try before making a purchase. Additionally, the market features small dining places serving traditional dishes like lagman and plov.
This is a great location. The first floor (assuming you enter from the main entrance) is the cleanest and most photogenic part. However, as you walk further through the halls and corridors, you’ll first reach the jewelry section. Then, if you take the stairs down, you’ll find the real bazaar on the ground floor, where locals tend to shop due to slightly lower prices. Similar to the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, if you’re willing to explore beyond the main market building, you’ll find many shops scattered along the surrounding streets. From textiles to seeds, almost everything can be found here. You can walk among the locals — the quality is generally low, but so are the prices. At the main entrance, you’ll notice stairs leading to the upper floors. Surprisingly, a coffee shop, a meat restaurant, and a fish restaurant have been set up among the structural columns. The coffee shop is excellent and definitely worth a visit. The meat restaurant is usually packed with locals — it seems to be very good, although I didn’t get the chance to try it. This is definitely a spot that should be experienced.

Green Bazaar is not just about a bazaar selling butchery, it has other stalls selling household products. Of course, butchery section is the most interesting. Selling from horse meat, beef, lamp, pork and chicken. The stall holders are very friendly. You can also find Korean food stuff here. There are also money changers with good exchange rates outside.
Lee K — Google review
A hyperactive market bursting with local sights, sounds and smells. Very close to my hotel, the bazar literally offers everything under one roof. From souvenirs, dry fruits, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, baked goods, clothes, toys and so much more. They have a money exchange there too. Prices are reasonable and fresh produce is of top quality. They even have a salon, prayer room and several cafes. Quality of fruits I bought was excellent. Don't miss it!
Pankaj — Google review
Green Bazaar (Zelyony Bazaar), Almaty 🇰🇿 If you want to experience the real heart of Almaty, Green Bazaar is the place to go! It’s a vibrant, colorful market packed with energy, aromas, and friendly local vendors. You’ll find a huge variety of stalls — from fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and dried fruits to meat, fish, and dairy counters offering local delicacies like horse sausage (kazy), smoked meats, and homemade cheeses. There’s also a big section for spices, honey, chocolates, and herbal teas, all beautifully displayed and perfect for gifts or souvenirs. Upstairs and around the sides, there are stalls selling traditional Kazakh clothing, hats, carpets, handicrafts, and souvenirs, giving you a glimpse of local culture and craftsmanship. Prices are fair, and many vendors offer samples — especially for dried fruits and nuts. Travel Tips: Bring cash (Kazakh tenge), as not every stall takes credit cards. Go in the morning for the freshest produce and fewer crowds. Bargaining politely can help you get better deals. Don’t miss the small eateries around the market serving local snacks and shashlik grills. Overall, Green Bazaar is more than just a market — it’s a cultural experience full of flavors, colors, and local warmth. Highly recommended for families, foodies, and anyone who loves exploring local life.
Semeer K — Google review
Great place. Clean. Lots of interesting food, don’t be afraid to ask for a sample. And prices are fair if you choose to buy. I bought few varieties of delicious horse meat sausage, some horse milk smoked cheese, etc. There is also other areas and levels with fresh fruit, dried fruit, Korean food, local souvenirs, clothing etc.
James W — Google review
An expansive, multi-floor bazaar which sells basically everything from meat and vegetables to clothing and jewelry. It’s a fun place just to walk through and explore.
Matt B — Google review
Green Bazaar is a vibrant, authentic slice of Almaty life that’s surprisingly clean and well-maintained. Even if you’re not typically a market person, this is absolutely worth visiting. The bazaar beautifully captures Kazakhstan’s diverse food culture and ethnic groups, offering a genuine look at local life. It’s colorful, lively, and provides real insight into the daily rhythms and culinary traditions of the city.
Sansiri K — Google review
A local bazaar that's nothing special for those from India. You can buy various dry fruits and nuts, that's pretty much it. The rest is fruits, vegetables and meats and Chinese made clothing and shoes. Visit only if you have nothing else to do and want to buy dry fruits, else skip.

Park
The Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, situated in the heart of Almaty, is a 44-acre urban park that pays tribute to the heroic Panfilov soldiers who fought during WWII. The park features striking war memorials and an 'eternal flame' honoring their sacrifice. Adjacent to the park stands the visually captivating Ascension Cathedral, a Tsarist-era wooden structure claimed to be one of the tallest in the world.
The park is buzzing with people and I visited this place with my family. My four-year-old had a blast with her bubble gun, fishing activity and visiting the ascension church. The experience was surreal. Also, it is good to meet local children trying to converse in English. Plenty of pigeon-feeding activities and kids keep your little ones engaged. I highly recommend this place for the kids.
Varun C — Google review
For beginners, this park house the Ascension Cathedral, museum of instruments, war memorial. One walk around the park and you will cover most of the attractions. Pleasant walking track, small shops, kid friendly stroll and further walk leads to the central park. Put your best walking shoes.

Great place. Shows the history of world war and the people who have contributed their lives to save their country. Must visit for travellers! There's a beautiful music museum too. This place is near to green market and Ascension cathedral

28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park, Almaty 🇰🇿 A beautiful and peaceful green space in the heart of Almaty perfect for a relaxing family stroll or a quiet afternoon to feel the nature. The 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park is not just a park, but an important historical landmark dedicated to the 28 soldiers who bravely defended Moscow during World War II. The centerpiece of the park is the impressive Eternal Flame and the War Memorial, surrounded by beautiful flower gardens and tall trees that provide shade throughout the area. The Ascension Cathedral, with its stunning wooden architecture and colorful domes, adds to the charm and makes it a must-see for visitors. There are walking paths, benches, and open areas where families relax, kids play, and tourists take photos with pigeons. The atmosphere is calm and respectful, with soft background music and a sense of history everywhere. Travel Tips: Visit in the morning or evening for the best light and fewer crowds. Combine your visit with a stop at the nearby Green Bazaar or Arbat Street. Great place for families, photographers, and history lovers. A perfect mix of history, culture, and nature, one of Almaty’s most memorable spots.

Big beautiful park in the centre of Almaty. Good for walking and relaxing. It includes Ascension Cathedral, war museum, and a lot of monuments. Some ice cream vendors and playing area for children.
Habib — Google review
Nice park. Better maintained than the First President Park. The monuments were classic. Reminds one of the two world wars. The ice creams sold are very bad. The cotton candy was okay.
Arun N — Google review
Beautiful park covered with lush green trees during spring and summer. It has a church inside along with the statue of Panfilov Guardsman. Great place to go with kids and spend time with family.

The park is the most fantastic in early summer morning. It’s a historical place. There is a famous Cathedral that stood the devastating earthquake of 1911.

The park features lush greenery, aesthetic pathways, vibrant flowers, and artificial water reservoirs. We went here in autumn. But we were too early. Every ride and park was not open yet until 11am. Otherwise, there were super duper lots of family activities to do here. But we had a great stroll in the park. A lot of picture spots. And we were lucky to come across the squirrel 🐿️ house. Super cute!!!!

We visited Gorky Central Park in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and were truly amazed by its beautiful, old trees that give the park a peaceful, timeless feel. Established in 1856, it’s full of history and natural charm. We also visited the nearby Almaty Zoo, which made the day even more memorable.

It’s a lively yet peaceful spot where you can enjoy both nature and entertainment together. A must-visit if you want to experience Almaty’s community vibe.

As visitors, we didn’t know much about this park. We were told to visit Panfilov Park or First President’s Park most of the time. So when we found this park, we were so amazed and did not expect that it is so big and is actually an amusement park with many rides and entertainment for the whole family. This park is a hidden gem; more visitors should know about it.

Almaty Zoo, located in the eastern part of Almaty city at the foot of the Alatau Mountains, is one of the largest and oldest zoological parks in Kazakhstan. Established in 1937, it covers an area of approximately 21 hectares and features a diverse range of mammals, birds, and reptiles showcased in their natural habitats. The zoo has undergone significant expansion over its nearly 100-year history and is home to a multitude of animal species.
Fun activity when visiting Almaty, animals are well looked after, toilets are free, big area to cover. I suggest going early at the opening hours because of a hot summer this year. We bought the tickets at the entrance
Meerim O — Google review
This zoo is really an interesting place to visit, at a slow pace. Lots of animals to see. Always try to visit in the morning before the hot sun hits noon, so that the animals do not hide or sleep. One can easily spend 2 to 3 hours inside. The entrance is very affordable for visit. A little disappointed with some locals when they fed the animals with their food or knocked the glass encounters really hard, disturbing everyone.

Nice Zoo, not too extensive but worth the visit. Kid friendly. Lots of lions to see. They have elephant feeding 2 times per day. You can purchase tickets on the spot.

Great for families, friends, or couples. Don’t miss trying the cable car up to Shymbulak from here!

Imagine blue and green mountains, their sharp peaks topped with snowy white hats, just a 20-minute drive from the city. This unique and stunning destination offers a variety of activities for the whole family: skiing, ice skating, hiking through different trails, or climbing the famous health stairs. The mountain area is divided into several levels: First Level - Medeu: known for its legendary high-altitude ice skating rink. Second Level - Shymbulak: A picturesque ski resort that itself is split into two main sections: Combi 1 and Combi 2. The latter one is the highest point accessible by cable car, where the sky seems to touch the land. The panoramic views from here are truly unforgettable. Even in summer, snow still lingers on the pointy peaks, creating a striking contrast against the green slopes below. Whether you're seeking outdoor thrills or simply a peaceful mountain escape, this place has something for everyone.

Korean restaurant
Korean House Family Restaurant is a popular spot in Almaty, Kazakhstan, offering a diverse range of Asian cuisine. The restaurant boasts menus in Russian, English, and Korean to cater to its diverse clientele. Located on the bustling Kabanbay Batyra Street, it's a convenient place for locals and tourists alike to enjoy high-quality Asian dishes at reasonable prices.
Some friends invited us to join them here tonight and because this was the first week of school and I'm completely exhausted I made a ridiculous mistake and went to the wrong location at first. So, I've now seen two locations of Korean House in one evening and I can tell you they're both very nice. This one, the one I'm reviewing, has a larger outdoor patio and had live music for about an hour. The server spoke a little English. The food was top notch. It was the highest quality Korean food I've found in Almaty so far. Oh! They also truly know what spice is. When the server warned us the food we ordered was spicy he really meant it! That was awesome! It was true Korean level spice, be prepared! I love spicy food but if you're not accustomed to it then I recommend you get something mild. I've had many experiences here in Almaty when a server warns me a dish I've ordered is EXTREMELY spicy, they might have even try to convince me to order something else, and then it turned out not being spicy at all, so it was a lovely surprise to find truly spicy food. The restroom was also clean. That's always important. I will definitely be back.
Devidyal G — Google review
A friend of mine and I had an early dinner there: had a couple of appetizers and both had different soups as our main meals. We were offered traditional Korean starters and amazing dessert. We did also enjoy a pot of tea. The place is beautiful, the service is good. Everything was neat and clean.

AUYL

Restaurant
Auyl is a captivating restaurant in Almaty that offers an immersive experience with its decor and culinary creations. The dishes, cooked over open fire and in tandoor, bring an authentic prairie-steppe touch to the menu. Visitors can savor simmered lamb ribs with white cheese and date sauce while enjoying views of the Ile Alatau landscapes. Guests praise the amazing atmosphere, delicious traditional food with modern twists, and outstanding service.
Such a vibe! The atmosphere was incredible—modern Kazakh seating blended beautifully with traditional decor, creating a truly authentic vibe. We absolutely loved every moment of it! As someone who grew up in Kazakhstan, it was special to share this place with my husband and two kids visiting from the U.S. Honestly, we could have eaten and then just taken a cozy nap right there—it was that welcoming. The music was magical—enchanting and perfectly suited to the ambiance of the restaurant. The staff were attentive, friendly, and spoke great English, which made it easy to understand the dishes and their origins. The food was outstanding! We started with the green salad and tomato salad, then moved on to dumplings, both kinds of noodles, and kebabs—lamb and beef. The Uzbek pilaf was a highlight, and we paired it all with a local Kazakh beer specially made for this restaurant. We ended the meal with a pot of green tea. Hands down, this is our favorite restaurant in Almaty so far. The authenticity and warmth really stood out. We’ll definitely be back! And loved that my kids were able to swing under the yurt like tent outside.

It is really special. The staff are very attentive and helpful with and dietary concerns. Many options are special and unique. Everything was tasty, healthy, and carefully put together with attention to detail! So delicious.

I really loved this place. The interior is beautiful—warm, earthy, and thoughtfully designed with traditional Kazakh elements. It’s cozy but still feels a bit special, like somewhere you’d want to take friends or family visiting from abroad. Each little detail is thought out. The service was honestly one of the highlights. Everyone was so kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about creating a good experience without being too formal. Overall, it felt like a perfect mix of tradition, comfort, and hospitality. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town

We ordered the steak, noodles, and chicken tikka, and were pleasantly surprised with complimentary baursak as a starter and kumis for dessert. The noodles were handmade and delightfully chewy, while the steak and chicken had a rich, smoky flavor. The ambience felt both homey and aesthetically pleasing, and the views were beautiful. It’s also very easy to get to, with taxis able to drop you right at the entrance. A must visit in Almaty.

Thank you to Munira who was our waitress; she was very friendly and attentive; she gave wonderful recommendations. We had grilled trout which was well-cooked and the fish is soft and tender and also dumplings in chicken broth- the chicken broth is clean and the dumplings are delicious. We also had the desserts- which is a great way to end the meal . The restaurant has open kitchen so we can observed the chefs cooked the neo-nomadic cuisines

Very cool experience in this restaurant! Greeted with friendly and attentive staff, inside you’ll immerse yourself in a very unique set up and decorations. I sat on the round table where you have to sit on the ground, and you’ll get to see a nice view of the mountains from here. We tried the fried bread, tea, dungan noodles, tandoor chicken, dumplings, horse cheek, alma apple dessert and honey cake. Everything is good, I especially loved the horse cheeks as it was super tender and well seasoned. I only found that the dungan noodles with quail on a saltier side for its soup.

Turkish restaurant
Ozyurt Restaurant is a popular dining spot known for its Turkish cuisine, particularly its wide variety of kebabs and shish kebabs. Despite undergoing exterior renovations, the restaurant remains open and welcoming to guests. The spacious halal restaurant offers ample seating and a menu featuring images of each dish for easy ordering. Diners can expect prompt service with meals typically served within 10 minutes. While not considered fine dining, the restaurant consistently delivers delicious food, including their renowned doners.
On first sight, I thought the restaurant was closed but it's just an exterior renovation and the restaurant is still open! Thankfully... It's a halal restaurant serving dishes similar to Turkish cuisines. Space was huge. Plenty of seating area. Menu is not in English but you have pictures for all the food so don't worry. Server was prompt and waiting for meals is around 10 minutes.. Great food and tasty. Visited twice so it shows how good the food is! Highly recommended!

Food taste is good but not the best. Most disappointing is the the quantity which is very small. 1 full dish is not even enough for one person. Had food in many places in Almaty and here the quantity was the lowest. Not worth compared to the price.

Day 2

South side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the south side side of town. Start the day off with First President park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Medeu Cable Car, Shymbulak Ski Resort. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Park
Nature & Parks
First President Park is a stunning urban oasis in Almaty, dedicated to the legacy of Kazakhstan's first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Opened to the public in November 2011, this expansive park spans 73 hectares and is nestled at the intersection of Navoi Street and Al-Farabi Avenue in the Bostandyk district. With its breathtaking mountain backdrop, it has quickly become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike.
It's a wonderful park. It serves as a tribute to the first president of Kazakhstan. Lot of space inside and very calm and clean. In autumn, it becomes colourful. Get on a warm jacket, buy a coffee from the cafe inside the park, sit on the benches and enjoy every sip. 😁
Dibyesh D — Google review
The First President's Park in Almaty is a beautiful and well-maintained green space perfect for a relaxing stroll or a peaceful retreat from the city. With its picturesque walking paths, fountains, and stunning views of the snow-capped mountains, the park offers a great spot for photography and outdoor activities. The landscaped gardens and open spaces make it ideal for picnics, jogging, or simply enjoying nature. It’s especially stunning in autumn when the trees turn vibrant shades of red and gold. A must-visit for those looking to unwind in a serene environment!

Beautiful park can see the mountains view. Can start walking from the entrance all the way into the park, after passing by the Japanese gardens will arrive at the mountain viewing point. Very well maintained park with many chairs. From the side can walk to the dining street. The mega mall is walking distance from here. Can go there for ferries wheels if you like to enjoy the view from top. Public transport is easy to access this place.

First President Park in Almaty is absolutely breathtaking! The park is vast, beautifully landscaped, and filled with wide pathways, fountains, and greenery that make it a perfect spot for a peaceful walk or a relaxing afternoon. The views of the surrounding city and nearby mountains are stunning, especially during sunset, making it ideal for photography and quiet reflection. However, despite its beauty, the park does feel a bit abandoned in certain areas. Some sections seem underused or less maintained, giving it a quiet and almost eerie atmosphere at times. Still, this also adds a unique charm—walking through the empty spaces makes it feel like a private escape from the bustle of the city. I especially enjoyed watching families and couples stroll leisurely, and taking in the expansive landscape. It’s a perfect blend of natural beauty and city convenience, and even with its slightly deserted areas, it remains a must-visit for anyone in Almaty. Definitely a place to experience at your own pace and enjoy the calm, scenic surroundings!

Nice park but hard access for car or online taxi to drop or pick up. You can get a view with mountain here. Lots of kids during the weekend. a bit dissapointing no flowers when we arrived even it is spring, but still okay.
Crystaline C — Google review
The park was a lot of fun. I wouldn't necessarily put it at the top of your Almaty to-do list, but if you're looking for a pretty spot to fill some time, this is a great spot to check out. The most photogenic spot is definitely the entrance. The rest of the park is pretty and forested, but otherwise kind of unremarkable. Still, I'm glad I checked it out!
Aden A — Google review
Big and clean city park, with great views. We were not sure dogs were allowed but saw no signs against and no one stopped us entering. Inside, no one was walking their dogs so, not sure in the end.

so peaceful. so wonderful. I layed in the grass to soak it all in. there's so much room to walk. do you want a picnic? a proposal? a place to rest your eyes and mind? there's so much green and trees and flowers and the views of the mountains are just extravagant! MEGA Alma-Ata is a good mall for both shopping and dining. It is a busy place with a wide variety of options for visitors.
Ahmed A — Google review
I visited the mall today and was horrified to see a small black-tipped reef shark in a tiny aquarium, along with a couple of huge eels. The shark in particular was distressing to see, as it was swimming round and round the tank, which is clearly insufficient in size for such a creature. The shark had an injury to the pectoral fin that was continually bumping into the glass. The eels also appeared to be distressed. Despite the ‘no touching’ sign, people continued to tap the glass while I watched. These animals should be free in the ocean, not kept in inadequate stressful conditions for the viewing pleasure of shoppers. Very disappointing and I hope this will be reconsidered. If it makes a difference, I’m a veterinarian.

A huge modern mall with many international brands. It has a skating ring and multiple spots of cute attractions like the mini koi pond and mini sea aquarium. The supermarket galmart is also mega. The Almaty Botanical Garden, established in 1932, spans over a hundred hectares and features diverse thematic areas such as Japanese-style Zen Garden, wooded areas, rose gardens, and wide flower beds. Visitors can stroll along tree-lined pathways and encounter exotic plants from around the world including those from Russia, East Asia, the Caucasus and North America. The park also houses a Solarium for trees and cactuses that require warm conditions.
Beautiful park to take a stroll in Almaty. I was there during fall and the colors though mostly yellow were just stunning. Benches are available for resting also.

Foreigners pay 1,800 tenge (250% more than locals approximately). The size seems big on the map but actually a large part is off-limits to visitors and much is an asphalt roadway. 4/5 is fair as a pleasant retreat within a major city, though it's not really a botanical garden...just a well-kept garden.

It doesn't have much incommon with botanical garden, it's basically just a park, where you need to pay for entrance. I recommend to go to first president park instead, it's free and more beautiful. Also, foreigners have to pay 2 times bigger amount for entrance, which is pretty stupid.

Mountain cable car
The Medeu Cable Car and Shymbulak Ski Resort is a must-visit destination in Kazakhstan. The parking area costs 500 tenge for a day, and the cable car takes you to the first station on Shymbulak Mountain for 5000 tenge round trip. Although the middle and highest stations were under maintenance during our visit, the stunning views from the cable car made it worth it. The ride takes about 25 minutes, offering breathtaking scenery along the way.
The Shymbulak cable car is an incredible experience and absolutely worth it. We booked the 360 ticket, the most expensive option, and it was the best choice because it took us all the way to the top at 3200 meters. The views from there were simply breathtaking, with snowy peaks and wide mountain panoramas that made the ride unforgettable. Everything was well organized and smooth, and the ride itself was comfortable and safe. One tip is to avoid going down right at closing time, since the cable cars get very crowded then and you might need to wait in a packed cabin. Overall, this is one of the best things to do in Almaty. If you want the full experience, go for the 360 ticket and enjoy the amazing views from the very top.
Stathis ( — Google review
The cable car ride is awesome. Make sure you go on a cool day. If it’s sunny, it could get a little bit too hot inside the cables cars. When we reached the top of the mountains, we had only patches of snow here and there. But it was beautiful. You get to dress up and hold an eagle if you wish to.
Aleena P — Google review
Visited during the maintenance of Combi 1 & 2, but still got to take the gondola and KKD-4 — the views were amazing! The downside is there was no notice or sign saying that DSLRs are not allowed. I had to leave mine in a staff room with no guarantee of safety, which was quite disappointing.
Manita C — Google review
This is the best cable car in Almaty! It has three parts, so plan ahead. The return ticket costs 8,000 tenge per person. Enjoy the long ride with stunning views and amazing restaurants at the top. A must-visit!
Mohamed A — Google review
Quite a middling experience for me especially since I got the 360 ticket. Pros: 1. There are 3 routes that are back-to-back. The total length is certainly quite long and is impressive. 2. The round trip costs either 8000 or 10000 tenge (the latter for the 360 cabin with the glass floor). Considering the length of these trips, the price is justifiable and has good value. 3. The cable cars come fast. Cons: 1. The 360 cabin exists only on the first route. I didn’t see information when I was paying for the ticket stating this was the case and was disappointed to find out later that the other two routes don’t have this amenity. 2. The 360 cabin comes quite infrequently. At one point I think I waited ten minutes. 3. The cable cars are dirty, especially the glass, leading to a compromised view. 4. There’s a lot of haphazard development even at the absolute top (lots of establishments, asphalt and dirt roads, buildings, fences etc.) that it’s challenging to appreciate the nature on the route. I didn’t hike here but it certainly doesn’t feel worth it due to how much infrastructure there is. 5. The actual views aren’t anything special at least for me. If you’ve been to tours around Almaty, you’re not missing out. 6. Staff aren’t particularly friendly and don’t speak English. They won’t even ask the people waiting if anyone has a 360 cabin ticket and will just close its door. 7. The ski lifts going up the final route were all barred from use. 8. The cable cars all stopped working for 15 minutes on the first route. Announcements came slowly and only in Russian. In conclusion, if you’ve exhausted the tours and sights in and around Almaty and have a chill day to spend, then I can imagine it’s worth coming out here. Otherwise, it’s not something I’d prioritize. The 360 cabin is nice but make sure to wait for them (the blue cabins with the Samsung logo) and to notify the staff that you have the right ticket for them.
Saikhnaa — Google review
Highly recommended in terms of price (despite current construction work in the Kombi 2 area). Prices: - Medeu - Shymbulak - K1 round trip 6500₸ - Medeu - Shymbulak - K1 360° round trip 8 500₸ - Medeu - Shymbulak one way 4000₸ The panoramic cabin is particularly worthwhile due to the shorter waiting time, the fact that no other people come into the gondola, and the more comfortable seats. Of course, the view through the glass floor is also great. Much better view from above than from Kok Tobe Hill.
Johannes K — Google review
The longest cable car, need to change twice to reach the top of the mountain Prices 4000-6500 Tenge per person return tickets Very serene natural beauty
Manjeet B — Google review
Visited around 2 PM and there was a long queue for tickets and the ride but it moved quickly. Paid 8000 tenge for the roundtrip ride. The gondola glides over breathtaking mountain views that look like a postcard. Since it’s summer, it did get warm inside the gondola but the scenery makes up for it. The area is easy to reach from downtown Almaty and taxis are readily available in the entrance or can book via app.

Korean House, located in the vibrant city of Almaty, is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Asian cuisine. This restaurant stands out within its chain, offering a delightful ambiance that complements its extensive menu of Korean dishes. Diners can expect generous portions perfect for sharing, although some may find the prices slightly on the higher side. The service here is notably friendly and efficient, enhancing the overall dining experience. Popular choices include vegetarian rolls and flavorful beef dishes that are both aromatic and tender.

My husband and I used to visit the Gogol restaurant weekly before we moved close to Mega Center. Unfortunately the service at Mega isn't as good as the Gogol one and there are some pretty rude waiters here! The food is fine though I agree with another reviewer that some savoury dishes are disgustingly sweet -- other restaurants have the same problem . Anyway, the only reason I go to the Mega restaurant is because Gogol is too far.

ÇAĞRI U — Google review
There are many Georgian restaurants in Almaty, but from my point of view, if you enjoy Georgian cuisine you will like Daredzani as well. The place has different locations in the city. Hence this branch is not in the centre, but you'll be able to enjoy the dishes. We were seated outside. The place looks good and you can hear Georgian modern and old songs playing in the background, which makes it very athmospheric. The service was fast and staff was attentive. We took Pkhali board, Shoti and Ajapsandali. As a Georgian, I must say the board was delicious, but Mchadi is nowhere to be found in whole Almaty, which is strange as it just completes the cuisine, so my advice would be to add it to the menu as it will go well with most of the dishes. Ajapsandali was good, but not the best. Only eggplant and red bell pepper, in Georgia the dish has more flavors. I should mention ice cream, it was served in simple water cup, which is not quite nice, otherwise serving style was ok. Overally it is a good place, adapted to the locals, but some improvements can be taken into account.

I’d probably give this place 0 stars. The service was terrible! I had a layover in Almaty and was highly recommended to visit this restaurant by Ritz guys. Awful oily paste took 85 minutes to be prepared. The waiter had 0 Knowledge about the menu and even kids food took an hour to prepare. Never visit this place! Not Italian, not Soviet, just unacceptably bad!

Do not go here! I don’t know where to start. 1. When we got there we waited for at least 5min for the host to sit us, no one was around I had to ask the coat check lady to see if anyone was working at the doo so she kindly went and looked for the host. The lady looked like we are bothering her when she finally arrived to show us to our table, horrible!!!! Next was the waiter, who we waited for another 20min no menus, no water, nothing! When he finally came and took our order he came back 15 min later with our water which he just put on the table and left, this was the last time we saw him until we got our entrees 1.5 hrs later, I was looking for him so we can order more water but I didn’t see him at all it’s like he was a ghost. We ordered the USA ribeye stakes (400gr. Each) which we asked to be medium well. The steaks were cooked well done and the quality was horrible, compared to what it was the first time we were there. I wanted to complain but the waiter was nowhere to be found, AGAIN! Because we were in a hurry we just ate the stakes and asked for the check from another waiter and he brought us our check, WOW, so much money for poor quality overcooked steaks and some water, and NO SERVICE but of course the tips are already included, so no worries the waiter still got his money for doing nothing!! I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS RESTAURANT - 0 stars!
