Catholic church
Religious destination
The Pontifical Sanctuary of the Holy Stairs is a Catholic pilgrimage site adjacent to the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. It features a set of 28 marble steps believed to be the stairs that Jesus climbed during his Passion in Jerusalem. Emperor Constantine's mother, St. Helena, brought these sacred steps from Jerusalem to Rome in the fourth century.
St. Helena, (Emperor Constantine’s mother) brought the 28 marble steps of Pontiac Pilate’s palace in Jerusalem. There are stairs where Jesus climbed when he was sentenced to death. Now steps are covered with wood with small glass covered holes showing the stains of Jesus’ blood. Visitors can climb these steps on their knees. There are side other side steps for normal cluse. No photographs allowed inside the church. The visitors are required to wear modest dress; clothes covering shoulders and knees. Wheelchair access available to this church. The location is in front of Lateran Basilica.

A meaningful and beautiful pilgrimage place. We can climb the stairs in 2 ways, kneeling and walking. What a place that has a deep meaning. God bless.

Free, no need to buy a ticket. Try to step up stair with your knee. It’s special moment and hope you will feel something amazing, mercy of God. No photo inside and should be quite. The location is just in front of Lateran Basilica. Pay attention with heir opening hour. The best time is early morning before many tourist come.

Saint place for the Christians. Very nice, massive pice of history. Located near the Basilica of Saint John Lateran, the Sanctuary houses the Sancta Sanctorum, the old chapel of the Popes where you can worship the image of the Holy Saviour and the Holy Stairs.According to an ancient Christian tradition, in 326, the Holy Stairs were was transported from Jerusalem to Rome by the praetorium of Pilate at the behest of Empress Saint Helena, mother of Constantine.According to the same tradition, the 28 steps of the Holy Stairs are precisely the same ones that Jesus climbed several times on the day of his death sentence in the palace of Pontius Pilate. Hence the name of Scala Pilati or Scala Sancta.Initially, the stairs were in the Patriarchium, the complex of the Lateran Palaces, and the ancient seat of the Popes. It was Pope Sixtus V Peretti who, in 1589, had them moved to the current building and had four flights of stairs built by the architect Domenico Fontana, with the Scala Santa in the center. Every Friday of Lent, it is customary to go up the steps of the Holy Stairs on your knees praying as an act of devotion to relive the passion of Christ and ensure plenary indulgence from sins. At the top of the last step, protected by a massive railing, is the ancient private oratory of the Popes, at least until the Renaissance: the Chapel of San Lorenzo in Palatio, called the Sancta Sanctorum for the many relics of saints that it keeps. This beautiful chapel was enriched and embellished over time by various popes. Pope Nicholas III was responsible for the current arrangement with the precious frescoes painted by the 13th-century Roman school, the completion of the mosaic above the altar, and the beautiful floor in Cosmatesque style. On the wall behind the altar is the Holy Saviour Acheropìta “Acheropita” (not painted by human hands), depicted while sitting on the throne with his right-hand blessing and the scroll of the Gospel in his left. The millenary icon is among the most loved and revered symbols in the world.Under the papal altar, is the ark that houses the treasure and the relics of the Sancta Sanctorum.

This church happened to be close to our hotel. I had read about it as one of the best kept secret places you can’t miss when you go to Rome. It was a very spiritual experience for me. My son and I both went up the stairs on our knees. Going up isn’t that bad. The issue was so many people were ahead of us, and they were struggling to get up, so it backed up the rest of us. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to climb. But we stopped moving for a while as those towards the top needed a rest. It means we ALL had to stop and wait. That is the only time my knees complained- while I wasn’t moving. Ugh. I recommend going when not busy, early morning best. Last afternoons are busy times. It’s free to access the steps but you see inside the church you need a ticket. It’s a very small nominal fee for admission. It helps to maintain the church and free admission to the steps. Consider making a donation if you elect only the step to climb.
Lisa G — Google review
This was a splendid experience and out of the world experience. There are two entrances 1) Who wish to kneel and. Limb up the stairs 2) Who climbed up the stairs with their feet. Kneeling down and climbing up was a whole different experience. We also got an opportunity to touch the drop off Jesus blood which was encased in a glass. This steps are of actually marble covered with wood. Imagine being able to Kneel on thw very steps that Lord Jesus walked while going to Pontiius Pilate. If you are visiting Rome you must complete this experience. It's simply out of this world

The atmosphere at The Pontifical Sanctuary of the Holy Stairs is serene, allowing for quiet contemplation and reflection. An information desk is available for requesting any necessary information. A souvenir shop is available in premises at the commencement of exit stairs. Location access for differently abled personal is available. Parking for vehicles is available. The visitors are required to wear modest attire; clothes that cover shoulders and knees. Outside the premises, there is a small souvenir shop of Italy and a small snack shop. Whether you are a devout pilgrim or a curious traveler, visiting the Holy Stairs is an unforgettable experience because climbing the Holy Stairs, believed to be the same steps Jesus ascended during his Passion, is a profoundly moving experience.

Mercato di Vieste is a bustling marketplace offering a wide array of local products and souvenirs at reasonable prices. Visitors can explore stalls selling fresh fruit, cheese, olives, pasta, oils, spices, and more. The market provides a vibrant shopping experience with friendly vendors eager to showcase their goods. While prices may be slightly higher than those in the Old Town stalls, the convenience and variety make it a worthwhile visit for those seeking authentic local items.
Excellent market for fresh fruit and local pastas, oils, spices. Friendly traders trying their best to push their wares in English for our benefit. Prices may be a little higher than the Old Town stalls, but convenience is included here.

Tipical place for tourists. You will find some good products but also unfresh food - be carefull with burrata - we bought some for Eur 6 (Eur 12 per kilo) and it was not fresh. Look for the local market nearby at the parking lot - ask localsfor Pesce Mercato.

Wow, this place is amazing!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with an extra large balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was great having a kitchen to prepare meals. The employees were kind and friendly. Mr. Michele was the best! He was so helpful, kind, and always had a smile. The amenities were great, especially for those with children. The beach is an easy walk across the street. The beach was beautiful! This is the best place to stay in Vieste! Highly recommend!

Pizza restaurant
Pizzeria - Creperia - Carpe Diem is a fantastic family-run restaurant in Vieste, known for its delicious paposcia, especially the "chiancarella" topped with oil and oregano. Visitors rave about the shrimp and cocktail sauce option, describing it as truly spectacular. The staff is praised for being nice, kind, and attentive. Guests appreciate the affordable prices and express their intention to revisit on their next trip to Vieste.
I had twice super delicious paposce with octopus. Crunchy, fresh paposce with perfectly seasoned octopus. Highly recommended.

The perfect pizza place for small money. And I’m talking shmol small money. 4€ for a pizza marinara and 5€ for a Margherita??? That’s insane. And it’s not because quality is bad. Nu-uh it’s literally the best pizza I’ve had here in Italy so far. Definitely recommend visiting the place!
Jinn — Google review
It was our first time visiting Vieste and found this place by chance. We all enjoyed the freshly prepared food that was brought out to our table! Very delicious! The salmon dish was especially tasty! The staff was very patient with our lack of the Italian language. Thanks for helping to make our experience in Vieste a positive one!

(Translated by Google) Absolutely Satisfied. I bought pizzas and paposce, with home delivery in a somewhat internal and difficult to find place (Scialara district), punctual delivery with products still steaming. Very good pizza and the same for the paposcia, fair price. Staff also helpful and friendly. I absolutely recommend it. (Original) Assolutamente Soddisfatto.
Antonio Z — Google review
(Translated by Google) Absolutely dissatisfied! I stop in this pizzeria quickly to get some take-away food and the guy is bold saying that the paposcia takes 5 minutes but it takes 20 (if I had known I would have taken something else since I was in a hurry and I had the little girl in the car double rowed in the sun crying!) (Original) Assolutamente insoddisfatta!

Seafood restaurant
I visited Lido Marilupe for dinner towards the end of the season and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was casual and our server was very friendly and accommodating. The cuisine was exceptional, particularly the daily pasta special. The seafood options were delicious and made with fresh ingredients. In addition, the bill came out to be quite reasonable, costing around $40 for two people. I highly recommend Lido Marilupe!
We went there for a late dinner at the end of the season and had an amazing experience. The place is relaxed and the waiter was really nice and helpful. The food was outstanding, especially the pasta of the day. The seafood was tasty and fresh. At the end the check was also quite low around 40€ for the two of us. Highly recommended!
Noemi C — Google review
Simple restaurant with simple service but delicious food and very large portions. My 6 and 9 year old boys shared a trocolli Marilupe and were satisfied. We ate here 3 or 4 times. Compliments to the kitchen. I must lower my rating as the restaurant refused to make sandwiches to go, even when the restaurant was empty.
Geoffrey C — Google review
It could be a 5 stars review but the chef is a disgusting person who doesn't know what good manners are, especially if you are from hotels around. Staff at the coffe counter are very welcoming but the chef knows how to ruin a dream holiday. On the beach people are smoking, in Italy that's illegal. Not recommended.

(Translated by Google) I stayed for a week with my family. The beach wasn't particularly well-maintained, with showers and foot baths filled with piles of sand on the floor. Basically, you rinsed your feet and then re-dirtied them in the sand. Trash cans located near the lifeguards or in the middle of the beach, near the platform, could have been very useful for disposing of waste, as they wouldn't have forced many people to use the bins on the public beach next door. Lunch at the beach requires reservations, including sandwiches. However, perhaps a notice at the bottom of the sandwich menu would have been helpful to inform customers that sandwiches were made-to-order only. Some people came at lunchtime thinking they could eat, but it wasn't possible to prepare even a sandwich because the beach was struggling with table service. Friendly and helpful staff. Staff cordiale e gentile.

Restaurant
Located in Vieste, Italy, Ristorante Al Dragone offers creative Italian seafood dishes in a stylish setting inside a cave. The restaurant is known for its specialty flambé dishes and provides a unique dining experience. Visitors can enjoy the charming atmosphere of the restaurant, which is situated near the cliffs and offers open-air seating with candlelight.
Every time I visit Vieste, I make it a point to dine at Al Dragone, and it never disappoints. The restaurant is located in the heart of the city, a perfect spot to enjoy a meal after exploring the charming streets of Vieste. Al Dragone is a truly authentic restaurant with its own unique charm and character. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the combination of traditional decor and elegance creates a memorable dining experience. It’s a place where you can really feel the local spirit. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. The food here is simply outstanding. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the pasta is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Each dish is bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For the main course, they offer incredible options like flambeed prawns or flambeed beef fillet, which are prepared right in front of you, adding a touch of theater to your meal. We also enjoyed a lovely selection of local wines. To top it all off, the desserts are divine, all homemade and absolutely delicious. For me, no trip to Vieste is complete without dining at Al Dragone. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic and delightful meal in the heart of this beautiful city!

Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, best service! Their take on crepes suzette is worth it. So are the gamberotti flambé. A delicious experience, just a notch under very very best. Deserves a michelin star (not just a Bib gourmand).
Jorge S — Google review
A very nice change of ambiance and palette from the majority of eateries in Vieste. This upscale restaurant offers elevated modern Italian cuisine. It's elegantly designed but a bit too stuffy in the summer due to the fact that it's inside a cave, however it's a unique setting and would surely be a cozy refuge in colder weather. The food was very good, notably the raw seafood platter and the green peppercorn steak were wonderful. Excellent selection of local wines from the best wineries in Puglia. Service was fantastic.
Adam H — Google review
A magic location inside the core of Vieste between the amazing streets. Everything was good, the path suggested on the menu is a trip between the most interesting ingredients of that city. There are small things to improve in the services but in general I think the pictures can explain everything.
Marco L — Google review
A unique dining experience in a medieval cave! We would categorize it more as fine dining. The dishes were rather small portions but everything tasted wonderful and fresh. The servers were very personable and attentive. The semi-freddo desert was magical. We highly recommend it!
Alina M — Google review
Attentive service, though overstaffed and thus a bit „too close“ to the tables. Solid menu, outstanding quality of ingredients. We had the tartare di tonno (extremely fresh with highest quality olive oil), the tuna steak (à point), the orecchiette con cime di rapa (not the best we have had so far) and a very good ricotta tarte with mandorle. Very good wine list. The restaurant is rock-cut, a natural grotto which makes for a very special location.
Lars P — Google review
Had a bad experience with an oyster that was not fresh which gave me food poisoning, so wouldn't recommend it. The cooked dishes seemed good, and the atmosphere quite pleasant. The service was great (but could have been quicker considering it was not full).

Spiaggia di Vignanotica is a stunning pebble beach nestled under a towering limestone cliff in the remote and tranquil region of Gargano, Puglia. The turquoise waters contrast beautifully against the stark white cliffs, creating a picturesque backdrop. Visitors can relax on the pebble and sand beach, snorkel in the clear waters, or explore nearby caves such as Grotta dei Colombi and Grotta dei Sogni.
One of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, accessible by car. Clear water, small pebbles. There are not many people (we were in July), apart a short rush from boats between 10 am and noon. You can swim here all day long, hiding from the sun in caves. But watch out for rocks falling from the cliffs!

This beach was amazing. Limestone cliffs line the beach. The beach itself consists of small smooth rocks and pebbles. Sandals are helpful. Food at the beach bar was pretty good. A bit of a hike down and I could see it being very crowded in peak season

Lovely beach, spectacular cliffs and scenery. Pebble beavh so recomend beach shoes. Of open, drive all the way to the end of the road where there is a parking lot.

The reviews that say this beach is great are right. I shouldn’t give it away, to keep it a hidden gem, but gosh it was great. Beautiful spot. The walk from the parking and back and the €10 parking fee were worth it! Just check out the pictures…. Stunning and with bars and toilets available (as well as shower and beach mattresses for a fee ‘cos nothing is for free)… but worth it. Oh and pet friendly!!! If you don’t like cats and dogs, don’t go there!
Julie K — Google review
We arrived at 9.15 to the beach. Beatyfull, only few people, quiet, clear water, pure nature. BUT: at 9.30 diesel motor boats started to come to the beach; in 30 minutes more than 25 boats - each boat it is approx 100 persons on the deck. In half an hour 2500 people appeared on the beach. Can you imagine? Can you feel it? Unbelievable!! Horrible experience. The miracle disappeared- crowd, shouting, crying and this smoke from diesel motors!! You will not find it in any description of vignanotica beach.... please be aware

Spiaggia di Portogreco is a hidden gem that requires a bit of effort to reach, as it’s accessible only by foot after a short hike through the woods. The path is well-trodden, making the journey manageable for most visitors. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by a small and clean pebble beach surrounded by stunning cliffs that provide ample shade in the afternoon.
The beach is accessible only by foot, a five minute walk through the woods. The path is well beaten. We parked the car off the road as we could not find a parking. The beach is very small and clean. A small eatery serves at the beach, but it was closed in March 2019.

beautiful, not too crowded unless a boat or two land with 30 people. About 10 minutes walk from the road (fairly steep but not difficult) in a cool forest. A stand sells drinks and sometimes grilled fishes unless the owner has been chased by the carabinieri !
Pascal S — Google review
We were looking forward to this place a lot and after arriving even at around 16h, a man with a big belly asked for a 5€ fee for parking saying that it’s for supervising the area. And I was parked at the road side… It doesn’t even look legal at all and of course, he wasn’t supervising the cars because he wasn’t even there when we got back to ours just an hour later. They blocked the other entry points so everyone has to go through his ‘checkpoint’ . What a ruin to our vacation. Some people managed to get in without paying so best to get there without getting seen by this guy. But seriously, if not even legal, someone please report him!

Outdoor Activities
Spiaggia di Baia di Campi is a hidden gem that captivates visitors with its stunningly clear waters and unique pebble beach. The shoreline, adorned with colorful pebbles, gently slopes into the sea, creating an inviting atmosphere for sunbathers and swimmers alike. Accessing this enchanting bay requires a bit of effort; you'll need to navigate a steep path from the road down to the beach, so sturdy footwear is highly recommended.
Excellent beach with crystal clear water and small pebbles Great beach bar vert good for swimming
Dusan J — Google review
Quiet beach out of season. Be aware campsite is closed and seems dogs are guarding it, wouldn’t advise taking your dog to this beach out of season.
Evie E — Google review
The beach itself is great, but getting to it is a quest. For some reason the camping park blocks the way through its territory, although there is a lot of empty space that could make money as parking. It must be along the road, and with risk for life to climb the slope, a normal road I would not call it.
Eugene M — Google review
The beach has 2 different ends, one with sand (close to the restaurant) and one with small pebbles (close to the canoe rental), swimming and snorkeling is certainly a pleasure. The camp itself is degrading over time as all facilities are still the same as 10 years ago (you can read the negatives on Park4Night) and the customer service is only average (between 1-4pm you can not get your spot assigned but residents are moving in and out in the same time frame; front row place assignment is a little bit undisciplined and depending on moods)
Wim B — Google review
It's fantastic found places where the people respect the enviroment. The beach Is clean and you can find time to enjoy it's wilderness. I suggest to visit the caves conoeing. Beautiful sunrises.
Digital P — Google review
Great, relatively easy to access with much space to relax. Possibility to rent canoas to enjoy the cliffs and caves around the area.
Alice P — Google review
Honestly? A bad beach. Super windy and fully shaded by 3pm People who visit this beach are the worst kind, who leave their chairs and umbrellas in a spot for hours. The whole day we were there we never saw the owners. But the worst part is the utter lack of consideration and respect for the safety of lives to get to this beach and it really gave me a bad taste in my mouth. It's also discrimating to those who have accessibilty needs. The camp ground need to re-think their plan before someone gets killed by speeding cars or falling down the steep cliff edge. It will be their fault otherwise. We only went here because we prefer pebble beaches to sand but I do not reccommend for the reasons above. We refused to spend our money at the restaurant and bar here. Urge you to avoid.

Spiaggia di Castello is located to the south of Punta San Francesco and is characterized by a long stretch of beautiful white sand. The beach is adorned with stunning white limestone cliffs in the background, creating a picturesque setting. At its northern end stands the impressive 25-meter high rock known as Pizzomunno, which holds a legendary tale of eternal love. While the area near Pizzomunno may be crowded, venturing further along the beach offers more seclusion.
Amazingly beautiful beach, with the white limestone cliffs in the background. The legend which belongs to the 25-meter high rock of Pizzomunno is about eternal love and a bit sad. <3

Nestled in the charming town of Vieste, Borgo Antico is a delightful trattoria that offers stunning sea views from its terrace. This unpretentious eatery specializes in fresh seafood dishes, including mussels, squid, and delectable seafood pasta. Just a short stroll from Chianca Amara and conveniently located near the bustling streets of Borgo Antico di Vieste, it’s an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.
Beautiful view of Vieste lighthouse from outdoor deck! Cozze (mussels) so delicious. Taggiloni pasta with shrimp and pistachio pesto, must try! Highly recommend this restaurant the staff attentive and courteous.

The reason for the 4 stars is because the glass was dirty with lipstick. The server bought a clean glass. He was not happy about the glass being dirty. Am sure someone is going to get a Yelling. It was the best pizza so far during our time to Italy. Stuff happens. The food and service were outstanding.
Hugh H — Google review
Restaurant with lovely outdoor seating. Good service, reasonable price. Had the risotto.
Jo T — Google review
Bad. The food was horrible. The pizza was soggy and bland, the fried calamari tasted like nothing and the pasta I ordered was undercooked and hard to chew. The prices are too high for the amount of food/price ratio - I paid 16,50€ for my pasta with octopus and the amount was shockingly tiny (I also expected at least a small tentacle of the octopus but I got just a few tiny bits and a tiny bit of cheese on top). !!there are definitely way better restaurant with nicer views than this one to spend your money in!! Spend your money in a nicer restaurant with tastier food.
DavidZ — Google review
It can barely cope in peak season but the stuff is efficient and professional. Pricey at €10-15 for a pasta, €15-20 for meat fish. We ordered one fish for two and paid €48 just for it!! It was good though.
Laura L — Google review
The pizza was disappointing; small in dimension but heavy. The base and tomato sauce were insipid, there was too much mozzarella, and in the case of the Siciliana you couldn't taste the caciocavallo, and the aubergines were tasteless and looked raw.
Chalice M — Google review
We had a breakfast included with our room here which was a pretty good buffet with a view down to the port. Watch out for ‘il Pinguino’ as he’s rude and really brings an unpleasant energy to the start of the day! He is the reason for my 2 star rating
Greg P — Google review
We booked a table for three and asked for a gluten free pizza in advance. Everything was in order when we arrived and table was reserved under the main marquee. All pizzas were good, including the gluten free one, actually the gluten free dough was very good. We also had a draught beer and a gluten free one, a nice detail. A pleasant dinner and good service even if they were all very busy. Price looked reasonable. I'm not giving 5 stars because I ate better pizzas cooked in wooden fire ovens, and they taste better. However for celiac people this location is highly recommended and make sure to book the gluten free pizza half day or one day in advance.

The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, also known as the Cathedral of Vieste, is a stunning example of 11th-century Apulian-Romanesque architecture. Situated in the upper area of Vieste's medieval town near the Swabian castle, this Roman Catholic cathedral boasts a Baroque bell tower and wooden statues. The cathedral was built to honor the Assumption of Mary and features a basilica plan with a nave and two aisles.
Peaceful and Historic Gem in Vieste A beautiful cathedral tucked away in Vieste’s old town—quiet, elegant, and full of history. The mix of Romanesque and Baroque styles is stunning, and the atmosphere inside is peaceful and reflective. It’s a short walk from the main streets, and definitely worth a visit if you enjoy history, architecture, or just need a quiet moment. 🕍✨

Vieste is probably the nicest coastal city in this part of Puglia. If you're there you should visit. If you're not nearby and you skip it it's not a big loss. The streets are super narrow and the pointy part of land full of buildings is worth seeing.

Castello Svevo Aragonese, a historic military fortress in Brindisi, was commissioned by Emperor Frederick II in 1227. Situated on Liberty Street in the city's old quarter, it served as a protective stronghold for the town. (Translated by Google) The Swabian-Aragonese Castle of Vieste is undoubtedly a point of historical and tourist interest of great value, situated in a picturesque location. However, it is important to note that the castle is currently occupied by the Italian Navy and houses its equipment, severely limiting tourist access and visits. This situation is not always clear to visitors to Vieste, and can be disappointing for those expecting to be able to explore the castle freely. Therefore, those wishing to visit this site should keep these limitations in mind before planning their visit.

It can be reached by car, when the restricted traffic zone is not active, via a small road that goes up to the historic center, or by taking the pedestrian path passing between stairs and alleys and going up beyond the Cathedral. The monument from the outside appears well preserved, but it is difficult to say how much is admirable inside as the entire building is a military zone and becomes partially accessible only on some occasions, by booking guided tours. It could be done better from a tourist point of view.

Enoteca Vesta is a charming restaurant and wine bar located in a cave in the historic center of Vieste. From seafood dishes like spaghetti with sea urchins to local specialties such as chickpea troccoli, Enoteca Vesta provides an authentic gastronomic experience.
One of the best restaurants that I have visited in the last few months! Made just inside a large cavern, very nice decor. The food was just outstanding, great wine list. Inside the cellular signal does not work and no wifi available. I think it's great, so visitors can really enjoy the place, company and great food, without being distracted by the phones and social networks😁

One of the best meals of our holiday. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable about what wine would pair well with our meals, which dishes were in seasons, and explained the history of the cave and the restaurant which was very cool. The beef carpaccio was stunning and so flavorful. We split all the dishes and it was delicious and filling. The desserts are amazing especially the orange cake that's made in house. Highly recommend stopping by for a great meal in a very cool place.

Easily one of the best dinners we had in our road trip of Italy. Apart from the excellent food, a special mention should be made to the really beautiful and unique inside decoration, since the restaurant is located inside a rock cave-like space. The staff was really amazing and created a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, nothing reminding stuffy and formal restaurants. As you can tell from the name of the restaurant, they also have a great wine list. The owner recommended two different wines to have with out food, which were both excellent. As a matter of fact, we liked the first one so much that we bought a bottle when we were leaving. A special mention must be made to the homemade limoncello they offered with the dessert, which is probably the best I have tried. All in all, a great experience I would highly recommend!!

We ate at this restaurant on the recommendation of a fellow traveller who told us he had eaten there a week straight on his last visit to Vieste. Everything is spectacular - the food is representative of the local cuisine and delicious. The waiter was extremely attentive and answered all our questions, made recommendations and suggested side dishes to complete our meal. If you are looking for an authentic experience, a genuine restaurant and want a meal you will remember and talk about with a curated menu, this is your place. Bonus that the restaurant itself is gorgeous and the atmosphere lends itself to a long and happy stay. My favourite dining experience in all of Italy so far! I would order the cheese stuffed muscles once a week for the rest of my life if I could.

A True Gem Amidst the Touristy Buzz We stumbled upon Enoteca Vesta while navigating the more touristy parts of the city — and what an absolute find it turned out to be. The food here is exceptional, so much so that we went back a second time during our short stay. Every dish was beautifully prepared, packed with flavor, and clearly made with care. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Despite being quite busy both times we visited, the staff handled everything with grace and kindness. That said, it’s clear they could use an extra pair of hands — the team works hard and absolutely deserves the support to keep delivering at this level. If you’re looking for an authentic, high-quality meal away from the typical tourist traps, do yourself a favor and book a table here. Enoteca Vesta is the kind of place that makes you want to linger over dinner and return the very next night — just like we did.

Seafood restaurant
Located in Vieste, Italy, Ristorante Il Capriccio offers a unique dining experience with its bright space and terrace overlooking the harbor. The restaurant boasts a simple yet refined atmosphere, creating the sensation of dining amidst the sea. Adorned with natural materials like wood and wicker, the decor seamlessly blends with the surrounding environment. Guests can indulge in inventive seafood dishes infused with global flavors as well as traditional Apulian cuisine made from fresh ingredients.
As a lover of Italian – and especially Mediterranean – cuisine, I simply couldn’t miss the chance to dine at this restaurant. I started with Paccheri with pecorino cheese, pepper, and truffle, followed by a main course of mixed fried seafood and vegetables with beetroot sauce, and ended with a dessert called Tribute to the Femminiello lemon of Gargano – all beautifully complemented by a glass of quality white wine. Everything works perfectly in this place – the food was excellent, and so was the service. The staff spoke English and gave us a great introduction to each dish. The setting was calm and pleasant, enhanced by soft background music. We visited outside the main tourist season, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Next time I return to Vieste, I definitely won’t miss this place.

Not worth the hype. I’ve been to many restaurants and without a doubt this was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. From arrival to departure, you’d get better service just about anywhere, I only give 2 star for the food, which was nice, but didn’t live up to the price, hype or expectations. We’ve booked via The Fork (which they use) and on arrival I was told our reservation didn’t exist, and that they always have issues with The Fork - not my problem, don’t use it then? After much persistence we managed to get a table, but people in the same situation behind us didn’t, so dont use The Fork for booking if you must go, but honestly I highly recommend choosing another location to eat! The service was slow, inattentive and really careless. There’s slow and then there’s Il Capriccio. We’ve only managed to order after 45 min, and the wine arrived well after 1hour after we’ve been seated - whilst we saw the bucket just sitting on a waiter station for well over 20 min. Anything we needed, had to ask at least twice and were lucky if it ever arrived. Bread plates, 2 of our party never received them after several asks, from ashtray to wrong wine twice, I could go on and on. Our mains were served whilst we still had dirty plates from the starters, and we were expected to clear our own plates, I don’t mind if I’m paying €20 this was €300 dinner. There is one waiter for 60 covers, what on earth is the management of this restaurant thinking? That’s too much even for a cheap restaurant, let alone this. The food itself ranged from ok to great - but was it wonderful and warrant a return visit? Definitely not. We didn’t try the dessert as we couldn’t wait to get out of this restaurant. The setting though is beautiful right out into the marina, and it is really sad that it is wasted on this restaurant. The bill of course didn’t arrive, so we had to venture to the reception. Where a receptionist/manager acknowledged that the service was really bad herself and didn’t even say sorry. Tried blaming it on a the Fork, but darling, you don’t allocAte enough staff - what do you expect? It’s your fault, not the booking platform. I was incredibly disappointed with this experience, and the food sadly wasn’t enough to lift up the spirits and the experience. Avoid this restaurant, there are many more to choose from in the area and it can’t be worse than this, trust me .

We stopped at Il Capriccio for lunch and had a wonderful experience. We were seated right away and even got to choose where we wanted to sit. The service was excellent, very kind and patient with our two-year-old, which we really appreciated. We ordered the seafood pasta and an appetizer tasting plate with burrata and salami, everything was fresh and delicious. The view overlooking the harbor made it even more special, and with all the activity and entertainment around, it was the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful day. Highly recommend Il Capriccio for both the food and the atmosphere.

Its a Pizzaria that dont serve pizza in the restaurant, just by the bar outside of the by the beach which they cook in the restaurant. The waitress after not coming to take our order from almost an hour (the place was empty) send us to go outside and order the pizza and eat outside standing up. Had lunch today at the beach bar food that came out was not what was ordered on the second try, they got one right and the other wrong finally we get the food. On asking for olive oil and vinegar and salt and pepper small sachets of each turn up, we are in the olive oil capital of the country and this turns up, also all restaurants are now serving water in plastic cups. Not much hope for the environment when this happens, also there is a charge in Italy called coperto which is a cover charge of 2.5€ per person this entails the bringing of bread but the tables that had panini being bread rolls don't receive bread therefore don't pay the coperto its sad to say that when you see this it's probably because the country is sadly in decline. And by the way the food was nothing flash for 34€ two salads one bottle of still water and 2 x coperto.

We saw the €€ symbol and assumed that it is an average-priced restaurant. We were a little bit surprised by the prices while already sitting at the table. Well, the photos posted online looked great, "let's have a fine-dining evening" we then decided. But in my opinion the food and service didn't live up to their price tag, although the restaurant atmosphere was really nice. Only the starter with Iberian piglet in fluffy pastry was really good, whilst our second course dishes were so-so: the tuna steak was decent while the umbrina fish was almost cold and disappointingly tasteless (for 18€). We ordered grilled vegetables and french fries as side dishes. The vegetables were bland and not seasoned at all. Maybe we got spoiled in another - way cheaper - restaurant, where we had fantastic grilled vegetables the day before. The french fries tasted good. The waitress struggled with English communication but was friendly, one of the waiters just pulled away the starter plates while my cutlery fell down on the table, instead of asking me to put aside the cutlery, which I found quite rude in a restaurant with those price tags. Bottom line: * nice, but overpriced restaurant * food taste can vary strongly between dishes

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Desirèe imbarco Tour Grotte Marine. Not quite as popular as Trabucco di Punta San Francesco, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Desirèe imbarco Tour Grotte Marine is a top-notch boat excursion that stands out among the best in the world. The tour starts on time and offers English translation with excellent sound quality. The captain's skill in navigating small caves and maneuvering the long boat inside without any issues is commendable. Priced at only 25 Euros per person for a three-hour tour covering 22km of the coast, it's considered a great bargain.
We have been on boat excursions all over the world. This one is for sure one of the best, if not the best! We started on time, had translation in English with perfect sound quality. The Captain is the best we have had so far. He can manage the small caves and drive the long boat inside without issues. The price is a real bargain, only 25 Euros each for a three hour tour that goes along 22km of the coast. Choose the right side of the boat! You will see more! Arrive early at the pier as the line starts almost one hour before departure. If you arrive early you will be able to choose the best seats.

Really nice tour, well organised! Definitely recommended! One thing to be aware the boat has no shadows, make sure to wear an hat and take plenty of water with you!
Vanessa A — Google review
You have to arrive 1h before departure because otherwise you will only sit in the middle of the boat and will not have a good view. After a short break going off board one is even not allowed to change seat. In 3 hours we did not manage to take one good picture. Disappointing experience
Christoph B — Google review
What a perfect morning! We saw so many stunning beaches and natural caves and rock formations. The skipper was so professional, I can’t believe the right places he manoeuvred the boat into! The host spoke excellent English and shared some interesting stories and history. A must do in Vieste!
Leslee M — Google review
Great tour! The caves and the beauty of the coast speak for itself. Francesco’s way of guiding gave the tour another level of good entertainment. And it was an honour to be on a boat led by the safe hand of captain Graziano, son of the discoverer of the caves. The trip included a swimming stop at beautiful beach of Vignanotica. Highly recommended!
Agnieszka N — Google review
The best Sea experience in Vieste. See the coast and the wonderful caves from the Desiree motorboat was an Amazing goal!!
Matteo S — Google review
Had a great boat trip with them during off/low-season. We visited the main caves along the shore. The tour was guided in Italian and fluent English and information was provided about historical and cultural facts as well as about regional geology. The staff was very helpful. Sometimes it was a bit hard to understand the guide for acoustic reasons.
Nole C — Google review
Although the boat is the biggest in the harbor of all, we recommend doing this tour! Don't worry, they fit in all grottos perfectly! The guide and the boat crew is really fantastic. As a lot of people are Italian the main information is in Italian. But they also translate in an understandable English language! We got a special treatment and got some stuff explained personally by the guide! (Only 4 English visitors on the boat during the trip). We felt really welcomed and we're happy we did the tour with Desiree Team. The boat might be crowded, especially in COVID-19 times this might be frightening, but don't worry you are outside with a lot of wind.

Pizza restaurant
Located in the heart of the bustling town, La Viestana is a go-to spot recommended by locals for its delectable street bites. With an energetic ambiance, this eatery quickly became a daily favorite. The must-try item on their menu is the renowned "popocha" sandwich (apologies if misspelled). Alongside that, they serve one of the finest panzerottis in recent memory.
Something about grabbing delicious bites on the street, amongst the hustle and energy of the town. This spot was recommended to us by a couple of our local connections. Needless to say I ate here almost daily. My go-to order was their famous "popocha" sandwich (I definitely spelled that wrong).
Junior L — Google review
Good pizza and would recommend the paposche with mozzarella (it isn’t normally on the menu, so you can ask for it). Tables aren’t very comfy and best to come after 8pm because the road will be closed for cars, but it will be busy. Kids can play in the playground right next to the terrace.

Terrible cake. Separation of pizza layers is not acceptable in highly recommended pizzeria. Do not get fooled by positive google reviews. Wine served in plastic cups is a complete mistake. Despite we were 4 persons and ordered 2 pizzas to be served in halves we were given just two plates..

Mid quality food with a crazy owner yelling continuously. Grilled cheese was not well prepared and not melted. Pizza was average and price-wise there's better places in town

Pizzeria Notte e Dí is a great place to enjoy pizza and pasta. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. There is plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it a perfect spot for lunch or dinner. If you're looking for a pizza place that will make your mouth water, Pizzeria Notte e Dí is the perfect spot!
What a lovely place! The owner didn’t speak much English, or his wife, but it was good to practise my minimal Italian! Absolutely charming couple and accommodated my being gluten free very well. We could see the pizzas being made in the very clean kitchen, and were impressed! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this small gem of a place. A little away from the tourist areas but not far from the main hotel area.

Amazing Place. The workers were very cute and hospitable. the prices are very fair and you get sooooo much for your money. I have never tasted a better pizza in my life. they make their own gluten free dough. you can pay with card, but I recommend paying with cash. it helps them, and they deserve every single penny, if not even more :)

Looking for a place to indulge in the best pizza in town? Look no further than Pizzeria Notte e Di. My group of seven recently had a delightful dining experience, and we unanimously agreed that it serves the most delicious pizza we've ever had. The menu caters to all taste preferences, from vegan to salami, and every pie was mouth-watering. What's more, the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like a warm embrace. Do not miss out on this unforgettable pizza experience! Piètra Vieste is a charming pizzeria located in the old town of Vieste. The restaurant offers delicious Neapolitan-style pizza with unique toppings like pumpkin base and local cheese and meat. The atmosphere is described as lovely, with elegant decor and pleasant music. While it may be challenging to secure a table without a reservation, the experience is well worth it. The staff is helpful and accommodating, despite the menu being primarily in Italian.
Tucked in a small street of the old town of Vieste, this pizzeria does not disappoint! Managed to get a table outside with no reservation and it was absolutely amazing. The napolitain style pizza was really good, one of the best I’ve had, service was really fast, prices very reasonable, and the atmosphere of the area super chill and beautiful! I also really recommend getting the artisan beers they are so good

Amazing Pizza Experience in Vieste! We tried two special pizzas at this pizzeria, and both were absolutely delicious – bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and made with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great. If you're in Vieste, don’t miss this gem. Highly recommended!
Lauri — Google review
The place has a very nice antique vibe, so it makes for a wonderful romantic dinner atmosphere. There was a line when we went, so I’d recommend making a reservation if you can. The bruschetta was amazing and the pizzas did not disappoint. A great option for a dinner in the historic part of the city.

Delicious pizza. The good classic margarita test passed with flying colours and great range of unusual specials. Sat outside in the pretty little side street. Hope to return soon.

We were super lucky to get a table even without booking I'm advance. The place is lovely, elegantly decorated and with super pleasant music in the background. The staff is very helpful and try to speak English. The food is delicious. Their list of local Italian beers is worth a try. The service is very fast. Overall very satisfied with this place and can only recommend (note that it is more expensive than average restaurants). Just would like to have smaller bread around the pizza, so that I could have more flavour from the pizza itself. Also separate toilets for men and women would be appreciated.

Antichi Sapori is a family-owned restaurant that offers delicious seafood Poposce and sublime sandwiches, such as the mortadella one. The place is known for its famous "Paposcia," with options like pulpo and caciocavallo. The staff is kind and polite, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Customers appreciate the care put into preparing meals and the setting of a nice atmosphere. It's recommended for those looking for amazing food in a very nice place to have lunch.
Best pizza and best paposcia not only in Vieste but also in the whole Gargano region! This is a family run business with a lovely couple serving the best food you will find. The cippola (onion to fill the paposcia or to top the onion pizza) that she prepares is absolutely perfect and delicious. She is so kind that shared her recipe with me! I will try to reproduce at home but I think I am not going to be able to make something so delicious. This is the best place to go in Vieste, in my opinion. Also, they offer the most honest prices.

The brasserie Arcaroli is a lovely place to enjoy a delicious meal. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food, and the atmosphere is relaxing and stylish. The menu features Italian favourites such as pasta dishes, pizzas, salads, and desserts. There's also a good range of wine options available, and it's great for kids - they can't go wrong at Arcaroli!
A little silent space in paradise. We had lunch here and it was simply gorgeous. Staff is kind and fun, they speak all languages and the food is good (I speak as italian). 50 euros for a good meal, 2 big starters, one pasta, water, wine and coffees.
Sara M — Google review
Lovely little restaurant with great food. You get to dine in the old part of the town, very nice atmosphere. We had 3 starters: burratina, pepata di vongole and caciocavallo alla piastra. The latter two I would very much recommend, particularly the caciocavallo which is also a local cheese. The troccoli alle vongole veraci were delicious, though a little spicy (but that is the traditional recipe), but it's just something worth knowing if you don't eat spicy. The semifreddo al pistacchio was also good. Waiters were all nice, however service was slow. I think we just got a little unlucky with the time our order was placed as basically all the other tables got their order before us, so I assume they were waiting too and just had ordered before. This is the only reason I'm giving a full 5 stars. Otherwise very happy with it and would recommend.
Arianna P — Google review
We had a lot of spectacular meals during our months trip to Italy but this meal topped my list of favorite meals. At the owners suggestion I ordered an Oriente pasta dish topped with a velvety flavorful Spanish cheese, truffle sauce, finished with pistachio flakes. It literally bathes your palet in a dreamy smooth satisfying blend of simple yet distinct flavor. I followed up with a beautifully prepared filet in a green herbed peppercorn sauce. The owner also paired a complex susumienielo wine and complimentary Gelato. Don't miss this quiet spot if you are in Vieste.

Pizza was ok but nothing spectacular. Paposcias (typical stuffed pizza from the Gargano area) were bad. Both of them (classica and salmon) were served cold and burnt. The place is very informal and I would not recommend it for a relaxing or romantic dinner. Paper tablecloths and no cutlery. You are supposed to eat using your hands. I would not go again.

It is a good place to stop for a quick meal, or better to say to eat pizza because that is the speciality of Big boy. Pizza is perfect and delicious however You will not find there anything else beside appetizers, pizza and "paposce". Keep in mind that if You go there with more persons as choice is very limited. Big boy has little prices so ratio price/quality is high. I did not like plastic cups to drinks and no cutlery to pizza by default (not everyone like to eat wih hands).

Absolutely amazing location and the drinks aren’t ridiculously expensive in that context. But unfortunately we were ignored by the staff for half an hour and then interrogated by the head waiter whether we’d moved from another table (we hadn’t, he had seated us) and not brought any snack to go alongside the drinks despite everyone else in the place receiving them - maybe because we weren’t drinking alcohol(?), although the drinks were equally expensive. We tried to order some olives but this was rudely ignored.

The artichoke, prepared in four ways, was described as sensational. The dessert options were also highly praised. Guests enjoyed the cozy beach atmosphere and faultless service. The chef's attention to detail was evident through small plates offered throughout the meal, creating a unique tasting experience.
We had an amazing meal at Lido Vesta. During a crazy rain storm we were the only ones in the restaurant and the staff were both kind and very helpful. The meal was exceptional and I would highly recommend it. The ravioli was really nice as was the fish of the day which we shared.

The best fish dinner we had in Puglia! Top-quality seafood, expertly prepared by a skilled chef—rare to find this level of quality these days. Don’t be fooled by the traditional Lido-style appearance; the food is truly exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to the owners and staff for the unforgettable meal.

Very nice restaurant next to the beach specialized on fish and seafood. Delicious food and nice presentation. Service takes care and guarantees nice dinner. Would recommend if you‘re in Vieste. Reservation recommended.

The chef really takes care of his customers, with small plates being offered throughout the meal, becoming a tasting experience. I especially loved the semifredo of pistachio. We stayed by the sea and the whole atmosphere and the staff made it a very special moment.

Nice restaurant with a sea view and very pleasant staff. Tasty but v expensive. The cheapest dish €19, small portions.

Some typical dishes presented in not typical ways...kind of nouvelle cuisine art. Good.

Go here! We had dinner here and the food and service were amazing. You’ll have dinner on the beach, atmosphere is cozy and nice. It’s way better than your regular Vieste restaurant. Big compliment to the chef for the wonderful and tasteful food. Andre was our waiter and he explained everything very well, gave good food and wine suggestions too. Had a great evening. Highly recommend this!
Tommy T — Google review
This is a fish restaurant, and my 2 first courses were just superb - cooked to absolute perfection, and utterly delicious.. My vegetarian wife was equally well catered for, with delicious seasonal dishes.. the artichoke, cooked 4 ways was sensational... Dessert was also delicious - my wife said her chocolate fondant was one of the best ever... Even the service was faultless... I thoroughly recommend this restaurant...

Heritage museum
Located on Via Pola, Museo Malacologico Vieste is a renowned museum dedicated to seashells, boasting an impressive collection of over 14,000 specimens from around the globe. The museum is open from April to September and offers free admission. Visitors can explore the fascinating world of malacology through captivating displays that showcase the beauty and diversity of marine life preserved in shells.
It’s a different museum of its own type. A marvelous collection of sea shells. Kids also enjoyed it a lot and bought some star fish and shells. They also have jewelry made with shells or stones etc.(beautiful but expensive 😉)
Ms. U — Google review
Wonderful small museum with free entrance displaying all kinds of shells, corals, etc with legends in English as well. A really nice place to spend some time getting to know how many marvelous creatures are there in our oceans. We went on the evening and they were opened. It’s a real cute place to visit while you are in Vieste.

(Translated by Google) The Shell Museum is a little gem, perfect for visiting with children. Admission is completely free, a huge plus, and you can contribute a small fee of €1 to take photographs inside. The collection is truly curious and fascinating: countless shells of different shapes and colors, from around the world. Children are enchanted by the unusual sizes and unique features of some specimens, while adults appreciate the variety and care with which they are displayed. It's not a very large museum, so a visit doesn't take too long (ideal with children), but it's well-organized with simple, clear explanations. Inside, there's also a small corner where you can purchase souvenirs or themed items, without being intrusive or excessive. Overall, it's a pleasant, educational, and light-hearted experience, which enriches the visit with a touch of natural wonder. Highly recommended for families and curious visitors of all ages.

Located at the tip of an eastern promontory in a charming town, Trabucco di Punta San Francesco is a historic fish trap next to the ancient monastery Chiesa di San Francesco. Although it's not in the best condition, it offers fantastic views of the sea and is part of a well-signposted walking route through the town. The area also features a beautiful cliffside church and retains its romantic charm despite being still in use.
Nice experience with friendly people, I felt like in a family in a few minutes. They explain the ancient art of using trabucco with a fantastic aperitif. Thanks to Michele, Luigi and the boss Lepre.
Marco L — Google review
Amazing views of the city and the port of Vieste from here. I'd suggest climbing a bit further to get the most amazing view of the sea.
Alexander K — Google review
There was no shortage of fun and convivial moments: The view at sunset is fabulous and the fishing test and the explanation of how to fish is very interesting and conveys all the passion of those who still work as trabuccoliers to keep these trabuccos alive which are an unmissable historical memory. Here at this point in the city below the church you can easily see one of these up close - together with the beautiful square and the picturesque view now it is possible to visit it, live the experience of fishing and have an aperitif with wine and typical products. The trebuchet located in the historic part of Vieste is accessible with a small path on the rocks even with small children and a stroller.

Nestled by the picturesque port of Vieste, Skipper is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Renowned for its incredible seafood and pasta dishes, this bustling eatery often draws crowds eager to savor its fresh offerings. Guests rave about the raw seafood platter and delectable ravioli with tomato sauce, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to quality. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that every visit feels special.
Excellent almost everything, the only thing that needs to be improved is about the coffe machine, last year was the same issue, the waitress mentioned that it was broken. (I guess that it’s an excuse, but the coffee after an impeccable service and food has to be made. Anyway You deserve a 5 stars

Great service and amazing food! We had Chef’s Soup with beans and shrimps and it was delicious. We tried different pizzas: Diavola, 4 formagio and wurst pizza - all of them were very tasty! Homemade white wine - highly recommend! Great service and nice ambience.

I have never left a review before. But this restaurant merits 5+. I’ve been told in business. It’s very hard to achieve quality, speed of service and customer service. At this restaurant they have achieved all of this. I went there twice and each time the food was delivered very quickly by a friendly owner and delicious. Claudio and his son deliver amazing food and a great price.

Great place to Visit while in Vieste. Great views and lovely food. We had a traditional pasta troccolo garganico and 4 stagioni pizza. Food presentation was great, pasta was delicious and full of flavours, however the pizza is falling shortly due to lack of flavours and competition around offers much better pizza for the same price or cheaper. Aperol spritz was delicious and refreshing, all what you need for a hot day's like this.

Ristorante Pizzeria PARADISEA offers a mix of experiences. While some visitors have encountered disorganized service, others have found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. The location is within walking distance from Vieste's center and close to the renowned Pizzomunno site, making it a convenient stop for tourists. The rustic interior adds to its charm, creating a cozy atmosphere for diners.
Visited during the winter. The location is at an enjoyable walking distance from the center of Vieste along the coast line and very near to the famous Pizzomunno site. The interiors furnitures are rustic but homy. Staff was kind and smiley. TV was a bit loud. But most importantly Pizza was excellent!! I would reccomend it for a pleasing dinner.

Tasty food but disorganised service on the night I went. 20 minutes to order drinks and starters took over an hour to arrive. I wasn't the only table waiting a long time. However the place was full so it must appeal to some. Hope they can improve their service as the food was good. UPDATE. Went back the following evening at opening time and the service was fine. Food was still as tasty so upgrading to 4 star. Perhaps first experience was a one off.

(Translated by Google) It's a pizzeria outside the center of Vieste, nothing more, with excellent pizza but nothing else to report. Mediocre lasagna and €16 troccoli allo scoglio with 3 mussels, 1 clam, 1 shrimp, and 2 squid fillets. The pizza is good if eaten hot. The wait at the door to see if there are tables is really unpleasant. The service needs to be improved. The €3.50 change, given only with a €20 bonus, is trivial. We tried the well-known paposcia at Il Pizzicotto dal 1984, a small eatery recommended by some patrons for its outdoor seating. This stuffed pizza dough, filled with cooked rocket grana and mozzarella, was truly delicious and reasonably priced at 9. The beer selection included the slightly expensive ichnusa in a 50cl size. Overall, Il Pizzicotto dal 1984 offers a tasty menu that has been satisfying customers since 1984.
Nice place, very easy style but still it will satisfy your willing to enjoy street food by feeling yourself to be in a comfort zone. It actually frequented by local people which is definitely a plus.

Great expectations, not met. We went twice. The first time the panzerotto was good, the second time tasted too much of "older" oil and was heavier. Too little filling as well. The service from the lady was super stressed and nervous. Waiting time was way tooooo long. There were NO customers before and we waited 31 minutes for 2 panzerotti, not acceptable.

Restaurant
Nestled in the historic center of Vieste, also known as "Vieste Vecchia," Vecchia Vieste Ristorante Tipico offers a chic dining experience within a medieval-era setting. The restaurant serves elevated regional cuisine and a selection of fine wines in a stone-walled ambiance. The ancient village of Vieste Vecchia boasts its original medieval charm with irregular alleys, picturesque squares overlooking the sea, and terraced houses connected by small arches.
Excellent, excellent experience! I can't say enough about how good a choice this restaurant was. Every bit of food, from antipasta to desert was some of the best we've ever had. The service was impeccable, very attentive and the waiter made an excellent wine suggestion! Couldn't have been better!

We ate here based on The Lonely Planet recommendation. The Orecchiette was amazing as Lonely Planted stated. The lobster carpaccio was good but over priced for the amount of food. The blue was fabulous as was the pistachio sauce however the sauce over powered the perfectly cooked tuna. Overall the food is good as is the service.
John H — Google review
very good food and service, fresh fish and attention, the swordfish was a nice surprise. A bit too small and spaces too crowded, people and staff would be continuosly passing by next to our table, including those paying the bill as my chair was just 30 cm from the cashier. Recommended but try to get a good and quite table out of the way

Charming restaurant with an exclusive romantic atmosphere in the old town with quality, fantastic food.
