Partnachklamm, located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is a narrow and picturesque gorge featuring waterfalls and a walkway, making it a popular destination for hikers. During winter, torch hiking tours are available in the area, offering an exciting way to experience the beauty of the gorge. The 703m long and 80m high Alpine wonder provides breathtaking views of spraying waterfalls, rapids, and calm basins.
A Must-Visit for Nature Lovers! 💚🏞️ Partnachklamm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited — truly a wonder created by nature. If you ever get the chance, this place is an absolute must-visit! I wish I could go there again. The whole experience feels magical. The stunning gorge, the flowing river, and the natural ambience — it’s honestly hard to describe in words. You’ll be walking along the riverbanks, and much of the path runs through tunnels where it feels like it’s raining inside. It’s such a unique and refreshing feeling. A quick tip: If you can handle the cold, it’s better to wear shorts or something you can easily fold up. The pathway can get wet, and your clothes might get dirty by the time you exit the gorge. But if you’re sensitive to cold, make sure to carry a jacket with you. If you love nature, adventure, and breathtaking views, you’re definitely going to love this place!

A must visit for all people who like walking though nature. This place is amazing and so beautiful. U walk through it and wonder how nature works and see that if u leave nature to itself it does amazing things. People with wheelchair, strollers and people with walking handicap will have a hard time walking though here. Also when u go through the gorge is good to have a flash light, waterproof clothing and hiking booth.
Mary L — Google review
Beautiful experience! The Partnachklamm is very well maintained and easy to follow, with clear paths and a nicely mapped route through the gorge. It’s a relatively easy hike. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, but the scenery more than makes up for it. After exiting the gorge, there are plenty of hiking trails to choose from if you’d like to continue exploring. Highly recommended!

Amazing place, gorgeous. Nature is impressive and the power of water is very obvious here. Some parts are rather dark though, so maybe bring a torch or just use your mobile phone for lighting. The paths are narrow in some parts but seeing that there wasn't too much going on, it was not a problem. I can imagine that it might be bothersome on busy day.

Visiting Partnachklamm – Beautiful, But Overpriced Partnachklamm (Partnach Gorge) is undeniably a natural wonder and a must-see if you're in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. The gorge is stunning, with its narrow passageways, towering limestone walls, and the sound of rushing water echoing through the canyon. It's an impressive display of raw natural beauty that photographers and nature-lovers will absolutely appreciate. However, the experience does come with a downside: the entrance fee. At €10 per adult (as of 2025), it feels steep for what is essentially a short, 700-meter walk through the gorge. While the path is well-maintained and safety measures are clearly in place, the high price doesn’t quite match the duration or complexity of the attraction. There's no guided experience included, and facilities are fairly basic. If you're traveling with a family or on a budget, the cost can add up quickly. It would be more reasonable if the ticket included access to nearby trails or some additional interpretive content about the geology and history of the gorge. In short: Pros: Stunning scenery, unique experience, easily accessible. Cons: Short walk, crowded during peak hours, and overpriced for what you get. Worth visiting once, especially if you've never seen a gorge like this before — but be prepared to pay more than you'd expect for a brief nature walk.
Virgiele C — Google review
It’s a beauty. Observing the gorge and the surrounding was a very nice adventure. Obviously it might get a bit crowded especially on the weekends but the beauty wouldn’t allow anything to interfere. There is also a very nice hike route right after the gorge. Totally recommend.
Ali — Google review
Amazing experience walking along the catwalk and carved path through this glacial slot canyon! The water is clear and tinted ice-blue, rushing, and slicing through space that seems only a few feet wide, while you walk through cavernous tunnels and under overhangs. And then, coming out the other side, you get to walk back above and over it all! What a fun hike!! Just be prepared for some steep walking with good shoes, water, and a flashlight for those dark sections!
Brian B — Google review
An unusual gorge. I've been to many, but this one is very interesting. There are many sections where you simply walk through a narrow tunnel right in the cliff. A lot of people. Obviously, this place is very popular.

Ravine
Partnach Gorge, located along the Partnach River, is a stunning natural wonder with waterfalls and river rapids. To reach this beautiful place, you can take a train from Munich central station to Garmisch Partenkirchen and then a bus to the stadium before walking for about 10 minutes to the entrance. The trail through the gorge is relatively easy and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding environment.
Posting late, but we were here in winter, and luckily the Gorge was open. Absolutely beautiful and cool experience walking through the tunnels / gorge and really wonderful hike and scenery in the surrounds. The ice and snow just made it special and surreal. No crowds whatsoever...it was like we had the place to ourselves
Monica R — Google review
Great experience and view ! Tickets is for one time only entrance! At end you can walk on and take 2 alternative routes back to ' Ski resort'. Left(45 min) or right (1 1/2 hour). Both is a hike up hill at first
Andries B — Google review
Superb experience. I am definitely returning in winter to experience the icicles. Make sure to have waterproof gear as it’s decently wet while inside. You walk primarily under mini waterfalls. Combine the gorge walk with more hiking (trails start at exit) and it will be a full day in nature. The gorge on its own is a very short trek. Going at opening is recommended to avoid the huge crowds.

🌟🌲 Magical Day at Partnachklamm – Adventure for the Whole Family! 🌲🌟 What an unforgettable day! We kicked things off in style—took the gondola up to the top, which already felt like the start of a fairy tale. The views were breathtaking, and the fresh mountain air had everyone smiling (and hungry 😄). The kids had a blast at the Spielplatz—honestly, it was hard to pull them away! But the promise of Schnitzel and a cold Bier at the cozy Gaststätte nearby did the trick 🍺🍽️. Total win for parents and kids alike. Then came the real adventure: the descent through the forest, winding across wooden and steel hanging bridges, following the trail down toward the gorge. As we entered Partnachklamm, it truly felt like stepping into Middle-earth—dark tunnels, roaring water, moss-covered cliffs… all we were missing was a hobbit guide! The path through the gorge was exciting but totally manageable—2hrs perfectly fine for kids over 7 (ours were in awe, not scared!). And once we emerged into the valley, the river calmed and we could stroll along peacefully, taking in the beauty. 📸 Pro tip: bring a rain jacket for the gorge—it gets splashy in the best way! All in all, a perfect mix of fun, nature, food, and fairy-tale magic. Highly recommend for families looking for a bit of adventure without too much intensity. We’ll be back for sure!

I heard of it many times but never had the time to swing by when we drove through GAP on the way back from Italy. This year we stayed a night in GAP and decided to visit the Klam and I have to say it was absolutely worth it. 25 bucks for 2 adults and one kid is fair for what you are getting. A 20min light walk from the Olympia stadium parking area to the entrance of the Klam - you can buy tickets here - or online in advance. The path through the Klam and even beyond are really nice - I would come a second time if/when I'm back in town.

It was beautiful. Tickets were a bit expensive and I recommend bringing cash because a lot of stores were cash only. Overall it was really nice
Aksel U — Google review
Make sure bringing a rain jacket with you. It was a surprising spot for us as a rain check plan. It turned out to be a real “rain” check spot. We didn’t bring rain jackets or hoodies, and we were all wet. But the view and scenery of gorge is magnificent and fantastic. The trail was build under waterfalls, it was “raining” all over the place. But, it’s a nice tourist spot to visit.

Restaurant
Kaiserschmarrn-Alm is a charming eatery nestled in the woods, offering a spacious terrace for dining. The restaurant provides indoor and outdoor seating, making it an ideal spot to enjoy traditional dishes and housemade desserts while taking in breathtaking views. A popular choice among visitors is the Kaiserschmarrn, a pancake-like dish topped with powdered sugar and caramelized almonds, served with applesauce on the side.
We stumbled on this restaurant when walking in the countryside of Germany. They only took cash and had a sign to show you that up front. They had water closets for paying customers and if you sat outside, you’ll get a great view of the mountains. We ordered the hot pear wine and the hot rum tea. Both were fitting on a sunny but chilly afternoon. We shared the bruschetta and the tomatoes were so fresh.
Samantha B — Google review
My recent visit to Kaiserschmarrn-Alm, a restaurant seemingly dedicated to celebrating Austria's iconic shredded pancake, left me with a distinct sense of disappointment. While the concept itself is appealing, the execution of their namesake dish fell far short of expectations. I ordered the classic Kaiserschmarrn, hoping for a warm, fluffy, and freshly made treat. What arrived, however, was anything but. The Kaiserschmarrn was noticeably dry and, even more egregiously, cold. It tasted as though it had been prepared hours in advance and simply left to sit, rather than being made to order. The only redeeming qualities were the accompanying caramel sauce and almond flakes, which provided a much-needed, albeit insufficient, burst of flavor and texture. Yet, even these couldn't mask the fundamental flaw of the dish's dryness and lack of warmth. For a restaurant named after Kaiserschmarrn, one would expect this dish to be their undisputed star – a testament to freshness and authentic preparation. Sadly, my experience suggested a significant oversight in this regard. While I appreciate the effort to focus on a traditional Austrian dish, the quality of what was served makes me hesitant to recommend Kaiserschmarrn-Alm for anyone seeking a truly authentic and delicious experience. I left feeling that the Alm in their name was perhaps more indicative of a pre-made, factory-like approach rather than a loving, fresh preparation.
Mr. C — Google review
A beautiful restaurant with a great view, but also unexpectedly great food and service. If you visit Partnachklamm you should consider making a stop here on the way back. Also only cash
Mikhail — Google review
The food: The Kaiserschmarrn was very tasty and you can taste the eggs in it. It has a nice crust and the almonds further add a crunch. Apple sauce was also delicious. Portion size is good for the price. The service: The service was friendly and efficient even though all tables were occupied. Only the seating process took a bit longer but it’s not their fault. The view on the mountains from there is stunning. The way through the Partnachklamm and uphill have been worth it.
Dennis F — Google review
we went here for a company event after a small hike and then riding the seidelbahn up the hill. it’s very close to the bahn (3 min walk) and is surrounded by very nice view of the mountains. there’s an area where you can take amazing pictures against the mountains. i ordered a kaspatzl, schnitzel and kaiserschmarrn. käsespatzle was a big disappointment (very dry, not enough cheese), schnitzel looked amazing but taste was only above average. kaiserschmarrn was the best! it’s an amazing place to rest and soak the sun in. oh and they take only CASH!
Ece E — Google review
Beautiful restaurant on a walk along the Partnach gorge. Highly recommend the Kaiserschmarrn.
Mark J — Google review
Excellent place for a midhike snack and drink! Indoor and outdoor seating - and pet friendly! The main draw, foodwise, is Kaiserschmarrn! Which is a pancake like item with powdered sugar and caramelized almonds, served with a side of applesauce! It sounds pretty basic but it's anything but - it was present on most tables and delicious! The views are breathtaking and on a clear day, you feel the sun shinning on you - assuming you sit outside. The staff is friendly and helpful, very attentive! Please note that this is cash only! Could be a surprise if you, like me, prefer to pay with cards. Absolutely go - you will not regret it!
Chav — Google review
The restaurant is located on the hill with wonderful view. We came with a large group of 24 people and even though they had many guests (almost fully booked) they solved tables for us quickly and easily. Very good service and the food was absolutely fantastic! Can highly recommend this restaurant after walking through Partnachlamm. It is a walk of about 30min up the mountain. There are directions right when you get out of Partnachlamm. Really worth a visit! Thanks for your great service!!!

The Olympic Ski Jump, located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, is a modern structure built on the site of a 1920s ski jump. It features a 100m-long start tower and hosts weekly tours for visitors. The stadium gained international fame during the 1936 Olympic Games and continues to be a popular attraction today. Situated in the Bavarian Alps, it offers a glimpse into Germany's sporting history and hosts various international and local sporting events.
The Ski Jump offers a dramatic blend of Olympic legacy, cutting-edge design by Zaha Hadid, and sweeping Alpine panoramas. Originally constructed in the 1920s and revamped for the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics—most recently rebuilt in 2003—this hill is a key stop on the Four Hills Tournament circuit . A fascinating historical layer adds depth to the visit: this hill and its surroundings were pivotal during the Tyrolean Rebellion of 1809 under Andreas Hofer—visitors can learn about these local “hostage” dramas and resistance stories during guided tours . Just downstream lies the stunning Partnachklamm, a 700 m gorge carved by the Partnach River near the Olympic stadium. A popular yet serene spot, it features waterfalls, carved tunnels, and rock walls soaring up to 80 m—perfect for a post-jump riverside hike . Visitors will find a small free parking lot near the base, plus a larger paid garage—both well signed. The on-site Sky Café serves hearty Tyrolean fare with spectacular views, and there are additional dining options near the stadium . One downside: the restrooms may benefit from better upkeep . Overall, the Bergisel jump is more than just a sports venue—it's a multifaceted experience combining historic drama, architectural beauty, alpine landscape, convenient parking, riverside hiking at Partnachklamm, and café culture.

The Garmisch Olympia Ice Skating Rink is a great place to go ice skating if you're looking for a fun and adrenaline-filled experience. Plus, the staff are friendly and trained in various skill ranges, so your family can have lots of fun no matter their level of expertise.

Fuengirola L — Google review
A multi-functional ice sports facility located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Affordable, and accessible, the location offers fun for the entire family, just beware there are crowds of unattended children skating and falling on various directions and thus, ice skating may not be fun for all and at time even somewhat perilous ⚠️ Without many alternatives nearby in the tourist town, the location remains a popular destination for ice skating, ice hockey, curling, and figure skating. The stadium is open to the public for recreational skating during specific hours, and rental skates are available on-site, making it accessible even for beginners willing to learn while dodging unattended children and inattentive adults. It often hosts professional ice sports events, so it’s a good idea to check the schedule in advance to avoid conflicting with event days. The facility is well-maintained and offers a family-friendly atmosphere, with options for spectators to watch games or performances. There’s a small café where visitors can grab a snack or warm drink. Also a few vending machines offering drinks and snacks. Parking is available nearby, but during peak times or events, it’s advisable to arrive early to secure a spot unless you are forced to resort to the other paid parking lots nearby. Dress warmly, as it can get cold inside the rink, even if you’re not skating but beware your belongings as you may leave them while you skate. For those looking to try ice sports for the first time, staff members are generally helpful, and lessons may be available depending on the season. The stadium is in a beautiful alpine setting, so you can combine your visit with other activities in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, such as skiing or exploring the town.

We Danes get to see our beautiful Garmisch-Partenkirchen at least once on New Year's Day, when the world-famous Skijump competition is held. We normally snuggle up on the sofa with a bag of delicious chips, trying to cure a post-party hangover. It's so different though when you're actually there! Without any snow and the stadium closed in the summer, you can really see the historical elements of the place, including some really interesting bits from the Second World War (like the emblems). We did a quick walk around the grounds, made a few touristy pictures and left after having a great time. It's definitely worth a visit!

GEP (Garmisch-Partenkirchen Einkaufszentrum) is a shopping center located at Von-Brug-Straße 7-11 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It offers a variety of shops, including clothing stores, sportswear outlets, a supermarket, and specialty stores, making it a convenient spot for both locals and visitors. There are also several dining options, ranging from cafés to casual eateries, where you can take a break while shopping. The shopping center is clean and well-organized, with a relaxed atmosphere, making it easy to navigate. It’s a good place to pick up essentials, souvenirs, or outdoor gear if you’re in town for activities like hiking or skiing. The center is open throughout the week, but it’s best to check the hours of operation in advance, as smaller stores may have shorter hours, especially on Sundays. There is parking available on-site, though it can get busy during weekends or holiday seasons, so arriving early is recommended. Its central location also makes it easily accessible by foot or public transport if you’re staying nearby. Overall, GEP is relatively small but provides a convenient mix of shopping and dining for anyone exploring Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

This 4 star rating is based on what Garmisch has to offer. In no way does it compare to large malls in First World developed countries. Edeka has some variety of food. Aldi is second choice but a bit cheaper on product. Electronics store Media Markt is expensive. Dollar store has various cheap odds and ends. Shoe store, meh D&M for cosmetics, toiletries, photo printshop is so so good nuff.

Mountain cable car
Wankbahn is a popular landmark in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, offering a summit plateau reached by cable car with stunning panoramic views, hiking trails, and paragliding opportunities. Visitors can immerse themselves in the city's rich history and culture by exploring nearby attractions such as Partnachklamm, Graseckseilbahn, Burgruine Werdenfels, and Spielbank Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
You can take a beautiful, long ride up to Mount Wank. There’s a mid-station platform where you DON‘T have to get off if you want to ride all the way to the top. The view is stunning, and it’s something everyone should experience at least once. There’s plenty of space at the top, with many paths perfect for a relaxing walk—even suitable for young children. There’s also a playground for kids. We went all the way to the top and even took a short loop to the Ameisenberg which only took about 30 to 40 minutes.

Amazing half-day trip! Plenty of parking (€6 for a day ticket). No waiting line for the cable car. The views on the way up are great, and the view from the top is absolutely amazing. There are places to eat at the base and the top (prices differ), and lots of seating. Great for kids too! Highly recommend for an easy, scenic outing.

Amazing views! Best thing to do on a Sunday when most things are closed. Went in mid-October. Was worried about visibility the day we had tickets for but cleared the cloud line about halfway up, and was warmer at the top. Beers at the summit restaurant paired perfectly with the view. Did not disappoint!

Station for the cable car to go to the top of the mountain. Staff at the ticket counter are friendly and helpful to get the best value. We went to mittelstation and then hiked the rest of the way up that was very gruelling. Would bot recommend hike from the base to the summit as no real views and first section is fairly boring. Cable cars fit four normal size people and had great views

We had the most incredible time at the Biohotel Garmischer. Staff were extremely helpful and always going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Organic breakfast was delicious, coffee made by the staff with oat milk option was lovely. Breakfast had lots of vegan options too which was lovely. Rooms were beautiful and spacious, our room had a balcony too. Sauna and spa area was such a treat, and has a beautiful relaxation area too. We will definitely be coming back here!

Everything great, except thin, hard mattress and no way to get the room really dark. No minibar or water cooker. You wake up with first daylight! Staff exceptionally helpful and nice! Food very good! Would go again to eat, but not stay overnight.

We stayed at the hotel several years ago, we are now back in the area and wanted to eat at the restaurant at the hotel again. It did not disappoint. All the waiters are charming . The food delicious and it’s just a wonderful , happy atmosphere

We loved the food and beer! Breakfast was also very good, delicious coffee and great service and food selection. Our dinner was one of the best we had in Europe. The lentil and pork belly, salad and soup were phenomenal. The fresh beer was the best I've ever had. Enjoyed the sauna too! Nice big countertop in bathroom and beautiful balcony view. Garmisch is absolutely adorable.

We stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful room with a beautiful view and nice bathtub in the middle of the room. We would loved our stay, breakfast was delicious, they were always super friendly and attentive, the times I asked for something they rapidly responded towards my needs! It’s great location, close to the supermarket, restaurants and the bus stop for those without a car. The sauna it is nice, small, but cozy. We would loved to come back! 🩷

We had an excellent stay at this hotel with the two of us. The front desk staff is super friendly and they gave nice tips for exploring the area. The rooms are spacious and have comfy beds, we also enjoyed having a bath tub in our room. The best thing about this hotel is: they have a great spa! Equipped with a sauna, steam room, foot baths and comfortable relaxing beds. After a full day of mountain sports, there is nothing better than going to the spa and afterwards directly to bed. After hiking you can find yourself as well a shoe cleanser in the hallway. Furthermore, the restaurant offers a superb (complementary) breakfast, and also delicious dinner. If we come back, we will definitely stay here again!!

Had a very nice stay at this lovely property. Martin at the front desk was AWESOME and everyone who worked there was super nice and accommodating. Martin gave us excellent suggestions for hiking spots and we really liked Ernest the house chocolate lab who hangs out during the day. Location was great just a block from the main pedestrian area and a short walk from the train station. Breakfast was good and plentiful with nice choices for both Europeans and Americans. The room was very large as was the bathroom. The view from our balcony was amazing. It was rainy so having our windows open didn't cause any problems but I can see where it might be noisy if the Biergarten was rocking. My only complaint was about the pillows which were a huge feather pillow that basically went totally flat once you put your head on it. I asked for a second pillow to 'stack' and that helped. Total nit picking and I'd gladly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Cafe
Franz Krönner Konditorei und Cafe e.K. is a charming spot in Garmisch-Partenkirchen where you can indulge in delicious coffee, tempting cakes, and even cocktails. The cafe offers a rich breakfast and brunch menu as well. Visitors have praised the beautiful wedding cakes and cookies created by Kronner Konditorei, which often reflect the couple's world travels.
Excellent Kaffehaus and pastry heaven! Absolutely have to stop here if you are in the area. Is it a little expensive, yes, but well worth every Euro you spend. The coffee is excellent and the pastries wonderful. Fresh whipped cream, fresh ingredients, and excellent execution of making the pastries. They also have outstanding hot chocolate. Enjoy there in the classic setting or get some to go.
Angelo S — Google review
Afternoon coffee and cake at the Kroenner Kaffeehaus and Konditorei is definitely worthwhile. The selection of classic and modern cakes and tortes is enormous and includes a very good range for gluten free eaters (the poppy seed and pistachio loaf is a great pick). However, the Kaiserschmarrn is what really impressed us. It was one of the best we've ever had (and we've had a lot) so definitely try it if you are in the area.

Believe it or not! That’s cafe is the only reason makes me visit Garmisch 🤷🏻 I used to live in Tyrol and some trips I travel 90 km from Tyrol, Austria to Garmisch especially for this cafe One of the most delicious cafes in the Alps, its decor is beautiful, its staff is wonderful, its products are of very high quality and its prices are very excellent A cafe that deserves to be visited again White cream cake There is also a local dessert dish that unfortunately was not available during my visit, which is a pie with milk sauce In short, whatever dish you choose and eat a piece of it, it is delicious 💯👏🏻✅

Great variety of high quality cakes. Unfortunately, the service is rather poor - the waiter kept us waiting (they take the “wait” in waiter literally it seems …) at our table, misplaced our order and was generally unfriendly. Would buy cakes there again anytime to eat at home but not necessarily dine in again.
Andreas D — Google review
Im not sure how others rated this more than one star. The cake we got was stale, dry and flavorless. For a place that sells chocolate their hot chocolate tasted like that of a machine’s. We came here because if the high ratings and that it was the only place open on a sunday, wish we just got some chocolate from the aldi down the street. Super disappointed. The icing on top of the cake for us was the smell of our table which was clearly wiped down with a smelly old rag. Dont make the mistake of trying this place

The cafe is very cosy and inspiring if you want to stay there and spend a little time relaxing. The waiters are generally kind and fast, except for one who shout at us for spilling some outside water into a glass.

We had our breakfast in this restaurant two days ago, arrived at the door, no one is there. Then we entered to look for someone to show us our seats. Finally after 5 mins someone showed up and told us set anywhere and left. We sat down and order Chicken toast & Omelette. As the picture shows, the Omelette burnt and tasteless + We got Pineapple toast with small slices of chicken also burnt. Then we decided to try the dessert. We entered the coffee room and there was a very rude lady shouting if u want a dessert and coffee u need to get out only to go, ( we were told it is ok to eat dessert & coffee in the restaurant) she continued to insist to get the coffee and dessert and get out. anyhow worst experience, won’t recommend it.

Hamburger restaurant
Fast food restaurant Burger King serves grilled burgers, fries and shakes. The cheese was not melted very well and was cold, although it's for a cheap price. The chicken was fresh and crispy and the pommes were delicious. All in all, it's a good place to eat.
Firstly apologies for uploading half eaten burger picture but i was hungry. The place is really good and we'll managed. I didn't expect it to be this clean despite being in the middle of the city center and very close to Bahnhof. The staff is friendly. Only minus, no toilet.

A typical burger king in Germany. The staff were very rude, one worker ran over the back of my sons's foot with a rolling cabinet, and when my kid cried out in pain, he just looked at him, said nothing and just kept going.

I ordered a crunchy chicken burger and it was not even cooked. I went to the person in charge and they said it is supposed to be like that. I don’t understand how they can ask me to eat something that was obviously not cooked and still take my money. Either refund me or make another burger.🙄. Horrible service.

McDonald's is a well-known fast-food chain famous for its burgers and fries. One particular location in Garmisch offers a unique experience with a spacious upstairs eating area, complete with a toddler corner, making it an ideal escape for moms on rainy days. Customers have praised the staff for their exceptional service, even turning an ordinary visit into an impromptu birthday celebration.
Very good Mc Donald’s, we always stop here when travelling from Germany to Austria.. and now actually it became a benchmark for other Mc Donald’s. As my boyfriend says, this is the best Mc Donald’s in the world so far.

I placed an order via Lieferando almost an hour and a half ago. The order was confirmed by McDonald’s, and I waited patiently. Then, out of nowhere, the order got canceled after all that time. No explanation, no apology — nothing. This is absolutely unacceptable. If you can’t fulfill the order, at least inform your customers in a timely manner. Wasting people’s time like this is not okay.

Parking is sometimes not enough. The display showing ready-to-go orders did not work, and some tables were not clean. But all in all, ice-cream was good and also the food.

Paweł K — Google review
I mean it's a McDonald's. Not great, not terrible. The coffee was bad but it felt as if it got worse as I was consuming it, when we got out I was actually feeling sick. That's what I deserve for trying to drink coffee in a McDonald's. The breakfast menu was otherwise pretty good, but then again, it's a McDonald's, you go there for convenience and affordable prices, not for amazing food.
Bencze P — Google review
I would say that this is a very unique McDonald’s, because it is a McDonald’s where fast food meets mountain views. In awe of the majestic mountain view, this McDonald’s offers a unique dining experience that combines the convenience and efficiency of fast food with the serenity of breathtaking natural beauty. There are a few seats in the place where you can eat while looking at the mountains as it has outdoor tables.

Zugspitze is a well-known alpine destination that offers a ski resort, glaciers, and cable car rides with breathtaking scenic views. The area features a historic building constructed by Adolf Wenz in the late 19th century, which includes a weather station and former royal high observatory. Visitors can experience the thrill of ascending Germany's highest mountain via cog railway and cable car.
View is breathtaking. It’s the highest point of Germany . From the top of the mountain , you can enjoy the beauty of the nature around and enormous lake .

The most beautiful cable car ride of my life, and the view… indescribable. This is something everyone should see.😍😍 We went up by cable car and came back down with the cogwheel train, which after a while offered a beautiful view of the lake, the mountains, and the surroundings. Also a must-see.😊
Marta A — Google review
Very nice experience and very interesting views but. I’m unhappy to take a train for going back, because with a train you will be in tunnel around 30 minutes nothing to see, I think this train line is made for cargo to bring the necessary equipment for restaurants, so don’t take train go by cable car and see nice views
Rajvir S — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking! The views from Zugspitze are beyond words—standing at the top and looking out over the Bavarian Alps felt magical. I especially loved that they served glühwein (German hot wine), which made the experience cozy and unforgettable. We had a wonderful time and it’s truly a must-visit if you’re in Germany!

Visited in the autumn season — no snow, but the view was absolutely stunning! 🍁 The surrounding mountains and lakes looked breathtaking in golden shades. The cable car ride was smooth and offered amazing panoramic views. Even without snow, Zugspitze felt peaceful and majestic.

Very cool, highly recommend even if the mountain is covered in clouds up top. If that’s the case it would be nice if the ticket was discounted, but rain or shine it’s 75€ per person. There’s a restaurant & bar up there as well

Very tough hike. Started 1am at the ski jump and ended 1pm. Line to the summit is a bit long. If youre doing it in 1 day, bring sun protection because it gets hot. And food because it is quite a long trip
Mackeyboy — Google review
Great place to visit if you want to experience high altitudes without actual climbing. Fast transfer by the cablecar, or more slow ascent by cogwheel train. The building at the summit has multiple floors and observation desks, you can cross to the Austrian side. There are restaurants on both sides. You can also take another cable car to the other side and play in the snow, even in August. Breathtaking views. Go early in the day to beat the clouds. There is also a small church. The bravest ones can climb the actual summit with the cross. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours and bring a sweater. Even in August.

Zugspitze (Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG) - The modern Cable car

Mountain cable car
Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany, offers a breathtaking experience for visitors. Whether you're ascending via the modern cable car or the cogwheel train, the journey to this pinnacle is as awe-inspiring as the destination itself. At almost 3,000 meters high, it provides unparalleled panoramic views across four nations. The newer cable cars since 2017 offer a faster ride and clearer vistas.
It was very well organized, one of my favorite places in Germany . Was windy that day, but it was fun . The food is very good . Scenes make you feel above the world . Suitable for all ages, especially if you are a ski type . You can't get bored from going there 🥰.
Ahmed S — Google review
Visiting Zugspitze was an incredible experience — we were lucky to have beautiful weather, which made the views even more stunning. We bought a cable car ticket for €66, which takes you all the way to the peak of Germany’s highest mountain. The ride itself is smooth and scenic, and once you reach the top, you’re greeted with breathtaking, snow-clad mountain views — truly a sight to remember! After spending some time at the peak, we took another cable car to the glacier area, which is open depending on the season. The views here were even more spectacular, and we got to see people skiing, which added to the lively atmosphere. One thing to note: the last cable car down is at 4:45 PM, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly to make the most of your day. Highly recommended for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to experience the beauty of the Alps.
Swapna S — Google review
We visited Zugspitze hoping for those famous panoramic views from Germany’s highest peak — but the weather had other plans! The skies stayed cloudy and we didn’t catch the 360° vistas, but to our surprise, it started snowing — in June! ❄️ Despite the limited visibility, the experience was still magical. Riding the cable car up through the clouds, then stepping out into a snow-covered summit was surreal. The observation decks and facilities are very well maintained, and there’s still a thrill in knowing you’re standing at 2,962 meters above sea level. We’ll definitely come back on a clearer day — but even with the clouds, Zugspitze gave us a unique and memorable adventure!
Shreya G — Google review

What a great place! We visited in July 2024 and the weather was perfect. We went earlier in the day so we were able to get in and our before the clouds came in and obstructed the views. Saying the views are spectacular does not do it justice. They are amazing and go for miles. The staff that we encountered were very kind and helpful. They spoke enough English that we were able to get by easily. The temperature was a bit cooler up there, than at the bottom so please keep that in mind, but it felt great and we loved it! The winds are also a little more brisk, but again they felt great. We were able to get around up there easily and even the one in our party that is scared of heights was able to navigate up there easily. Would recommend and we will be back when in the area!

Special experience riding the cogwheel train to the Top of Germany - Zugspitze. We took the 1st train at 8.15 from Garmisch-Partenkirchen Zugspitzbahnhof and about 1hrs rode we arrived. Unfortunately cable car at Eibsee was under maintenance but still thr trai ride was fun with views of houses, huts and thr best once was the view of beautiful Eibsee from our train. We alao enjoyed the cable car ride to the summit eventhough the weather was cloudy. Still it was fun as the snows is still everywhere. Overall for 1 short tour you will need at least 4 hrs return

Eibsee is a breathtaking mountain lake located in the Wetterstein Mountains, known for its crystal-clear, deep blue waters. It is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a picturesque hiking loop and opportunities for boating. The area surrounding Eibsee is rich in natural beauty and serves as the gateway to the Alps, with easy access to Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak. Eibsee: Bavaria's Emerald Jewel Eibsee is, quite simply, an out-of-this-world natural spectacle. Located at the base of the mighty Zugspitze, it offers a visual experience that feels less like a hike and more like stepping into a postcard. The water is a startling shade of turquoise and emerald, perfectly reflecting the dramatic mountain backdrop, creating a truly picturesque and unforgettable scene. The main attraction is the well-maintained circular path that traces the shoreline. This gentle, family-friendly walk is a pure joy, leading you through quiet forests and over small inlets. The trail's highlight is easily the small, charming wooden bridge that crosses one of the narrower points, providing stunning views across the water toward the tiny islands dotting the lake. Beyond the immediate loop, a network of excellent, quiet trails branch off, inviting hikers to explore the surrounding dense Bavarian woods. Eibsee is the perfect blend of accessibility, tranquil lakeside beauty, and high-alpine majesty.

Eibsee Alm is a rustic hotel restaurant located in Grainau, offering a delightful dining experience with Bavarian cuisine and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The restaurant provides a warm ambiance with a fireplace and a terrace for guests to enjoy their meals. The menu features a variety of dishes, including traditional German specialties such as vegetarian options, along with classic accompaniments like fries and salads. When you head down from eibsee, it’s only about 2 food options nearby. The walk around the lake is nice. We went here since it was more sit down and less crowded than the other place. Got the cheese spaetzel which was very salty. The waiter made a rude remark that “people from your side of the world” don’t like the beef jelly soup dish because of the acidity so I didn’t get that. Maybe they should be more confident in their food. Outdoor seating plentiful. No indoor seating.

Lovely food in an amazing location beneath the Zugspitze and a short walk from the Eibsee. The pork escalope (filled with onion and mustard) burger, flammkuchen and apple strudel were delicious. Friendly staff.

We were skeptical reading the reviews, but the playground is part of the restaurant so we ended up eating some food. Kaiserschmarren was one of the best we had and also the Gernknoddel was delicious. The service was also friendly (maybe the humour is not for everyone). I would definitely return to eat again

Dine with a view and don't miss the amazing Kaiserschmarm to make this the perfect meal! This was the only place that was open to guests when we travelled (Oct) so we happened to eat here by chance. Its at the end of the parking lot to the train station. The menu is like any other biergarten, slightly pricey, the food took time to arrive but it was very good. For a change I tried the buttermilk, it was quite rich and creamy. We ordered a Kaiserschmarm to share and it was simply delicious. It wasn't overly sweet and the Berry puree was a good compliment.

15+ minutes at the table after being seated. Staff walked past multiple times and helped tables ahead of us - looked at me - nothing. Food looked average anyways. If you have the option to go anywhere else, do that.

My husband and I went at 13:00/1pm for lunch. We had the perfect outside table to look at the mountains and part of the lake. The gondola up to the Zugspitze was going back and forth but was not a bother at all, but kinda cool to watch! The food was delicious. We both ordered the schnitzel which was stuffed with bacon and a delicious mustard. Of course 2 helles on tap as well. The potatoes were perfect, not greasy at all but tender. We were so eager to eat it that I did not get a picture. For dessert we shared the Kaiserschmarrn which is a must if you visit! I'm a stickler when it comes to my cappuccino, I like it with the perfect froth consistency and they got it on point. There is a lovely area for kids to play. The atmosphere was very friendly. The staff was tops. I can only recommend!

AlpspiX is a popular lookout platform that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and valleys. It was opened in July 2010 and features two steel footbridges crossing over each other in the shape of an X, protruding 25 meters off the side of the mountain. The platform provides superb views of Zugspitze and the surrounding mountains, as well as a panorama of Hollental valley 1000 meters below.
The hike from Alpspitze to Kreuzeck was an incredible experience. The breathtaking mountain views were truly stunning. The weather was perfect – sunny, but not too hot, which made the hike even more enjoyable. Interestingly, I didn’t encounter many tourists along the trail, allowing me to fully embrace the peace and closeness to nature. It was a calm and relaxing hike, perfect for disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

When planning our trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, I was initially hesitant about spending the money to ride up the mountain—but it was absolutely worth it. The sheer scale of the mountains and the breathtaking views from the top are impossible to fully appreciate until you’re there. I took dozens of photos, but none of them truly capture the experience—this is something you need to see for yourself. We chose to hike back down, and the trails were clearly marked and well maintained. Our goal was to reach the Partnach Gorge, but a trail closure due to a damaged bridge forced us to take a 1.5-mile detour. If you're planning to hike, I recommend checking ahead for any trail closures so you can adjust your route as needed. This was a highlight of our trip and something I’d recommend to anyone visiting the area.

First time in my life going up this high. I have a fear of heights but in a very specific way. Tip if you do too: Do NOT get on the Alpspix platforms. ...But otherwise it was very nice! I enjoyed the views a lot and I would love to come back here one day.

Breathtaking experience and vistas. We were completely in awe. Felt like we were in heaven. Others must have felt it too as everyone up there seemed to be making an effort to stay as quiet as possible, as if not wanting to disrupt the peace and quiet. Must visit if skies are clear.

Excellent experience. There is a restaurant at the base of the mountain and one on top. You can toggle between two different mountain tops and all of them have a restaurant. The views are amazing and it is very kid friendly as well.

Amazing experience. I was up there by myself and it was so peaceful. Only setback is train is once an hour so I missed the train on my way back to Garmisch. But in the end the walk was beautiful. So not a bad thing!

Scenic spot
Höllentalklamm, also known as the Hell Valley gorge or Hollental Valley, is a unique natural wonder located just six kilometers southwest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The gorge features hiking paths that lead through deep ravines with waterfalls, ice chunks, bridges, and tunnels. Visitors can follow trails to the summit at 1,045 meters and explore numerous tunnels and bridges along the way.
Was lucky today to enter for free. Heard it’s the last day but it’s worth even with 7 Euros. We did a circle hiking to through the gorge to Kreuzeck. It’s a 18km long path with 1000m up and down. Be prepared with professional hiking shoes and sticks as it’s about 6-7 hours trip. You can see the Zugspitze clearly.

The gorge is amazing and the entrance ticket is more than deserved. The water is perfectly clean and amazing to just put your feet in it. The trail is very beautiful passing through the mountain and has amazing view on the waterfalls inside the gorge.

Amazing and exciting gorge! Wild gorge, with many tunnels and surprises. It was a hot day and the water drops were very refreshing! So glad it is in Europe and not in the US that would probably close it for insurance reasons. Also nice that it is not as accessible as other gorges because requires some walking. It means that it is less crowded. You cn go up and down with the same ticket, just keep the receipt to show it on your way out. If it is on your way down from one of the higher trails, you will still need to pay when going out. Fee is cash only - 6 Euro for adult. Tiny lovely cafe in the entrance - take a hot drink or a soup after this thrilling gorge. Highly, highly, highly recommend! Don't miss it!

This is a beautiful and nice gorge. I didn't finish the trail because I had limited time. So I just started hiking from Hammersbach bus stop and I did hike and enjoy the amazing nature surrounding. The trail is easy but it is wet and slippery. Please wear hiking boots and if you have hiking pole, that would be great. It is more beautiful in Autumn (around October). Recommended for nature lovers.

Restaurant
Ascend to the summit and discover Panorama Lounge 2962, a restaurant located at an impressive altitude of nearly 3,000 meters. Indulge in a delightful hot chocolate while soaking in the breathtaking views of over 400 mountain peaks across four countries. Immerse yourself in the region's history and enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch as you learn about its role in World War II.
If you’re ever at Zugspitze, do yourself a favor and stop by Panorama Restaurant. Seriously, where else can you enjoy a warm meal while soaking in breathtaking 360° views of the Alps? It’s like eating in the clouds! I tried the Kaiserschmarrn, and wow—fluffy, sweet, and just the right amount of crispy edges. Perfect with a cup of hot chocolate while watching the snow-capped peaks. The sausages and pretzels? Classic Bavarian goodness! The place does get busy, but the staff keeps things moving with a smile. Prices? A bit high, but hey, you’re literally dining at Germany’s highest restaurant—totally worth it! Pro tip: Grab a window seat and take your time. Trust me, you won’t want to leave! Would I come back? 100%—for the views, the food, and the feeling of being on top of the world!

Great coffee bar and cafeteria-style restaurant. Giuseppe made an amazing pizza for us and it was perfect for 2 to share. Staff as a whole is very friendly and attentive.
Evan S — Google review
The restaurant has spectacular views and decent food, including several vegetarian options (pizza, German, cakes, drinks, etc). As expected, it is a little pricy, but if you can snag a seat with a view it is well worth it. (Note: Most seats were taken by around 11/11:10 for lunch, and once vacated went within seconds so need to keep your eye out if wanting a prime seat.)
Becky T — Google review
Traveled by train, glided up in a cogwheel train, and soared on a cable car—just to dine at Munich’s highest restaurant. Dining in the clouds with 360-degree views of the Alps, enjoying German currywurst, apple strudel, and a fruit cake l😋 Tip: It can get really busy, so we went straight to the restaurant as soon as we reached the mountain top instead of exploring first. Got there around 11:15am and snagged a table before the rush! 🇩🇪✨ 📍 Panaroma Lounge 2962, Germany 🇩🇪
Foodiefam S — Google review
The food is okay. The best thing about this is the heater and of course the view. The pork roast here is tender and juicy but the skin was not crispy at all. The fried pancake on the other hand was great! The portions here are huge, so be prepared to share if you have a small appetite.

Want to eat something delicious when you’re on the tallest peak of Germany? Panorama Lounge 2962 is definitely your place. Try their Spinach Noodle Dumplings, Pizza, Fries and Hot Chocolate. Amazing food and amazing view. Try and enjoy!
Medha N — Google review
Unfortunately, on the day we visited, everything was covered by fog, so we couldn’t enjoy the views. However, this was not the fault of the place but rather our timing. That said, the infrastructure at Zugspitze is excellent. Everything is well-signposted, and there is plenty of information available. The food is also amazing, with one or two main restaurants offering a great variety of traditional German cuisine, several types of beer, and a selection of wines. The dining area provides a privileged view from the top of Zugspitze, making it a must-visit experience when planning a trip to southern Germany. It’s also worth mentioning the journey to the top. Once you arrive at the base station in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, it’s just about a 5-minute walk to the train or cable car station that starts the ascent. There are multiple options to reach the summit or explore other parts of the mountain. In our case, we chose to go all the way to the top, finishing the journey with a cable car ride that offered extraordinary views.

I had a pleasant dining experience at this restaurant. The seating area was comfortable, and the staff was friendly, providing good service. We ordered the Spinat Knödel and hot chocolate, both of which we enjoyed. The spinach dumplings were tasty, and the hot chocolate was a nice treat on a cold day. The restaurant also serves Glühwein, which I appreciated during the chilly winter weather. All in all, I had a satisfactory visit to this restaurant, with decent food and service.

Went here for food and it was excellent! Really rreat service, very kind and quick. Excellent food, good portions, many tasty veggie options (no vegan options though). The Kaiserschmarrn was amazing and the small portion is HUGE! Loved it :)

We went to the restaurant. The food was ok. However, the service was quite bad. The staff cannot handle the number of people, and it wasn't even a crowded day at the ski area. Plus, the staff had a bit rude attitude towards us and other guests (maybe because my German isn't so good, but I tried). My advice: take snacks with you if you go skiing in this area and avoid the restaurants in the mountain. All 4 that we tried had terrible service and cannot handle the large number of guests.
Diego B — Google review
Delicious food and drinks all fairly priced. Service is amazing! Takes a while to get a table at peak times but worth the wait.
Jeremy C — Google review
we were at the restaurant on sunny day. The service was fast and food tasted good. One of the few restaurants on the Slopes/Pisten that offers more than 1 vegetarian option for a meal. The view from the restaurant was amazing.
Lavanya K — Google review
In cold and snowy weather, you have to wait a long time, and you are seated at a table with other people, which cannot accommodate all of you. There is no place to put your helmets. The food is like fast food or convenience food - very unhealthy food. On a positive note, I can note that the staff try to be nice and responsive as much as possible with so many customers. The place is warm and clean.

Visitors can enjoy delicious Italian cuisine in a great environment, with a non-smoking area available outside for families and non-smokers to enjoy.
We visited a charming Italian restaurant in Garmisch and were absolutely delighted! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, like a little slice of Italy in the Alps. The seafood dishes were outstanding – the fish was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the seafood risotto was rich and full of fresh, delicate flavors. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. A wonderful place to enjoy a special meal after a day in the mountains. Highly recommend!

First time visiting this restaurant in Garmisch Germany. We walked to it from the hotel a couple blocks down the road. The restaurant is next to the main road and easy to get to. There is a really large covered outdoor seating area as well as an indoor dining room. The service was really good with the server attentive and friendly. The pizza we ordered was really good and a good portion. It’s big enough for two people. The only small negative thing was the fact that there was not an English menu. Thank goodness for Google translate. We will definitely go back.

Best Pizza & Tiramisu in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Family-Friendly Italian Restaurant La Baita in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is easily one of the best Italian restaurants in Bavaria. If you’re searching for authentic pizza in Garmisch-Partenkirchen or “best pizza near me,” this is the place to go. The pizza is outstanding — thin, crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and flavor. It’s the best pizza in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The highlight for dessert is their incredible strawberry tiramisu. It’s light, flavorful, and the perfect way to finish an Italian meal. On top of the food, the service at La Baita is excellent. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and make you feel right at home. For families, this restaurant is a gem ..they offer kid-friendly food options, high chairs, and comfortable seating, making it one of the best family-friendly restaurants in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. La Baita is a must-visit. Great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere for both couples and families.

La Baita is fast and delicious. We are here a few years ago while visiting Garmisch and when we returned for a visit,we made sure it was the first place we ate. The pizza is amazing, but the pasta was even better. I had the Penne Arrabiatta and it was the perfect combination of spice and garlic. My husband had the Rigatoni with gargonzola and it was wonderful as well. We also ordered a mixed salad, the dressing was perfect....our dinner was so good, we made reservations to eat here for dinner each night of our 3 day visit.

I got the Kramer Slamer burger. Who knew I had to come all the way to Germany to have possibly the best burger of my life?!?! The burger was cooked perfectly, all ingredients were super fresh, the combo of sweet and spicy in the burger was perfect. And it was huge! I wish I were in town longer so I could try a few other burgers! On top of this the Caesar salad was great as were the sweet potato fries! Highly recommended

Great variety of burgers. Pretty big burgers too. Love the Kramer Slammer. Great French Fries and the Potato Wedges are just as good. Nice variety of cold beers but I wish they had a regular Dunkel instead of the Weiss Dunkel. Just a personal preference. Anyway, our second time there and we'll definitely be back. Fast, friendly service too.

Classic burger restaurant. The burger was good but what bothered me was that we weren't asked how we wanted the meat, and it came medium rare. On the other hand, the cocktail and colaweiss were good, as were the fries

The security guard in the park was unnecessarily rude and racist. I was having a cider on the bench in the park. I am a tourist and unsure about the laws of drinking a mild cider in a public park. Delightful chocolate shop in Partenkirchen. Family run, the chocolate is made in house and you can see the work in progress through a large window at one end of the shop. Everything was very delicious and the staff very friendly. The sushi was freshly made and really delicious. We also had the upon ramen and pad thay with duck and 2 other dishes with rice noodles. Everything was very delicious and the portions were very generous. 10/10

Comfortable for a large group. There are good Thai vegetarian options. The food was very delicious. The green, red curry’s were really tasty. Please carry cash as they accept only cash looks like. We also tried the sushi and it was delicious. The ambience was nice.

Having eaten bread the whole of our holiday, this Asian restaurant came as a welcome change. The place was busy and hence the food came about 40-45 min after having placed the order. We had ordered Pad Thai, Udon Noodles, Fried Rice and the traditional red curry. The preparation was excellent and so was the presentation. The taste was authentic for all the different dishes that we had ordered. Definitely worth a visit.

Located in a convenient location right near the bus stop and at the city center. We ordered udon noodles and rice with mango curry. As promised the food was spicy and flavorful. They staff were helpful but because of the number of people it was bit slow. They only accept cash though and no card payments are allowed. There are plenty of veggie options in each category. We also ordered veggie dumplings, which were good but a bit expensive for the portion size. Other than that, the main courses portion size were good for one person. If you like food to be spicy, you can request it or ask for chilli sauce. Overall, we really loved this restaurant, food was great and ambiance was vibrant.

One important detail to note: this restaurant accepts cash only. Thankfully, that’s rarely an issue since there’s a bank nearby for quick withdrawals. We visited as a family of four and were pleased with how quickly the food arrived. Portions were generous, perfect for satisfying hungry appetites, and the service was both prompt and helpful throughout our meal. The food itself met expectations in terms of flavor. The curry dish came with a hearty serving of sauce that paired well with the rice. The pho noodles were served alongside a separate dish of fresh bean sprouts, mint, and coriander, which added a nice touch of authenticity and freshness. The menu offers a wide variety of Asian dishes, ranging from sushi and pho to fried rice, making it easy to find something for everyone. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a quick and satisfying fix of Asian cuisine, especially if you're dining with a group that appreciates diverse flavors.

Our experiences are excellent. The menu has an English translation and lots of choices. the toilet is clean. the service is good. the food is nice. the ambiance is okie. we had a fortune cookie at the end of the meal. Overall 8/10. No card payment.

Garmish is a go to place when you are in that region. A quick stop for lunch/dinner in this beautiful town is recommended. We visited May Man for dinner and had good vegetarian options. Service was quick too.
Shruthi H — Google review
Very nice and simple service, amazing food and good portions. Could be considered a little expensive by some I suppose, I am not rich, but I found the prices ok honestly. They accept only cash though, but there's an ATM, in the nearby area.

Pizza restaurant
Celentano is a family-friendly restaurant with an excellent play area for young children, making it convenient for parents to enjoy their meals while keeping an eye on their little ones. The staff is known for being kind and attentive, even preparing kid-sized oven-baked pizzas. The interior of the restaurant has a charming old-style cellar building look, creating a unique ambiance that some find suitable for events like weddings.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. My son got the calzone, daughter got the spaghetti, wife got pasta with creme and chicken, and I had the Lasagna al Forno. All food was served hot and delicious and portions were generous. Nobody finished all of theirs which doesn't happen often. The server was very friendly, even with our daughter spilling a drink. We will be back next time!
Noah V — Google review
I ordered Risotto Funghi today, but it seems like I got a warmed-up rice mixture with an unclear mushroom sauce. I felt cheated.
Monika B — Google review
Honestly one of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. The fish plate was slightly better, with an overcooked rice. The almost empty restaurant should have been a sign that something is off, however everywhere else was packed and had to give it a try. Service was very slow despite us being the only table at some point. Avoid if you can.
Simona D — Google review
Food was good quality and portions also generous. We had a selection of dishes across the group and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. It was a shame that front of house was so short staffed. The waitress who looked after us was pretty much on her own. I would like to thank her for being pleasant despite having so much to do. Running down the corridor to the kitchen isn't a good look. A good number of people walked away before being seated while we were there.
Nick M — Google review
We visited during off hours after a hike so not crowded. Delicious food. My family loved the parmesan soup; we had pizza and calzone. All was delicious! The wait staff were lovely as well.
C — Google review
Great location with a great atmosphere. Service was fast. Food was ok. I ordered the lasagna al forno at it was burning hot. Took me a very long time to eat it since it was so hot. The restaurant has a nice feature that I have not seen in any restaurant in Germany and that is a button to call the waiter/waitress for service or for the check. It didn’t use it because the waitress was excellent and I didn’t have to wait much.

Incredible quality of food and experience. Angelo and Claudia gave phenomenal service. Lasagna, Tortellini, Hugo were perfect. Will return and recommend to anyone.
Jay B — Google review
The ambiance and decor are wonderful. Food is top end, from fine steaks to the best pasta dishes to chicken and pizza. One of the better wine and drinks menus around. Five star dinning at three star prices. A must stop.

Restaurant
Bavarian restaurant
Wolpertinger is a traditional tavern located in Garmisch, offering huge portions of Bavarian standards such as schnitzel and cheese spaetzle. The restaurant also serves original local specialties and features vintage south-Bavarian interior design. Visitors have praised the friendly and welcoming staff, as well as the incredible vibes, food, and service.
Incredible vibes, food, and service. We got sat in front of the window inside with a great view. The food was so good and the portions were huge! We each ordered a dish and still had over half to food left for take away. You must get the turkey dish, apple strudel, and apple fried rings. Everything was delicious. We adored the workers too. Gerkin (not sure if spelling is correct) was so nice and helped us find a tshirt! We were soaked after a heavy rainfall. We cannot recommend this place enough.

Great option for Bavarian food in Garmisch Partenkirchen. We had the Fuhre Mist which was a set of different meats and fries served in a wooden cart. The meats were generally tender and had good flavor, and the portions were huge. We also had the cheese soup and beef soup which were both were good. I would say the flavors weren't particularly spectacular, but it was nice to try authentic Bavarian food.

A great find for authentic Bavarian food. The atmosphere is traditional and welcoming, and their goat cheese was simply heavenly. Highly recommended for a local culinary experience
Nika K — Google review
I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic Bavarian cuisine. The food is delicious, and portions are more than generous - come hungry! As someone who doesn't speak German, I truly appreciate the extremely friendly and helpful staff who made the experience welcoming. Overall a fantastic dining experience.

We recently visited Wolpertinger as a group of 14 persons attending a workshop in Garmisch. The experience was outstanding. The beer selection was exceptional and the food was both delicious and clearly prepared with great care. Portion sizes were generous my steak, in particular, was excellent and more than sufficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Visiting Germany for the first time. The food was excellent. I highly recommend it. If it was close to home I would be a regular.

Love this restaurant. Most delicious meals. Every single dish is super delicious. They are kind and very friendly to non-German visitors. Their recommendations are the best food. Their 2 most popular schnopps...apricot and plum are the best ever!!!! Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Garmisch.

Gasthof zum Rassen is a cozy inn located in the historic district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The hotel offers homey rooms, a warmly furnished restaurant, and a terrace for guests to enjoy. It is situated within walking distance of attractions such as the Richard Strauss Institute and Garmisch Olympia Stadium. The hotel also provides 24-hour reception and shopping service. Guests have praised the deliciously prepared meals at the restaurant and appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff.
Sets right in middle of the old Town. The Church is straight across the street The entire guesthouse is Old Traditional and in my opinion kept that way very good. .seen complaints of being noise but that is what is never going to be a hidden thing unless you go into a cave from people...I did not mind it all because I did not go there to get involved in people business to hear what they say... the female receptionist was also our waiter...she is a joy to have and can make some laughs....food was great...so being raised with no shoes I have not got above my raising and complain about small things or details...If I come back to Garmish I will definitely stay here.

I stayed here one night and wished to have stayed in here longer, the room was really nice and the view from the balcony was fantastic. The beds were comfortable and the staff were nice, breakfast in the morning just hit the spot. Hope to return soon

I can not say anything about the room bcs i was here just for dinner, I can only say that you Never have your dinner here, there is nothing i can say more !!

Nice hotel well located. Breakfast was solid. A quaint location. Owner hilariously in retrospect made no attempt to speak English to me, which I actually respect. Pimsleur is much more practical for language learning than rosetta stone!
Alan S — Google review
Very traditional inn which used to be popular among locals. But not any more. The rooms are clean but very simple and don't justify the pricy room rate. Food is distasteful and too expensive, breakfast is okay though. The personnel is very nice and helpful. The inn's location in the center of Partenkirchen is good but there are better places to stay and to eat nearby. If you want to have a beer in traditional location it's acceptable.
Veronika K — Google review
Rooms were really nice and also the view from window is beautiful. Breakfast is included in the stay and food was tasty. The owner of the hotel is really good at providing services and always there if you need any support. 🙂 However, what I did not like was the behavior of staff. When we asked for some help regarding our room, their reaction was very rude. So tip to the staff if you are providing services, then please be a little patient and learn to talk politely. 👍 just because of this reason giving 3 or I would have given 5.
Zarana P — Google review
The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. We upgraded our room, but it was just an average room. The towels were rough and our water didn't get very hot. The quality that you get doesn't match the expensive price, which is unfortunate. FYI, there is an extra charge if you use credit card to pay for your stay
