Garda in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Garda, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Garda, on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, offers a classic lakeside setting with a pretty harbor, waterfront promenade, and views of surrounding hills. The historic center has narrow lanes, cafés, and small shops housed in traditional buildings, giving it a relaxed, village-like feel. Nearby, travelers can walk up to Rocca di Garda for panoramic lake vistas or take boat trips to other lakeside towns. Its location also makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider Lake Garda region and the city of Verona.
With favorites like La Loda Ristorante Pizzeria, Baia delle Sirene, and Parco San Vigilio | Reopening in Spring 2026, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like La Loda Ristorante Pizzeria so you can get the best taste of Garda while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

With only 1 day to squeeze in as much activities as you can, we strategically grouped the must-sees, Baia delle Sirene and Parco San Vigilio with surrounding point of interests to make sure you don’t leave Garda without getting the most bang for your time. Combining the average time spent at each location and traveling time in between, it should fill up about 8 hours of your day.

Baia delle Sirene, also known as Mermaid Bay, is a beautiful beach located in the Punta San Vigilio Park near Garda. The beach offers a picturesque view of Lake Garda and provides various amenities such as a beach club, entertainment, nursery, and restaurant. Access to the beach involves a fee that includes parking, sun loungers, showers, and access to facilities like toilets and a kids club with playground.
We loved the beach , had a great full day of sun. They got chairs toilets and a restaurant. Great place to get away from the public beaches crowds. Paid 18 euros per person and we thought that was worth it.

Beautiful, well maintained beach location at the lake. Clean toilets, good beds to lay on, sun and shade from the trees (cooler than under an umbrella), nice bar with great cocktails.. The price is high, but worth it if you come for the whole day, but parking is extra (12€ for a whole day). Our kids particularly enjoyed that there was a shallow part of the lake and then a sudden drop so they could ‘jump into the deep part’. We also got treated to some music which was absolutely lovely and gave a great vibe. We came on a Friday so it wasn’t too busy. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful (pricey!) spot to relax, enjoy the amazing landscape and bathe in crystal clear water. There’s a little bar/café and clean toilets. We were only annoyed by a guy working there, we felt like he was patrolling the area and the vibe was a bit off. But otherwise great location!
Andrea B — Google review
Nice spot, but definitely overpriced — especially compared to Rivera Beach Club just on the other side. It’s €20 (weekdays in July) per person plus extra for parking 200m away, while Rivera Beach Club is cheaper, includes parking, and is overall much nicer and more upscale. Unless the price here drops, I’d recommend to go to Rivera Beach Club.

The venue is stunning, but horribly overpriced. They’ve clearly maximised the geographical beauty of the location, but the overall experience is disappointing for the cost. Entry is €15 per person for just half a day, yet the bathrooms are substandard – no toilet seats and wet floors. Towels are not provided. A basic pre-made salad, the kind you’d expect from a school canteen, is another €15, and it’s not even prepared on site. On top of this, my husband is gluten intolerant (not coeliac), and this was the only place in Italy where we were told we should have called ahead. At such a luxurious and high-priced establishment, we certainly didn’t expect staff to be reluctant to even offer a simple salad. Everywhere else in Italy has been welcoming and accommodating, so this was a real disappointment. For two people: entry (€30), two salads (€30), and drinks (about €20) came to around €80 – that’s roughly R1,600 – and parking is extra. Staff were not particularly welcoming when I raised my concerns. For the money you pay, you’d expect a much higher standard. I do not recommend it. If you read other reviews, you’ll see that there’s a place across the way that offers a far better experience at a more reasonable price.

Beautiful place & well maintained this location at the lake. Clean toilets, There is a good bar & very tasty food & drinks 🍸
AKD — Google review
The beach itself is wonderful and some of the views even breathtaking. But I dunno if its worth the money. We paid 13€ per person (discount after 14:30) + parking for 8€. You get sunbeds and shadow guaranteed but we also got live music which I wasnt really happy about as we wanted to rest on a beach, not attending a concert.
Alica H — Google review
Disappointing and overpriced – clearly just a money-making machine Unfortunately, I can’t understand the many positive reviews. Entry now costs a hefty €15 for just half a day – even for children – which is completely out of proportion to what’s offered. Add to that an expensive parking fee. The beach area is tiny and completely overcrowded, with sunbeds packed tightly together, leaving little room to relax. There are far too few toilets for the number of visitors – a real issue, especially for families. The snack bar is another letdown: overwhelmed staff, very limited options, and not even the basics like fries. Instead, they try to create a pseudo-luxury vibe that just doesn’t hold up. On top of that, there’s no mobile reception – inconvenient and frustrating in this day and age. Bottom line: This place is clearly designed to squeeze as much money out of visitors as possible, with no real value in return.

Parco San Vigilio is a tranquil and clean place, perfect for a relaxing day in the sun. The spacious area offers large sunbeds and a heated swimming pool, although a swim cap is required. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful colors of the lake and indulge in delicious food at the bistro. The location is surrounded by greenery, providing a charming atmosphere for a leisurely day out.
The place is very nice and the staff is very friendly. Although you are not allowed to bring food or drinks, you can eat in the Restaurant and the food is delicious!
Nicole C — Google review
The location is absolutely stunning—peaceful, serene, and beautifully maintained. While we were initially expecting more of a beach club vibe, we ended up really appreciating the quiet atmosphere and sense of tranquility. The cabana include delicious fruit, water and snacks. Alcohol is available for purchase as you’re not allowed to bring your own. The paddle boarding is great addition at a small additional cost per person but quite reasonable. All in all, it’s a great place for swimming and relaxing by the lake.
Queen S — Google review
First and foremost the place is really nice, well maintained, it has a car parking and the beds they provide are extra wide and comfy. So why only 2 stars? 1. One star less for the price. 25€ per person/bed can be affordable for some but I guess spending 100€ for a family of 4 without drinks and food can be expensive for many. You might ask why did you go there in the first place? Well it’s because once you park your car you see a sign with “free entrance” (picture attached). I walked in with my family, no cashier in sight no gates to stop one. We spread our things around 3 beds and got to the beach. When we got back a staff member asked us (and others) for the tickets. We asked about the „free entrance“ sign they told us that the free entrance is to the restaurant…LOL and the 2nd star less. The 3rd star due to not being allowed to bring any drinks and food from outside (it’s checked sporadically). Apparently to keep the place clean. I am sure it has nothing to do with the restaurant that you can enter without paying an entrance fee. :) To their defense it’s all described on their web page and they still give you the option to leave after asking you for the ticket (Which many did).
Nico P — Google review
A wonderful experience, a romantic place where you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. It’s a pity they allow access to some people with small children, who show a total lack of common sense and make noise, disturbing the entire resort. Perhaps it would be a good idea for the clientele to be selected more carefully. It might also be a good idea for the staff to step in when the very rules stated on the resort’s website are not being respected.
Ioana M — Google review
Generally a really nice relaxing place to spend some time in the sun. Lots of sunbeds and you can swim in the lake or the nice pool. Food at the cafe was really tasty and a good portion size. I thought the entry price was a little bit expensive and a cappuccino was 3 euros, but we did have a good day.
Adam M — Google review
Saturday 9th of August around 12pm: Extremely rude and unprofessional guy at the parking entrance, didn't even care to give us some decent guidance on how this place works. He just kept repeating that the parking was full and pointed us to another parking down the road, the only thing he cared of was how to get rid of us. Where we did go in the end and also chose another beach further down. I know they don't care because they are going to be full anyway, but some courtesy wouldn't hurt anyone. Also, speaking a bit of English would help, since so many non-Italian speaking people come here. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place. First impression always makes a huge difference!

Marawan is an exceptional kind man. I have not had the pleasure of tasting food before that I could taste in my heart and soul. Parco Voglio is a paradise on earth. My gratitude to you all Marawan, Christian such a young chef and Leane who made this one of the greatest moments in my life. Much peace and love to you all for your lives ahead. They will be extraordinary. X

A private park, with a pool, a beach and restaurant. The garden is nice and extremly clean. 25 eur pp the entrance. This is rather a luxury beach with a wonderful garden, than a park.

Overall good food and decent prices for the location. The restaurant has a great view of Garda lake. Service is a bit lacking, I suggest hiring more staff!

Incredible selection of pizzas along with fish, meat and pasta dishes. Extremely friendly and helpful staff with good English. Very conveniently located beside the pool for residents of Parco del Garda.

We went to this restaurant, all the workers were sitting on the bench and talking. My pasta had dead bugs in it and the iced tea can had dead bugs on the top of it as well. When we were paying and buying ice cream - they were laughing at us and speaking Italian thinking we wouldn't understand but I knew what they were saying and it wasn't very nice!

Best value for money restaurant in the area! Highly recommended if you are in the neighborhood. Large choice of pizza and fish dishes. Beautiful view of the lake. Ideal if you come with children (games available, secured environment).
