Lahaina in 3 days

If you only have 3 days to spend in Lahaina, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Lahaina has a lot of history, and is the third oldest town in Hawaii. It was once a whaling capital and an important port for merchant ships, but today Lahaina is a popular tourist destination, and is the gateway to Maui's other attractions. The pristine beaches are a major tourist attraction, and Ka’anapali and Napili beaches are no exceptions. Centered on Front Street, you'll find merchants selling everything from snorkeling gear to T-shirts, as well as art galleries and popular restaurants.
With favorites like Whalers Village, Nikki's Pizza, and Star Noodle, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Java Jazz and Denny's so you can get the best taste of Lahaina while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Shopping
Whalers Village is a beachside mall in Maui that offers a variety of experiences for visitors. The village features boutiques, restaurants, and activities such as hula lessons. On Saturdays, the Maui Farmers Market takes place at Whalers Village, where local farmers showcase their products. Additionally, the village hosts the Kaanapali Food and Wine Festival with participating farmers paired with Kaanapali chefs.
It had stores laid out on 2 levels, it provided a large variety of stores and indoor and outdoor food. It was a beautiful day out while we were there. There was a nice beach area there and we took several pictures. We found some gifts there to bring back too.
Mark W — Google review
Great strip mall! So many stores and great restaurants with live music! Had henna/hair braiding stands lots of awesome jewelry kiosks! It's a 2 minute walk from the mall to the beach.
Morgan J — Google review
Lots of interesting stores here, good for trinkets, gifts, and or even items you may have forgotten at home that are needed for the beach. You will pay a pretty penny for what you are getting and depending on what store you go to, you will fork over more 💲. Like mentioned in previous reviews there is an ABC store to Louis Vuitton. The ABC Store will pretty have everything you will need at the beach. IE sunscreen, after burn lotion, Sun glasses, small snacks etc. so if you forget something, stop by here and grab it There are other stores where we got good t-shirts and a great beach bag. The store was Kaialoha Supply. My wife blew out the budget 💸 on that store. 😂 This place is close and some would even say that it is right on the beach. It is also close to restaurants so shopping on food are a difficult tag team. We were at a hotel near the beach so we could get a shuttle to and from the this place. So depending on where you are staying or going the tram could be the way to get to and from your destination. The only reason for a four star instead of five would be how expensive this place is.
Casey S — Google review
A nice, but small seaside outdoor mall. A good choice of shops and a platform the kids. Parking was $4 for 30 minutes, but the shops will validate your ticket for 2 hours if you make a purchase.
Big C — Google review
Fun shopping experience, great shops, places for the kids to play as well as beach access. Great food stops and just a fun shopping day
Sarah R — Google review
Perfect little shopping mall. It has abc store and a Louis Vuitton!! Same for food, can go for the food court or choose one of the 3 high end restaurants.
Frederic R — Google review
This is an awesome 2-3 Level Mall! Great shopping and Dining. Parking validation from select stores/restaurants gets you two hours of free parking from the moment you get there. Christmas shopping here is a must. Plenty of stuffing stockers and unique gifts.
Robin W — Google review
Very beautiful shopping area just off the beach and surrounded by many hotels. There is a decent spread of shops to choose from including the only ABC store in the area. Other shops include Sephora, Gucci, ITSUGAR, etc. Things in the mall are very pricey (see Gucci for example), but I guess that’s par for the course in this section of Maui. We’re not totally sure if the restaurants count as a part of Whalers Village but the proximity to them either way is a plus but beware they do get very packed and finding a table as a walk in will typically take some time.

Honokowai Marketplace is a bustling shopping center with plenty of parking, offering a variety of restaurants, offices, services, and retail shops. It's a popular spot for locals and tourists alike to grab a quick bite or enjoy a leisurely meal at the great local eateries. The marketplace also features gift shops and grocery stores where visitors can find everything they need at reasonable prices. Additionally, there's an open-air market every Sunday in the parking lot showcasing local vendors from the Lahaina area.
Love Times Market! Economical way to pick up lunch for a picnic. They have everything, beer, wine, wraps, burritos, salads. Quick self check out.
N. A — Google review
While there are some fantastic restaurants and stores, there were quite a few drunk and drugged-up homeless people and a good amount of trash you had to step around. So, be careful, lock your doors, and be safe.
C. W — Google review
Great place to get your shopping done. They have some souvenirs, tshirts, water shoes + all the groceries you may need
Tom F — Google review
Nice store, friendly staff. Food prices are MUCH less expensive than the Safeway in Kapalua. Pharmacy, clothing and alcohol selections are good. Nice and handy to our resort at Papakea.
Geoff D — Google review
The Honokowai Marketplace is a small strip mall at the north end of Kaanapali and marks the beginning of the Honokowai area. While the majority of clientele are local, they also get a lot of business from tourists staying at the numerous time shares and condos nearby. Businesses are a mix of restaurants, local services and grocery. Parking is free and plentiful. Vehicular access is easy and safe via the "lower road" as opposed to highway 30. HIGHLIGHTS: - Java Jazz (eclectic decor & great food) - Slappy Cakes (breakfast) - Times Supermarket (groceries & pokē)

Outdoor Activities
Kahekili Beach Park, also known as Airport Beach, is a less crowded alternative to Kaanapali Beach in the northernmost part of the Kaanapali resort area. It offers good snorkeling opportunities and a long, soft sand beach ideal for swimming on calm days. The park features picnic facilities, barbecue grills, showers, restrooms, and ample parking. The reef just offshore is easily accessible from the beach and is perfect for families and beginner snorkelers.
Awesome snorkeling here! We've seen all sorts of eels, barracudas, eagle rays, puffer fish, feather dusters, and some sea slugs.
Ben — Google review
this beach was on of my favorite beaches in this area. there was SO MUCH to see when snorkeling — schools of fish, coral reefs, and turtles! it was gorgeous. the only complaint was the drop off being so drastic and deep.
Rovi B — Google review
Low effort, high reward spot for snorkeling! We went a few times throughout our trip and it was gorgeous each time. Easy parking. A very popular spot but once we were in the water, it didn't matter much to us. Our favorite time was around 7:30am-9am when we saw a turtles and lots of fish. As you walk towards the beach from the parking lot, turn right and NOT left for the reefs to snorkel around. You can get in the water close to the right of the parking lot, no need to walk too far down the sand to get great reef views.
Kristine T — Google review
Great place to snorkel and get some sun. I like that they have a restroom and descent amount of parking.
Kim S — Google review
Beautiful beach with reefs. Very good spot for snorkeling. Most action is in front of the hotel, lots of tropical fishes. There is a shower and toilets for public use.
Fatma Ş — Google review
This is our favorite beach in Maui. Calm waves, beautiful corals and easy snorkeling, soft sand! Lots of marine life and sea turtles! Rainbow is a plus!

Park
Wahikuli Wayside Park is a waterfront public park that provides BBQ grills, picnic pavilions, outdoor showers, and restrooms. Along with Laninpoko State Wayside Park, it offers lovely grassy picnic areas with barbecues and walking paths. While it may not have beaches, the park makes up for it with fantastic surfing spots.
Looking for a table with a view over the beach and restrooms,.easy parking (noon-ish on mid-week). Nice, nice rest stop for a lunch or just hanging out. Clean restrooms too.
Raincountry — Google review
As visitors from California, attended Calvary Chapel West Maui today for church. Can't think of a better way to attend church than on the beach. Pastor Steve was friendly and warm to talk with.
Jeremy H — Google review
The park and beach were clean and nice. The parkings was adequate. The snorkeling at this spot is not great, and this may not be the best place to bring younger kids if they aren't strong swimmers since there can be sneaker waves and it gets over 6 feet deep only a few yards into the water.
Rogan R — Google review
Wahikuli Park is a pretty long and narrow stretch of beach along Highway 30 that fronts the Lahaina Post Office and goes north towards Kaanapali and a bit south towards Lahaina. There are restroom facilities, showers and charcoal grills. It's pretty good for body and boogie boarding though the area south is all rocks. The sea floor drops pretty quickly from shore so it's not recommended for little ones. Being so close to the highway, some parts can be super noisy with tons of cars whizzing by. You still get the killer sunsets though.
Maui T — Google review
This was a great park with a nice walk by the ocean. It is a great place for a picnic. We enjoyed the small and calm beach. The best part was seeing all of the turtles swimming by the rocks.
Andrew K — Google review
We used this lovely and very accessible beach for a pre-wedding photoshoot at sunset. There was no sun, overcast and sprinkles of rain. No spectacular sunset, but quite spectacular images. (The bride is a fitness instructor and weight lifter.) A very good place.
Alan M — Google review
Had a great time here today! They have lots of shade by the park, picnic tables, restrooms and showers. We saw a turtle basking in the warmth of the sand and sun, and another one while snorkeling. Gentle waves, great for the family.
Sarah C — Google review
Great family beach and picnic area, at the southernmost point of Kaanapali Beach! Life guard on duty, relaxing with its trees providing shade on a sunny day. Lava rocks provide "Grazing" for turtles. Great snorkeling too!

Shopping
Lāhainā Cannery Mall is a vibrant shopping destination on Maui, offering a diverse range of experiences for visitors. With over 50 shops, including fashion boutiques, jewelry stores, and specialty shops, the mall provides ample opportunities for retail therapy. Additionally, guests can enjoy hula shows and an art fair hosted by the Lahaina Art Society on weekends. The upcoming food court with a "food truck" concept promises to add an exciting culinary dimension to the mall's offerings.
Nice little shopping mall but the highlight was definitely the free cultural show. The performance was amazing - and free! I was expecting a little 20 min show but was just over an hour! There are food trucks around to grab a bite and enjoy.
Penny D — Google review
The Cannery is a small but cute shopping center, probably a bit too small to be called a mall. Very abundant parking outside so no worries about finding a spot. There’s a decent amount of food options like Jersey Mike’s, Starbucks, and a few food trucks. There’s a Long’s (Hawaiian CVS) and a Safeway which gives it a lot more utility. The inner mall has a few local shops, nothing too big name. The highlight of our trip there was seeing a hula performance with locals which really emphasized the communal nature of Lahaina that you can forget exists when surrounded by the gauntlet of hotels nearby.
Amber L — Google review
I have never seen an indoor mall have outdoor simulated food trucks inside. They have a lot of interesting food trucks and the mall is brand new and they are still having spaces for lease. Fun place. It’s modern and clean and new. Free open parking lot. It’s right next to Safeway and an ABC store. Chickens run around freely.
Karina K — Google review
We happened to be looking for a place to eat and saw the recommendations online. It was Easter and a spur of the moment decision coming off a drive to the Olivine pools and Blowhole. What an unexpected joy to be ushered in without reservations!!! The buffet was very good, and a walk of the Plantation grounds and shops afterward made for a pleasant finish to a full day adventuring.
Mark M — Google review
I’m giving them an A for effort, but the mall itself isn’t very lively. They can’t help it, but the crowds aren’t coming. It’s nicely built, post the devastating fire, has food trucks, some tourist shops, surf and clothing stores, jewelry store, and is connected to Longs Drugs (aka CVS for mainlanders). Starbucks and sandwich joint. It’s continuing to grow. Plenty of parking. It’s also close to the Lahaina restaurants recently rebuilt. So good location. Cool thing is they have a hula school perform for free. Check the website for times. The Cannery will be lively some day. Just needs time.
G L — Google review
Great shopping experience. Good stores for souvenirs and tshirts, indoor food truck mall.
Sarah R — Google review
This is Maui's first and only enclosed mall. It definitely is not a shopper's paradise and is filled with a lot of touristy shops and no department stores. There's a small food court and parking is plentiful. HIGHLIGHTS: - Kalei's Lunchbox (local Hawaiian) - Longs Drug/CVS - Safeway
Maui T — Google review
Good stop for various souvineer trinkets, cool that you may see a popup of vendors on the yard, I'm sure it will only improve as more stores move in, because it is a little bare/lacks a little in variety of stores. Nice that you can also walk to Ross and one day maybe other stores too across the street. The food court in the mall is unique but I didn't try anything so I can't speak on it.

Restaurant
Nestled in the Honokowai Marketplace, Java Jazz is a delightful cafe that captures the essence of Maui's vibrant culture. With its quirky decor and artistic flair, this charming spot offers an extensive menu filled with eclectic dishes that cater to every palate. The atmosphere comes alive in the evenings with live music, making it a perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure.
We were on the Hawaiian Islands for three weeks. Everything was great. – Only the food was mostly disappointing. But then: On Maui – thanks to Google – we discovered this restaurant shortly before the end of our trip. Inconspicuous in a row of shops, but what an extraordinary interior design; and live music in the evenings. And above all: finally excellent food! We were there three times. Our favourite: The Tenderloin/ Filet Mignon with Mushed potatoes. Wonderful meat, excellently prepared and finally a side dish beyond fries or chips. Also fish, vegetarian dishes were excellent! Enough free seats, super friendly staff. We could hardly believe it! Forget crowded, mediocre, expensive resort restaurants or the takeaways in the park next door. Don't miss out on this restaurant!
Heiko S — Google review
What a magical place with such delicious food. If you're lucky enough, you'll be graciously served by Mr. Nader. As funny as it might sound, we originally tried to have brunch at Slappy Cakes, located in the same plaza. But we had the “good luck” of receiving slightly condescending treatment from the person assigning tables, and the wait time was 20 minutes. That gave us the chance to stroll around the plaza, and that’s when we discovered Java Jazz. With the video and photos, you’ll get a sense of the pleasant atmosphere and the presentation of the dishes. We enjoyed the Uncle Mike's Moko Loco and the Hawaiian Omelette. Both dishes were delicious, and the prices weren’t as steep as the rest of Hawaii. They have live music in the evenings, so we’ll definitely be coming back to enjoy this place again. The best part of all was the truly special service we received. Mahalo, Nader.

The bizarre art decor of this jazz bar and grill is to be viewed. So much interesting elements. The menu is large, the food comes out very fast, piping hot, with generous portions. The servers have a chill vibe, but attentive and professional. Make sure to ask the owner about the Polaroid pictures pasted on much of the walls. Looking forward to returning one day.
Clayton B — Google review
Java Jazz is hands down the most authentic place I’ve found on Maui. Its retro style gives it so much character, and the staff are absolutely amazing: warm, welcoming, and right to the heart. The breakfasts are incredible, especially the Loco Moco with gravy and a perfectly cooked beef patty, savory and satisfying. And of course, the coffee is fantastic - the reason you have to visit this spot. It’s one of those places you just want to support in every way possible. An unforgettable gem that captures the spirit of Maui. Highly recommend!
Maurice B — Google review
An eccentric little cafe / bar with absolutely amazing food! My beer rating is 2 star for lack of beer selection and served a bit on the warmer side for my preference. Nonetheless, don't let that stop you from visiting this true hidden gem! We nearly missed out in the delicious food as we were just looking for a place with live music. We enjoyed the seared ahi and fresh catch so much we returned the next day for the filet and shrimp scampi. Best meals we've had on Maui! Live music every night. This is a must if you are seeking a change of pace from your normal routine.
Jason H — Google review
This is our go to place when in Maui and we have visited them at least 10 times in the past 10 years. Food is delicious- service is top notch, ambience is simply amazing- and Farzad ( the owner) is your new best friend! Will return and enjoy this establishment for the years to come!

American restaurant
Denny's is a popular casual dining chain known for serving classic American comfort food, with a focus on all-day breakfast options. Visitors have praised the welcoming atmosphere and friendly service at various locations. While some diners enjoyed their meals, others noted specific preferences not being met, such as the absence of rice in certain locations like Maui. Overall, Denny's offers a diverse menu and pleasant dining experience for those seeking familiar American dishes.
We dined in here while on vacation (March 2023) and we’re welcomed by a very nice host who guided and answered all our queries related to Maui very patiently thank you for that. We ordered skillet, fried chicken and the sides were Garlic toast, corn, broccoli. Food was good and far better than Southern California Denny’s.
Taniya C — Google review
We had dinner here twice as it was one of the only food joint which was open late night. it was a little short-staffed, so the service was pretty slow. But our waiter was handling everything quite well and kept us updated on the timeline. The food was okay.
Manpreet D — Google review
I'll start with the good. It's very nice inside looks clean the food is what you expect from dennys. Now the bad the service is terrible. The waitress forgets what she went to pick up on the way to pick it up. We wanted salads but for some reason none was available. We watched 3 customers come in wait to be seated then wait too long and just got up and left. The place was empty. Your waitress is terrible she should not be waiting tables. Not only ridiculously slow but would bring out the wrong things. We asked for ranch about 6 times and were finally told that it was out and she would make some later. At her pace it might be a month before we see it. I'll post pictures so you have an idea how busy it was. I don't get how a manager can't see what's happening here and correct the problem.
Adolpho V — Google review
If you enjoy rice with your meals, do NOT eat here. Most local families eat rice with certain meals, but this Denny's neglected to add it to their menu despite being on Maui. That is my only issue. If rice isn't required, then it's all good. The service and atmosphere were great.
Jayson K — Google review
Why we (2 persons) have to wait 8 minutes at the entrance to be seated, when the restaurant is half empty? And why do I have to wait another 35min for the food? The place was less than 1/4 full. The hash brown was not golden brown. But the omelet was ok. But in the end, the whole thing was very disappointing for me and if anyone asks me, I will not recommend this Denny's to anyone. Very sad. The 3 stars for the service is only for the waitress.
M S — Google review
Good, much needed diner for Lahaina. I went here a few times and I enjoy it. Good food, good price. Only thing, minor though but make sure you add more milkshake in the refill cup. Not a shot's worth 😉 Edit: I appreciate the new opening and the new employee's diligence of hard work and learning. They should be recognized more I wanted to do a 1 year review as I try to support newer places that open up. The experience was wonderful. I went on this day to remember the times my late grandmother would take me to Dennys as a kid. I went this morning and the place was not super busy and it was mellow. I was able to sit by a window with my own big table which was wonderful. Nothing better than enjoying a cup of coffee on a cloudy Lahaina day. I ordered the French toast slam. The staff were all very friendly and prompt. I got my food order quick and I took my time enjoying my meal. I would recommend this place for anyone that enjoys a wonderful breakfast or any occasion at a fair price. My food order was close to $30 because I felt the service was wonderful enough to provide a tip. Mahalo nui loa 🤙

Nestled within the vibrant Whalers Village, Nikki's Pizza is a delightful counter-serve eatery that caters to your cravings any time of day. Whether you're in the mood for pizza, pasta, panini, gyros, or even an all-day breakfast treat, this casual spot has you covered. After a fun-filled day at Kaanapali Beach—perhaps snorkeling or soaking up the sun—Nikki's offers a perfect respite to refuel and relax.
This place is wonderful for breakfast, and late for pizza. Nice owner, and great staff. I'm very happy to come back here again and again. The breakfast burrito is delicious and the pepperoni pizza is probably Costco but it's exactly what you're looking for late at night.

Very nice place to eat at. The cashier and the cook were friendly. The pizza was very good. My wife has a turkey sandwich and she loved it. I will definitely go back for another pizza 🍕 before we go back home. Oh, I searched it thru Google Maps and it took me to the passage drop off for the mall. Nikki’s pizza is in the food court. There is a $4 for the first 30 minutes but you can get 2 hrs parking validation in the stores.

GET IT FRESH!!! BIG YUM!!! They make the sauce fresh daily (that’s the big difference in the flavor of their pizza) and they fresh cut all of their ingredients daily!!! This is one of Kaanapali’s best kept secrets!!! They are down on the second floor of the Whalers Village!!! There’s enough choices for everyone in the family. You can get a nice salad and it’s delicious or you can get an amazing pizza or a calzone and Maui. It’s the best bang for the buck in terms of food.

We were looking for a basic breakfast that wasn’t so expensive. This place was great! I am bummed I had eaten my thick toast before thinking of picture. My potatoes were fresh and hot, toast was still warm and scrambled eggs were a huge portion and still nicely warm. I ate some of them too before pic. Great basic breakfast in Maui that won’t break the bank since everything is expensive here. 😊

Came here every day for breakfast because it is AMAZING. I wake up craving the french toast with bananas. The veggie omelet is so good. A true hidden gem for breakfast! Employees are very kind as well. Highly recommend!

Had a veggie calzone from this food court restaurant. Freshly made with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, garlic, cheeses and pesto. Cooked very well and hot out of the oven. Enjoyed eating this item from their menu selection. Takes about 12-15 minutes to receive since they cook it when ordered. Their pizza is also quite good too. Will return when I visit the Whalers Village shopping area. Food court located downstairs on the 1st level of this outdoor shopping center, towards the rear of the center closer to the beach area. Parking is available in their attached parking structure. Fee is required to park at this parking lot. Self pay kiosks located before you enter the shopping center. Cc and cash accepted at kiosk, must validate parking ticket before exiting - additional exit kiosk receives validated ticket and opens exit gate bar.

I wouldn’t blame you for thinking that this tiny pizzeria in a mall food court is probably just OK, but let me tell you this little gem punches way above it's weight class! The pizza is absolutely amazing! Deliciously pully cheese, soft chewy crust, and high quality toppings make this a surprisingly good pie. Also has an extensive menu besides pizza! Even serves breakfast! Come on! They are the sweetest people making really good pizza. Try it out.

Great place to celebrate a birthday. Wonderful meal, wonderful service, and a great time. All the dished were delicious. Thank you for an amazing dinner! 🤗

We loved our server here. Not only was he great, but the entire staff seemed awesome and made the experience fabulous. We got two different streaks, and the winner was definitely the filet mignon. Both were good and had some pretty good sides. However, I did think it was a little pricey for what we got. The cheesecake was creamy and a perfect blend of ube and vanilla cheesecake.
Megan W — Google review
Roy's Kaanapali served us hostility masked by politeness. Arriving 15 minutes early for our reservation, we found the waiting area sparse but adequate for us all to sit once another party was seated. The restroom was clean and stocked. However, the hostess—a dismissive blonde woman with a bun—tried seating us, including our minor children, in the bar. When we requested another table, she curtly insisted none were available by the window. After clarifying that we hadn’t requested one by a window, she led us to a table near the kitchen—a few feet from a four-top table by the window sitting empty. That set the tone for the night. Service remained unwelcoming and rude. Our waiter, Michael, was mostly absent and brusque when present, cutting us off mid-sentence. Only one server, Sarah, showed any warmth and responded to us when we requested something. The food was mostly good but flawed. The mai tais came garnished with limes that were brown. My husband enjoyed his steak, though they were out of the lobster tail he wanted to add to it. My grilled au and shrimp duo arrived lukewarm, the fish dried out. Our daughter found her honey mustard short rib just "okay," while our son's ribeye was well-prepared but the plate presentation was clunky and lazy. The calamari was a hit, but the Caesar salad wasn’t worth the price, nor was the beet salad, which seemed to feature canned, diced beets. Service was slow—our entrées took over 20 minutes. Empty dishes and glasses gathered on the table because Michael was too busy standing at the pass to bother checking on us. In the open kitchen, cooks lacked proper equipment like a salamander, resorting to makeshift methods like holding food up to the broiler, leading to unevenly/improperly cooked dishes like my au. The final straw? Watching a party of two get seated at the once "unavailable" window table. We paid over $400 for average food and inhospitable service, spending the meal pointing out disparities in how we were treated. Lesson learned: we won’t return and I don't recommend it.

Just what you'd expect of the legendary Ray's. We've been to Poipu Grill and several on the mainland as well, and this location did not disappoint. We asked the server for a recommendation which he provided, but when we said, "we are thinking about the cioppino," he immediately responded, "get the cioppino." Cocktails - delicious (expensive $28/each!) Asian ribs appetizer - delicious Cioppino - delicious

The food was outstanding! Great selection to choose from as well. Our server was very attentive and super fun! Great place for a date night for sure!

Every single thing about Roy’s is perfection. The customer service is top notch, the timing of each dish is excellent, and above all, the flavors are immaculate. Each and every bite of all the dishes we ordered were wiped clean- way too difficult to even choose what to order because it all sounded amazing.

Ray’s is typical of most golf course restaurants no matter where you travel! Nice atmosphere, good service and good “pub” food. These places are designed to cater to golfers who just finished their round and are looking for a quick bite to eat and some drinks. It’s great to have dinner at these restaurants because you can see the beautiful golf courses while you eat! The food at Rays was very good. The fish was fresh as were the vegetables. The cocktails were very good & reasonably priced. While the atmosphere is nice, it is not a “fancy” restaurant atmosphere. It’s a golf clubhouse which is fine!

Birthday dinner bombed. No pastry chef meant no souffle or upside down cake available. Food was not great. 2 out of six orders sent back for under cooked salmon. 2 out of six orders sent back because augratain potatoes were terribly oversalted. Server was very attentive and embarressed for the poor quality. I have been coming here for years every time we come to one of the Islands that have a Roy's. Terribly dissapointing experience for my 63rd Birthday. My daughter and her husband said they will never come back and made reservations the following night at Honu two nights later to make up for our terrible experience at Roys. Honu's was 100% better environment, better food, overall better experience.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Old Lahaina Luau, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Makai Adventures - Maui Whale Watching, Dolphins, Lanai Snorkeling, Bottom Fishing. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Maui, the Old Lahaina Luau has been a cherished tradition since 1986. This iconic luau offers guests an authentic Hawaiian experience, complete with traditional cuisine that reflects the rich culinary heritage of the islands. The enchanting setting features a stage surrounded by swaying coconut trees and glowing tiki torches, creating a magical atmosphere for diners.
It’s been almost a year since our family visited and looking back it was one of the highlights of our trip! 5 adults attended (one vegetarian) and I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience. The vegetarian member had been to the excellent Lele on their honeymoon, and we had reservations for the prior year trip which we postponed. Pleasantly surprised Old Lahaina was just as good! We had an amazing table off to the right of the stage, just behind the traditional low seating (not recommend for the older generation unless you are in very good physical condition). The dance and story was outstanding. The views incredible. The food delicious and plentiful. Drinks were not watered down as some other place’s reviews mentioned. Vegetarian option was extremely well done-all dishes were very similar to the non-veg dishes but made with a veg-friendly base. I called a couple of times to insure the vegetarian guest was noted and they were beyond friendly and accommodating and even left a voicemail a day or two before to confirm everything. The weather was gorgeous and the audience participation dancing was fun to watch! Cannot wait to go back-highly recommend Old Lahaina Luau!

Hands down my husband and I’s favorite thing we did on the trip. I had watched a lot of videos from Jordan and Erica on Hawaii Vacation guide on their list for best luaus in Maui. I’m so glad we went with Old Lahaina Luau! The drinks I had here were the best I’ve ever tasted! I’m a picky eater, and Im sometimes hesitant to try new things. I ended up trying everything and I loved all the food! The food was my husbands favorite on the island! I believe our server was David and our busser was Esau, they were both very friendly and provided wonderful service. The luau itself was very impressive! The singers and dancers were just incredible. We loved learning more about the history of Hawaii and really appreciated being able to see and hear their story. I would recommend everyone do this luau at least once, it was awesome and worth the money!

We had an amazing time! They greeted us with orchid lei's and a mai Tai and told us to wonder around and enjoy the sunset. We got to watch the pig being pulled out of the ground and they entertained us all evening. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. A great experience overall and the food was decent also.

Food for me was just ok. Pre-selected menu where the food options are not flexible. But this place is all about the atmosphere, culture and the performances by the locals. Me and the wifey had a fun time. The performances were spectacular. Alcohol could be better. Location is beautiful and has a good view of the Old Lahaina sunset.
Saugat P — Google review
Is it expensive? Yes. My wife and I only thought of that going into that but once we left we realized you are getting so much for your money actually. We went here for part of our 23rd wedding anniversary and we are very glad we did. Although the parking was a bit nutty, every single person we encountered was so very nice and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. The presentations were insightful as were the dances and also beautiful to watch. HUGE shoutout to our server for recommendations on food and taking the time to explain every food stage to us in detail. Even the bussers kept our glasses topped off without fail. What else could you ask for during a beautiful starry Maui night? We haven't quit talking about our 10/10 luau experience since arriving back home. The night at OLL will be in our hearts and minds for a long time to come. Thank you.
Ken R — Google review
My overall ranking is only reduced due to exorbitant cost to attend. The cost is VERY high. We paid $460 for 2 people. Our waiters were excellent. The Hawaiian vibe is off the charts great. The performances were wonderful but lacked an eye-popping finale. Alcoholic drinks are included. The food is authentic and tasted good, but I think my expectations escalated tremendously based on the cost and as such, I was disappointed with the flavor of the fresh catch and the solitary option for desert. Starts around 5p for seating and ended around 8/8:30.

We weren’t sure which luau we wanted to do, but we are so glad we chose this one. It is not apart of a hotel which makes it more authentic of an experience. The food was AMAZING! We were so full afterwards and it’s all you can drink so you definitely get your moneys worth. They also have demonstrations prior to the show and dinner where you learn about Hawaiian customs. Our server was very attentive and friendly as well as all of the staff. You also get to take home banana bread at the end which was delicious. Great luau and great experience.

Everything moves smoothly and on time with a smile from servers. You do not feel rushed. The Everything was fantastic from Food drinks and entertainment..especially the dancing all while the sun going down and being told of the history of Hawaii. We were seated on the cushions front view.but it seemed wherever you sat the view was good. Service was excellent all the way through yo the end of the night. We'll worth $$$$paid. Nestled in Lahaina, Hawaii, Star Noodle is a beloved spot known for its Asian shared plates, noodle dishes, and sake cocktails. Since 2010, this hotspot has been serving up traditional Hawaiian comfort food in a cool space with an ocean view. The menu features a variety of shareable starter plates like smashed cucumber salads with miso-chili sauce, steamed clams with miso butter, and adobo ribs with black pepper vinegar.
We ate at Star Noodle and it was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish blew us away! The butter noodles paired perfectly with the butterfly fish, and the Singapore noodles with short rib were packed with flavor. We ended on a sweet note with the malasadas for dessert perfection. 5 stars, highly recommend this spot

We really wanted to have a WOW experience after the recommendations and reviews but it fell a little flat for us. The atmosphere is nice, just a little bright. (Would be nicer if the lights were not so bright like a cafeteria.) The front staff was polite. We were seated on time. Our waiter was lackluster… not mean but certainly not friendly. The waiter barely greeted us and seemed overall disinterested in his job. The pork buns were good, not spectacular. The Look Moore Funn had one scallop and maybe three shrimps, the portion being pretty small but it did taste good. My daughter had the garlic noodles and they were super dry, she had to add soy sauce to give it any flavor and not make it so dry. My husband had the pad Thai, he liked it but a lot of noodles with little shrimp and chicken. We probably wouldn’t go back if we were to return to Hawaii.

When I first visited Hawaii, Star Noodle was one of my most memorable stops. I tried the Star Kim Chee, Steamed Pork Buns, and Singapore Noodles — each dish had such bold flavors and felt so comforting after a long day of exploring. I finished with Malasadas, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Such a special food experience to remember my trip by!

Lighting was very bright. While 8 appreciate being able to see my food and take pictures, it would have been nice to dim them just a little. However, food was absolutely fantastic and service was excellent. Host was exceptional, kept a smile and cool head while super busy. Kept those waiting for tables organized and sat in a timely manner. Hats off to her for helping this place run like a well oiled machine. Wish we were staying longer so we could go back and try more. Can't wait for our next trip to Maui.

This place takes noodles to the next level. The dishes are prepared with so much delicate texture and flavors. The tempura shrimp is amazing! The shrimp is super fresh. The most unique piece is the shiso sprouts to bring out the shrimp freshness. Noodles are definitely freshly made or it wouldn’t be so chewy to the taste, I wonder if they mixed bud weed with wheat so not your normal ramen. I would love to come back to dine here again! Superb!

Really wanted to like this place but reviews are pretty spot on about it being overpriced and underwhelming. Food for two and one mocktail came out to about ~$150 after tax and tip but I guess thats normal for mediocre meal in Hawaii. I would not order the garlic noodles, crab and kombucha mandu or the ahi belly again. The Lahaina fried soup was the only thing we really liked. Barely any crab in the mandu, only taste the kombucha. At $18 for 3 measley pieces, a bit of a waste. Ahi belly was also tiny and overcooked. Couldn't tell if it was just any old regular piece of tuna. I've had better garlic noodles at any other vietnamese spot that included either steak or shrimp. These were lacking in flavor and didnt like the thin noodle. Service was great though. Go for the Lahaina fried soup. You can skip everything else we ordered.

We loved Star Noodle so much, we went 3 times. We especially loved the garlic noodles and the Asian ribs (they go well together). We also loved the udon soup. We had reservations the first night (the ambience was perfect), the second time we got the soup for take out, and the 3rd time we were planning on take out, but they had room at the bar. So make reservations, but if you can’t get it, take it to go and find a nice spot to eat it.

American restaurant
Mala Ocean Tavern is a charming beachfront restaurant that offers a blend of Pacific Rim and Mediterranean cuisine along with an extensive selection of wines. Chef Mark Ellman, a pioneer of the Hawaii Regional Cuisine movement, presents a menu featuring dishes such as ahi bruschetta, wok-fried Hawaiian fish, and vegan mushroom Bolognese pasta made with local shiitakes. The restaurant also serves signature cocktails like the Spa Day and the LBC.
What a pleasant surprise find near the old Mala Wharf. Apparently this place somehow survived the Lahaina fire. We came at around 3 pm, so only Happy Hour menu was available, which wasn’t bad at all. We had the taro burger (vegetarian), butter lettuce and deep fried calamari. The taro burger came with Swiss cheese and tasted very good (yes, even without any meat in it) and the fries were crispy and seasoned very well. The salad was really fresh and the dressing was on the sweet side, but acceptable. The calamari was excellent paired with artichoke tartar sauce. The service was excellent from the entire team and our server, China, was friendly and helpful. Now, the seating area was the highlight as the waves were splashing our table while we dine. An added bonus, sea turtle would come to the rocky shore below restaurant m’a windows to munch on the algae. We saw a couple of young ones while we were there. Parking spaces were limited rat the restaurant, but there’s a huge lot across the street where Safeway and the ABC Store are located. The drinks were good as well.

Mala Ocean Tavern completely exceeded our expectations! The food and service were absolutely top-notch. I had the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My fiancé ordered the scallops, and they were perfectly seared and bursting with flavor. To top it all off, we finished with the affogato, which was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. The atmosphere and ocean views made the experience even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an incredible dining experience in Maui!

My partner and I have been to most restaurants in and around Lahaina, and we were so happy to have found Mala! We’re both gluten-free and total foodies, and it’s rare to find a place that delivers on both flavor and service — but Mala absolutely did. Our server Thomas was the BEST — friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He knew all the specials, kept our glasses full, and made sure our table was always clean without hovering. The food was outstanding, and Thomas went above and beyond by helping us secure Mother’s Day / birthday reservations seven months in advance! He even introduced us to Sergio, the manager, who took amazing care of us as well. Everything about our experience was perfect — the food, the service, the vibe. If you’re anywhere near Lahaina, do yourself a favor and pull up to Mala for a fantastic meal and some of the best service you’ll find anywhere.

Came here on a Saturday night , day after Halloween, place was half full. I’ve heard a lot about Mala from family & friends , knew i was in for a treat. My wife, 25 weeks pregnant , eats plant based and there were several options for her. Our server, Carlos, was soft spoken but confident & gave us great pointers - he’s someone you just know you can trust. I got the ceviche w the sweet potato Chips , my wife got the Brussel sprouts to start, both were just fantastic! The brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection & the ceviche i got was in this rich coconut broth that i ended up drinking. Really refined and confident flavors. For our main dish, my wife got the vegan curry & i was stuck between the pork shank (Carlos said it falls off the bone) and the pan seared mahi mahi (which i ended up getting). While the portion size of the mahi mahi was on the smaller side, the actual dish was huge — Yukon potatoes and a great ginger sauce with mushrooms and carrots - just really full flavor. Id like to note that i got their version of a Mai tai as well as a gin drink that were some of the best cocktails I had during our trip. Pricing was fair and the food quality was just superb - couple that with Carlos service and the incredible waterfront views — you got yourself a fantastic meal . Would RUN back. Also, their sambal was SPICY!

Would not come back here. We had dinner here last night for my husband’s birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Our server was wonderful—warm, attentive, and accommodating—and our table by the ocean was beautiful. However, the food quality and flavor fell far short of expectations, especially for a restaurant so highly rated. It honestly ruined what was meant to be a special evening; we didn’t even feel like ordering dessert to celebrate. For starters, we ordered the Ube bread and the Poisson Cru. The bread arrived cold in the middle, suggesting it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The Poisson Cru lacked the salt, lime, and chili flavor described on the menu—it tasted mostly like fish in plain coconut milk. We then ordered the Caesar salad and the Surf & Turf. The salad was decent, though overly dressed. The Surf & Turf, however, was the most disappointing dish of the night. The filet mignon had no seasoning or flavor, the octopus was bland, and the potatoes on the side resembled unseasoned breakfast potatoes rather than a dinner accompaniment. Given the restaurant’s reputation and glowing reviews, we expected a refined, flavorful dining experience. Unfortunately, the dishes lacked balance and care in execution. The service and setting were excellent, but the food was simply not up to par—especially for a special occasion.

🌊 Pure Magic at Mala Ocean Tavern, Maui 🌴 I’m still in awe of the experience we had at Mala Ocean Tavern — it was absolute perfection from start to finish. I went for the surf and turf (and couldn’t resist adding scallops 😋), while my wife had the green curry with seafood, and every bite was pure heaven. What made it even more unforgettable was the ocean view, just steps away — the sound of the waves, the warm breeze, and that Maui sunset painting the sky. 🌅 The staff went above and beyond — so kind, attentive, and full of great recommendations that made the meal even more special. It’s one of those rare moments where everything just clicks — incredible food, an amazing team, and the beauty of nature all around you. Feeling so grateful to have experienced it. 💙

Whale watching tour agency
Boat tour agency
Makai Adventures in Maui offers a variety of ocean experiences, including whale watching, dolphin encounters, snorkeling at Lanai, and bottom fishing. The company provides opportunities to witness humpback whales that migrate from Alaska to the warmer Hawaiian waters during winter months. Visitors can observe these majestic creatures up close through guided tours on the water. Humpback whales are typically present in Maui from November to mid-May and can be spotted near the shore with their distinctive grayish-black appearance and white markings.
My friend booked a Whale watching tour for us and I was so impressed. Loved the all girl crew of Kristy and Tiffany. We saw so many whales, momma and baby, several groups of whales, lots of fin slapping, a couple breaches too. I was lucky enough to capture one on camera. I would highly suggest this tour as they have a boat that is clean, comfortable and able to move quickly to catch up to the whales. They are knowledgeable about whales as well. Great time, awesome experience.

We had the absolute best time whale watching with Makai Adventures! We took the 4pm sunset tour which I would highly recommend - Golden hour for any photographers out there! First and foremost the staff was amazing which can be a real make or break on any tour - they were so warm and welcoming from the very start and made sure to give everyone important info upfront. They were super engaging the whole trip, knew exactly which spots to take us to to see the most whales and we learned so much! On our tour we saw two different sets of Mama whales and their calves - our guides explained the different behaviors and patterns were were seeing and it was so cool to know what was happening aside from just seeing them (which was also incredible). We will absolutely book with Makai Adventures next time we are in town. Incredible experience!! Also hot tip - the dock where the boat goes out of is right next to a little beach which we enjoyed taking a sunset walk on right after our tour :) there are great dinner options nearby as well!

I took a 4:00 pm whale watching tour and had an amazing time with Noah and Sylvia as my guides! They were extremely knowledgeable and easy-going people. I enjoyed being on a comfortable, smaller boat since it made the experience more intimate. I normally get motion sickness, but I felt fine on the boat. Since Noah and Sylvia were always quick to bring us straight to the action, we saw a ton of whales! We saw spouts, breaches, and baby and momma whales alongside their escorts. I highly recommend!

We came upon a Mom And calf and it was a Delight to watch the calf learning new behaviors! The whales even came closer to the boat , which was nice! I want to give a Shout out to Eva who coordinates the reservations and checks in the passengers. She really went above and beyond, helping my mom and I when we needed to change our whale watch date due to a mechanical there boat was having! She even gave us each a free whale watch later in the week! It was a Really nice Surprise! I would highly recommend Makai Adventures!!!

Highly recommend Makai Adventures for whale watching 🐳 From the moment I first called Makai Adventures I knew I was in good hands. Eva assisted me with booking my whale watching reservation and was an absolute delight- friendly, patient and informative. Noah and Andrea (boat crew) were very personable and provided us with an abundance of whale facts throughout our 2 hour excursion. The boat is comfortable as it holds 25 passengers and they book 20 at full capacity. There are seats in the front with cushion seats and backs (this area seemed to get more sun exposure) and there are some covered seats in the back for those that wish to stay out of the sun. ✨Pro Tips ✨ Arrive early to allow time to find parking, use the restroom and navigate your way to the boat ramp for check-in. Bring sunnies, hat, sunscreen, water, camera, cash (for tip) and good vibes! Wear easy to slip on and off shoes. There are NO restrooms on the boat. If you park at the cannery, there is a restroom in Safeway and there is also a restroom at the beach park near Mala boat ramp. They are temporarily located at Mala Boat Ramp post Lahaina fire. There is no signage, simply look for a person wearing a white Makai shirt to check-in with. ENJOY! ✨🐳🩵

We were fortunate to see a few whales breaching with one of them breaching more than a dozen times. Friendly and informative crew made it a fantastic trip!!

I booked a tour with my friend on Monday, 1/20, with Captain Levi & Tiffany:) Our small group spotted several whales; mama’s with babies, and an escort! Tiffany shared an extensive background on humpbacks. I was able to capture some nice pics, especially flukes! Unfortunately, our boat’s battery went dead, but our crew ensured our safety until our rescue boat arrived….most everyone embarked except my friend & I. We listened to recordings of whales communicating with each other and learned more about these magnificent creatures:)) We were eventually given a ride in a zodiac with Tiffany at the helm, and we safely returned to our dock. I was impressed with our crew’s professional & friendly manner, in addition to their vast knowledge. I would go with Makai again without hesitation. The company contacted us very soon after our return & offered a refund or another trip. Impressive!

The restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring delectable seafood options, including highly recommended fish tacos and an impressive variety of margaritas. Additionally, Frida's boasts an extensive selection of over forty tequilas for patrons to explore.
This was one of our favorite meals during our 7 night stay in Maui. Wet burrito and the pork enchiladas were phenomenal. Great views, breezy comfortable seating. Nice staff. Go here!!

Interesting flavors. Beautiful view. Beef and chicken are good. Flavors in rice and beans are very light. Topping cheese is lovely. Be wary of the specialty drinks... the flavors may surprise you. Give it a try with good company. Parking may vary, come between 4 and 5 for best options.

We had a party of four reservation. Beautiful seating right next to the beach. We had the additional pleasure of a beautiful sunset. Nachos and sauce are not free to the table so there is a minor charge. The salsa for the chips is unique. it was flavorful but it was different from any other Mexican restaurant I've ever been to and not a big fan of it. I tried their octopus which was cooked to perfection, very tender, just delicious. They have a butterscotch pot de cream dessert also that is very tasty that we had. We ordered margaritas. Typically we would order a half pitcher of margaritas when we go to our favorite Mexican restaurant however on Maui you cannot order drinks by the pitcher. The margaritas that were served were very flavorful nice size and reasonably priced and they were well made.

Tried to make reservations and were unable to. Were able to get a table though. The food was good although a little pricey. The staff was nice and we were a le to get tea refills but getting a diet soda refill was much more difficult. The guacamole was huge and came with its own chips. The salsa verde was a little bland but the pork had a good flavor.

Great food, great service, incredible views! I could turn around and watch whales jumping way out in the channel. Absolutely A great place. It started out with just three of us and eventually they added three more to our table 😝🤙🏽 and were super accommodating. Couldn’t have been more gracious and we had a blast. We all shared the dessert… 😋

We wanted Mexican food so on the recommendation of our concierge we went. We had a super friendly server named Michelle who helped us navigate the menu. Food was excellent! Loved the cilantro lime rice! There is ala carte items like one taco etc. that isn't listed on the menu and Michelle also brought us a small guacamole that wasn't listed. Great service! Everyone works together, filling drinks, clearing plates and taking care of you! Beautiful view while we dined outside.

There was a long wait for a table when we got there, but bar seating is first come first serve so we ate at the bar. The view is amazing for sunset. They have a great selection of tequilas. For food, go for the seafood options. The ceviche was SO fresh. Asked for their house made mango habanero hot sauce, it's sweet with a spicy kick and perfect on tacos.

Stumbled here on a whim. Service was friendly and efficient. The food and drinks were delicious. This is a casual setting situated right on the beach. They have plentiful portions and the food is tasty. Highly recommended if you’re looking for casual Mexican in an excellent location.

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled at the far end of Lahaina's Front Street, Honu Oceanside is a beloved gem that perfectly captures the essence of Maui dining. This charming eatery boasts a modern industrial decor and offers an inviting atmosphere just steps from the ocean. With roots in New England cuisine, it has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike, thanks to its delicious brick-oven pizzas and standout seafood dishes.
We came here for our 35th wedding anniversary. So glad we did! The staff is very friendly and attentive. They made our evening feel very special. We were seated at a table on the terrace. We both ordered an excellent chardonnay that was available and paired well with our seafood dishes. About halfway through the meal, they raised the screens so everyone could view the sun setting. What an incredible and serene experience. Thank you to the entire staff - those seen and behind the scenes for all you do to welcome us like family and yet serve us like royalty.

Outstanding meal. Every plate was perfectly displayed as the flavors perfectly matched. Dishes that leave you craving them days later. We started with the Ahi, followed by the octopus and ending with the crab Mac and cheese and filet migon. Incredible flavors, fresh as the ocean and seasoned so perfectly. Even the carrots were charred perfectly. We ended with the butterscotch pot de crème! This was far better than Merriman.

We happened upon this delightful restaurant. We didn’t have reservations but @5:30 we were able to get in & get a beautiful view. The hostesses were very nice & sat us right away. We had a great server as well, lovely lady whose name I forgot. But the food was so great. So many different flavors combined in unique ways. The cocktails were great as well. Very lovely spot right on the water!

A friend recommended going to Honu, so we came for our last night in Maui & all I can say is wow! The view of the ocean is amazing. Our server, Megan, was great. We were given a complimentary toast for our honeymoon & the food was delicious. It was cheaper than Mama’s Fish House but still expensive, although I think it was worth every penny. I’m so happy we came here before leaving.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and made a reservation at Honu Oceanside, and it may end up being the best decision we make on this trip. This was easily one of the best dining experiences we have EVER had. We sat down outside on the patio sitting right on the edge of the ocean, a truly breathtaking view. We were quickly greeted by our server Megan who was FANTASTIC, she was beyond helpful for us picking food and cocktails on the menu to try and she nailed every suggestion. She was quick to get our drinks and food out and was right there for when we needed anything all night I’ve never had better service at a restaurant. Appetizers we got the Cesar salad, Burrata, & the Filet Mignon Carpaccio and my god were they all 10/10. For dinner I got the Crab Mac & cheese, she got the Scallops. The only down side of getting the appetizers we got was saving room for dinner we both were licking the plate for everything they brought out. To cap off the story we were unlucky in the sense that we were told it never rains in this area and it has been going through a drought, and low and behold while we’re at this amazing spot Mother Nature didn’t want to cooperate. On the fly Megan and Justin one of the owners came over scooted our table under some cover, and made us feel as comfortable as they possibly could have. My wife was sitting there a tad chilly from the wind and rain, and the brought over a shall for her to put on. Seems like small details but I couldn’t leave this part out because of how above and beyond the went from the moment we walked in. Megan, Justin, and the entire staff thank you so much for making this a truly unforgettable dining experience on our honeymoon. If you have got to the end of this long winded review I would do anything possible to get a reservation at Honu Oceanside you will NOT regret it!!!!!

This place was truly the cherry on top of an amazing honeymoon! My husband and I went here for our last dinner in Hawaii before heading home and it didn’t disappoint. The service was excellent from the start. The view was obviously gorgeous and seriously the most ideal spot for a romantic dinner. But the view is a given, it’s the food, beverage and service that make it spectacular. Our cocktails were delicious and the chefs special (mahi mahi with lobster bisque risotto) was to insanely delicious. They sent us the cutest dessert in celebration too, a very nice touch. Book a table here! Honu Team, thank you for such a memorable and special dining experience!

Had dinner here recently after making reservations for an oceanside table and what an amazing experience it was! We were assisted by Jordan who ensured we had an absolutely amazing experience. She was assisted by other staff who all worked to make out experience wonderful. Appetizers included a very flavorful Kale Salad and Carpaccio. Main course included a grilled Mahi mahi and filet mignon which here made to perfection! Dessert included a dish I highly recommend, the Butterscotch Pot de Creme (picture included). It was so amazing we had to take an extra back for another day! Everything was perfect from reservations (highly recommended) to departure. We will definitely be back for more!

The best meal we had on Maui. Jerry and Pam took amazing care of us. The food was to die for and the service to match. Beautiful sunset view on the water. The scallops were the best we have ever had and the steak was cooked perfectly. Don’t forget the banana coconut crème pie, amazing. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Restaurant
Aloha Mixed Plate offers a relaxed, beachside setting with open-air patio seating and stunning oceanfront views. The restaurant serves traditional Hawaiian platters in generous portions, inspired by the old plantation days when diverse cultures gathered with their simple lunches. The menu reflects the history of various dishes and cultures, featuring flavors like teriyaki beef, chicken adobo, kalbi, rice noodles, and the signature Ali Plate with Lau Lau royal lunch.
I am usually skeptical about hotel recommendations for restaurants but this time I am glad we went with it. The views of sunset were spectacular. The food was all pretty good and good portions. But the service is what made this place great. I very much liked the lau lau for my plate. Would definitely come again

Best experience was the food. I got the Ceasar salad with fish and the fish that day was swordfish. The swordfish was grilled I believe, and it tasted pretty meaty which was great. The salad was prepared very well and tasted refreshing especially since it was a very bright day. The price for this was reasonable. The atmosphere wasnt bad, sitting outside but with shade. The service was not bad, just wished we got our waters sooner since it was a scorching day. Wouldn't mind coming back.
Joe T — Google review
My recent dinner at Aloha Mixed Plate was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, everything delivered — and the highlight has to be the swordfish special. It was cooked to perfection and quite literally melted in my mouth. I’ve had many fish dishes, but this one stood out. My wife ordered the Ali‘i plate and raved about the lū lū — rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. Meanwhile, my buddy went with the mixed plate and demolished it before I could even ask how it was. The portions were generous, the flavors bold yet balanced, and the overall vibe of the place was relaxed and authentically Hawaiian. Service was friendly and efficient, and the setting on Front Street adds that breezy island charm without sacrificing comfort. If you find the swordfish special on the menu, do yourself a favor and go for it — you won’t regret it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lahaina who wants a meal that feels both local and top-tier. Five stars without hesitation.

There’s parking in front. As soon as you walk in, you feel the island vibes. Beautiful surroundings with a direct ocean view. Very clean. Friendly staff. The drinks are beautiful and well-made. Recommend the mai tai. For food, recommend the aloha mixed plate Which has a little bit of everything, including short rib, pork, chicken, fish, macaroni, rice. We also got the fish plate of the day, which was a bunch of swordfish fillets, and a delicious pineapple salsa on top.

👏🏼 Cute spot with delicious food! The kalbi ribs were fantastic as was the fish plate. Everyone loved everything, the mixed plate seemed like a great way to try a mix ⭐️ Go for the coconut shrimp and chicken wings to start if you’re hungry and you can’t go wrong with the Mai Tai! And if it’s not busy you might be able to sneak a peak at the luau next door

Laidback Hawaiian spot with a happy hour next to the beach. Came here for a late lunch and we were able to get seated immediately. I had the aloha mixed plate while my boyfriend had a burger with the furikake fries. The view was really nice, as we overlooked the ocean and could hear the luau next door gearing up. They have a parking lot and credit cards are accepted. The restrooms are located around the corner of the restaurant. It’s kid friendly and very chill.

The outdoor seating with a view of the ocean was the first thing we noticed when we arrived. We had to wait nearly 5 minutes for the hostess to return before we could be seated. All the staff we interacted with seemed rather crabby. When I asked the bartender if there was a hostess, he quickly replied "Just wait." When the hostess arrived, she asked if we had reservations. We politely replied, we did not and were shown to our table. The waiter arrived and started arguing with us about a dish. Not sure why that was necessary. However, we settled on our order and brushed it off. Meals came out and had a lovely presentation. The flower on the plate was a nice touch. The sauces used to season the proteins on both our dishes was quite good. However, all the proteins we had were way over cooked and quite dry. Perhaps we just came on and off night for the staff. There are many other Hawaiian cuisine restaurants to try.

Food and drink was phenomenal except the Mac salad was sort of too simple. I was expecting something else. On our first day in Maui we ate at one place and they had Mac salad that I was hooked since then everywhere we got Hawaiian foods with side of Mac salad I was thought I’ll have the same but actually this one was missing tuna salad in it. Jennifer our waitress was friendly and helpful. At the time we were there (Saturday), they had live music and make it even nicer to ending the evening.

Kobe Japanese Steak House & Oku's Sushi Bar is a popular spot in Lahaina Town, offering a casual yet authentic Japanese dining experience. With over 30 years of history, it's known for its teppanyaki, steak, and sushi. The restaurant has a chill vibe and friendly service, with experienced chefs who entertain guests during the teppan cooking.
Love this place. Fantastic food cooked right before you and served with flair and personality. Make a reservation as they are busy. They managed to squeeze us in on a stormy night, and we felt blessed.

We enjoyed our experience at Kobe. The service was very good and our waiter took very good care of us while we celebrated my wife’s birthday. Our chef was funny and entertaining. The food was good, but not as good as similar teppanyaki style places. My steak was over cooked for medium rare and my vegetables were almost exclusively onions. The other vegetables looked good, but alas, I’ll never know. The shrimp was great and made the meal for me. My wife and kids liked their meals well enough but also felt better food and flavors were to be had back home.
Bruce B — Google review
Chill vibe in a long running teppan yaki restaurant (over 35 years at the time of this writing). Chef’s are on the older side and create the chill vibe but don’t expect some of the more energetic teppan tricks, but overall it’s a win with a friendly service. Gets an extra star for reasonable prices, something rare in this area.

Great hibachi. Chef was entertaining and interactive. Kobe steak special was great. A whole NY strip 12-16 oz so it was a large portion. Flavoring was mediocre though. Garlic fried rice was a bit too much garlic. Bar drinks were strong and good.

An amazing experience. Our first time in Hawaii and was told to definitely go see the oldest living banyan tree, glad we did. If iever get back to Maui i will be returning to the harbor and the courtyard there on Front St across from the wharf...also a great dining and shopping experience.

This tree is amazing! We passed under here in the early morning while going to the harbor for an excursion and could not believe all the birds and roosters that lived in it. It is definitely something b to see while visiting Maui.

This court is a must see. Tree lovers beware, the center tree has branched out and rooted all the other trees that line the court. It’s an amazing sight to see. Yes, there are homeless people sitting around the park if only we took the time to speak to them you might learn a bit more about the history of the park and the tree than what’s displayed on plaques. During the month of December is lined with beautiful colorful lights. I definitely recommend visiting this area.

Exquisite banyan court. The tree is massive and is a very cool thing to visit. Love how the tree is supported by many other trees. Make sure to go through the entire circle to appreciate all of it. Mid day is a good time to go when the crowd seems to be less.

Incredible tree. Must see if you are a nature lover. The birds are loud on certain spots. Tourist are not the best behaved. Signs all over asking people not to climb the tree but of course I saw people on the tree. Not sure why people can't be more respectful.

Absolutely stunning. Ample seating and people willing to take your picture. A must see in Lahaina. Many signs are up saying don’t climb the tree but many children (& their parents) continue to do so, which is unfortunate for & disrespectful to the tree.

Great place to sit and relax. It's nice and shady with a bunch of sitting areas. The tree itself is so unique. I've never seen anything like it. Parking was the only downside to visiting here.
Brogan S — Google review
If you are in the Lahaina area you must stop by and see this tree among many other amazing sites. The photos don't do this tree any justice. It's one continuous organic lifeform that seemingly sprouts up in many directions from the court grounds. The immense size is truly awe-inspiring. You will see one brach originate from the main tree and seamlessly transforms into multiple other trees. Visually unexplainable and yet something truly to behold. Take a lot of pics, because people won't believe you on how awesome this tree is.

I love the atmosphere at Down the Hatch. We do not typically drink, but for us the draw was outdoor seating, to enjoy both tropical climate and sports TV. I never take great food for granted and servers were enthusiastic. We did not actually eat there this visit but I checked it out while I was waiting for an order upstairs. My review of the food specifically, was based on our experience from over a year ago, pre-COVID. Recently, they had better business than most restaurants (less than 50 percent), probably because all their seating is outdoors.

We loved our meal at Down the Hatch. It had a great atmosphere and the food was really good. There was also live music at lunch time, which was really enjoyable. The amenities right in the front of the shops were really excellent. We also used the bathrooms...they were a bit of a hike and I feel like they were pretty inaccessible. I would not send a kid to find them on their own. They weren't dirty bathrooms but they are dimly lit and in a remote section of the shopping complex. The rest of the center seems to have a lot of shopping options. We enjoyed our visit.

Atlantis Submarines Maui offers a unique underwater adventure for those who want to explore the ocean without snorkeling or scuba diving. The submarine takes you on a two-hour journey, descending up to 100 feet below the surface to encounter vibrant coral reefs and tropical fish. It's an ideal option for people with disabilities or those who prefer not to swim.
We had an amazing time on this tour. The sub was a true sub, not just a boat with underwater viewing. It was air conditioned and spacious, as subs go, so you are comfortable the entire time you are down. Our teens had a blast seeing the different fish, rays and sharks. The narrator/guide on our tour was fun and armed with a ton of dad jokes. You will enjoy this tour for sure.

This review is a little late, but the experience was truly unforgettable. My husband planned a three-part birthday surprise for me—first was a breathtaking helicopter ride, second was this incredible Atlantis submarine adventure, and third was a fancy luau to wrap up the day. It was the first submarine ride for our little family of four, including our two young daughters, and it was beyond anything we imagined. We were lucky to have only half the usual number of guests on board, which made the experience feel even more personal and relaxed. The captain was excellent—skilled, calm, and informative. We saw so many fascinating things underwater, including a sunken ship and even a pregnant shark. It felt surreal and was also such a fun educational experience. My daughters were in awe, and so were we. Thank you, Atlantis Submarines, for being such a special part of a very memorable birthday.

What an incredible experience to view the ocean life from inside a submarine! We had the perfect weather, clearer than average underwater views, and all members of the crew were friendly, funny, and knowledgeable! 10/10 recommend booking this excursion! We were lucky enough to see a spotted eagle ray, shark, and (of course) tons of fish! We dove to a depth of 130 feet and loved seeing everything along the way! It was hard not to feel like a giddy child the entire trip "oohing and ahhing" over the sea creatures. We thoroughly LOVED our trip with Atlantis Submarines!
Jauqulyn S — Google review
Our guide Brandon was very funny and engaging. On the boat ride to the sub we saw whales! The sub ride was fun and the view was great, but the windows are definitely at child height. Sitting on the benches we had to lean way forward which grew uncomfortable for our necks and shoulders after a while. Brian in the cockpit was an excellent pilot. Overall a very fun experience! On the way back to the port we saw a magnificent horizontal rainbow and more whales!
S T — Google review
Such a cool experience! Great crew members, lots of sea life, and highly recommended for first timers! I’m very susceptible to motion sickness and didn’t take anything with this trip and only had a moment of wooziness. The cabin is pressurized and has AC. The crew is very funny and entertaining, yet share a lot of cool facts too. Definitely experience it!
Jennifer B — Google review
Friendly and professional staff contribute to an awesome underwater excursion. The submarines are clean, relatively quiet and have enough room so that you don't feel confined. The tour is informative with a running live commentary by experienced and knowledgeable guides. A great way to go underwater to see Maui's denizens of the deep without having to don skuba gear. A wonderful experience.
Richard R — Google review
This review is based solely on the sole purpose of the voyage, to see sea life. Overall, it was a fun experience. The host was knowledgeable and witty. The crew was very nice and efficient. It was a fun voyage. But honestly the type of sea life, the health of the coral, a tourist trap of a sunken ship, and other unimpressive sites overall are what you are about to experience.
The A — Google review
Overall the hype is overrated. Was expecting a little more from the experience for the premium we had to pay which was over $100 a person. It started out with a 10 -15 min boat ride to middle of the ocean where the submarine was located. I'm glad the host (Steve) was funny with his corny punch lines and 'Dad' jokes. Once we arrived to the location of the submarine, we waited for the sub to surface which was pretty cool to see. We had to wait for the previous group to board onto our boat and then we boarded. The layout of the sub is 2 entrances on the top - one in the front and and the other on the back. Inside the sub were 2 rows of seats - one of the port and the other facing the starboard side. (I think it could for fit up to 40 people but we had 28 people in our group). Once ready, we submerged to 100ft deep and started the tour - that's where everything went mediocre. Also, the viewing windows are positioned too low and the person had to lean over and stick their neck awkwardly to get a good view out of the window. Don't get me wrong, we saw fish, coral reef, a sunken ship but it got boring really quick. We made 5 stops in the ocean which lasted approximately 90 mins.

The brunch-centric spot boasts enduring oceanic views and serves breakfast and lunch offerings that push culinary boundaries.
The best Sunday brunch! Chef Lee Anne Wong has completely transformed the pioneer inn. The food is fresh and delicious with an ever changing menu. You can taste the fresh local ingredients! The French toast is next level along with the Ramen. Order a bunch and share with the table.

Absolutely LOVE this place! My partner and i have been looking for “our brunch spot” and i think we’ve found it here💛🌱 We don’t even drink but we sit at the bar each time we come. The bartenders are super friendly, helpful, and great guys. Joe, Mitch, and Shane. The food has been phenomenal every time. HIGHLY highly recommend this place to locals and those visiting!

If you are looking for a unique breakfast experience and dish then I HIGHLY recommend this place. I learned only after going that the head chef has won a season of top chef or something equivalent to. We started out with the breakfast Ramen and I was absolutely blown away. The maple butter in the broth was just another layer to this magnificent flavor already in this dish. The second choice we ordered was the mapo moco which was another amazing twist on an already great classic. Highly recommend and would love to try this place at a later time for dinner.

As a fan of top chef I was very excited to visit Papa’aina while visiting Maui. We visited twice during our trip, once for breakfast and once for dinner. For dinner we had a reservation, but for breakfast we walked in very early. All of the food was very impressive! Everything was super fresh and incredibly flavorful. Each dish had something that surprised us and we absolutely loved it. My personal highlights were both the breakfast dishes, the special omelet and mahi mahi eggs Benedict, the heirloom tomato salad (prepared literally perfectly, I’ll never forget that vinaigrette), and the beignet desert. Oh and the crudo! I cannot wait to visit Maui again so I can eat here ♥️

We were here two weeks ago for breakfast. Out of our entire Maui trip this was one of, if not the, best meals we had on the island! We sat in the back courtyard which was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. We got a round of drinks to start our vacation off right and we're not disappointed with the bloody Mary and salty dog (both had gin substitutions for the vodka). Our server was fantastic! I can't remember her name...but she was a fellow Californian and had some killer recommendations for the menu and other local places to check out. To eat, we got the French toast and crispy ramen - I normally don't go for sweet breakfast, but as we were on vacation I went for it and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The flavor, texture, and presentation was on point. The crispy ramen was unique, but super good. The egg was perfectly cooked, the pork was delicious, and the noodles were crispy but also softened up if it sat in the sauce. I would definitely recommend stopping by here for breakfast if you are on the West side of the island!

Nice place with harbor views and laid back atmosphere. Visited for breakfast. Staff was warm and friendly. Breakfast menu looks like someone wants to be fancy with the menu. Fancy stuff is good, but including a few more basic and/or local choices would be great too. I had corn flake crusted french toast. Very good, but I would have liked it better without the whipped cream (just my preference).

Menu is full of wonderful sounding choices, and the food is delicious. Just missed 5 stars because our food (for 2) did not come out together, which we saw happen at other tables as well. We recommend for brunch and we will be back.

I came here for breakfast and it was damn delicious. Loved the courteousness of the staff. People here are so welcoming. Ordered Egg Sandwich Bagel with Potatoes on side - can be customized however you want it to be. The ambiance is great in this restaurant with vintage and rustic theme all over the place.

Fleetwood's on Front St. is an upscale-casual American restaurant owned by drummer Mick Fleetwood, featuring a rooftop bar with stunning ocean views. The restaurant is a popular spot in Lahaina, offering a diverse menu and live music entertainment. Additionally, it serves as the meeting point for Hawaii Tasting Tours, where guests embark on a culinary journey through premier restaurants in the area. The establishment also offers deep-dish pizzas and signature dishes like sesame chicken salad and pizookie.
Choices were difficult to make as everything sounded so amazing! I ended up going with the burger as it gave me more options for adding extra sides. Everything was amazing, I sincerely was having trouble deciding which bite to choose next as all the flavors were delicious. Our waitress Michelle, was great and fun and fit our personalities. The view on the roof is fun and we unfortunately missed the opportunity to watch Mick Fleetwood actually play the day after our reservation! Oh, one more important think…. Book your reservation as soon as possible, they allow reservations one month ahead.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Fleetwood’s! Our server was fantastic and really helped us pick out the best items on the menu based on our preferences. If you catch some of the live music, it’s really great too. The food was decent, I enjoyed the seafood linguine but I do think it is an expensive place to dine. This is a great spot for a fun and memorable night in Maui, and I would recommend it if you want to treat yourself or your loved ones.

Went for happy hour. Multiple sequential host stand checkin steps, but was seated without in due delay. Happy hour drink pricing was excellent. We sat outside but under shade. Food came out quickly. We would go back. Be sure to make reservation in advance.

Killer spot. Excellent venue, incredible food. We didn’t have a reservation and waited 1 hour. Lots of bars within walking distance so no big deal. I ordered the roast chicken which was so moist! My partner ordered some fish dish which he enjoyed.

We had a phenomenal date night here. We came on Valentine’s Day, and had a reservation on the rooftop. Because of poor weather, there was no live music outside. Our waitress, Monica, was so amazing and found us a table inside so we could have our dessert with the music inside. I would absolutely come back!

Oh my gosh! Some of the best food I've ever tasted came from this restaurant. We made a reservation for happy hour and sat on the rooftop bar. Such a beautiful view and limited happy hour selection was perfect! The Fleetwood Mac n Cheese is to die for. The shrimp and oysters were delicious!! So glad we were able to get reservations!

Where to start? Had a wonderful experience celebrating our wedding anniversary dinner! Alissa our server was so nice, sweet and very efficient. Made an online reservation 1 month in advance for rooftop dining through opentable. Got in around 5:45 pm for the nighttime ceremony. They gave us complimentary glasses of champagne and a Happy Anniversary card. We had the chefs special for the night, which is shared by 2 people. It was a surf and turf special beef wellington wrapped in prosciutto, lobster, scallop, prawns with mashed potato and brussels sprouts. We also had a crab cake appetizers and drinks. Everything was on point from the ambiance, food and great customer service. I definitely recommend this place. They make you feel special.

Just had the most amazing dinner. Our server Travis and manager Brandy were great when they found out the original server had not come to our table for 15 minutes after being seated. Their customer service was outstanding! The food was very well prepared. Travis recommended the monchong and it was so tasty. My wife had the prawns and she adored them. One surprise-there is a bagpiper that plays for 20 minutes starting around 6pm. Very entertaining and he was the icing on top. Great experience and will cherish the memory of our meal!

Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice in Lahaina is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic taste of Hawaii. This renowned spot, brought to Hawaii by Japanese immigrants, offers over 30 local Hawaiian and global flavors made with 100% pure cane sugar. The fluffy shave ice melts delicately in your mouth and is topped with exotic, house-made syrups crafted from fresh local ingredients.
The cool refreshing treat you love to eat. There are so many combinations and choices of poured flavors on the menu you better make up your mind quick. Went on a Saturday and the two windows had the line moving quickly. There is a shop for purchase of clothes and stickers and handbags. The texture is so light and fluffy that it doesn’t feel too filling like ice cream. Would definitely come back again.
Andrew T — Google review
THE BEST SHAVE ICE EVER! take any shave ice you've eaten (bahama bucks, matsumotos, your local stand) and times it by 5! All the syrups are so fresh and yummy, the ice cream is locally made, and the ice itself is so soft and perfect. We came here 6 times in 6 days. The last time we came they accidentally mixed up my order, so they gave us the one they messed up, a new correct one, and an extra bowl of macadamia nut ice cream! The line can be long but so worth it.
Madison O — Google review
WOW, best shave ice in Maui! I have to say this place was truly the best we had shave ice in 4 other locations but this one was 10/10 so many flavors to choose from definitely recommend it if you’re in Maui. Go with time there’s always a line but definitely worth the wait.
Yessika B — Google review
First time for shaved ice and I loved it. There is a fair queue, but it is sheltered from the sun so bearable. The menu is on the website so you can choose whilst you wait. The queue is worth it. Best location on the island. Top tip - don't worry about ice cream base or 'snow cap'. Try unadulterated first. Ululani size is fine for two to share or one of you want a lot on your own. If there isn't enough concentrate then they will add more for free (wasn't a problem for us). Several sugar free options for those wanting to limit sugar intake. There are also a lot of sheltered seats a little further back from the street - just keep walking.

Best shave ice I’ve ever had! We came back 2 more times because it was so good. The first time I tried it with a scoop of coconut ice cream underneath. While it was very tasty, it wasn’t totally necessary. The staff was super helpful in deciding what flavors to put together and which combinations to recommend. I personally liked the green tea and coconut together. The shave ice isn’t actually very icy and has a very light, airy texture. This is a definite must try place in Maui!
A K — Google review
This is my go to shave ice place on Maui. It’s so good!! I usually get the Ulu size with mac nut ice cream and three flavors. Passion fruit is one of my favorites, guava, pineapple, etc. I finish it off with a snow cap which is evaporated milk 😋 I’ve been getting the kid’s size (Keiki) more often and it’s actually an even better size if you want the sweets but don’t want too much. Sometimes there’s a bit too much syrup with the smaller size.
Kristin G — Google review
Amazing shaved ice place. A lot of friends recommended this and I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed. They have variety of options. I like their fruit flavors. You won’t get most of them on mainland USA.
Shreyas K — Google review
A fun experience when in Hawaii! Be prepared to wait in line, but the shave ice is a fun and delicious treat. I highly recommend getting the ice cream at the bottom, and getting vibrant flavors -- cherry, blue raspberry, pineapple, etc. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

Nestled in the historic town of Lahaina, Lahaina Grill has been a top dining destination for over two decades. This elegant restaurant offers a blend of locally sourced ingredients and international cooking methods to craft innovative New American cuisine. The ambiance is equally impressive, with fine china and crystal adorning the tables, vibrant paintings by renowned artist Jan Kasprzycki gracing the walls, and charming pressed tin ceilings adding to the overall inviting atmosphere.
Lovely vibe, incredible food, and great service! A lot of options are gluten free. I got the seared lion paw scallops, and they were some of the best scallops I’ve ever had! So soft and creamy with a delicious sauce. The truffle oil really made the dish! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, and the bartenders had a great time on Halloween.

Very nice experience. The food was incredibly flavorful, the ambiance was classy. We enjoyed the excellent wagyu ravioli with the warm fresh bread. The French onion soup and seafood chowder were great. We split the daily special Opakapaka with amazing risotto. They notified us of the extra charge to split and we were happy with did it when we saw how beautifully it was plated. Every dish was super rich and delicious. A very nice touch when they brought my husband a birthday card, dessert and took our photo. I read reviews of how incredible service was, so I think I was expecting a lot. While our server was friendly, we didn’t find it very attentive. It was busy, so I understand he had his hands full. It was a lovely fine dining experience!

An absolute must-visit fine dining restaurant. If you are in Maui, you must dine here. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate. The staff is knowledgeable of the entire menu and very polite. Their wine list is second to none. They have their own sommelier who procures vino from around the world, so you have a tremendous amount of bottled options ranging from $60 per bottle to over $10K. They have many gluten-free options or can make some options gluten-free with a chefs tweak here or there. The bowl of fish chowder was to die for and is a must-try. Lastly, the owner will stop by and introduce himself and chat with you. He provides the highest level of concierge service, which, besides the amazing food and atmosphere, is why this place consistently ranks among the very, very best in the world and deserves the reputation it has most assuredly earned.

Honestly, best service we have had in a very long time. Thank you Lisa and Eric for being so attentive. The little special touches go a long way in our book. The food matched the service and was spectacular. We were celebrating our anniversary and they took a picture of us, gave us a card, and a desert. My husband is Gluten Free and they paid very special attention to his dietary restrictions. They made sure he could still try the seafood special of the day and dessert. Even the doggy bag hanger was a nice touch.

Excellent dinner. The food was amazing. Everything sounded great so it was hard to decide what to get. The drinks we got were delicious too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We definitely will be coming back next time we’re in Maui. This was the best meal we had on the island. Everything we got was phenomenal. The owner of the restaurant even came around and thanked us for dining there. Great experience all around.

Had a wonderful experience. Food was excellent. Service was exceptional! Only thing I didn’t really care for was the fish chowder. We really enjoyed the bufala tomato salad. Although it’s a bit pricey for what you get but it’s worth a try. The Osso Buco tasted amazing and they leave the bone marrow intact. Seared Ahi Tuna was cooked perfectly. The flavor is well balanced.

Absolutely phenomenal food and was one of the highlights of our trip. I went with my fiance for an anniversary dinner and had incredible service and complimentary dessert. Down the Hatch Maui is a casual seafood eatery located in The Wharf Shopping Center on Maui. Despite its unassuming location, it has gained popularity and was even featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives. The restaurant offers a lively atmosphere with an open-air courtyard patio and serves cocktails, shave ice, and tasty fried dishes. Happy hour at Down the Hatch Maui is particularly popular from 3 to 7 p.m.
Amazing food in a chill, casual atmosphere. Come at Happy Hour and dinner for live music. Order at the counter and the wait staff will bring your food to you. The sign on the stairs to enter the restaurant lets you know how long the wait will be for a table. All dishes have fun presentation- This is a great spot to hit for happy hour! The POG Foam Mai Tai, Lava Lava Shrimp, and the Lobster & Crab Mac & Cheese were the best! Parking note: Park on the street for free if you can, or in a side parking lot (for a fee)

Seriously not worth the hype & wait!! This restaurant came well recommended in many social media platforms and reviews and SO….we went & were very excited but was very disappointed. Restaurant is mostly open air & most shaded areas were full that day. Despite telling my host that we would like a more shaded seating area away from the sun, he left us at a seat sun tanning under the sun when there were still some sheltered seats inside the building. We had to move ourselves to find a better shaded seat. We tried the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Grilled Cheese that everybody was raving about & I don’t understand why it has such good reviews. The bread was good, creamy sauce was okay but where is the lobster & crab? I can barely see or taste it! Fish & Chips was fresh but the batter was so poorly made, they were thick and soft. Chips were okay but we were not there for the chips. Lastly, we had the Crispy Coconut Shrimp which was nothing to shout about. Shrimp was fresh but small & it doesn't have the fragrant coconut crispy batter that I have tasted in other places & it was over-powered by the sweet Thai chili & mango salsa. Overall, Down the Hatch didn’t deliver & I will gladly bring my money elsewhere with better service & food anytime. Don't waste your time!

Our group had lunch at Down the Hatch - Maui one afternoon after doing a submarine tour in the area. We saw an order of the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Grilled Cheese going to anther table and knew we had to try it.. and we're so glad we did! It was so very tasty! We also ordered the shrimp tacos, calamari, loaded fries and bacon brussel sprouts.. everything was delicious! Even though it was a hot afternoon, we found a table in the shade overlooking the koi fish pond.. and had the best time!

Times Visited: 1 I came for the fish tacos and they did not disappoint! Crispy, with some really excellent 'melt in your mouth' fish, topped with a bunch of awesome ingredients made for really delightful fish tacos. Probably the best I've ever had! Though there is a part of me that thinks the ingredient ratio is a bit off... Tacos kept leaking ingredients when I would take a bite. But overall, excellent. I am mildly disappointed with the chips and salsa... Chips aren't much to write home about, they're quite hard and while they might be made fresh, they definitely weren't hot when they came to me so that magic is kind of lost. The salsa is also not much to write home about, and desperately needs a change to make the flavor a bit more BOLD. It's such a weak flavor it's hard to notice what it's even made of. But I'm glad it's included with the meal, and would rather have free weak chips and salsa rather than no free side. The Coconut Crystal Shrimp appetizer though? Heavenly PERFECTION. They could not have made a more perfect dish. Sweet, sour, fresh, fruity, tangy, crunchy... Excellent. No notes on that! The staff were helpful, and I liked how hands off the experience was, just ordering from the front (and thank goodness, you can get your own unlimited soda refills), and while the atmosphere was maybe a notch or two too loud, I like how it was a local musician and I'm overall happy with the experience.

I went there fully expecting a tourist trap. NOT! Phenomenal food, very friendly servers, helpful order taker, great vibes, pleasant live music, prompt service. Prices were right and did I say the food was awesome! A “must do” in Maui. Lava lava shrimp with rice and veggies is fantastic! Tacos were fresh and delicious and so was the sampler. I would encourage them to umph-up their drinks though. Cocktails were weak and left a lot to be desired. Stick to beer and standard stuff and your experience will be perfect!

The line of people waiting says it all 😋 The food was great great. We asked direction to the guy at the information booth and gave us a free lava lava shrimp cocktail ticket 🎟 and that lava shrimp was onolicious. The foods are all so delicious. Price is just right. Service is great as they put us in a lower table because we have a small kid with us. Our server was 👌 awesome.

Definitely work the visit.

Lahaina Pizza Company, formerly known as BJ's Chicago Pizzeria, is a laid-back eatery located on the second floor of Front Street. While it's famous for its deep-dish pizza, the menu also features delicious sesame chicken salad and pizookie - a hot-out-of-the-oven deep-dish cookie served with vanilla ice cream.
This place was certainly a good food decision. The food was super good, the service was good. The views AMAZING, we wanted to have an ocean view without having to pay loads of money. We got some wine, enjoyed the sunset and the food came at the right time. The pesto sauce was fire! And the salad felt fresh and nice. We also got some crab cakes that I didn’t capture in photos but that came with two sauces that we used for the salad and the pasta, best trick ever. Highly recommend going here and waiting for the window seat. The place has a charming feel and its not super big. Definitely nice place to stop by and you can even shop around the block while you wait. Although we just waited 5 min before we got a call saying our table was ready.

We stopped by here on a whim and had an excellent time. This is exactly what you’d expect from a neighbourhood pizza joint. Large portions, tasty food, and good service. The view is also spectacular. Recommended if you happen to be in the area.

Chicken wings were a 5. Sauce was good and wingers were crispy and tender. Salads were well done and huge. Deep dish pizza...hmm, probably a 3.5 on scale of 5. Pizza is passable but something just wasn't working. I think the dough wasn't crispy enough? Sauce was missing salt maybe? View is a 5!!

We’ve been to Maui several times, but never made it here until now. Deep dish style is not our pizza of choice, but I would definitely add this as an exception. The crust is light and airy and not heavy. The only drawback, and this not a negative it’s just how this style of pizza is made, it can take a while to make, but nothing crazy. It is upstairs and most every seat in the place will give you a good view of a sunset if you can make it in time.
Jim L — Google review
We stopped in there for lunch and highly enjoyed the bbq chicken pizza! The cilantro on top gave it a real nice hint of flavor! It may be the best bbq pizza I’ve ever had! I’m more of a thin crust guy, the crust was thicker, but wow was it good! Can’t wait to go back! Gorgeous views and neat restaurant!

There was a decent wait to be seated, but you can leave to shop and come back when they call. Our waitress was very nice and patient while we actually gave her our full order. The bruschetta was delicious. Tomatoes were so fresh. Deep dish customized for each of us. We're from WI and have standards for cheese and pizza. This was as good as anything I'd find there. Crispy crust and gooey cheese. Delish, would definitely go again!

This is an absolute MUST GO place in Lahaina! Absolutely mouth watering and delicious! We ended up going twice while on vacation. The first time I forgot to take picture, but we ordered the build your own pizzas. The second time my fiancé and I split a Small Cheese deep dish pizza with ranch and a plate of Ravioli with a Pesto and Alfredo sauce! It was amazing. The service was great, very friendly. Highly Recommended!

Great gem! We happened upon this place and we’re so glad we did. The service was great and the place was cute. It’s on the 2nd floor so it has a great view. The bruschetta is a MUST! We enjoyed it immensely. I wish we’d just gotten 2 plates of that and no pizza. Haha! The pizza was good. It’s a different style than we typically eat. The tomato is on top not a sauce and it’s deep dish so the crust is soft and chewy, not thin and crispy. I would absolutely come here again!

Cheeseburger In Paradise in Lahaina is a laid-back American spot with tropical decor, offering delicious burgers and exotic drinks with a view of the harbor. Despite some service issues, visitors can enjoy live music most nights while savoring tasty fish tacos and cocktails.
One of the highlights of Front Street! Located on the waterfront with some tables directly over the water on street level. Food was delicious, prices average for the island, and good drinks for midday. Our server Monica was incredible from the moment we walked in, we felt lucky to have her. So welcoming, prompt, and informative for other island attractions we asked about. Honestly one of the most fun casual dining experiences we had on Maui. Rooftop seating also available.

We were looking for a down-to-earth very average restaurant / burger place. Cheeseburger in paradise did not disappoint with a very bar like atmosphere and exceptional view that I don't think any restaurant in Maui would trump. Our server was great and over achieved in my opinion. The food was also great. If you're looking for a quick bite that's above average, this is definitely your place. We noticed the line was always out the door and I understood why. If you're in Maui and walking on front Street, definitely stop in here. I'll share a couple pictures of the atmosphere and the food will definitely be back

Had early dinner here and was able to see the sunset which was amazing. The location is bay front in the main shopping and art gallery strip which is Front Street. The food was nothing out of the ordinary but had good portions and tasted okay. We had burger and the nachos to eat and had some cocktails. We were seated quite quickly but they also seemed to be in a rush to get us out. The staff were friendly enough. The interior decor was also interesting with all the plate numbers.

Pacific'o on the Beach is a beachfront restaurant in Lahaina, offering a contemporary dining experience with creatively prepared local seafood and organic produce. Led by head chef Anton Haine, the farm-to-table menu features signature dishes like Korean taco, lamb duo, and coconut-crushed mahi made from fresh local ingredients. The restaurant provides a perfect setting to enjoy the beach atmosphere while savoring inventive Hawaiian cuisine.
I am so glad we stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant. The food was exceptional and you could tell the chefs were passionate about their craft. They source their food, drinks and cocktail garnishes locally. The sunset alone is worth stopping in but the cocktails are second to none. The bartenders are amazing! They are super attentive and seem like they authentically get along with one another. We weren’t in for a full meal but we saw several go out to tables and everything looked exquisite. We had the sashimi which was Ono and the beet salad. Both 10/10! We will definitely make a point to come back here. Oh and did I mention the sunset? :)

This was the first restaurant we dined at during our recent (and 1st) trip to Maui, and it was wonderful! (We actually showed up late to a corporate event because I did not want to miss out on a meal here, and it was booked for the remainder of our stay.) We were seated at an outside table with amazing views – the evening was gorgeous! We started with the Hen Mouse, the O’o Farm Mixed Olives and the Cheese Board which were all delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the Grilled Fish Mai-Tai (so flaky and light) and my husband enjoyed the Lemongrass Curry. Excellent cuisine, top-notch service and amazing views. This farm-to-table restaurant is one you will not want to miss!

Everything was delicious. Salads were so fresh and tasty. Risotto was fantastic too. My husband had the chicken and he loved it. Dessert was great and their coffee was the perfect balance for the sweetness. We also purchased a bag of their coffee to take home. Location and service were outstanding. Absolutely recommended! You can't go wrong with this restaurant.

I never give ANY place 5 stars across the board. I had the blacken Mahi-Mahi and to my Cajun friends, it passes. Simply perfect! The wife had the grilled swordfish, again it was simply perfect. The chocolate bread pudding was delicious! Our server John was also perfect, knew when to show up, and when not to!

Amazing restaurant! Food was absolutely delicious. Great mix of flavors. They have a "farm to table" policy, all ingredients are fresh. I came in not knowing much about the restaurant, but was pleasantly surprise. The service was amazing too. Best food in Maui for the price! Also, great environment and view!

The views the restaurant has to offer are. We sat on the grass and had a front row view of the ocean and sunset! Try to get a seat out there if you can!!! I had tried to called and make a reservation and the woman on the other line said they would give me a call back, they never did. So I called back at 4 and another woman answered the phone and said they were full and only had one walk in table or the bar. Knowing that we couldn’t get a reservation, my husband and I got dressed and got there right as they were opening, and we were able to get seated right away!!! Overall the experience was good. Our service from our server was very lack luster, it seemed like he really didn’t care to serve us. But the gentleman who was coming around and refilling our water made up for it. We had great conversation with him and he told us cool facts about Maui. As for the food, we would recommend everything we got there!!! Try the banana bread Ice cream sandwiches l, they are unique and delicious!! I also want to let you know that it’s located RIGHT next door to a luau. So If you pick a night to eat there when there is a Luau going, it will be loud.

Excellent high end restaurant. We went for a sunset dinner. Creative craft cocktails, amazing dinner and desserts that will leave you wanting more. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location on the beach is perfect.

I would have given 5 stars, but we had a reservation and we were seated a few minutes late and stuck me behind a wall when there was an empty table right next to us that was given to someone after us. It had the perfect view. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and options. I had the Blackened Fresh Catch. The sauce was spicy which is how I like it. My husband had the Herb Crusted Ahi. He said it was perfect. For dessert, we shared the Avocado Lava Cake. It was rich and creamy and not too sweet. High dollar restaurant. If you get a good table (which is most tables) you will not be disappointed by the sunset. You can also walk out to the beach and get a few sunset pictures while you wait for your table.
