The Hangout Gulf Shores is a vibrant beach spot famous for its oyster cook-off, live music, and lively atmosphere. Situated in the Alabama Gulf Coast, it attracts visitors from all over the United States who come to enjoy the stunning beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The venue hosts an annual music festival but also offers year-round entertainment with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and family-friendly activities such as games and live music.
I had such a great experience at The Hangout on the Beach in Gulf Shores! Our waiter, TJ, was absolutely amazing—friendly, kind, funny, and very informative. His menu suggestions were spot on, and he made the whole experience even better. I truly wish him and his fiancée nothing but the best in their future endeavors. The overall vibe of the restaurant was awesome—fun, energetic, and welcoming. I loved seeing the staff and birthday guests dancing on the tables, which made the atmosphere feel like a celebration. They also have live music at night, which just adds to the fun beachy vibe. The food was fresh and delicious! We ordered the spinach dip, seafood boil, and salad, and everything was fantastic. One thing to note: parking is limited since it’s shared with the beach, so be prepared to walk a bit. But honestly, it was so worth it. I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Gulf Shores, and I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again!

Super cool atmosphere with the thousands of ducks, matchbox cars and pez dispensers! They’ve remodeled & enclosed the far wall adding multiple TVs for sports & a large bar with hand crafted beverages that include mocktails. The view of the Gulf and breeze is where it’s at! They even have foam that happens every hour for the kids. Lots of cool photo ops as well. Service from Courtney was great and the food was good though I did expect more flavor from the Bayou burger. Kids said the chicken tenders were “just right.” We’ll be back!

The food is very good. Had fried shrimp and wife had a burger. She had the pulled pork burger and it was tasty. The fried shrimp was excellent. The staff entertains to the point of getting guests to dance on tables. There is also live music on the outside stage. The view while eating we could see the beach and ocean. We had a lot of fun.

I had the shrimp and grits at The Hangout in Foley, and it was absolutely outstanding. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and seared with just the right amount of char, giving them a smoky, savory kick. The grits were creamy and smooth, serving as the perfect base for the rich, flavorful sauce that tied everything together. The sauce had layers of flavor—slightly spicy, a little tangy, and full of depth from the vegetables and seasonings. The presentation was beautiful as well, with the shrimp circling the grits and a garnish of fresh greens on top, making it feel just as much a feast for the eyes as for the taste buds. Every bite was comforting yet elevated, a true Southern classic done right. If you’re visiting Foley, this dish is a must-try. It captures the heart of Gulf Coast cuisine in one plate. I’ll definitely be back for it again!

First time going to the Hangout to have dinner yesterday evening and it was phenomenal! Ricky made our experience absolutely fantastic! Extremely tentative and kept us laughing the whole time just making sure we had everything we needed as well a great time! 100/10 rating! Will certainly go back every year we come to Orange Beach. Our kids loved being here and it was such a great experience.
Ashley L — Google review
I went here on a date with my daughter, and we had such a great time! It also looks like a super fun place to go with a group, perfect spot to HANG OUT for hours! I loved the environment; it’s lively, fun, and everyone seems so happy (I would be too! 😂). Not to mention the beautiful view! The shrimp boil was delicious—personally, I would have loved it to be a bit spicier, but it was still amazing. The burger was juicy and full of flavor as well. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I visit Orange Beach!
Alejandra T — Google review
April was our server and she was amazing! She was friendly, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere inside was also amazing. Food was absolutely wonderful. You could tell the seafood was very fresh! We have never been and want to go back even though we’re only here for a couple days on vacation. They have fun things to do as well. They played a game with everybody in the restaurant and winner got a prize! Overall, such an amazing experience.

Food 4/5 You get a lot in 1 meal is enough for 2 people. Service was great. Not sure if it because I was paying for 6 that they added the tip. In Louisiana it usually 8+ table. Maybe they just add tip to all bills not sure. Atmosphere was fun, but it does get really loud so maybe not great for a date to get know someone. We were there at 6pm on a Saturday, and they were singing dancing on tables it was great fun for the whole family. When they wasn't doing that there was someone playing outside they had lot of speakers inside playing them and it gets really loud. Could be that is was dinner time on a Saturday, not sure if they do that on weekday nights.

The Pink Pony Pub in Gulf Shores is a popular late-night spot known for its beachfront location, casual atmosphere, and delicious seafood and pub food. The restaurant's pink exterior with a pony painted outside adds to its charm. Whether you're looking to enjoy the air conditioning indoors or soak up the sun on the wooden deck overlooking the surf, this beachfront establishment offers a delightful experience.
We stopped here while spending time at the Gulf Shores beach. Cute pink building close by to the beach, with a nice view. The staff was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. My group and I all really liked our food. They got fried gulf shrimp and blackened gulf shrimp. The hush puppies were delicious. The best any of us have had anytime recently. The fries were seasoned and perfectly crispy. I ordered the blackened fish basket and it was as delicious as I could’ve hoped for.
Rachel B — Google review
I’ve been coming to the Pink Pony since I was a kid, and it’s always held a special place in my heart. So naturally, when I came home to visit, I was excited to stop by and relive those memories. Walking in, I was thrilled to see that the place still looks the same—there’s a charm and familiarity that makes it feel like home. That said, I do wish a bit more care was put into the food and drinks. Respectfully, the Bushwacker I had was almost undrinkable, and the oysters I ordered weren’t properly shucked—there were shells in nearly every bite. No house-made ranch, and the overall menu felt uninspired, almost as if it was put together without much thought. The location is unbeatable, and the vibe has all the potential in the world. But it feels like the quality of the experience, especially when it comes to the menu and service, hasn’t caught up. Our server wasn’t particularly friendly either, which added to the sense that things have slipped. Despite that, I’ll always come back—this place is part of my history. I just really hope to see it taken to the next level someday. It truly deserves that.

Located right on the beach!! The food was really good!! My husband got the crab cakes and said they were to die for!!!! I was a little surprised about the crab claw basket when we got the receipt since it didn’t have the price on the menu. $45 for a crab claw basket seemed a bit pricey but my niece enjoyed it. The service was not great since it was a very busy place. It took a long time to get good, or to get refills. Make sure you go a little early so u can get on their wait list to get in too.

Great place! The drinks are AMAZING!!! Highly recommend the Bob Marley and key lime colada! The burger of the month was a pimento cheese burger with fried green tomato and I loved it! The grilled fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Not to mention the best fried pickles I’ve had in a long time! Not too salty but very tasty!!! Staff was mostly friendly and happy to answer questions. The food took about 40 minutes to come out but the place was packed and the drinks and appetizer came quick. The patio is amazing and has a beautiful view of the pier

My husband and I stopped in here for a drink and loved the atmosphere. Our server Matt was so friendly and he made the best strawberry daiquiri I’ve ever had! Super reasonable prices as well. Definitely recommend!!

We came across this place when looking for somewhere to eat on the beach. Before being seated the hostess informed us they were out of about a third of the menu items. We decided to stay since there wasn’t a wait. The food, service, and indoor atmosphere was ok. The outdoor atmosphere was better because of the view of the beach and ocean. The seating indoors was plastic folding chairs and tables, outdoors was wooden picnic tables. They were not the most comfortable but I guess that is the look they were going for. The location right on the beach is pretty much what this place has going for it.

Waited in line for a minute or two but they were slammed busy. service was great, fast enough, came with a smile.i ordered a frozen drink,it had 4 different liquors in it, "A Jamaican Type frozen drink and it was worth the $12 i paid for it!! Busy but great

We came for the Nachos, and they were out of cheese? So we stayed and got burgers, they were good when they finally came out. Although when our app came out, no one every gave us napkins, utensils, and our waiter disappeared for about 20 minutes... we noticed we were not the only table awkwardly waiting. Other tables, with other waiters went up to the bar to ask for drinks etc.. location is cool, theme is cool, but a bit run-down overall with foldup tables/chairs on the inside. It took a really long time to get our food and the place wasn't super busy. Parking is in a small paid lot in between them and Hangout. We were rather dissapointed. I think if it wasn't "famous" and on the beach, there's no real reason to go.

Absolutely love this place! We have friends that invited us down to stay, and we loved it so much now that we are seriously thinking of moving to Southern Alabama. You do have to pay to park here through the park mobile app. It's easy to use though.

The beach is clean. The sand is so very soft and fluffy 🤩 The water is beautiful. We all had a great time. I definitely suggest lots of sunscreen!! There was like 3 jellyfish 🪼 in the water. You also might have to watch out for some of the rude people fishing from the beach 2 feet in front of you and your children. 🤦‍♀️

This beach is dog-friendly and we had a blast. White sand beaches similar to Pensacola, without the massive crowds. We've been down to Gulf Shores six times and each time had a blast. There is plenty of parking. Beach chairs are available to rent if you want, and there are public foot shower stations to wash that sand off so you don't take it with you.

I love visiting Gulf Shores. Wonderful pier to fish from with Tiki bar to relax at. Beautiful powder sand beaches with walkways, volleyball nets, and water activities.

Beautiful Big Beach! Very clean. No dogs or glass containers allowed. Lifeguards present. Dolphins at often seen playing right in sight. Several places to eat within walking distance. Island Market store right off the beach for you to buy anything you forgot to pack. Free public restrooms and showers. Paid parking available for a reasonable price. Beach chairs and umbrellas available for rent.

I mean, you stand in line to order your food....which is a bit disappointing, especially when they ask for a tip ( really????). Except that everything else was great!!!! Tasty food, nice variety to choose from. The boba tea was a bit blend. All tastes just tasted the same. There is no milk in the tea, so it was kinda weird.

Absolutely loved it! Ate outside and food was out supper quick and was amazing!! Owner was great when we ordered. Would definately recommend and come back! Peel and eat shrimp were amazing and my hubby had the grouper sandwich and was excellent! The drinks were yummy and very flavorful!

Love the atmosphere and subdued modern beach aesthetic! You order at the bar and choose your own seat. They have a well rounded menu & excellent flavor. We had the taco sampler and all 3 were delicious! My fav was the Mahi Mahi with shrimp in 2nd and chicken a close 3rd. The chips & salsa were giving a Chili’s vibe which is my all time favorite!! Only thing I would change is the amount of salsa with the meal. It was too little for how delicious it is 💕💕
Balloon E — Google review
Super cute, beachy place for some yummy drinks (alcoholic and non). There’s picnic tables on the porch and a couple swings with a kid area, more picnic tables down below the deck covered with umbrellas, and also plenty seating inside. Large variety of drinks, i tried one of the lemonade teas which was delicious and also one of the popping boba teas. The sweet potato fries were delicious. The dunked wedge with chicken tasted as expected, and the chicken was juicy. Unfortunately, the Mediterranean bowl didn’t met expectations. There was a lot in the bowl but the flavors didn’t mesh well together and the fish was dry. The servers were very friendly. Overall, it was a good experience but there’s room for improvement in flavor combos.
Ashley M — Google review
We visited this past August. This was our first time in the area and we wanted to try something local with a view. The food was good. I had the calamari and a grouper sandwich. Mom had the fried Gulf shrimp basket. We thought all three tasted great and were fresh. I hope you like steps, because there's plenty of them to go inside. Once inside, they have no customer service. You have to order at the counter and pick up your food when your order is done. For the prices they charge, you expect some kind of service, but forget about it, serve yourself. I just found this to be ridiculous. At least I didn't feel the need to tip anyone but myself, and I'm a good tipper. The view was okay from that height, but all you can really see are other businesses.
Bryon H — Google review
My husband and I came for lunch. I had the Mahi tacos and he had the shrimp tacos, so so good! Atmosphere really cool, great folks working there. Drinks good, too! Highly recommend if you're down this way!
Janette N — Google review
Fantastic food, lovely service and beautiful views! Can't beat a beach view and a spot of the Gulf with your meal 😍 love the variety of dishes here, goes beyond the traditional fried/grilled fish/shrimp you find in most spots and they have a great drink menu, too. Always stop here on the way back from biking at the state park for a tasty and (often!) healthy bite! We enjoyed the blackened shrimp basket and carribean bowl with some palomas today!

Restaurant
The Steamer Baked Oyster Bar is a renowned diner in Gulf Shores, offering a delectable menu of steamed and baked crab legs, shrimp, and oysters. The cozy restaurant provides a homestyle setup with a covered deck for patrons to enjoy their freshly prepared seafood dishes. With an emphasis on raw, steamed, and baked seafood, the chefs at The Steamer showcase the freshness and regional flavors of their offerings.
Found Steamers almost by accident and so glad we did. Tucked just behind the giant souvenir store on the main intersection in Gulf Shores, It was a Monday night and we sat on the patio (covered and screened) and were seated right away. Very comfortable and casual. The food was all very good. We had charcoal grilled oysters, which were excellent. Tried the Bushwhacker which was also excellent. The red snapper blackened was as good as any I’ve had and the corn, potatoes, and green beans were all very good. For the reviewers that downplayed the sides, the Butter Sauce on the table (and maybe a little salt, pepper, and hot sauce) made them all scrumptious. Service was great, and attentive. We plan to go back and bring our entire family.
Mark P — Google review
The Steamers Baked Oyster Bar offered a good dining experience. Their shrimp was particularly enjoyable, and the food quality overall was good, complemented by good service. While the Gulf location suggested better seafood pricing, we found the prices relatively high. The atmosphere was slightly underwhelming, but didn't detract too much from the meal. 🦀
Will E — Google review
Good place for large groups to sit inside or outside on the patio and have many options for seafood and also non-seafood options. We got a table pretty quickly for a group of 8. I really wanted baked oysters and they have an option to mix baked oyster flavors. I tried the cajun, mexican and parmesan. They were all tasty but the cajun with the sausage was my least favorite. I ordered a blackened scallops entree, but unfortunately, it was overcooked so I didn’t eat much of it. The rest of our group enjoyed their shrimp and steaks. Great sweet tea as well. And received very attentive service.

We’re a big fan of Chicken Alfredo. Ordered take out and picked it up in 20 minutes. Food was ready and bagged up nicely, fast and good service. Food was good, not the best we had. Ordered some gumbo and was good.

Yes I know, I know…. You don’t go to the beach for crab legs but I did and they were great! We love eating here each time we come to OBA/Gulf Shores.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to dine at a restaurant run by actual sloths, look no further. I’m convinced the waiter/bar tender took my order, then went home for a nap, binge-watched a show, and came back just in time to deliver my food 45 minutes later lukewarm and looking suspiciously like something SpongeBob flipped at the Krusty Krab on a bad day. The drinks? Mid. Not terrible, not good, just existing. Like they were mixed by someone who read the recipe once and decided to freestyle. By the time the food arrived, I had spiritually evolved into a different person one who no longer knew hunger, only regret. If you enjoy slow motion dining experiences and crabby patty cosplay meals, this is your place. Otherwise, pack a snack and a pillow. You’ll need both.

Sunliner has become a must every time we are in the area! Look for the pink Cadillac outside and neon signage on the strip. When you come inside its just as amazing with more neon lighting, old fashioned booths, a full size vehicle, jukebox, and an impressive bar. The visual is so fun! Breakfast (or brunch) is always fantastic. From omelets 🍳 that satisfy your favorite ingredients, to amazing waffles, burgers that are anything but ordinary🍔, and some of the coolest ice cream options 🍨 you've ever seen... the food is so good! And, for those 21+, there's a fun drink menu to compliment your meal.🥂 Creatively, your menu is an old newspaper 📰 with fun stories, trivia & facts on the front cover. Also, the seating area inside is huge so dont worry about getting a table. This is fun and an amazing throwback destination for a really good meal.

This was one of the best places we visited on our vacation. Stephanie, our server, was amazing and the food we ordered was fresh and great. My jukebox burger was juicy, and full of flavor. Fish and chips were crispy with just the right amount of dip to make the fish crunchy on the outside and soft and melty on the inside. Definitely highly recommended for the atmosphere but also for the food!

Love the 50's Era atmosphere! Our server, Alice was wonderful. Fast, friendly service. Want to come back just to have one of their shakes that look like a dessert!

Our kids birthdays' we jointly celebrated and they gave us the CAR before we even told them that. The kids were stoked to say at the least. Food was great! Kids didn't fuss, and finished their plates! Sunshine was our server and she was a DELIGHT. My husband finished the Jukebox Challenge and won a little prize! Will be returning for sure! Cute, nostalgic, must stop!!

The store's entrance is designed like a shark's mouth, making for a unique photo opportunity. Souvenir City is a great store to shop for all of your beach needs, air brushed t-shirts, hair wrapping, henna tattoos, beautiful picture frames and just about anything else you can think of. There’s several picture ops. Don’t visit Gulf Shores and miss out on this store!

My kids loved this place! ❤️ We were able to get souvenirs for everyone and a variety of different kinds. Huge t-shirt selection. Lots of places to take pics.
Crystal B — Google review
This is the place with the big shark out in front - you can’t miss it! Right on the main drag of Gulf Shores near all the hotels and condos. My kiddo is obsessed with sharks, so he really wanted a pic “inside the shark’s mouth.” We stopped by on our way out of town. I remember getting photos when I was younger in the shark’s mouth, so it was a great opportunity to recreate it a couple of decades later. The parking lot is quite small, but there is an additional parking lot in the back. As a reward for having to walk around the building to get the shark picture, you can also get a view of a huge pirate ship and pose as a pirate with a cute cut-out! The store itself is stuffed FULL of, well, stuff. T-shirts, knickknacks, hats, local artists’ work, breakable things (so many breakable things - watch your kids!), toys, shoes, food, snacks, etc etc etc. We don’t do your traditional clothing or hat souvenirs, but I was able to find a Christmas ornament to commemorate our time in Gulf Shores. There are also a few additional photo ops in the store, so it’s not just a shopping trip - it’s an experience! The aisles are very narrow in spots… I did see someone with a shopping cart, but maybe it was for show. There are also lots of breakable glass items, so if we spent too much time in there with small kids, my anxiety level would definitely creep up. Okay for a quick pop-in, though! The checkout process is kinda madness because there’s no obvious line, but my complaint on that is minimal because I was able to hop in behind a group of old ladies and not wait too long. Others that came after might feel differently. I think this is definitely worth a drop in if you’re in Gulf Shores. I mean, you gotta go to a Shark Shop when you’re in a beach town!

Lots to see and a variety of items. Love their 10% military discount (I'm a military combat veteran). We visited on a Friday in the late afternoon and it was very crowded; would definitely recommend trying to go midweek or during the day when it may be less packed. Average higher vacation area prices, but we did find some deals and cheaper items (see pics). The HUGE shark at the entrance is cool and a neat photo op. 4 stars due to how difficult it was to maneuver and shop due to the large amount of other customers, general prices and a misunderstanding of sorts with a distracted, slightly standoffish employee. Overall though, it's a fun touristy shop!

It should be illegal the “care instructions sheet” and tips from employees when getting a hermit crab here. 2 weeks ago when doing just that, getting the biggest cage available (a tiny critter cage with neon rocks) the lady working there told me not to put any water in it .. not even an inch just sponges bc they’ll drown. WRONG WRONG. Hermit crabs need 6+ inches of sand (not rocks) to molt, 10+ gal tank minimum, 80% humidity or they suffocate. No sponges, no neon gravel they sell. And YES WATER.. both fresh and salt water bowls. I brought my baby home, researched, and gave her a chance at life but will NEVER buy from a souvenir city again knowing they are literally torturing these poor animals. If you don’t want to spend another $200+ on correct living arrangements so it doesn’t slowly suffocate, and even then risky bc of its previous health living in this place.. DONT BUY A HERMIT CRAB FROM HERE

De Soto's Seafood Kitchen is a popular spot in Gulf Shores, Alabama, offering a diverse selection of seafood and sides in a casual and airy setting. Known for its fresh seafood market and prepared dishes, it has been an institution for almost two decades. The restaurant has won awards for its reasonably priced family menu and offers a kids' menu with unique options like fettuccine alfredo.
We visited here on a busy evening (which I understand now why!). We walked up and originally were told it would be an hour wait for 2 and we were bummed but then a spot opened up at the bar so we got seated immediately! Wow! So that was very cool! The real highlight, though here is the amazing food. My meal I ate here was by far the greatest I had the whole weekend I was in town. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits! You gotta visit here!

It was our first trip to Gulf Shores and this restaurant was recommended by several family and friends!! The bread is soft and so tasty one brown loaf and one white!!! Honey butter is a must 😋 The appetizer we had were the blue crab claws and were so good!! My husband and I got the snow crab legs and they were cooked perfectly with new potatoes. We ate there 2 nights in a row!!! The Big Beach craft beer is sooo smooth and delicious. The Riesling wine was also a good choice!!!

First time coming here, but not the last. I had the fried seafood platter and my mom ordered the stuffed shrimp. We shared an order of gator bites. OMG! The best gator tail I've had. The platter was more than I could eat. Mom barely finished her stuffed shrimp, but she did. The food here is so fantastic. I only wish we had found them earlier in our trip. I could eat here every day. Friendly staff got us seated promptly and or starter was on the table fast. Looking forward to coming again next year.

We had a great experience here! Kasey was our server and she handled it like a champ. We had 2 kids meals 2 appetizers and an big platter to share, our tab was $90 something with tip. The food was great, not the regular commercial beach/pier food you see nowadays in touristy areas. We loved it and will come back when we come back to the area. 😍😍💯

This was an excellent choice for seafood! The Snow Crab legs were Awesome and Bill's pecan crusted Grouper was Excellent as well! We also had Great service! Love this place! We will definitely be back!😊

Blue crab claws were great! Rolls, hush puppies and service were awesome! Crab cake tasted good but could have been cooked a little longer, it was a little undercooked. Good choice of local beers. Fried green tomatoes were soggy and bland and I could not eat them, the fried fish, shrimp and scallops were just ok.

Food was incredible and very fairly priced for the area. We were able to feed 9 people full meals for under $200. Our waitress was a doll and we can’t wait to come back for lunch again next year on vacation. A true highlight of our week. (Pictured is the Parmesan crusted flounder, au gratin potatoes, and the best hush puppies I’ve ever had).

The Original Oyster House restaurant prides itself on serving high-quality seafood prepared to perfection every time. We had a great time dining last night. We had a party of 6 and arrived at 6:30pm. We didn’t get a table until 8pm, but that was to be expected. All of the staff were friendly and kept our cups full and tables cleared. Do yourself a favor: get the mozzarella sticks and the salad bar! The cheese sticks are hand breaded and then topped with a glorious amount of Parmesan cheese. The salad bar was $12 for all you can eat/as many trips as you need!

We had a pre-wedding dinner with our wedding guest here. I wanted to make a reservation but because of the summer crowd reservations were not accepted. We were able to get seated after a bit of a wait. The parking was difficult. Our server was nice and I think she was able to get the orders right. My hubby and I visited a few months before this visit in July. Our waiter, Stephen was extremely friendly. We were hoping to see him again but he told us he doesn't work the evening shift. The food was really good and the portion sizes allowed for leftovers.

We have been here several times and it never fails to be a great experience. There is usually a wait, but they give you a buzzer and you can grab a drink and go do some shopping while you wait. I had raw oysters for an appetizer and the soft shell crab for my meal with baked potato and salad bar for sides. The others at the table got the shrimp bake, stuffed flounder and crab stuffed grouper. It was all cooked perfectly and delicious. Our server was Mr. Rogers, and he made our experience even more enjoyable with his excellent service and fun conversation. Highly recommend!

This was our second time visiting the oyster House. The first time we stopped by an order to appetizer sampler. It was so good our waiter was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. The second time we visited was for our pre-wedding dinner. We had a pretty large party. I'll waitress wasn't that good. But the food was pretty good. But overall still with highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or looking for good seafood.

My husband and I decided to try oysters for the first time and this place did not disappoint!! We had the oyster sampler plate and loved it. My husband ordered the meal with the mahi mahi fish, and I ordered a sushi-grade tuna steak, and it was literally the best meal I’ve had in a while. I was also surprised at how amazing the cheesy grits were! Our server Kim was phenomenal and made our experience even better! We will definitely be going back and recommend this place to anyone visiting Gulf Shores.

Our server " buster brown" was AMAZING!!! ate there a few nights ago and forgot to make the review. Everything was delicious only negative thing i could say is the oysters were very very small but they tasted good. That stuffed grouper he recommended was so good 🤤

Original Oyster House Boardwalk is a fun and delicious experience for all ages! My family and I have eaten here my whole life, and I love it every time. They have quite the extensive menu. Some of my favorite foods here include the fried oysters, fried shrimp, fried grouper, fried crawfish, fried alligator, blackened or grilled mahi mahi, red beans and rice, collard greens, and hush puppies. The servers are always so welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable, providing great recommendations for menu options and information about specials. They also have delicious sweet tea! The food is fantastic, but the atmosphere is what truly makes this place fun and unique. Seated along the Little Lagoon, Original Oyster House Boardwalk has large windows with an open view of the water. Watch herons, spot fish, and keep an eye out for alligators while you dine among fun fishing themed decor. If there is a wait to be seated, you can check out the gift shop, walk along the boardwalk and check out other fun shops, or feed the fish at the end of the deck. As a child, I always enjoyed “alligator hunting” while looking off the deck and coloring on their fun kid’s menus while we ate. I highly recommend checking out the Original Oyster House Boardwalk to anyone looking for good food and family friendly fun in Gulf Shores!

Warning! Not just a restaurant! Tourist trap destination and shop while you wait vibe. That said... This was a solid tourist destination Our server was friendly and attended us proficiently. It's a loud busy high energy place. Tons of things all over the walls and lots of things that need to be dusted. The food was solid! We enjoyed all the variations of shrimp that we had. The friend flounder was really good. The tartar sauce seemed to be pre-made and it was only ok. We both had baked potatoes which were classic and delicious. The creamy grits were incredibly cheesy. I had the salad bar as my side and it was absolutely delicious. The potato salad and pasta salad were bomb! It was just hit all my nostalgic salad bar needs.

Walmart Supercenter is a large department store where people can find many types of clothing, groceries, and other items. It is always crowded, so it is best to visit during daytime hours when it is less busy.
I really enjoy shopping at this Walmart because everything is so well organized and easy to find. The aisles are always clean, and the store looks neat and tidy, which makes the experience much more pleasant. The staff is friendly, attentive, and willing to help whenever I have a question or need assistance. Their great attitude and professionalism make every visit smooth and enjoyable. What a joke of a business. I checked out on 6-23-25. The elderly lady that was checking me out was extremely rude and disrespectful. It was entertaining to see how little she cared about her job. Alex- do a better job of managing your employees. I’ve seen better management at a foot locker.
Brock U — Google review
Surprisingly, we found this Walmart to be clean, neat organized, and in stock. However, this Walmart is no different than others in the chain. In keeping with all the other Walmart stores, they foist upon you countless self check out registers. I refuse to take a cost increase on my purchase by ringing up the products myself. We luckily found a cheerful cashier to assist us with our purchases. It’s no surprise that Walmart stores are crowded and chaotic, have an unpleasant atmosphere, limited product availability, understaffed, and have little to no customer service. It appears the store manager here is trying to break that mold, but I’m sure a director will come in and make them conform to Bentonville, Arkansas‘s master plan.

This Walmart is always packed for one but we bought some fishing poles and a kid bike and of course food . The 2 fishing poles broke with in the 10 mins of using it. One didn’t even have a reel on it and the others pole broke off. We bought a kids bike and the petal broke off. We bought some pretzels from the deli and we were eating them and notice they had mold all over them. They didn’t want to do nothing. Very rude and needs to do better at taking out of date food off the shelf. Will drive to foley Walmart instead of this one.

I scheduled an appointment for tires to be put on my car and as soon as I paid online for the tires the store canceled my order. I still have not received the confirmation that my order was canceled instead they changed to to a pick up order. I have called 5 times and spoke with customer service, they have been no help. They still have my $295.00 and are refusing to give me my money back.

Shrimp Basket is a popular seafood chain that first opened its doors in 1993, just a short distance from the beautiful Gulf Shores beaches. The restaurant offers a wide range of fried seafood dishes and features an oyster bar. From appetizers like crab cakes and fried coconut shrimp to grilled or blackened seafood platters, the menu has something for everyone. With over 20 locations across the southern region, Shrimp Basket is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and affordable prices.
The food here was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. Our waitress was very sweet! And we love the atmosphere. My husband and I just got a plate to share. The shrimp we got was delicious and flavorful, and the funnel cake fries were delicious! We ordered them with the chocolate sauce, but our waitress gave us a cup of caramel sauce as well, she said she likes to mix them together. We're on our honeymoon, so I'm not sure when the next time we'll be back is, but if we're ever in Gulf Shores, I'm gonna beg him to come here again!

Just an excellent little restaurant, service was amazing. The waiter was funny and very knowledgeable about the menu. He treated our family very well and we truly enjoyed going to eat there. The food was excellent! We all got something different and not one of us was looking to share because we all enjoyed it. The appetizers were perfect out well before the meal and hot. And the atmosphere was great can’t complain about the location or anything else. Y’all have a wonderful day and I hope you enjoy coming here.

The food and drinks were excellent! I’m from Detroit, MI and every time I come to Biloxi, I have to stop at this Shrimp Basket location! They never disappoint! Keisha was our server and deserves 5 stars herself. Keisha was nice, had a positive attitude, and made the best drinks! Y’all have to try the “Mermaid Water” ! I forgot to take pictures of our meals… But the appetizers are awesome as well!

Had an amazing dinner at The Shrimp Basket and couldn’t be more impressed! Even though the place was buzzing with a steady crowd, we were seated at the bar quickly and without any hassle. Our bartender, Taseia, was a total pro, attentive, friendly, and on top of everything from start to finish. Melissa, the manager, went above and beyond; not only did she check on us, but she also suggested fantastic dishes that we ended up loving. She was incredibly friendly and even recommended a few local spots to catch the fireworks. We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp Fries—crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor. For our entrees, we had the boiled shrimp platters—cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The portions were generous and the prices were super reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity of seafood we got. All in all, this spot nails that classic Southern seafood vibe. Great food, great value, and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!

The Shrimp Basket in Gulf Shores delivers a fantastic, laid-back "Margaritaville" vibe that's perfect for a casual seafood meal. The shrimp we had was good, and the service was genuinely excellent – truly a standout. We also appreciated that the prices were moderately reasonable, offering good value. The restaurant itself felt clean and vibrant, adding to the very good overall atmosphere. My only real consideration is the menu's strong focus on fried items; if you're seeking non-fried options, your choices are more limited. However, for those who enjoy classic fried seafood in a lively setting, it's definitely a great spot.

As always I absolutely love this place and love love love the boom boom shrimp so highly recommended. The atmosphere is always electric but last night it was even more incredible due to our Server/ bartender and I believe she was also the Assistant GM Melissa. Her outgoing personality and her natural comedic presence was felt and greatly enjoyed. Felt like it was a long lost friend and just catching up. Look forward to seeing our friend Melissa next vacation and the team at the Shrimp Basket. Til next time my gulf shores extend family!

This is my go to spot for a nice affordable sit down lunch when Im in the area. Me and my wife was down from Tennessee this past weekend. When lunch time hit Saturday we knew Shrimp Basket would be our choice. We stayed in Orange Beach so it made sense to slide across the street. We went into the Orange beach location with the expectation to be seated quickly because it was fairly empty. We watched as 2 employees passed by without a greeting or acknowledgement. Now normally this would not be a big deal but on this occasion, it kinda bothered me. Luckily for us this location isn't very far. We were greeted with smiles from the staff all around. Our server Raven was a great help. She pointed us to a great seafood market and made sure the general manager came out to greet us as well. We always purchase a couple bottles of their signature hot sauce, its delicious, I highly recommend. The long Island tea I had was on point as well. We got our case of hot sauce and left with full bellies. I know Orange Beach would have also had tge same great coconut shrimp but service should also be key to a good dine in experience.

Crico's Pizza & Subs is a well-established family-owned restaurant in Gulf Shores, serving up delicious hand-tossed pizzas with a wide variety of toppings. In addition to their specialty pizzas, they offer made-to-order salads, chicken wings, breadsticks, sandwiches, and dessert pizzas. The restaurant also features an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet that provides a great value for those looking to indulge in their tasty offerings.
We are originally from Louisiana and we have come to Orange Beach every yeah for the past 5 years. Every time we have come we try something local and its always just been. Meh, being from a food capital (not New Orleans!) We like our food and pretty much gave up on finding good, flavored food. Until we found this place. THIS WAS AMAZING! I can honestly say this will now be our yearly spot to splurge and devour. The pizzas were SMOKING hot, the cheese had the best cheese pulls and the flavor. Everything mixed so well together. We got 4 drinks, 4 pizzas, some cheese bread and some criscostix and paid less then 130 dollars. And we left with A LOT of leftovers that we are for breakfast. We will definitely be making this spot a yearly hit! So much better then the tourist spots that are just loud and over priced (we have a family of 5), this is a phenomenal place. The cashier even told us that what, if we order again they get really busy so call when they open and make an order for a certain time of the day to bypass the wait, which is a good idea. Its a small place and when we got there we lucked out because there was only one 4 top open. We will definitely be taking her advice in the coming stays!

I’m a legitimate pizza expert so believe be when I tell you. Canned mushrooms 🤮, super cheap cheese, extremely cheap sauce, worse than all the major pizza chains. The fact this is a functional business on the beach in a prime location is a joke and you should take your business elsewhere. They just want your money, they don’t care about pizza…

Can't speak to the atmosphere as a family member picked the order up. I'm not a pizza fan (or at least I wasn't) but, this was a quick and convenient option for our family of four while enjoying a beach day. I ordered a steak and cheese sub for myself, and a large 5 topping pizza and a 10 inch cheesey bread for the others. The steak and cheese was excellent, and after trying the cheese bread and pizza, I can say that I've found a pizza i LOVE!! lol.. wish there was a Crico's back home. Crust was perfect, sauce perfect, perfect amounts of toppings.. nothing at all to not love about anything we got here.

Looked promising. Dirty, two big trash cans inside, cleaning stuff out. The front half of the restaurant is cluttered storage. Not too friendly. $1 for water cups and water tastes terrible. But, food was good!

Good food! Friendly staff! The pizza crust is well done but not burnt, the cheese is perfect and the sauce is mild. It's a good bite of pizza. Also ordered the Italian sub and the beef and cheese sub. Both were prepared perfectly. You can really tell these guys know what they're doing! Worth the stop!

We did pick up on our last night of vacation. BUY THIS PIZZA! I’m a pizza connoisseur! This is a ten. Gluten free was good! I personally SLAMMED half a large of pep, mush and banana peppers. SO good and the people there were busting their behinds to get the orders out, correctly the first time.

We got a build your own large pizza and an order of the hot wings with extra ranch. Portions of wings and ranch are more generous than most. Pizza crust really held up to the toppings and it was a great dinner choice after traveling all day. Delivery time ran about an hour, which was OK for us, but if you’re in more of a hurry, you might want to order pick up. Delivery driver was very kind and friendly. Would order again.

When you visit, select from one of its signature libations (cocktails) or browse its menu for burgers, french fries, and sandwiches. The Flying Harpoon is known for live music events and staying open late.
You are going for the food and service. Not a let down at all. Do not judge a book by its cover. During the day it is very kid friendly, but a bar crowd later. Kids enjoyed a late lunch and drawing things to put up on the wall. We had spicy tuna dip and sliders to start! Awesome! Fried shrimp was great. Definitely be back to this hidden gem!

Very cool intamate atmosphere here. I was impressed by all the customer creative drawings on the walls! The po boys are top-notch, and their home tips were amazing just as advertised! The service was very unique, helpful, and fun. When I return to Gulf Shores this is where I will be!

Absolutely the freshest shrimp po-boy!!! Fun environment, great service, and amazing chips. Happy luncher here!! Looks like it would be perfect for a casual, indoor or outdoor happy hour, too.

This Tiny bar has some of the best food you’ll eat on the Gulf Coast. Parking is a premium and forget jamming in there when it full cause it can only handle a Dozen or so patrons at a time.

What a treat . We've been to Gulf Shores but have never stopped at the Flying Harpoon before. The food was really good, we tried several different things and everyone was raving about how good it is. Our first time, won't be our last. Don't go by the looks, it's a hidden gem, you need to check it out.

Likely the best place I've ever eaten. Can't even begin to express how much we enjoyed stopping here. Food, beer, service, atmosphere are all amazing.

Love the Poon! Best food on the island, and most consistent. Bartenders are AMAZING!!! Love and adore ALL of them! Best place to go when you are feeling homesick, everyone becomes family once you walk through the door. Added bonus the view!

Super friendly little place. Nice buffet breakfast with an omelet bar included. They kept everything well stocked while we were there. The food was really good. It was almost 45.00 for 2 people but not bad for an all you can eat breakfast at the beach.
Karen C — Google review
This breakfast buffet is a staple when I’m in gulf shores, has all the traditional favorites. The price is reasonable and the food is like you would make at home all at once, lol they do you have a lunch buffet, but I have never been able to make it over there at lunchtime so I can’t say as to that but the place has been around for many many years and I have been eating there for many many years, it is a great little place. All of the servers are always great and in a good mood they try really hard to make your experience, fun and enjoyable and also the omelette bar guy can make just about anything that you possibly would dream of . Do miss the other location that they used to have in Orange Beach, I do believe I’m thinking about the same owners on the one in Orange Beach, but I may be wrong on that

Looking for a really nice breakfast without the hype, Hazel’s Nook is the place! They have a breakfast and omelet bar, pancakes, hot coffee and no crazy drink specials, just good food - real fast. My server, Desirea was the nicest southern girl you could ever meet and the omelet guy cooked my combo omelet in just a few minutes., and then brought it to my table. What a really refreshing experience. I went to another breakfast restaurant yesterday while I was down and I felt like I was in a bar. These guys have figure out the recipe, good food, great service at a reasonable price. I’ll be back tomorrow, Thank You and see you Soon

Friendly service and great 👍🏼 custom made to order omelettes, cheese 🧀 grits were really good, lots of bacon 🥓, biscuits and gravy, fruit, French toast sticks, sausage. And all at a very reasonable cost. Definitely will be going back again.

Hazel's is our favorite breakfast place in the area!! The breakfast is delicious and everything you need for a hearty, satisfying meal! There's fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, pancakes, breakfast potatoes, cheesy hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, grits, baked apples, French toast sticks and THE BEST cheese grits I've ever had! Plus, you can build your own omelet, they'll cook it for you and bring it to your table! The ladies are all super nice and welcoming and the coffee's hot and fresh. The locals and snowbirds are always here so you know it's good, make sure and eat at Hazel's Nook!! Breakfast buffet price is about $12, coffee is $2.50.

If there had been more stars I would have given more. The breakfast buffet was so good! So many choices and you could have an omelet made like you want. All the food was very fresh. The service was wonderful and everyone was so kind and cheerful. We will definitely go back on our next trip!

If you are looking for a cute mom and pop joint that serves a great Southern breakfast, this is the place to go! We did the breakfast buffet which included cheese grits to die for and a made-to-order omlete. My omelet was awesome and I'm going to be thinking about their bacon and cheese grits for a LONG time. The inside is really cute with 1950s turquoise colored booths and a good amount of tables. Might be a good idea to leave time for a nap after breakfast.

A local friend brought us here for breakfast after a conversation about breakfast food not being so great! THEY ARE THE BREAKFAST HEADQUARTERS here at Hazels!!! It’s an amazing breakfast buffet with a fresh omelette making guy !!! This is a MUST go to!!!!

Lulu's Gulf Shores is a lively restaurant known for its vibrant atmosphere, offering a mix of hearty burgers, seafood dishes, and sandwiches alongside cocktails, beer, and wine. The eatery boasts a fun and funky setting with sandy dining areas among palm trees and live music. It features authentic coastal recipes by Lucy Buffett and offers gluten-free options.
We had an all around wonderful experience! Our server Billy was great and quick with good recommendations. I loved the atmosphere with the live music and we were able to be right by the water. We all enjoyed our food. The shrimp and grits and shrimp salad were so good! My kids got the crab melt and fried 1/2 & 1/2 both enjoyed it and were stuffed. The picture is of the Shrimp Salad and Peach Sunset drink. We got lucky on timing. No wait at all shortly before noon but left around 1 and there was a line.

We loved Lulu’s so much that we went back a 2nd time while on vacation in Gulf Shores!! The atmosphere is amazing not only for adults but also for kids and family! Food was outstanding and can’t say enough about the service!! Loved that they were so close to the water and beautiful views!! We will definitely go back!!!

Great experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is nice, the breeze was relaxing and everyone on the staff I encountered was very polite. I just grabbed a burger and fries but it was spot on. I felt the prices were very reasonable considering where it's located.
Casey N — Google review
So far the best shrimp & grits I've had in the area. William was an excellent server. Loved the tribute to Lucy's late big brother. Parrotheads need to always flock here at this one particular harbor.

We waited about an hour and a half, but it flew by since we had plenty of time to play arcade games, shop, and take photos—it was a great time! The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. Our waiter, Zac, was awesome—super attentive and made sure our drinks were never empty. Definitely recommend this place!
Stephanie S — Google review
Great food. Great atmosphere. There was live music the night we came. Very family friendly. The appetizers were amazing. I absolutely loved the Fried green tomatoes. Will be returning everytime we visit Gulf Shores
Kevin T — Google review
We didn't wait long at all for a table, & there's plenty to do while you wait. Everyone enjoyed their meal & our girls (7 & 12) thoroughly enjoyed the arcade. I recommend the shrimp & grits.. It was delicious & had plenty leftover for breakfast the next day! Girls had jerk chicken sandwich & cheese quesadilla they both enjoyed & hubby had the Keywest bowl he said was very good. The gumbo wasn't great.. I don't prefer a tomato based gumbo though.
Daphne R — Google review
The food is overrated and overpriced! My onion rings were cold. The crab melt lacked crab meat! The smoked tuna dip isn't smoked but it was edible. Let me warn you that it is served with saltine crackers and not the usual tortilla chips. However, the waiter was really nice and the atmosphere was beautiful. Just don't go for the food.

Located just 3 miles north of the stunning Gulf Shores beaches on Highway 59, The Track is an outdoor amusement park that offers a wide range of activities for the whole family. From go-kart tracks and bumper boats to roller coasters and arcade games, there's something for everyone. Thrill-seekers can enjoy attractions like The Wild Woody, a three-story wooden track, The Skyflyer, and bungee jumping, while younger visitors can explore Kids Kountry.
We had a fun time at The Track. We have three young kids 5 and under. We got the 125 ticket pass and spent about 2 hours exploring the park and riding on rides. The adults enjoyed the many race tracks and the kids liked the merry go rounds, swings, and boats. The card system makes it very easy to go from ride to ride. There are height requirements clearly posted, so you can easily see who's eligible. We agreed that the rides are well worth the price and you get a long time on each ride. This is a great option for a few hours of fun for a variety of ages!
Sherlyn S — Google review
We had fun riding. I give 4 stars only because they really should think about putting some padding in those seat cause it's a rough and hard ride lol but otherwise good times. They had beautiful colored fish in their pond you can get some food out of the machines to feed them.
Tamara H — Google review
So much fun but so expensive also. I’m adding photos of the cost/point menu as I didn’t see any others here. We came with a two family group. Kids ages 4,5,7,11 and 4 adults. We bought tickets/cards at the kiosks. Bathrooms were clean. Lots of snack and drink vending options in the arcade. I’d prefer to see a few more “game” games rather than just ticket games.
Kari H — Google review
We had the best time! The lines moved super fast and everyone was friendly. Everything was close together so we didn't have to do excessive walking which was a plus. Easy to find as well
Tonya S — Google review
Only came for the arcade. My FIL wanted to play pinball but they don’t have those kinds of games here. They are all games that you win tickets. My daughter had a good time and that is all that matters!
Rae J — Google review
We always visit the Track on our beach trips. This time we also played putt putt. There wasn’t really a lot of difficulty you see at other places, so it’s probably more suitable for younger kids. But we had fun.
TexasMomma7 — Google review
Expensive. But what isnt these days. Lots of different tracks for all ages and other things to do. Lines weren’t super long when we were there, so that was nice. Some of the go karts were pretty slow compared to others so my 13 and 15 yo boys weren’t super excited about that.

Ice cream shop

The Yard Milkshake Bar is a gourmet treat shop known for its numerous flavors of hand-dipped ice cream and abundant toppings in jars. Located in various cities, the original spot is in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The shop gained fame after being featured on Shark Tank and offers mammoth-sized milkshakes that are as visually impressive as they are delicious.
Wonderful sweet treat option for the whole family!! Tale in some shopping, a little mini putt action and wrap it up with one of the many tasty ice cream treats at The Yard Milkshake Bar!! Don't let your eyes overload your tummy!!
Michelle K — Google review
The ice cream and cookie dough here were truly delicious—rich in flavor and clearly made with quality ingredients. That said, the prices are quite high, which may make it difficult to justify a return visit, especially with so many other ice cream options available. The shop was very busy during our visit, which speaks to its popularity, but I was impressed by how quickly our order was prepared and served. Overall, it was a fun place to try, but I’d likely explore other spots before coming back.
David H — Google review
A glorified ice cream bar that is so expensive but is a nice one time experience. The ice cream itself is good and the concoctions are cool. You get to keep the glasses the milkshakes come in. There was only 1 person working but she cranked out 6 premium cups and 1 milkshake crazy fast.
Rae J — Google review
Everything on the menu looks delicious 😋. If you are in town this a great place to get a cold treat. The varieties of toppings and ice cream is overwhelming at times because you want to try them all! This is going to be one of my favorite spots for my family.
Jesse A — Google review
Kiana our “milkshake maker” was so kind & gave some great recommendations when there are so many options to choose from. The portions are definitely enough for 2 so don’t think you should force yourself to have your own! My wife wasn’t the only one who got the oatmeal cream pie… it was great!
Connor S — Google review
Such a cute ice cream shop and so much to offer!! Ice cream was absolutely delish and great service! We absolutely loved it and would definitely go back!!
Tricia T — Google review
The Yard is a fun place! Souvenir glass jar is $20, in a paper cup is $14. They also have edible cookie dough, and ice cream! 3 scoops of cookie dough is $4!
Taylor 3 — Google review
One of the more disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve had. I have heard of the Yard for many years & had high expectations, I feel like they have set the new trend for oversized fancy milkshakes, I even watched them on shark tank. But it was a terrible experience for the following reasons. - 1 milkshake & 2 small scoops of ice cream for $30 is ridiculous - they were out of the 2/3 of the ice cream we ordered and had to change our order - they wanted everything to come out at the same time but the scoops would be sitting on the counter melting while waiting on rest of food -ice cream is nothing special it’s just Blue Bell, go to wallmart and buy it yourself and save yourself a mortgage payment - the vanilla milkshake I got (because they where out of birthday cake, which is the 1st milkshake on the menu) was terrible and melted and a waste of calories - place was over-crowded, others were leaving disappointed

Sightseeing tour agency
Sunny Lady Dolphin Cruises at The Wharf in Gulf Shores offers a range of family-friendly dolphin cruises, lasting from 1 to 2 hours. Advanced booking is usually required as these popular tours tend to sell out, especially during the summer months. Guests have praised the knowledgeable and fun crew, with Captain Lucy being particularly highlighted for making the experience memorable. Passengers enjoyed interacting with dolphins and feeding seagulls while cruising along.
All I can say is wow! This experience was incredible for all ages. I would recommend this for everyone in the gulf coast to try. Captain Jeremy and crew done an amazing job putting us on several pods of dolphins. Several sunset picture opportunities, and laughs all around. You truly get the "bang" for your buck. My Husband, kids and I were absolutely thrilled from start to finish. 10/10 highly recommend. 👌
Heather D — Google review
This was a wonderful experience for all ages! We loved seeing so many dolphins playfully following the boat and the sunset was absolutely beautiful. The entire family, from the kids to the adults, had an amazing time. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip fun and engaging. This was definitely a highlight of our vacation, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable evening on the water. Thank you to the crew for creating good memories for travelers.
Liliana R — Google review
We had a blast on the Sunny Lady! Rusty, Kinsley, and Jasmine were the best crew. They kept us laughing and having fun. I thought it was super sweet Rusty remembered all the kids names and kept checking to see if they knew which side to look on. We saw dolphins almost the whole time. They played in our wake and hung out with us. And feeding the gulls was hilarious and exciting. My kids loved getting a Cheeto and then the birds immediately grabbing it. The cruise was about 1.5 hours and we were engaged the whole time. Getting to take pictures in the Captain’s chair and having the crew take family photos was a very sweet touch. All the wildlife facts were fun and I laughed so much at Rusty’s jokes.
Kat B — Google review
We visit Gulf Shores and Orange Beach often. The beaches and surrounding area are beautiful and much less crowded than Florida, not to mention most everything is generally cheaper, as well. If seeing dolphins is on your list of things to do while at the beach, Sunny Lady Dolphin Cruises should be your first choice in Orange Beach. You can check their website for cost and information, however, during our last trip in October 2025, it averaged about $27 per person. The cruise itself lasts about 90 minutes. You'll find them located at the Wharf along with lots of other great shopping, restaurants, and bars. The boat is a double decker and offers light snacks and drinks. Our crew, Kensley, JJ, and Captain Nate were absolutely wonderful and ensured everyone on board had great memories. We spotted a pod of dolphins after just a few minutes into the cruise. Captain Nate slowed the boat and made sure everyone had an opportunity to see the dolphins and take pictures. Overall, one of the best dolphin cruises we'd experienced. This was largely in part of the crew. Thank you Kensley, JJ, and Captain Nate for making our trip memorable.
Steve ( — Google review
The tour was very nice. I came with a party of 3, and there was plenty of seating available on the top deck. The tour time slot after us was much more packed, however. We were able to see dolphins multiple times in the 2hr boat ride. It was a nice time to spend time with family, while also being entertained and engaged by the staff from time to time. Would recommend for families that want a chill time spent together while also sightseeing on the water and taking part in some other cool activities.

Had the best time! Captain Jeramy was amazing! We even got to see a momma and her baby dolphin before we took off! Honestly my favorite was how interactive the crew was it made it a good time! I’d definitely do it again! From coming from the dmv area to here for the first time they made it pleasant!

Hot dog restaurant
Restaurant
If you're in Gulf Shores, make sure to stop by Wacked Out Weiner for a unique dining experience that will tantalize your taste buds! This lively eatery allows you to craft your own hotdog or nachos with an impressive selection of toppings. From spicy jalapenos and savory baked beans to sweet pineapple and hearty chili, the options are endless.
I came here a few days ago with my family. I thought it was gonna be a regular simple hot dog restaurant, I was WRONG. As soon I entered I was welcomed and it was not just a regular welcome but a WELCOME filled with energy and enthusiasm. When I came in it wasn't busy. The owner (I should have got his name) explained how Wacked Out Weiners worked. You get a hot dog with unlimited toppings and you get to choose from a variety of chips as a side and a 20 oz bottle drink all for about $7 in total the owner and the young girl had great energy. They checked in while we were eating and even grabbed our empty plates. The hot dogs were good too. To be frank it's a Nathan's hot dog in the hot dog rollers or you can choose a smoked sausage. You control your flavor with the toppings. The whole experience and the value makes everything come down greatly. The customer service was great even when it got busy when 3 more families came in. We even took pictures on the hot dog suits in the selfie booth. I don't live in the area but if I did I would out this spot in rotation, because it's great value and excellent service.

We have been waiting to come here for 5 years. Our first planned visit was cancelled due to Covid but 5 years later we finally arrived. It was well worth the wait. The food was fantastic and they will custom make anything you want. They are very friendly and make sure you leave happy and full. The prices are very very reasonable. Thanks again for providing a great place to eat. We’ll definitely stop next time we visit.
Bill G — Google review
Quality all beef Nathan’s wieners are the base for these funky concoctions. Large variety of toppings. Create your own or dog or choose some specialty dogs. I had the Wacky Macky and the Frito Pie. Chili could be a bit spicier for my taste, but the quality was good. A must stop for dog lovers.
Michael B — Google review
This place was amazing! One of the top food places we found while on vacation. The prices are great, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is phenomenal and lively! We were immediately greeted with smiling faces and playful banter which our kiddo thought was funny. We got our weiners wacked out with their homemade chili and cheese and it was delicious! We all devoured every bite! They even have a cute little set up for photo ops in the back. Such a cool place and for the quality and experience the price cannot be beat. Would totally recommend this spot!
Brittany F — Google review
This is hands down one of the best places I've ever eaten. The chili is out of this world. The owner makes it himself and it puts Wendy's to shame and will have your momma jealous. I came for a casual hotdog, and I left with a newfound staple in my outings. This food was incredible. The selection is wide enough that anyone from anywhere could enjoy a hotdog or sausage. Worth going out of your way for, Wacked out Weiners has the best dogs on earth.

Wacked Out Weiner is a must visit when in Gulf Shores! The Hot Dogs are really good and tons of options. Great Nachos too! The service is impeccable! The owner is a super cool guy! So, kind and funny! They take great care of you here and make your dining experience super fun! They even have a selfie area with hot dog costumes for you and your pets. The owner has some mad photography skills and even gives you his selfie. 😂

The staff was friendly and welcoming. Great hot dogs for a reasonable price. Loved the hot dog costumes to dress up in with the selfie spot. My husband is very excited about his new coffee mug that says "world's best Weiner" Will definitely come back the next time we are visiting Gulf shores!

With over 100 years of history, this legendary spot offers some of the freshest oysters in various preparations, along with classic dishes like seafood gumbo and red beans and rice. The Gulf Shores location features a variety of seafood platters, with the Captain's Platter being a standout option.

From the minute we walked in till the minute we left was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was great. Our server Jay was phenomenal and the food was outstanding especially the alligator bites and their house dipping sauce😋😋we both had the fried shrimp platter and were pleased with it. It was cooked perfectly . We had the bread pudding as well and it was really good.

This is a great place. Ive been many many times. I always go to the bar for top notch service. The oysters are the best in the area no matter if you are looking for raw, fried or my favorite, chargrilled. Secret is in the sauce. The salads are pretty good as well as po-boys. Service is really friendly and rumor has it some of the shuckers have trouble counting. LOL! Many thanks, to the Great bunch of guys behind the counter! It also has seating outdoors with a covered back deck looking over the Inter-coastal Waterway. Well worth the drive from Pensacola! I will definitely be going back. Urban Cowgill July 2025

First time visitor to the area and Acme was highly recommended. I wanted something different and ordered the Butter Bean Platter with smoked sausage. Oh my goodness! It did NOT disappoint, at all! I also tried and loved a chargrilled oysters (first time for an oyster!) Never had anything like it before. Austin was a great waiter. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved our dining experience at Acme. Our waiter was top notch, atmosphere was amazing, food was delicious and fast, bar drinks were great! We had the chargrilled oysters, shrimp, fish and strawberry margarita. I do recommend to get there before 6 as they fill up quickly.
Dana B — Google review
We hit up Acme recently for my mom's 70th birthday, and while the location is awesome, right there on the water with a nice atmosphere, that’s pretty much what stood out the most. We were a party of five, so I got to try a good variety of food, and honestly, most of it was a letdown. The redfish special was decent, the 10x napkin roast beef and shrimp po' boys was disappointing and way overpriced for what they were. I'd say the chargrilled oysters were tasty, but they were small and again way overpriced. Rockefeller soup tasted like it came straight out of a can. The only solid players of the night were the Paloma and Voodoo Mary cocktails. The BOO fries were pretty good as well. We came back because our first visit about four years ago was great! But this time, it just didn't hit the same. I get that prices are up everywhere, but I still expect the food and service to match the bill, and they absolutely didn't. The service was lacking, our hostess set a negative tone when she offered to seat us outside in the patio. Which we were happy about since the weather was perfect, except she decided to put us at the only empty table in the patio directly under the hot sun, even though the whole patio was practically empty. When I asked politely if we could move, she gave off this vibe like we were inconveniencing her. We ended up just picking a better table ourselves. That unnecessary little moment kind of soured the start of the whole birthday dinner. Bottom line? The food was forgettable. Nothing stood out like it did the first time. We left feeling like, "It was fine... but definitely not worth the cash." I really wanted to love it again, but Acme just fell flat this time around.

We had a large birthday celebration here and everything was perfect. We made reservations as it was Shrimp Festival weekend but we wouldn't have had a long wait anyway. Those off-bottom oysters! I have been dreaming about them ever since. They were small, salty and SO flavorful that I didn't even bother with a cracker. The crab claws were a little on the small side but they were still very good and there were plenty to fill me up. It was a wonderful meal and I can't wait to have more of those oysters.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Our waiter Cameron was awesome. He suggested the charbroiled oysters! OMG, never had before and they were so awesome!!! Don’t know if I can go back to raw now ever again lol! Watched them shuck them right there. My husband had the Jambalaya. Also excellent! Will go back again for sure!

Italian restaurant
Bar & grill
Nestled in The Wharf entertainment complex, Villaggio Grille is a vibrant eatery offering a delightful blend of Italian and American cuisine. With a year-round outdoor patio, this Mediterranean Italian fusion restaurant provides an inviting atmosphere to savor its delectable dishes. From wood-fired oysters and fresh salads to entrees like grilled beef fillet mignon and chicken scaloppini, there's something for everyone.
At Villaggio Grille, the Truffle Oil and Sausage Pizza is a standout. The truffle oil gives the pizza a rich, earthy flavor, and the sausage adds a nice, savory kick. The salmon is cooked perfectly—tender and flavorful—and the risotto is creamy and delicious. The short rib bruschetta with carrot is a great combination of flavors; the sweet carrot and savory short rib blend together really well. Overall, the meal was fantastic, with each dish offering something unique and tasty. Definitely worth trying!

Villaggio Grille was a decent stop on our trip to the Gulf Shores area. Unfortunately, while service started off great for our meal, we were left alone with no service for far too long by the end. The majority of our group ended up getting up to explore the shopping center while a few stayed behind to pay. Food was okay, but would not come back based on this experience.

We had our wedding reception dinner here. I wasn't excepting to have the private room so that was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. The waiter and waitress we had were really nice and accommodating. We appreciate being able to order from the kids menu for the children present. The adults really enjoyed their entrees as well. Thanks for allowing separate checks. We love the Wharf area and will be back to visit soon.

This was our first visit to the Gulf Shores area so all of our restaurant picks have been based on reviews. I’m here to offer a review that I don’t see listed. This place is ok. If you’re in the area of the Wharf then sure, it works. But next time I won’t go out of my way to visit this restaurant or the Wharf. None of it seems to be managed well. We sat outside because it was a nice night. Everything seemed dirty and loud. The guys cleaning off tables pushed around a cart with dirty dishes that was exceptionally loud bouncing on the cobblestone ground. And they were cleaning the tables with a rag that was extremely dirty. The food wasn’t bad. We started with a house salad that was really good and a Caesar salad that was very lacking (it didn’t even have croutons). My husband got the pork chop that was overcooked and dry but the sides were delicious (Mac and cheese and broccolini). My girls had a wood fired pizza that didn’t look like it was baked in a HOT wood fired oven. My oysters were very flavorful but they were tiny! All in all it didn’t have the ambiance or quality that we were expecting.

I dined alone last night at Villaggio Grill and had a pretty disappointing experience. I started with a blueberry coconut mojito, which was very good. I ordered the burrata caprese appetizer and then the seared scallop entree, which I was really excited to try. After about 45 minutes, my server came to tell me that the reason my entree was taking so long is because my scallops were “frozen solid”. I appreciate the honest communication, but I would rather not have known my seafood was frozen, though I do understand that is a common occurrence in most restaurants. At this point, I still had not received my appetizer, so I politely asked for that in the meantime. My entree arrived a few minutes later and I was immediately disappointed with the portion for the price I was paying. The four scallops were rather small, but they were cooked pretty well. The risotto was extremely bland and there was no vegetable side included with the dinner. After I completed my entree, my appetizer finally arrived and it was the shining star of my entire meal. As a restaurant manager myself, I would want to know this information, so I did give this feedback to the manager on duty. She was apologetic and offered to remove the appetizer from my meal, which I did not expect but do appreciate. Overall, the experience was disappointing, but I can see how others may enjoy this establishment.

I live in Gulf Shores. Villaggio is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is great. Usually, I sit at a table, and my service is also exceptional. Today, I was with a group, and we wanted to watch football games so we sat outside at the bar. Here’s a piece of advice: If your bar tender at Villaggio, is Monica, here are the choices: 1. Ask for another bar tender. Keith is a great option. 2. Move to a different section of the bar because the bar tenders other than Monica seemed to be excellent. 3. Leave. Go to another bar. Monica is rude. Monica doesn’t pay attention to her customers. Monica rolls her eyes when someone needs something. Monica serves you one drink and never comes back to see if you need another. When someone tries to get Monica’s attention, sometimes she pretends she doesn’t hear the person and sometimes she says, “I know, I know,” and then turns around and walks away. Obviously, she doesn’t know. Monica projects a poor image for such an amazing establishment. With years of restaurant experience, If I had hired Monica, I would remove Monica from my payroll. Thanks, Villaggio, for great food and atmosphere. Please, at the very least, have a chat with Monica.

My family celebrated my husband’s birthday on Thursday. My niece made reservations for 10 of us with specific instructions of sitting in the main room which we were sat at promptly. Drinks by Jack were perfect. Jim our server was great bringing us perfect, delicious meals. Ivey and staff showed up at the end singing Happy Birthday with in incredible dessert tray!!! Amazing!!! We appreciate you Villaggio staff, thank you.

Seafood restaurant
Big Fish Restaurant is a cozy strip-mall eatery that offers a varied menu with a focus on seafood, as well as steaks and pasta. The restaurant provides an elegant ambiance and an extensive menu, making it perfect for a romantic dining experience. Their Hurricane dinner for two features a delightful selection of seafood dishes. Open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday, the restaurant specializes in fresh fish and seafood dishes bursting with wonderful flavors.
Great choice for date night while on vacation. We started with the lobster roll, which was so light and flavorful. Amazing fresh fish/scallops dishes and the honey cake was literally icing on the cake! Our Server was Niya S and she had great recommendations and was very attentive. Already looking forward to our next trip!

Big Fish Restaurant – A Delightful Dining Experience in Orange Beach, AL My wife and I recently dined at Big Fish Restaurant in Orange Beach, and from start to finish, it was a truly outstanding experience. I ordered the red snapper, perfectly cooked and served atop a fresh bed of spinach salad with a tangy vinaigrette dressing. The flavors were balanced and satisfying—light yet rich in character. My wife chose the three-tailed fish, accompanied by sautéed spinach and creamy mashed potatoes. She loved every bite, and her meal ended on a high note with a decadent chocolate dessert—“very rich,” in her words, and an indulgent treat. Our waitress was an absolute gem. She took the time to listen to my wife’s dietary restrictions and made excellent suggestions to accommodate her needs without compromising flavor. That kind of attentiveness made the meal all the more enjoyable. We timed our visit just right—no wait time to be seated, which gave us a chance to relax and savor the cozy atmosphere from the get-go. The ambiance was inviting without being overly formal, striking just the right balance for a leisurely evening out. From the flavorful seafood to the thoughtful service and smooth dining experience, Big Fish Restaurant more than lived up to its name. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you're in the Orange Beach area and looking for top-notch seafood with a welcoming vibe, this spot is a must-try.

Big Fish is probably our favorite restaurant to go to when we're down at Orange Beach, AL. No matter what you order on the menu, it's always amazing. Even my daughter's grilled cheese was awesome (and I don't usually like grilled cheese). I do recommend a reservation as this spot is popular. We ordered a couple of the fresh catches of the day finished with the Big Fish style topping, fire cracker shrimp (with added spice), ribeye steak, and grilled cheese. Thanks for the amazing and memorable dinners, Big Fish. Everything was amazing!

The food is impeccable, the chefs special is always amazing! Sushi is flavorful and amazing. We got the golden tile, Philly roll and fried fish for the kids. Complimentary crackers and butter are a nice touch! This is our second time back in the area and we always go here to eat!

If I could leave 10 stars I would. The food was exceptional, the menu had so many great seafood options - but the sushi, the grouper, AND Jolly Rancher martinis... say less. Would hands down come back and would recommend anyone thinking of eating here to do so!

The food is absolutely divine! I highly recommend the grouper with the asian twist. The cucumbers were also outstanding, and the sushi was a hit. We love coming here and can't wait to come back!

6 top there for a birthday party and we had: appetizers of beef tataki, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, dumplings, and crab claws. The only seasoning on anything of those dishes was the sesame oil on the beef. Then we each got entrees and drinks. I can’t speak to what everyone thought about their entrees, but… I worked for a sushi restaurant in college, so I can tell just by looking at a spicy tuna roll whether or not it will be good. And when they sat my plate down I was bummed. Overall, not a bad place. Good service, it does all the things of being nice and to be “the” place around town. Locals rave about it. But personally I don’t get it.
Nikki W — Google review
My wife and I stopped here during our honeymoon last week and loved it. She had the golden tile and I had the triple tail. Both were amazing!! Adele (I believe is how it's spelled) was awesome!! She was very informative and suggested the different dishes. Will definitely be back if in the area!!!

The nature center had many coastal reptiles and very informative. Also the beach access is very clean with bathrooms, pavilion and life guards on duty. The parking is $10

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our day at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama was absolutely amazing and easily one of the highlights of our trip. We decided to rent e-bikes from a local company called Paradise Pedal LLC, and that turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. The owner was so kind and helpful from start to finish. He went above and beyond to make sure our family had everything we needed for a perfect ride. We have a three-year-old and a seven-year-old, and he set us up with two great little carriages for the kids so they could ride along safely and comfortably. He even made us a great deal and personally delivered the bikes to us so we could start our adventure right at the park. The bikes themselves were in perfect condition and such a joy to ride. The electric assist made it easy to cruise along the trails and enjoy all the beautiful scenery without getting tired. The trails through Gulf State Park are stunning. There are lakes, boardwalks, and so many peaceful paths that make you feel surrounded by nature. We passed through shaded areas, open stretches by the water, and even spotted some wildlife along the way. It was so relaxing and fun to explore everything at our own pace. The kids had an absolute blast riding in the carriages, laughing and pointing out things along the way. It was such a great family experience that everyone enjoyed. The park itself is very clean, well maintained, and easy to navigate. There are rest stops, picnic areas, and lots of places to take a break and enjoy the view. I cannot recommend Gulf State Park enough, especially if you pair your visit with an e-bike rental from Paradise Pedal LLC. The combination of beautiful scenery, smooth trails, and such kind service made for a perfect day. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Gulf Shores. It is a must-do for families or anyone who loves being outdoors and exploring in a fun and relaxing way.

Excellent location! Close to aqua green beaches and fantastic restaurants, shopping, and a short drive to awesome Fort Morgan, Fairhope and Foley. Beautiful trails crisscross through and around the park. Gorgeous freshwater lake for fishing, swimming or boating. Clean, spacious, well cared for RV sites with shade trees and grass. Huge gorgeous pool. The showers are okay. Better than some I've seen. Laundry room has several machines. This is a safe, gated part, with friendly and accommodating staff.

Very relaxing place where you can sit by the water for hours or go for a walk or ride a bike or...whatever you want to do. There's so much to do in nature in God's creation. It's just peaceful place that every time I'm in the area I will go. My husband and I enjoy it so much.

Beautiful park with tons of amenities, and it's right across the street from a beautiful beach! The camper sites are generous and plenty... this place is huge! They have full hookups, a swimming pool and splash pad, electric bike rentals, ice machines, and the nicest staff... what more could you want? This is probably one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever been to if you include all the amenities and the beach across the street... I'll definitely be back!

Gulf Shores Seafood is a renowned seafood market and restaurant in Gulf Shores, Alabama. With over 60 years of experience, it offers the freshest seafood including Gulf shrimp, crab legs, oysters, and scallops. Conveniently located near Waterville USA, it's a popular stop for beachgoers. While it's primarily a grab-and-go spot without seating, visitors rave about its low country boil and various dips.
Country Boil for 2 is $25! Lots of shrimp, 2 large corn on cob, 2 large sausages, 6-8 or so potatoes! Snow crab cluster is $26 a lb. All of this for $50! Awesome place. Mild, medium and Cajun garlic butter seasoning available! Went back later in the week. Got the same thing! Def recommend! Best bang for your buck!

We ordered this amazing seafood from Goldbelly and had it shipped overnight to northern Alabama ! What a fantastic experience, everything was still cold and ice packs were still solid even in this 90 degree Alabama heat ! The shrimp are very large , sausage corn and potatoes fresh and the instructions on how to season and boil were spot on ! Thank you for excellent service and a delicious dinner !! 🍤 🌽 🥔

As someone who has been coming to Gulf Shores all my life and grew up eating gumbo in New Orleans. However this was some of the best Gumbo I’ve had since I left the 504. The boudin was outrageous, the andouille was great, the old bay butter was perfect (you can never go wrong with a good whipper butter). The shrimp and crab legs were AMAZING in our low country boil. I will recommend this spot to anyone and everyone who is visiting Gulf Shores. Pro Tip: get the gumbo here, go up to rouses and get a French bread loaf….heaven on earth.

We arrived to find that they were very busy and understaffed; however, the workers were amazing! They were so exceptional that even my teenage sons suggested I write a review. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The shrimp was fantastic, and the peanut butter pie was delicious! I can't wait to visit again this week.

Don’t sleep on this place! It was our third market stop today. We grabbed the lump crab dip and everything seasoned bagettes. That didn’t even make back to the fam. We were looking for boudin. They had a small variety and the balls are always my personal fave. Can’t wait to cook them! Customer service was exceptional!

Ordered royal reds to go. Opened at home and they were just plain old gulf shrimp. Kitchen couldn’t even be bothered to run a knife down the back and devein them. Premium charge for bare minimum effort.

We have been eating here for almost 30 years when on vaca ... often 4 or 5 times in one week. We have referred hundreds here over these years. We brought our parents w us this time only to get 3 lbs of the smallest mushy shrimp that was difficult to peal and spent almost $100 They don't do individual meals any more. We always order the larger red royals. Not a good experience under the new owners. Very sad about this. Not sure that we will be back.

The Wharf Amphitheater

Amphitheater
Performing arts theater
The Wharf Amphitheater is a popular venue located within The Wharf complex in Orange Beach. It hosts big-name concerts and events throughout the year, with a seating capacity of 10,000 offering both covered and open-air seating options. In addition to concerts, visitors can enjoy shopping, dining, and a marina within The Wharf complex. Nearby attractions include the OWA amusement park in Foley, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, and the Gulf State Pier in Orange Beach.
Teddy Swims was absolutely awesome, but buying tickets was a total disaster. I was going with my 11-year-old and wanted to make sure he would be able to see everything — but it ended up being a complete guess, because there’s nowhere to check your view from different points when buying tickets. Important: Sections 101–103 and the pit are all on the same flat level, so your view will be blocked by whoever stands in front of you. And yes, everyone will be standing! Sections 200 and up are the first areas that are actually elevated and lined up more directly with the stage. If you short and want a clear view, definitely aim for the 200 sections or higher.
Alice I — Google review
The Wharf Amphitheater is one of the cleanest and best organized venues I’ve been to. Parking was easy, staff was friendly, and the setup makes every seat feel close to the stage. The sound quality was crystal clear and the lighting made the whole concert feel electric. Seeing Phish there was an incredible experience and I’d definitely come back for any show. Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves great live music in a clean, comfortable setting.

We drove 8 hours to see Twenty-one Pilots. Worth every mile. Wonderful town of Orange beach had friendly people and amazing food. This venue was so organized and sat a large number of people without compromising the view.
Marialexandraa O — Google review
First of all it gets very humid here. It basically built on a swamp. Be prepared to pay a fair amount for anything. A small bottled water is $6 after tax. You can imagine what everything else is. The sound is pretty high decibel so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to sound. That being said it's still a nice facility for a concert.
Tom G — Google review
Went to see the Coral Reefers. The amphitheater is showing its age but a diamond. Only real complaint was the stalls in the men's room had broken doors and/or latches. This is a simple maintenance issue that shouldn't be a complex fix.
Scott T — Google review
This venue is awesome! Great bands and acts, Fantastic sound all around! Plenty of vendors and they have a convenient smoking area. I've been twice to see great rock concerts and I will definitely buy tickets to see other acts in the near future!
Chris H — Google review
I recently visited The Wharf Amphitheater with my mother-in-law for a concert, and while the performance and production were fantastic, several operational issues took away from the overall experience. We arrived via Coast Cab (highly recommend—affordable, punctual, and personable). The security process at the entrance felt more like a formality than effective protection. We walked through a metal detector while holding our keys, phones, and wallets—yet were told we couldn’t bring in our small purses because they weren’t clear. Interestingly, the metal detector still beeped due to the items we held, but we were waved through without any additional screening. I even asked if they could simply search our purses, and the security guard said no—that it was just their policy. It gave the impression that the restriction had less to do with guest safety and more to do with encouraging on-site purchases. In practice, it felt less like a security measure and more like a sales tactic. This raises a fair question: Is the bag restriction really about safety, or about limiting what guests bring in to increase concession sales? With bottled water priced at $5.50, soda at $6.50, and alcoholic beverages pushing $18.50, the financial incentive is hard to ignore. The inconsistency in enforcing this policy only added to the frustration. Also worth noting: the venue is cashless, which was not clearly communicated ahead of time. That’s important information for guests to know before arriving. Finding our seats was another challenge. Many section and row numbers were marked with small, hard-to-see stickers, which created unnecessary confusion for guests. A simple update—larger, clearly painted markers and improved signage—would make a big difference in guest experience. That said, there were some strong positives. The sound quality was excellent, and the large LED screens ensured a good view from nearly any seat. The boardwalk entrance and exit areas were well-lit, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The bleachers were clean, and the natural surroundings gave the space an open, comfortable feel.

Doc’s Seafood and Steaks is a popular dining spot with several locations, offering a laid-back atmosphere and a menu filled with Gulf Coast favorites. The original location on Canal Road in Orange Beach is known for its expansive offerings of steak and seafood, including the best fried shrimp, delicious seafood gumbo, and fresh oysters. Additionally, they offer to cook up your own catch if you've had a successful day fishing.
If a place advertises "The best fried shrimp in the entire civilized world" you have to give them a try! I enjoyed the fried shrimp, for sure. I was a bigger fan of the stuffed crab. Something different here: you prepare your own cocktail sauce. They give you a little plastic cup with horseradish in it, then you add the ketchup, worsheshire sauce and lemon. It was actually pretty good! Now, I know how to make my own. This is a family friendly restaurant. They had games and things outside. There are also other locations.

If youre looking for casual, laid back and relaxed dining - this is it. Easy menu. Kid friendly. We split a basket - half fried shrimp (amazing) half fried crab cakes (not our favorite). Ordered a skewer of butter grilled shrimp and that was way better. Kid menu options too. Live music and games outside for the kids!

I’ve always enjoyed Doc’s fried fish and was impressed with the grilled fish flavor and juiciness. First time to this new location and it’s very nice compared to the original; although i do like the round tables at the other location more than the long tables for large groups. This new location is also very loud. We had a great experience with our group, great service and delicious food. And as always the hushpuppies are the highlight of my meal. They are by far my favorite of any in this area.

I came here to Orange Beach for vacation with my Mom and stepfather last month. We went to a restaurant almost every day we were here, including this seafood restaurant. Which made perfect sense now that we were at the beach. I ordered the Mahi Mahi specialty dinner, to savor the opportunity to enjoy fresh seafood. And boy was it delectable!

We went on Columbus Day with about 40 classmates from the Foley Class of 73. They were able to sit us in an area where we were all together, we had several awesome servers assigned to us. The servers quickly knocked out and served all of our drinks. They offered us great suggestions from the menu. Our food was quickly and expertly prepared. Everyone present seemed to really enjoy their meals.

I heard great reviews about this location so my family and I decided to try it. I just don't understand. It was a lot of food but the flavor just wasn't there. Our waitress for some reason had an attitude most of the night. She acted like she didn't want to be there and we were a bother. We tried to just let it go but it made the visit somewhat awkward. It just wasn't worth it for the price we paid.
Steven B — Google review
Doc’s Seafood delivers that laid-back beach shack vibe you want after a long day in the sun. Their fried shrimp often steals the show crispy, well seasoned.., and satisfying. Some dishes (like gumbo or red snapper) land okay, but occasionally lean a bit bland or salty. Service tends to be friendly and fast, though during busy times you’ll feel the wait. Atmosphere is relaxed, casual, with that local charm. Prices can run a bit high for what you get, but overall it’s a solid stop if you’re craving seafood and don’t need fancy.

Came for dinner to try what was claimed to be the best shrimp in civilization. The waitress was very nice but mixed our drinks up upon arrival to the table. As far as the shrimp goes it was okay wouldn't say it was the best as advertised. But over all it was a fun atmosphere.

Brunch restaurant
Ruby Slipper is a cheerful cafe known for its signature omelets, Southern brunch dishes, and cocktails in a laid-back setting. Originating in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the first Ruby Slipper Cafe was established in New Orleans in 2008. Since then, it has expanded to over 10 locations across the Southeast, including one in Orange Beach, Alabama. The cafe offers creative eggs Benedict options such as Gulf shrimp and fried green tomatoes.
Join the waitlist! Busy place! We came for brunch and left stuffed! Everything looked too good! The white chocolate chip bread pudding pancake was super sweet - too much for my taste, but it was super good! Biscuits are the best there could ever be! Service was great. We sat at bar because it was so busy. Our bartender/waitress, Hannah, was so nice and helpful.

We decided to have breakfast with our wedding guest before departing. Our server, Carson (I think), was super nice. He had us laughing and having a good time. We ordered the pineapple upside-down French toast and the shrimp and grits. The French toast was yummy. It was a different twist to French toast but good. We didn't care for the grits too much, but the shrimp and the sauce were tasty. My uncle enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. My husband switched his coffee for a vanilla spiced latte and was wowed. It was so savory. We have visited the Ruby Slipper in New Orleans before, and we will definitely be visiting both locations again in the future.

Exceptional breakfast location right in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Our server was fast, friendly and cheerful. The omelette was perfectly prepared and filled, and the cat’s had biscuit was a perfect addition to the plate. I ate every bit of it! The atmosphere is loud enough if you bring your children, but not enough if you wanna have a quiet cup of coffee for breakfast Recommended

I was visiting my grandparents in Foley, and my girlfriend and I decided to go out for breakfast. We stopped by this location on 5/29/25, and we had a kind lady by the name of Crystal as our server. She provided excellent service—friendly, attentive, and very patient with all our questions about the menu. It was clear she took pride in her work and genuinely enjoyed what she was doing. The coffee was great, and the food was even better. The only downside was the side of catfish I ordered. For $8, the portion was quite small, the texture was soggy, and it tasted more like swai than catfish. Other than that, we really enjoyed our meal and the overall atmosphere. We’d definitely come back!

We had a great breakfast at The Ruby Slipper in Orange Beach! Everything we ordered—from the Benedicts to the omelet and breakfast tacos—was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The portions were generous, and the atmosphere had a fun, welcoming vibe that made it easy to relax and enjoy our meal. Our server, Carson, was awesome. Super friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. He made the whole experience even better. If you’re in the area and looking for a quality brunch spot, Ruby Slipper is definitely worth a visit!

Came here today to surprise my Dad with a little treat. Was immediately greeted by Nate the bartender. Had my pup with me so we chose to sit in the patio lounge area. Crystal, was very friendly and recommended we get the Eggs Cochon Chicken St Charles. AMAZING!! Been here a couple times this WEEK. Service is always A-1. Please try the biscuits n gravy if you’re in town. Also, full bar service and a HUGE dinning area. Guess I’ll be back tomorrow😎

Crystal was a wonderful server and very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. She gave us some great suggestions of menu favorites. It was a great dining experience and I would highly recommend The Ruby Slipper!!!

If you’re anywhere near Orange Beach and not stopping by Ruby Slipper, you’re seriously missing out. We popped in for brunch and was instantly greeted with that Southern warmth that makes you feel like you’re visiting family (the kind you actually like). The Eggs Benedict? Absolute showstopper. Perfectly poached eggs, velvety hollandaise, and just the right kick of flavor, it’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and say, “Okay, wow.” Service was top notch too. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there, which, let’s be honest, makes all the difference when you’re still waking up and in desperate need of coffee and kindness. Ruby Slipper nails the brunch game. Already planning my next visit.

Fast food restaurant
Hamburger restaurant
Hardee's is a fast-food chain that offers crispy chicken, large burgers, and homemade breakfast biscuits. The employee who takes orders and manages the drive-thru window is extremely amiable and enthusiastic. Currently, this location exclusively operates through the drive-thru, likely due to a combination of COVID-related circumstances and limited workforce availability. The sausage biscuit is delightful; served promptly and accompanied by a pleasant demeanor.
Great place. Manager runs a good crew. I observed her in mentoring a younger worker to be a better employee. Was so cool to see that! Got the strawberry shake and hot ham and cheese sandwiches. Recommend stopping here
Chad M — Google review
They had a small issue with their drive thru this morning. So a nice lady came out and recommended we come inside to order. I believe Hardee's had one of the best breakfasts of any fast food chains. 2 steak biscuits for $5.50. It was quick and yummy. Thank you.
Tom C — Google review
We went inside to eat twice while on vacation. The food was always fresh, and the workers were always friendly. We had a large group (10), and we received our food fast. We will definitely be back!
Carlie B — Google review
Wouldn’t honor the coupon! The guy at the drive through intercom said he didn’t know how to use just the letter coupon and the ones they do are numbered instead but then said they are a franchise so they can’t honor coupons. A very confusing order to say the least and I ended up paying full price for two frisco burgers that were just cold. The coupon came in my mailbox! I guess I don’t understand why Hardee’s sends them to all of these households but then doesn’t honor them at all. All I got has a very confusing excuse
Ronnie P — Google review
I provided a one star rating because every portion of the service was incorrect. The lady was horrible. The service was horrible. I asked for extra butter. They didn’t apply any butter. I asked for salt and pepper. They gave me no salt and pepper then minus one of my hashbrowns The biscuit taste like cardboard. They didn’t even feel half of my hashbrowns up on the ones they did give me so I really got shorted too. I asked for a Dr Pepper they gave me Diet Coke almost choked. The biscuit was so dry.
SGT L — Google review
Terrible service, a lot have decaffeinated coffee, mgr was real rude. Wouldn’t turn around and speak directly to us, had backed turn to us and said we don’t have it. Then young guy chimed in and repeated it. I felt like saying we heard your mgr first time… gets worse, wife’s bacon wasn’t crispy done like ordered, and when my father in law got to the table, there was a fly in his regular coffee. These were the rudest people I have encountered in a restaurant, in a long time . Every employee need to go through a customer experience training and improve… if the owner doesn’t do that they are failing their employees and the owner of the establishment!!! I also sent this to corporate!

The staff here is very aggravated it seems. The lady in the red shirt with glasses is VERY RUDE. Seems like she’s ruining everyone’s day here at Hardee’s I kinda feel bad for them. Other than that the food was good. One star for the lady in the red shirt.

The Southern Grind Coffee House at the WHARF

Coffee shop
Nestled in the vibrant Wharf area, The Southern Grind Coffee House is a delightful haven for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This cozy spot offers an array of breakfast delights, from hearty spinach and mushroom scrambles to delectable avocado egg melts. For lunch, indulge in their mouthwatering paninis or fresh salads tailored to meet various dietary preferences, including gluten-free and vegetarian options.
Went to this coffee shop awhile back on a girls trip in Orange Beach. The restaurant is connected to Hotel Indigo, but there is parking right outside of the coffee shop as well. If you are in the area and in search of a good breakfast/brunch spot…look no further. Breakfast menu has a wide selection and there’s enough there to choose from to satisfy the pickiest of eaters. We ate here almost every day for breakfast and each time, we were highly satisfied with the service and quality of food. They had so many delicious coffee drinks to choose from, and drink customizations included milk alternatives and decaf coffee as well. There are booths and tables inside, but outside dining is also available and it’s clean. Overall, the experience eating here was outstanding, and I will definitely be back when vacationing in the area again.

This is our first time checking out this place and what they were about. The staff was incredibly friendly and super helpful. I had the avocado toast with bacon and hot honey, it was delicious!!! My wife had the omelette with spinach and mushrooms. Incredibly good. The ambiance and environment Beverly chill and five with great outdoor seating. The coffee was stout and tasty. I'm a big fan and will be coming back for sure

We absolutely love this coffee house and are so glad they opened in the Wharf. Great options for drinks and lots of fun gifts to shop for while your drinks are being prepared.
Coach K — Google review
We had breakfast and coffee. Surprisingly Southern Grind has the best bacon I’ve ever had in my life. We also had lovely outdoor seating which accommodated us with our little dog. While we were there the police chief came by to say hello and pet our dog! The coffee was amazing and we bought some whole bean coffee to take home. It was an excellent experience. You can’t get more southern hospitality than this place.

This is a cute little coffee shop located within The Wharf. It was one of the only shops open on Saturday morning. They have a nice selection of coffee beverages and breakfast/dessert items.

Excellent service and food! Tje staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic. We love coming to the Wharf. This was our first time eating at Southern Grind, and I'm certain we will eat here again!

I absolutely loved this place, our family was vacationing nearby and came back for multiple visits! I love the decor and the cute boutique items, I even purchased a cute purse. The coffee is excellent! Lots of fun flavors including banana foster. Tried multiple gelato flavors which was also a huge hit with the family! Will def be back !

We were so impressed by Southern Grind's Coffee that we came back the next day for lunch! We are from the PNW and are coffee fanatics. It was refreshing to have some coffee/espresso that wasn't overpowering and tasted like it was made with love and still had coffee flavor. The lunch was reasonably priced and exactly what we were craving. Light and filling! The vibe was great and I think the items for sale within the store were super cute. I even got a little dolphin stuffed animal while getting our coffee!

Seafood restaurant
Wolf Bay Restaurant at Orange Beach is a bustling stop known for its local seafood, sandwiches, and salad bar. It's a long-running venture that offers the highest quality ingredients with a charming historic ambiance. The restaurant is hosting special culinary delights for Mother's Day Weekend, featuring dishes like Herb Crusted Prime Rib and Strawberry Shortcake Bushwacker to celebrate all mothers. With fresh seafood and local flavors served for generations, it's the perfect place to gather with loved ones and enjoy dishes like gumbo.
The service was top tier! The food was excellent! The Salad Bar is nothing like the restaurant in Foley but it's still very good. It just doesn't have the Broccoli Salad, Shrimp Salad and other extras or the Bacon. The meal we ordered was excellent. The food was delicious and seemed fresh. The Restaurant was extremely clean too. I highly recommend giving this location a visit. We each had the Small Mix with a Loaded Baked Potato and salad bar. The Small Mix is Oysters and Shrimp.
Lori J — Google review
Service and atmosphere are great. We sat on the covered patio. The salad bar is good. I would just watch your head for the overhead cover. No light, pretty dark to see what to grab. Lobster roll wasn't what my kiddo thought was mixed in with different things, and served open face on sub roll. Catfish and coconut shrimp were really good. Hubs had the platter. Kids pizza is a frozen pizza, food could use some more spices.

Our first time visiting Orange Beach,we tried two different seafood restaurants and the third seafood restaurant was Wolf Bay, the food was awesome,we liked it so much we came back the next day also. I have seen people post reviews about being expensive, if you are looking to spend under $30 for two people you need to go to Long John Silver or Captain D's fastfood...this is genuine good seafood and good seafood cost $$..1st day we spent $100 plus tip , 2nd day $80 + tip. The service was top notch👍..we had more food than we could finish. This will be our Seafood choice when we come to Orange beach. It was a great experience both times.

Wolf Bay is a Baldwin County restaurant rite of passage. I was a regular there with my family throughout the 80s and 90s, back when they served green beans with every meal. 🍤 Their Orange Beach location is on the faux water, a small lake on Perdido Beach Blvd, right across the Highway from the Gulf. Wolf Bay has made some nice upgrades to this establishment through the years. The outdoor seating area and bar has soft lighting with a view of the condos across the street. The inside is colored in soft blue tones with a salad bar parked across from an actual bar. Covid erased many salad bars from the restaurant landscape, but this one still has it going on. Just as great as ever- their salad dressings are wonderful. 🍤 There’s two stars of the show here. Star One is the fried food. I literally dream about their fried Gulf Shrimp, and it’s been fried the exact way probably since they opened the doors in ‘73. Star Two is the tartar sauce. The perfect compliment for any of their fried dishes, it has totally been the gold standard of sauces for me since I was 13-years-old. Still tastes amazing. The sweet potato fries were really nice on our most recent visit. And so was our server, Chris, who hustled around the restaurant while entertaining everyone with conversation. 🍤 Over dinner, we reminisced about how much my dad loved Wolf Bay. With a friend visiting the area who had moved away from Fairhope, they once drove 45 minutes one way to dine there five nights in a row. Great old memories and a fantastic meal in the Orange Beach location, this shrimp’s for you, Pop! Wolf Bay Lodge is just as excellent as it has been all these years. It’s most definitely a must do.

This was our second time going and we really enjoyed it. I’m not from around here so finding good places to eat at while here is always fun! We started out with the fried green tomato’s and they were delicious, however the cheese sauce served with them felt like cheesy soup. We’d recommend getting the sauce on the side! He got the pork chop dinner with mash potatoes and he really liked it. I did the pick two platter with the whitefish and coconut shrimp and it was really good. I got the parm truffle fries as my side and it was okay I probably wouldn’t get it again though. We wanted to try the Chocolate Buttercream Cake for dessert, but they were out which is okay!! (We understand) Overall, we had a great time and our server was amazing. I don’t remember her name, but she was very short and sweet and always had a smile on her face!! We recommend this place for sure!!
Juliana_banana — Google review
Clean, bright, fresh decor and quick, friendly service set the stage for a great meal! We enjoyed fresh oysters, salad bar and tasty entrees. The three of us all had something different--each was pleased with our choices. Service with Tayiah was fantastic! We did not feel rushed, but she hustled from table to table giving big smiles and great service. We will be back!
Joye H — Google review
Atmosphere and service were great. My wife LOVES the Shrimp and Grits - this is our second time to Wolf Bay (first to this location) and both times it was incredible. I had the Mahi sandwich but it was a little overdone and dry (tasted like chicken). I also had a bowl of gumbo - it was okay, but nothing to write home about.
Stephen — Google review
A pretty good restaurant. I visited for the first time this month while in town for work and vacation. I followed signs to the outside patio and waited for a hostess to seat me. I had to flag someone down to be seated, which wasn’t a good impression. I was finally seated and greeted by the server after a while. I wanted a drink from the menu that was no longer available, so that was a bummer. But the cha cha dip was very good. The crab stuff flounder was ok. The flounder is filled with bones, so fair warning. The truffle parmesan fries are simply delicious. The mac and cheese was good; just needed a little salt and pepper. The lemonade was gross. I don’t think the high prices match the quality of food and service and atmosphere. It’s more of a casual restaurant in my opinion, but because it’s near the beach that may be the reason. Some places are great for solo diners…this one isn’t so much in my experience. A couple who arrived just before me was assisted by a host. Whereas my service was average as I was ignored for a while until I was proactive in getting a table. Very nice view of the beach condos with great weather around dinner time in the offseason, if you’re eating outside. I loved that. For the view and scenery, I would go back…just with a guest because I might receive better service.
