Nestled on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Getty Villa is an architectural marvel inspired by a 1st-century Italian villa. This museum in Malibu, designed by Richard Meier, boasts classical architecture and serene gardens. It houses an impressive collection of Greek and Roman antiquities, including marble statues, mosaic floors, and Etruscan artwork. Visitors can explore replicas of ancient Roman architecture and admire artifacts such as frescoes from Pompeii and a bronze statue of an athlete.
This is a magnificent space and worth the trip. The gardens are beautiful and the exhibits are spectacular. It is said that there his is the most richly endowed museum in earth and it shows. It is immaculate and extraordinarily well maintained. It would be easy to spend hours upon hours exploring the artwork, artifacts, and the grounds. This is a can’t-miss experience.

This is my first time visiting this beautiful museum. I'm happy they protected the museum from the recent wild fire. The artifacts were in exceptional condition. I think next time I attend a group or semi private tour. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a place to relax outside and walk into the museum at your own leisure. It is so serene with the view of the Pacific Ocean in the background.

This place is unreal. The setting along PCH just east of Malibu close to the ocean is amazing. Went late September on a Thursday. Got there at 10 AM as they were opening and stayed a little over 1.5 hours. Parking was easy and $25. Admission is free so the overpriced parking didnt feel that bad. The museum is excellent and has lots of good Greek and Roman paintings, sculptures, and other artifacts. Had an Egyptian exhibit while I was there that was nice as well. But where this place shines IMO is in the building and the gardens. Impressive replica of an ancient Roman palace. So many details done right from the courtyards to the gardens to the galleries to the fountains. All amongst the back drop of the Pacific Ocean. Absolutely incredible. I didn't want to leave! Went to the Getty as well and thought this was even better, which speaks highly of this place. Was less crowded when I went compared to the Getty Center (went to both on same day).
Jimmer W — Google review
I first visited the Getty Villa back when it was called the J. Paul Getty Museum, during my freshman year of college. What struck me most was how it felt—like stepping into a wealthy person’s private home rather than a typical museum. The antiquities were displayed in this gorgeous villa setting with gardens and marble halls, all located on the Malibu cliffs. It had this eccentric quality that reflected J. Paul Getty’s personal vision and made ancient artifacts feel completely at home. Coming back decades later, I’m impressed by how they’ve improved the place while keeping that special atmosphere intact. The renovation back in the early 2000’s brought all the modern museum conveniences—better signage, clearer organization, smarter educational materials—without losing the villa’s charm. They’ve also made it more resilient against Malibu’s wildfire threats after the Palisades fire in early 2025. The best part is that it still has that quality where you feel like you’re actually in a different time, just with better amenities and a more thoughtful presentation. If you haven't been there since 2005, I would recommend you going back to see the differences and enjoy the fresh Malibu air. Bring others in your family to enjoy too.

The Getty Villa: An Ancient Roman Escape in Malibu The Getty Villa is arguably one of the most uniquely themed museums in the world. It is the perfect destination for anyone interested in Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities, but the main draw for many visitors is the stunning environment itself. Modeled after the ancient Roman Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum, the property transports you straight to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean. The Architectural Experience (5/5 Stars) The architecture is the undisputed star of the show. The sprawling villa features magnificent courtyards, stunning mosaics, frescoes, and reflective pools that perfectly capture the essence of a first-century Roman estate. Walking through the Outer Peristyle with its 300-foot-long pool, surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens and bronze statues, is an experience in pure escapism. It’s hard to remember you are just off the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. While some critics view the detailed recreation as leaning toward "theme park," the sheer beauty and atmospheric quality of the design are compelling. The architecture is a powerful educational tool that provides context for the art housed within. The Collection and Exhibits (4/5 Stars) The collection is specialized, focusing exclusively on ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art dating from 6,500 BC to AD 400. While the collection may not be as expansive as the world’s largest art institutions, its intimate focus allows for a deeper appreciation of the works. Highlights include beautiful black and red-figure vases, intricate jewelry, everyday household wares, and, most famously, a highly debated statue known as the Getty Kouros. The way the galleries are designed—often using natural light—allows the antiquities to be viewed beautifully, providing an immediate connection to the past. Gardens and Amenities The four distinct gardens—each styled after a different ancient Roman prototype—are delightful, offering tranquility and gorgeous photo opportunities. The Herb Garden is particularly fragrant and well-labeled. The museum is very visitor-friendly. General admission is always free (though a timed reservation is required), and the café offers reasonably priced and fresh food with a spectacular view of the amphitheater. The staff is knowledgeable and available for guided tours, which are highly recommended for understanding the context of the architecture and the art. Final Verdict The Getty Villa is more than a museum; it’s a beautifully realized piece of immersive architecture. It is an essential visit for anyone in the Los Angeles area, particularly those who appreciate ancient history, stunning views, and architectural grandeur. Plan to spend as much time outdoors enjoying the gardens and courtyards as you do inside the galleries. Tip: Book your free tickets well in advance, especially during peak season, and don't forget that parking requires a fee.
Shahrukh — Google review
Visiting the Getty Villa is like stepping into another era—the museum perfectly captures the elegance and grandeur of ancient Rome and Greece. Every gallery is a treasure trove of meticulously preserved artifacts, from intricate sculptures to everyday objects that bring the ancient world to life. The attention to detail in both the collections and the villa itself makes the experience immersive and unforgettable. Walking through the gardens, surrounded by classical architecture and stunning ocean views, adds another layer of awe. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply curious, the Getty Villa offers a journey through antiquity that feels both intimate and monumental. Truly one of the finest museums for experiencing the beauty and sophistication of ancient civilizations.
Theo A — Google review
The Getty Villa in Santa Monica is one of the better day-adventures we have done in the greater Los Angeles area. The cafe has good Mediterranean food at a decent price (yes, they have beer and wine, too), and the photo opportunities here were endless! If you dig ancient history, architecture, and relaxing environments, this is should be on your bucket list.
Robert ( — Google review
What a beautiful museum? This replica Villa is full of ancient history and beauty almost unimaginable. Thank you J.Paul Getty for sharing your treasures with those of us who could never dream to see them. I saw items from over 2-4 thousand years old!

Reel Inn Malibu is a beloved seafood gem that captures the spirit of casual dining along the Pacific Coast Highway. This charming fish shack, with its iconic neon sign, has a rich and colorful history filled with intriguing tales from past owners and events. Despite facing challenges like name changes and even a fire in 1978, it continues to thrive as a go-to spot for fresh fish plates, salads, and fried seafood served in an inviting roadhouse style.
It's been a while, but the memory of this place remains indelible. For me, who am Italian, it is always interesting to eat something different. Very very abundant portions, I find the fish very fresh and good, you can taste the sea, the prices are in relation to the area, dreamy, those that we dream of in the movies. But I find for my taste many, too many flavors in the mouth, a good mix yes but nothing special. For example, I find the salad typical here, full of dressing sauces. A little greasy for me,but I would gladly go back there, every now and then it's also nice to eat like this. See you soon friends

After exploring the Getty Museum, we were in the mood for some seafood. Our aunt took us here and I’m happy she did! The oysters were really good, the fries and fried potatoes were delicious and the fish was cooked well. The fried shrimp was amazing. The veggies were a little undercooked but they were still tasty. Great place to stop and eat at!
Sarah D — Google review
Great atmosphere, great service. Food was okay for me but possibly because of what I ordered. I got fish tacos, calamari and clam chowder to-go. The fish they use is whatever they have for that day, could be salmon could be cod could be mixed(what i was told). It wasn’t bad but the fish used didn’t suit the taco and its coleslaw side. Overall it felt very bland. Calamari - good and crispy when fresh. Not overcooked but standard med. battered thickness. Tasted fine day after as leftover but nothing spectacular. Clam chowder - my fave of the 3, good standard clam chowder with pieces of potatoes and clam.

MALIBU GEM- stopped by the Reel Inn for the first time. We thought it was delicious, staff was friendly, portions were great, and rather affordable! We had the Scallop and Mahi Mahi entrees, and split the steamed clams. The tartar sauce was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.

Great atmosphere, right across the street from the beach. They allow dogs on the lower patio which is a great thing!! Feels like an old time beachside restaurant. Fried zucchini was excellent, great coating, very crisp and crunchy. The zucchini was not overcooked, it was crisp, not soggy. Scollops were excellent, great flavor, shrimp was ok, a little overcooked and lacked seasoning. Cajun Rice very good, great seasoning and flavor. Cole Slaw not really to my liking, to chunky, lacked flavor. Definitely a place worth checking out.

This is definitely a place to go if you want a home cooked delicious seafood meal without paying an arm and a leg. You choose your fish, seasoning and sides give them your name and wait to be called. Our group had four different fishes and each one was delicious!!! There is tons of seating both inside and out. It’s right on the Pacific Coast Highway but not on the water. You can go to a fancier restaurant with an ocean view, but the food won’t be better. The next time I’m in Malibu I’ll eat here again.

Driving down from Solvang to LA, made it a point to stop by Duke’s seafood or Malibu’s seafood, but then things took an interesting turn when I found another gem. Reel Inn which seems to be frequent by locals. They may not have the best view (just across if you want to see the coast) The food look amazing when we enter the place, free and easy, choose your own seat and head to the counter to order and pick up yourself once they call your name. We ordered their crab cake appetizer which comes with 2 sides. Monkfish with eggs in Cajun style was fantastic, highlight of the meal, the spice gave enough kick to get you to finish the entire dish, the rice was chewy and goes so well, there is some smoky flavours to it which must have come from the Cajun marinade. Fish was fresh and meaty, love it. Goes with their really fresh coleslaw, perfect meal. We ordered both soups available, fish chowder is minestrone on steroid with chunks of vegs and chunks of fish. New English clam chowder has huge pieces of clam inside, gives lots of bites in every spoonful. Crab cakes was zero potato & 99% crab meat in there, mash potato was perfectly done just as we expect in US, and goes well with the steamed veges. Drizzle some hot sauce on it, yummmz On the lighter side, we ordered an Ahi Salad too, what was really great was the generous amount of ahi ahi fish and the dressing had a hint of wasabi soya inside, another winner here. Fish tacos was ok for us, could be because we were so engrossed with the meal that it was left cold so we didn’t really have it at its prime lol Overall a wonderful lunch as a pit stop to have some great seafood.

Quality of food is excellent. Never had anything there I didn't like. Crab cakes are all crab with little breading on the inside. Fresh and reasonably priced. Fried fish was perfectly fried. Not greasy. The calamari steak is excellent. Way better than Neptune's

Duke's Malibu is a popular spot known for its Hawaiian cuisine and scenic ocean views. Named after Duke Kahanamoku, the legendary surfer and Olympic gold medalist, this restaurant offers upscale American comfort food with a Hawaiian twist. The Sunday brunch buffet is particularly noteworthy, featuring dishes like coconut French toast, tuna poke, and Hawaiian-style ceviche. With its prime location on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Duke's Malibu provides an unforgettable dining experience.
Best calamari in California, in my opinion. Highly recommend it as an appetizer. Unlike the outdoor seating at other restaurants, this one implemented social distancing, had no flies or anything, and an amazing view of the coast of Malibu.

Go here for Great views, friendly service and delicious food. We got there before it opened and there were at least 20 people waiting… a good sign. The food and drinks were amazing and the flavors were perfectly paired and at the appropriate intensity. I had the steak & fries and my date had the mango bbq burger. Both were cooked perfectly and came out hot and fresh. Must visit again to try their Volcano frozen cocktail.

I loved this place especially the location it was by the beach side. We enjoyed the ocean view with the splashing waves with the awesome food. The macaroni was very delicious and the drinks were great. The fish tacos were really nice. The service was amazing and we would highly recommend this place as they have a pretty good menu options.

Service and view were phenomenal. Very friendly and accommodating. Wonderful overall experience. We rated the food 4/5 because we felt the sauce on the steak was too mild but the steak was great. Wish there were more asparagus stalks with it. Fish and chips were good but have had tastier fries. Pie was yummy - but tasted like typical ice cream pie (tasted more like vanilla ice cream than macadamia nut). Hummus plate was very good. Parking is valet ($12 on day we went), but there is also free street parking.
Natalya B — Google review
Had an amazing experience, from the welcome, to the atmosphere, the food and especially some timely departure advice due to PCH closure. The hostess took a genuine interest in us and the special occasion that we were celebrating. She took multiple pics of us without us even having to ask (when does this ever happen these days?). The food was great, beer was cold and crisp and the key lime pie was divine. Definitely on our list to revisit and reco to friends.
Tom L — Google review
My wife and I decided to take a day off of work and go to the beach so we took full advantage of the opportunity and away we go. We went to the beach for a few hours and then we planned on coming to Dukes in Malibu for lunch date and the view of the ocean which was so beautiful. I got the prime sirloin steak and fries with a side salad and it was really delicious. The server was really nice and accommodating. As you could see in the pictures, there's plenty of seating inside the restaurant and they have an attached party space for large groups of people who wanna rent out the space. The ambience at Dukes is very chill and relaxing with a view of the ocean. I mean how can it get better than that? There is no street parking as far as I can tell and only a valet parking lot in front of the restaurant that was the only downside of Dukes. I would definitely recommend Dukes for anybody who's in Malibu and wants to have a good lunch or dinner with the view of the ocean. Amen and yes please.

Fun little spot with locations across California and Hawaii. Really nicely done Hawaiian vibe with decent food. Enjoyed the ocean view and lively atmosphere. The chicken tenders were crunchily breaded, but the fries were a little soggy. Probably the biggest downside of the visit. Our waitress (Carmin) was very attentive and kind. The Hula pie was creamy and delicious. Definitely worth trying. Keep up the good work, Duke’s!

Nobu Malibu, a beachfront restaurant by Iron Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, offers a fusion of Japanese delicacies and California cuisine in a modern setting. The minimalist design with Pacific Ocean views creates an ambiance perfect for enjoying new-school sushi and celebrity-spotting. Despite the high prices, the menu delivers on flavor with dishes like creamy uni tacos and yellowtail jalapeno sashimi.
Lunch with a view! Every dish was beautifully executed—flavourful, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully plated. The sauces and spices added depth without overpowering the natural flavour and freshness of the fish. Portions are on the smaller side, so you’ll likely need several dishes to feel full. Guests can easily spend $100+ per person, without drinks. Worth it for the quality and experience, but good to know in advance.

Good food and great views. Service started out very well but once they got more busy, they kind of just forgot about us. Took a long time for dessert menus and after not coming back for our orders, we ended up skipping that and just settling the bill. It's a very pricey restaurant so I expected better than that.

Love Nobu Malibu! Of everything - you have to get the scallop truffle chips. The views are just impeccable, service is amazing, and quality is delicious. We tried the Nobu Signature Menu this time which came with 8 courses (4 cold and 4 hot). It was nice to give a taste into the restaurant.

First of all I didn’t know Nobu was a Japanese Peruvian fusion which made the whole experience even more interesting. We did the omakase and it was amazing. I loved the tiradito the wagyu nigiri the filet mignon and honestly almost everything. The drinks were also really good and at that price point that’s the least I expect. Overall it’s a once in a lifetime experience and I would say it’s worth it because the whole vibe there is just perfect

Review: Nobu Malibu – A Scenic Spot for a Sweet Celebration We visited Nobu Malibu to celebrate our anniversary with something simple—just tea and cake—and the experience was unforgettable. The oceanfront setting is truly magical. Even for a light visit like ours, the atmosphere made it feel incredibly special. The service was warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. The staff made us feel welcome, even though we weren’t there for a full meal. We were seated right by the window, with a breathtaking view of the waves crashing against the rocks. It felt peaceful and romantic. We ordered hot tea, which was served beautifully, and a dessert to share. The cake was delicate and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness and presentation. Even this small treat felt elevated—typical of Nobu’s reputation for detail and quality. Overall, Nobu Malibu is more than just a dining destination—it’s an experience. Whether you go for a full dinner or something as simple as tea and dessert like we did, the setting and service make it feel truly special. It was a lovely way to mark our anniversary, and we’ll definitely be back.

Nobu Matsuhisa… you did it again! This is by far my favorite location of this restaurant. The beach is gorgeous and the atmosphere of the place is out of this world. Of course it is expensive but this is a go to place when you need to celebrate something! I will say though that they do not give free desert on your birthday!

Place was amazing beautiful. This review is my opinion so don’t compare this to your visit. We went here for lunch and were aware of the concept and the pricing. When we came in the front entrance we had to walk around for 2 minutes before being greeted although we came across multiple servers/ employees When we were seated we were handed the menu and we made our choices before the food came it took some time but it was really good and nice. Overal my experience was alright why the 2 stars?? They say hospitality is one big theater and I agree but this was a REALLY bad one they were too friendly it seemed fake, putting up high voices and exaggerating as a woman in from my experience you are only welcome here if you are very popular or if you order a wine that’s worth 400+ dollars. In my opinion if it needs to be like that it’s not real hospitality. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and if you are curious about me I review a lot of other places

Malibu Farm Pier Cafe is a charming breakfast and lunch spot located at the end of Malibu's iconic pier, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The cafe boasts a rustic yet dreamy coastal ambiance, making it an ideal setting for a refreshing meal or drinks.

They are fully present and committed to offering the best possible service. - I’m looking forward to returning and bringing others with me

For tourists or locals a great place to spend time. Attentive service, fantastic food and the best views anywhere. I went on a Monday at about 11a and it was no wait even with a large party of 9. I imagine the weekends to be quite backed when the weather is good. Street parking or paid parking.

Me and GF decided to try this place at the Malibu beach pier. They were understaffed and some in training(waiter wise) but all waiters still were friendly and polite. Food was delicious and warm, we had the chicken, steak and salmon options. Jade, was our server and he did fantastic. My only complaint is, I order a flight of beer but, they did not fill my glasses at least to the top for the price. But overall noce view of the ocean and good food, but pricey.

We found this place by chance while driving from Los Angeles — and it turned out to be an iconic spot for brunch! 🥞☕️ Parking is easy — there’s a paid lot nearby ($15 per hour). Just keep in mind that this place is always busy, so expect about a 30-minute wait. On sunny days, I’d recommend avoiding the outdoor seating — the sun gets really strong and you might end up sunburned. 🌞 We ordered the lobster burrito and the crab burger — both were absolutely divine! 🦞🍔 The seafood was fresh and flavorful, the portions generous, and the dishes surprisingly healthy — everything came with either salad or baby potatoes, no greasy sauces or heavy sides. The lemonade was fantastic, though the cappuccino could have been better. The staff was polite, though a few waiters came across as a bit aloof — probably because the place is always packed. Overall, we loved everything about it and would definitely come back again!

Yesterday, I went again, but this time I wanted to sit down and have coffee with the beautiful view they have. I went to their coffee and gelato shop, which is different from the restaurant, but still the same people. I was so happy that two hours that I spent there not just because I had a wonderful coffee with the great view, but because these three people were so nice with me. The Argentinian girl was super helpful for explaining to me how it works because I wanted to sit down and have coffee instead of going to the restaurant upstairs so she explained how it works and she was super nice. Then the barista who is from Spain, was extremely nice and made my coffee exactly the way I wanted it with a huge smile on his face. The other guy helped me out and choose the best table so I can charge my phone. The three of them made me feel so good I didn’t want to leave! And I cannot wait to go back again. See you soon guys, see you soon San Diego!

Absolutely loved my experience at Malibu Farm Pier Café!The location alone is breathtaking, sitting right on the pier with the ocean literally beneath your feet makes it feel like a little piece of paradise. The vibe is relaxed, coastal, and effortlessly chic, perfect for brunch or sunset drinks. The food was so fresh and flavorful, you can really taste the farm-to-table quality. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the view… honestly, no words, it’s the kind of place that makes you stop and just take it all in. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, stunning views, and that perfect Malibu atmosphere.

I ordered the peach smoothie. The atmosphere and view were both amazing, but the drink itself was a bit disappointing. It’s still a nice spot to relax and enjoy the ocean view.

The Cafe At The Getty Villa offers a casual dining experience with both indoor and outdoor seating, serving locally sourced Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Visitors can enjoy a variety of options such as salads, pizzas, wraps, and burgers. While some find the portions to be adequate, others feel that they could be more generous with certain ingredients. The food is described as light-flavored but enjoyable. The cafe provides a relaxing setting with a nice view and friendly service.
The cashier was great describing some questions we had regarding menu items. Very nice and friendly service. Great choices to choose from. We had the pita and hummus. The hummus was simple and delicious. The corn pure type of soup was also yummy!

The cafe was another of the highlights of the visit to the villa. We had the antipasto platter which was perfect as a snack after the visit. But all the food looked great. They offer free water from a container but also offer sodas, beer, and wine. It's an awesome setting and food was fast. Great place!

Our lunch was tasty and healthy! We ordered a salad (ricotta, pistachios and artichoke), a margherita pizza and a chicken wrap. Portions were alright, but could have been more generous with the cheese on the pizza and the chicken inside the wrap. Some might find the food to be light-flavoured, but it was alright for us. Prices are alright, about the same as any other cafe in LA.

The beet salad was really good. A a little pricey for what it is but it is at the museum.

Surprisingly good food here. Order at the counter and they will bring out the food to your table. Portion were good, price is very reasonable. Four of us shared two dishes and we were satisfied. The dessert is pretty and tasty. Very nice place to grab a bit after all the walking inside the villa.

Attempted to book their tea service which I later found out that it has to be reserved months in advance. With out of towner’s luck there was a cancelation and scored a table. It was an all thumbs (and pinkies) up! Starting with the chief waiter Jonathan who imbued the proceedings with humor and clever repartee. The serene surroundings, peaceful views and quiet atmosphere with ample room (a toddler and her nanny made a few laps around the room, delighting all of us humans and a well behaved, huge rotweiler) . Their signature black tea with lavender was a perfect accompaniment to their offerings. Perhaps a little more contrast in flavor between the sandwiches would be my only suggestion (perhaps smoked salmon in liey of the roast beef). But for the money, presentation and overall experience this place was far superior than the Connaught hotel in London and Tiffany’s Blue Room in NYC. Bravo to the staff and management in charge.

Visited both Getty Villa and Getty Center. Had a very nice lunch at the Getty Villa Cafe. Ordered the burger with bacon and humus (fresh but under seasoned). The bacon was the killer (sweet and thick) and made the burger great. The cafe has a very nice view and relax setting. Definitely recommend to have a relaxing lunch here.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a well-known fast-food chain that offers classic American burgers and fries. It is conveniently located near the Public Beach Access Point, making it easily accessible for visitors. The restaurant provides a quick and efficient service with courteous staff members. While some customers have noted occasional issues with the food sizes, others appreciate the consistently fresh French fries and friendly employees. Despite mixed reviews on service quality, many patrons find McDonald's to be a convenient and enjoyable dining option.
So nice to be able to see the ocean while having lunch. Our lunch was brought to our table quickly. The gentleman who served us was friendly and made us laugh.

happy to have found this spot on our random stroll towards malibu, and we were unfortunately met with the manager. his face screamed, no, screeched, no, VOCIFERATED that he did not want to be here at all. a baby ina stroller walking by this mcdonalds would take a glance and immediately understand his distaste working here, probably. not that i care too much about a mcdonald's employee's interaction in taking an order at nearly 11pm, but it was very notable. anyways, we ordered two mini mcflurries, and it looked like it exploded or something. it doesn't take away from the taste, which was stellar, but it was pretty messy to eat. one of a kind mcdonalds.

Unfortunately when I decide to eat here… the facilities were too dirty, the staff is very limited and working hard during the morning, and during the night, the staff is absent in the dining area. Definitely the service it’s not a priority, but they can improve, with a better supervision and motivation.

Best Fish Filet and the Soda was nice and Cold. The French Fries were perfect 👌 hot and kind of salty just how I like them. They gave plenty of napkins and ketchup packets. The Staff was very courteous and very fast with my order. I went inside and ordered. You cannot eat inside and you cannot sit down anywhere inside. The Bathrooms were available and were super clean. Important as there are very few bathrooms available on the miles and many miles along the Malibu Beach Coastline in Los Angeles in California. This particular McDonald's is located on Pacific Coast Highway 1 in Malibu and is right across the street from the Famous "NOBU" RESTAURANT!!!!! The Employees at this McDonald's were wearing masks and gloves and constantly cleaning and wiping down and sanitizing everything inside and out of the McDonald's!!!!!

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Tra Di Noi is a rustic Italian restaurant with a casual family-friendly atmosphere that specializes in authentic Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. The menu spans from soup to pasta dishes to pizza, and there's also a range of gourmet cocktails on offer.
We went here craving some Italian food after a few hours on Malibu beach. Service was good, it had a nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious. We got the pomodore spaghetti and prosciutto pizza. They took a while to bring out, and the portions were extremely small for the price, but we cannot deny they tasted delicious. Don’t confuse this restaurant with the express take out which was about $20 cheaper. The express closes at 4pm. We wanted some cheap Italian food but got a table and was forced to spend $40+ each on food. We would still recommend the place for the delicious food, but be mindful of the prices and what time it is.
Aliza B — Google review
This place is a must-visit! The pizza was simply amazing – crispy, fresh, and perfectly topped. And the pasta was pure perfection, cooked just right with incredible flavors. The only tiny hiccup was the Aperol Spritz, which tasted quite different from the traditional Italian ones we've had. But honestly, it was a minor detail in an otherwise superb meal. The staff were incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly, making the whole experience delightful.

Sometimes Malibu surprises you in the best way. I was in a rush for a business meeting, parked nearby, and needed something quick but good. That’s when I stumbled across Tra di Noi Express — and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The setup here is casual but stylish: outdoor seating under big green umbrellas, surrounded by trees and a light soundtrack that makes the whole patio feel relaxed. Even though I was short on time, the vibe instantly slowed me down a little — Malibu has that magic. I ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce. They came out hot, steaming, and full of that homemade flavor you want when you grab Italian. For a fast-order spot, it’s impressive how fresh and satisfying the food feels. The portion was plenty for lunch, and at about $19, it matched Malibu pricing but didn’t feel over the top. Service was straightforward and quick, exactly what I needed in that moment. No fuss, no wait — just good food, good setting, and back on the move. If you’ve got time, it’s the kind of place where you could sit under the umbrellas with a glass of wine and let the afternoon pass slowly. But even for someone on the go, it works perfectly. 5 stars for convenience, taste, and that Malibu outdoor charm. I’ll be back when I actually have time to linger.

This was the BEST chicken I've EVER had... AFTER I took it home, added Italian herbs and Kasmirhi peppers and slow-cooked it for 2 hrs. Otherwise the food here was what you would expect at a university faculty cafeteria- just slightly better than the student food. While browsing the menu, we overheard the table next to us ask about the veal. The waiter made a cartoonish chewing motion and said, “can be kinda chewy, to be honest,” so they asked about the sole. He responded with a slow-motion shrug, like a man who’d seen things and couldn’t unsee them, signaling it wasn't worth the $68. We thought, "Okay, let’s go rich and slow-cooked. Lamb shank! You can’t screw up lamb shank!" Oh but I guess you can. It somehow managed to feel dry, flat, with an over-the-counter tomato sauce pasted onto it like emergency varnish applied to a row boat. We don't waste food, so we ate it. That’s when it hit me: this wasn’t an Italian restaurant. This was the "idea" of an Italian restaurant. No Italians in sight. Just waiters in pressed white shirts and bowties, hypnotizing us into believing the food was better than it was. On the drive home, we tried to figure out how a place like this survives in Malibu. Lack of competition? Rent controlled by some ancient coastal curse? We may never know. Somehow we got to $175 after tip and with no drinks. At least I rescued the chicken.

At Tra di Noi, we truly feel at home. Luigi and his team are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The food is fabulous—it feels like you are dining in Italy, or even better, at home. The atmosphere is excellent, and Malibu Country Mart is a wonderful place to spend time with family. We have been enjoying meals at Tra di Noi for the past 17 years, and we absolutely love it!

Breakfast restaurant
Located in the northernmost part of Malibu near Point Dume, Paradise Cove Beach Café offers a unique dining experience right on the beach. The café features an enclosed and airy setting with some tables directly on the sand, allowing guests to enjoy their meal while soaking up the sun and ocean views. With funky beach-inspired booths and large windows overlooking Paradise Cove Beach, visitors can savor American fare and tropical drinks while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
This place is surprisingly good for a touristy beach restaurant. The menu is chaotic. Huge fonts, bright colors, looks like a chain letter email you forward to avoid 7 years of bad luck. However, the portions are HUGE. And the food was great! We sat outside in the sand and listened to the big waves crashing on the shore. The service was good. The food was tasty. Not crazy busy at lunch time but I can imagine this place turns up at night. Highly recommend! Also! Make sure to validate your parking ticket or you’ll have to pay the beach parking rate!

We love coming here to hang out for a few hours by the ocean. The food is always good without ever being brilliant but the scenery is surely what anyone comes for (and the cocktails!) . The staff are lovely and really accommodating - especially at quieter times of the day / week and we will definitely be back again soon.
Andrew E — Google review
Wow…just wow! This is a gem of a place! Across the board it was a 10/10 (with the exception of having to pay $10 for parking). The drinks were fun and themed, the food was incredible, and the view is unbeatable. We got a piña colada and an original mojito. And the ahi tuna and tacos (the grilled fish and carnitas were the best of my three). If you’re uncomfortable with birds at your feet, maybe sit inside. But I just loved kicking my shoes off and having my feet in the sand. I would definitely go back!
Brooke B — Google review
Quick warning: They use pasta straws for their drinks, so be aware if you have an allergy. If you let waitstaff know, they can generally accommodate your dietary restrictions. We had a fairly large group, but Paradise Cove was able to accommodate us no problem. Food was amazing (it is on the spendy side, so I'd say it's more for special occasions). I had the jumbo shrimp scampi while other family members had the shrimp tacos, clam chowder, and seafood linguine. We also ordered a few desserts including the giant piece of chocolate cake that fed over 10 people (we still had leftovers, but one of the best chocolate cakes ever). They had us outside in booths where you step right into sand upon leaving the table if you can imagine. The view from our table was incredible and it was just a short walk away from the beach. Everyone enjoyed the food and view so much, many already have plans to go back there at some point. We will be coming back here for sure for more family celebrations. One thing I wish would be addressed is the design of the menu. The design for the menu is so busy that we all had trouble figuring out where to look between all the color changes and extreme use of bolding. The place itself is relaxing, but the menu design doesn't quite reflect that so I would suggest a change in menu design.

Beautiful Bay View & Great Cocktails This place has a fantastic location with stunning views over the bay. The food and cocktails are excellent, and the interior is full of historic photos that give the place real character. Service is friendly and quick. Just one tip — the seagulls sitting on the umbrellas can get a bit too interested in the seafood dishes (we saw it happen at a few nearby tables), so maybe choose wisely when ordering!
Manuela ( — Google review
If you’re new to Malibu, this is a great place to visit! It was my husband’s birthday and I wanted to surprise him. I’m so glad I picked this place, they had really cute & fruity drinks. The food was also great - I like how there are different options. They also brought out a complimentary birthday cake for my husband with a candle which was adorable. This place overall was so relaxing and romantic.
Juliera T — Google review
Paradise Cove Café — where Malibu’s past and your calorie count collide in glorious harmony. This spot isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a Hollywood veteran. Beach Boys sang here, movie stars filmed here, and I’m pretty sure half of California’s postcards were shot from this exact deck. You come for the history, stay for the cocktails, and leave questioning your life choices after finishing a portion big enough to feed a surf team. Yes, it’s a bit pricey — but so is everything that comes with a side of private beach and Pacific Ocean pop-culture nostalgia. Pro tip: grab a margarita (or michelada), dig your toes in the sand, and pretend you’re in a 1960s music video. Everyone else here is doing the same

Bought my mom here for mother's day and we had an okay experience over all. There is always room for improvement. We had a reservation at 7:30pm for mother's day dinner. Checked in at 7:25pm, got to out seats at 8:05pm. I would suggest the establishment, manager, and the owner would update or fix their reservation system. For first timers, I already expected that this place would be busy just by reading the reviews and turn around times. I would suggest visiting their website and go through the menu ahead of time. It may not be the full menu but at least you will be ready to know your main course. They serve drink and dessert menu at the restaurant. We ordered the Paella Paradise, Crispy Calamari, drinks , and bread pudding for dessert. They run out of the ribs that comes with the paella so they suggested to add more on the dish on its behalf but as we got the paella, for $125, it's a pretty decent dish. It only got 2 pcs of chicken but I believe they added more on the seafood side. But I don't think it justified the price. The bread pudding was good, did not expect the white chocolate in the pudding but it was good. The only thing that did not sit well with me is the table/s could have been wiped or cleaned thoroughly in between guests and staff would not use the term "did not expect to be this busy or packed". As a well- known establishment, it should be expected especially on weekends and/or on a special days.

Geoffrey's is a renowned Californian restaurant that has been a favorite spot for special occasions since 1948. Once frequented by Old Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe, this elegant establishment offers sweeping views of the Pacific from its outdoor terrace and sophisticated indoor dining room. The restaurant, originally designed by architect Richard Neutra, has evolved into a modern chic destination with an emphasis on seafood dishes crafted by Executive Chef Bijan Shokatfard.
Great food! Great views! Excellent friendly service from the valet, the host, and the server! The Baked Brie Appetizer was so good. The Scotch Benedict with salmon was nicely served on top of a very soft croissant. The potatoes were perfectly cooked. The fruits were so sweet. Easy access to the beach via a short staircase down.

My boyfriend took me here for a birthday brunch & we were both so happy with our experience. Staff were very attentive & helpful. The food was a little overpriced but it was very delicious and the overall experience made it worth it. The drinks recommended to us by our waitress also paired so well with our food! Not much of a drinker but I gladly had a second glass. Not to mention, brunch with a view was icing on top. We were also able to walk down to see the hidden beach tucked away down the steps after a lovely time at the restaurant!

James was our server and he made our special evening much more personable. We have been to a lot of fine dining experiences but this one was just memorable. Everything was perfect to our standards. The seating, food, ambiance, view and most of all the service was spot on. If we had got there earlier we could have walk down to see the beach access. Definitely RECOMMENDED👍🏼and will comeback soon.

One of the nicest spots for a restaurant along the coast with views from almost every table. Had a very nice late lunch..The food was good and the being right on the ocean is terrific. The place itself is a bit dated, but still nice. Highly recommend the lobster cobb, which has a pound of lobster- much more than most lobster cobbs. The Asian chicken salad was also good. They have a nice selection of white wines by the glass. They would not seat me while my husband was parking, which was bit annoying because their parking was backed up, which does happen there when they are busy. Hasn’t been for a while and was defiantly a good choice.

Dining at Geoffrey’s was an exceptional experience. The wagyu steak was executed flawlessly, accompanied by perfectly smooth and flavorful mashed potatoes. Each cocktail was thoughtfully crafted — balanced, refined, and truly delightful. The service was impeccable; the staff was gracious, attentive, and ensured every detail was taken care of with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere was both sophisticated and intimate, creating a setting that felt both welcoming and special. While the parking area is limited and somewhat difficult to access, the availability of valet service adds ease and convenience. This minor detail does little to detract from what was otherwise a remarkable evening. Geoffrey’s is a true culinary gem, and I look forward to returning when I visit Malibu again.

Free parking can be hard to find. The only option for free parking is on the street, and you’ll likely need to arrive outside of peak hours to secure a spot. The beach itself is clean, less crowded, and generally peaceful—especially compared to Santa Monica. Public restrooms are available, but there are no public washing areas. Be prepared to share the beach with plenty of seagulls, which are a common sight here.

We spent Father’s Day at Zuma Beach with friends, and it couldn’t have been better. Clean sand, beautiful views, and plenty of space to spread out even on a busy day. The water was perfect for wading and boogie boarding, and the lifeguards were super attentive. Parking was easy and close to the sand, which made hauling gear and coolers a breeze. Just an all-around perfect SoCal beach day. Highly recommend Zuma for families, friend groups, or anyone looking to enjoy the coast.

After many years in California, Zuma Beach still tops my son and I list of favorite surf spots — best enjoyed off-peak, of course: Monday to Friday, outside holidays, and early mornings before the crowds wake up. This is Malibu at its purest — long golden stretches of sand, clean waves, and that endless Pacific view that makes weekday emails feel like a bad dream. Surf’s great midweek when it’s mostly locals and dolphins sharing the lineup. Yes, it’s definitely not rare to surf among dolphins, great and unforgettable experience that you never get bored of. Weekends? A bit of a scene — come early or embrace the parking safari. Personally I avoid it as much as I can, if I can. Pro tip: pack snacks, wax up, and stick around long enough to watch the sun turn the whole beach into liquid gold

This was one of my favorite beaches in LA. It's quieter and you can always find a parking space. It is a bit of drive on the weekend but worth it. On the weekends you have to pay for parking. But on the week nights it is free. There are restrooms there, not always clean but are there. So grab your favorite beach attire and have quiet cozy day at the beach.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Malibu, Spruzzo Restaurant & Bar is a delightful Italian eatery that beckons food lovers with its mouthwatering offerings. Known for its exceptional wood-fired pizzas crafted in true Italian style, the menu features everything from classic Napoletanas to unique creations like Thai chicken. Complement your meal with gourmet salads, hearty sandwiches, or tempting appetizers such as fried calamari and grilled artichokes.
It's a pity that they stopped serving the very tasty dish - sole. The main course is served with very tasty bread. Always a great atmosphere and delicious food!

Spruzzo has a prime Malibu location and a nice outdoor space, but that’s where the compliments end. Inside, it feels more like a diner—minus the charm, plus the prices. We started with the grilled artichoke, which, as an artichoke lover, I can confidently say was the worst I’ve ever had. It wasn’t actually grilled—just boiled, then briefly introduced to the grill for some decorative char marks. As if that wasn’t bad enough, it was drowned in balsamic vinegar, completely wiping out any actual artichoke flavor. A tragedy on a plate. Then came the skirt steak with beans and carrots—because nothing says “Italian coastal cuisine” like a hospital meal. And the lobster ravioli? A true paradox: somehow both boiling hot and undercooked, with raw flour inside like a failed science experiment. It was also utterly flavorless—if there was lobster in there, it must have made a run for it. This place could be incredible with a new chef and an interior designer, but for now, we’ll be eating elsewhere.

This place absolutely deserves the spotlight. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, you can choose where to sit, clean, and clearly run by people who care about the experience as much as the food. And the pizza: The crust was that ideal balance, crispy on the outside, airy and chewy inside. The sauce had depth, not just tomato paste but a rich. And the toppings was fresh and generous. I tried the BBQ chicken and it was really good. You can upgrade the size for few bucks more, which I strongly recommend it. Smaller size is okay for 2 people to not be hungry, but not enough get really full. I recommend sitting inside as the chair is nicer and less street noise, but the balcon can be okay if you are okay with the street noise. Also staff and view was nice, overall great choice in the area, if you are visiting the are or beach it definitely worth the few minutes drive to get here.

We've been patronizing this restaurant for over 14 years. We started picking up salmon dinners for take-out over the past 3 - 4 years and they always hit the spot! Because of a dietary restriction, I recently ordered mine with no added salt and the chef cooked up some of the most deliciously seasoned vegetables I've ever had to compliment my salmon and mashed potatoes. They also serve great steaks and pizzas. So much good food with great portion sizes!

Amazing spot! The burrata blew me away — creamy, fresh, with farm-fresh tomatoes. The carbonara and mushroom truffle pizza (on cauliflower crust) were delicious. Our server Anton was incredibly attentive and made the whole experience perfect. Highly recommend!

We ordered lentil soup, ravioli and meatballs. All dishes are very well delivered. Their espresso is also good. I don’t know what water they serve but it’s definitely high quality water as well.

Stopped by here for some afternoon drinks and a light snack. TLDR: Good location as parking is super easy (non peak hours) and if you want to grab ONLY some drinks i'd recommend it! if you want food - go anywhere else! Good spacious area - both indoor and outdoor! The outdoor has a partial view (one side are the hills, and the other blocked by some dense forrest). Drinks were fine for standard wines, cocktails, beers. The wait staff all just seemed stressed and unhappy to be there! All but one waiter and the hostess seemed to be genuinely friendly but others just couldn't wait for their days to end! Food - we did end up getting a salad and a pizza.. overall i'd pass on the food! To be honest, it's pretty hard to screw up a salad and pizza - the salad (Meditereanean) was soggy and just so-so; but the worst was the Pizza (Four Season) - absolutely no flavor, dry! You could buy some dough from Trader Joe's and make it half decent but dreadful how bad it was. Reminded me of the elemetary obligatory preset weekly menus - friday pizza!

Not impressed. Traveling through and wanted a casual decent meal near the beach. Service was terrible. People standing around yet could hardly get anyone to take our order or notice we were done. Food was not good. Tuna was overcooked and had some type of balsamic drizzle that just didn't work. My wife had a chopped salad absolutely swimming in dressing. Seems like it could be a great spot with a nice patio view. But service and food will limit their potential.

Italian restaurant
Gravina Malibu is an intimate, family-owned and managed Italian eatery that serves up delicious pasta dishes, wood-fired pizzas, and prime beef and veal dishes. The menu has a variety of casual Italian wines and top-shelf spirits for libations, as well as decadent desserts to finish things off. The restaurant is open for dinner seven nights per week and the staff are attentive and welcoming from the moment you walk in.

this restaurant should not be 4.3. I’m from nyc visiting. food was absolutely unbelievable!! beet salad, chicken parm, and tiramisu was out of this world. highly recommend.

My wife and I came here on a date by mistake. We originally were going to Pacific Cove but it was closed so we found this place nearby. We didn’t want to drive too far since we hadn’t eaten anything so we settled on Gravina. The waiters were decent. We ordered the sparkling water $8, Calamari, my wife had the pepperoni pizza, I had the Lobster Ravioli. From the beginning the ravioli tasted strange like if something was burnt or not cooked right. I should have said something but I thought that it was there way. The pizza was not as greasy and was good. Each flavor had a fresh taste. No complaints there except the price. $30 Fast forward we came home and I was awoken with a bad urge to throw up. The Ravioli gave me food poisoning. I haven’t been able to do anything. I had plans to work on my boat and now I’m bed ridden.

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at and I’ve been to Italy. The salads, pastas drinks were amazing. But the tiramisu is the best I’ve ever had. The service was spectacular. Micky was so kind and knowledgeable. He wasn’t lien when he said the tiramisu was world class. Also, the music was gorgeous! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Delicious family owned restaurant that is always worth the drive. The ravioli are the best I’ve had but the orecchiette is so so good it is always tough to decide what to get. The desserts are incredible too! The staff is attentive and charming. Nothing to complain about at this fantastic restaurant.

Delightful Italian restaurant in Malibu. Our party of four included two teens, and we enjoyed pasta dishes and pizza. The service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 Stars Gravina in Malibu is a true hidden gem — and Pino is the heart and soul of it all. The food is consistently delicious, with authentic Italian flavors that transport you straight to the coast of Amalfi. The pasta is always fresh, the wine selection is top-tier, and the ocean breeze just makes it even better. But what makes this place truly special is the warmth and care you feel the second you walk in — thanks to Pino. His passion for hospitality and genuine love for his guests shines through in every detail. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just stopping in for a quiet dinner, Pino makes you feel like family. Support local, support real, and treat yourself to a night at Gravina. You won’t regret it. 💯
