Seafood restaurant
Broad Street Oyster Company is a charming seafood restaurant with a maritime ambiance and outdoor terrace. Renowned for its delectable lobster rolls, this establishment offers both warm, buttered options and Maine-style chilled rolls with mayo. The menu also features luxurious additions like uni and caviar, as well as other East Coast-style seafood dishes such as spicy soft-shell crab sandwiches and linguine with clams. Additionally, the restaurant provides more affordable options like beachside burgers and fish tacos.
I’ve visited this location twice over the past year while in town, and the drive out to Malibu never disappoints — especially when it ends with good food. Each visit has been a great experience, made even better by the consistent quality of the dishes. I’ve tried a handful of items, starting with the oysters, which were fresh and delicious on both occasions. I’ve had both versions of the lobster roll — chilled and warm — and personally, I preferred the chilled one this time around. The caviar hot dog was a fun and unique twist, definitely worth trying and one I really enjoyed. I also tried the steamed mussels, lobster bisque, and clam chowder, though I’d probably skip those next time. That said, I’ll absolutely be returning for another lobster roll and to finally try the Seafood Tower, which looks absolutely incredible.

Warm sunny days and oysters are the best combo. I decided to try this place for oysters, and they were pretty good. They serve them on a large platter of ice, which is convenient if you're planning to take them to go. I also ordered the lobster roll, which was tasty with its nicely buttered bun. There's a covered area with tents where you can sit and eat, and the wait time for everything was pretty short.
Chunneath K — Google review
Lovely place to visit after a long day at the beach. Fresh and delicious seafood paired with great beers. My only comment is that their caviar hot dog isn't as covered in caviar as the picture shows, but I guess I'll let that pass. Everything else was great.
Rex ( — Google review
Stopped at this establishment because had to use the charging stations and it was a great choice. The charging stations were quick and all was working, but the establishment was friendly. The beers were cold and had great seating. Didn’t have enough time to try the food but it smelled and looked good.
Daniel Z — Google review
I know this is an upscale place and what not however, the portions here are ridiculously small. I spent over $180 for 2 extra lobster rolls and caviar with 1/2 oysters and drinks. It felt more like a snack than a meal. One of the guys in the counter with a full beared does not have any customer service skills. If I ask for ketchup just give it I’m paying a crazy amount and 3 packets aren’t going to bankrupt you. Other than that the food was amazing no doubt but definitely needs touch of customer service.
Erick P — Google review
The food here is absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. Parking is plentiful, which makes visiting very convenient. The restaurant itself is clean, well-kept, and has a welcoming vibe. A great spot in Malibu for anyone who loves seafood!

10/10 no notes This is the spot. While we didn’t have oysters, what we did end up having was bomb dot com. We got so lucky getting there when we did. There were only 4 people in front of us. The line was way longer when we left. 2 of us got the warm lobster roll and the 3rd person got fish and chips. When I tell you, that first bite shut me up. That’s when you know the food is good. The conversation stopped so we could focus on the food. First of all, that bread. Wow. Melted in your mouth like butta. Gimme all the bread. The lobster was delicious. There was a good amount in there too. Don’t even get me started on the fries. I sure did eat it all. I paired a cider with my meal. I coulda had another one, but I opted not to since we were planning to get dessert elsewhere so I needed to make sure I had space. Service was great. The lady out front was friendly and smiled at every customer when they got to the front of the line. Same for the guys on the other side where you pick up your order. It’s super spacious in their corner. They have two seating areas so you’re sure to find a spot. Can’t wait to be back so I can try the cold version of the lobster roll and go to town on some oysters.
Julie D — Google review
Seafood Lover this is your place! Beautifully fresh seafood in a casual fun location in Malibu. In the shopping center off PCH behind Lululemon in alley way. Lobster rolls that looked really good unfortunately we didn’t order those. Crab Louie salad, The fish tacos were to die for. Everything was so so fresh. They did have sea urchins, but we didn’t try them. The oysters on a half shell were gone in a moment. Can’t wait to go back!

Nobu Malibu, a beachfront restaurant by Iron Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, offers a fusion of Japanese delicacies and California cuisine in a modern setting. The minimalist design with Pacific Ocean views creates an ambiance perfect for enjoying new-school sushi and celebrity-spotting. Despite the high prices, the menu delivers on flavor with dishes like creamy uni tacos and yellowtail jalapeno sashimi.
Lunch with a view! Every dish was beautifully executed—flavourful, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully plated. The sauces and spices added depth without overpowering the natural flavour and freshness of the fish. Portions are on the smaller side, so you’ll likely need several dishes to feel full. Guests can easily spend $100+ per person, without drinks. Worth it for the quality and experience, but good to know in advance.

Good food and great views. Service started out very well but once they got more busy, they kind of just forgot about us. Took a long time for dessert menus and after not coming back for our orders, we ended up skipping that and just settling the bill. It's a very pricey restaurant so I expected better than that.
Sam C — Google review
Love Nobu Malibu! Of everything - you have to get the scallop truffle chips. The views are just impeccable, service is amazing, and quality is delicious. We tried the Nobu Signature Menu this time which came with 8 courses (4 cold and 4 hot). It was nice to give a taste into the restaurant.
Sabrina U — Google review
First of all I didn’t know Nobu was a Japanese Peruvian fusion which made the whole experience even more interesting. We did the omakase and it was amazing. I loved the tiradito the wagyu nigiri the filet mignon and honestly almost everything. The drinks were also really good and at that price point that’s the least I expect. Overall it’s a once in a lifetime experience and I would say it’s worth it because the whole vibe there is just perfect

Review: Nobu Malibu – A Scenic Spot for a Sweet Celebration We visited Nobu Malibu to celebrate our anniversary with something simple—just tea and cake—and the experience was unforgettable. The oceanfront setting is truly magical. Even for a light visit like ours, the atmosphere made it feel incredibly special. The service was warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. The staff made us feel welcome, even though we weren’t there for a full meal. We were seated right by the window, with a breathtaking view of the waves crashing against the rocks. It felt peaceful and romantic. We ordered hot tea, which was served beautifully, and a dessert to share. The cake was delicate and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness and presentation. Even this small treat felt elevated—typical of Nobu’s reputation for detail and quality. Overall, Nobu Malibu is more than just a dining destination—it’s an experience. Whether you go for a full dinner or something as simple as tea and dessert like we did, the setting and service make it feel truly special. It was a lovely way to mark our anniversary, and we’ll definitely be back.

Nobu Matsuhisa… you did it again! This is by far my favorite location of this restaurant. The beach is gorgeous and the atmosphere of the place is out of this world. Of course it is expensive but this is a go to place when you need to celebrate something! I will say though that they do not give free desert on your birthday!

Place was amazing beautiful. This review is my opinion so don’t compare this to your visit. We went here for lunch and were aware of the concept and the pricing. When we came in the front entrance we had to walk around for 2 minutes before being greeted although we came across multiple servers/ employees When we were seated we were handed the menu and we made our choices before the food came it took some time but it was really good and nice. Overal my experience was alright why the 2 stars?? They say hospitality is one big theater and I agree but this was a REALLY bad one they were too friendly it seemed fake, putting up high voices and exaggerating as a woman in from my experience you are only welcome here if you are very popular or if you order a wine that’s worth 400+ dollars. In my opinion if it needs to be like that it’s not real hospitality. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and if you are curious about me I review a lot of other places

Neptune's Net is a classic seafood joint in Malibu that has been a favorite among bikers for years. It offers two dining options: the 'Restaurant Side' with fried food and bottled drinks, and the 'Seafood Side' with fresh catches and draft beer. The restaurant's laid-back charm has made it a popular filming location for movies and TV shows.
My family and I stopped here after a day at the beach. We were all craving some fried fish and this was a spot they had been to before. Despite being a pretty busy Sunday afternoon, there was lots of seating inside and outside with a beautiful overlook of the sea. You order inside by grabbing a drink from the fridges and then picking from an array of (mostly fried) fish options. They had other food choices but we all got different fish. Food came out super quick, we probably only waited about 5 minutes and everything was hot and fresh and super filling. There is a condiment bar where you can grab your own sauces and coleslaw. Their cocktail sauce has a little bit of a kick to it! The food itself wasn't salted, so you did have to salt it yourself, but I understand that helps appeal to a wider audience. They also had a separate part where you could order fresh fish but we didn't go in there. They also had some fun merch items and I did end up getting these sandals that were in the shape of crabs 🦀 Overall we really enjoyed our meal. The only downside is I felt like the food was on the pricier side. So if you go with your family, expect to pay at least $100 if everyone wants a drink and their own item.
Maika R — Google review
Great spot on the beach. The seafood is so tasty. I got the shrimp and chips which were breaded and fried just right. Can't beat the view of the Pacific from your table. Their menu is huge so many great items to choose from.
Robert P — Google review
Neptune’s Net is a great seafood shack along the coast in Beautiful Malibu the experience to eat right in front of the Pacific Ocean is Priceless! The food is usually Fresh and well prepared but some of their dishes could use a bit more seasoning. The clam chowder was really good, the seafood platter was good but not really the best, the shrimp plate was a little better! The staff are super nice and the place is pretty clean if you don’t mind all the pigeons trying to steal your food!
Edgar O — Google review
Really nice spot and definitely a must-go for Fast and Furious fans! My husband and I ordered the shrimp and fries, they were good, although I was expecting the shrimp to be a bit bigger considering the price. It is on the pricey side, but that’s expected for such a famous spot in Malibu. It was pretty crowded, but the process is simple: you order at the counter and then grab a table. Overall, a great experience!
Raissa N — Google review
On our way through Malibu on a recent road trip, we couldn't resist stopping at the iconic Neptune's Net. We weren't disappointed! We ordered fish and chips, and the seared ahi tuna salad (there's a choice of dressing, but try the ranch). Two large pieces of fish, with plenty of fries. And, days later, I'm still thinking about that big piece of perfectly seared ahi, on top of the salad. So good. And of course, the ambiance here is also unmatched - the bustle, indoor/outdoor seating, the beach just across the street. We will definitely return next time we're in Malibu!
Denise — Google review
Rolling up the Pacific Coast Highway for the first time, I couldn’t resist pulling over at the iconic Neptune’s Net—because let’s be honest, if it’s good enough for Dom and Brian, it’s good enough for me (yes, a little Fast and Furious nod there). This spot radiates pure California vibes: ocean breeze, surfboards cruising by, and that laid-back energy you can’t fake. The food? Classic and satisfying. My family went for burgers and fries from their broad menu, and every bite hit the spot. Between the ocean views, easygoing service, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile, Neptune’s Net is the definition of a must-stop along the PCH. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll be back—and you should add it to your list too.
Jeremy G — Google review
The food was good. I had the breakfast sandwich which I thought was very good and the crabcakes were very decent too! Unfortunately, it is priced like a tourist attraction so bring your credit card.
Steven C — Google review
Fast service! The food was great, although a bit pricey. They charge $1.50 for soda refills on regular size fountain drinks. Beautiful view of Malibu beach across the street. Plenty of parking. The Knucklehead cheeseburger was $23 and came with shoestring fries. Soda was paid separately.

Greek restaurant
Restaurant
Taverna Tony is a lively Greek restaurant located in the Country Mart of Malibu. It offers hearty portions of traditional Greek cuisine and has outdoor seating, creating a charming ambiance for diners. The restaurant is known as a celebrity hotspot and has been attracting famous patrons for over two decades. With its rustic decor and local vibe, it's an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the main square.
I had dinner at Taverna Tony in Malibu and it was an amazing experience. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, giving a true taste of Greek hospitality. For appetizers, we had the Saganaki, which was super delicious, and the Meze plate — a great sampler of all the classic dips — paired with Taverna fries. We also enjoyed a fresh and flavorful Greek salad. For the main course, we shared the Taverna combination platter, which came with huge portions, perfect for sharing. Make sure you come hungry! Overall, a fantastic meal and definitely a must-visit spot in Malibu.
Ahmad A — Google review
We stopped by for a light lunch. The atmosphere was great, quiet, and the food was wonderfully clean and neat. We were seated on the outdoor patio, and I kept noticing the sound of chirping birds—until one of them pooped right from the ceiling, and part of it landed on my second daughter’s head! It was certainly a good memory turned into an unforgettable one! The appetizer bread and deep sauce were truly outstanding and the highlight of the meal. The other dishes weren't quite to my personal taste, so we only ate some and took the rest home.
Euigoo K — Google review
I ordered the slow-cooked lamb, and it was served literally one minute later—clearly pre-prepared and pre-plated. That said, the lamb itself was absolutely phenomenal—possibly the best in the area. Truly delicious. Unfortunately, the accompanying dishes didn’t match the quality of the lamb. The potatoes had way too much lemon, and the overall presentation of the plate felt sloppy. Honestly, forget the sides—just come for the lamb. A few other things to note: the glass on the table was unstable and moved around, which made dining a bit uncomfortable. The ambiance, especially outside, is actually quite nice. Service was just okay. I drove 30 minutes to try this place. Despite the flaws, the lamb made it worth the trip—but I wouldn’t come back.

Taverna Tony is such a charming and lively Greek restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with beautiful décor and traditional music that makes you feel like you’re in Greece. The food is absolutely delicious — everything is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service is excellent; the staff are attentive, friendly, and make you feel at home. Portions are generous, and the outdoor patio is perfect for a relaxing meal. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Malibu!
Viktoriia S — Google review
My girlfriend’s family is from the area so this is a staple for them and they knew Tony when he used to manage it more actively. I’m so excited I got to come a few times. There’s something about this place that I just love… everything is clean and Mediterranean. The service is attentive and friendly. The food is really good and well portioned. I love their special dip that comes with hearty bread right when you sit down. We get the Spanokopeta every time and also have had the Lam Souvlaki and the Moussaka. Very good! Definitely save room for the Baklava.

We had a lovely dinner at Taverna Tony in Malibu. As someone from İzmir, Türkiye, I really appreciated the familiar flavors and Mediterranean atmosphere. The food was fresh and well-prepared — simple, tasty, and comforting. It was nice to enjoy dishes that reminded me of home without being overly fancy or forced. A pleasant spot if you’re looking for something relaxed and flavorful.

Seafood market
Nestled along the stunning coastline, Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Patio Cafe is a delightful no-frills destination for seafood lovers. This charming spot has been delighting patrons since 1972, serving up some of the freshest catches straight from the ocean to your plate. With picnic table seating that allows you to soak in breathtaking ocean views and breathe in the salty sea air, it’s an ideal place to enjoy a casual meal.
Oh my heavens! DO NOT MISS!! Seafood is fresh, many selections, everything we got was delicious and everything we saw we said I'll get that next time. The onion rings looked great but the fries were very good too. Here's how it works. Stand in line. Walk in the door, order and pay. You get a buzzer. Walk out the door at the register and go to the left side of the building where you wait for your buzzer to notify you that your order is ready. OR, find a table so you have a place to eat and wait for your order. The line was very long but the staff is extremely efficient, fast and friendly. They did give a refill on tea and it is delicious as well.
K M — Google review
I timed my visit to arrive right at opening (11am) but the lot was already full, so I paid for parking next door. Ended up waiting in line for about 30 minutes, which wasn’t too bad given the Labor Day crowd. Ordered the two fish and fries along with the New England clam chowder — both were fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the wait. Scored a great spot at one of the outdoor picnic benches, right near the water fountain, which made the meal even better. Plenty of seating overall and the ocean views really add to the experience. A classic Malibu stop that lives up to the hype.

Malibu Seafood, October 5, 2025 My daughter's sister said you got to try this place so we decided to & why not if you're coming out to Malibu, CA for the beach 🏖️ or just enjoying a drive up & down the PCH you can't go wrong especially if you ❤️ seafood! Malibu Seafood is so Awesome! With so many different kinds of seafood to choose from as you can see on their menu plus other stuff also like different kinds of bread to eat with their clam chowder sourdough bread 🍞 or a bagel 🥯 or a baguette 🥖 for later & OMG! 🤤 The "Fish & Chips" are to die for they are so freaking good perfectly battered & the french fries just have that amazing taste to them also plus the clam chowder & the shrimp tacos 🍤 🌮 ! So no matter what you order you can't go wrong! Please don't forget the extra tartar sauce & the malt vinegar or the ketchup or the hot sauce 🌶️ some people enjoy that & the butter 🧈. Note: the outside eating areas can get very busy to find a table but you can & I ❤️ the "No Dogs" 🐕 sign but you still see them there! L🤣L! The view is breath taking of the ocean 🌊 & you can see the PCH right there as you eat it's so beautiful. Thank You to everyone here at Malibu Seafood for making our first time here a very wonderful & exciting day with all of the food & the smell of fresh seafood & the sights & sounds of people enjoying life & just eating & making everlasting memories. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s & 💯%+ for the service & for the food & everything else. Great Job Y'all!!! 👏 😎👍

This spot operates as a fish market from 10 AM and a restaurant from 11 AM, so everything is very fresh. The food was absolutely delicious and felt like it had just come out of the ocean. Be prepared for lines on weekends—I recommend taking a photo of the menu while waiting so you’re ready when it’s your turn to order. After placing your order at the counter, they’ll give you a buzzer so you can grab a seat while your food is prepared. There are three patio areas for outdoor seating. Some have partial shade, but on hot days, it can be uncomfortable—umbrellas are limited. Parking is a challenge: there’s a $12 lot, a few free spots nearby, and the option to try your luck on the PCH. Even the paid lot fills up fast. There are a couple of restrooms, but they were pretty dirty on our Sunday visit. One note: dogs technically don’t seem to be allowed on the patio, but I did see a few around. If your dog is quiet and well-behaved, it seems like staff and guests are okay with it.

About an hour long line, standing in the sun, to place an order. Took about 20 minutes for the order to be ready. I ordered fish and chips, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, a grilled salmon platter, and a couple of fountain drinks. They only have one size fountain drink. It’s about the size of a medium drink at most places. The drink didn’t stand a chance after standing in line. The food was good. I was hoping for an amazing meal, especially for the cost. It was good, not OMG good. The tacos didn’t look like the picture in the reviews. No shredded cabbage or lettuce? There was a lot of sauce on both tacos. No flavors stood out. It was all one note. The fish and chips were excellent as also the salmon, rice and coleslaw. Parking in the parking lot isn’t something I would plan on. The restroom was clean. Overall decent experience. Right on PCH, across from the beach. Neat local historic place. Also, looks like a place where you can eat outside with your dog [ITS NOT]. There are signs in multiple locations around the building and dining areas that prohibit dogs.

Fish tacos were pretty good but not great. (My October 2025 spooky video review goes more in depth). The TLDW: It's shredded fish not whole fish and salsa wasn't as spicy as I would prefer. They seem to be liked, if not loved, by many as there was a line literally out the door and around the side. I will be going back and will update the review once I get a chance to see if their score goes up or down. Overall score: 4.25 out of 5 Recommend to try: Yes Affordability: 2 tacos plus a drink = approximately $18 So a bit higher than what I would like but considering the area it's reasonable and definitely better than just getting McDonald's, etc. & more than likely better for you.

Really excellent basic fish shack kinda place. The seafood, however, is excellent. Great laid back vibe, welcoming staff. A tradition. Update: just had one of my best meals in LA here. Fresh grilled corvina, Cole slaw and fries. Extremely simple but each element was perfect and they all worked together. Pro tip: if the MS specials board says fresh grilled anything, order the anything. The freshest fish goes from the docks to the specials board . Oh, and their tartare sauce is more like aoli.

I am not quite sure why I never came here before but I went there today with my son and it was fantastic the service was great you don't sit down and go in a restaurant you just walk up to the Girl place your order go sit outside on the balcony looking at the ocean and then come back when it's ready. We had a seafood combination platter that was fantastic!

Visitors can explore replicas of ancient Roman architecture and admire artifacts such as frescoes from Pompeii and a bronze statue of an athlete.
This is a magnificent space and worth the trip. The gardens are beautiful and the exhibits are spectacular. It is said that there his is the most richly endowed museum in earth and it shows. It is immaculate and extraordinarily well maintained. It would be easy to spend hours upon hours exploring the artwork, artifacts, and the grounds. This is a can’t-miss experience.

This is my first time visiting this beautiful museum. I'm happy they protected the museum from the recent wild fire. The artifacts were in exceptional condition. I think next time I attend a group or semi private tour. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a place to relax outside and walk into the museum at your own leisure. It is so serene with the view of the Pacific Ocean in the background.

This place is unreal. The setting along PCH just east of Malibu close to the ocean is amazing. Went late September on a Thursday. Got there at 10 AM as they were opening and stayed a little over 1.5 hours. Parking was easy and $25. Admission is free so the overpriced parking didnt feel that bad. The museum is excellent and has lots of good Greek and Roman paintings, sculptures, and other artifacts. Had an Egyptian exhibit while I was there that was nice as well. But where this place shines IMO is in the building and the gardens. Impressive replica of an ancient Roman palace. So many details done right from the courtyards to the gardens to the galleries to the fountains. All amongst the back drop of the Pacific Ocean. Absolutely incredible. I didn't want to leave! Went to the Getty as well and thought this was even better, which speaks highly of this place. Was less crowded when I went compared to the Getty Center (went to both on same day).

I first visited the Getty Villa back when it was called the J. Paul Getty Museum, during my freshman year of college. What struck me most was how it felt—like stepping into a wealthy person’s private home rather than a typical museum. The antiquities were displayed in this gorgeous villa setting with gardens and marble halls, all located on the Malibu cliffs. It had this eccentric quality that reflected J. Paul Getty’s personal vision and made ancient artifacts feel completely at home. Coming back decades later, I’m impressed by how they’ve improved the place while keeping that special atmosphere intact. The renovation back in the early 2000’s brought all the modern museum conveniences—better signage, clearer organization, smarter educational materials—without losing the villa’s charm. They’ve also made it more resilient against Malibu’s wildfire threats after the Palisades fire in early 2025. The best part is that it still has that quality where you feel like you’re actually in a different time, just with better amenities and a more thoughtful presentation. If you haven't been there since 2005, I would recommend you going back to see the differences and enjoy the fresh Malibu air. Bring others in your family to enjoy too.

The Getty Villa: An Ancient Roman Escape in Malibu The Getty Villa is arguably one of the most uniquely themed museums in the world. It is the perfect destination for anyone interested in Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities, but the main draw for many visitors is the stunning environment itself. Modeled after the ancient Roman Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum, the property transports you straight to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean. The Architectural Experience (5/5 Stars) The architecture is the undisputed star of the show. The sprawling villa features magnificent courtyards, stunning mosaics, frescoes, and reflective pools that perfectly capture the essence of a first-century Roman estate. Walking through the Outer Peristyle with its 300-foot-long pool, surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens and bronze statues, is an experience in pure escapism. It’s hard to remember you are just off the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. While some critics view the detailed recreation as leaning toward "theme park," the sheer beauty and atmospheric quality of the design are compelling. The architecture is a powerful educational tool that provides context for the art housed within. The Collection and Exhibits (4/5 Stars) The collection is specialized, focusing exclusively on ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art dating from 6,500 BC to AD 400. While the collection may not be as expansive as the world’s largest art institutions, its intimate focus allows for a deeper appreciation of the works. Highlights include beautiful black and red-figure vases, intricate jewelry, everyday household wares, and, most famously, a highly debated statue known as the Getty Kouros. The way the galleries are designed—often using natural light—allows the antiquities to be viewed beautifully, providing an immediate connection to the past. Gardens and Amenities The four distinct gardens—each styled after a different ancient Roman prototype—are delightful, offering tranquility and gorgeous photo opportunities. The Herb Garden is particularly fragrant and well-labeled. The museum is very visitor-friendly. General admission is always free (though a timed reservation is required), and the café offers reasonably priced and fresh food with a spectacular view of the amphitheater. The staff is knowledgeable and available for guided tours, which are highly recommended for understanding the context of the architecture and the art. Final Verdict The Getty Villa is more than a museum; it’s a beautifully realized piece of immersive architecture. It is an essential visit for anyone in the Los Angeles area, particularly those who appreciate ancient history, stunning views, and architectural grandeur. Plan to spend as much time outdoors enjoying the gardens and courtyards as you do inside the galleries. Tip: Book your free tickets well in advance, especially during peak season, and don't forget that parking requires a fee.

Visiting the Getty Villa is like stepping into another era—the museum perfectly captures the elegance and grandeur of ancient Rome and Greece. Every gallery is a treasure trove of meticulously preserved artifacts, from intricate sculptures to everyday objects that bring the ancient world to life. The attention to detail in both the collections and the villa itself makes the experience immersive and unforgettable. Walking through the gardens, surrounded by classical architecture and stunning ocean views, adds another layer of awe. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply curious, the Getty Villa offers a journey through antiquity that feels both intimate and monumental. Truly one of the finest museums for experiencing the beauty and sophistication of ancient civilizations.

The Getty Villa in Santa Monica is one of the better day-adventures we have done in the greater Los Angeles area. The cafe has good Mediterranean food at a decent price (yes, they have beer and wine, too), and the photo opportunities here were endless! If you dig ancient history, architecture, and relaxing environments, this is should be on your bucket list.

What a beautiful museum? This replica Villa is full of ancient history and beauty almost unimaginable. Thank you J.Paul Getty for sharing your treasures with those of us who could never dream to see them. I saw items from over 2-4 thousand years old!

Located in the northernmost part of Malibu near Point Dume, Paradise Cove Beach Café offers a unique dining experience right on the beach. The café features an enclosed and airy setting with some tables directly on the sand, allowing guests to enjoy their meal while soaking up the sun and ocean views. With funky beach-inspired booths and large windows overlooking Paradise Cove Beach, visitors can savor American fare and tropical drinks while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
This place is surprisingly good for a touristy beach restaurant. The menu is chaotic. Huge fonts, bright colors, looks like a chain letter email you forward to avoid 7 years of bad luck. However, the portions are HUGE. And the food was great! We sat outside in the sand and listened to the big waves crashing on the shore. The service was good. The food was tasty. Not crazy busy at lunch time but I can imagine this place turns up at night. Highly recommend! Also! Make sure to validate your parking ticket or you’ll have to pay the beach parking rate!

We love coming here to hang out for a few hours by the ocean. The food is always good without ever being brilliant but the scenery is surely what anyone comes for (and the cocktails!) . The staff are lovely and really accommodating - especially at quieter times of the day / week and we will definitely be back again soon.

Wow…just wow! This is a gem of a place! Across the board it was a 10/10 (with the exception of having to pay $10 for parking). The drinks were fun and themed, the food was incredible, and the view is unbeatable. We got a piña colada and an original mojito. And the ahi tuna and tacos (the grilled fish and carnitas were the best of my three). If you’re uncomfortable with birds at your feet, maybe sit inside. But I just loved kicking my shoes off and having my feet in the sand. I would definitely go back!

Quick warning: They use pasta straws for their drinks, so be aware if you have an allergy. If you let waitstaff know, they can generally accommodate your dietary restrictions. We had a fairly large group, but Paradise Cove was able to accommodate us no problem. Food was amazing (it is on the spendy side, so I'd say it's more for special occasions). I had the jumbo shrimp scampi while other family members had the shrimp tacos, clam chowder, and seafood linguine. We also ordered a few desserts including the giant piece of chocolate cake that fed over 10 people (we still had leftovers, but one of the best chocolate cakes ever). They had us outside in booths where you step right into sand upon leaving the table if you can imagine. The view from our table was incredible and it was just a short walk away from the beach. Everyone enjoyed the food and view so much, many already have plans to go back there at some point. We will be coming back here for sure for more family celebrations. One thing I wish would be addressed is the design of the menu. The design for the menu is so busy that we all had trouble figuring out where to look between all the color changes and extreme use of bolding. The place itself is relaxing, but the menu design doesn't quite reflect that so I would suggest a change in menu design.

Beautiful Bay View & Great Cocktails This place has a fantastic location with stunning views over the bay. The food and cocktails are excellent, and the interior is full of historic photos that give the place real character. Service is friendly and quick. Just one tip — the seagulls sitting on the umbrellas can get a bit too interested in the seafood dishes (we saw it happen at a few nearby tables), so maybe choose wisely when ordering!

If you’re new to Malibu, this is a great place to visit! It was my husband’s birthday and I wanted to surprise him. I’m so glad I picked this place, they had really cute & fruity drinks. The food was also great - I like how there are different options. They also brought out a complimentary birthday cake for my husband with a candle which was adorable. This place overall was so relaxing and romantic.

Paradise Cove Café — where Malibu’s past and your calorie count collide in glorious harmony. This spot isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a Hollywood veteran. Beach Boys sang here, movie stars filmed here, and I’m pretty sure half of California’s postcards were shot from this exact deck. You come for the history, stay for the cocktails, and leave questioning your life choices after finishing a portion big enough to feed a surf team. Yes, it’s a bit pricey — but so is everything that comes with a side of private beach and Pacific Ocean pop-culture nostalgia. Pro tip: grab a margarita (or michelada), dig your toes in the sand, and pretend you’re in a 1960s music video. Everyone else here is doing the same

Bought my mom here for mother's day and we had an okay experience over all. There is always room for improvement. We had a reservation at 7:30pm for mother's day dinner. Checked in at 7:25pm, got to out seats at 8:05pm. I would suggest the establishment, manager, and the owner would update or fix their reservation system. For first timers, I already expected that this place would be busy just by reading the reviews and turn around times. I would suggest visiting their website and go through the menu ahead of time. It may not be the full menu but at least you will be ready to know your main course. They serve drink and dessert menu at the restaurant. We ordered the Paella Paradise, Crispy Calamari, drinks , and bread pudding for dessert. They run out of the ribs that comes with the paella so they suggested to add more on the dish on its behalf but as we got the paella, for $125, it's a pretty decent dish. It only got 2 pcs of chicken but I believe they added more on the seafood side. But I don't think it justified the price. The bread pudding was good, did not expect the white chocolate in the pudding but it was good. The only thing that did not sit well with me is the table/s could have been wiped or cleaned thoroughly in between guests and staff would not use the term "did not expect to be this busy or packed". As a well- known establishment, it should be expected especially on weekends and/or on a special days.

Duke's Malibu is a popular spot known for its Hawaiian cuisine and scenic ocean views. Named after Duke Kahanamoku, the legendary surfer and Olympic gold medalist, this restaurant offers upscale American comfort food with a Hawaiian twist. The Sunday brunch buffet is particularly noteworthy, featuring dishes like coconut French toast, tuna poke, and Hawaiian-style ceviche. With its prime location on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Duke's Malibu provides an unforgettable dining experience.
Best calamari in California, in my opinion. Highly recommend it as an appetizer. Unlike the outdoor seating at other restaurants, this one implemented social distancing, had no flies or anything, and an amazing view of the coast of Malibu.

Go here for Great views, friendly service and delicious food. We got there before it opened and there were at least 20 people waiting… a good sign. The food and drinks were amazing and the flavors were perfectly paired and at the appropriate intensity. I had the steak & fries and my date had the mango bbq burger. Both were cooked perfectly and came out hot and fresh. Must visit again to try their Volcano frozen cocktail.

I loved this place especially the location it was by the beach side. We enjoyed the ocean view with the splashing waves with the awesome food. The macaroni was very delicious and the drinks were great. The fish tacos were really nice. The service was amazing and we would highly recommend this place as they have a pretty good menu options.

Service and view were phenomenal. Very friendly and accommodating. Wonderful overall experience. We rated the food 4/5 because we felt the sauce on the steak was too mild but the steak was great. Wish there were more asparagus stalks with it. Fish and chips were good but have had tastier fries. Pie was yummy - but tasted like typical ice cream pie (tasted more like vanilla ice cream than macadamia nut). Hummus plate was very good. Parking is valet ($12 on day we went), but there is also free street parking.

Had an amazing experience, from the welcome, to the atmosphere, the food and especially some timely departure advice due to PCH closure. The hostess took a genuine interest in us and the special occasion that we were celebrating. She took multiple pics of us without us even having to ask (when does this ever happen these days?). The food was great, beer was cold and crisp and the key lime pie was divine. Definitely on our list to revisit and reco to friends.

My wife and I decided to take a day off of work and go to the beach so we took full advantage of the opportunity and away we go. We went to the beach for a few hours and then we planned on coming to Dukes in Malibu for lunch date and the view of the ocean which was so beautiful. I got the prime sirloin steak and fries with a side salad and it was really delicious. The server was really nice and accommodating. As you could see in the pictures, there's plenty of seating inside the restaurant and they have an attached party space for large groups of people who wanna rent out the space. The ambience at Dukes is very chill and relaxing with a view of the ocean. I mean how can it get better than that? There is no street parking as far as I can tell and only a valet parking lot in front of the restaurant that was the only downside of Dukes. I would definitely recommend Dukes for anybody who's in Malibu and wants to have a good lunch or dinner with the view of the ocean. Amen and yes please.

Fun little spot with locations across California and Hawaii. Really nicely done Hawaiian vibe with decent food. Enjoyed the ocean view and lively atmosphere. The chicken tenders were crunchily breaded, but the fries were a little soggy. Probably the biggest downside of the visit. Our waitress (Carmin) was very attentive and kind. The Hula pie was creamy and delicious. Definitely worth trying. Keep up the good work, Duke’s!

Malibu Pier, an iconic structure dating back to 1905, is located next to the beach and offers a variety of attractions. The area has historical significance, with evidence of Chumash settlement dating back 7000 years. The pier's proximity to Los Angeles studios has made it a popular filming location for movies, TV shows, and music videos. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the pier while taking in views of the cliffs and luxurious homes.
Super rad place. Parking is tough depending on the season and time if day. The parking lots close after sunset i think, so assure your vehicle is moved should you park there. Surf is usually pretty clean. Lots of large rocks, so use caution. On higher tides you are able to skimboard there, which is super dope. Usually pretty packed with beach goers and surfers. But still a great and welcoming vibe. Don't forget to take all your trash off the beach when you're done!

Beautiful iconic malibu pier. It was very beautiful quiet, peaceful. We enjoyed amazing sunset. I wouldn't recommend anyone on wheelchair, walker or anyone on high heel because pier floor is not even. We witnessed one lady fell and broke her frant tooth. So very carefully.

Iconic spot in Malibu. We walked the pier and then along the shoreline. We watched all the surfers try to catch some waves. I is a beautiful way to spend an evening. We did see some of the carnage from the wildfires driving to the pier but its been cleaned up well for the most part.
END A — Google review
Good to walk on out to see the beach activity, the wooden walk is kind of bumpy. When I walked there the 2 restaurants at the end of the pier were closed. There were a lot of fishing along the pier but no activity. I did not know they caught any. But it is nice sunny and breezy and nice views.
Somkietr R — Google review
It's only been a little over six months since the wildfires in January 2025, but the sight of burned houses in Malibu was heartbreaking, in stark contrast to the beautiful ocean. I hope that one day, homes will be built where everyone can live in peace, just like the beautiful ocean. Many surfers and families were enjoying the summer at the beautiful Malibu Beach. With uniformly high waves, it must be a recommended spot for surfers. There was also a delicious restaurant at the pier, so we enjoyed the beautiful ocean and a meal
T M — Google review
I went there on Sunday 7/27/25 afternoon. Pier was not full and restaurants were open but not the one at the very end. There was a sign saying there will be a live music session next weekend. There was a significant line of people waiting to be seated on the patio at the Malibu Farm Restaurant. I haven’t tried the food there but seeing people waiting makes me want to eat there for sure. You can fish from the pier and the views are amazing. No cover to walk on the pier.

Moonshadows Malibu is a sought-after dining destination nestled along the Pacific Coast Highway, offering breathtaking ocean views and delectable New American cuisine. The tiki-themed patio provides an ideal spot for special celebrations, while the upscale setting and elegant blend of American and seafood cuisines make it perfect for a romantic dinner or casual meal. With its prime oceanfront location, Moonshadows offers impeccable service and a memorable dining experience that encapsulates the essence of quintessential Malibu.
The ambiance is simply magical, with the sound of crashing waves and the salty breeze creating a serene atmosphere. Whether you're seated indoors or on the outdoor terrace, every table boasts a stunning ocean view, making it the perfect setting for a romantic dinner or a leisurely lunch with friends. But it's not just the view that's spectacular; the food is equally impressive. From fresh seafood caught just beyond the horizon to locally sourced ingredients expertly crafted into mouthwatering dishes, each bite is a celebration of coastal cuisine at its finest. Personally loved the salad. The menu offers a diverse selection to satisfy every palate, from classic seafood favorites to innovative culinary creations. And let's not forget about the impeccable service; the staff go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and attended to. Overall experience was great, will be back again.

The best part of this meal was its location on the water. The sound of the crashing waves and salty breeze from the ocean were fantastic. Other than that we were not overly impressed with this meal, especially for the price. The food was good, but nothing exciting. None of the menu items we ordered wowed us. The cocktails were served in regular glasses which felt cheap. There are better options located along Pacific Coast Highway for this price point.
Edward B — Google review
Based upon my one experience here I'd say the best thing about this restaurant is it's reputation. The second best thing is its location on the water. The food was uninspired and the service too casual for the price-point. The cold crab leg app was tasteless and the house cocktail sauce served with it watery. The duck/mushroom spring rolls were tasty and very petite. Our entrees were underwhelming. Tiger prawns with pasta and lobster reduction was disappointing. The shrimp were the same size and quality that we purchase from Costco for home meals. The flavor of the sauce bland. The beef short rib with pasta was okay, but again not very flavorful. In the middle of the meal our server decided it was time to hand dry and stack plates in the middle of the dining room just 3 feet from our table. Rather unpleasant noise when dining. Last time we were in the area we went to Duke's down the road. That's where we'll go next time.

Great location, but I got a smell once I walked in and didn't hit me well for a first impression. We also had a party of 10 and wanted to split the bill accordingly, but the waiter never asked us and then told us we could only split it 4 ways. The food was decent- could have used a bit more flavor. The oysters were nice and fresh. The ambiance (outside of the smell) was spectacular. Great scenery, right on the water, great decor. Would have to visit again

This restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience, perfect for any occasion. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you step in. The food is simply amazing - every dish is fresh, flavorful, and truly mouth-watering. And let's not forget the stunning ocean view and sunset - it's the perfect combination. I recently celebrated my birthday there with my sis and it was a night to remember. Thank you for providing such a lovely atmosphere and delicious cuisine.

You can't go wrong in Malibu, at least not here. My family came in from out of town and wanted to go to Malibu. Reservations were easy. Service was quick and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a quick lunch here and while there was a crowd we were seated and served quickly. Let me start by sharing that everyone from the valet, to the reservation check in, the hostess, and other staff went above and beyond with service. Our server made excellent drink recommendations. The panoramic views were absolutely breathtaking. There were 4 of us and everything we ordered was perfection.
Tanisha — Google review
Through the food, we witnessed the changing of the seasons. In this modern era, it’s a privilege to put down our phones and open our senses to the world, to touch the color, to witness the shapes. It's not our fault that we are bound by entities like games, apps, and social media, because they are designed to pump dopamine to our brain cells. But when we sat down and watched the sun slowly set, we felt as if we were experiencing early summer, transitioning into fall, then winter. It's like all the memories of 2023 were replaying in front of our eyes, not visually, but emotionally. Then, of course, food was fantastic. To be fair, I’m not saying it's "oh my god, this is so delicious I have to give it a 10 star but I’m capped at 5” delicious, but it's solid, well-prepared, and joyful food. So I think the point of this restaurant, at least in my opinion, is that it captures your attention, slows you down, opens your senses, and ensures you can enjoy a one-hour dining moment. Don’t forget, make a reservation 30 minutes before sunset. Otherwise you will miss what I just described. I hope you enjoy it!

Let me start by sharing that everyone from the valet staff, to the reservation check in, the hostess stand, manager, servers & other wait staff were all attentive & friendly. They had no issues helping us take group photos. We sat out on the patio & there's nothing like the soothing sound of waves crashing into the rocks beneath us. There are heaters of course but the evening air was crisp & refreshing. The ambiance is romantic yet good for families & groups. The inside of the restaurant offers ocean views as well. There were 5 of us gals out in Malibu celebrating a birthday dinner here. The flavors of the dishes were fresh yet simple. We enjoyed it all & were able to share so that we had a chance to try different menu items. Menu is competitive with California coastal dining. Dress is casual to business casual from what I noticed. I would absolutely recommend this place.

El Matador State Beach is a hidden gem nestled along the stunning Malibu coastline, featuring three charming cliff-foot beaches that are particularly popular during the summer months. This picturesque spot is renowned for its breathtaking rock formations and natural arches, making it a favorite among photographers and filmmakers seeking to capture its beauty at sunrise and sunset. The beach gained fame as the backdrop for an iconic scene in 'The Notebook,' where romantic moments unfold against Malibu's majestic coastal bluffs.
El Matador State Beach is very beautiful especially if you come on a day that the weather is nice. The parking lot is limited but if you come early or just lucky then you might find a spot. The walk down to the beach is not bad and the rocks layout there are beautiful. We came this morning to take our maternity pictures and it was amazing.

recently did a photoshoot at El Matador Beach in Malibu, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. This hidden gem offers dramatic cliffs, sea caves, and unique rock formations that make every shot feel cinematic. The natural light at golden hour was absolutely magical soft, warm, and perfect for capturing that dreamy, coastal aesthetic. The beach has a romantic, almost untouched feel to it, which added an organic, peaceful vibe to the shoot. Whether you’re aiming for editorial, lifestyle, engagement, or creative content, El Matador is an ideal backdrop. Just a heads-up: there’s a steep trail and stairs to get down to the sand, so wear comfortable shoes and travel light. Overall, El Matador Beach brought so much life and depth to my photos. I’d definitely go there again.

Malibu Farms This is one of the most SOLID 5-star reviews I’ll ever write. - Pier Location with Ocean view - Clean, classy, odorless fresh air - Good seating with views throughout - Attentive & helpful staff - Plenty of enticing menu options - Great food with HIGH QUALITY INGREDIENTS ***** Most impressive: - our server Carson was eager to serve, caring, thoughtful and attentive - Any server that remembers you saying you will want something after eating (I.e. coffee; beer)—BEFORE you eat—and then later asks you if you are still interested in it after you eat, is a server that is definitely 100% paying attention to what they are doing. They are fully present and committed to offering the best possible service. - I’m looking forward to returning and bringing others with me

For tourists or locals a great place to spend time. Attentive service, fantastic food and the best views anywhere. I went on a Monday at about 11a and it was no wait even with a large party of 9. I imagine the weekends to be quite backed when the weather is good. Street parking or paid parking.

Me and GF decided to try this place at the Malibu beach pier. They were understaffed and some in training(waiter wise) but all waiters still were friendly and polite. Food was delicious and warm, we had the chicken, steak and salmon options. Jade, was our server and he did fantastic. My only complaint is, I order a flight of beer but, they did not fill my glasses at least to the top for the price. But overall noce view of the ocean and good food, but pricey.

We found this place by chance while driving from Los Angeles — and it turned out to be an iconic spot for brunch! 🥞☕️ Parking is easy — there’s a paid lot nearby ($15 per hour). Just keep in mind that this place is always busy, so expect about a 30-minute wait. On sunny days, I’d recommend avoiding the outdoor seating — the sun gets really strong and you might end up sunburned. 🌞 We ordered the lobster burrito and the crab burger — both were absolutely divine! 🦞🍔 The seafood was fresh and flavorful, the portions generous, and the dishes surprisingly healthy — everything came with either salad or baby potatoes, no greasy sauces or heavy sides. The lemonade was fantastic, though the cappuccino could have been better. The staff was polite, though a few waiters came across as a bit aloof — probably because the place is always packed. Overall, we loved everything about it and would definitely come back again!

Food is soooo good! Came from Texas for my birthday and definitely worth checking out! Options are endless and the view is chef’s KISS! 🤌🏽 You gotta try their most popular Swedish pancakes!! & their smoothies were delicious 🤤

Yesterday, I went again, but this time I wanted to sit down and have coffee with the beautiful view they have. I went to their coffee and gelato shop, which is different from the restaurant, but still the same people. I was so happy that two hours that I spent there not just because I had a wonderful coffee with the great view, but because these three people were so nice with me. The Argentinian girl was super helpful for explaining to me how it works because I wanted to sit down and have coffee instead of going to the restaurant upstairs so she explained how it works and she was super nice. Then the barista who is from Spain, was extremely nice and made my coffee exactly the way I wanted it with a huge smile on his face. The other guy helped me out and choose the best table so I can charge my phone. The three of them made me feel so good I didn’t want to leave! And I cannot wait to go back again. See you soon guys, see you soon San Diego!

Absolutely loved my experience at Malibu Farm Pier Café!The location alone is breathtaking, sitting right on the pier with the ocean literally beneath your feet makes it feel like a little piece of paradise. The vibe is relaxed, coastal, and effortlessly chic, perfect for brunch or sunset drinks. The food was so fresh and flavorful, you can really taste the farm-to-table quality. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the view… honestly, no words, it’s the kind of place that makes you stop and just take it all in. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, stunning views, and that perfect Malibu atmosphere.

I ordered the peach smoothie. The atmosphere and view were both amazing, but the drink itself was a bit disappointing. It’s still a nice spot to relax and enjoy the ocean view.

A beautiful location right next to the ocean, fantastic wines, and you can bring your own food as well! Great for hosting birthday’s or just a weekend get together with friends and family.

Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. They prepared a cheese spread for us and a selection of wines that paired really well with the food. All wines were high quality, great flavor and body. They also let us play our own music which added to the personalized experience. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend for small groups and celebrations.

A charming place for a drink and a band was playing in the afternoon. The bartender is really helpful. I tasted many glass of wine for free and I picked the Rosenthal, Cabernet franc 2017! Delicious! My stop was worth it! There is also a fun tunnel underneath the highway to reach the beach.

What a charming little wine tasting spot right off PCH. Great ocean views across the street and a huge patio out back! Didn’t know but it’s also dog friendly so we’ll def bring our pup next time :) There is a great Thai spot right next door you can order food and bring into the winery.

We went for our first time to go see the stand-up comedy show and have some wine. Unfortunately the stand-up was cancelled, but the wine was nice. It's right off PCH, easy to get to. I highly suggest the Thai place next door for dinner.

I have driven by Rosenthal's about once a month and always wanted to check it out. So, since I work on Sundays I thought, why not take my wife there for an early Mother's day stop. Well, she loved it. Greg was our server at the inside tasting room and made us feel very welcome. The tasting is not cheap at $18 - $21 but you need to treat yourself once in awhile. We agreed that the wines are very nice, specially the SR 2018 Grenache. We belong to 2 wineries which run in the $24- $32 range but they are in Oxnard and Ojai. Being on PCH in Malibu you can expect to pay a bit more. We enjoyed a bottle at $48 along with live music and some better than average food truck selections. We arrived at 12:40 and got very lucky with a parking spot right up front on the highway. That saved us $8 parking fee. They should consider parking validation with wine purchase. The tasting room is quaint and becomes small once the heard on people show up from 2 to 4. All the outside seating except 2 small 4 chair tables were marked reserved which was disappointing but we got the front row barrel with shelf center stage for the live music. With all that said I still give this a 4 out of 5 only because of the lack of unreserved seating. The age group is mostly 21 to 29 with some older people hanging out like us, just relaxing, sipping, eating, people watching and enjoying the overall experience that makes PCH worth the 40 mile drive from Camarillo. We will return and bring others and snacks to enjoy next time around. Thanks to Greg for remembering my name too, that actually means a lot. See you next time.

Steak house
Lucky's Malibu is a high-end steakhouse that originated in Montecito and has now made its mark in the Malibu Country Mart. Despite opening during a challenging time, it has quickly become a popular spot, offering classic steakhouse dishes such as Porterhouse and filets, along with an array of decadent potato options. The restaurant boasts light and airy interiors that deviate from the traditional dark steakhouse ambiance.
I am a man from Illinois with an appetite for great food. Nick, the waiter, was courteous, friendly, and attentive. My burger was perfect, at least for me.
Robert W — Google review
Decent place located inside Malibu Colony shopping center. Stopped in to grab lunch, waitress recommended their Lucky’s Burger with thinly sliced onion rings, which were quite good I must say. The burger however was just an average mediocre burger. Further, the ambiance on the terrace is quite nice, with some soft music playing and steakhouse-esque decor. Overall, a decent choice for lunch or dinner in Malibu.
J’s L — Google review
Lucky’s Malibu is definitely a high-end American restaurant, and it lives up to its reputation in terms of elegant interior and overall classy atmosphere. The food itself was excellent, and the service was friendly when we did get to interact with our server. However, there were some things that took away from the experience. We had to wait quite a while before being seated, and after all that waiting, we were placed in a very awkward spot—almost like a side alley where servers were constantly passing by but not really able to stop at our table easily. Because of that, we often couldn’t get proper attention from our server, and it was hard to even make eye contact when we needed something. Even though our server was polite when present, the overall service felt lacking given the level of the restaurant. On top of that, the expectation for tipping felt a bit excessive, which left us with mixed feelings. That being said, the food was still very satisfying, and I can see why this place is popular. But for the price point and reputation, I had hoped for a smoother dining experience. DO NOT REMOVD MY REVIEW.
J S — Google review
Service was outstanding and presentation good, but food was overall a little bland. Everything I had needed salt desperately, the crème brûlée was gritty and the top not nearly caramelized enough. The bread in the bread basket was great and the mixed drink I tried was good. If you want to impress someone with how much you’re spending, get some good photos for the ‘gram, or just want to do drinks over a business meeting, go here. If you want flavor in your food maybe try somewhere else.

Having now been to a Luckys in Montecito and now in Malibu. I almost prefer the one in Montecito. The layout is not crammed hard to walk between tables and had more than 2 restrooms. There was a literal line here at Malibu with 3 people waiting. I took a star off from food because of the creme Brule. It was warm and curdled. Filet Steak was delicious cooked perfectly and cannot say enough about their peppercorn sauce. Restaurant also charged a corkage fee typically above the average at $45. Meanwhile while pouring wine server spilled some of the wine.

Excellent American Food! Very Classic place, a really nice ambience. Thank you so much, to Lucky’s G.M. - Mr. Kenichi Osawa, also to the Assistant Mr. Angel, our server Bryan, and the hostess Audrey. All the staff were excellent, working hard and in a good mood. Definitely I’ll come back! Seafood: -Stephen's Tuna Tartare. -Giant Shrimp Cocktail. Salad: -Burrata Imported Puglia with Tomato, Arugula. Steak: -Porterhouse 28oz Peter Luger style, sliced with Bearnaise Sauce. Dessert: -Molten Triple Chocolate Cake.

Geoffrey's is a renowned Californian restaurant that has been a favorite spot for special occasions since 1948. Once frequented by Old Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe, this elegant establishment offers sweeping views of the Pacific from its outdoor terrace and sophisticated indoor dining room. The restaurant, originally designed by architect Richard Neutra, has evolved into a modern chic destination with an emphasis on seafood dishes crafted by Executive Chef Bijan Shokatfard.
Great food! Great views! Excellent friendly service from the valet, the host, and the server! The Baked Brie Appetizer was so good. The Scotch Benedict with salmon was nicely served on top of a very soft croissant. The potatoes were perfectly cooked. The fruits were so sweet. Easy access to the beach via a short staircase down.

My boyfriend took me here for a birthday brunch & we were both so happy with our experience. Staff were very attentive & helpful. The food was a little overpriced but it was very delicious and the overall experience made it worth it. The drinks recommended to us by our waitress also paired so well with our food! Not much of a drinker but I gladly had a second glass. Not to mention, brunch with a view was icing on top. We were also able to walk down to see the hidden beach tucked away down the steps after a lovely time at the restaurant!

We were greeted by the wonderful host and confirmed our 530p reservation. My wife and I celebrated our 18yr wedding Anniversary and this place didn't disappoint. James was our server and he made our special evening much more personable. We have been to a lot of fine dining experiences but this one was just memorable. Everything was perfect to our standards. The seating, food, ambiance, view and most of all the service was spot on. If we had got there earlier we could have walk down to see the beach access. Definitely RECOMMENDED👍🏼and will comeback soon.

One of the nicest spots for a restaurant along the coast with views from almost every table. Had a very nice late lunch..The food was good and the being right on the ocean is terrific. The place itself is a bit dated, but still nice. Highly recommend the lobster cobb, which has a pound of lobster- much more than most lobster cobbs. The Asian chicken salad was also good. They have a nice selection of white wines by the glass. They would not seat me while my husband was parking, which was bit annoying because their parking was backed up, which does happen there when they are busy. Hasn’t been for a while and was defiantly a good choice.

Great seafood options! The brunch and lunch menus have a little something for everyone's likings! The Paella and the Sea bass were our favorites. As always, we had had to get the Lychee Martinis! We'll be back here soon.

Dining at Geoffrey’s was an exceptional experience. The wagyu steak was executed flawlessly, accompanied by perfectly smooth and flavorful mashed potatoes. Each cocktail was thoughtfully crafted — balanced, refined, and truly delightful. The service was impeccable; the staff was gracious, attentive, and ensured every detail was taken care of with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere was both sophisticated and intimate, creating a setting that felt both welcoming and special. While the parking area is limited and somewhat difficult to access, the availability of valet service adds ease and convenience. This minor detail does little to detract from what was otherwise a remarkable evening. Geoffrey’s is a true culinary gem, and I look forward to returning when I visit Malibu again.

Just phenomenal. Been wanting to go here for years, finally made it happen. Was not disappointed. Made reservations for brunch and got a spectacular table with a view of the ocean. Coffee was marvelous. Bread was delicious. And the filet mignon was to die for, cooked perfectly. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. Our hostess was super cool, like the type you want to have morning coffee with. Fantastic experience. Can't wait to go back.

The Sunset Restaurant is a serene dining choice located on the tranquil Westward beach in Malibu. It offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, making it an ideal spot to witness stunning sunsets. The restaurant specializes in seafood, featuring delectable dishes like tuna tartar and fresh oysters. With its sophisticated ambiance and reasonable prices, it's perfect for romantic evenings or memorable gatherings.
The staff here are friendly and attentive. The happy hour menu is available at the bar and front area. If you just want to stop by for a quick and relaxing time, I definitely recommend trying the happy hour menu! It’s also a great place for dinner or a full meal. I had the fried calamari (CALAMARI FRITTI) and the lobster & crab pasta (LOBSTER & CRAB LINGUINE). The pasta came with a slightly curry-flavored sauce and was loaded with generous chunks of lobster and crab meat. And you must try the fried calamari — it was absolutely delicious! The sauce that comes with it is amazing, and although there’s a $1 charge for a refill, it’s totally worth it because you’ll want to dip again and again. The combo is just perfect! Lastly, I also recommend the carrot cake for dessert — it was a great way to end the meal!

We had an amazing, memorable meal at The Sunset Restaurant. Things I'll always remember: the hospitality of management, the carrot cake dessert, the fish sandwich, and the incredible views and vibe. I had an unforgettable dining experience at Sunset Restaurant in Malibu! The oceanfront location offers breathtaking views, especially during sunset, creating a magical ambiance. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The menu, featuring fresh seafood and locally sourced ingredients, was a delight—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the grilled octopus and the signature lobster pasta! The wine selection paired perfectly with our meal, and the outdoor patio added to the relaxed, coastal vibe. Sunset Restaurant is a must-visit gem in Malibu for anyone seeking a perfect blend of stunning scenery and exceptional cuisine.

A lovely dinner with beachfront views, dog-friendly patio and delicious tropical drinks. Waitstaff were incredibly kind, professional and accommodating and the menu offered something for everyone. We enjoyed the cheese board which came with two types of cheese, fruits and spreads. The Mai Tais were well-balanced and perfect for the beach; and the wine list was full of great selections— we really enjoyed the Malbec. For Entrees we ordered the sea bass and the chicken sandwich, both of which were well-enjoyed. The sea bass was perfectly tender and the Mediterranean olive/tomato sauce on top complimented it well. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience— a perfect place for a beach day — stop in for lunch, dinner or cocktails and enjoy the sound of the waves!

We visited lots of top rated restaurants during our stay in Malibu but this topped them all. It was surreal. The location is absolutely amazing! The beachfront location is great for any occasion. The service and food were great!
R T — Google review
After a great day at Westward Beach, Sunset Beach Cafe was the perfect, convenient spot to grab a bite. The star of the show was definitely the burger. I ordered the Wagyu beef burger, and it was absolutely delicious—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, served on a fresh bun with greens and a side of perfectly crisp fries. That alone makes it a worthwhile stop! The downside of the meal, however, was the melon mocktail. I was hoping for something refreshing and sweet, but it sadly missed the mark. It tasted overwhelmingly like cucumbers, which wasn't what I was expecting at all. I'd skip that drink next time. Overall, Sunset Beach Cafe is a great place to go since it's located right there near the beach. The food is high-quality, and the burger is a must-try. I'll stick to water or a different beverage next time, but the solid meal makes the cafe an easy recommendation.

One of the most unforgettable dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was fantastic, but what truly set this place apart was the incredible sunset view over the Malibu coastline. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky lit up with brilliant hues of orange, pink, and gold—absolutely magical. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, and the staff made us feel right at home. Perfect for a romantic evening or a special celebration. Highly recommend making a reservation around sunset—you won’t regret it!

Beautiful! Amazing beach views with indoor comforts and tinted windows. We attended for a sunset 80th bday dinner. The tables closest to the left window area almost feels like you're dining on a pier over the waters during high tide. The right tables were great too and had the rest of the beach. We visited during 620pmish to 8pm sunset in June, and the sun wasn't too harsh against the windows. Regarding too much UV, the windows also have shades that can be rolled down for harsher sunny moments. Food: We recommend seafood and appetizers!! (Steak and Pork Chops were unfortunate misses for us that night but think it might be just that night, since another friend had a different experience). $19 Valet (takes credit card, cash, etc). Wagyu Beef Roll and Shrimp Cocktails are a must!! This location is open again!!! Secrets out via @losangelesfoodiegirl. We got so lucky to book an 80th bday celebration here within only 1 wk RSVP!!! Rsvp via phone or OpenTable. OpenTable for some reason shows a lot more availability than via the phone. I got a text the day before our running date, then a call in the morning to confirm. They definitely will make sure you'll make your RSVP. - Most of the view tables can fit up to 5 patrons. We were a table of 5 and fit semi-comfortably. - Behind these tables are booth seating for 2 which looks very comfortable. - Upper deck level with larger groups also offers amazing views Overall, the restaurant is tightly spaced, and the tables are close together but with enough space to still pull your seats out and squeeze through. There will be alot of movement traffic between staff coming through the walkways. *Tip: Add the celebration occasion (bday) and honored person's name (my mom), and they'll customize the menu with her name and HB on it. *Tip: Make a note or call to request where you'd like your seating. Window seating is to guarantee. We arrived 30min early and got lucky with not waiting too long. Waiting area: There are 2 seats. There is a bar too. There's outdoor benches near the valet area. I recommend strolling over toward the beach area of the parking lot. There is 1 small bench, and a great view of the restaurant with the beach. Pictures will be difficult to get during evenings around 6pm but still possible. Caution: Don't stand around there around 7pmish or high tide moments with the water splashing over the cliff to that area. You'll be greeted by staff, including different managers to make you or the celebrated person feels special. Food: - $5 bread service. - *$31+$ extra shrimp: Shrimp cocktail was amazing!! They were able to add another shrimp so that each one of us (party of 5) got a piece. I might try their lobster (cut into 2 pc) instead. - $22 Fried Calamari uses dairy in its batter. SO thought it was okay but the table ate it all, so I think everyone else definitely enjoyed it. - *$37 A5 Wagyu Beef Roll was delicious!!! Its a must for me! - $18 Iceberg Salads looked really good. Our table of ppl seem to have enjoyed it and ordered it extra chopped. - Sadly, the 2 different steaks to pork chop was overly cooked. The $49 pork chop is edible just with their apple sauce, which I was told that was incredible. One the steaks were taken back because it was super over cooked and it came back still unevenly cooked. Our $89 aged steak was overcooked but not as obvious. It was unevenly cooked. I'm glad we didn't complain about it because I just think their grill just may run hot at this location? Or it's uneven fires? Or off day? Update: A friend visited and really enjoyed their steak. Maybe our might was an off night? - $57 Seabass looked like the best entree at our table. It's made with butter, and not for me. I have interest in visiting again to try this dish. - $16 Brussel Sprouts - $16 Cream Corn - $16 Mash Potatoes

Visitors can explore tide pools teeming with marine life like anemones and crabs when the tide recedes.
The tide pools were phenomenal! And it was great that there's free parking on the side of the highway, so you don't have to pay for parking. It was a small walk from where we were able to park, across the highway and down a little hill to the beach. We found starfish, sea slugs, crabs, sea anemone, all kinds of fun critters. There's a rocky outcrop that's perfect for tide pooling. Bring sandals with Velcro straps for getting across the rocks easier. It's a bit painful barefoot, or you risk getting your shoes wet.

Clean park and restrooms. Rangers actively walk camp sites when people leave to clean up. Walking distance to the beach. Dog beach on leash on one side of rocks, no dogs on the other. Driving distance to Malibu. Handicapped sites don't have picnic tables on cement, but the spots are flat. Only electric hook up. Fill tanks with water before you get in your site. Potable water is available near dump area to fill tanks. Sites have community spouts.

Amazing! Dog friendly beach as well as non dog friendly. I only checked out the dog beach but it was very nice! The park rangers were so helpful! Rocks were great and the atmosphere here is peaceful! Campground is cute and simple and there are showers and bathrooms. You need coins for the shower and one coin gets you 2 mins of a hot shower. After that it is cold but still runs. I got a good reset here! All in all, great place, easy to access and I will be back if I am in the area! Hope to be able to camp here as the sites are so cute! This is such an amazing place to camp and play in the ocean, explore the tide pools. We try to camp here at least once a year. Highly recommend. Clean restroom and showers. Camp host and store on location .

Our favorite Beach when we go to visit family! Lots of sea and anemones, crustaceans on rocks and the beach just has a more abundant aesthetic than most beaches in this area. Great for families and swimming.

Very nice state park. Beaches were great for what we wanted, which was a bit of lounging and rock hounding. I would not recommend swimming. We spent time at both the dog beach and non dog beach. Seems like the pups had a blast. Very fun to watch.

Adamson House Museum is a Spanish Colonial Revival beach house built in 1929, located in Malibu. It's open for home and garden tours, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich history of the area. Situated on land originally inhabited by Chumash Indians and later owned by the Rindge family, this National Historic Site and California Historic Landmark showcases the legacy of its former owners.
Beautiful house and even more beautiful surrounding. The history behind this house and the region is astounding. Do the tour, you will not regret it. The tour guides are very well informed on the property and you can tell they are very passionate about what they do.

Freed admission to a piece of history. Do not drive past this gem. They have tours, but we missed them. Luckily, there is an excellent self-guided tour with plenty of signs.
Klaus — Google review
The Adamson House in Malibu is an absolute gem—beautifully preserved and rich with history. Our docent, Laurie, was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing stories of the Chumash people, the Spanish and Mexican eras, and the families who shaped the land and built the home. The Malibu Pottery tile throughout the house is breathtaking—its vibrant colors and intricate designs add so much character to every room. Laurie brought each space to life with fascinating details and passion for the home’s legacy. Nestled where the Pacific Ocean meets the Malibu Lagoon, the setting is nothing short of magical. The views alone are worth the visit. The grounds are immaculately maintained and bursting with charm. It truly felt like stepping back in time to a more elegant, slower-paced world. A must-visit for history lovers, architecture buffs, and native Angelinos, like me! Photos are not allowed inside - that's where you will find the fascinating details!

Beautiful manicured grounds overlooking picturesque white sandy beaches, turquoise seas and lagoon. Didn't go into the house but can do if you want to.
G — Google review
The house and grounds are beautiful, and you can walk around the outside and garden for free. Or, you can get a house tour for $7. The tour was really great! Our guide (Diane?) made the house come alive with some interesting history about the family and some cool details on the architecture and furniture. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and we loved it. They run tours whenever guides are free, not on a schedule, but we didn't wait long.
Steph C — Google review
The staff here understands how to treat people and clearly have a passion for the history of the home and surrounding area. I went for a private event and can't wait to do the full tour next time I'm in town.
Darryll D — Google review
If you are looking for an art museum with a big collection, a nice cafe and a well-stocked gift shop this isn’t it, and you’ll be happier at the Getty Villa just down the road on PCH. The Adamson House is a cozy local museum filled with beautiful architecture, gorgeous Malibu tiles inside and out, lovely fountains, hand-painted murals and a lot of local history. And since it is right on the beach, the views are stunning! The gardens are beautifully maintained and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the oceanfront views. You can even step down to the beach. There are docent tours daily but times vary and I’ve never actually seen a docent at the desk so it’s on my list to do that one day. But the house and grounds are beautiful and the signage all around tells the story of the house and its history. Adamson House is a short walk from Malibu Pier on PCH so I would have a nice lunch nearby first and enjoy a leisurely walk around these grounds afterwards. The Adamson House is not open every day and since the devastating Palisades/Malibu fires in January 2025, the hours often vary depending on what work is being done on PCH, so check their website before you plan your visit but don’t miss it!

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Tra Di Noi is a rustic Italian restaurant with a casual family-friendly atmosphere that specializes in authentic Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. The menu spans from soup to pasta dishes to pizza, and there's also a range of gourmet cocktails on offer.
We went here craving some Italian food after a few hours on Malibu beach. Service was good, it had a nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious. We got the pomodore spaghetti and prosciutto pizza. They took a while to bring out, and the portions were extremely small for the price, but we cannot deny they tasted delicious. Don’t confuse this restaurant with the express take out which was about $20 cheaper. The express closes at 4pm. We wanted some cheap Italian food but got a table and was forced to spend $40+ each on food. We would still recommend the place for the delicious food, but be mindful of the prices and what time it is.
Aliza B — Google review
This place is a must-visit! The pizza was simply amazing – crispy, fresh, and perfectly topped. And the pasta was pure perfection, cooked just right with incredible flavors. The only tiny hiccup was the Aperol Spritz, which tasted quite different from the traditional Italian ones we've had. But honestly, it was a minor detail in an otherwise superb meal. The staff were incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly, making the whole experience delightful.
Osman — Google review
Sometimes Malibu surprises you in the best way. I was in a rush for a business meeting, parked nearby, and needed something quick but good. That’s when I stumbled across Tra di Noi Express — and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The setup here is casual but stylish: outdoor seating under big green umbrellas, surrounded by trees and a light soundtrack that makes the whole patio feel relaxed. Even though I was short on time, the vibe instantly slowed me down a little — Malibu has that magic. I ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce. They came out hot, steaming, and full of that homemade flavor you want when you grab Italian. For a fast-order spot, it’s impressive how fresh and satisfying the food feels. The portion was plenty for lunch, and at about $19, it matched Malibu pricing but didn’t feel over the top. Service was straightforward and quick, exactly what I needed in that moment. No fuss, no wait — just good food, good setting, and back on the move. If you’ve got time, it’s the kind of place where you could sit under the umbrellas with a glass of wine and let the afternoon pass slowly. But even for someone on the go, it works perfectly. 5 stars for convenience, taste, and that Malibu outdoor charm. I’ll be back when I actually have time to linger.
Vitali Z — Google review
This was the BEST chicken I've EVER had... AFTER I took it home, added Italian herbs and Kasmirhi peppers and slow-cooked it for 2 hrs. Otherwise the food here was what you would expect at a university faculty cafeteria- just slightly better than the student food. While browsing the menu, we overheard the table next to us ask about the veal. The waiter made a cartoonish chewing motion and said, “can be kinda chewy, to be honest,” so they asked about the sole. He responded with a slow-motion shrug, like a man who’d seen things and couldn’t unsee them, signaling it wasn't worth the $68. We thought, "Okay, let’s go rich and slow-cooked. Lamb shank! You can’t screw up lamb shank!" Oh but I guess you can. It somehow managed to feel dry, flat, with an over-the-counter tomato sauce pasted onto it like emergency varnish applied to a row boat. We don't waste food, so we ate it. That’s when it hit me: this wasn’t an Italian restaurant. This was the "idea" of an Italian restaurant. No Italians in sight. Just waiters in pressed white shirts and bowties, hypnotizing us into believing the food was better than it was. On the drive home, we tried to figure out how a place like this survives in Malibu. Lack of competition? Rent controlled by some ancient coastal curse? We may never know. Somehow we got to $175 after tip and with no drinks. At least I rescued the chicken.
Saam G — Google review
At Tra di Noi, we truly feel at home. Luigi and his team are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The food is fabulous—it feels like you are dining in Italy, or even better, at home. The atmosphere is excellent, and Malibu Country Mart is a wonderful place to spend time with family. We have been enjoying meals at Tra di Noi for the past 17 years, and we absolutely love it!

Love this place for a relaxing lunch in Malibu. We had the tuna tartare, the burrata salad, and the Caesar salad. All great!

We were in the area and decided to have an early dinner, so we decided to try this place and sat in the outside patio area. Everyone was pleasant and attentive from the hostess to the waiters. Good wine selection and the prosciutto pizza was great! Would happily return.

Lily's Malibu is a vibrant Latin restaurant in Malibu that has been serving up Mexican classics, deli sandwiches, and other comfort foods for over 20 years. The owner, Lily, originally from El Salvador, moved to Southern California with the dream of bringing authentic Latin flavors to the area. What started as a bakery evolved into a beloved restaurant known for its delicious breakfast burrito, made with bacon-cut, soft-boiled eggs, cheese, and fried beans.
11/10. The breakfast burrito was amazing and the outdoor seating area captures the perfect SoCal instagrammable vibe. Plus the staff was incredibly friendly.

Cool place. Loved that they have actual original photography hung up, great shots too. Sizable menu, great drink offerings. Just the food was very very bland. And they seemed a bit unorganized, but we're managing. Also, the fan at the door blows your chips all over the floor.

We ordered tacos and had to wait over 30 minutes for them to come out. Customers who arrived after us got their food first, but we had to wait over 30 minutes. The chicken tacos were average, and the asada tacos were dry.

This is a must stop when I'm in Malibu. I'm not super big on burritos or breakfast and they have the best breakfast burritos ever well worth the wait and the green salsa is yummy and spicy and I can't get enough of it 💚 I buy a jar or 2 every time I'm visiting Malibu

Lily’s Malibu I’d give Lily’s food 6 Stars if I could. Lily’s in Malibu is fantastic. The food has a Mexican vibe but you also can grab a burger. A quick distance from the beach. It is clean , well lit and the restrooms were clean. The location has Handicap Parking and is Handicap Accessible. I recommend the amazing breakfast burrito and the burgers.

This place would crash and burn anywhere near the border, but for Malibu, it's pretty good. Since actress Rosanna Arquette crashed her car into it in 2023, it's gotten a facelift (from hole-in-the-wall to boutique Cafe), but so did it's prices. I started coming here as a college kid, but that's hard to justify anymore. Given the price and quality, it's overrated, but hey, that's Malibu. If you close your eyes when swiping your card you'll enjoy the Lily's experience just fine.

Decided to give Lily’s a try after a Malibu beach day. We found the portions to be more than sufficient, decent prices, and tasty. However, the initial ordering process/order receiving was unclear in which many people were standing around confused, inadequate waiting area, etc.

Escondido Falls is a stunning waterfall located in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California. It is a multi-tiered waterfall, with upper and lower sections, and stands at an impressive 150 feet tall. The hike to reach Escondido Falls spans about 4 miles and begins near upscale residences before leading into a shaded canyon. The trail features natural roots, moss-covered rocks, and man-made ropes as it winds through the lush greenery of Escondido Canyon.
This has actually reopened. We went there yesterday, July 2025. Gorgeous hike with a great mix of canyon and ocean views. You’ll feel like you’re walking through a peaceful little forest—there’s plenty of shade thanks to the trees. There’s a small parking lot with a $12 fee, but you can also try parking on PCH just before or after the trailhead (if you’re lucky). A porta potty is available at the start. The first stretch goes through a residential area, but you’ll hit the actual trail soon after. Along the way, you’ll cross a few small streams, but it’s easy to stay dry with a bit of care. The highlight is the waterfall about an hour in—a perfect stopping point. Don’t bother trying to go further; there’s no real trail beyond that, and nothing more to see. Highly recommend for a light-to-moderate hike.
F T — Google review
The waterfall is barely there but it is still a beautiful hike! The first part of the hike is up the cement road, that will be the hardest part of the hike. When you make it to the top of that road, follow the path down the field that will lead you to the actual trail. Overall I would say this is an easy to moderate hike.
Anysia S — Google review
Falls is dried up (August) - had to walk .9 miles through just concrete before hitting the trail. Pretty mid hike.
Nisha P — Google review
Truly beautiful hike! The waterfall naturally gets very dried up in the summer, but still worth a visit!
Eliza F — Google review
A really nice waterfall hidden away in the forest. The hike is quite easy and the waterfall was flowing nicely. Not too much elevation gain and decent amount of shade. There were a moderate number of people but not too busy. A great way to spend some time in nature on a nice stroll.
Shawn S — Google review
What a hike! We went to the falls after a rainy day and boy was it muddy. We were so unprepared we decided to do the entire hike barefoot, which turned out to be a great idea. We had to pass 5/6 streams of water before getting to the waterfall, and it was worth it. Honestly not the most accessible trail especially after rain, would only recommend it on drier conditions. It was the biggest waterfall I have ever seen tho
Arthur B — Google review
This hike to the waterfall is fantastic. Along the way, you'll come across charming ponds to cross. To avoid the crowds, I recommend starting early in the day. Once you reach the waterfall, take a seat and relish the stunning views. The entire trail is shaded, making the journey even more enjoyable. Connecting with nature in this manner is truly the best way to unwind and rejuvenate.
Ramya G — Google review
This was such a beautiful place to visit! The walk up the hill from visitor parking was about a mile of literally just neighborhood to walk through. It was a gradual incline and definitely something to keep in mind for people who have trouble moving around or have a lot of little kids. Be sure to bring a small backpack or something with some water! Also, be sure to bring shoes you don't mind getting wet, we brought some special shoes for walking in water and then just had our tennis shoes separate to put on for dry land! There were four places we had to cross water, and we also walked across the stream to sit on the other side of the falls once we reached them! The falls were absolutely beautiful! It was a bit of a foggy day so there was a good bit of precipitation in the air, although it wasn't raining. It made for a very comfortable walk as it wasn't sunny, and the temperature was perfect! It also felt a bit surreal and almost like we were in a different country! The falls were still really going strong last week when we went! Definitely keep your eyes open for wildlife, there was a coral snake on the trail, unfortunately someone had killed it or someone's dog had attacked it, so it was dead. The walk back was great! Keep in mind, there are no public restrooms! Be sure to use the restroom before going to the hike! There is a public restroom at CVS if you go south on PCH. I'm sure there are other places to stop but it was easy to stop there and grab something to eat at Subway on the way home.

Reel Inn Malibu is a beloved seafood gem that captures the spirit of casual dining along the Pacific Coast Highway. This charming fish shack, with its iconic neon sign, has a rich and colorful history filled with intriguing tales from past owners and events. Despite facing challenges like name changes and even a fire in 1978, it continues to thrive as a go-to spot for fresh fish plates, salads, and fried seafood served in an inviting roadhouse style.
It's been a while, but the memory of this place remains indelible. For me, who am Italian, it is always interesting to eat something different. Very very abundant portions, I find the fish very fresh and good, you can taste the sea, the prices are in relation to the area, dreamy, those that we dream of in the movies. But I find for my taste many, too many flavors in the mouth, a good mix yes but nothing special. For example, I find the salad typical here, full of dressing sauces. A little greasy for me,but I would gladly go back there, every now and then it's also nice to eat like this. See you soon friends

After exploring the Getty Museum, we were in the mood for some seafood. Our aunt took us here and I’m happy she did! The oysters were really good, the fries and fried potatoes were delicious and the fish was cooked well. The fried shrimp was amazing. The veggies were a little undercooked but they were still tasty. Great place to stop and eat at!
Sarah D — Google review
Great atmosphere, great service. Food was okay for me but possibly because of what I ordered. I got fish tacos, calamari and clam chowder to-go. The fish they use is whatever they have for that day, could be salmon could be cod could be mixed(what i was told). It wasn’t bad but the fish used didn’t suit the taco and its coleslaw side. Overall it felt very bland. Calamari - good and crispy when fresh. Not overcooked but standard med. battered thickness. Tasted fine day after as leftover but nothing spectacular. Clam chowder - my fave of the 3, good standard clam chowder with pieces of potatoes and clam.

MALIBU GEM- stopped by the Reel Inn for the first time. We thought it was delicious, staff was friendly, portions were great, and rather affordable! We had the Scallop and Mahi Mahi entrees, and split the steamed clams. The tartar sauce was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.

Great atmosphere, right across the street from the beach. They allow dogs on the lower patio which is a great thing!! Feels like an old time beachside restaurant. Fried zucchini was excellent, great coating, very crisp and crunchy. The zucchini was not overcooked, it was crisp, not soggy. Scollops were excellent, great flavor, shrimp was ok, a little overcooked and lacked seasoning. Cajun Rice very good, great seasoning and flavor. Cole Slaw not really to my liking, to chunky, lacked flavor. Definitely a place worth checking out.
Michael P — Google review
This is definitely a place to go if you want a home cooked delicious seafood meal without paying an arm and a leg. You choose your fish, seasoning and sides give them your name and wait to be called. Our group had four different fishes and each one was delicious!!! There is tons of seating both inside and out. It’s right on the Pacific Coast Highway but not on the water. You can go to a fancier restaurant with an ocean view, but the food won’t be better. The next time I’m in Malibu I’ll eat here again.

Driving down from Solvang to LA, made it a point to stop by Duke’s seafood or Malibu’s seafood, but then things took an interesting turn when I found another gem. Reel Inn which seems to be frequent by locals. They may not have the best view (just across if you want to see the coast) The food look amazing when we enter the place, free and easy, choose your own seat and head to the counter to order and pick up yourself once they call your name. We ordered their crab cake appetizer which comes with 2 sides. Monkfish with eggs in Cajun style was fantastic, highlight of the meal, the spice gave enough kick to get you to finish the entire dish, the rice was chewy and goes so well, there is some smoky flavours to it which must have come from the Cajun marinade. Fish was fresh and meaty, love it. Goes with their really fresh coleslaw, perfect meal. We ordered both soups available, fish chowder is minestrone on steroid with chunks of vegs and chunks of fish. New English clam chowder has huge pieces of clam inside, gives lots of bites in every spoonful. Crab cakes was zero potato & 99% crab meat in there, mash potato was perfectly done just as we expect in US, and goes well with the steamed veges. Drizzle some hot sauce on it, yummmz On the lighter side, we ordered an Ahi Salad too, what was really great was the generous amount of ahi ahi fish and the dressing had a hint of wasabi soya inside, another winner here. Fish tacos was ok for us, could be because we were so engrossed with the meal that it was left cold so we didn’t really have it at its prime lol Overall a wonderful lunch as a pit stop to have some great seafood.

I visited this area many years ago and although a lot has changed in Malibu, I love this park. The park is very well preserved and maintained and the views are stunning. The only issue is the parking is very limited and I am not sure how well others follow the two hour parking time limit but since there were two of us we were able to takes turns and not use the on-site parking. I highly recommend and recommend going early to beat the crowd😁

We arrived at Point Dume parking lot at 7:30 pm, plenty of parking spaces available, paid $3 at the prepaid ticket paying station. There were a lot of photo shootings right at the cliffs, the sunset was beautiful and unforgettable, we even saw some whales passing by. It took us about 10 minutes easy hike to get on top of the cliff. WOW! The panorama of the pacific ocean and the sunset was the best I have ever seen, come experience it yourself!

It was really nice.I was able to sit on the cliff and just people watch for a little.

A go to place for a unique and pleasant walk in one of Southern California's treasures. The parking sucks, very limited, and there are time restrictions, but you can get lucky much of the time. The loop trail is very scenic but not too strenuous, and you can take in the whole sight seeing experience within the time constraints of the parking limits. I highly recommend...

This is a very short but beautiful hike. The hardest part is actually getting a parking spot. The hike takes no longer than a half hour out and back. The views at the top of Point Dume and along the trail are outstanding!

Parking near Point Dume is limited—only about 12–14 cars can fit. Since I was set on finding free parking, I ended up a 10-minute walk away. Security is strict, with police regularly checking for parking violations. Some of my friends have even received tickets here, so it’s best to be cautious. The view is stunning—you can see all of Zuma Beach and much of the hills surrounding Big Dume Beach. It can get quite windy at the top of the hill, but it’s the perfect spot to sit, relax, and soak in the scenery for hours (I could sit the whole day).
Sabhrant — Google review
One of my favorite parts of Malibu. I sat at the top of one of the cliffs for an hour or so and saw a sea lion calling and sunbathing on a rock, two dolphins, and what looked to be orcas jumping off in the distance. Beautiful views, I highly suggest coming. Not really safe for young children though, because parts are just straight down without fencing or anything. For parking, you probably won't find space at the top, but just go to westward beach, its just $8 at modern parking when I went, then head south to the end of the beach and you can hike point dume from the bottom, which I highly suggest.

Heck, make it a taco fest because their tacos are really that good. They also make anything steak so darn delicious. Their steak dinner with rice and beans was also nice. I love their cut tomato that comes with the meal. It’s soooo good. If you want to grab drinks they also have a bar. I love the vibe and the staff are very sweet and helpful. Tell them Toni said to check them out. Those tacos are worth the drive if you don’t stay around Malibu. Oh one last thing… Apple Maps will take you to the wrong address. At least mine did. Their entrance is located on cross creek not on PCH. Have fun and happy eating.

Café Habana Malibu sits in a prime location—just off Cross Creek, close enough to the action but far enough to feel a little more tucked away. It’s got a laid-back, beach-adjacent vibe, which works for what it is, though the decor could use a little more personality. Not a dealbreaker, but you don’t quite get the warm, transportive feel you’d expect from a Cuban-Mexican fusion spot. The waitstaff? Excellent. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there—which always adds to the experience. The menu leans short and sweet—some might say limited—but what they do offer is solid. Think decent tacos, better-than-expected elote, and a couple of standout cocktails. It’s not trying to be Bestia or Guelaguetza—it’s more casual hangout than destination dining. The food falls into the “good, not great” category, but for a sunny afternoon with friends or a laid-back lunch stop while strolling Malibu Country Mart, Café Habana earns its place. It’s not a culinary revelation, but it’s reliable, comfortable, and well-placed. A solid 3.5 stars rounded up for vibe and service.

Cute location in a nice area. Overall, in my opinion food was basic but it came out a bit on the expensive for the full experience. The guacamole was fine - but not necessarily worth it. I got the piña colada - I am still not sure if there was alcohol or not but it was tasty and sweet to my liking. But - in case you want something a bit strong it might not be a good pick. The asada was apparently really good. My bowl was average. Mixed with the sour cream, it was okay, but still got some weird pieces of chicken (fat or hard parts) - I know it can happen but it did gross me out a bit. Staff was nice. It was nothing terrible, but nothing crazy - average restaurant in my opinion.

We ordered a classic cesar salad that came with its own 8oz chicken it was good and tender. I also ordered their fish tacos that came with the rice and bean they were very well seasoned I enjoyed them.

Walking into this restaurant felt like stepping into a small corner of Havana — the vibrant colors, the music, and the energy instantly transported me. The atmosphere was warm and nostalgic, reminding me of the kind of places you'd find tucked away in Old Havana, where food and soul go hand in hand. The owner was incredibly gracious and clearly cares deeply about the place. You can feel their passion in the details — from the décor to the authenticity of the menu. They made an effort to greet us personally, and it made a real difference in how welcome we felt. That said, our experience with the service was a bit disappointing. Our server seemed more interested in flirting with the host than actually doing their job. They were inattentive, forgot parts of our order more than once, and left us waiting far too long for basic things like water refills. It took away from what could have been an outstanding evening. I’d come back for the food, the vibe, and the hospitality of the owner — but I really hope the service tightens up. A place this special deserves staff who match its heart.

A great place for a meal. Our family enjoyed everything; especially the plantains and the corn.
Stephen D — Google review
Being this close to the ocean, there's just no excuse not to salt the food! It's a simple menu, but simple doesn't have to be tastless. The atmosphere was really nice, but the service was very very slow at lunchtime on a Tuesday. We had a group of 6, but there wasn't anyone else at the restaurant when we came, so the 40 minute wait for fish tacos from the time of ordering is unacceptable, in my opinion. We had to flag down the waiter for drink refills. Wouldn't recommend trying to sneak in a work lunch here, especially if you are in need of electrolytes.

Slow service. We saw our waiter maybe 3 times. Food was pricey for what it tasted like. We had to go up to the bar if we wanted anything. Baja Fresh has better corn. Cuban sandwich was not a Cuban sandwich.

The launch was fantastic! The attention to detail was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend trying the calamari.

Went here for lunch. Had the calamari, crab cake, & the arugula salad as appetizers. All 3 were excellent, our favorite was the calamari. The crab cake was a close 2nd. For entrees, we had the special mahi-mahi with risotto, salmon with couscous, & seafood linguine. Both fishes were fresh & cooked perfectly. The star was the seafood pasta - sauce was award winning. Our waiter told us what went into making that dish. The risottos was cooked perfectly. Service was impeccable. Our host was very friendly & courteous. He told us how to get to the Malibu Beach pier (2 traffic lights) & allowed us to park our car at the restaurant. We walked to the end of the pier, they had couple restaurants 1 at the front. We checked their menus, their prices were the same or higher than V’s. I doubt their preparation would equal V’s. Lastly, you can see our lunch portions were more than adequate. I would say equivalent to diner portions at most high quality restaurants. 2 thumbs up for V’s.

Came here as part of a large party for dinner. The atmosphere was great!! Similar vibe to a fancier Midwest supper club. Enjoyed cocktails (delish spicy margarita), apps, and entrees. Everyone’s food was delicious! We were allowed to sit and chat and catch up. Nothing felt rushed. Shout out to our server, Gustavo! He handled a large group so effortlessly. Thank you for hosting us! Great spot in Malibu where you will feel welcomed and enjoy a yummy meal in a warm atmosphere!

Solstice Canyon in Malibu offers a variety of hiking trails suitable for different skill levels, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The approximately two-and-a-half-mile hike provides an opportunity to explore natural pools and a 30-foot waterfall while encountering remnants of a Polynesian-style property designed by renowned architect Paul Williams. The canyon features easy, moderate, and strenuous trails with scenic views of the mountains and ocean, making it ideal for hikers of all ages.
Fantastic moderate hike offering a blend of asphalt and dirt paths in certain areas. There are a few loop options available; the TWR loop is shorter and relatively simple for those seeking a brief excursion. For those desiring a more extended and scenic experience, I recommend heading towards the Tropical Terrace, then following the Sunset Trail back to Parking Lot 2. True to its name, this path offers stunning ocean and sunset views towards the day's end. It's a bit more strenuous due to elevation changes but remains within the moderate difficulty range.
Guillaume B — Google review
We went on one of the many trails around here, and it was absolutely stunning! The views on this trail are breathtaking—definitely worth the effort. It’s a loop hike, and we preferred doing it clockwise. This way, the climb felt more gradual at first and gave us those rewarding canyon-top views with the canyon on one side and the ocean on the other. There’s also a little waterfall and a lively stream running through the trail (we went in July, and the water was still flowing nicely). Be prepared—the ascent can be quite steep in parts, but the payoff at the top makes it all worth it. Facilities are only available at the trailhead, so plan accordingly. Dogs are allowed, but they should be kept on a leash. Parking is a bit tricky. The lot only seems to hold about 30 ish cars. I would say on the moderate / hard side.
F T — Google review
Nice hiking area. A three-mile hike that is somewhat paved with shade from trees. Small elevation gain, but management. There is a small waterfall at the end with a one-time home location that was burnt down, but you can still see its foundation.
Michael H — Google review
The trail loop is about 3 miles and took us a very leisurely 75 minutes with a dog. Go clockwise, starting with the canyon/the waterfall so that you face the view on the way down. No sun shelter on the way down. Very well maintained trail; easy to follow. We went on a Sunday morning and it was not busy at all. Parking was not a problem at 9am. Great views. Happy to do this again.
JB J — Google review
It is great place to hike and walk around. I saw quails, scrub jays and acorn woodpeckers.
Michelle J — Google review
This trail leads past rustic, vine‑tangled ruins of an old ranch house, through shaded canyons, ending with light coastal views. The path is easy and well‑maintained. I paused at old stone foundations and felt history’s presence beneath large sycamores. Only a handful of other hikers were there, giving a meditative vibe. Nice breeze and bird calls framed the walk beautifully
Alexander O — Google review
Got there at 7 in the morning to get easy parking. A moderate hike for this 65 year old to get to the waterfall. Early morning fog made it a cool wonderful temp. Keep to the left and stay on Solstice Canyon road to avoid thick foliage and slippery rocks and water crossing. I loved this hike and plan to do it again.
Cannondaledave C — Google review
A beautiful canyon with lovely trails. Winter and spring is the best time to visit as the water flows really well. The loop trail is approximately 2hrs long which is well worth it as you get to climb the canyon and see beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and as far as Catalina Island. Less foot traffic in the morning.

Amazing spot, dog and handicap friendly. Really nice for families to have a picnic at, many benches and bench tables, and a kids playground. Wildlife, like squirrels, that come decently close that you can take snaps of or just admire. Please do no feed them. Trails to take down to a small beach and have a nice little hike. I, myself, did not go on the trails. But someone I know did and I did when I was younger. They are beautiful. A little burnt atm because of the Palisades fire, but overall a great place to visit. If you follow me then you know that I often examine the restrooms because I believe that if the restrooms are well taken care of then so will the rest of the facility. As you can see in my photos the restrooms were generally clean but did need some cleaning up. However, I do believe that the mess was recent and so I hope it’ll be resolved quickly. Beautiful place for picnic and swimming, parking is only $10. But restrooms are mobile plastic toilets 🙈 the only negative thing about this beach , also traffic will be super heavy if you are driving after 9am even on weekends
Kristina A — Google review
Went midday on a chilly weekday, just to have a picnic by the beach. It was empty, and quiet, and beautiful. The kids ended up playing in the water and had a great time. We saw pelicans, sand pipers, and a couple sea lions popped their heads out of the water. The only drawback is a couple of the ones who went into the water ended up getting some sort of tar stick to the bottom of their foot.
Yehonatan S — Google review
Beautiful beach! Surf or Boogie board beach. The break near shore churns rocks, making swimming entry painful and hazardous. Clean plenty of parking (paid check website for cost) 5 minute walk down to the beach from the 1st parking lot. There are some spots closer near the lifeguard stand. Stairs down to the beach. Not crowded usually.

The café boasts a stunning floral backdrop perfect for Instagram moments, complemented by eye-catching white neon signage.
Very cute coffee shop located in a shopping plaza off of Pacific Coast Highway. The coffees were very good and the avocado toast was great as well. We liked it so much we decided to come back the next day for breakfast. We again were not disappointed. Grab an outdoor table, order a croissant, a scone or an avocado toast (yes, it’s that good), and watch Malibu’s most relaxed crowd debate whether this counts as breakfast, lunch, or a lifestyle choice. The pastries are dangerously French — you’ll promise to share and instantly regret it. It’s got that effortless “I just wandered off the beach but still deserve a perfect croissant” vibe. Prices are Malibu-ish, but so is the sunshine and people-watching — and honestly, both are worth it. Pro tip: sit outside, sip slowly, and pretend you’re waiting for your yacht to be detailed

For a $30 breakfast, it was unremarkable. I got the eggs, lox, and salad on a brioche bun. None of it was seasoned, didn’t even taste like there was salt. Super overpriced. Coffee nothing special either, I had higher expectations! The staff was super kind though.

I would say as far as my experience here would go. They are okay me and my wife picked up two lattes shared a sandwich and had some baked goods. One thing I will say is their wait time can definitely be very long, so definitely anticipate that. Especially for a hot sandwich like longer than you think. I think we waited 15 to 20 minutes for the sandwich. My wife did love her sandwich. I thought it was okay and the coffee was decent. I got a oat rose cold brew and I believe my wife got a caramel latte which she liked I can definitely say the baked goods tasted better. I did enjoy my lemon loaf very much I would come back to give them another shot although I will say they can get very busy especially on the weekends so definitely factor that interior time

Ugh it’s so sad to post this. I use to go to sunlife every day. But the quality and service has declined tremendously. My boyfriend got an açaí bowl and it was serviced to him as a bowl of liquid topped with granola. Açaí is supposed to be thick like ice cream and it wasn’t. So that was a bummer. Then I got a smoothie and I asked for the consistency to be thick. I received it and it was just like his, very liquid-y like a juice. And the products weren’t sitting and melting because I was waiting patiently (as they told me it would be a 15-20 min wait bc that location is busy always). When they called my name I was there waiting and took the products asap. So there was no time for them to melt. Therefore they just made super thin and liquidy products. Such a bummer.

This is the best health smoothie shop I've ever thought of. I've only heard about this place by word of mouth, but I finally got the chance to visit it this time. First of all, think of the location of this store as a large mall with various stores clustered together. Here, not only healthy drinks but also various stores where you can spend your day productively are abundant. The smoothies here are the epitome of health. All the ingredients are fresh, and no matter what menu you choose, they generously fill the smoothie with ingredients without skimping. Of course, customization according to personal preferences is also possible. If you are interested in health, serious about dieting, and interested in delaying aging, I recommend this store.

ReeRee C — Google review
I’m a frequent SunLife customer and have visited this location several times. Since it can get quite busy, I placed my order ahead of time through the mobile app. I ordered two drinks, one of which required ingredient modifications due to sensitivities. The app made it easy to remove the two ingredients, and this was clearly noted on the cup when I picked it up. However, the drink still contained one of the ingredients - both as a topping and potentially blended inside. I flagged this with a team member at the counter, who told me I needed to remove it separately as both a topping and as an ingredient in the app. This seemed odd, since I had double checked the app and confirmed that removing an ingredient should remove it entirely. I went back and spoke to another staff member, who was much more understanding and remade the drink correctly. While I appreciated the resolution, the initial experience was disappointing especially at a place that emphasizes health and wellness. For anyone with allergies or sensitivities, I recommend ordering in person to ensure modifications are handled correctly.

Not sure how this place received such high ratings? We walked in, the place completely empty, two workers who didn’t acknowledge us. We eventually noticed there was a TV screen to order from. Food came out one at a time. My husband was half way through his wrap by the time mine came. Ordered the grilled sea bass tacos and the whole thing was drenched in beet root sauce?? Really disappointed with the food and service. Will appreciate that Gypsy Kings was the music of choice on the speakers.

This place has delicious food! I ate here while I was in the area visiting family. Lots of hummus and pita platters with salad and veggies, and great fish platters as well. Fish was very tender and well cooked. No meat or dairy. Would highly recommend even if you aren't looking for kosher food.

Ollies Duck & Dive is a gastropub with an eco-friendly focus in a vibrant neighborhood that's popular for live music and games. The menu features local wines and craft beers, along with appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The pub is always buzzing with activity on Friday and Saturday nights, as local musicians perform while guests get up close and personal to the bartenders who mix drinks like pros.
Spent 4 hours here while watching the Michigan football game. The workers were super polite and nice and checked in on us every once and awhile. The food that i had here was absolutely amazing and i enjoyed every bite of it. We didnt even need a reservation we just showed up and were seated right away.

Great tuna poke! Super good prices for happy hour! Friday’s and Saturday live music and games! Nice bar, with tv to check a game while you enjoy your meal with a cold beer! Great choice for any time of the week!

Gastropub. Chill vibe. Live music on saturdays. Very friendly staff. Roasted cauliflower is very delicious and recommend. Didn’t try the Beets but heard good things. Got the surfer burger (good but nothing great) and the bison burger, both medium rare. Bison burger is huge and tasty. Get the regular fries- very good- hand cut, chewy center, drizzle of thyme. Picture is of the bison burger Great coffee. Light, medium roast. Not burnt.

Pretty nice place to get a drink and reasonably good food. They forgot our fries and my beer until we asked for them again but they were friendly enough.

Baja style cod fish tacos are a MUST. Two per order, not your typical mini taco situation so definitely will fill you up. And the Dive Corn is a good primer.

The Surfrider Hotel is a chic and beachy boutique hotel located just across the street from Malibu's famous long break, First Point. It offers polished rooms and suites with a stylish design. The hotel provides an upscale beach house vibe with soothing minimalism and luxurious touches, including ace sea views and great surf.
What an amazing experience it was staying at this hotel. From its small, boutique aesthetic to the quaint, cozy rooms. This place was really just so relaxing and easy to love. The location is prime Malibu, with the water just a rocks throwing distance away and the full essence of Malibu with its undeniable beauty, all in one place. Corey was so hospitable and made us feel so comfortable and welcome, he went above and beyond with his efforts to make us feel right at home. We couldn’t have been happier and can’t wait to be back soon.

A wonderful gem on the pacific coast highway, right across from the Malibu Pier. Here for a concert 2 doors down, at Aviator Nation Dreamland. Enjoyed both rain and sunshine during our 2 night stay. Be aware the rooftop bar not open, but could still hang out and bring own food and drinks up there. It’s an amazing place to just chill and watch surfers. We had a ground floor room, which is nice, and stylish- and with the rooftop access made you not feel so claustrophobic. Staff very helpful and friendly, setting us up with plates, etc for our to-go food. There’s also another wonderful space to hang out- the library, just above the lobby- cozy and warm ambiance. Be aware that construction and cleanup is ongoing, with dump trucks coming and going from the Palisades fire areas, but rooms are soundproofed well. Many restaurants running on scaled-back hours still, so call ahead to confirm they are open. Glad to be able to come and support local businesses trying to recover. 😁
Shalini J — Google review
The check-in and housekeeping staff were great and we liked the aesthetic. It's right on the highway though and it's loud in the rooms so they give you ear plugs. There are cameras but no staff after 10pm and anyone can approach room doors, ground floor patios and cars. We didn't have any issues but just felt a little concerned. The rooms are very small with a small bathroom and small shower, the closet is a bar hung over the fridge and there was no luggage rack. Cell service was spotty but they offer free wifi. The wall outlets were loose and anything we plugged in just fell out. The parking lot is cramped. There were a LOT of ants in the room. We went for a drink at the rooftop bar at 6:40 but were told it was closing soon before we even got to the top of the stairs. Surfrider beach across the street had bio matter sludge where it meets the lagoon, homeless folks and the filthiest toilets I've ever seen. The hotel bedding is nice and it has some amenities but is missing some (pool, onsite gym, spa) that you usually find when a property is listed as 4-star. Looking at their peak rates, these rooms are not at all worth those prices. I wish they had a few pet friendly rooms and could offer a better cancellation policy.
Lynn S — Google review
We absolutely loved our stay here! The whole place feels like a dreamy Malibu beach house — cozy, stylish, and right by the ocean. One of the sweetest touches was having fresh coffee brought right to our room in the morning, which made waking up by the beach even more perfect. The rooftop was the highlight for us — beautiful views, relaxing vibes, and we spent so much time up there just soaking it all in. Everything about this hotel felt thoughtful and special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a charming and relaxing getaway in Malibu!
Brooke V — Google review
What an amazing place to stay!! Gorgeous spaces, beautiful rooms, a stellar view from the rooftop terrace and the BEST staff. We were treated like family from the moment we arrived. Sophie and her colleague (I’m so sorry I can’t recall her name) checked us in to a fabulous room (not only giving us the best rate they could but also an upgrade). It was absolute heaven after a long day of travel: my husband on his bike and me following in the car. We had so much fun the next morning describing an aerated iced Americano to Jack (who promptly made it) and Mallory (who captured it on her phone). Next time we visit, we hope to see it on the beverage menu! It is an incredible space, but the attention to detail and the warmth of the staff made it a five star experience. Thank you very much!!
Kathryn B — Google review
The location of The Surfrider is right across the street from the beach, boardwalk, and a paid parking lot. Free street parking is difficult to find an empty spot. The hotel’s private parking lot is small. The hotel has a relaxed beach aesthetic. The lobby Library has a cozy feel. The bar overlooking the Pacific Coast Highway and the lagoon, is a great place to absorb the gentle vibes and enjoy refreshing cocktails. I would skip their food menu, and rather get fast food next door.
Flip C — Google review
Loved our stay here!! Such a cute little hotel across the beach with a great view off the PCH and close to a lot of great beaches, shopping and restaurants in Malibu. Rooftop is the best part, with really tasty food and drinks and dessert (get the cookies!) and amazing view of the ocean. Nice room amenities as well—Parachute bathrobes and enjoyed having our coffee orders brought to our room in the morning. Will be back!

GO GIVE THE SURFRIDER SOME LOVE DURING THIS HEARTBREAKING TIME!! We knew staying in Malibu while in California for a Lumineers concert was a stretch. We booked the Surfrider not fulling understanding the devastation this community has gone through with the fires. It did not disappoint! I have passed by this hotel many times though my travels and have always been curious. So, on this trip, we went 2 hours out of the way to stay here and we were completely blown away! The staff was incredible. They walked us to our rooms, showed us around, and made the entire experience phenomenal. The hotel itself was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was upgraded to a top floor room where we had a balcony view of the ocean and the pier. Even with the PCH right outside our door, once inside, the room was quiet at absolutely cozy. This is probably the coolest hotel I've ever stayed in. Every attention to detail has been though through. So go give them some love and give the community of Malibu some love!

Alfred Coffee, located at Malibu Country Mart, is a popular spot known for its great coffee and friendly staff. The cozy location offers a variety of drinks including the popular chagaccino and quick healthy bites. Despite being small, it's worth navigating through the crowds to try their delicious breakfast burrito and vanilla oat latte. Customers praise the employees for their exceptional service and always leaving them with a smile on their face.
I came here to avoid Starbucks and to try something new . I got something that was simple a hot chocolate and honestly tasted way better than the Starbucks one. I also tried the matcha iced with strawberry and it was pretty good. I also have iced matcha latte and it was pretty good. It is a bit cheaper than Starbucks . The staff isn’t the best but they aren’t the worse either. I can careless how they look or react to me ordering I’m still come here. Update I came here today and Shadi was the best . Best customer service ever since she was nice and was multitasking!

Long wait for the worst hot chocolate ever … tasteless to say the least ! Not real chocolate at all just a syrup probably chemically engineered 🤦🏼‍♀️ don’t waste your time and money…. I should have asked for a refund but the employees didn’t look very accommodating either so I just tossed it

Stopped by while visiting Whole Foods in Malibu. Ordered a cafe latte and iced strawberry matcha latte (half sweet) as well as a few pastries. My favorite is the matcha latte, it was not too sweet and tasty. We also ordered a matcha croissant (6/10), it was just okay. The chocolate chip cookie was good.
Nora R — Google review
I picked up a couple of orders this morning and finally understand the Alfred hate. I could already feel the judging smirks the first time I went in, but the second time, the baristas completely ignored me. They didn’t even acknowledge my existence. There was a rush and they were handing out orders so I waited. After the rush, they went back to talking. I asked if the coffee that had been sitting out for a good 5 mins with no tag was for the person I was delivering to, the baristas stopped talking suddenly and rolled their eyes, pissed off. They didn’t say a single word to me. They packaged the coffee, then slid it over to me on the counter without even looking in my direction. It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review bc customers can be jerks- especially in food/cafe- but that was the most stuck in middle school energy I’ve felt since I graduated years ago. I feel really sad for you if making your customers feel bad bc you’re a barista(?!) in Malibu is your way of making yourself better. Being a mean girl isn’t cute it’s extremely embarrassing. I will never spend money here so thank you for making up my mind.

Love Alfred’s in the Country Mart! If you’re around the area, you should definitely go. One of the baristas, Gabbi, always provides the greatest customer service and always makes the best drinks. Drinks are consistent and turnout is quick. Lovely atmosphere and there’s a good amount of parking available in the area.

Sabor A Malibu is a delicious taco truck that provides American and Mexican snacks to Malibu and Los Angeles. Its owner, who has years of experience in the culinary industry, pays close attention to detail in his food and ensures that each dish is pleasing to the palate. The tacos are great, but the burrito is especially fantastic - it's filling and packed with flavor.
My standard taco stop in through Malibu now. Been here 3 times and have never had a bad taco. All the meats I have had have been tasty, and the salsas really completed them well; the green salsa was especially good, being both sweet and sour, it was pretty unique. Looking out over the cliff while eating was pretty dope. I will update to a better review when I have tried more of their options.

I recently stopped by Sabor A Food Truck in Malibu and had an absolutely fantastic experience! Their veggie burrito was a standout—generously portioned, packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients, and bursting with flavor. Friendly enough staff and the service was quick. The beachside vibe made it even better. If you’re in Malibu and craving something delicious, Sabor A is a must-visit! Highly recommend their veggie burrito for a satisfying, fresh meal.

I'm giving it a 3 for now, there were no more eggs to make a breakfast burrito. That's a big bummer. But I will say, the Malibu Burger was really good. Comes with fries. I'll update my review next time I come.

We love Mario! My family needed water while camping at Leo Carrillo but the store was closed. Mario parks there on Saturdays. He had closed up but gave me a liter of water for free! I tried to pay but he insisted. Haven’t had a chance to try the food YET. I’m sure it’s fabulous if I guy like that runs it.

Awesome made-to-order Mexican food. Thank you for the care you give. But! Man it takes long...about 20 minutes for 4 small tacos. However! The burrito was OUTSTANDING! And the salsa/sauce was amazing. Cashier could be a bit friendlier but I understand how working in a food truck all day might get tiring. Stay positive! Your food is great :)

Got to give a 4 because my burrito has more rice than the rest and I do like that they prepare the food and not have it ready like other places they have meat stacked ready. Their stake is really good. Just the service of the meal is alot of rice and I hate rice In that amount.

Surfrider Beach, located in Malibu, is a popular spot for both surfers and beach enthusiasts. With almost a mile of ocean to enjoy, visitors can swim, surf, or simply watch the locals catch some waves. This iconic surfing location has been a go-to spot since the 1940s and is known for its legendary surf breaks. While it may not offer a secluded beach experience due to its popularity, it remains an ideal destination for water sports and surfing.
One of my favorite surfing beaches for so many reasons! It seems to be the most popular surfing spot in the area because of good waves! Because they roll in at angles to the shore, surfers can return to their waiting spots via sand beach path, or around to wade thru shallow water. The beach with surf is clean and accessible, has lifeguards present during the daytime and is designated for surfing! In addition, there’s several parking options, from street parking to lots with attendants, local businesses and shopping centers. Public restrooms may be found by the lifeguard station and at the outhouse of the Adamson House Museum. Waves are fairly good for surfing and boogie boarding. When everyone’s spaced in consideration of others, the effect of multiple surfers going up top simultaneously per given wave is awe-inspiring, as if all to ride with every set! Newcomers and newbie’s may survey the waterfront from the parking lot, as to best fit in with the camaraderie for optimal enjoyment! Surfrider experienced boarders may have regular spots to wait and hang out together. Thus crowding conflicts are minimized, as the unspoken etiquette is understood and respected!
Jim K — Google review
Great beach for surfing. Limited swimming area. Bathrooms are full flush type. Next to Malibu Pier and nice restaurant / across street as well as on the pier.
Rick G — Google review
Loved this beach. Great spots for getting in the water safely and not big waves throwing you around. Next to the Malibu Pier which makes it more fun to enjoy the view around. Restaurants are at a walking distance so no problem to eat something quick and come back. Couple of lifeguard shacks. People who were enjoying the ocean were decent and well behaved so I feel pretty safe to come back with my kids next time.

Angela J — Google review
Great beach for long boarding , chilling on the beach or swimming. The waves usually are usually not too big on the swimming side, so it’s easy to get in. Great surfer vibes. Beautiful sunset. Parking: Parking can be difficult on the weekends, but I have always been able to find street parking or in the Surfrider beach lot ($15) or the Lagoon state beach lot (around $3.50 per hour). Eating: There is Malibu farms at the pier near by, aviator nation, or other spots. I have not been to a restaurant that has really impressed me there.

Hotel June Malibu, located in Central Malibu, offers a unique stay with its history as a haven for musicians, writers, and artists. The property features tastefully decorated rooms with modern art and outdoor patios with hammocks. Guests can enjoy the only hotel pool in town and take in the view from the terrace and garden. The hotel also hosts a daily complimentary reception and offers continental breakfasts for a fee.
Really enjoy this hotel. It’s quaint and very comfortable. Great coffee in the morning. Slightly loud cause right next to highway 1 but not bad and good value! Close to point Dume and other lively spots in dreamy Malibu
Hannah K — Google review
Considering there aren’t many hotels to choose from in this area, Hotel June is a fine option. The rooms are cute and it seems they make a huge effort in the little details to make up for the location right on PCH and strict Malibu ordinances shutting the pool down at sunset. The staff is so incredibly sweet, polite, and helpful. I think the perfect price point for the larger rooms would be $375-$400/night and smaller rooms $275-$300/night. It’s nice to be so close to a grocery store and cafe, though not safe to walk on the side of PCH. But you could get dinner at an Italian restaurant across the street! Mattresses were really nice for a hotel! All in all, it was a nice experience. Just slightly pricey for amenities offered.
Caroline B — Google review
Unprofessional and Unhelpful Experience with Front Desk Staff Robyn!!!!!! I called Hotel June Malibu today at 4:30pm to inquire about availability for a reservation tonight or tomorrow. Unfortunately, I was met with extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism from a woman named Robyn who answered the phone. When I politely asked if they rented by the hour (a common question for flexibility), she abruptly said no and tried to hang up. I then asked about overnight availability after 6 PM, and again she quickly tried to end the call without offering help. When I asked about tomorrow night instead, she started checking, but refused to answer any other questions about the property and said a manager would have to call me back — without even asking for my name or number. When I said I’d wait on the line, she claimed no manager was available and then hung up on me without resolving anything. I called back four times, and no one answered. It’s baffling that someone in a hospitality role would treat a potential guest this way. Robyn’s tone and behavior were dismissive and unprofessional. I hope management addresses this issue seriously, as this experience left a terrible impression and made me reconsider ever staying here!
Kristal K — Google review
Given that it is Malibu, cold and noisy are forgivable; fifty and run down are not. The bathroom door left me unwilling to touch it with my open palm so I used my foot or elbow; it was that unclean. Similarly, the rug was worn, matted and stained. The lack of any place to put luggage, other than on the floor, is not consonant with a place intended for travelers; really? The outdoor seating cushions were so soiled I wouldn't consider sitting on them. The plastic strip under the shower door is moldy and the backsplash at the sink sported toothpaste and food particles from previous guests flossing.
Billyreinecke — Google review
I arrived at Hotel June last night. I made the mistake of booking two nights without confirming the price. The price quoted on the internet yesterday morning was $256 a night. When I arrived early in the evening the room price was $512 a night X 2. This hotel is basically a motel, except there is no TV, just pay per view movies. No network news, sports, etc. I made a big mistake booking here. I should have read the reviews, Yelp, etc. Lesson learned! Stay away!
Dennis N — Google review
Enjoyed a wonderful weekend with friends at the Hotel June Malibu. The rooms were sparse but stylish with nice toiletries and a stocked snack fridge. Beds were very comfy and room was clean. The staff were so kind - helping us get extra towels, turn the pool on etc. We are breakfast people and the tea/coffee plus gourmet pastries/juices in the morning were perfect for starting the day. The hotel is right on the PCH but the noise was not bad at all. And the overall vintage vibe of the building and lobby was fun and unique. Garden was perfect for enjoying a bit of outside time. We all agreed we would stay there again if in Malibu!

Stayed here back in June, so Hotel June, in June 🤣 , was sweet, came back multiple times, and requested room #5. Perfect. Vibes, high class, quality. Unless you own a Malibu Mansion, this is the 2nd best option to stay in Malibu. Thanks for the great memories, and fun Atmosphere, I will be back.

The staff are informed and friendly. Bare bones accommodations. I can see why this place is promoted as a place for meditation workshops. The transformation from an older cinder block motel to trendy chic is great. Unfortunately, the lighting (in the rooms) is not task lighting. The light in the bathroom wasn't very bright. I kept going to the daylight window and the mirror on the bathroom door to see ( that was a plus!). Breakfast was not included, but it was nice to find croissants and baguettes as well as freshly made peach jam. Unfortunately, the second day, the baguettes were from the day before; a bit chewy. Patio area for breakfast and relaxing was lovely. We didn't use the pool, though it was lovely and private. It is conveniently located to everything in Malibu. Just expected more for the hefty price tag.

Nestled along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway, Tavern 1 Grill & Tap House PCH Malibu is a charming eatery that beautifully blends rustic charm with modern comfort. Housed in one of Malibu's historic buildings, its inviting wood and brick interior, complemented by original early 1900s tiles and a cozy covered patio, sets the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere buzzes with energy as live music fills the air every Friday night.
One of the best restaurants. Great menu. Burgers to lentil quinoa salad. A must if you are in Malibu or cruising the Pacific Coast Highway. Great beers on tap also.

Excellent food! Our favorites are the tri-tip sandwich and bbq half chicken. The meat is fresh, tender, and slow cooked with great sauce. They've added a few top-shelf salads to the menu, well worth trying. We love how they saved the old Malibu tile and brick. Comfortable little bar. Owners and staff are casual, attentive, but not in your face. One of Malibu's little gems.

I was there on the 2nd night they were open and my friend and I went by earlier to check out the menu and met Marco the Owner. We came back later that day for dinner and Marco remembered us and made us feel right at home. The food was wonderful and everyone did everything they could to make our experience fun and delicious. It was! Going back as soon as I can for another dinner or lunch! I highly recommend Tavern 1

Our drinks were great, but we wanted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. But there are sea gnats everywhere and even though I had a coaster to cover my drink, I still had to fish out gnats from my glass at least 5 times. Otherwise a fine place, just make sure to sit inside.

Two other couples there on a Friday for lunch did not bode well and we should have turned around and left. The food was not good. Meat was too salty and felt processed or maybe frozen. Come on! You have to stand out to be able to make it or at least do a couple of things really well. Was mediocre at best...won't be back, sorry. We were looking forward to it...

We had excellent service here. We were traveling and had a dog with us but they let us bring the dog in and brought us a water bowl for him without us asking for anything. They had plenty of beers to choose from and great snacks to keep us going.

Outstanding chopped salad. They mix ranch dressing with their BBQ sauce for a light, yet savory tang. Chef hits the bunt cake with ice cream, hot fudge and lots of fruit and whipped cream out if the park. We'll done Tavern 1 Team.
