Event venue
Shoal Bay Country Club offers a quintessential Australian pub experience with its stunning bay views, outdoor seating, and lively entertainment. The venue underwent a refurbishment in 2016, giving it a Bondi-esque vibe with pastel couches and striped umbrellas against the waterfront backdrop. Visitors can enjoy delicious cocktails served in carafes while indulging in sensational meals. The establishment is known for its Neapolitan-style woodfired pizzas and also features a downstairs cafe called Mermaids.
We recently held our 2025 sales conference at Shoal Bay Country Club, and I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their hospitality and professionalism. The event was a success, and everyone enjoyed their stay over the week. The conference room was the perfect size, spotless, and provided a very comfortable working environment. Breakfast and lunch were fresh and delicious. Everything else was excellent, the staff were attentive, professional, and played a big part in making the event run smoothly. We are very grateful and look forward to working with Shoal Bay Country Club again in the future.

I came from Sydney for the weekend it was my second visit, and I loved it even more this time. Penny, who looked after me, she was so professional, friendly, and attentive. Her warm smile and kind attitude honestly made my day. The steak was delicious, the coffee was great, and the whole place was bright, clean, and beautifully designed. The manager was also very welcoming and genuine. Everything was just perfect definitely one of the best places I’ve visited in the area . I’ll be coming back for sure!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🫶

We had a beautiful yummy meal with great service - Tayla was such a lovely waitress! Super sweet, always smiling and made us feel right at home. The location was also perfect, thanks team for being so awesome — we’ll definitely be back!

We had dinner upstairs at the Country Club Hotel and it was such a great experience! Tegan, the manager, was absolutely amazing — so friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. You can really tell she cares about the guests and runs things beautifully. And a big shoutout to the lovely girl with the New Zealand accent — she was just as fantastic! So kind, helpful, and full of good vibes all night. Thanks to the whole team for making it such an easy, relaxed, and enjoyable night. We’ll definitely be back!

Shoal Bay Country Club is one of the most beautiful seaside spots to relax and enjoy great food in Port Stephens. The restaurant has a lively yet cozy atmosphere, with stunning ocean views that make every visit feel like a holiday. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes — from fresh seafood and wood-fired pizza to juicy burgers and refreshing cocktails. Everything is well-prepared and beautifully presented. The service is friendly and efficient, and the staff make you feel genuinely welcome. Whether you’re here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the vibe is always warm and inviting. It’s also a great place to enjoy a drink with friends while watching the sunset over Shoal Bay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area — perfect for both casual dining and special occasions!

Had the most amazing service by a young girl called grace. We came in for breakfast that morning then she served us again at our friends wedding. The venue is amazing from the food to the venue to the staff will definitely be coming back

Ordered the seafood basket for two, very disappointed the panko crumb prawns not too bad but so much calamari and over supply of chips and some of the fish escaped from the batter for $72 we could only eat a small portion. Just not nice. The only happy part was meeting Lisa she is a delight
Glenda W — Google review
Undoubtably the number one venue in Port Stephens for food and entertainment. Also attached is the Ramada, a high-end accommodation venue. This place has the best views and the best bands out of anywhere in Port Stephens. Book lunch at the bistro upstairs and check out the chicken wings and cocktails.

Tomaree Head Summit walk

4.9
(1359)
Hiking area
Scenic spot
The Tomaree Head Summit walk is a short but steep 2.2km-return trail that leads to lookout platforms offering expansive views of the bay and surrounding islands. The track climbs 161 meters, passing World War II gun emplacements before reaching the summit lookout. It's a well-paved and maintained trail, with the first half being mostly paved and then transitioning into stairs and steel walkways leading to the top.
Family friendly walk.. for all ages. Exhilarating views.. make the climb worthwhile! Open 24hrs.. but no light up, so you might want to plan during daytime. Recommend timing it catch the sunset from the peak.
Mustafa B — Google review
It's a must-do if you are in the Port Stephens area. Get up early and take the walk up to Tomaree Headland and watch the sunrise. Be sure to take your camera and a drink bottle. It's not a challenging walk and can be done in under 30 minutes with small kids, the view is amazing and you can even see dolphins and whales at the right time of year. Enjoy the walk everyone and be sure to see the old gun mounts on the way back down
Benny C — Google review
Don't be scared of this monster. It was easily tamed. Yes it's high and yes it's steep to climb, but once you get past the red brick path at the bottom, the stairs the rest of the way are quite easy. You get plenty of breathers along the way due to the amount of people coming down, so you should be fine if you have at least a little fitness. Excellent views from the top, obviously. If you are lucky you'll see eagles, whales and maybe even the odd fighter jet.
Ste W — Google review
It’s not a difficult walk and can be finished fairly quickly, but it does require a moderate level of fitness—might be a bit challenging for first-timers. The track is well maintained, with amazing views along the way. Took us about 35 minutes return.
Cebin S — Google review
It's a little tough but doable for most. A 15-min walk along a red-brick pathway leads to the base of a series of well built steps. A signage says the summit is 500 m from there. A mix of stone steps and mesh steps (288 in total) from here leads up to sweeping breath-taking views. It's so worth the time and effort. Return was fast and the brick pathway took hardly 5 mins downhill. A bit over an hour including photography and rest was enough for us. It's similar to The Neck of Tassie or The Hawk Lookout near Forster.

🌄 Tomaree Head Summit Walk – 5/5 If you’re tossing up whether to do this walk, stop scrolling and just do it – your legs might scream, but your eyes will thank you! 🥾 The trail starts off by letting you know it’s not here to mess around – it’s steep. Like, “why am I already sweating in the first 2 minutes?” steep. Then come the stairs… lots and lots of stairs. You may question your life choices halfway up, but trust me, the payoff is so worth it. The views at the summit are absolutely breathtaking – panoramic coastal magic that looks like a Windows wallpaper, but real. 🏖️ I could sit up there for hours soaking it all in (and recovering from the climb). I’d honestly do this walk again and again – it’s that spectacular. Pro tip: Wear proper shoes, bring water, and prepare your glutes for a workout. But do NOT miss this if you get the chance. Total highlight of my trip! 💪
Shona M — Google review
Love this walk! The view at the top is stunning on a nice day. The track has been upgraded in parts (not sure when) with pavers which is so much better than how it was years ago (dirt which became mud). Highly recommend if you are fit and able to endure stairs and a steeper incline. Gets your heart rate up!
Stephanie R — Google review
Don’t be put off by the reviews of it being a tough walk. We haven’t really been exercising for a year and it took us about 25 mins to get to the top, yes its all incline and a lot of stairs but its definitely doable for all fitness levels if you take your time and the view from the top is BEAUTIFUL which makes all of the out of breath worth it.

Tomaree Mountain

Mountain cable car
Tomaree Mountain, located in New South Wales, offers guided tours to its summit where visitors can enjoy breathtaking ocean views and spot marine life. The mountain features a relatively easy hike with some slippery paths and stairs leading to the top. The journey takes about 2 hours round trip, including stops for photos and resting at the summit. From there, hikers can admire stunning panoramic views of Zenith Beach and other surrounding bays.
It's a must do to walk to the top of Tomaree lookout when visiting Shoal Bay. It takes about 20 minutes give or take the fitness factor. Good paths and metal stairs and walkways in places. The views is well worth the effort.

Breathtaking sunset views. Even as someone who's not very athletic, I found the climb enjoyable because the scenery kept getting more stunning the higher I went. Can't wait to try a sunrise hike next time.

A spectacular view of the Port Stephens region with breathtaking and picturesque views of the ocean, shoal bay, fern Bay, etc. It's one of the destinations of the Tomaree Coastal walk, and you won't be disappointed at all. Only a short walk from the shoal bay, but car park can fill up pretty quick.

Beautiful spot! Great hike with 360° views of Nelson Bay and the ocean. A must-do if you’re in the area.

Stunning lookout, really good path the whole way up. Only took us like 20minutes but it was an exhausting 20 minutes. Definitely worth it tho!

Half our group was ready to fake an injury just to turn back. Legs were jelly, spirits were low… but then we reached the top. Boom—views for days! Worth every dramatic sigh and break. 11/10 would do it again!
David G — Google review
It’s a good 30 minute walk to the lookout from the car park. The trail is steep and does involve steps. Very suitable for family groups and fitness walkers. Spectacular views from the top.
Terese H — Google review
The magnificent views are your reward for walking up this mountain. Although I have bad knees I made it to the top. The stairs have been recently upgraded and make walking up easier. Parking can be a little difficult but there is parking leading up to the mountain so grab one when you see it. Also so extra parking on the hill to the right when you get to the end of the road.

Nestled on a 175-ft. headland overlooking Port Stephens, the Inner Light Tea Rooms is housed in a lighthouse-keeper's 1800s cottage, offering spectacular views of the bay. Visitors can enjoy a delightful meal while taking in the breathtaking scenery. The cafe has garnered praise for its great food and fantastic outdoor ambiance, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike.
Located at 5a Lighthouse Road, Nelson Bay, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 A wonderful place to visit, the Tea Room is so welcoming and the views are absolutely breathtaking. There is plenty of outdoor seating, some covered by umbrellas etc, others not. There is a small room where you can sit but it’s only got approximately 4 tables. There’s also a lovely little museum attached showcasing memorabilia from the Volunteer Marine Rescue NSW. This is in a beautiful cottage (Lighthouse Keepers Cottage). There’s also a wonderful gift shop with a great selection of souvenirs etc to pick from. There’s plenty of birds to see while enjoying your meal at the cafe, they can try and pinch your food so there is bottles of bird spray provided to deter them. I was part of a large group and the staff were wonderful, very accommodating and friendly. Willing to help in any way. I would definitely recommend. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Last school holidays we went there and couldn’t get a table as they were fully booked out, recent school holidays we called and booked a table two days earlier and we were able to get in! The cafe is a great place to enjoy the sun! Make sure you check out their trading hours. The food and service was amazing! We also tried their specialty scones with fresh cream and jam! It was delicious! Peaceful but tiny and cozy place to be!
Zafar F — Google review
The restaurant offers a spectacular view and is easily accessible, which makes it a great spot to visit. The food was decent — not exceptional, but enjoyable enough. However, one major disappointment was that although the advertised closing time was 2:30 PM, the kitchen closed at 2:00 PM without any notice. This caught us off guard when we tried to place one more order. It would be great if the management ensures the staff adhere to the stated hours or at least inform guests in advance. Many people visit from far and wide, and such inconsistencies can leave a poor impression.

We went to visit Nelson bay lighthouse and went to the cafe for brunch. The service was good, the ladies worked very hard, and price of the food was reasonable. The beef burger and the chicken wrap were very generous in serving. I also ordered beetroot latte, which was nice too. The view was beautiful. Will come back again

Was prompty served and had a good spot facing the waters. Single scone $8 and coffee $5.9....plus nearly 2% card fee. Definitely paying higher for the location and its views.

We enjoyed sitting overlooking the sea while having a scone. I recommend trying a scone from here. The scone was large and moist on the inside with a side jam and cream. Rainbow lorikeets were in the trees.

Hats off to the chef today ! Food is served immaculate with such care and presentation. Such friendly service upon arrival. The cafe is so tidy and so inviting ! Such a beautiful atmosphere and vibe at the inner light tea rooms, with an amazing view. The food is so fresh and the coffee was delicious. It was a humid day and the staff were still smiling and were so helpful thank you. Little Beach Reserve, located near Halifax Holiday Park, offers a tranquil and safe swimming experience for little ones due to its north-west facing position sheltered by Nelson Head. The beach features calm waters with no ocean currents, making it ideal for families. Visitors can enjoy a small crescent of sand flanked by fishing jetties and a grassy area equipped with children's play facilities, perfect for picnics and barbecues.
Little Beach at Nelson Bay is our favourite beach ⛱️ we go every year to soak up the sun 🌞 and have a swim at the pool like beach. It's safe, serene, the water so clear and clean, and not overcrowded. We love ❤️ it and go at least twice a year, in February and then by Easter, we catch up with friends and make new ones, it's a beautiful part of Port Stephens, so much to do and see, we highly recommend this beach and the Bay all year round 👍💯⛱️🌞😘❤️👏

Fantastic beach for the little ones. We have a 2 and 5 yr old. Not many waves. Clean and tidy beach. Toilets close-by. Little play area close-by. Big tree to sit under for shade. Quite a lot of picnic benches and single benches. Parking can be tricky and pricey. Shark nets in place.
Amber H — Google review
The best part of our visit here was seeing the pelicans begging for fish scraps. They gather around when fishermen are at the cleaning table by the beach. We spent a couple of hours sitting on the beach and it was peaceful and beautiful. Overall a nice place to visit.

A beautiful little beach to bring children for a paddle/swim and a play on the playground equipment. They can walk on the little jet and view the fish swimming about, and you can enjoy a picnic as well.

Beautiful quiet beach with boat ramp, jetty, bbq, bathrooms, play equipment and even a purpose built wheel chair ramp into the calm water. Perfect for families with small children. Plenty of excellent accommodation options nearby. Well stocked kiosk nearby.

This is a fantastic beach, a local favourite for picnics, especially at sunsets. Also some fishing here and a boat ramp at the end where the pelicans hang out. Not an ocean facing beach so no big waves which is nice for the kids. The grass area is really nice for picnics and BBQs. There are also good shower and toilet facilities and a gas BBQ. Quite a bit of parking too. Also a nice childrens’ play area. Just up from the beach is a great local fav restaurant and bar (Little Beach Boat House) which is an awesome venue. Sunsets are awesome for 2 reasons. The sunset itself is beautiful and you’d be pretty unlucky if you don’t spot the local dolphins.

Nestled on the edge of Tomaree National Park, Nelson Bay Golf Club offers a unique golfing experience known as the Bush Course by the Sea. The club features three nine-hole courses that wind through lush subtropical forest, providing a challenge with narrow and undulating fairways. Visitors can often spot wallabies, koalas, and kangaroos while playing.
We went for a sunset kangaroo tour with volunteer guide John. It was AMAZING!! He brought us so close and had so much knowledge about the kangaroos, and was eager to answer all of our questions!! This club respects the Kangaroos natural habitat while still happily sharing this hidden gem. Very affordable and worth it!!! Would highly recommend.

Hubby and myself would just like to say a massive thank you to Seva, Lucas, and all waitstaff and barstaff for making our night special. The food was absolutely delicious, all our guests have confirmed. The room was set up so beautifully. We had the most amazing night and we would’ve been lost without Seva, she truly outdone herself, staying all day and night to make sure we were 100% okay with everything and we couldn’t be more grateful.

We only had time to play the first front 9. Great looking course. Bunkers placed well. Greens were quite slow. But we had a good time. Some really spectacular looking holes and accuracy off the tee a must.

I ate here on Saturday for lunch. I ordered the seafood plate and mixed vegetables. The seafood plate in my picture was $42.90 and contained six pieces of seafood and a packet dressing for my salad. This meal should have been called the chips and salad plate. Aside from the fish being cooked perfectly the value for money here is poor. The plate contained two prawns, three calamari rings, a piece of barramundi, with chips and a garden salad. One would think that if you’re paying $40 for a meal that contains salad, the dressing would be something that you can’t buy off the shelf at Woolworths. The mixed vegetables were nicely prepared. Loads of flavour and fresh, for $12. The venue itself is situated on perfectly manicured grounds of the golf course which was perhaps the highlight of my experience here. I won’t be returning to eat here based on value.

Had a hit on my own on a recent holiday in the area. A lot of rain in recent weeks, it was a modified layout with some makeshift greens. Missed the sign on the first hole and copped a spray from a greenskeeper for going down the wrong side of the fairway. The cart shut down immediately and asked me to reverse, but it didn’t stop him giving me an earful. Thought it was way over the top for an honest mistake and ruined the experience.

Had a great lunch here. Ordered two burger and beer deals. Theyhad a real waygu beef patty and really tasty chips. The Tanya Earth bowl was one of the tastiest vegetarian meals I’ve had in a while. The flavours were so moreish. The sweet potato with maple syrup was unforgettable. I am still raving about how lovely it was. The waiter was chatty and entertaining. Loved it

Nice course. Shortish. Good variety of holes. Some water damage at the moment. Kangaroos. Lovely large clubhouse with excellent views . A pleasant experience
Steven G — Google review
The food was amazing. Tanya the head chef has a secret recipe in the kitchen for this special chilli infused sauce with lemon and garlic and ginger and it’s so spectacular that she could bottle it up and sell it in all the supermarkets. But she’s too humble and chooses to stay local, with the secret remaining local to the Nelson bay residents only.

Fish and chips takeaway
Aussie Bob's Fish & Chips is a long-standing establishment located just a short walk from the beautiful Shoal Bay. With over 100 years of history, this no-frills shop offers classic beachside takeaway fare including battered, crumbed or barbecued fish, hot chips, potato scallops, prawn cutlets, and more. The simple yet delicious menu captures the essence of traditional fish and chip shops.
Our personal favorite spot to get our hit of seafood. We drive all the way from Raymond Terrace to Aussie Bobs, as in our opinion it’s well worth the drive and great quality, consistency and always friendly service. Would suggest Aussie Bobs to anyone visiting Port Stephens!

Portion size was great considering the price. S+p calamari was fresh but their customer service and the cleanliness of the venue let them down. Tables were dirty and staff were very rude. It was a 30+ min wait and we were only told once we ordered and it must be the only fish and chip shop in the world which charges extra for lemon.
Emma B — Google review
I basically love everything on our plate. We ordered a platter which (if I remember correctly) had 2 types of fish, prawns, squid and chips. Nice ample table and benches, I think parking was good for 2-3 cars. Highly recommended if you're in the area. This is "Aussie Fish and Chips"... they don't eat it with vinegar.

Great food and even better service! The salt and pepper squid was beautiful and tender. The lovely gentleman that served us went above and beyond for us and even at 11am the place was humming. A Nelson Bay treasure! Thanks Aussie Bobs!

I don’t normally eat deep fried, but when in Rome… I tried the seafood basket. Chips - not that crispy 😒 Fish - could have done with another 30sec in the oil. It was a bit…meh 😕 The other stuff was fine tho. 🙂 Friendly enough staff. 🙂

I had a fish cocktail, potato scallop and calamari ring. They were all tasty and I really liked them! The staff brought my meal to my seat. There was a bit of a wait as they started making the food after ordering, but I was satisfied that I was able to eat them freshly made.👍

Superb! Best battered snapper, sea scallops and chips that we've had anywhere in Australia! Reasonably priced, good sized serves, quick friendly service.
Judy T — Google review
This is what a true fish and chip shop should be. You wont find exceptional service or a fancy menu here. What you will find is hearty fish and chips how they should be. I have had fish and chips all across NZ and Australia so I have big expectations when it comes to fish and chips. Aussie Bobs really did deliver. The plan was to order and take it down to the beach, but the wind was cold and it was getting dark so we decided to 'dine in', which was a big patio area with large picnic tables. At the time there were a few other tables of families, one table of what looked like a group of friends, and a few couples. In addition to the tables, there were locals standing waiting for their takeaway orders - this is always a good sign when locals eat here too. After you have ordered and paid, you will be given a number. When your food is ready your number will be called, or they will bring your food out to you if you are dining in. As much as the burgers looked tempting, I decided to stick to the classic fish and chips, though I did get a spring roll and a battered sav on the side. The fish was good, cooked just how I like, and the chips were good. If I was to be fussy, they could have done with more salt BUT they had thought of that and they give you sachets of salt with your meal. It makes sense for you to add more as you can't salt off if there is too much. One thing I did not check is if they had had offered chicken salt. The spring roll was very tasty. The portion of fish and chips was very generous for what I paid. I got the side dishes because I have been burnt before at other fish and chip stores with tiny portions walking away still hungry, but that will not happen here. Overall I really enjoyed my food at Aussie Bobs. It certainly quenched my craving for a good feed of fish and chips.

Bluewater Grill is a casual restaurant with a dedicated kids' room and stunning views, making it an ideal spot for mothers' groups, day-trippers, and couples. It offers gluten-free menu items and provides excellent service. Additionally, guests can enjoy a round of golf before or after dining at this establishment. While the prices may be on the higher side for pub-style food, the attentive service compensates for it. One highly recommended dish is the s+p squirt.
Lovely restaurant. Really nice food and the restaurant has a great view of the golf course. It’s a lovely place for both food or drinks. The steak was great and the service is efficient and speedy. Family friendly and a great place to spend the evening, you can see kangaroos from the window!

Amazing views over Golf course, excellent food and friendly service. The menu has lots of options and meals are big (needed a takeaway container, which they were more than happy to provide!). Will definitely be back. We had the lamb & vegetable pot pie and the Mediterranean vegetable salad with chicken.

Had prawn salad with coconut risotto and chicken tenderloin. The taste is quite unique. Feels very healthy 😆. Great scenery overlooking the golf course.

A beautiful lunch today. The food was delicious but very limited for vegetarian options that are gluten free. And quite expensive but it was delicious.
NiCole R — Google review
Nice light and airy atmosphere overlooking the golf course. You are escorted to your table, but then you need to order and pay at the counter in front of the kitchen. Similarly, you need to get your drinks from the main bar outside the restaurant. The food is delivered to your table. The servings are generous, and the meals were well-presented and tasty. The waitress was attentive and de-cluttered our table progressively. Empty tables were reset quickly.

My wife and I brought our 12 month old and 2.5 year old here for the last 3 nights in a row. The meals are fresh creative and delicious! The kids are looked after with a kids pack and ice cream. The kids sausages and veggies are a big winner - more places should have this as an option for kids.

Nestled in a picturesque corner of the marina, Blueys Restaurant + Bar is a delightful spot that beautifully marries Australian and Mediterranean flavors. Diners can indulge in an array of mouthwatering dishes, from barramundi to antipasto and mushrooms. Breakfasts are particularly praised for their quality and presentation, with standout items like pancakes and strong coffee that arrive promptly. The atmosphere is enhanced by stunning views of the harbor, making it an ideal pre-cruise stop or leisurely lunch destination.
We were blessed with fabulous weather to enjoy dining outdoors. There was 4 ladies and we were enjoying a girls weekend away so tried a few places but by far Blueys breakfast was the best. We all enjoyed our meals . The young girl who served us was fabulous , friendly and looked like she loved her job 👍 We will definitely return

Had lunch here today. We’ve been 3 times before but never had a chance to review. As far as location is concerned you’d be hard pressed to find something better. It’s a beautiful corner of the marina with loads of shade and a large chess board in front. Their breakfasts and coffees are great. However our lunch was not up to their usual standard. We had fish tacos that looked amazing but the soft tacos didn’t feel fresh and the fish was quite tasteless. The service was really good. Big smiles all round and very helpful. So for the food today I’d have to offer up a 3/5 but with past experiences, good service and great location I’d have to give it a 4/5.

Great location and views. Had breakfast here and it was really good, hot and care taken to present it well. Service at the counter and by wait staff was friendly. Coffee is nice, stronger style bean and came out very promptly. I have them a 4 but it's probably a 4.4 in my opinion, so give them a go! All in all good location, clean, fair prices and nice staff. I read some of the other reviews and I really can't fault the staff or say they are rude so it's a thumbs up from me.
Shane G — Google review
Breakfast at Blueys could of been more enjoyable if staffs could of been more friendly to customers but unfortunately that was not the case. Eggs bendict with bacon, mushrooms, hash browns were all addons totalling just a shy of under $40 for eggs benedict it was the most expensive eggs benedict i have ever eaten lol. Nevertheless it tasted great. The salmon eggs benedict tasted very salty so therefore told the waitress but then again it just seemed waitress didnt care less.

Stopped in here for lunch . Great views of the harbour and close to shops in walking distance. Prices are variable to what you order. The staff were nice. Seating outside or inside along the shore. Parking is all metered to tourists if you live here you dont have to feed the Meyer. Cost us 20 dollars for an hour and a half. Nice to sit and relax.

Oh my goodness, Bluey's is so good! The food is amazing, there's a lovely view of the marina and the staff are super! This dog friendly restaurant on the water is close to the shopping precinct, parks and parking (keep in mind that most parking is paid parking!) I had lunch here with my best friend and my 2 dogs, there's plenty of outdoor seating, covered and uncovered as you please. We ordered the barramundi fish and chips, the crispy pork belly and two iced chocolates; beautifully presented and served in great time. They also have a comprehensive beverage menu to suit all tastes. Thank you team, I hope to dine here when I'm back in Nelson Bay 😁

Yesterday, I dined at Shoal Bay and stumbled upon a Kebab establishment called Mediterranean Kings Kebabs. The proprietor delivered exceptional customer service and shared that his family has been honing their kebab-making skills for generations. Without a doubt, it was the most delectable kebab I have ever had. I indulged in a variety of options including mixed meat kebabs, chicken burgers, falafel kebabs, and crispy chips.
For over 50 years I’ve been enjoying Mediterranean food, specifically Greek, Turkish and Lebanese food. For the first time in my life, today, I had a doner kebab. Why did I deprive myself of this taste sensation for so long? It was absolutely delicious. I’ve been to Kings Kebabs before to have fish and chips, which were also good but they don’t compare to the glory of the kebab! I was also greatly impressed with the service. We ordered as a takeaway and were sitting in the sun outside the shop waiting. Instead of hearing our order number called out the young woman brought our food out to us. Lovely! We’ll very definitely be back but we’ll wait until school holidays have finished. Thank you for a delightful lunch.

Located beneath Hotel Nelson, The Little Nel is a charming café that offers a delightful setting for a leisurely brunch in its sunlit courtyard. With its picturesque views of the marina, it's a great spot to savor breakfast while watching dolphin tours depart.
Great vibe, coffee and breakfast. Lots of staff for the busy breakfast rush to feed the hungry locals and tourists alike. Tea and coffee were excellent as were the crepes and bacon and egg roll. Dani was our friendly server and worked with ease as it got busier, always smiling. Delicious end to our holiday. Thank you kindly 😁🙏

We went to the cafe for breakfast. The cafe is located outside of Hotel Nelson. The decor and the atmosphere were good. We order the Nelson special, burritos and 2 coffees. The coffees came out quite fast, but not sure why my matcha latte was in the paper cup? The waiters were quite busy, so I didn’t want to bother them. However we had to wait at least 25 mins for our meals, the waiter and I made an eye contact before I was going to hassle her about our meals. The serving of Nelson special was generous for $29. The bacon in burrito was a bit salty, and it could do with some more salad or vegetables. The coffee was nice though.

We came in towards end of service for lunch and the food was excellent. The prawn linguine and the acai bowl were both delicious and great value. Our food arrived quickly and we never felt rushed. Every time we come back to Nelson Bay, we drop in here for a bite and have never been disappointed.

We stopped by The Little Nel Cafe and really enjoyed our breakfast! We ordered the Shishito Scrambled Eggs and Eggs Benedict, and both were delicious. The shishito scrambled eggs had a nice, mild kick from the peppers and were creamy and well-seasoned, a fresh twist on regular scrambled eggs. The Eggs Benedict was classic and tasty, with perfectly poached eggs and a rich hollandaise sauce that wasn’t too heavy. The vibe of the cafe was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed morning. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend for a chill breakfast spot in town.

This breakfast place was one of the recommended places to go to when we're in Nelson Bay. So we decided to give it a go, apart from slow service the food was good. We ordered some items through the counter while waiting, but even after we got a table and informed the table no, they still served the coffee in a takeaway container with no table service. Recommended: Smashed avocado on sourdough.

My new favourite place @thelittlenel in #portstephens Nelson bay. With a brilliant menu it was hard to choose and plates so big I had to takeaway my leftovers. Food, coffee and juice was delicious and I love the little touch of having throws to keep warm while we ate in their beautiful patio setting. Looking forward to visiting over and over and making my way through the exciting menu choices.

Alpesh K — Google review
As recent new residents in Nelson Bay we have tried Little Nel on five occasions, with very mixed experiences. Visit 1, the wait time for a coffee was far too long. Visit 2, the coffee came on time but the banana bread didn’t come at all until we asked at the counter. Visit 3 was lunch and that was ok, good food and service was swift, but asking for a carafe for the water was problematic for the staff and when they found one rather than bring it to the table, the server just pointed to the water station and said you pick it up yourself. Visit 4, food and service were good, but it was a Tuesday and a quiet lunch. However, visit 5 exposed the lack of customer service. We have a small dog so can only sit in a few locations outside. But the floor was messy with plant debris. We asked if they had a broom to clear a bit for him to sit under the table and they said no, so we moved to a different table and because he then sat on the bench with us they said he couldn’t sit there and had to go on the floor (the floor that they couldn’t be bothered to sweep quickly). So we left. Unfortunately the attitudes of the young staff is lacking, with very little care for the customer that would have spent close to $100 that day. Although we want to support local businesses, this is an example of one that must lift its game to build loyalty. Sadly, that’s the last time we will try Little Nel. For anyone wanting breakfast or lunch I would suggest The Home Interior or Magnolia where the food and service are consistently excellent.

Had an amazing dinner at Sandpipers Restaurant recently! I ordered the steak, which was cooked perfectly—tender and full of flavor. The plating was really nice, and everything looked just as good as it tasted. My friends tried the tasting plate and the carbonara pasta, and they loved it too. The staff were friendly and made sure we had a great experience. It was a bit busy, but the food made it worth the wait. If you’re looking for a spot with delicious food and great service, I’d definitely recommend Sandpipers!"

Excellent and delicious food. Eating the food made me want to come again. The food I recommend is the prawn and the the meat combo. The food was great and their service was great. They were really friendly and served without hostility. It was a bit slow but other than that I recommend this place.
Shirley H — Google review
We went to the restaurant for dinner, the atmosphere is nice. We ordered prawn pasta, it had plenty of prawn, however it’s too salty. The fish of the day was nice, but the serving would be more generous, The duck spring rolls were average, not enough filling inside. For 2 people we ordered 3 dishes, the bill was nearly $100 without any drink.
J W — Google review
Maybe the food is better when eating in but as for take away, both times ordering schnitzels and calamari they came soaked in oil, obviously they are fried but the amount of oil was sickly. The chicken parmigiana was basically cheese with maybe a teaspoon of red sauce and the duck spring rolls (photo) are x3 mini spring rolls, no better than a frozen pack from Woolies, with a handful of salad and a couple of sauces for $21. I understand prices are expensive these days, but $21 for a dish that would cost maybe $1 to serve is a joke.

Loved this place, situated in an idyllic spot overlooking Nelson Bay. Watching the late afternoon light merge into sunset made for a delightful experience. Our meal started with Shark Bay half shell scallops with candied blood orange and jamon. This turned out to be a perfect blend of flavours. The other entree was rare sliced house smoked duck breast with citrus, radicchio, cherry caramel and wattle hazelnut. It tasted delightful. Following this, the main course consisted of fresh local sword fish with spinach and ricotta ravioli in saffron pasta, saffron beurre blanc, broccoli, blistered tomato and toasted pepita. We chose the recommended wine with each course and were not disappointed. Dessert was a tasting plate for two with a sample of each desert. Accompanied by coffee, this was a pleasant way to finish the meal. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and are happy to recommend this delightful restaurant.

Hog's Breath Café Nelson Bay is still a local favourite and open unlike many of the HBC's located up and down our east coast. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic family-friendly dining — great food, great value! We had a wonderful meal at Hogs Breath Café! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming — perfect for families or travellers looking for a hearty, satisfying meal. Our table ordered a Chicken Fiesta Bowl, two steaks with salad and mash, and a cheeseburger with salad and mash, followed by delicious desserts. Everything was cooked beautifully and full of flavour. The menu offers something for everyone, with plenty of vegetarian options, some vegan choices, and even low-gluten meals, which was such a bonus. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality was excellent for the price — definitely great value for money. Service was friendly and attentive without being rushed, and the kids felt really welcome, which made the whole experience even better. Nigronis is a popular restaurant known for its amazing food and impeccable service. The slow-cooked lamb, lamb fettuccine, and bolognaise are highly recommended dishes. Visitors appreciate the delightful, friendly, and patient staff who helped them choose their meals without being overbearing. The outdoor setting provides a lovely ambiance for enjoying good food with friends or family.
We had a beautiful dinner here whilst on vacation in Port Stephens. Staff were lovely and advised us when we were ordering that there would be an hour wait for mains as the restaurant was fully booked and we were completely understanding considering it is a popular holiday destination and the volume of patrons they were catering for. Our entrees arrived within half an hour and mains followed shortly after. Food was very nice. Lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection. Pastas were full of flavour. Even the greek salad was seasoned well. Other items we had were garlic bread, garlic pizza, bruschetta and kids bolognese which were all delicious too. Highly recommend and will visit again when back in Port Stephens.

We’ve had an amazing experience dining at Nigronis. Very welcoming and great atmosphere. We were seated a bit earlier in the evening and have never regretted our choice. The service was quick. All the meals were exceptionally good. Portions were large and fresh, with lots of ingredients. We’re very excited to come back next time. Our appreciation to the Nigronis team — they’re excellent. We ordered lamb with baked potato, pasta boscaiola, and bruschetta as a starter.

Went for breakfast and was very satisfied. Ordered the poached eggs and toast and a latte. Coffee was great with a good roast flavour. Eggs tomato and toast hit the spot. Perfect quantity for what I needed. Wife had the smashed avo which she loved, especially the relish with it. Service was good and welcoming.

We arrived and ordered around 7:30pm, and the first dish which was a pasta came at 9pm… I asked the waitress how much longer I need to wait for the food at 8:37pm, she said very soon, and that turned out to be at 9pm. The pizza and pasta I ordered tasted alright but the overall experience for waiting time is just terrible. I came here at 7: 30pm to have dinner, not 9pm supper. Sorry but I wouldn’t want anyone or myself to experience this kind of waiting time ever again.

Our experience started with an amazing service, and continued with an amazing Greek Salad made with high quality Vegetables and oil and cheese the salad was amazing! Pizza wasn’t the best but nice and thin. Highly recommend there Greek Salad.

Food we had was really good, the pizza was topped very well. Place has a nice little bar as well if you want drinks :) Staff was every friendly. Although a lot of things on their menu had items that weren't available cause of lack of ingredients. The only thing I can say is that the food took a long time to come out, and the atmosphere is nice but still feels very empty even if it's busy. Apart from that, I'd definitely recommend you try this place.

I went during the off-tourist season, so the atmosphere was calm and low key. The food was good and juicy, not great but it was hearty and fills you up (albeit it being pricey). The location is beautiful and the servers very nice.

The Seabreeze Hotel offers laid-back accommodations with some rooms featuring bay views, along with a bar/restaurant and complimentary parking. The hotel's pub bistro exudes a welcoming atmosphere with its white wood decor, abundant greenery, and comfortable banquettes. The wine selection predominantly features local wines, including those from the nearby Hunter Valley, while the food menu encompasses a mix of pub classics, Asian-inspired dishes, and Modern Australian cuisine.
Located at 1 Stockton Street, Nelson Bay, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 I had a great experience here. I picked the Grilled Chicken Breast with a side of Peppercorn Sauce and Chips. It was absolutely delicious 😋, however, it was quite slow coming out and it wasn’t a busy night (Monday night). But other than that, I really enjoyed it. The group I was with really enjoyed their meal also. It’s very conveniently located on the corner of the main street of Nelson Bay, so not hard to get to. Our group was staying next door at Hotel Nelson so ideal for us. The staff were very helpful and friendly to us. We were a group of 35, so it must have been a job to serve us. It’s a beautifully decorated establishment also. Very welcoming and warm. I would definitely recommend staying. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Have stayed here a few times now, the rooms are big, well appointed and clean!! The food at the pub is great and if you show your room key, 10% off food and drinks!! Friendly staff, decent prices and good music make for a good night out! And being so close to the marina makes it really accessible after a cruise on the bay!

My Husband and I absolutely LOVED our stay at the Seabreeze Hotel last night! Our room was so spacious, huge bathroom, lovely freestanding bath, water views and a HUGE comfy bed! We had dinner downstairs at the hotel and all I can say is WOW! Absolutely delicious, generous sized meals and plenty of gluten free options! The location of the hotel is amazing, central to shops, the marina and the foreshore! What a way to spend our first night away as a couple since becoming parents. A trip to remember!

We recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The service and hospitality were second to none. The reception staff from the time of booking and check in were wonderful. Smiling, helpful staff, a pleasure to book in there, our room was very spacious and clean, absolutely loved it, and reasonably priced. The bar and catering staff were also wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and all with smiling faces. Only caught 2 names so will give them a special mention, even though all the staff were wonderful, but thank you Rodney and Molly, you helped make our stay so enjoyable. We also dined here for both dinner and breakfast and the food is absolutely delicious. Your room key gives you a 10% discount on food and beverage. This hotel is in a perfect location. The main shopping is strip just outside the door and the Marina across the road. We highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely return. Thank you for a fabulous stay. Julie and Brett Lee Old Bar

Went there for dinner on a Wednesday night and was advised it would be 45min wait for our food we were ok with that so we ordered. 2 salads, 1 x caesar salad and 1 x roast vegetable salad and it took 1 hr 40 mins to to get our salads. For 2 meals that were served cold as they were salads that is way too long.

Terrible customer service! would not recommend! We booked a room advertised as suitable for 4 adults, but when we arrived, the sofa bed wasn’t even set up. We went to reception for help, only to be told that what was prepared in the room is what we get. We had to figure out how to set up the sofa bed and make it ourselves, including putting on all the bedding. Everything — beds, towels, blankets — should have been ready for 4 people as advertised. Very disappointing experience.
Corazon M — Google review
Tasty meals I had vegetable pasta and husband had Chicken Muffin with chips lunch menu, both were big size portions. Staff in bar and bistro were very friendly 😊 will be back.
Prue M — Google review
I stayed here last weekend (June 21–22) and was very disappointed with the experience. I booked a room specifically advertised as suitable for 4 adults, but when we arrived, there was only one bed and a sofa. When we went to reception for help, we were told that whatever was set up in the room was what we would get. We had to figure out ourselves that the sofa was actually a sofa bed and then set it up and make the bedding on our own 😱This was our first time staying at this hotel, and it was especially disappointing for my parents, who were visiting from overseas for a holiday. I expected that booking for 4 adults would mean all sleeping arrangements would be prepared in advance. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of even basic expectations. NEVER AGAIN!

I couldn't make up my mind about where to have breakfast, but by the time I figured it out, it was already lunchtime. I ended up going to Lime Mexican in Nelson Bay and indulged in their delicious pork tacos and chicken fajitas. To complement the meal, I ordered a couple of well-crafted cocktails that perfectly matched the flavors. The pineapple salsa they served was exceptional and added an extra element of delight to the dishes.
Couldn’t decide on where we wanted to go for breakfast so by the time we worked it out, it was lunch time, saw Mexican. Couldn’t resist. Ordered the pork tacos and the chicken fajitas, with a couple cocktails. Both the meals we phenomenal 10/10 pineapple salsa was amazing. Cocktails were well inspired and very fitting to the meals. The waitress who served us did an excellent job at both the service and the cocktails. Even when my partner couldn’t decided what cocktail she wanted the waitress asked her what spirits she liked and made her one from that. Which tasted amazing. Overall amazing dining experience, beautiful view over the marina, and live music too. Would definitely recommend, not just for the food but the service as well.

We arrived about 6:30 without a booking and they were unexpectedly understaffed but still managed to kindly fit us in. The Thursday taco special was fantastic! I was expecting a long wait but everything was so fast, and delicious. Great gluten free options. It was such a nice vibe with chill music overlooking trees and the marina as the sun went down. Service was friendly and helpful. Update: we came back here the following night and it was awesome again, the fajitas and happy hour cocktails were all delicious. Shout out to Yasmine who is a credit to the business with her cheerful efficiency.

It's a nice Mexican restaurant in this area. My friends and I ordered two dishes and one rice bowl each. The foods were good. It's good for sharing with and mild flavours. Something, you want to make full of your tummy, you should order more. Little smaller than I thought. Additionally, good for sitting outside table. Very nice viewing.

Had a great New Years Eve dinner here. The food was pretty good. Well presented and fresh with good flavours. Would be nice if they added more spice. The fish tacos are excellent. Also the nachos and guacamole are soooo good, with the guacamole coming in a generous portion and nicely presented. The staff seemed a little unorganised and they didn’t really add to the festive atmosphere. They merely seated us and served us food, so I guess one could say “Job done.” This would be my only gripe as being a little more attentive with a bit more character would go a long way in this restaurant. Other than that, the restaurant is in a fantastic location overlooking the Marina and is nicely decorated with good food at good prices so would highly advise giving them a try.

Travelled to Nelson Bay for work and decided to give Lime Mexican a try. The food was superb, especially the pork belly! I also suggest ordering mexican rice bowl if you’re extra hungry. I went there for dinner but Im pretty sure the views are great during the day (the restaurant is just in front of the marina)
Berenice O — Google review
Staff was friendly and fit us in without a booking. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. All the tacos came with dry bread that ruined the dishes. We had the pulled pork tacos which was extremely dry and the fried chicken tacos that lacked flavour. None of the dishes had an authentic Mexican flavour to it, the only dish we would eat again if we had to was the pork belly entree. We are from Sydney and none of the restaurants we've ate at in Nelson Bay are comparable to the food in Sydney. Be prepared for no parties in your mouth 🥲

A Monty Python sketch of sorts. Staff were nice. Wasn't terrible, just not a good dinner. Table for five, three sixty-year olds and two thirty-year olds. Way too bright inside (like a carpark - photo doesn't do it justice) - if the pendent lights are on a separate switch they'd probably suffice with the others off. Otherwise maybe a ladder to reach the dimmer (who installs a dimmer so its unreachable 4m up on the ceiling?). Sitting outside is an option (in hindsight). The main sized "Black Mussels" were actually NZ Green Lipped Mussels. Maybe just write "Mussels" on the menu (be less specific). They appeared to be torn open pre-cooking and then sauteed/fried instead of steamed. Haven't had them that way before. Not a great texture, barely any sauce, small for a main. Not the worst Mussels I've ever had, but the second worst. The tempura prawns were just basic fish&chip style battered prawns - not really close to Japanese tempura style. Usually wine/prosecco bottles are opened at the table (unless the prosecco has been shaken up, historically so bottle isn't refilled and because the pop is a fun sound). Ect. All together an okay meal if it was marketed differently, just not the fine dining we hoped for or the meals that were described.

We had a really nice lunch here! Fish & lamb tacos were delish. The passionfruit martini was really yummy!

Great range of shops including Woolies, Coles and Aldi. Reasonable parking capacity except in peak periods.

Terrible car park. Very tight spaces. Just in a 20 min period I witnessed 2 separate incidents of cars hitting other parked cars while trying to squeeze in. In both cases, drivers didn't leave notes. Seems very normal around here. 🤬

Specsavers Audiology Salamander Bay is not a place I would recommend the Audiologist is rude unfriendly and someone that is bad for the business. I had an appointment sat outside his door for 15 minutes past my appointment when he sat inside. I grew tired of waiting when he knew I was waiting. After 25 minutes he called asking when I was going to return and told him I wasn’t. I made a special trip to sign a form that should have been signed during my previous appointment.

Staff member was very rude, telling me to hurry up and not letting me get my order on the actual belt. I was buying for 2 different orders and all the service person kept saying I need to start and you can't hold me up. There was no one else behind us in the line. Never had this before. So rude.

It’s a great lookout, awesome views. Though it was very windy the day we visited. Be mindful there are limited parking spots.

Toboggan Hill Park, located in Nelson Bay, Australia, is a family-friendly amusement park nestled in the natural bushland of Nelson Bay's steep hinterland. The park's main attraction is a thrilling one-kilometer toboggan track with eleven bends and a 300-meter uphill tow. In addition to this exhilarating ride, visitors can enjoy a 45-minute tractor train ride through the bush, stopping at the Giant Maze and catching sight of goannas along the way.
Visited on the last day of school holidays and had a great time. Entry was easy with flexible options to choose from at the admission desk. Pay as you go or group ride packages, which was super convenient. It's perfect for the younger kids and toboggan were definitely the highlight- so much fun and something abit different. The staff were all very friendly, rock climbing guys were awesome encouraging the youngest to push through the nerves and smash the climb. Highly recommend for a fun outing with kids.
Camille S — Google review
A good destination for all-day activities. Particularly for kids. Have visited this place a few times, and the Toboggan ride is also enjoyable, and it is for kids and adults alike.
S K — Google review
A fun family-friendly park with plenty of activities to enjoy. The highlight is definitely the toboggan ride, which is exciting yet safe for both kids and adults. The track runs through a nice natural setting, making the experience even more enjoyable. Besides the ride, the park also offers mini golf, rock climbing, and other indoor games, so there’s something for everyone. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming. The only downside is that it can get quite busy during peak times, meaning longer waits for the toboggan. Still, it’s worth a visit if you’re in Port Stephens and looking for some outdoor fun.

We visited over the last school holidays, and we spent the entire day there with loads of fun. Entry was easy with choices of how you would wish to play/pay. We’ll equip staff and we’re all very friendly and helpful. We had to wait for about 30mins for the Toboggan ride, but it’s probably because of the school holidays, but well worth the wait, by boys went for 3 times. There is also rock climbing, roller skating, bowling, putt putt golf just to name a few(refer to my photo for the full list) do plan to spend a day there.

Great place to visit when you are staying in Nelson’s Bay and are looking for a family fun activity. The toboggan run is the main attraction and we would give it 5 star if only the price per run was not so expensive. There is also mini golf and some other activities.

Golf course
Horizons Golf Resort offers bright apartments equipped with kitchens and washer/dryers, providing a view of the resort's 18-hole golf course. The course presents a decent challenge amidst a beautiful setting, featuring a well-maintained 6,187-meter par 72 layout with spectacular holes and diverse wildlife. Additionally, the resort provides excellent dining experiences and friendly staff that make visitors feel like part of the family.
Unfortunately for us, the greens had recently been cored. They were still quick considering. Some really daunting tee shots and accuracy a must. Only got to play the front 9. If I ever get the chance to play here again. I'll jump at the chance. Green fees were reasonable and the Golf was fun.

Course in great condition bar some brown patches of grass on fairways. Greens excellent and largish. Bunkers were magnificently groomed in particular. Long off the white tees. Clubhouse had better days but the schnitzel burger and chips were excellent . Overall great value for 60 bucks

Nice course, not too busy. Only place that would take 4 groups at short notice. Really nice.
Chris J — Google review
Course in good condition, in light of the recent wet weather. Still some damp patches on the fairways, greens in good nick. Golf carts are average and in need of upgrading.
Tony M — Google review
Booked months in advance for a group of 8 players travelling up from Sydney only to be told on arrival that we should only be playing 9 holes because of the time of day (the only time we could get). This should have been discussed at the time of booking, or any of the subsequent calls leading up to the day. It made the playing experience very unpleasant. The day was obviously overbooked and very poorly managed, compounded by the fact there was no Course Marshall to keep the flow moving (backed up to four groups waiting on several holes)

Farm
Holberts Oyster Supplies, located at Salamander Bay, is a family-owned oyster farm that has been in operation for five generations. They are known for their freshly shucked oysters and large cooked king prawns. Visitors can watch the busy team shuck oysters and then enjoy their seafood at wooden tables outside with a view of the oyster farms. The farm also offers a selection of bottled beer and white wine to accompany the seafood feast.
Lots of reviews about bad service or lemon up charge. Who cares. You don’t come here for good service, you come here for cheap as oysters ($30 for 20). It’s also incidentally the best oysters I’ve ever had. They’re small but they’re so umami. You don’t even need lemon. Will come back here whenever I’m back in the area.
Cynthia L — Google review
This place has a bad reputation due to the unfriendly service (see bad reviews). We stopped by because we wanted to try their local oysters. A grumpy woman took our order and didn't bother to thank us. Every single worker was miserable and the entire atmosphere was so off putting! They supply their oysters all over Port Stephens. It's obvious they have nothing to lose because their so wealthy. They must take pride in treating their customers like garbage!

Found a worm on the oyster shell. watch out before eating! That said, the taste was still nice and the view was beautiful. However, the service was not great. Staff didn’t handle the unexpected situation professionally. Also, a lemon costs $2. Bring your own if you don’t want to waste money on lemon.

Fresh Seafood, Great Views & a Cheeky Kookaburras! We absolutely love this place! Whenever we’re craving seafood, we make the trip up and are always blown away by how fresh and delicious everything is, especially the oysters. There’s a handful of parking spots out the front, and we love grabbing a seat at one of the outdoor tables to enjoy the view while we eat. Just be aware of the local kookaburras, they’re not shy, and one made off with my fish once (can’t even be mad, really). I’ve recommended this spot to every seafood fan I know… even though a part of me wants to keep it all to myself!

Nestled in the heart of Nelson Bay, Thai Charm is a delightful spot that captures the essence of Thailand's vibrant culinary scene. This charming restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for those looking to unwind after a day of adventure in the Port Stephens Region. With an extensive menu featuring traditional dishes like curries, stir-fries, and noodles, guests can indulge in authentic flavors crafted from fresh ingredients.
Awesome food! Awesome staff serving with smiles!! Pleasant environment! The shop was just near the parking lot and it was much easier to get in and get off. We entered the place 15 mins before the closing time. But the friendly staff welcomed and served with all smiles. Tom yum soup with chicken, prawn cutlets were a favourite. Pad Thai was just yum!!

The restaurant has a pleasant, cozy and friendly atmosphere. The staff are friendly and always ask about our experience. The food is served quickly. However, I still deduct 1 point because the beef was tough and the prawns in the pad Thai were a bit bland. However, the sauces in the dishes were delicious. I think the Thai fried rice is to my taste.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The customer service was terrible—staff were unwelcoming and unfriendly, with no greetings or basic hospitality. We weren’t even offered table water and had to go get it ourselves. The hygiene was also concerning. Staff were seen taking their shoes off and lying down near the entrance, which is completely unprofessional and unsanitary. On top of that, the air conditioning wasn’t working, and there was no effort to offer fans or inform customers about the situation. The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable, and the lack of care from the staff made it even worse. What’s even more frustrating is the way management responds to feedback. Instead of genuinely listening to customer concerns and trying to improve, they get defensive with weak excuses and refuse to take responsibility. They can’t seem to handle criticism and don’t take “no” for an answer. Rather than addressing real issues, they focus on arguing back, which is just sad and pathetic. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. There are plenty of other Thai restaurants that actually value their customers, provide good service, and maintain a clean, comfortable environment.

So surprised, I would easily rate this as one of the best Thai meals I’ve had in Australia. We’ve lived in the Bay for over a year and go out at least once a week. We walked past this restaurant countless times and never gave it a go and I’m so glad today we did. The restaurant has a nice ambience and is very clean and tidy. The staff were all super friendly and you can see they take pride in what they offer. The prawn crackers were great. The duck in Tamarind Sauce I had was near perfect. May I just add, the broccoli that came with it must be best I’ve ever tasted. My wife had the soft shell crab salad which she gave a 5/5. Even the presentation was on point. All in all, I couldn’t fault my experience here today, and the fact that we heard singing coming from the kitchen just made it that little bit special. Thank you! 🙏

Food was delicious, flavors were wonderful.I love the laksa soup so much but my husband considered it to be way to be spicy for his taste. We return here many times for meal as the food us always tasty and the service is first class.

Delicious Old-School Aussie Chinese at L’il Buddha – Salamander Bay We had a fantastic meal at L’il Buddha and it really hit the spot! If you’re craving a classic Aussie Chinese feast, this is the place. We started with prawn toast, which was crispy and full of flavour. Then came the honey prawns and sweet and sour pork—both done just right with that nostalgic, satisfying taste. The standout, though, was their special dish, Buddha Chicken—absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, everything was freshly cooked, and the flavours were spot on. A great spot for a comforting, tasty meal that delivers on flavour and value. Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for a hearty, satisfying Chinese dinner.

Food was Great 🤩 Entrees - Spring roles & Fried wontons Side - Special Fried Rice Mains - Sweet And Sour Pork, Honey Pepper Pork and Pad Thai Least favourite was the Pad Thai Not the greatest tasting meal Don’t get to finish the whole meal it was scrumptious very lovely 👌🏼 Down fall was going to the toilet and seeing it wasn’t as clean as it should be for a restaurant 👎🏽

Two day ago I tried the L’il Buddhas lunch time menu for $14. I ordered the sweet and sour pork. The pork pieces were juicy and not dry. I was extremely satisfied with the dish. For an older person like myself I do not want a large proportion at lunch time.Your cannot beat the quantity and quality of the food for $14.

Bannisters Port Stephens

Hotel
Bannisters Port Stephens in Soldiers Point is a chic hotel with bay views and upscale amenities. The ground floor Ocean Deck and Luxury Suite rooms are pet-friendly, featuring tasteful decor in calming hues and direct access to the resort's garden and beach. Guests can enjoy hearty meals at the casual pub Cheeky Dog or savor excellent seafood at the Rick Stein restaurant on-site. Visitors praise the spacious rooms, ocean-view swimming pool, and thoughtful gestures from staff for special occasions.
Beautiful spacious clean rooms in a lovely peaceful environment. The setting around the hotel is just gorgeous. The pool is lovely, the restaurants looked great & smelt great (we didn’t get a chance to try them though) and the staff were so helpful/friendly. Check in process was one of the smoothest I’ve experienced. Worth mentioning they had a great poolside happy hour and all the menus catered for gluten free too. We will definitely be back!

We were fortunate enough to be gifted a 3 night package at Bannister's which we used this week. What an excellent experience. The room were fresh and spacious with a lovely view of the bay and surrounds. A couple of standouts for us. 1. Cocktail happy our on the pool deck each day. The margaritas were outstanding 2. The service. The staff were friendly and little things like a complementary glass of bubbles on arrival was really appreciated. 3. We dined at Rick Steins and we Both were very satisfied with our meals and though it was not cheap we felt it was worth the experience. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bannisters! The rooms are well appointed and very clean and tidy but I wouldn’t say 5 star. The beds were super comfy and the hotel reasonably quiet although there was that one “ party” group who had to disrupt everyone’s siesta s with over the top, inappropriate conversations ( children were everywhere) and other shenanigans. The staff were fantastic and had an eye on the group and may have asked them to tone it down( not entirely sure) I really rate the staff. All super professional and slick but also very approachable and friendly. We had a SUPERB breakfast buffet at Rick Steins!! Definitely seek it out. We loved the creative range of mix and mingle options- boiled eggs, mini capers, cucumber red onion and cherry tomato salad, feta, Swiss cheese and smoked salmon. All excellent quality and fresh! The pastries were also excellent quality and very fresh. There was a large selection of tropical fruit and muesli and yoghurt. Cooked ala carte options are also available. Overall a very pleasant sojourn away for a couple of night. Thank you to the excellent staff - we really appreciated the outstanding service! Jo( Nz)

We had the most wonderful stay at Port Stephens last night. The room was magnificent, and waking up to a sunrise with the soundtrack of all those beautiful birds was pure magic. Dinner at Rick Stein’s was sensational (we’re still talking about it), and this morning’s continental breakfast? Honestly, one of the best we’ve ever had. We left feeling very spoiled, very happy, and already looking forward to staying again in the future. Thank you for making it such a memorable escape.

As a beachside hotel, Bannister's fits the bill... It's relaxed, quiet, friendly, congruently furnished, has large rooms, lovely landscaped grounds and efficient and helpful staff. For me, the stand-out was the cuisine, which was excellent (regardless of which restaurant you were visiting). Breakfast (included in the room rate) was exceptionally good value and included a good selection of cold-cuts (the smoked salmon was superb), accompaniments and pastries, although the pre-cut breads were always hard and stale, which required toasting. However, when I asked, they happily gave me fresh bread, which I appreciated. Hot food is an additional cost and my party of guests confirmed it was good. The hotel is by no means a resort. It is contained, with a small outdoor infinity pool, and a poolside area for relaxing. I found my room (a king ocean-view) was comfortable and quiet. I didn't like the open car parking area and would have gladly paid for parking to keep my car clean. However, I acknowledge this is a small consideration. The receptionist gladly parked my car to save me the steep walk up the hill into the hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for brief and relaxing getaways, although it may have its limitations for lengthier stays. The hotel is situated close to the beach, local shopping areas and restaurants. I very much enjoyed my stay and would definitley return. Thank you to all the staff who helped make it a very enjoyable and relaxing break.

Hard to fault this amazing hotel!! Stayed here with our one year old and what a dream. Service was immaculate. Kindest staff I’ve come across in a long time. Patient, accomodating and always cheerful. Housekeeping were great especially with our nap times schedule and coming back later to fix up our room. Breakfast and coffee was great. We had the best time, worth the 4 hour drive ☀️

What an experience! My wife, son and I are definitely coming back. The service and staff are absolute stars, from Ross and Naomi from the front desk to Kate our waitress at breakky. Those guys are just a few names we could remember, the staff at Bannister's are amazing and deserve all the praise and recognition. Thank you for accommodating to our little son too! Rooms were always clean and comfortable, the pool was at the perfect temperature and the hotel was presentable. Such a blessing to spend our four nights there. Thank you team!

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Moonshadow-TQC Cruises in Nelson Bay, offering thrilling whale-watching tours and dolphin cruises. Choose from a variety of vessels equipped with boom-nets and waterslides for added fun. Enjoy refreshments and a bar onboard while witnessing small pods of dolphins leaping and playing in the waves. Experience moments of joy and wonder as you encounter these magnificent creatures, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Booking office located at 3/35 Stockton Street, Nelson Bay, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 (Cruises depart from Nelson Bay Marina). This was a wonderful experience. The staff were fantastic (particularly Chris) . So friendly and welcoming. Willing to answer any and all questions. Also so helpful in spotting the dolphins 🐬. The boat itself was wonderful, great seating both inside and out. It was an extremely windy day so mostly everyone stayed inside but the best views were outside, particularly upstairs. There’s very good toilet 🚻 facilities, including accessible toilets. You can also buy drinks and chips etc to have on cruise. The cruise itself was plenty long enough, we had great spotting of the dolphins and it was great when they were so close to the boat. I had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend if you are visiting Nelson Bay. The scenery from the boat is amazing. Thumbs up!! 👍👍

Absolutely a brilliant cruise! Highly recommend! We have been out on their dolphin cruises before which are amazing but this is the first time we have been on a whale watching cruise! We saw lots of whales and also seals as well as dolphins! The whale watching was incredible with lots of whales up close to the boat and the captain was really good and also entertaining! We literally saw heaps of whales and they were all around us, a big thank you to all the captain and all the crew who were really friendly and helpful! My wife and kids all loved the day

We had so much fun. The captain and the crew were superb. He found a herd of whales which was super playful, from breaching to fin slapping to tail slapping. My kids loved it and was truly a memorable day. I would highly recommend. Food and beverages on the boat were reasonably priced and the food selection was great.

Was a cloudy chilly day but the cruise was so worth it, Didn't take long before we found several pods of dolphins which the family LOVED seeing.... Dolphins were up to mischief and playful with some very close encounters with the boat. The sights and commentary were great and overall SO worth it
Jakov J — Google review
We had a good experience. The captain was very informative and helpful. We even got a photo of the kids in the helm with the captain. There was a very happy, friendly and fun member of staff but I can't remember his name unfortunately, who was lovely and full of life. Tall fella, brown hair. You'll know him if you're lucky enough to have his awesome vibe on board. We bought food on board and they have a good selection of basics - chips, sausage rolls, pies, lollies, hot and cold drinks, ice creams, etc. Reasonably prices items. I wouldn't recommend the cheese and Spinach roll but the sausage roll and the hot chips were delicious. We saw a medium sized pods of Indo-Pacific bottle nose dolphins which was fantastic. The booking process and boarding was very easy and quick. The dock is easy to find. Lots of inside seating on the vessel, not much outside unless you go upstairs which is open to the forces of nature's (in our case - constant sun exposure because we were lucky to have great weather) so we opted to sit mid-deck inside and it was cool and spacious eventhough the boat was full. Overall, a good experience 👌

Boat used by Moonshadow was the biggest n the best amongst the ones standing at the pier when we boarded . It was uniquely spotted amongst the many ships. Crew was energetic and interactive who guided us about the marine life and their habitat also were engaging us in the conversation and making our day the most memorable. Experience is what we take at the end of the trip and thats the job of the crew to make it memorable one. We had sighted 2 Whales and lots of Dolphins n Seals in the Cruise Floating and Kayaking was amazing .. Jumping in the River was mesmerizing experience Gari Island was with Crystal White Sand and Tubing is definitely the most memorable experience The best part is during all three meals Vegetarian was remembered and served to us in all meals Breakfast and lunch and afternoon snacks was superb When in Urangan Moonshadow is the only option

If your in the area do yourselves a favour, the dolphin cruise was one of the best experiences that I have had. My family including 2 little ones have not stopped talking about our trip. We were happy to see random dolphins around us, but then they rode the bow wave of the boat giving us some amazing photo's and memories. One experience not to miss.

Museum
Specialty Museums
Nestled just a short 20-minute drive north of Newcastle, Fighter World is an aviation museum that promises an unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike. This not-for-profit organization serves as the RAAF Williamtown Aviation Heritage Centre, showcasing a remarkable collection of aircraft spanning several decades. Visitors can explore two expansive hangars filled with iconic planes like the Mirage III, Avon Sabre, Gloster Meteor, and Australia’s first Vampire jet. The highlight? Kids (and adults!
Fighter world has done a fantastic job on displaying  Australia’s aircraft history.  There were a large variety of aircraft on display along with ammunition, weapons, and jet  engines. I loved that it was family friendly and gave you the chance to sit in the cockpit, giving an appreciation of the jet fighter. The Friendly Guides were a great source of information. They were very passionate on what they were talking about and looking at. They certainly did make our visit enjoyable. The outdoor viewing platform overlooking the RAAF Base gave us the audio from the air traffic control while we could hear and see the planes taking off and landing.  The noise and speed of the aircraft were unreal There is also a cafe next to the hanger with outdoor seating, so you don't miss the action. Parking is plenty and free. Toilets facilities were clean. I would recommend visiting and spending a few hours wandering around looking and reading the history of these great giants of the sky.

Located at 49 Medowie Road, Williamtown, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. This is a great place to come to. The display of the fighter jets is quite vast and the history of Australian fighter jets is amazing. You also get to see the ammunition, the weapons, the engines and so much more. Very well set out and easy to follow. If you are lucky enough, while enjoying a wonderful drink or meal at the attached “My Three Beans” Cafe, you might get to see some jets taking off or landing. The noise is so loud but well worth seeing. It’s amazing to experience. Admission to the museum is $20 adults, $11 children (under 5 years free) and senior/pensioner $16. I thought this very reasonable considering everything you get to see. There are toilets available, including disabled) around the back of the building. There’s plenty of parking 🅿️ and it’s free 🆓. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend visiting here. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Very informative displays and I even got to chat to a former F111 pilot!! … The best part is the second storey platform at the rear where you can see - up close - F35 fighter taking off and land. What a thrill … the little coffee shop next door is very reasonable priced and had a great variety on the menu

The staff at William Fighter World were incredibly friendly and helpful. The aircraft displays were impressive, especially the F-18 fighter jet. There’s also another exhibition hall accessible from the back door, with even more to explore. Definitely worth a visit.”
Rachel — Google review
On Tuesday at around 12:55 pm, I bought tickets online a week in advance. Walk-ins were also fine. If I had to be honest, we thought the museum was small, but it was actually quite large! There were massive jets, and we even got to sit in one! The staff was lovely and very informative. We weren’t busy until about 1:30 pm. We really loved seeing the showcased jets. Then, we saw massive jets taking off! We didn’t know of any jets as it was our first time thinking it was just a museum, but not realising it was outside Williamtown RAAF. There weren’t just one, but two jets, and then a heap of different planes going! This experience was amazing, and I honestly fell in love with jets. Seeing and hearing how loud they were was crazy! They had bathrooms and an outer deck to see the jets taking off. Honestly, it was an 11/10 experience. I would definitely go again!
Anita L — Google review
Highly recommend a trip to Fighter World. We had some time between our arriving flight and hotel check in and it was worth the stop! Whole family (kids 13, 11, 9 and 8) thoroughly enjoyed, as did the adults. - Can not thank Steve enough for taking us around and giving us a real understanding of what we were viewing, even explaining things to the kids and answering any questions. - This can be a self guided experience with plenty of information provided on signs, however I strongly encourage you to talk to the gentlemen on the floor. They have first hand experience and are so full of knowledge and passion. - We managed to time it well enough to see some jets taking off and landing which was a great (noisy) experience! - We stopped for lunch at the Cafe which has heaps of variety, was all reasonably priced and was tasty. Overall a great way to spend a few hours especially on a rainy day, we did not prebook and there was no wait.

Department store
Centrally, located, it would be one of the best Big WS in the Hunter Valley friendly staff. Well worth a visit
Graham S — Google review
It was like all other Big W stores. Some departments were a little untidy, but generally, cleanliness was good. Only one checkout was open, with a long lineup. Woman working Self Serve was easily distracted, chatting with a colleague. She was quite rude also. Simple solution to unhappy staff, find a job somewhere else, and open the position for someone who will appreciate it and do the job well.
Hells B — Google review
Fourth time shopping where the assisted checkout is closed. As a person with a disability I am unable to use the auto checkout. When I ask someone if they could open the checkout I get treated like I have asked for the most inconvenient thing in the staffs life. What happened to service with a smile, or just treating people with a disability with a bit of dignity.

The Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters is a marine-life conservation center that offers snorkeling and feeding sessions with rays and sharks. The aquatic creatures are now outdoors, allowing them to receive natural sunlight and experience normal weather conditions. Visitors can enjoy a hands-on experience with the super-friendly rays and sharks while learning valuable information about them. However, some may find the talk about the sharks in the pool to be too lengthy for young children, who may become bored.
This was a fantastic opportunity to be interactive and up close with sting rays and sharks. We got to feed the animals and touch them. The staff were very passionate, proud and informative on their talks on these creatures. I learnt a lot of interesting information. If you are keen, (i wasnt), you can get in the water with the sting ray, sharks and turtles. This place exceeded my expectations and I would go back again. There is plenty of parking and easy to get around. There is even space to take a picnic lunch and sit in the grounds.

i love stingrays!! they're my favourite underwater creature so this experience was perfect for me. The guys (both human and ray) in the Ray pools were very friendly and educational. Really enjoyed the talk at 12:20pm, learned lots of new things. I didn't know Rays could asexually reproduce! I really liked that the feeding is included in the price, it was very nice to just get handed more food unprompted. Most places would charge extra for that. Anyway good experience overall and I LOVE STINGRAYS!!!

Highly recommend a visit! We had a fantastic day and spent a lot more time here than originally planned. We booked the zebra shark encounter, but as it was a quieter day the owner asked if we'd mind moving our encounter time to a slightly later slot to have an exclusive experience. The he threw in the little ray cuddle experience for free so we werent waiting around. Although after our Ray experience he came over as he accidentally double booked our early afternoon zebra shark slot so that was pushed back again to late afternoon BUT we then got given the reef shark encounter for free as well! Highly recommend all 3 encounters. We had an awesome time. We couldnt possibly pick a favourite! The self discovery is also well worth it if you don't want dedicated encounters pr the times don't suit. You still get up close with the creatures and participate in feedings. Staff are friendly and passionate about the work they do. The animals are clearly very happy and well cared for. The animals always have space to move away if they don't feel like interacting, nothing is forced, which is very important to us when considering places for animal encounters.
Jennai H — Google review
A fabulous experience that just keeps on giving. My 2 daughters (13 and 24) did the Ray Snorkle experience and our host was fantastic. So informative, the most amazing friendly rays and reef sharks. Because the girls were in wet suits for this experience they were then able to be in with the reef sharks, cuddling them and feeding them in the deeper water. Everyone team member was super excited to be working there, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth paying the extra to do these experiences. Even with my normal admission I was able to feed rays and sharks, touching them is easy due to them being so friendly and seeking our attention. Worth every cent and would highly recommend.
Nicola C — Google review
My partner and myself visited this beautiful centre yesterday and absolutely loved every minute of it. We pre booked a little ray cuddle for midday but decided to come up earlier so we could explore the park before our booking time. When we arrived we were greeted by a super friendly staff member who explained the different processes that we could be involved in throughout the day. It’s really important to remember when booking that this place isn’t sea world, it is a peaceful rehabilitation centre where you can interact with some beautiful creatures and learn about their species and conservation. We were not disappointed at all. All the staff that we encountered throughout the day were beyond friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Due to the fact that we had booked an experience, we were given wetsuits to put on when we first arrived. We were a bit sceptical at first because it was a very hot day and we were worried about wearing them for the next couple of hours but it was completely worth it. We were able to sit in the water with both the sharks and the stingrays and interact with them further than other patrons who were not in wetsuits. So highly recommend upgrading to wetsuits for a more personal experience with the animals. All the animals loved coming over for a gentle pat and even spent a lot of time in the shallows so other patrons without wetsuits were also able to feed and pat them. All in all we had an amazing time at this centre and enjoyed learning about the conservation and protection of the animals whilst being able to interact with them one on one as well. Definitely recommend visiting outside of school holidays as it is far less crowded, at times we were the only people interacting with the animals which made the whole experience so much more one on one and personal. Thank you so much team!

Modern Australian restaurant
Seafood restaurant
The Point Restaurant is a stylish venue with expansive windows offering stunning water and sunset views. The menu features a seafood-focused global fare. Despite some recent negative reviews about the service, many visitors have had amazing experiences with the staff, finding them warm and accommodating. Guests have praised the high quality of the sashimi platter and exceptional service. While some experienced longer wait times for their food, overall, it's been described as an ultimate dining destination with delicious food and peaceful ambiance by many patrons.
Stunning location and we were blessed to have a perfect sunset that night! Service was friendly and food came out quickly and was very tasty. Thank you for making the first night of our weekend away so enjoyable! :)

Fantastic location with stunning views. It's breezy, relaxed with great food. The pastas & risottos were amazing as were the fritto misto & seafood. Chicken breast was too dry & dessert can be a miss. Other then that with a very affordable wine list, friendly service, great food (definitely go for the more Italian or seafood dishes) its a must visit.

This place is the ultimate. It is right on the water over looking boats and the water. The service was exceptional. The food was probably the best I have ever eaten. We had the opportunity to meet the chef and if I told you his nationality you would not believe it. I am just blown away by this restaurant we live in Newcastle but we have made a promise to visit at least once a month. We done to staff and chef 15 out of 10.

Despite some recent negative reviews about the service, we had an amazing meal and amazing experience with the staff. Makes you wonder if the negative reviews say more about the patrons than the staff 🤷🏼‍♂️ Anyway, we asked for flexible booking time so we could come along right after feeding our newborn, and it was no issue. We were greeted by warm and cheery wait staff who also gave us our space when needed. We enjoyed the starters of the sashimi platter - amazing high quality and thick cut fish. The tuna was… insane. And the seared scallops and crispy pork belly. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the pork was crispy but maybe a tad dry. For mains, the seafood chowder was amazing! Easy to overlook but on a colder autumn evening it was just what I needed. A nice large serve with crispy bread and some of the best mussels I have ever tasted. I assume all their mussel dishes use the same produce and will be just as tasty. We also had the bug and prawn linguine which was similarly delicious and had heaps of fresh basil and tomato! Finally we shared the desert tasting for 2, which was the perfect portion size. The deconstructed cheesecake looked very strange (I laughed loudly!) and it did feel a bit unnecessary to “deconstruct” cheesecake- but it was very very nice. Overall a wonderful experience and so glad we chose it for our first dinner date without our newborn (thanks to my mother in law for babysitting!)

The place was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Staff who assisted us was very cheerful and accommodating. Food was absolutely delicious, we just love everything we’ve had. The only downside was the time they serve the food, we’ve waited for more or less half an hour to have our first order then we’ve waited again to have the starter and etc. It was like we’ve spent more time waiting for our food to come rather than eating them.

Just beautiful with the most picturesque views and the meals are exceptional. Wine list gets my approval and I’m fussy. Beers are good served in pilsener glasses and the menu isn’t overloaded with expensive options. Will go again. Will recommend and will take more photos
Aussiebab R — Google review
We had the seafood platter, the seafood was perfectly cooked and just the right amount to satisfy two people. Nice selection of hot and cold seafood and the balmain bugs were sweet and succulent. The platter came with a selection of sauces, two of them had an odd fruit flavour and one had passion fruit in it which I was not a fan of. The classic seafood sauce and tartar style sauce with the chips were the way to go. But points for trying something different. The chips were crunchy and perfectly cooked. There was a great view outside however we came in the evening so we didn't get to enjoy the location as much. The restaurant was a little lacking in atmosphere in the evening when there were fewer customers and as the space is quite large large, it felts quite empty when there were only 6 or 7 tables occupied. Perhaps adding some nice mood music or warmer lighting would make the space more inviting. Overall it was a nice experience, but next time I might try to come during the day when we can enjoy the view off the balcony. Nice cocktails also

Fantastic service, terrific food and a sunset to die for. We went for my birthday last night and chose the oysters kilpatrick, Italian mussels, barramundi as fish of the day, prawn and mussel linguini, and fish pie followed by the dessert tasting plate. Everything was cooked to perfection and the tastes were sensational. Highly recommend.

Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant 2317, named after its location at Soldiers Point Marina, offers stunning waterfront views from its second-floor setting. The menu showcases fresh seafood and local produce with a touch of Asian flavors like nahm jim and miso. Guests praise the friendly staff, beautiful sunset views from the balcony, and delicious meals. Despite a minor issue with undercooked steak, the attentive service and tasty seafood left diners satisfied.
We had a wonderful fine dining, locals experience here with exceptional attention to plating, service, taste, our comfort and needs. Everything looked immaculate and the sunset views were captivating. Restaurant staff were so accommodating, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and night out. Truly a wonderful experience!

Located in the luxury soldiers point marina. Food was good. Especially sea food was fresh and tasty. They have various cocktails and mocktails menu too. The staffs were extra polite and friendly. I didn't take photos of atmosphere due to too many diners. LOL

We love Restaurant 2317! Tonight we experienced the scrumptious Autumn menu. My husband Andy commented to the delightful server: “If it wasn’t impolite I would have licked the plate!” We always time our visit with the stunning sunset and with atmosphere, food and service - we think it’s the best in the bay! Andy & Nicky (The Copper Whale Bayside) ❤️❤️❤️

We had a street dinner at Restaurante 2317. Our whole street turned up. The food was fantastic. Some neighbours said it was expensive for kids especially if they didn’t each much. But overall we had a great evening. With 2 drinks each and 3 courses we paid about $150 each.

We have been a couple of times now and it is always an extraordinary experience, right from the time you walk in being welcomes by friendly staff always attentive to our needs. This time around was Fathers Day brekkie and again did not disappoint! A true testament to the dedication of their team from wait staff, to the kitchen crew & management!

Such a beautiful location overlooking the marina at Soldiers Point. The staff were friendly & attentive. The food was fresh, gorgeous flavours and presented beautifully.

Dined on my own here last night. Food was excellent. Would highly recommend the sashimi and the seafood platter for one. Likewise, the service was friendly, and welcoming. It was a busy Sunday evening, yet all dishes were served up with perfect timing. I would highly recommend Restaurant 2317 to anyone spending time in the area, and look forward to returning soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Restaurant 2317. It was our third visit and it never disappoints. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy being the Australia Day long weekend our host Dean went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we needed. The Passionfruit Soufflé was divine. I can’t wait to visit again when I’m next at Salamander Bay. We also love the sister restaurant Little Beach Boathouse but we can walk to Restaurant 2317!

Pizza restaurant
Aussie Pizza Company is a well-established Australian chain that offers a wide range of classic and gourmet pizzas. Some branches even provide table seating for a comfortable dining experience. Despite initial concerns, the customer was delighted with their experience, having tried two delicious pizzas - cheese and pepperoni. The toppings were abundant, especially when ordering the largest size known as "monster." These pizzas were truly enormous! The customer's hunger prevented them from capturing a photo before devouring the scrumptious slices.
We ordered 20 pizzas for a charity dinner for our volunteers. The food was delivered on time and the driver was very courteous. Great taste in the variety of pizzas ordered. And thank you for the gluten free base on one of the pizzas too. We will definitely order from you again. And highly recommend ordering from Michelle. Thank you very much Pietro

Halal chicken from steggles! Fantastic service and quick turn around for my order. Only took five minutes at off peak. I got a chicken pizza with the lot, unfortunately though very well made with a great dough base, the pizza was lacking in seasoning. Overall two steps higher then pizza hut and domino's, but they need some finishing seasoning.
UDI — Google review
$65 for 2X pizzas (ordinary) chicken wings that were more cooked then half the locals, garlic bread that could have been cooked for longer and some burnt churros with a side of what I’m assuming is rikodeine and took nearly 2 hours and 6 ignored phone calls to get it delivered. When the phone was finally answered I was told they “were not taking orders because they were running late for catering” but I was just trying to advise them my order that they had happily taken the money from me for (and did not advise me they were catering) that I had been waiting for over an hour for it to be delivered. Anyways I’ll stick to domino’s from now on.
Teisha M — Google review
We are local customers, who order fairly frequently. The pizzas are great, on the rare occasion we order in person the staff a genuinely fantastic, however, when we order online, more often than not, and the deliveries are very slow. If, for example, the store specify a 35 minute deliver time, it often seems to take an hour more then they stated. For example, a 7:30 pm delivery time has turned into an 8:30-9:00 pm delivery time on our last 4 consecutive orders. In summary: The staff are pleasant, they are a small, local business, the food is fantastic, they could improve their delivery, times drastically. Significantly better than the local dominoes, just plan ahead.
Jordan R — Google review
Ordered some pizzas tonight for delivery at 7:02, estimated wait time was 45 minutes so expected delivery time was 7:47, not too bad. Waited until 8:20pm, still no update so I gave them a call, the young person on the phone put me on hold to go check what was going on, and then another young person picked up the phone from hold with an abrupt “what do you want” I explained what was going on and was then put on hold again, when they came back they explained they were waiting for a delivery driver as they only had 2 on. Our order was finally delivered at 9:10pm. No apologies for how late it was or how long it took, and we only received a small coke when we ordered a 2L. The pizza although was very good as per usual, just a little disappointed in the lack of service.
Bridghid N — Google review
The pizzas are absolutely amazing. Beats Domino's hands down. The only 2 problems I have is the time it took to cook order and the cost of extra items. Need to explain to customers what pizzas are available for the specials and what ones will cost extra

Pizza's are divine & the owner is amazing that makes you feel wright at home when you enter the store, which is few & far between these day's, my experience here today will stay with me forever, Thank you so much.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is an iconic, well-established fast-food chain renowned for its burgers and fries. Their menu offers the familiar McDonald's fare but with the advantage of shorter wait times, ensuring freshly prepared food that isn't rushed. The restaurant boasts a pristine atmosphere and pleasant outdoor seating options. Additionally, it offers indoor entertainment facilities like Playland, as well as an outdoor playground. There is ample parking available and convenient drive-thru service to cater to customers' needs efficiently.
My partner and I went into Williamtown McDonald’s around Midnight on 6 June Wanting to get ice creams sadly the ice cream machine was getting rebooted but the best worker ever Sheyenne on Night Shift gave us the best chocolate frappes ever and a extra free apple pie as a replacement. She went out of her way for us her positive attitude and very good customer service we are so appreciated.

Same as other reviews and I should have read before we got here…this place is filthy! They don’t have anyone cleaning, there food scraps on the tables chairs and floor! I had to wipe down a table in order to sit down to eat. Busy or what it is their manager’s job to ensure they have the right resources to keep the place running well and meet hygiene standards. This is not a third world country !
C H — Google review
This place is filthy, from overflowing bins, tables that need to be cleared and the other tables wiped down, it felt grotty eating in there. The toilets weren't any better. How hard is it to delegate one team member to clean the front of house?
R T — Google review
Food was ok, cleanliness of the place disgusting , toilets looked like they get cleaned once a month, garbage bins were all over flowing inside and out. There was heaps of rubbish even in the car park. Cant imagine what the kitchen was like where they cook. Wouldn’t ever go there again.
Jason M — Google review
Customer service is normally very good, however it’s the food quality that can be up and down. So many times they run out of certain items or the soft serve machine isn’t working.
Jay M — Google review
Waited for 10 mins for cold fries and chixken nuggets at williamstown today! Asked for more fries and waited another 3 mins Had to ask for our sofr drink Nuggets cold Rang and spoke to manager who told me they were short staffed and would have to wait till the drive thru was less busy! Waited another 10 mins No sighn of manager! To say we are disappointed ia an understatement!
Tim M — Google review
How about we serve the people waiting first / the longest in the drive thru. Maybe there would be less abuse of your staff if you actually used the monitoring system you've installed.
Kate W — Google review
Ordered thru drive thru had to wait 9 mins for apple pies(i agreed) but was given food first so by time i got home it was cold and should have checked but my burger wasnt there rang up they dont deliver what you are missing and they dont refund your money like they do in a supermarket or bunnings they just give you a code for a replacement next time

Takeout Restaurant
Fast food restaurant
LJ's Cafe is a rare find with their exceptional fish and chips. The battered fish is perfectly crispy on the outside, while remaining creamy and moist inside. Unlike other places, LJ's batter doesn't leave you feeling queasy; instead, it adds to the overall delicious flavor. Their chips are cooked to perfection - not greasy, but fluffy on the inside. The calamari is panko crumbed and absolutely delightful.
I only spent a short time here, but it was a good one! I stopped by for a quick bite while passing through. The young man taking my order was polite, though there were quite a few customers. He was doing his best to keep the orders moving along. My fish burger was freshly prepared and yummy. What truly amazed me was the price, which I felt was value for money.

We were looking for a good old fish and chips shop for lunch after a morning at the beach Just wanted the big wrapped up package of chips with some fish and scallops, covered in the chicken salt…. You know, walk in sand on the feet get the package and out👏👏 LJs delivered, they had all the goodness that is bad that fills the hole. The food wasn’t the greatest ever in the world of fish and chips but it was pretty good. If your in the Anna Bay and surrounding area this is the go to for the goodness.

The best fish n chips in Anna Bay. Friendly staff, delicious food and generous potions. Amazing value for money too - just $15 a serve. 😎👍👍

Fish & chips very good. On 9/9/25 a pack for one person is $15.50 and comes with a large piece of fish, enough chips and a lemon wedge. Very nicely done and enough for a hearty appetite.
