Church
The Basilica of St. Anthony is a magnificent Catholic church with Byzantine-style domes and notable artworks, including relics of St. Anthony. Constructed in Gothic style shortly after the saint's death in 1232, it attracts pilgrims from around the world who come to pay homage to the revered friar. The interior is a labyrinth of chapels and corridors housing masterpieces such as Donatello's reliefs on the high altar and expressive sculptural narratives of St.
We took a day trip to Padova from Ferrara. We decided to take it easy just wander round the town looking at the architecture eating and drinking etc! The one place we did actually visit was the Basilica of St Anthony and it was stunning. It's hard to describe in words the majesty of the church. It is one of the most stunning churches I have visited. Was rather amused at them charging for the toilet! Definitely worth a visit.

No tickets required, but dress appropriately! If you have too much skin showing, they will provide covering to wear for 1 Euro. I was very impressed by that, so no one would be turned away! You can wear shorts and short sleeve shirts for comfort in the heat...just not too short. This magnificent place is a must-see!
Stephen M — Google review
The Basilica of St. Anthony is truly my place of strength. Every time I come here, I feel a powerful energy that surrounds and uplifts me. The atmosphere is so unique and deeply spiritual that it’s impossible to leave without feeling renewed and inspired. A must-visit for anyone who wants to experience something beyond the ordinary.
Tatiana — Google review
The exterior is a melange of architectural styles, fairly plain brickwork but with Byzantine minarets and domes reminiscent of the Hagia Sophia of Istanbul. Internally it is pure Gothic with wonderful sculptures and artwork. The scale is vast and the ceilings almost disappear into the distance, many covered by netting to catch falling debris. This is a site of pilgrimage for followers of Saint Anthony and there was a line to enter the chapels containing his relics. The lighting is very dim so the architecture is not shown to best advantage but nevertheless the effect is inspiring.
Herm D — Google review
It was a great blessing and goosebumping experience to have a dharhsan at St. Antony's basilica at Padova. One could feel the positive divine vibration the moment enters into the Basilica. Indeed, we spent more time in the Basilica in prayer and meditation. St. Antony of Padova is the patron saint for lost objects. St. Antony of Padova is widely celebrated saint in South India. We had a opportunity to pray at his cemetery, tonsee his unperished tounge and jaw. His incorruptible relic is housed in this basilica.
Dr R — Google review
Due to our ancestral devotion to St. Anthony, my wife and I made a point to visit Padua, and the cathedral here is truly mesmerizing. Having visited Lisbon as well, we were particularly struck by the abundance of St. Anthony’s relics housed in this beautiful church. You will find St Anthony's pillow stone, uncorrupted tongue of St Anthony, Jaw bone with teeth, vocal apparatus, skin from head, cassock, St Anthony's finger, hair. Plus relics of other saints and items from cross on which Jesus died
John C — Google review
One of the most magnificent basilicas you will ever see. Its fame rests not only on its architectural beauty but also on the spiritual aura that resides within the basilica. It houses the mortal remains of St Antony of Padua. It also has the relics of more than a dozen other saints including St Pope John Paul II. Catholics from all over the world flock to the Basilica throughout the year. One thing that catches our eyes is the altar that has all the relics.
Dr G — Google review
It’s truly a blessing to visit this marvelous church and meet St. Anthony in prayers. Touching the tomb of St Anthony and attending the daily mass were the highlights of our visit in Padua.

Amazing Italian ‘bakery’ food at rock bottom prices. Fresh and delicious! Just make sure you take cash to pay by inserting money in the cash register machine. You can dine in and food can be heated up (when not fresh from the ovens). Poor mobile reception inside so choose before going (if needing Google Translate).

Very nice place, it is located near the train station. Now after the invention of the Arancinotto in few places, they make the shape of the Arancino with the hands, here they make them by hand.so if you want to eat a traditional arancino go here. Very good.

Art Museums
The Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia, also known as the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, is a significant cultural institution in Italy. Situated in Reggio Calabria, it boasts an impressive collection of ancient Greek art and artifacts from the 8th century BC, as well as items from the Roman and prehistoric eras. The museum's expansion has not only modernized its facilities but also strengthened its connection with the city.
A very well-kept museum with beautiful pieces and interesting exhibitions that allow you to learn about Calabria's history. Needless to say, the Bronzi di Riace are a must-see. Our guide was wonderful and explained everything clearly and in detail (my tour was in Italian). You can't miss this place if you're in Reggio!
Jose P — Google review
Excellent museum! We were 2 of 20 people allowed in the room at a time to see the Riace bronzes! What a luxury compared to incredibly packed museums in Rome! It is a beautiful, clean building with clear directions to take you through all the artifacts. The Riace Bronzes are incredible and it’s hard to comprehend how perfect & how old they are. Worth a visit while in the lovely city of Reggio Calabria
Raquel M — Google review
Really worth the visit, particularly enjoyed the smiling figurines on the bottom floor that seemed to be quite typical of the region. Well curated with a chronological structure starting from oldest period on the top floor to earliest, a lot of well preserved artifacts and historical context on these

Very nice museum. Not big, but having impressive two bronze statues from the Greek period in Calabria. Those are two out of totally five survived statues. Manybother interestibg expinats to be seen. You will need about two hours, maximum three, to explore the museum. However worthwike to visit it!
Nenad Z — Google review
The bronze statues are amazing. Admission is free on the first weekend of the month. It's an interesting place to learn a little about the history of Reggio Calabria.
Maria P — Google review
The museum is very well organised and it’s very welcoming. There’s a lot to learn. The statues are also very beautiful but it was very disappointing to see they’re in a room with white walls and no context whatsoever (contrary to the rest of the museum). Good thing we read about them before visiting because otherwise we wouldn’t know exactly what we were looking for.
Rui T — Google review
Wow! Seriously impressed! Perfectly organized with clear paths to follow, explanations in Italian and perfect English, touch panel with 3D reconstructions, perfect diffused lighting. Very interesting collection from the Neolithic and Greek time, very informative, I discovered brand new facts I didn't know (i.e. there were lead bullets you would throw with your hand during war). Impressed despite I've visited Louvre, El Prado, British museum, Vatican museum etc. An unexpected gem
Davide V — Google review
Really interesting explosion about other bronze statues. I felt really immersed in the atmosphere. Also at some point I was the only visitor in that room, which felt very cool. They even let me to come back to see Bronzi statues up close due to the fact it was closed for investigation and could see only through glass.

Ice cream shop
Gelateria Cesare is a renowned ice cream parlor located on the Piazza Indipendenza in Reggio Calabria, Italy. It has been an integral part of the city's history for three generations and is a favorite stop for locals and tourists alike. Despite its small size, it attracts long queues due to its delicious and authentic gelato flavors such as bergamot, pistachio, cassata, and more.
My hubby had the Peanut butter and Carmel Gelato in a brioche bun. I enjoyed Lemon and a scoop of fig in a crispy waffle cone. Both were delicious!! There is no place to sit but the surrounding area is nice for a stroll while you enjoy!
Raquel M — Google review
I recently took a trip to Reggio Calabria, where my dear friend Martina recommended that I try "Gellateria Cesaro." As always, I value her advice. While searching for the gelateria, I noticed the Cesare building, which looked quite different to me, and there was a long queue of people waiting outside. One downside was the number of beggars who kept approaching for a euro or less. However, the staff were very polite and helpful. The variety of ice cream flavors was impressive, making it understandable if someone feels unsure about their choice. I ended up choosing pistachio, biscuits, and chocolate, and the pistachio was definitely the highlight!
Meh R — Google review
Overall, disappointing …. Decent gelato, but not worth the hype. 5€ for a brioche with three scoops. 4€ for a cup with 3 flavours. Whipped cream is free. We tried mandorla, pistachio sorbet, Nutella (cesarella), biscotto, bergamotto, and stracciatella between us. Mandorla was the best, the others were fine but just average. Very very bustling at all times of day!
Jess M — Google review
As a pistachio lover, I felt myself on the 9th cloud here, tasted almost all the flavours available, most of them were 10/10. The only thing is that some of the personal were not as friendly as they could be, I hope it will be improved by my next visit :)
Almaz G — Google review

Please try the serving of gelato in a brioche (bread) 😋 it's really good! How to order? Get in line (dw they move fast) - Pay (cash/card) - choose gelato flavors

An artisanal experience. Its pistachio varieties stand out. It's not uncommon to see people stop their cars, yielding to the temptation of a sweet break. This ritual is the best testament to the magic of this place. A grateful palate.

The Soul of Reggio - A Beautiful Walk with Epic Views. This is an absolutely amazing place for a walk along the sea. The promenade is wide and beautiful, but what makes it truly breathtaking is the stunning view of Mount Etna in the background across the strait to Sicily. The area is clearly the heartbeat of the city and is always buzzing with great energy. During our visit, it seemed like there was always something happening, from a gelato festival to live music, which added to the fantastic atmosphere. My advice is simple: take a long walk, find a good restaurant with a sea view, and just enjoy the incredible sunset and the wonderful vibes. A must-do experience when in Reggio Calabria.

I dined with a friend at Banzai Reggio Calabria, indulging in two sushi appetizers. The menu caught our attention with the enticing "Myla Yoshi" option, a delightful alcoholic beverage. I must give credit to the skilled barlady Maura for her exquisite fruit-infused creation. The experience left me thoroughly satisfied as it was my first time experiencing such delectable flavors.
Extremely helpful staff, especially if your Italian is not that great. HUGE menu with excellent choices. The Nigiri was on point and my burger was excellent! If you’re looking for a change from Italian food (crazy, I know) this is the place! Add to that, they have a club atmosphere, indoor and out dining, espresso, lunch, dinner, baked goods, and a full bar! So glad I stopped in!

I was excited to eat here yesterday, it looked really good from the street. The service i received was good. I had the Samurai Burger, chips and a Spritz. My food and drink were delicious. When going to pay it didn't sound right and I questioned it. The chips were put through as large and I ordered small. I barely ate half there were so much. The cashier quickly corrected this no problem. However, when returning to my hotel I noticed the spritz was overcharged by 1 euro. I'd screenshot the menu and the price didn't match my receipt. Pretty poor form really.
Coral C — Google review
I have been walking past for a few days and desiring to have their food as per advertisement on all you can eat sushi. Meanwhile when we got seated the service was prolly carried. We have had questions about the set menus and all you can eat and didn’t understand the waiter and asked to talk to manager. They nodded and made faces right in front of us. Unfortunately we decided not to have any food there due to poor and unfriendly service. Also the stickers on advertisement offer free beers and there is a catch on the add including the small letters for the days and the sushi menu would not include beers, even having the sticker add right beside it.
Marcel C — Google review
The food was really tasty, and the pizza was excellent – unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our visit. We opted for the "all you can eat" option with the whole family – five people, including two small children. The problems started when, after the first course and ordering drinks, we wanted to order more. The staff began avoiding us – although they collected our empty plates and glasses, our requests for additional orders and drinks were completely ignored by two different waiters. The atmosphere became uncomfortable and frustrating, so we asked for the bill. The whole situation was embarrassing and made us feel very uneasy – we definitely won’t be returning to this restaurant.

The food was great, very fresh and plenty of it for a great price. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere nice.

Probably the worst restaurant I've been to in my whole life! Terrible service and disgusting food! I would not recommend this place
Abbe O — Google review
All you can eat Japanese for €26 Euros. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. The restaurant itself is very modern and clean with comfortable tables.

Lovely food and staff. Great place to go when you're not sure what you want as it has loads of options (60-page menu 😵‍💫😭).

Pizza restaurant
Pizza Roma is a popular pizzeria located in the heart of Italy. The quality of their pizza has remained consistently excellent over the years, and the staff are known for being friendly and accommodating. While parking can be a challenge due to its central location, this doesn't detract from the overall experience. The arancini is highly recommended by both locals and visitors, and the staff are always willing to assist with any inquiries.
Delicious pizza, good value for the money (I paid ca 10€ for two large pizza slices + a lemonade)
Anna G — Google review
Good location of the pizzeria, also open during lunch hours. Pleasant service and clean tables, but average fast food. The pizza dough was very hard and only 1 of the 4 types that we had tasted fresh. 2 of them were cold.
Natália H — Google review
Well done. Open during siesta! Very tasty. Very fast. Great value for money. Kind staff will make any pizza from the menu even if you want just a single slice. Beware "one slice" is close to half of the pizza!

Nice price and delicious pizza… Try only with cold beer))))
Ivan P — Google review
First time the staff was pleasant and nice. They told us to choose and seat and pay after. The pizza was really good. Second time a different young man was attebding and he was utterly rude to us when asked about the kinds of pizza already made ( as we were in hurry and wanted to eat what was already there). I can't deacribe the level of disgust this man had towards me, 50 years old lady, maybe because I was a foreign? Or a lady? Not sure. But defenitky this person had no one that raised him to be a decent human being. So sad because other staff saw the way he treated and didnt say anything. So we dont recommend at all.

Good location of the pizzeria, also open during lunch hours. Pleasant service and clean tables, but average fast food. The pizza Is really good, dough was very hard After few min, than the prices are a bit hige

Always on top! Used to eat here a lot when we lived in Italy and I’m so happy to came back after years and find that the quality is still on top! Employees are super friendly and nice, the pizza is delicious and the ambient amazing as well! The parking are kinda problem because it’s exactly in the middle of the city and if you’re lucky enough to find a parking spot, 99% of the time you need to pay for it, but that’s not really an issue from the pizzeria. Will come back again and again because like already said: always on top!
Elena S — Google review
Pizza Roma is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen, 3.50 for basically a good size pizza and it’s convient and easy like the food already in front of you just pick which one you want and the reheat it up really fast and it’s not what you think when you say reheated food, it’s great I ate their twice today, 10/10

Restaurant
If you're looking for a budget-friendly Italian eatery with delicious food and welcoming service, DON PA FOOD is a must-visit. Despite the language barrier, the servers are friendly and helpful, making the experience smooth. The margherita pizza is a flavor explosion and one of the best around. It's an easy spot to order food with nice service and great value for money.
We’ve been touring through Italy now for two weeks beginning in Rome. And although the food here is delicious after two weeks you get burned out on pizza and pasta. This place was the first amazing salad we had since we’ve been here and on par with American salad shops like Sweetgreen and Chop’t. Maybe not as much variety but the ingredients were all very fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful despite us not speaking any Italian and worked with us kindly and patiently as we selected our salad ingredients. We would thoroughly recommend you pay them a visit especially if you’re looking for a healthier option and lighter fare for dinner or lunch. Prices were very reasonable as well. Two large salads and two soft drinks was only 22 euros!

Great stop before going to the archeological museum. We didn’t want anything fried so we had a grande insalata and a Toast-maxi. There was a salad bar which was great.

We were waiting 30 minutes just for sandwiches, some of them were cold, i ordered sandwich called “lamfa”, in the menu they said that it has guacamole in it, but when my sandwich arrived, there wasnt any guacamole, instead there was chopped olives with specific sause. all of those ingredients made my sandwich too salty and combination wasnt tasty.

Fresh ingredients, good service and a modern atmosphere :)

I stumbled upon this Italian gem and was pleasantly surprised by the affordability. We ordered a margherita pizza and two cans of Coca-Cola for just 11 euros as takeout. Despite the language barrier, the servers' friendliness and our trusty Google Translate made the experience smooth. As for the pizza, it was a flavor explosion; one of the best I've ever tasted! If you're in the area, this budget-friendly spot with delicious food and welcoming service is a must-visit.

If you want to enjoy variante food- very fair price
Hana — Google review
Fairly high rating because it does what it is supposed to do very well. Fast food, low price, with an emphasis on veggies and salad. Great place for lunch if you are in a hurry or are tired of pizza and pasta.
Mandes K — Google review
Food looked good but the experience was chaotic. No indication of where you should order and no dietary information on the food. There are so many tables crushed in a small space and you cannot hear yourself think. Left without ordering to find somewhere more organised. Disappointing
