Avoid the high-numbered camping sites!
The scenery is amazing, and there's enough space for large RVs, but if you reserve a site in the high-number loop, you will be far away from the bathrooms (about half a mile - on a dirt trail!) And won't have WiFi reception...
So it's 5 stars if you are near the bathroom and the WiFi, 3 if you are not.
Oh, yeah - make sure you take a site with power connection, especially in the hot season - an AC is a must during the day, but generator hours are really limited.

Ten bucks to park and worth every penny. You get clean trails, friendly staff, and some of the best hiking views in Arizona. I hit Flatiron while I was there, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The climb hits hard but rewards you with views that make you forget how much your legs are complaining.
The park is spotless, the trails are clearly marked, and even the bathrooms were clean which is rare enough to deserve a shout-out. Bring water, snacks, and a camera because every turn looks like it should be a postcard. If you live in Arizona or you’re just passing through, go here. Hike, explore, get dusty, and enjoy one of the best slices of the desert you’ll ever see.

Camping prices went up to $50/spot, which, without sewer, is steep in my opinion. We stayed in the 75-104 loop and I don't recommend it for big rigs - it is tight. There are also no restrooms on this loop. We appreciated the trails, restrooms were clean but a bit run down. Note that there is very little shade in the campground or on the trails so be prepared with water, sunscreen, and hats.

The museum itself is inside the visitor center and is quite small. A lot of artifacts and history but may not be interesting or engaging for smaller kiddos. The gift shop and volunteers are definitely worth the trek inside though! Outside is where all the action is!! There's a wonderful walking trail around the museum with smaller ones winding through all the displays. There's also signage and explanations for many of the displays on the trails. We were confused by the little numbers throughout the walk, apparently somebody was going to do a plant walk but it never got completed! Hopefully the model train is running when you visit because that is a great journey through the old west. There's a scavenger hunt for the kiddos (and adults) that really makes you look close!

The Elvis chapel from the movie Charroland the Apacheland barn which were both moved from the original movie set from there original location off Kings Ranch Rd in Gold Canyon. There is a small museum and gift shop. The museum covers the local history of the superstition mountain and Lost Dutchman mine folklore. On certain days during the mostly the fall /winter season they have local historians talk about the history of the area. The visit should take about a hour or two at the most.

I am a stickler for random things and history is my love language. While the museum itself is quite small the lot itself has some great items. I came specifically to see the Elvis Presley Memorial Chapel that was donated years ago and moved from its original location at the movie lot it was at. My mom was the biggest Elvis fan and this chapel was part of his only film ever made where he did not sing. If you’re an Elvis fan you know that’s a big deal. They now hold weddings and other events here. It looks great outside. Inside it holds some movie memorabilia etc. fun stop and my mom would’ve loved it.

Took the one hour jeep tour. It was very enjoyable. Fast Eddy was our guide and he was funny and informative. I thought driving through the desert was gonna be pretty lame, but was a great off-road tour with lots of interesting hills and washes. Highly recommend this tour group.

We had such a great experience with Apache Jeep Tours! Jan was so lovely and wonderful to work with from booking the reservation through the day of our Jeep Tour. The kids had fun on the super short ride. I believe they should have a 5-point safety harness vs. one single strap. No wait. Pricing could be a lot better. This review is long over due! My son has autism and is nonverbal. I have been bringing him to Ghost Town for his bday for the last few years. He enjoys it, I enjoy it, and the views are amazing! My son especially loves the zip line. He asks to go to GT specifically for it. the gentleman running the zip line is wonderful and patient with my son. He is understanding of his disability which makes it easier for me to continue the tradition of brining him for his bday.

What a great experience! I took my 11 year old son for his birthday! (We have been a couple times over the years) The man running it was so nice and he even remembered my son’s name when we came back at the end of our day! He mentioned that in April of 2024 they extended the zip line to make it longer and taller. They also made it to where you sit at the top for 7seconds. And you can tell, it was totally worth it! Don’t let the name fool you! Superstitions OK Carrol Stables is anything but ok! My group of 4 went out for their 4:30 pm beginners horseback ride and it was not only beautiful scenery but wonderful temperature for this time of year. You can tell the horses are well taken care of, treated very well and respected. Our guide, Mike, was absolutely fantastic! He read our group’s energy and vibe very well and kept us laughing the whole time while keeping us safe. We were all beginners and some were more nervous than others, but everyone felt comfortable and safe the whole time and all eventually loosened up by the end. The horses they chose for everyone definitely matched our group well and needed very little guidance, but when they did they followed everything perfectly. It was a lot of fun getting on and off the horses in the traditional way vs using a ladder or step stool. Would absolutely take another ride with them, especially with Mike. We had an absolute blast!

The horses were so well cared for & seemed to enjoy being around people. The entire operation was well run & I felt comfortable allowing my grandkids & daughter to trail ride on the horses.
Mike was our guide & he is really knowledgeable about the history of the Superstition Mountain area. The views were breathtaking, the horses were awesome, & the entire experience was amazing.
We went early in the morning so the sun was still bearable. Martina made sure we were hydrated & had the proper safety equipment if desired.

I don't know what was higher, my score or the number of golf balls I lost in the desert. That said, I did get a par on the Island green and the screwdrivers at the turn really got my driver working. Would recommend for anyone trying to hit fairways, find roadrunners, and hit their long clubs a lot. Just watch out for the freeway on hole 10, especially if you think you're going to bomb one down the middle.

Course in good shape for not being a course that truly overseeds in the winter time. Greens and shoulders overseeded and real good shape. The price point very good, seeing how a lot of courses are still over 100+ dollars to play.
Had a 6:15am tee time, start was a little behind, and sent us off at 6:22am. I remember this because starter wrote on golf cart in sharpie on the advertisement board above on the cart the start time. Apparently, that is how this course maintains pace of play for the ranger on course to know where each group is at. We were approached by the ranger on hole 4 saying we were behind by 14 minutes off of pace. Unfortunately we had nowhere to go as we were pressing the group in front of us, and we mentioned that to him. He was not in a good mood, and preceeding on to figure out what group was holding everyone up.
The worst part was we never saw a ranger on the back, never saw a beverage cart until the end of our round. Pace slowed down incredibly on the back. With there not being housing around and it being a traditional style course with back-to-back holes, there were several cross fairway arrant shots going everywhere. Pretty dangerous, not to say that my ball was picked up on two holes on the back. I was in play on the fairways for the holes I was playing, so there shouldn't of been any reason why a ball was swiped. I believe when you stack to many groups to close to each other to get max play each day this scenario is always going to happen.
All said, I will not be returning to play at Apache Creek Golf Club for a while, as these elements resulted in a poor experience. I used to play this course every week in a group last year and never experienced anything like this before. Not any result of how I played either, because I played well, just wish those elements had not occurred, would have been more enjoyable.

Anyway- he opened the store specially for me & my friend, graced us with stories of his expeditions and explanations of the formations of rocks/gems when I asked.
They not only have precious gem stones that were harvested locally, but an amazing collection of dinosaur bones (available to purchase), fossils, books, minerals sold by the pound and more!
I definitely recommend checking this shop out- they are very reasonably priced and you never know what you might learn from the treasure hunter who runs the store :)

Just came back and it was an awesome experience. The owner is wonderful and has a colorful background as well as being a published author and a pleasure talk to and do business with.
My wife recently got into rock tumbling so we went to see what we could find.
While there is amazingly beautiful stuff in the gift shop my wife found a host of cool rocks in the bins outside for her new hobby. Not only did we leave with those but she left with a gorgeous necklace and earing set from the shop as well!!
NOTE: google maps will put you into some crazy 1.8 mile dirt road trek. Just aint so. On the west side of apache trail just past the Goldfield ghost town you will find a sign on the side of the road that points out a stable and Mammoth Rock Shop. It is on the same side of the road as the ghost town. Turn in and go up a short path to a parking lot where you will find a sign to a foot path leading to the shop. Short walk down from the parking lot and you are at the store front.

I love this place. I took my daughter from Germany there on her visit to the states and she loved it. There are so many different types of souvenirs and if you love rocks, it's that much better. I've been to a few dinner shows, and this was probably one of the best ever!
Let's start with the food. I was expecting "cafeteria style" average food. Nope! It was a very delicious pot roast with mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, salad, and a dinner roll. Oh, and did I mention they also had BBQ pork ribs and BBQ chicken? I've never been known to shy away from food and your homeboy had the meat sweats! Oh man, was dinner good!!!
They also had THE BEST root beer I've ever had and I consider myself a root beer connoisseur! My wife had the most amazing root beer float.
Then, the show was absolutely fantastic. I play in a band so I know how difficult it is to play with that many musicians and all the different genres of music. These musicians were incredible! I was amazed at their technical skills from the steel drum, to the slide guitar, to the brass instruments, to the violin/fiddle players... I could not believe the talent level.
I am hooked and am planning on taking family and friends to future shows!

The food was okay, the show was okay. My hold out is the price and that they ask you to be there quite early compared to when food is served or the show starts. So hopefully you go with people you want to talk to for over an hour while you sit and wait.

We loved the Variety Show that we saw last night, and highly recommend it! The dinner was served table service style and was very efficient, with friendly wait staff, some of whom were family members and performers. We both thought the food was excellent, better than we'd expected. They had good substitutions for my dietary restrictions (baked potato instead of mashed, beans instead of a roll). There was a choice of chicken or ribs, a good salad, and potatoes. We really were not sure what to expect regarding the show, but the musicians were top notch professionals and many had played with well-known touring bands (e.g., someone from the Kingston Trio, but the list goes on and on). Most played multiple instruments (everything from slide guitar to steel drums) and there were many good vocalists. The trap drum player was one of the Barleen sisters, and being a percussionist myself, I was really impressed. Great variety of music. It's a down-to-earth rather than "Las Vegas" style production, which we enjoyed. We were smiling, laughing, rocking in our seats, and all in all had a fantastic evening. Cocktails are good and reasonably priced, plus they offer free non-alcoholic beverages. Most people we talked to there go to multiple shows a season. We may become that as well when in town. I highly recommend it. They do a great job! Also when you come in the door they look you up by name, no tickets to download, etc.

First time here and it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere is pretty nice and the service was fast. Our food came out so quick and it was fresh. We had the grande house margaritas and they’re really good. I had the chicken fajitas and hubby got the shredded pork chimichanga. The portions were large so it’s worth the price. I've been to Apache Junction on multiple different occasions but this was the first time I had the pleasure of trying Los Gringos Locos. While staying at the Motel Six down the road my fiance asked the lady at the counter where she'd recommend to go for good Mexican Cuisine. She immediately suggested Los Gingos Locos. So to the restaurant we went! And what a wonderful choice it was indeed! The food and service were very good. Immediately got seated and had a great time looking at the wall art. I will say that out of the food we had the pork burrito thingy was simple incredible!! I would drive all the way back to Arizona just to have that again! MINI CHIMI PLATTER - 6 House made mini chimis, 2 bean (flour tortilla), 2 chicken (whole wheat tortilla), and 2 shredded beef (chipotle chili tortilla), topped with cheddar cheese, tomatoes and green onions. Served with sour cream and guacamole.- and they substituted out the shredded beef for 2 more bean chimis. They seemed to like their dinner, so I’d say this is a recommended dish.
Salmon taco. I tried to take a picture but it was far away, so the quality of the image is foul, but the taco was good 👍.
SEAFOOD CHIMICHANGA -Our seafood combo wrapped in a flour tortilla and deep fried. Covered in poblano cream sauce and jack cheese. Topped with tomatoes and green onion. Served with sour cream, guacamole, black beans and poblano rice.- 2 members of our party ordered this and they both liked it. Would recommend.
COMBO PLATTER: Green Corn Tamale, cheese enchilada, served with beans and rice - I ordered this and the green corn tamale was FANTASTIC! I’ve never had one before. Where I’m from, the only tamales you can get are generally pork, so to have a vegetarian option was amazing to me. The flavors and textures were perfect. Would definitely recommend.
The service was sort of spotty. As you can from when we left, there was nobody inside, but maybe everyone left before we did? Our server was not as attentive as I would’ve liked, and we asked for hot sauce for the chips and salsa (like spicy hot sauce) 4 times before she eventually brought it, as she kept forgetting about it when she would bring things to the area for other diners. She did apologize each time for forgetting, and said she would be right back with it, but we were waiting for it to eat the chips. Not a HUGE deal, but mildly annoying. I am slightly a Karen 🤣, but I have worked in service, so I understand busy days or just a bad day for the employee (which I assume must’ve been happening because it didn’t seem that busy and I saw multiple other servers working). Anyway, for that reason I’m leaving 4 stars for service, not 5 stars overall.

They have it broken up into sections, they have walls of local businesses that you can support if you choose to, they have some art on the walls that you can purchase (pictures of Arizona), lots of information available, big parking lot, can't go wrong if you're looking for finding something to do.

I've been going to the dog run saloon for about 7 years now and it's always been a love-hate relationship as far as the service and the food go. The atmosphere is what you would expect for a dive bar. There's karaoke... love it ...love my friends who go to karaoke...but the food lately is lacking. Fish fry used to be nice big pieces of fish now we got fish sticks and I do believe we're either paying the same price or more. This is not a good thing and will turn into a very bad thing when the winter visitors get here. If the price goes lower when the winter visitors come that will be a slight to those of us who live here year-round and frequent the dog run saloon year round. I do believe we keep the place afloat during the summer. The wings that I asked to be well done and crispy with the side of blue cheese were not well done and crispy. I received two other sauces besides the blue cheese ..not sure why. All of the sauces were very good, especially the chipotle. I share the same feelings as others who have expressed inconsistencies with the service. It is not just one bartender or another. My favorite bartender is Jennifer because her personality is so upbeat and she remembers what I drink. She always gets me my drink as soon as I arrive even before I ask most times. Instead of putting this review I would have preferred to be able to get in touch with the new owners by phone or email but I didn't see any email on the website and the phone always rings no answer. Total hole in the wall/dive bar but I don't know that I even feel nice about seeing that. I love this place and they have four pool tables the only four pool tables I'm aware of in Apache Junction. The bartenders are sassy the drinks are heavy and the prices are more than fair. Don't get me started on the food everything on the menu is incredible their steak dinner deal is better than anywhere else in the valley for the portion and quality you get the pounded pork sandwich is the size of a small pizza it's incredible. Don't expect anything fancy here this is a real bar. They do have a jukebox if you're willing to pay for the music sometimes if you ask the bartenders will give you a few free coins. What an amazing hike. If you do your research this is considered a moderate hike and is about a 2.3 mile loop depending on what lot you park in nearby. If you aren’t an experienced hiker, maybe just starting to hike and not in the best shape I recommend starting clockwise on the trail for an easier start and descent. Counter Clockwise is more rocky and elevation gain pretty steady. The views from the top are worth the heavy breathing. There’s also a bench to sit and enjoy it before heading down the other side. We saw many Big Horn Sheep as well. Trail is well maintained and marked well for most of it. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Used to really like this place and had posted a great review but after today no longer will I go here. New owner not only raised the price but charges extra for things like different types of cones without saying anything. The old owner would build a nice solid cone and make sure you would be happy. The new owner gave me this cone and charges me over $5. All I got was what was supposed to be 2 scoops but there was so much space between scrapes of ice cream with the scoop it was hardly anything and definitely not worth the money. I was appalled when he handed it to me. He didn't say anything. So my previous post recommending this place has been deleted and by the pictures you will see why. I will go to cold stone over on signal butte or frys from now on. $5 really. You should be ashamed.

There was some really cool souvenir items too and local nifty treats like sauces and candies.
The thing I noticed was because it seems to be cheaper and discounted the quality isn’t always there. Some of the fruit was starting to go bad or didn’t seem like it would last too long if not utilized upon purchasing.
It’s a great place to check though especially if you’re on a budget. Just be conscious of this fact.
They had a large variety of fruit though including exotics I’d never heard of before.

The park itself seems like a good place for outdoor events. Parking was just across the street behind some businesses. They had a 3 stall women's bathroom with an adjoining men's bathroom 🚻. There was a nice water bottle refill station and drinking fountain between. Not hilly and no steps. Easy for motorized wheelchairs.
We were here today for a blues and bruise and arts festival.. They had a great lineup of music of music, and a variety of food trucks and vendors. There were several areas of port a potties in addition to the permanent bathrooms.
Now if you're an entitled jerk, you might want to complain that you have to stand in line just like the regular peasants who also bought their tickets ahead of time. But for me going to the festival was part of part of standing outside in A-line. Maybe people should reassess theireassess their expectations of how special they should be treated just because they can pay 25 bucks for a ticket like I did.

I take my dogs here every morning for a run on the beautifully manicured grass. There is a water park in the Pavilion area that the kids can run through on the hot summer days there is restrooms with showers covered picnic and areas barbecues. This is one of the most beautiful well taken care of parks I have ever seen, and we are fortunate enough to have an Apache Junction. Birthday celebrations anniversaries family get-togethers it is absolutely the best. I recommend you bring your family friends and everybody for a great afternoon or morning of playing with the kids or the animals.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Beware of unauthorized money taken from your credit card account with no explanation. I came upon an authorized amount of $91.58 taken from my account with not explanation. When I called about it I was told it was for electric bill. (Each individual is responsible for paying electric separately for this usage while staying on lot). The fact is I left the morning of Feb 24, 2025 and informed office on way out. I have no problem with lot fee as I was booked until Mar. 1st as far as leaving earlier. I do have a problem with being charged for metered Electric 5 days when I was not there. I did not receive a bill nor did I authorize payment. I am happy to pay a prorated bill for the days my 5th wheel was physically there. I am telling others you cannot trust Countryside RV resort in Apache Junction. I wonder how many other people they have stolen money from.

The park has many great people that stay here for months. The management in charge has decided to not allow any trailers in the park. you can have 40 foot fifth wheel trailer is ok. Any other trailer they say is not allowed. Many of the people that come here for the winter enjoy riding side by sides. If they come in with a trailer they are told to leave. Management even goes so far as to tell people that have been coming for 10-15 if they do not like they can leave. And they will rent to some one else. The management needs to worry about the garbage. Park is not much more then 50% full and the garbage is over the top 3 time a week. Management has turned many away becuse of them having small trailers. Not good business.

I can't go in there, but as far as I can tell everything is kept clean and spotless in there. They do an outstanding job of keeping the whole park clean. I found this place by accident. I was headed to Goodwill. I can never NOT go to a Goodwill wherever I may be. I can say they have an amazing amount of items there!! I could’ve spent hours 😂 But I was on a time limit😢 since our flight left that day. However, I will be back and make sure to visit the Mall of Peddlers first!! I don’t have pictures of everything, just pictures of random stuff that doesn’t do the place justice (maybe I was in awe and wonder😁) but I was amazed at how much special glassware that was there, the creativity & craftsmanship displayed in original works of art, and the variety of items was outstanding!!

I love this place. We've started bringing out of town guests here for a special treat. The food is great. We've had both family style dining and salmon while enjoying the great shows. We've seen several shows there and they were all great. The family style dining was very good, and unlike some other reviewers, we were not disappointed in the quality of the food. The beef ribs were nice and tender, the chicken and dressing was very moist and cooked perfectly, and the ham was good and flavorful. I agree with other reviewers that the baked beans are the best anywhere, and the rolls and raisin bread were nice and fresh. The last time were there for a show we got the salmon which was excellent...my personal favorite. The best salmon I've ever had anywhere. Cooked to perfection and so nice and moist. We have also been to the Dutchman's Hideout and had their baby back ribs which were excellent.

I have done this hike a few times with a friend, and let me tell you, it’s absolutely GORGEOUS at sunrise. Located near the city of Apache Junction, you can see some of the trails off the freeway.
We get there while it’s still dark out, so that we can catch the sunrise while at the top. I would say this hikes at this location are easy-moderately (depending on your hiking abilities) challenging, so wear the right hiking shoes. One good thing about this hike is, I never see bikers, maybe due to the elevation and narrow trails.
Plenty of parking if you are an early bird. If you hike in the summer, it is direct sunlight.

Please pick up after your dog!!! I have hiked these trails for nearly 15 years, and love getting in a quick 2 miles after work. As the sun drops you can often hear owls hooting on the further trails. Gorgeous views of the majestic Superstition Mountains and sounds of wildlife.

BRV I campground was excellent with water and electric hook ups thank goodness we needed them because it got 100° by mid afternoon. Such a beautiful hiking spot! I brought my dog here early yesterday morning and we both really enjoyed it. I took this gorgeous picture of the sun rising from the side of the mountain, the views from up high are incredible! There were also a good amount of other people hiking there with kids, dogs, and family & friends, but not so many that it felt crowded. It was very peaceful and quiet. The trails are marked, and there are several restoration areas as you're making your way up, where you can sit and rest for a few mins. Parking is free and there are plenty of parking spots, there's easily enough space for 30 cars... possibly more. Make sure to bring plenty of water and a hiking buddy!

We visited in March and the weather was perfect for this scenic hike. You get 360 views, from the Superstition Mountains on one side, down through Santan Valley in the other direction! We hiked with our 6 and 10 year old kids. They did great. A few steeper treks that work up a sweat, and lots of loose rocks, so watch your step. Busy generally, it’s a mild to moderate hike. The foliage was beautiful!! They also have a leprechaun hunt throughout the trail to keep the kids on the lookout!

The museum itself is inside the visitor center and is quite small. A lot of artifacts and history but may not be interesting or engaging for smaller kiddos. The gift shop and volunteers are definitely worth the trek inside though! Outside is where all the action is!! There's a wonderful walking trail around the museum with smaller ones winding through all the displays. There's also signage and explanations for many of the displays on the trails. We were confused by the little numbers throughout the walk, apparently somebody was going to do a plant walk but it never got completed! Hopefully the model train is running when you visit because that is a great journey through the old west. There's a scavenger hunt for the kiddos (and adults) that really makes you look close!

15 acres site with several different attractions. The Elvis chapel from the movie Charroland the Apacheland barn which were both moved from the original movie set from there original location off Kings Ranch Rd in Gold Canyon. There is a small museum and gift shop. The museum covers the local history of the superstition mountain and Lost Dutchman mine folklore. On certain days during the mostly the fall /winter season they have local historians talk about the history of the area. The visit should take about a hour or two at the most.

I am a stickler for random things and history is my love language. While the museum itself is quite small the lot itself has some great items. I came specifically to see the Elvis Presley Memorial Chapel that was donated years ago and moved from its original location at the movie lot it was at. My mom was the biggest Elvis fan and this chapel was part of his only film ever made where he did not sing. If you’re an Elvis fan you know that’s a big deal. They now hold weddings and other events here. It looks great outside. Inside it holds some movie memorabilia etc. fun stop and my mom would’ve loved it.

I love this place! Such an iconic western vibe. The Elvis chapel with the Superstitions nestled in the back really bring out a random mix and twist of beauty. The museum is actually very well done and articulates the early western films that were created near the Superstitions. It was surprising to see actor boot prints in concrete on display. My kids were able to pan for fools gold and we watched a cowboy shootout; what a fun family place!
