Fast das gesamte Personal wirkt wenig motiviert und es mangelt an Herzlichkeit. Abendessen waren wir im Hotel nicht, wenig Auswahl, Pizza gibt’s nur hin und wieder und überteuert. Schade, wir können das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis passt unserer Meinung gar nicht.

The gym was well-equipped, also with a view over the beach, and the spa and treatments were wonderful. We booked a full body massage and facial for a decent price considering it was a two hour treatment, and left feeling very refreshed and pampered. Service was very friendly throughout. The only things that let it down slightly were that the breakfast was only continental, and while there was a decent range of options for cereals and pastries, the bread and cheese selection was a bit disappointing; and that our bathroom didn't seem to have any working ventilation, so removing the steam after a shower had to be done by leaving the bathroom door open and hoping it would dry out!

The hotel staff could not have done more to ensure a smooth running event and were so incredibly helpful with even the silliest requests. Every part of the wedding reception meal was so beautifully presented and delicious, my dairy intolerance was very well catered for. Wish I had got names of the super helpful staff but all of the team were a credit to the hotel I hope they get the recognition they deserve. The bridal party were so well looked after in the morning that it meant we had a very chilled and super enjoyable day and evening. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, especially to anyone thinking of holding an event here, really exceptional service in a beautiful location.

Mussels to start were lovely, however despite it stating they came with “warm crusty bread” I had to ask for some, and was given a roll. It completely exceeded our expectations! We knew about the view obviously but the work done on the refurb was a really lovely surprise. It’s really lovely and made the experience all the more special. The lunch itself - roast beef and all the trimmings was also 10/10! More often than not eating out for a Sunday roast can disappoint but this was not the case here. The beef was so tender and was generously portioned. After sharing an amazing chocolate cheesecake we both left with bursting bellies! Both of our servers were fantastic too and deserve mention as since COVID the general public can be very difficult! The refurb looks stunning, it was already a nice place to stop and have a drink on the roof terrace or in the bar but now it is a must stop! We had surf and turf, pork belly and red Thai curry. All were really good. Service excellent - professional but friendly. The best bit- dogs are allowed in most of the areas which makes it easy for us to dine out here. We went, without booking, for a Sunday evening meal and were pleased to be found a table in a busy restaurant. The views are simply magnificent. They must be one of the best in the world…yes, that good. The staff, mainly youngsters, perhaps from a local school, tried hard and were attentive and polite. However, it was rather noisy with a child crying for at least some of the time. The muzac was too loud, which inevitably encourages loud conversation. My wife’s meal was changed without notification or consultation and appeared without one menued item. Some of mine was tepid, the rest cold. The beef was not pink. To their credit when they discovered it was my birthday they waived the charge for 2 glasses of wine, which was of course much appreciated. Would I go again? If you’re visiting St.Ives then this place should definitely be on the top of your “to-do” list, it’s superb. You won’t find better views and the decor has a real feel of luxury and relaxation. We have been coming to the locality as a couple usually twice a year, for the last 5-years or so and somehow we’ve never been here before. I’ll tell you why actually…. the menu didn’t particularly appeal to us. We hadn’t realised it’s had a re-vamp but had decided to just finally try it - and my god we’re so glad we did!!! I waited patiently and cheekily started grazing on my wife’s the steak n prawns 🤣 but it didn’t arrive. I raised it with the team after 10 mins who apologised explaining there was a mix up with tables moving or something, another 5 mins and it arrived. Shame, as the food was very, very good/tasty. I know these things can happen so I’ll let it slide this time, especially as the girls were very friendly/apologetic. We are local to St Ives and try get to the newly refurbished Pedn Olva for breakfast whenever we can. The breakfast rolls are great wonderful with a stunning view to match over St Ives bay. The food is always fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked & the coffee is great. Crystal and Louise are incredibly friendly and attentive, both are reals credits to the Pedn Olva and a great advert for the place. Their prescence always makes the experience extra special. Highly recommended to anybody whether you’re a couple, have children or dogs.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful and our room in the courtyard was spotless and cosy and perfect. The food was lovely in the restaurant and all the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a lovely resort with beautiful grounds and fantastic views of St Ives. Every staff member encountered was friendly and helpful, and I honestly couldn’t fault the facilities - packed full of stuff to do. My only criticism would be the room. Granted, I paid for the cheaper option so I knew the room (within the castle) would be smaller than other offerings there. It was clean and bright, however, the room was boiling, even with the heating off, the bed - although a double - was really small and we both struggled to share it and sleep comfortably together. The bathroom did have black mould above the shower, quite a large patch. This was reported to the receptionist as we checked out and to be fair to her she was very apologetic about it and made me aware she would have it attended to. In spite of this, we would absolutely 100% would return and I would hate for my review to put anyone off, just be honest. We had a great time here and I’m sure anyone else would too, I would just suggest paying a bit extra and opting for a larger/more deluxe bedroom.

When we mentioned that there was tables online we were advised all the bookings shave just started coming in! I walked out and went back online which allowed me to book a table for 5 minutes later! Went back in to be greeted by the same lady who told me they were still fully booked and the system shouldn’t have allowed me to book! However on Monday evening I booked a table for guests and the service was terrible it started with a 3/4 hour wait then when the “ small plate” fish and chips came out x 3 “ small plate” was an user statement it was presented in a ramekin and the fish would fit on a dessert spoon and between 4 and 6 chips! Its a brilliant location and the staff are friendly. Unfortunatly it obviously doesnt get cleaned as the dust on the walls, bed headboards and bedside table lamps is pretty bad. The shower room has black mould and someones tooth brushing remains left in. We booked a seaview room but have a view of a brick wall. This is the second time within a couple of months we have stayed. Last time we had a family room which was also unclean. Its cheap and cheerfull and very dated. We have stayed again due to the price and the location being so close to the beach and train station. Im not sure id stay again as the walls are so thin you can hear conversations from the next rooms, peoples tvs, even someones shower (thought it was raining), footsteps on the stairs and the countless firedoors slamming shut all right by our room. No good if your a light sleeper. It has such potiental to be a lovely hotel. The little gift shop by reception is lovely and the eating areas are pleasant with the bay windows and sea views. Reception staff are lovely and lady on the desk made a fuss of my little girl which she loved.

I asked a young lad with shaved head if he worked there, he said yes but its my day off so am not speaking to you. Charming, all I wanted to know was were the nearest pub was. Paint coming off skirting boards leak marks on ceiling single glazed window that doesn't close properly. Nightmare break. Although DIANE GILL PAUL JACK REESE JOEL, all to do with the restaurant were lovely. SILVIU dis apologise for his staffs rudeness & gave us both 1 free drink x 2 nights& 15% off our bill. So when to settle our bill a young receptionist had been told by the rude receptionit to deduct £60 off our bill. Erm 15% off £410 =£62. I told the receptionit this but she said m sorry but NIKKI said £60 only. Am sorry to give this bad review SILVIU but others need to know of our bad experience, we appreciate what you did but, if the room had been bigger & nice it wouldn't have been as bad but £410 for a very tiny room definitely not worth the money. Beds very uncomfortable. Skip outside where mattresses covered in huge urine stains where being thrown into. After seeing those mattresses we wondered what the hell we was lying on. Stay else where. Lots of other decent hotels near by. I'd say this was 1* hotel. Ignore the pics advertising this hotel because its not what you pay for.

We stayed here by pure chance after we booked a hotel down the road which was completely inhabitable amongst a lot of other things which we won’t go into. We called the owners and we were checked in within 15 minutes! This place is absolutely incredible. Spacious room. Amazing view. The host is so nice aswell and couldn’t do enough to help us! She was here within fifteen minutes of our distress call and was so welcoming. I would 100% recommend to friends and family and when we come to St Ives in the future this will be where we stay! On notifying reception all they said was whey could get someone to look at it the next day. The bathroom in general needed major overall and updating. Tears in cushions on chairs and scrapes in walls does not warrant £130 per night. I definitely would not ever stay there again, especially after later finding out that the camp down the hill shares all the facilities. One positive, the food was good. I did not stay in the hotel but went there for lunch. My experience was terrible as the food (3 fish and chips) took 45 minutes to come and, as well as overpriced, came in a tray with paper lining that desintegrated into the food. I tried to remove the paper altogether and when I did I saw the tray was a very old and rusty metal tray with bits of metal coming off. Not only that, the cafe is just next to a swimming pool so you have wet people and kids coming and going. The bathroom is quite disgusting as it is part of the changing room for the swimming pool. A great setup for families who need more space but aren't ready for kids to be totally separate yet. Myself and my two friends were very impressed and our host could not be more helpful. Parking is easy, St Ives is lovely to walk around and the beaches and harbour are lovely too. The coastal path is a challenge in places and well worth the effort. For most walking south ends in the Tinners Arms (see my review for there). Thanks for a lovely short stay. Happy to recommend.

Unfortunately you have to pay for parking away from the property which we found a bit of a nightmare due to the G7 taking place. The breakfast is amazing with lots of choices. We had to create our bubble in our room during our stay so the room wasn't serviced daily, we had to put items outside the door to be replaced. Guest house was very warm, bed was comfy and room was clean. Be warned this property is up a steep hill from the beaches and town of St.Ives. You will definitely need good footwear. All in all we've had a lovely stay despite the weather not being great. Thank you for our stay with you.

And the best part is … as parking is available at The Olive Branch there’s no hassle going out and about! Stress free holidaying! Justin, Julie and George were the perfect hosts. The property is spotless, very comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and of a very high standard - first time we'd had vegetarian sausages and they were superb, as were the mushrooms, cooked to a secret recipe! Even with covid19 felt completely safe with the measures they had in place. Easy access to town, bus and train stations and good parking arrangements. Well located and maintained, with Hiedi and Pete the hosts. Really friendly and welcoming and full of local knowledge of the area and surrounding area. Beds are lovely and soft and comfortable and the room we stopped in had a marvellous view of of Carbis Bay. Breakfast was out of this world as you can choose what you want, the night before when you fill in the slip with the various choices on it. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they will help you in any way they can. They are a very happy couple and are always smiling and take an interest in where you have been and where you can go. Would definitely stay again and have had a relaxing week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Well worth a visit.

We booked a small double room without a sea view on the top floor (the cheapest) and it was actually bigger than expected. The bed was really comfortable. The windows were big and let in lots of light and fresh air. The room was nice and clean. Obviously the en suite was a bit small but that was what we had paid for, so no complaints there, but if you require lots of space I would suggest booking a bigger room. The view from the street is amazing and looks out over the harbour. If you struggle to walk up steep hills, don't attempt to walk up to the hotel as it is up the hill. Overall it was perfect for us, especially for the price. Definitely recommend.

The walls were screaming for help, there was food, stains,grey marks, holes poorly filled with filler and painted with different colour than the rest of the walls. The celling light had a table lampshade… just a lot of weird things. Also if you want to watch tv, don’t bother the tv is so bad quality and sound you will regret it. The carpet is a real mistake as visitors often go to the beach and come back with messy feet and there is no access to vacuum or whatever the sand, it goes everywhere in the floors and it’s nasty. Additionally, on my first night someone at the first floor was playing music for at least 3h after 10pm. I did not feel comfortable. I don’t think I will visit again.

The views and grounds are incredible and rival anything I’ve seen in other parts of the world. For the views alone I’d give the Blue Hayes five stars but there is so much more to love about it. The owner and other staff members were incredibly friendly, welcoming and genuinely nice. They take great pride in everything they do and it shows. It was renovated to high standards and is beautiful. The rooms are done nicely and Molton Brown toiletries are provided (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap). The shower had a regular head plus two body jets which was a nice touch. There is a tub though I would have preferred more storage space in the bathroom instead. The room had a table with two chairs, a vanity table with mirror, a small chest of drawers, closet with hangers, two nightstands and a king bed (two single beds together). The carpet was very plush. Two robes were provided as well as other extras like shoe polish, a sewing kit, shower cap, and a nice nail file. There was a binder filled with helpful information about the hotel and area including menus for room service. I have just three minor Bay Suite room complaints: (1) the sink behind the bathroom door is in a very tight space which makes it harder to wash one’s face because it’s up against the wall. (2) The oscillating fan can only be set for 120 minutes so we had to continually get up in the night to turn it on after it went off after 120 minutes. (3) The pillows were flat and did not offer much support. I prefer foam but feather pillows seem to be popular in UK hotels. Breakfast service is top notch. The tables are set beautifully with white tablecloths and overlook the stunning garden and sea. The menu is extensive and varied and even has vegetarian options including vegetarian sausages. I highly recommend the omelette; it’s filling and tasty. The potato rosti was my favorite. Tasted like a potato latke. There is a parking spot for each room which is an added benefit. It’s easy to get to town through the wooded path. It is steep though. When you check in you will receive help with your bags which we appreciated. If you’re lucky enough to be able to afford this beautiful oasis, I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

Danny and Lee are the most amazing hosts. They make everyone welcome and comfortable and to this end nothing is too much trouble, it's obvious that happy guests makes Danny and Lee happy too.
