Appreciate Hilda Quick's detailed map of what to expect across Cornwall and the stuffed birds in glass displays, there are even crafted models of ones in different poses! Farmland artwork is beautiful capturing the rural areas and there is info about farming's history in the county, the model of a place of worship is really well done itself. Shop windows are marvellously replicated and tourism industry is dived into from the bikes to railways, paintings also capture Cornish society expertly!

It's easy to do a nice circular walk which takes in all of the garden. There's a nice mixture of woodland and formal gardens. The gardens are fairly well maintained although some pruning is needed to open up some of the paths which would be difficult to access if you were in a wheelchair. We visited this as part of a week in Cornwall, an exhibition had recently started here, unfortunately the Newlyn was still being rehung. The staff were friendly and helpful and the admission price was very reasonable. Everyone was very friendly, from the very first greeting in the shop to the service at the restaurant. And they were also very accommodating of our dog who also had a great time throughout! The restaurant had a surprisingly great selection of food & specials. I was spoiled for choice and opted for the crab sandwich which was generous with the crab meat. It was nice to be able to sit outside in their covered seating area, but have the option of going indoors if the weather was not on our side. Overall, a very relaxing atmosphere and good food. The self-guided tour was short but sweet. Guided tours are available at time-slots throughout the day, but we opted for self-guided because it was incredibly convenient to be able to do it at our own pace - especially with the dog in tow. I liked the fact you could get a feel for the place before tasting some of their wines. The wine tasting consisted of a white, a rose, and a red - supplied with some useful tasting notes. (Really enjoyed the white. I don't think it was a grape variety I had tried before.) We left after having purchased a couple of bottles of wine and cider from the shop, including a bottle of the white wine tasted earlier! Happy to support a family business who are clearly on to a good thing.

An apple orchard for producing cider and acres of vines, some under polytunnels, for producing the wine. I don't think there is a vineyard in such a lush setting anywhere else in the world. And the wine! Wine that reflects the unique terroir of this part of West Cornwall. All the produce for making the cider and wine is picked by hand and the end product is absolutely amazing. We'll be visiting again later in the year for lunch and looking forward to it already.

You would think that with the town how it is at the moment with all the disruptive road works that have affected a lot of businesses in Penzance over the last 4 months that they would be greatful for any custom on a dull, wet and insipid Thursday afternoon. All I'm going to suggest is that if this woman isn't happy in her line of work because it clearly sounds like she isn't then maybe she should find a better suited job than front-facing customers service role. I visited on 26.08.25. I was first customer in cafe and had just arrived off the sleeper from London. Looking forward to a nice breakfast to start my break away from life. The breakfast arrived but was overcooked and as result every element lacked any flavour if anything. Well maintained, calm and refreshing. Kids can have amazing time here, exploring nooks and corners of the garden, play hide and seek, large chess, tic tac toe. Kind of easy to find. Just off the A30, take the public footpath up as far as the sign saying "no vehicles beyond this point". This track way is driveable and at the sign there is a a shallow layby for parking. From there, on foot, follow the pathway up to the farm and follow it round to the right. You get to a fork in the pathway marked with a post to the stone circle. Take the pathway in your right and just keep following it to the gate and into the circle. We visited at the end of July and the pathway was almost dry but there were a few soft, muddy patches so good footwear would be recommended in wetter conditions (we all had regular trainers on and were fine) I can't explain how peaceful this stone circle is. Its surrounded by gorse and lots of wild flowers around. Its quite a small circle but the stones feel powerful. Its definitely worth the walk which is probably no more than 15mins from where you leave the car. We had the circle to ourselves and I really didn't want to leave. Fabulous energy and I will hopefully return 🙏

It's a lovely, calm space, that shows signs of still being used, with offerings placed under the centre stone. Very photogenic. With the overgrown path and climb to get over the stone style it isn't accessible from the A30 for those with mobility issues.

It was lovely having a chat with friendly, down to earth Sarah and Nigel who couldn't have been more welcoming. The art work by Sarah is so perfectly colourful. The framed puffin print we bought has brightened up our landing and brings back memories of a holiday that was by far the highlight of an otherwise pretty dreadful year. We decided to visit and it was not what we expected. This little gem of a museum is so worth visiting if you are in the area. It was set up by a Father and daughter and the wealth of knowledge and information we were told and shown were so interesting and fascinating about how tin mines were made and how the tin was found and you can see the story over the hundreds of years about the local communities and how they lived their lives around tin mining. We came away very impressed and we were made very welcome. Don’t miss visiting as all proceeds are put back into the museum and community to enable visitors to learn about the history and heritage.
