Situated on landed property that had unique ambiance. We had some time to spare at Johor and searched for a good restaurant to take a break. As my wife is not a fan of briyani and spicy food, we did not know what to expect. We ordered the set meal, Daging briyani and Ayam Merah briyani (recommended by Harris, the owner) which comes with a drink and dessert. Both meals were delicious!! The meats were tender and well marinated with generous amount of gravy too! The portions were too much for us but we gladly finished everything on the plate! Well, not my wife though as she left some carbo behind. The owner, Harris as I found out later, was very pleasant and friendly host. His polite demeanour and humble responses did not give any hint of being the Boss! The only feedback we have is that the restaurant is a bit warm because there is no aircondition but they have many ceiling fans. 因为是标准的印度餐厅，所以我就是要用中文写评论，避免下次我进去后，还是一样整间餐厅只有我一个华人顾客😆 已经想去很久很久了，从2017年直到这个月才有幸跟印度友人去了这家餐厅，如果对印度餐没有了解的朋友，第一次去还是跟标准的印度朋友去吃哦，避免不懂要点什么，因为菜品很齐全，种类非常之多，不懂印度餐的话真的会看到头晕晕，当然不要跟coconut 一起去啊，不然他也会问你这些是什么🤣 里面没有卖牛肉哦，要吃牛肉的就可以避免啦，食物价格稍贵但分量很大，饮料也是有很多传统的印式传统饮料，要体验标准的印度式菜色绝对可以来，每个waiter 都能说英文，不用担心听不懂他们说什么，问就对了，他们不会摆脸色给你看，还有整间店都是男服务员而且穿著正式，所以建议进去的时候，稍微打扮一下比较好😂 我点了羊肉咖喱，两个人吃刚刚好，咖喱爆浓，重点羊肉完全没有羊骚味，新鲜的我以为是猪肉，而且很嫩，因为忘记拍照，所以就没有照片供大家欣赏，总之，跟我想象的水准差不多，没有失望，只是因为人数少被安排在了门口的位置，有点小遗憾，下次会自己再来体验，建议大家约多一点人来哦😆

Even at 9.00am on a Sunday Morning, there are noticeably alot of Customers. This feels like an Eatery that is Well Known by the Locals. Intimidating Experience for a First Time Customer. The Staffs within are Neither Friendly nor Unfriendly. When I first stepped in, no one paid any attention to me. All they did was look at me and said nothing. They kept to themselves and were busy doing their stuffs. I wished they at least smiled. In the initial 5 minutes I was there, I felt all alone and abit blur on what to do. Like I said, the Staffs weren't Unfriendly but they were Very Busy with hardly anyone bothering to approach me even when I was there sitting at the Seat not knowing what to do. It took 9 mins for the Roti Canai Telur to serve up, and 11 mins for the Rawa Thosai Garing. Everything took 11mins in total. The 2 Types of Curries The 1st is a Chicken Curry that is Mild and not Very 重口味. Although the Spiciness is Mild initially, it does creep up on you. There are the Pieces of Chicken Necks and Feet within and they taste Very Soft and have a Very Gelatineous Bite Feel. The 2nd Type of Curry is actually the type that is used in Fish Head Curry. There are no pieces of Fishes within but had pieces of Brinjal. It had a Thicker and Creamier Consistency compared to Chicken Curry. Only Mildly Spicy. Unfortunately the 2 Curries are not Hot. Both of them are Room Temperature even bothering on Cold, which I thought was Disappointing. Roti Canai Telur = RM3.00 Compared to others i've eaten, I feel the Version here is Noticeably Big Sized and Considerably Thicker. Served Warm, its more on the Firmish Side, Quite Doughy and I feel the Eggy Taste feels quite prominent here. Because this is a Thick Roti, I thought it worked especially well to soak up the Curries. But if i'm going to be very honest, I don't feel there is anything special about this. In fact I feel this is very normal tasting and the only unique thing about it is how thick it was. Rawa Tosai (Garing) = RM4.00 This Rawa Tosai slightly unique because unlike a Regular Thosai which is more Smooth and resembles more like a Crepe, this one has a More "Bullet Hole" appearance. Its made with Semolina Flour and tastes like Indian Murukku. Now I'm not sure if Regular Rawa Thosai is supposed to be more Soft in Texture, but this "Garing" version was Very Crispy. Eating this with Curry was quite Enjoyable. Imagine a Very Thin Crispy Murukku Dipped in Curry and you're not far off with what this Tastes like. Conclusion and Closing Thoughts At at Total Combined Price of RM7.42 (S$2.26), this is certainly more affordable and worth the money to try compared to the ones sold in Singapore. Having said that, I am not particularly Wowed by the Quality here. The Roti Canai Telur I felt is too thick for my preference. And as interesting as the Rawa Thosai (Garing) was, I thought it was interesting for maybe a 1 time try, but not something I would specifically come to JB for again. The 2 Curries were a Major Factor why I won't come back because they're not Hot. I don't like my Curries served at Room Temp or even Cold. I do like the Necks and Feet in the Chicken Curry though and they are the only thing I enjoyed from the Curries. Ultimately I wasn't impresssed with how Cold the Experience felt when I initially entered. While None of the Staffs were Unfriendly, the Overall Impression I had was that I probably came at a wrong time and shouldn't have been there. I really wished they at least smiled. I've been to other Indian Restaurants and I had a much more Positive First Time Customer Entry Experience compared to this place. This is our first visit to this restaurant. The restaurant looked clean and hygienic. We were attended immediately once we took our seats. We ordered 2 sets of dosa and a set of puri together with Milo and tea. After a few minutes, the crew said that puri has finished and if we would like to replace it. Kacang Pool (Daging) = RM7.00 Quality of the Roti The First Red Flag I should have noticed is that unlike the Stall at Angsana Mall, there isn't any Hot Plate Skillet right at the Front where the Roti is being Grilled. The Roti served here is more like already Pre-Made that are served up when ordered and Not Freshly Made.  You can sort of guess where I'm going with this Review already. Despite Pre-Made, the Appearance of the Roti looks Slightly More Burnt and Chao Tah compared to the One at Angsana Mall.  While it was still Slightly Crispy to the Bite, the Crispiness was of course not as Fresh Hot Crispy because it isn't Freshly Off the Grill. Generally there are No Difference in Taste. Its still basically a Buttered Up Thick Slice of Roti.  I just don't like that its Noticeably Less Crispy compared to the one at Angsana Mall. Quality of the Bean/Meat Dip This Bean/Meat Dip is the 2nd Main Component of Kacang Pool.  Upon tasting it, it was very Obvious that there are Noticeably Much Less Amount of Minced Beef and the Dip was More Beany  compared to the one at Angsana Mall.  What I was also surprised is that the Taste don't taste like A&W's Coney Dog Filling like how I described previously, but has a More Sweetish Taste actually.  It also noticeably lacks that Freshly Cut Onion Aroma that Angsana Mall had, and felt More Flatter in Taste. Conclusion and Closing Thoughts At the Price of RM7.00 (S$2.20), this is priced exactly the same as the one I had in Angsana Mall. The Roti is Pre-Made and does still have a Crispy Bite, but it was nowhere as Piping Fresh Off the Skillet Crispy as the one in Angsana Mall. The Worst Offender I feel, is the Meat/Bean Dip which showed Very Obvious Attempts at Cost Cutting 偷工减料.  Angsana Mall's Version was Generous with the Amount of Minced Beef which I described previously as "口口有肉". This Version in comparison had Very Noticeably Lesser Minced Beef and was a More Beany Version.  Hahaha its more "口口有豆" for this one.  The More I ate this version here in Selera Johor, the More I felt this was Noticeably Less Effort  compared to Angsana Mall especially where you can see Much More Care and Attention shown by the Pak Cik with Grilling the Roti Fresh on the Hot Skillet. Having said that, the Overall Quality here is not Jialat until cannot eat lah.  If you are someone who actually prefer a More Beany 口口有豆 version,  you might actually like this Version. If however, you prefer a More Meaty 口口有肉 version,  then definitely Angsana Mall's version.
