So when I found out boat drinks was open at the same time as the Florida/Georgia football game was going on, I was excited. My anticipation was high and I was ready to throw down a massive tab in oysters and beer with no shame. ...There are 2 TV's at the bar playing the same oldy Halloween movie I've never seen or heard of. Frankly, it seems that i wasn't the only person disinterested because throughout the restaurant all of ZERO patrons were paying attention to this important Halloween movie that had to be played the day after Halloween in a 10% occupied restaurant. Meanwhile, I came in decked out in Florida game day attire with a bright eyes and a bushy tail. I asked the nice bartender if she could turn on the BIGGEST GAME in NE Florida a.k.a. the LARGEST cocktail part in America a.k.a. FLORIDA vs GEORGIA. I was met with a hesitant yet rehearsed response "Football is only played on Sundays". I looked around at other people Florida/Georgia game day attire and said no problem, then went to Candlelight to enjoy some wings in a more traditional sports bar. I get it. Boat Drinks isn't a sports bar. But come on man... KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE. I would be willing to bet that they got plenty of phone calls that day asking if they were playing the game. Actually... no they wouldn't have because their phone system doesn't work. I am more than willing come in again for a take 5 and take down this review based on a full experience. I was surprised to find it was really free, including the free sample taste of 4 of their house made cocktails. These included a Florida Mule, Essential Tonic, Old Fashion, and Tropical Tiki Mix. Emily our server was on top of it. Drinks were prompt and tasty. Great selection of house cocktails and craft beers combined, something you don't often see. Double checked the reviews and everyone is claiming this place is the best, and the are right. The vibes in here a cool, just your average barbecue place. The real kicker is the food! We got the ribs and the brisket and the waitress said it will be out quick. She wasn’t lying, less than 5 minutes later they came out with everything. The meat was absolutely amazing and even the sides were 10/10. They give you a range of about 5 sauces to try and all of them are great. Being Peruvian and an avid food lover I couldn't wait to try the cuisine incorporating Asian flare which is a common element with Peruvian dishes. The atmosphere and service was amazing. I truly felt like I was nestled in Cuzco with the ambiance and authentic smells of Palo Santo in the air. Claudia was our server and she did a fantastic job with service and presentation of all the dishes. I unfortunately had to give the food only 3 stars and I'm hoping it was because it was a Sunday and perhaps the chef was off their game but almost every dish was very salty. We say "the chef must be in love" when dishes are salty because theoretically attention isn't on the food. Here is a recap of what we ordered: Appetizers- volcanic beaches which was a beautiful flavor explosion in every bite, ceviche nikkel which had some of the freshest salmon I've ever tasted, papas huancaina a traditional Peruvian dish woth tender potatoes and good vegetarian option and our last appetizer was hongos bachiche which was a refreshing twist on a mushroom salad with a light cream based sauce. It was complimentary to the other appetizers but again unfortunately all were salty. I can't recall the exact drinks we ordered but had many different ones to try a variety. The wine and "cocktail" selections were all worth sampling. There is no liquor served. They do have beer also. Entrees were the Cordero cusquen̈o which was a delicious rack of lamb. This dish was not salty and I split it with my daughter and it was plenty of food for the both of us to share. The mar y tierra which is a nod to surf and turf was cooked well but the pasta was over done so the creamy sauce was more of a paste. And the last entree we tried was the salmon Italo andino and it was perfect. For dessert we shared the sacred valley and again the presentation was great. Overall I would go back again and try different entrees for the experience and hopefully a better meal. I truly do think the "chef was in love" 💓 and it's worth another visit.

Our Bartender Heather made our first visit to St. George’s Tavern a very memorable & fabulous one. They were not at all “stingy” with their pours. I was a little little leery at first because of a bad experience here around twelve years ago, (when it was the Dune Cracker House). We walked in and everything looked like it did on our last visit so I was even more nervous. I have always loved this building, (and the oyster shells everywhere), but it's somewhat dark and used to be more than a little dingy. We sat out out in the front part of the building and, (while still dark), everything appeared to be much cleaner than before. We started with a half dozen of steamed oysters as an appetizer, ($8.99), and they were plump and juicy. They were served with the usual crackers, drawn butter, horseradish and seafood sauce. Definitely no complaints here. Our main courses were a fried shrimp dinner, ($19.99), and a New York Strip dinner, (on special for $17.00). The fried shrimp were delicious. The breading was crisp and the shrimp were really tender. The coleslaw was unique and had a slight sweetness, (I am thinking they used mango or some other fruit in their recipe). The fries were crinkle cut and I have never been a fan. The steak was delicious as well, (sorry, my phone didn't save the picture for some reason). I have never cared for New York Strip as it doesn't have a lot of marbling and they're normally tough. That was definitely the case here but it was seasoned well and tasted great. Oh, we had Rum Runners and they definitely pour a strong drink here...they were awesome! They were having karaoke tonight and the building filled up fast. There was a nice mix of people, (both young and old), and it appeared that many were locals. In the end I was more than pleased with everything...the food was great and the price was right, ($61.00 for adult drinks, an appetizer and two dinners). It's definitely not fancy dining by any means but I would definitely come back to enjoy some drinks, oysters and live music.

We were pleasantly greeted and sat without any wait. Our waitress was very nice. However, the service was very slow, and it took some time to have our order taken, weren't checked on during our meal, and we had to flag our waitress down after to get/pay our check. While we were waiting for our food, I witnessed the bartender drop the drink strainer into a glass, pick it out with his bare hands, and then proceed to pour more mixer in and serve the drink. Unfortunately, this put us off to ordering any more drinks due to the potential health issue. When the food came out, it not only looked very good but tasted amazing. All of us enjoyed our food (especially the potatoes) and ate every bit of our meals. Overall, we will give this location another try on a future date. However, I hope that the bartender is given lessons on food safety. Re-making one drink is worth the extra time versus the cost of the ingredients. The food is definitely worth it!

The bodega up front is super cute with some cool items (albeit limited selection), the vintage clothing store is quality, the taproom has a great selection of drinks, AND the Hawaiian food truck is delicious! We did some research beforehand and quite honestly we were psyched to go there to sample an advertised bottle, which was promoted on the website. The website promoted this Bourbon with camel, toffee, vanilla, smoke and chocolate. Right up our alley. Three samples are free and we tried their Found Whiskey, Dragon's Kiss and 4 year aged rum. The Dragon's Kiss is with Honey Habanero Flavoring. Interesting flavor profile. They have bottles which are 1x spice and 3x spice. We tried both and ended up liking and buying a bottle of the 1x. The 3x spice was not terribly hotter than the 1x but the heat hung around your mouth and throat longer than what we would have cared for. Nice place, did not sample any cocktails, worth one visit if in the area, but would not make a special trip.
