It was only a Monday, but for a Monday, they can get busy! This place is clearly very popular. The service was kind of slow, but our server (didn't catch her name) was very sweet and kind so it made up for it. We got two of their rum cocktails and they were both delicious. The drinks were fairly priced for how strong they tasted. We got two appetizers, the chicken taquitos and the calamari (forgot to take photos, too excited). My husband loved the taquitos, the shredded chicken was flavorful and the shells were very crispy. The calamari was also great, mostly large sized rings, lightly golden fried, and they were SOO tender inside! I'm used to mostly rubbery calamari from other restaurants, but the calamari from here is definitely different and so soft. Truly melts in your mouth. We devoured them so quick before the server could even come back to see how we liked them. For the entrees, we went with sandwiches. I got the grouper sandwich grilled and my husband got their pulled pork sandwich. The grouper sandwich was amazing. The fish was cooked perfectly and tasted so clean and fresh. The slaw I got for my side was kind of swimming in mayo, would have been nice to be a little lighter with the mayo but that's okay. My husband was a huge fan of the pulled pork sandwich, he said the sauce that the pork was mixed with was perfect. Overall the food here was so great, much better than I expected. Portion sizes were reasonable and we didn't end up needing to go boxes which is a plus in my book (because who wants to reheat a fish sandwich?). The building itself is a cute little place with lots of art in Alice in Wonderland style. There is also art created by one of their servers that is really cool. The staff is amazing and the food impeccable. We had a reservation for 630 but due to unforseen circumstances we weren't seated until 715. Regardless of the wait our hostess Bria and and host Bobby made the time seem irrelevant. We talked about the menu and wine and they took their time to help us make our meal selection. The restaurant has great art work and stained glass depicting scenes from the book and they have a great pop up book version of Alice through the Looking Glass. The chef is very creative and the menu is a strong reflection of his culinary skill. My wife and I were overly pleased by each course. From the appetizers to the dessert everything was the top of the line. Dawn our waitress was extremely attentive and ensured we had a great experience from start to finish. If you visit Sanibel this is definitely a stop you need to make. We will definitely return.

One of the waiters was not the most friendly person, however the remainder of the waitresses made up well for that. We loved both, although my wife typically does not like goat cheese The goat cheese is tucked nicely in a handmade pastry with a delicious strawberry and wine reduction. The roasted garlic plate had two large bulbs of garlic roasted nestled with crostini and brie with some grapes. My wife had the scallop plate for her entree. It consisted of three large succulent scallops on mashed potatoes with broccolini. I had the grouper which was a large fillet of black grouper, pan seared, atop a bed of mashed potatoes and broccolini, which was coupled with a delicious key lime & caper butter. They also brought out a complementary black truffle shrimp appetizer from the chef. Our little one had some pasta in cheese butter. Another item they had brought out was some of the most delicious bread we’ve ever eaten, which was so powdery soft and delicious, freshly baked with in-house made butter that was extremely silky and soft. We definitely enjoyed our dinner and appreciated the staff as well. We do recommend this spot.

We had the seafood special for two (which comes with two chowders but we upgraded one to lobster bisque), lobster rolls , and two kids meals (burger). They have good quality food . The chowder is not the best I’ve had but decent. The lobster bisque has chunks of lobster meats but not as flavorful as the one at The Island Cow. The seafood plate for two has some New England clams that I love! The fish that was in the plate was a bit dry and overcooked. The presentation was grand. Lobster roll was very good. I would probably do the lobster roll again if I visit this place again during our stay in Sanibel.

The whole lobster is really good and juicy. It was steaming hot and with butter. The fisherman's platter as seen in my photos was also very good. It's not really over breaded or suuuper greast which can be an issue sometimes. I've never had fried scallops before but they were pleasantly sweet and soft. Everything was perfectly cooked and had a lot of unique flavor. The staff was nice and attentive. There was live music out front when we were there and it was pleasant and the sound quality was surprisingly good. I was like excuse me as you can see we are still eating and please do not remove anything unless we are finished. He made a huff and walked away. Very rude and unprofessional of him. The lobster roll tasted like canned lobster and the bread over done. The tuna plate was fine. Now back to the birthday girl! You would think knowing it was her birthday the waitress would of made some fuss over her or offered a bday surprise dessert but no all she got was after we paid the bill of $207.62 while walking away. Our main order came out fast and the Salmon was grilled to perfection and the Hoisin Sauce kicked it up a notch it was very good. The Twice Baked Potato was not that good it tasted like it was reheated and did not have much flavor. The Mixed Veggies were just ok. Britt stopped by many times to check on us and to see if we needed anything. I ordered a Red Velvet Cake for Dessert, and it was huge piece of Cake. I bet 3 people could had eaten that. It was ok. Went over to Sanibel and thought "where to stop and eat." Saw this place and had no expectations. The service from the minute you hit the door was stellar- like shocking really. So friendly and allowed us to dine outside even though the only service running was inside. Food was surprisingly good, and very well priced. But our waiter made the stop perfect. I gave her my name and she said "right this way!". The table was on the opposite side of the bar which was perfect because it gave us plenty of space to feel save in this "covid19" era. We were greeted by the server and after her recommendation we decided to try the coconut grouper appetizer. Let me pause for a minute and tell you, they were amazing. I have spent a lot of time eating coconut grouper in the Florida keys and this was up there with the best of them. We also tried a few of the drinks from their specialty drink menu. One was a mango and something (I'm tired, maybe i remember tomorrow) fruit martini that was literally perfect. It wasnt overpowering with vodka and it wasnt too sweet from juice. It was the perfect blend for a pair of travelers looking to relax. The top shelf margarita was also just as amazing. Normally at most restaurants they advertise grand marnier but you never actually taste it. This also was the perfect blend of tequila, sweet and sour and grand marnier. My wife decided she didnt want to eat too heavy because we are going to the beach tomorrow. I stayed quiet and said ok. She ordered the fish tacos and I ordered the shrimp cipriani pasta. Now, for the record. I never order pasta but there was something about the description that was calling my name. I dont know what it was but something about... pancetta, roasted garlic, sundried tomato pesto and artichoke hearts. finished with cream was calling my name.... One bite was all it took and i was in love.... This was probably the best pasta dish, i have had in my last 15 years. Now, thru college i worked at many high end restaurants to pay for school and many had some very rich pastas but the blend of flavors blew my mind. The pancetta wasn't thin slices that disappear in the sauce, they were similar to small lego blocks that were hearty bites with the pasta and shrimp. I could talk about this dish for quite some time but i know you will stop reading so i will continue. The fish tacos were two large soft tacos which looked like around 7 ozs of mahi in total (i didnt ask, just an observation) and my wife was very happy and so was i. As we enjoyed our meal i asked for another drink, one from their specialty menu and while i don't remember the name, it was made with some sort of cake flavored vodka. Let me tell you... it may be a little too sweet for most people but i had no cravings for dessert afterwards so it did it's job. Hahaha. I will try to replicate this drink at my daughter's next birthday party it was so good. I could write more but this was a very enjoyable evening and as much as i hate to visit the same restaurant twice in one quick visit. This place looked great walking up but service was rough right from the start. No one seems to care and the servers seemed upset to even be there. I liked the flavor of the prosciutto more than the smoked salmon if I had to choose. The mashed potatoes were also a bit salty. They give you plenty of water to drink which is a plus. Coffee fresh and tasty. We opted for items from the specials menu (I really wanted to try the alligator but couldn't pull the trigger). I ordered the Avocado Omelet with feta substituting their specialty grilled parmesean tomatoes for hash browns, with rye toast. Hubby got the breakfast burrito generously accompanied by sour cream, guacamole and homemade salsa. All I can say is YUM. Eggs beautifully cooked (not browned, a pet peeve of mine), avocado fresh, toast warm with their homemade raspberry jam on the side. (We bought a couple jars to take home, it was that good). Proper portion sizes, enough to satisfy without overeating or carting leftovers home. The parmesean tomatoes were wonderful. A healthy(er) option over the potatoes. Wait staff attentive without being bothersome. The dining room is efficient, compact but navigable. No outside seating that I saw. Their tables showcase shadowbox shell art designs from local artisans. This seemed to be a trend with them, the walls adorned with a lovely mural and art pieces by the same artist. Available to buy near the register were handmade pottery mugs by Doug (who came in to eat while we were there) and homemade raspberry & blackberry preserves. Settled in for peal and eat shrimp and seared ahi tuna as appetizers. Very good. Complimentary warm bread and dip. Dinner consisted a couple entrees- first their grilled seafood platter, 3 shrimp, 3 scallops and lobster tail. It was served with a mushroom risotto. Simply amazing. Second, 12oz prime rib smashed potatoes and salad, also delicious. Rounding out third was the bacon wrapped scallops, mushroom risotto and salad. All three could not have been any better. This was my first visit and I loved every thing about my experience but.....the bar is directly adjacent to the inside dining area. At the bar they had live music, loud amplified music with singing. This did nothing but echo throughout. It actually became quite annoying as the play list continued. Absent the impromptu concert, which wasn't happening during appetizers, this was a fabulous dining experience and I would have given 5 stars. I'd definitely return but probably just not when the band is playing.

We had a party of seven, and called ahead for reservations. They had it ready when we arrived. The food was on the level of a fine dining establishment, but the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming! The decor was a fresh yet rustic, beachy vibe. The atmosphere was okay. The food was the star. We ordered Conch Fritter and Cheese Fry appetizers. Both were great. The fritters were probably the best I have ever had, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy inside with tender conch. For dinner we had a Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad and Mandarin Rum Chicken. The salad was wonderful after a long, hot day on the beach. It had huge flavor in large portions. The service was superb! Our waiter, Cooper, explained the specials and the menu with practiced care. The staff in general was incredibly friendly and then there's the food. We ordered the special for an appetizer, stuffed artichoke with goat cheese. It was phenomenal! I ordered the Berbere Tuna for an entree. It was cooked to perfection! The texture was almost melt in your mouth with a coconut curry sauce. My fiance ordered the Wagyu tenderloin. It was the most tender beef either of us have enjoyed. We did not have dessert, however, I feel that it would have most certainly been as good as the rest either the entree or the appetizer.
