I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt I should share my experience this time. I hope it helps others, and maybe even the restaurant, because Bagnet 8065 used to be so much better a few years back.
I visited because I was seriously craving their bagnet kare-kare. It’s been about two years since my last dine-in, and I was excited to try it again. The place still looks the same, but as soon as I ordered, things felt a bit off. The staff member taking my order called out to me from the counter-loudly-which caught me off guard. I know it’s not a fine dining restaurant, but I expected a little more warmth or at least for her to come closer to take the order properly.
I ordered kare-kare and asked for a Coke Zero, but was told they didn’t have any drinks available. She mentioned I could buy drinks outside, but there wasn’t even a nearby store. I was honestly hoping she’d offer to assist or at least provide an alternative, but that didn’t happen.
I also asked about their Wi-Fi since my mobile signal was weak in the area, but they didn’t have one, so I stepped outside to at least get a few bars.
When the food arrived, it looked nice, but the meat and vegetables were cold-like straight-from-the-chiller cold. Only the rice was freshly cooked. I politely asked if they could reheat the dish. When it came back, it seemed only the sauce had been warmed; the meat was no longer crispy (which I was really looking forward to) and the veggies were still cold.
How did I know? I lightly touched the meat and veggies with my pinky to check if it was warm. I know it’s not the ideal thing to do, but I was ready to eat and just wanted to be sure. After realizing it was still cold, I asked again, but at that point, I decided I’d pay and take the food out instead.
But she responded by saying I didn’t need to pay if I didn’t like the food, which I agreed to, and I genuinely appreciated the gesture. I understand that situations like this might affect the staff, but it’s also important for them to recognize that some customers are very particular about their food being fresh and served warm. Still, I believe the management shouldn’t take this against the staff, these things should be part of proper restaurant standards and training. By that point, though, I was already too uncomfortable to continue the meal anyway.
Overall, it was a disappointing visit, especially since this used to be one of my go-to places. I really hope the restaurant can improve again, because the food used to be great. For now, though, I’d recommend considering other options until things get better.
