The woodland walk was magical and the different varieties of mushrooms/Toadstools was amazing. Great for all ages and in all weather's. We visited on a hot sunny day as a family. There is plenty of parking (2 disabled spots). As you enter there is a gorgeous little pond that was teeming with frogs. Great for the little members of the family to spot dragon flies, tadpoles, frogs etc. The entrance area had drinks and snacks and a seating area. You can buy guide books for the various things you'll spot walking around. The reserve itself is quite accessible although you may struggle if it's been raining. It's very quiet and peaceful. Our only issue was a lack of maps or signposting. I would have suggested they do colour coded walks so you can see what sort of distances are involved. We stopped as we weren't sure how far we had gotten or how to get back. There isn't any Internet so you can't look it up. We had explained at the entrance it was our first time visiting and they simply said its signposted. Unfortunately the sign posts aren't much use unless you know exactly where the hides or dipping ponds are fir example , or how far you've got left. It's probably not a problem unless you are disabled or have limited mobility. There are lots of information boards dotted around so I'm sure a map could be added.

There really wasn’t a weak course at all, which is so extremely rare in a multi course (semi)tasting menu. This simply is top end cooking to rival any other top class restaurants anywhere in the UK. We had the 6 course menu and were full and satisfied by the end - I actually doubt we could have taken down the full 9 course, so just bear that in mind when ordering. On certain weekdays you can go a la carte where you choose anywhere between 2 and 4 courses. Service was first class - friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and genuine - really makes a difference and makes you want to come back again for sure. £190 for two (both went 6 courses) with a couple of drinks. I think for the quality of food and staff, this represents strong value for money, given what you can end up spending on some of the michies in London for example. Visited here again with family. Superb food, the fish and chips are amazing, the fish was so fresh and light, encased in the best crispy batter I've ever tasted! My nut roast was superb, and so was the roast beef dinner (so I was told). The haddock and salmon fishcakes were a hit for my parents who are not big eaters, so the portion size was perfect for them. Once again, a lovely experience with really friendly staff, reasonable prices and great service. Highly recommend. Great food, lovely staff, reasonable prices..will be back! Booking was easy and hassle free. We arrived and were escorted to our table in a cosy but airy part of the pub. The atmosphere was great and there were loads of people enjoying their roasts too. South of the Arun is not good walking as many footpaths are fenced in, which really spoils the feeling of being in the countryside. Before the last three years, I lived in Guildford and there were a dozen places much nicer to walk around on the outskirts of the town like this. Sussex is really poor in comparison to Surrey for nice places to walk (I mean shortish walks around 5km / 1 hour) within about 15 mins drive of my house. This might be why a lot of people like the Chesworth area, as there is not a lot else close by, especially areas you can walk around during winter in shoes without getting soaked and filthy.

The staff are kind and explained clearly to us how it all works. You pick items to paint from the shelves and then get the colours you want to your table. There is a lot of fishing opportunities if you like to fish and a few paths for biking or for walks or runs. However a lot of the forest got cut down since last year and I am quite dissapointed because riding a bike is close to impossible there now and children can't play their usual games in there. You can still go on walks there however. The showers near the playground had freezing cold water so I had to walk far away to the other showers for warmer water which were much better quality. The people next to my tent were very loud late at night and had an open fire which i saw them using the wood from the forest and I know is forbidden, but when I tried to call the campiste number they didn't pick up. The location is great because there is a small shop nearby where you can pick up food and toiletries if you need it. If you have children you can ask for a spot near the playground so you can easily watch your children while they play with friends or siblings. There is also horses, cows, bulls and ducks which you have opportunities to feed if you ask the reception.
