It was sunday, so decided to order a roast. It didnt look impressive, and my roast potatoes were tepid, at best. Friendly and helpful waiting staff changed my meal but everyone had finished eating before I got mine. I had a crispy chicken burger. This resisted all my attempts to give it any flavour. Their condiments are terrible. The mayo is like lighter than light mayo and bbq sauce didnt even taste bbq. When the main meals were delivered 5 came out with 1 taking an extra 10mins, everyone else was halfway through their meals by the time the lasagna came out. We actually go to this branch quite a lot and even decided to bring some friends this time because it’s usually such a good experience. At first everything was great- the waitress who sat us down was really smiley (I think her name started with an S) the food came out quick, and my pork ramen was as perfect as always, honestly, the chefs here are super consistent every single time. The problem came halfway through the meal. We were greeted at the door, and didn't have long to wait to be seated. Our host/server was pleasant, and he was great with my little boy. This is where the positives end. The food was, for the price, atrocious! If it wasn't so expensive I would have accepted it for cheap and cheerful pub grub, albeit executed badly. The back of house staff dropped the ball tonight. The roast potatoes - no seasoning or flavour to speak of, absolutely zero colouring on them. They were soggy and just awful. NOT what a roast potato should be! The meat - the beef as stated on the menu should have been 'pink' this beef was well done, and a bad cut at that. Chewy, sinewy. Not pleasant at all. The pork was fine I guess. The turkey was disappointing. All three cuts were cut very thin. Incredibly disappointed considering the price of the dish. Cauliflower cheese - clearly reheated, a congealed flavourless mess. As this is a menu upgrade this should have been executed much better. The starter - was actually ok, nothing to commend, apart from this at least had flavour. On the whole a massively disheartening experience, only marginally made bearable thanks to some friendly service. Front of House team for the win, back of house staff need to brush up on service standards and basic culinary skills. A well cooked roast is a thing of beauty. This fell so short of the mark. The cost for what it is is abysmal. Off the back of this one experience we have zero intentions of coming back.

However the chicken, roasties & yorkie were quite dry to be honest. The major let down for us for a party of 4 is that we were seated at a table only big enough for two, very cramped not enough room on the table for all the plates that arrived & everyone felt on top of each other it was quite ridiculous, I did mention to the wait staff however no other options were offered. I booked a large group of rooms well in advance and the whole team were so helpful for arranging this and accommodating any changes right up until the last minute. We were having hair and make up done for the morning of the wedding and they were so helpful to provide me with a room with good natural light and vanity desks in the rooms we needed. Check-in was so easy and friendly and the rooms were nice and clean. We also booked a large table of 20 people in the pub for the night before the wedding. We didn’t ask for anything special but as they knew it was associated with our wedding they went above and beyond, giving us our own space in the pub and arranged the tables in a U-shape so everyone could talk to each other. We pre-ordered food and they got everything spot on, no mistakes or missed orders and it was all delicious. The service was amazing and they made sure to keep everyone topped up with drinks throughout the evening. For breakfast the next morning they gave us the same space so everyone could eat together at a time that worked for them. Thank you so much to the whole team for going above and beyond and making our stay and pre-wedding celebrations so lovely!

Had a meal last weekend and as per usual we wasn't disappointed. Instantly greeted by a pleasant member of staff, offered a table despite having not booked. Beautiful selection of seasonal meals on offer, food was of the most highest standard. This isnt just pub grub, it is a level far above that and cooked to perfection. I had a Risotto Verde from the special board which was probably the best risotto I have ever eaten anywhere. Don’t be fooled by the area this restaurant is situated, as everyone else has said it’s a hidden gem once inside! We had a family gathering and due to time constraints opted for brunch. I do not normally mention staff, but I will suggest our server name, with a few letters *la*d******ra. In our opinion, he was one of the best restaurant staff we had encountered for a long time. He was professional, funny, cautious, and a great asset to the business, obviously enjoying his role. The food was of good quality, well-presented but we felt was  overpriced for what you were served, table service was well timed, service charge was added to the bill. Our coffee was not very hot but Was promptly changed. We enjoyed our meal and the pleasant surroundings. After our fill, we selected a 2/3 mile walk in the local area.

Very friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and answered any questions we had. I was given a free bottle of Prosecco from a birthday voucher from the restaurant which was a lovely touch. The food was brilliant, the prices reasonably, the setting amazing and the interior - stunning! We sat in a little green velvet booth which was both rustic and luxurious at the same time! There was a group of 6 of us and we opted for the set menu B. There was very little on the menu that you couldn’t choose with this option and it meant that your drinks are essentially bottomless. The staff are really on it with this, you never have to ask them to refill anything and you really get you money’s worth! The mezze starter was a really nice mixture of dishes which were all veggie. It came in plentiful amounts and we were able to keep it all on the table when our mains came too. Everyone said they loved their mains and we had everything from veggie to lamb to seafood. I had the chicken kulbasti and it was so tender and really flavoursome. We were also pleased with how quickly all the food came out, being a group. The only thing that’s held me back from a 5 star is just that the decor is a bit run down and plain. The waiting staff were also a little quiet (not that I usually mind!) but it lacks a little bit of atmosphere. For quality food and value for money though i would absolutely recommend it.

The rice biriyani was awful, soggy and not very tasty. Overpriced menu. The garden is well kept and bursting with colours and the decking looks out across the hills. Really stunning place to enjoy a spot of lunch. However the food leaves a lot to be desired considering the price. The food and drinks on the menu are of high quality with local produce and beers/ciders on offer. The food was served after a short while, during which we enjoyed some pre dinner drinks, and the quality of the starters, mains and desserts was outstanding. Staff kept checking if everything was okay and if it all was to our taste. Cannot fault the location, service, staff or the food and drink. One the 3 starters we had was Thoong Thong (chicken) gray crunchy pastry parcel yet not greasy. It deserves the awards it's won. After looking online for a nice Thai restaurant I found that a lot of websites highly recommended Thai palace, so took a look at their website and menu and found that the food they had was what I was looking for at reasonable prices. I was able to book a table via their website which was great and good thing too as they are very popular so booking in advance is a must. We went there and didn't have to wait at all being greeted by a waitress and directed to our table. One thing I like about the service was that they didn't straight away all about ordering any drinks, but have is some time to sit and relax, and peruse the menu first (a lot of places straight away ask you what drink you want before you've fully sat down which is not a good experience). After taking our orders the food tasted very fresh and delicious, with the time between starter and main course being well placed. One extra thing I thought was very good was the drinks menu going off what was set. As I was driving so didn't want any alcohol they made me a mocktail to go with the cocktail my wife ordered even though there wasn't any provision for it on their menu. I thought that was a nice touch. I had the tempura prawns for starter, my wife having the vegetable option, which was delicious. The main I had a beef green curry with coconut rice which was equally as tasty, my wife having fried fish with vegetables which was also tasty. One thing which amazed me was how the food stayed hot for the duration of the meal and when initially presented. Not sure how they manage this, but even when I was having the last bite it was equally as hot as the start. This was amazing and great as it keeps the food very tasty with a lot of restaurants not having food at that temperature at the beginning of the meal nor last that long. 5/5 for presentation and taste and they are well deserving of the status. I will definitely go back as I want to try another main on their menu which was the seafood. They also deliver, but I don't think I'd take up that option as seated dining was great.
