It was perfect, unique and totally beautiful. From the beginning of booking the memorial a few months ago all of the staff at the Pier were wonderful. They helped me order a ‘Large Bench Plaque’ for mum, they ensured it was sited exactly where I wanted it and when I needed it done by. I’ve attached a photo taken 10 years ago of us on the pier with my mum’s say on the bench exactly where they put the plaque for us! Then they were totally transparent about different costs and options, they took time to get the menu perfect for us. They showed the celebrant I had booked and the Tech guy I had used around the pier in the weeks before to ensure everything was perfect for us on the day. It was a perfect stormy grey November day, we had the service in the bell room at the end of the pier so we could shelter from the weather and have the screen for slideshows and audio for music. Once the tributes had been spoken and audio photos watched.. we then went out to where mums plaque had been fixed for the celebrant to dedicate the plaque… finally led by me and my daughter we all threw a long steamed pink rose over the side and the tide took the 40 roses under the pier and beautifully like a game of extravagant pinks”Pooh sticks” the roses floated on the waves out towards the estuary… so sad but so beautiful and a perfect image of the day! After the service we then all went to the Glass Box restaurant where the pier staff had set up a very generous buffet style wake. We chose to have the bar available but for guests to pay for their own drinks which worked really well for a memorial, however, there was a option for drinks to be provided to our guests which would be better for a celebration type event. The Lift down to the toilets was broken but the staff had already worked out a way for disabled people to use a toilet there, as a disabled person I want to thank you especially for thinking of that! All in all the memorial was perfect. We gave mums the most beautiful service in the most unique memorable location. All of our guests enjoyed it and have said they will remember this always.. thank you all at Clevedon Pier.

So really pleased to manage a visit this time. A very small NT property but so much character. Every room had a guide who was very knowledgeable and wasn't afraid to tell you all the history and answer questions. Garden's also small and not horticulturally of interest but climb up the terraces as high as you can and you can see for miles towards Bristol and the hills. You only need an hour or so to see everything but it's worth it. Only drawback is the noise from the M5 but there's othing you can do about that.

The only thing I wasn’t happy about was the soft play structure it looks like a converted barn it’s brilliant inside with well planned and built amenities but my concern is the roof,it’s asbestos corrugated sheeting (I noticed the animals indoor building has corrugated metal sheeting ) I can’t understand why asbestos has been used. Whilst its use can pose a risk if in any way it breaks down,all materials eventually deteriorates,whilst a small risk ,I really can’t understand its use especially in a children’s environment.

We stopped here on the way down to our holiday to Cornwall, to break up a 6.5 hour journey. They have a good selection of animals that look very healthy and have plenty of outdoor space. The farm has a great variety of animals, with more coming soon according to the site. They have different animals, from lions to elephants and a expansive site to walk around. We also had food from here, we ordered 2 pork burritos. They were around £12.50 each which is a little expensive and to be honest, they werent that impressive for taste and we actually left a bit of our food. It was quite bland and the pork was not the best we tasted. The only part that had the best taste was the sauce, which was quite tangy. We know not to order this next time. Even the toasties were around £8 each. Besides the food, the staff were friendly and helpful and we had a great time. We even went on the tractor ride for £2 each and that was a nice little ride. Another disappointing part was the fact that the bird walk enclosure was closed due to guidelines on avian flu, which is not the parks fault, but did take away from the experience slightly. We also found out they run experiences and encounters which for some people will be great, but they do seem very pricey. We saw 2 people in the zoo participating in the Capybara encounter. Which you can talk to a member of staff about the animal and feed them. Unsure of how long it lasts for as website lacks that information and we did not ask at the time, but it costs £50 per person, which is pretty steep when you factor in what you get for it and the cost to enter the zoo. We had such an amazing time at Puxton Park! We went with a group of adults and kids, and there was so much to do that everyone was entertained. It's not just a park for the little ones; the adults had just as much fun getting involved in all the activities. Slided can give you adrenaline too. Outdoor Splash games are nice as well. From the moment we arrived, the kids were off on an adventure. The range of things to do is incredible—the massive indoor play barn, the high ropes course, and the pedal go-karts were huge hits. There’s a real sense of adventure throughout the whole park, and we loved that it got the kids running around and trying new things. The little farm was amazing, there are more cute, animals 🦜 our favourite was the Amazon parrot wich was imitating a crying baby calling her mom , so cute. We have bought a fresh Tbone steak from farm shop at the exit, it was amazing 🥩 there's also fresh cow milk from the machines and a small souvenir shop I can't recommend Puxton Park enough. It’s a perfect mix of thrilling activities, animal encounters, and just good old-fashioned fun. We'll definitely be back soon!

Advertised as a family friendly course open to everyone yet we were turned away for no good reason except that it was "busy". Avoid this place if you are a beginner or family as the seem to only want professionals on their open course

Being a wedding musician myself, I have performed at many wonderful and extravagant venues. When my husband and I were looking for a venue, I personally struggled with picking somewhere. I found Walton Castle just by chance on google maps and we went for a tour. We were both blown away by the view from the balcony as we were able to see the sea and thought this would make wonderful memories. It also meant a lot to my husband as he is in the Royal Navy. We both knew instantly that this was our venue. It ticked a lot of our boxes with it being close enough to Bristol for our local guests to travel to and from, as well as enough rooms and beds for our immediate family and friends to stay. It is a blank canvas venue where you can design your wedding to what you want. Not only do you have the space inside the ground but also the outside surroundings of the castle where you and your guests can go mingle near the fire pit late in the evening. A lot of couples get married between the middle turret and the main gates, but for me that was quite a short walk especially as a harpist I have a great appreciation for the aisle walk music. Once I saw their grandiose 2 trees entwining, I knew that instantly it was where I wanted to make my vows and as it turns out we were the first to do that at the venue. The team was great with keeping in contact with us when we arrived the day before the wedding. Like any wedding, we had a few hiccups like our master bedroom bath tap not turning off on the wedding morning at 6am (it’s an old building, these things happen). But with the Walton Castle team not being too far from the main venue, they were there in no time to help solve any problems. Our guests who stayed at the castle really appreciated the large bedrooms that were provided and the kids definitely made use of the underground pool the day before the wedding. All our guests loved our small tours to the balcony for photos and my husband and I had some wonderful pictures taken at the baby grand piano within one of the turrets. For anyone thinking of booking, I would recommend finding well established suppliers who know the venue or who are willing to go view it beforehand. Especially as they will need to have good communication with the venue and with what it provides (ie electrical/generators). As a client, you are in charge of booking everything, it could be very helpful booking an external wedding planner for this venue. Make sure to pick companies that know the industry well and will go that extra mile to get all the smaller jobs done for you. As I said at the start, you are booking a blank canvas to make your dream wedding, and Walton Castle is that perfect setting to add to.
