We wanted to go on a very snowy day in December. The gentleman who owns this car museum opened up especially for us even though there was 6 inches of snow . I love that after decades of exploring and visiting Scotlands attractions, I can still find new places and be surprised at how good they are. This little museum doesn't seem to be very well known and we were surprised at how quiet it was. The engines and carriages are all laid out in rows and you can go inside many of them. Some of them are still a work in progress and others have been lovingly restored. As well as the main storage area, there is also a gallery that you can visit, which allows you to watch the trains being worked on. The museum isn't large and thee isn't a cafe, however, it's directly opposite the heritage railway and there is a shop and cafe there. We managed to spend about an hour in the museum, then another hour walking around the yards and watching the various steam trains. All in all, it was a lovely day out, my kids had a blast.

My friend was choking on a wee bit of chicken 🐥 cougons - I think they were called The top halve was tough & the bottom halve was hard. She got 3 more of them & the top halve was soft but the bottom halve was hard. But give them their due - they were very good 👍 & didn't charge us for their lovely tasting ice cream 🍨🍨 So sorry I can't find the photos but i'm an honest, trustworthy reviewer & the staff were very nice

I went in to book a table beforehand. We were welcomed and shown to our table. The steak pie was excellent. Very generous portion of meat which was beautifully cooked and fluffy chips too. The veg was not overcooked. We also ordered an item on the specials menu which was a Corbie burger which was also very tasty. We were too full for a dessert. The two real ales on offer were also excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful regarding local knowledge and we would happily return there if we visit the area again.

It was nice to see how the school has changed over the last 50 years it has been a primary school. The museum also was insightful as it drew my attention to a number of industries that were once in Linlithgow. Other than the distillery and an army barracks I was totally unaware of the other products produced in Linlithgow. If you have an hour in town make your way there. It is free and we'll worth your time. We also tested the accessibility, which at the weekend is taped off, but we were able to get access to the lift and it all being step free.
