I wasn’t sure what to expect. You actually get to go into a mine. We learned that this was a mine that they now use for educational and touring purposes. Lee, our tour guide, was amazing! He had the perfect combination of humor and education. I learned so much. After the tour, the trolley picked us up at the mine and took us through a tour of Wallace Idaho. I highly recommend this tour! Tips: It is cold and damp. Wear pants and bring a jacket. They demonstrate loud equipment, but only for a few seconds. You can bring earplugs, but we were fine plugging our ears. To get into the mine, there are several steep steps up a hill. If you find steps difficult, you may want to consider this. We arrived and went to walk in and an older gal was sitting outside saying they told her to leave because they were closing early. The girl at the front told us she'd call out letting us know when the trolly was there for our tour. We were in the store looking around and went up to the front 5 minutes before our scheduled time. She informed us that the trolly had just left. We asked her why she didn't call out to let us know, like she had said she was going to do. Rather than apologize for her mistake, she immediately started making excuses, literally saying, "my feet hurt and I just got here" and "it's been busy", which by the way, she had checked in a few people between our arrival and what was supposed to be our tour departure. We went on the mine tour in June 2025 and it was one of the best mine tours I’ve been on (and I’ve been on more than a few). Our guide John was an experienced miner from the area and he live demonstrated the pneumatic drill, mucker and the dynamite blasting sequence all along with great easy to understand explanations. He was especially good with kids on the tour. If this wasn’t enough, the tour included a trolley ride around Wallace with a friendly and knowledgeable driver that was great too. Add this the fact that the cost of this tour was 1/3 less than the much more limited Gold Mine tour over in Kellogg and this Sierra Silver Mine tour just can’t be beat. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Great bartenders, great music, great drinks & really good prices. My issue lies with the Coffee Shop; the hours are SO inconsistent. They do not open according to posted hours, and it’s unclear when coffee is no longer served. (It’s 3pm by the way). When I DO get the chance to get coffee, it’s delicious. Seriously some of the best coffee in Wallace. One time, I waited in my car for a hour after the posted hours hoping someone would show up, but ended up taking my business across the street.
