We arrived an hour before opening and spent time in the store next door looking through the fascinating souvenirs. I highly recommend arriving early because there were many people hanging around waiting. There was live guitar music being played. The hostess was lovely and sat us quickly. We would have had a prime location if they had any performers on stage. They didn’t the night we went. Our waitress was lovely and polite, but she made us feel a little rushed and brought things out too quickly. The food was fantastic! My wife went in to restaurant and had a seat. My family of 6 were trailing behind. There were a few empty tables on a Monday at about 4pm. My wife had asked me if I liked the location of the table and I affirmed. Then out of nowhere this lady who was bussing the tables says, rudly, to my wife, " look, it's over here"...get out and she pointed to an A-frame sign which did read "wait to be seated." In my defense the A-frame could be interpreted different because the angle that my wife saw it from was from the direction we walked in which it said, "Please seat yourself". No big deal, but this lady was rude and said to get out. We clearly left the establishment after I told the lady there was no reason to be rude about it. Upon my exit, a few customers whispered to me and gave me a thumbs up and said glad you stood up for your family. She was rude. They may have good food but their service and customer service is sub-par. Invest your time and money where you will be treated with respect, I did and enjoyed it!

The kids had a paddle in the front which kept them entertained. No one flipped over! They were so accommodating - we had a Texas State Park pass so they helped us fill out the dashboard sticker in the morning and dropped off the day’s park registration so we could follow them into the park and at the conclusion of our canoe trip continue on our own for more hiking and exploring. We explored Big Bend National Park and other areas. The campground is rugged and we were worried about the people on the hills dogs when first arriving. It is a very quiet spot and great star gazing, however your rv is parked right next to a junk yard with broken down rusting cars. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. Our electricity cut out in the middle of the night on our first night. We moved spots the second night and had no issues.
