It is not a place to go “party” or really hang out all that much. It is a nice quiet building with a nice little tour. You have the freedom to walk just about anywhere in the building. The main purpose is to conduct Government business firstly and secondly to act as a historical monument of education to the people that the government does business on behalf of. I would say if you’re looking for a massive tourist hub of activity that is not what this place is. But if you are looking for a cool building with lots of artwork and historical facts and history and to learn more about the Nebraska state government you found your place. I would say the most under utilized part of the building is the outside 2nd floor balcony. It’s a beautiful 360 view of the surrounding downtown area. It is obviously not as high up as the 14th floor view but it’s a beautiful open terrace like area to enjoy both the building and outside. The 2nd Most under utilized section would be the 4 gardens on the interior. Each garden section has a beautiful different colored water fountain, and benches. These are designed to allow a breeze to blow down into them most of the time and standing close to the fountain is usually a cooler temp as the moving water acts like a swamp cooler. The wonderfully black and white checkered pathways add a nostalgic tinge of beauty to walking in the space. These are good places to just sit with your thoughts, be alone, or otherwise find some peace for a bit. The only reason I don’t give this place 5 stars is because it does feel like there are amenities missing in comparison to other state capitols. The information desk on the 1st floor isn’t always staffed and if you don’t come in the main front entrance it isn’t obvious where the tourist office is. And the cafeteria is nothing to write home about. But the newly opened gift shop is wonderful. Also it is a great substitute if you are visiting but the city center tourist office is closed the capitol staff have some great recommendations and advice for visitors.

There was also a group of quilters at work in a large open space. Bathrooms are found on all three levels as well accessibility by elevator. I've been going here since I was in elementary school. It has such a unique combination of old and modern. There are murals from around 1995 by paleoartist Mark E. Marcuson. I wish there was information about the artist who made it. There is unique "antique" technology in the Mesozoic Gallery if you look closely. I hope they keep it around a bit longer! As adults, we took our out of town family to this museum & we LOVED it! We didn’t even get to go through it all because there was so much to see & we had a time limit because of previous engagements. To top it all off, there was a basket with free to use, tampons, pads, & small paper bags for sanitary products. It was said that Cindy was fired (no proven docs were provided) and the 2 other wait staff also. Hoping Cindy is fired & no other wedding couple/family has to go through with the bad service- hoping Venue has fixed the issue & improved with the service end.

The concert was sold out but everyone did well at directing the lines of people getting in. They also let us know quicker entrances to use for the upper seats. Alot of the merch sold very quickly before the show. Im sure that depends on who the artist is. The upper seats are well laid out so you don't have to worry about tall people blocking your view. I would not recommend seats too far on the sides since you don't get as good of a view of the stage set up. We could see the side view but also did have some large speakers a little in the way. The location is unbeatable, I am 100 yards from food, bars, a grocery store, and a 3 minute walk from the stadium. The room is spacious and not made with cheap materials...unlike some of the other apartment complexes. The management is friendly and it doesn't feel like "you vs them". I parked in a restricted spot to run inside quick and instead of towing me the management called me and reminded me to move. That's customer service! Price-wise it is slightly above the cost of living in a loud/unfinished college building. Totally worth it..

Many college kids rent the upstairs units, and they will often party in the halls and blare music all night on the weekends. If that doesn't get you, the loud Big Red tailgates outside your window on game days will! (No hate though, love the Huskers!!) Next message from Cynthia (arrived as we ordered supper) “residents are complaining that your vehicles stick out too far, please remove one of your vehicles”…so we get to stress about that while hosting 16 people for supper. Got a message later saying the cars were fine…for $2000/night, Cynthia could put eyes on the situation BEFORE sending the initial message & adding to the stress of hosting 16 people for supper. In the am, we messaged Cynthia requesting additional towels (there weren’t enough for everyone). Cynthia's response was to ask if we looked for towels under the sinks and assured us, “there are enough towels; if not there's a wash machine, you can wash some”…host was wrong, there were NOT enough towels. Additionally, for $2000/night, I don’t expect the host to send me on an Easter Egg hunt for towels; and we didn't come to Lincoln to do laundry. Messaged Cynthia that the refrigerators weren’t working; DESPITE BEING ON THE COLDEST SETTING, one stayed at 54 degrees and the other stayed at 43 degrees…NOT safe for food storage. Over the course of 36 hours, neither fridge made enough ice for more than a couple drinks. Oh…the espresso machine doesn’t work either. Cynthia said she’d send a MX man to look at the fridges and bring more towels…the fridges NEVER worked but after the game there were a bunch of sheets & towels piled on the Master Bed. Another passive aggressive move. Instructions say a WELCOME BOOK would be sitting on the kitchen counter…it was not. We went on a day and a half treasure hunt before finding it tucked way back in a drawer behind a pile of brochures. Again, Cynthia needs hospitality training in both accommodation preparedness and customer service. I do NOT recommend renting this property. If you DO rent the property, do a VERY thorough walk thru because now Cynthia is charging us $107 for a carpet stain in a bedroom...where the only liquid was distilled water for a CPAP.
