We arrived just before the breakfast menu ends and the lunch time menu starts. My partner ordered a breakfast bap (two of them actually as he was very hungry) and he made changes to the contents of the bap. I ordered off of the lunch menu, I had a cheese and onion omellete. My son (aged 4) ordered sausage, chips and gravy. We had a lovely man take our order, were gutted we didn't catch his name so we could mention him properly. He sat down with us while taking our order and showed us the specials board too on the TV screen. The upstairs seating is very nice, the styling is beautiful. The food was stunning, cooked to perfection. I was amazed with the salad that came with my food, I was expecting the basic generic side salad.. but this one had peppers, beetroot with a basil/pesto style glaze. We enjoyed it that much we decided to visit a second time but this time brought my partners parents with us. They absolutely loved their food, they both ordered the pulled pork baps. The man waiting on us remembered us from previously and we had a really good conversation. All the staff are lovely there. Even the downstairs seating is beautifully styled. My partner tried the cheesecake on this visit and said it was delicious. Can't wait to visit again when were next in the area.

On arrival, we were welcomed warmly while ordering drinks and enjoyed the cosy, traditional feel of the pub. After a short wait, a member of the friendly team took our food order at the bar, though we did notice table service was also available. Not long after, our meals arrived. It was generously filled with tender beef and was good. Our other dish was a chicken tikka masala, which came out slightly later than the pie, but the delay was well communicated by the team. As soon as I called up to place an order the worker was rude and snappy. When I arrived to collect my order, it took a few minutes for someone to come to the front as they were all clearly sat down chatting with one another. When the man came up to the front he stared at me and said nothing! I then said I ordered two pizza's and a garlic bread. He then thought it was necessary to say "NO! You ordered three pizza's" in a very rude and unnecessary tone as it states in the menu that it is under a completely different category, that being garlic bread (as I said) and not pizza which he was trying to make the point of. After all this unnecessary back and forth, the food was mediocre at best the pizzas and garlic bread was drowning in oil and very salty. Safe to say I would never go back again! After my meal I had looked through the reviews. Safe to say I agree with alot of the negative reviews especially ones about them being rude and seeming to have an issue with females. I personally felt i have been discriminated against. Not a word was said to my partner but me on the other recieved all the dirty looks and unnecessary comments.
