So of course, trusting the “managers” word, we went to the bathroom and not even 2 minutes into us being in there we hear someone yell “everyone’s going in!!” So of course mid USING THE BATHROOM we run out and realise that everyone has gone inside and we’d lost our spots that we spent HOURS lining up for. A truly terrible experience. Proper communication and training would’ve helped this situation and prevented it. Great show, but that was because the artist was great. Venue itself was nice. Drinks were meh. Staff not so great.

The Atmosphere took a little hit because of the awkward location of this venue. Being at one of the entrances for Melbourne Central there were a couple of weird people that walked past the venue while we had our drinks and that's not the best when you're trying to have a chill night. The drinks actually tasted really good, the only downsides were that they cost $30 each and were very small portions, I understand it is all eco-friendly and zero waste but personally it was just too expensive for me. On the money topic, my partner and I ordered their side of chips that cost $12 and it was a bowl of packaged chips, a little underwhelming for the venue we were at. It's a nice venue to have a drink or maybe two on a night out!!

Finally made it here during my recent trip to MEL. My friends and I did not have a reservation but were able to get a table in 5 mins. Upon arriving, we were given a small shot of a complementary drink which I thought was a very nice gesture. We ended up trying 6 cocktails, 3 from their seasonal menu and 3 from their seasoned (all time hits) menu. My favs among the 6 were the Halftime Oranges from the seasonal menu and the Vinegar Stroke from the seasoned menu. However I felt that the overall experience was a bit underwhelming for me personally given the cocktail experiences I’ve had in other World & Asia Top 100 bars. Service was good. No issues on that front at all. Overall, I think this is a very decent bar, and definitely one of the best in Australia. But I am not sure if it’s a World Top 100 bar.

I am not here to through businesses under the bus but hope they would learn from this as I had to give feedback to a group of friends that wanted to visit the place. From the alleyway entrance, to the entrance way and stairs, to being greeted by our friendly server. We only stopped in for 1 drink each due to the hour of our arrival, but for our first time visit we both thought it was quite a nice place. The exposed wooden beams and general atmosphere and fit-out of the bar was quite subdued but comfortable. Brighter than most cocktail bars this size or style. The menu was interesting, a few stood out, but again due to time we just picked 2 that we thought would be different to what we had been having at other most recent bars. The drinks were tasty, well presented and balanced. Did they blow us away? I would say no, but the quality definitely suggested that had we stayed and tried a few other drinks on the menu we may have had a better idea of what the mixologists were capable of. This is somewhere we will have to re-visit and update this review. But for our brief visit and quick drinks it was still a pleasant experience and would still say it is worth visiting to see for yourself if you are in the area (they take walk-ins).

From the both the drinks we loved the Green bamboo but the size of the mocktail had a special kind of a glass that costed us 20$ for each mocktails. Service was top notch. Warm and attentive but not at all overbearing. The atmosphere is perfect. Very intentional and refined on every level - the lighting, the decor, the art. Nothing feels like an accident in this place. Watching the kitchen staff work through the open kitchen window got me very excited for the food. They were serious and paying a great deal of attention to their craft but loose and relaxed at the same time. Now the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. Soured cucumbers, bread and I can’t even remember what else but it was all 1000/10. Everything was covered in fresh herbs but not in a token garnish way, they were all very much a part of the dish. Given Navi’s popularity, I went in with high expectations and I must say that the restaurant lives up to it. The menu is a tasting menu comprising 13-14 courses (including the amuse bouche and petit fours). The amuse bouche courses were fantastic, which resulted in a great start to the dining experience. After the starter courses, the main menu started with a chawanmushi which was brilliant. Every course leading up to the main course was quite unique in its preparation and flavor profile. The main course of “3 types of duck” was absolutely delightful and my personal favourite course. The meal ended with a couple of dessert courses and petit fours which we also loved to bits. Service is top notch. The restaurant staff are very kind, polite and jovial. They explained each course in detail and engaged in conversations in case we had any questions. The restaurant was also able to cater to a specific allergy I had. The only thing I would say which can improve the overall experience is if the restaurant was in a bigger space. The tables are very close to each other, and hence the noise level is in the higher side, and the privacy of any conservation can be compromised. All in all, this is a brilliant fine dining establishment and I would 100% recommend a visit for those living in or visiting Melbourne.

Sensational. Amazing atmosphere and the staff are very professional and welcoming. Think dimly lit, calming, casual but classy, boozy bluesy bar. Cosy booths are available as are smaller tables and chairs for seating. Tasteful easy listening music playing in the background. We didn't order food but I could see tables around us were served very quickly. We'll definitely be back when in Melbourne next.
