Staff were very friendly and attentive. Croquettes were delicious and fried squid, my gosh, amazing! Loved the sauces that paired with it. However the mains were a let down after such delicious starters. The beef cheek was tender, but everything else were bland. Sauce was too thin, and the grilled vegs had almost no seasoning. Paella lacked some flavours, and it wasn’t slightly charred at the bottom, which wasn’t to my liking. Is the food quality something I would expect from a Michelin recognised restaurant, maybe no? The paella and desserts? Not so great. Sangria was thicker than the usual ones but it was so delicious we had 2 jugs! The tapas prawn goes very nicely with the bread as the flavour from the olive oil is filled with shrimp! Octopus was grilled perfectly and goes so well with the mash. Didn’t quite enjoy the paella as most of the rice were sticker to the bottom and honestly the portion was smaller than we expected. Desserts were too sweet and unflavoured. Think we’ll just stick with the sangria and tapas next time!

Unfortunately for me the lamb was impossible to cut, even with a serrated sharp knife. Then came the chewing which was also impossible. I called this to their attention and the took it back. They apologised and said that it was not cooked right and then served me a fresh plate. This was a little better. I do think the dish has imperfections and it can be improved. Especially with the gravy and the relish type thing. I ended with the tiramisu which was good and I was very tempted to order another but the missus was rolling her eyes at this point. Service is average as my order of a water refill nvr arrived from the male waiter and had to request it from another. My request for ice was turned down by one and then offered by another. The establishment has potential, it just needs to work on a few issues.

While the bistro serves up a variety of dishes but since it’s Christmas, we’ve had no choice but to take their Christmas menu. Their set up is quite odd in that you go in and get a table, scan the menu AND THEN walk over to the cashier and order and pay b4 the meal.
