The venue is beautiful and comfortable with great ambience and very cozy. The interior is awesome. You can see the KLCC Park from the restaurant’s window. The restaurant was almost empty during lunchtime that made the conservation’s easier. The three of us ordered the set lunch. From the set lunch, I selected: Appetiser: Roasted tomato soup Main course: Grilled tenderloin Dessert: Black forest mousse We had very delicious lunch. Food taste, quality, portion size and presentation is also very good. Every dish was well finished in detail. The tomato soup is nice. The grilled tenderloin is well prepared. The mousse dessert is also delicious and interesting with butterfly decoration. The service is excellent with very friendly staff with proposer table service. It is fairly expensive restaurant, if without the Mandarin Oriental discount card but it is worth the price since it is comparable against other fine dining restaurants in KL. The waiter told us that soon, they are going to launch a new concept to “all grills” from the current “Italian foods”. Definitely will visit again when they change to the new “all grills” concept.

I requested for kuah banjir like I always do at nasi kandar restaurants. The mix of curries or kuah blended together harmoniously. The aromatics were fragrant and the spices were not overly done. The appetising tang as well as sweetness from the kuah madu and kuah bawang brought that extra dimensions of taste to round off the savoury elements. The ayam bawang was not too dry and so was the ayam madu. I felt the ayam bawang successfully captured the quintessential taste of the dish. The marination and seasoning was present throughout the chicken albeit not overly powering. The ayam madu turned out to be a decent rendition here too. The kobis bunga sadly was a little too salty and I was not fond of the telor dadar because it was not the fluffy type. One dish that stood out was their daging kicap. I was pleased with the tenderness of the meat and the taste immediately hits the perfect spot. Unlike most daging I had at nasi kandar stalls, the gravy here seemed to be more refined which offered a lusher texture without sacrificing on its intensity and richness. In summary, this nasi kandar did not entirely win me over as the best in KL but it would be a shame to simply give them a hard pass. I'd still recommend to give them a try if you happen to be in the city.

Our go to order is prawn and squid satisorru. The prawn has the savoury taste. Both are more on the spicy side and you get a lot of protein in your meal. 5 big prawn for the regular bowl, only for RM 19. You get free drinks as well. The staff are polite and nice, but you have to wait a while for your food as its made to order. However it always comes piping hot so its worth the wait. Parking at roadside, depends on availability.
