We came here to treat our daughter for a birthday lunch. Our aim was to try authentic Italian food items that are rarely available at other local Italian restaurants. Village Park’s nasi lemak used to be the best in Malaysia. The rice was wonderfully fluffy, rich with coconut and pandan fragrance, and the fried chicken was incredibly juicy—even after deep frying. Although we had made a reservation beforehand, there seemed to be some confusion upon our arrival as our name was not on the list. The front desk escorted us into the restaurant, then left us unattended while they rechecked the reservation again. This felt unnecessary, especially since only three tables were occupied at the time. Eventually, a waiter noticed us and guided us to our seats. It took nearly 15 minutes before menus were brought to us, and even then only the food and wine list were provided and not the beverage menu. We had to ask twice before it finally arrived. We were expecting a better service for a restaurant in a renowned five-star hotel For the night, we ordered the beef tail broth soup and bone marrow as starters, and the Argentinian beef Wellington which recommendation serving is for two and mashed potatoes and two drinks on the side. The exterior flaky butter puff pastry offers a crispy, golden-brown crunch that gives way to the incredibly tender, succulent medium-rare beef at the core, encased in a rich earthy savoury mushroom duxelles creating a delightful contrast and a symphony of textures and flavours with every bite. By the end of the night, we were happily full and decided to skip dessert after so many indulgent courses. A special mention must go to our second waiter, Almin, if i can recall correctly, who delivered our food and completely turned the evening around. He was attentive, warm, and made us feel truly welcome in stark contrast to our rocky start in the beginning.

My maggi goreng was served with lemon slices rather than lime which I found quite interesting. The curry seasoning flavour is a little mild. Color is on the darker side. Nasi Lemak with fried chicken is 6/10. The sambal recipe improved since last time I came. Rice is mildly fragrant and mildly tasting of coconut milk. Anchovies were a little stale. The fried chicken is crispy and of generous portion. Does not come with egg unless requested. Roti is decent. Curries are well flavoured and thick. My mango lassi was thick and quite sweet, seems like they added sugar. Commendable service here from owner and waiters. Seating is quite limited and the restaurant is always crowded. Upon being seated, we were then offered a variety of twinnings tea and for each person you will get a warm, unlimited refill pot of tea of your choice. The chef is very true to napoleon style as the food brought back a lot of memories of my Naples vacation for me. The ingredients were imported from Italy. All the pizzas and pasta were spot on for me. We had a party of 5 and they were able to curate a set dinner for us which included a bottle of wine. My top 3 favourites were the pork sausage pasta with tomato base and black olives, the margarita pizza and the fried milk dessert which I could not name. The service was very friendly and warm. Overall a place that I definitely will go again when I visit KL next time. The restaurant is inside the colonial house so it gives a nice ambience. Parking lots next to the restaurant.
