We decided to head back that afternoon for their happy hour. The lager they have from Cannery Brewing is one of the cleanest and tastiest lagers I've had in a long time - it was ICE cold. We grabbed a couple of appies (yam fries and calamari) and they were both excellent. All of the staff were super friendly. It was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time!

It was mid-week, and hwy 97 is still closed but there were a few tables with people. We're from the Lower Mainland, and while the menu had less options, it's certainly enough to pick from, with a few very entertaining descriptions on one of the last pages, and the prices compare to a couple spots we order from near home. We ordered; Ginger beef; there was lots, had good flavour, texture was a good mix of the meat and somewhat crispy outside, not dry, and had some pieces of peppers and onions mixed in. BBQ pork Shanghai noodles; looked like a lot until my son had seconds, lol! The pieces of BBQ pork were bigger than I usually see and a good amount of it. Sweet and Sour pork, a fav of mine; I love it with pineapple and this dish didn't have any but also wasn't mentioned in the menu. I might have expected a bit more on the plate, however, the pieces were bigger than I'm used to and nicely done, not dry and the sauce was different, more of a tomato and honey taste I want to say, but really good. Breaded Chicken with Lemon; it was more than I expected, nicely cooked with a smaller dish of lemon sauce on the side. Perfectly cooked, not too thin, with a good meat to breading ratio, meaning more meat than breading. The service was great! The lady serving us came over quickly to get our drink order, came back quickly and had to give us a few minutes with the menu. From the time we ordered to the time food was on the table was lightening fast! Likely because we were the last table that evening, and it wasn't too busy but still, very fast! She came back to check on us a couple times during our meal and seemed to know when we were about done, asking if we wanted the rest packed up, which she did for us. While we were eating, she chatted with a local couple near us for a bit, who wanted to come back so she let them know to call ahead first since they'll close soon, temporarily, to take their own vacations. He assured me that was just a tech issue but he'd tell the cook. When it came to the items on the menu the price is a little ridiculous for the portions you get 19$ for a rib poutine that comes in a little bowl definitely not worth it, my servers name was Amanda and she seemed to have little to no emotion. After I was done my food I found a little fly in my bowl I understand accidents happen so I wasn’t to worried about it, but I was a little confused as to why they couldn’t discount it they said the machine wasn’t letting them do it but that just seems a little suspicious. I understand this place just opened but if they want happy customers they should reconsider their portions and customer service.

We were happy that someone else had taken over the place and kept it running. The decor was nice, and it looked like the place had a renovation. There was lots of outdoor seating and the weather was nice for most of our time there. They were a little short staffed and were having issues clearing off tables to make room for new guests. There was also a long wait for service, but once we had our order in the food, it came out very quickly, and it was quite delicious. To drink I had a Caesar, it was hands down the very best Caesar I have ever had. I currently live in Calgary the city that invented the Caesar, but they can learn how to make a good one at 1st and Beach. Not only was the service exceptional the owner and cook came out and spoke to us. They do offer all-day breakfast of course but I can only imagine everything on the menu will be the best that you will ever have. So I say again if it isn't our weight it is very well worth it. And to mention the portions were perfect, I can't wait to come and try more.
