Views is directly to the fort and masjid which is lovely 🥰
The host gave us seats right away and took to us very kindly and shared recommendations to the menu.
We ordered their house salad / absolutely wonderful - mixed of savory and sweet and really hit the spot.
We also got the chicken tawook and shuwa which were both lovely and flavorful. Their dessert menu was exceptional as well.
Definitely recommend coming here for a nice quiet evening.

We had dinner, was very good, so next day we had breakfast as well. I loved the iced coffees. Kaiser was our waiter. He was truly friendly and enthusiastic. Thank you for the good service! Food and the view were great as well. You can see the sunrise/sunset from the rooftop, you have a look on the mountains and palm trees. Totally recommend!

Being referred there by locals, we went to get good Omani food for dinner. The floor seating was a nice touch. Food, however was bland semi-Indian fare and we didn't think it did any honour to actual Omani cuisine. As we weren't very hungry, we shared 4 7-rial menus between the six of us.
The food was oily, fish and chicken were fried to a stiff, dry, chewy state and some bits just didn't seem fresh.
The atmosphere was dim and gloomy. I wouldn't call it dirty, but worn down carpets and wall panels made us feel as if in a lousy tourist trap.

The food was served completely cold, the meat was low quality and tasteless, and the mini fries were cold, flavourless, and poorly prepared. What we received looked nothing like the photos shown on the menu, which was really frustrating.
According to consumer protection laws in Oman, if a product or service doesn’t match what’s advertised, customers have the right to cancel the order and request a refund — which we did.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by their service team and taken to the spot I reserved right away.
Their team was fully aware of our reservation and instructions and I was pleased with their professionalism.
The food was also great and carried the right amount of creativity and authenticity of Italian cuisine. For the drinks, we had the apple raspberry mocktail and pineapple cherry mocktail. They were both great in taste and looks with floral notes coming from fresh flowers. For the food, we had Olio salad (4/5), truffle rigatoni (3.5/5, was cooked al dente by default. Ask for well done if preferred), chicken pesto pizza (5/5) and brisket risotto (5/5. Sauce is very creative). For dessert, we had chocolate mousse mascarpone (5/5) which was very creative and balanced in taste.

Okay I was expecting that it would be mediocre at best, but I couldn't be more wrong. I have eaten Indian food in very good Indian restaurants, including top options in London, NYC, and Ireland. This one easily makes it into my top 5. The flavors were very rich and the texture was spot on. We had the Chicken 65 and Beef curry and a portion of rice and naan on the side. All dishes were excellent. The place itself looks rundown and the service isn't great, but if you just want good food this is one of the better options in Nizwa.

It's by a petrol station, so it's idea for takeaway. The sitting area is small and does not have proper air conditioning. Half of the items in the menu are not available so it might be better just to add them what they have without going through the menu. The service is slow. The staff speak very very loudly in Hindi with each other, which truly bothers when you're sitting inside. The sandwiches that we ordered were fine but very spicy.

Honestly, by this point, I think I will start rating Italian restaurants based on how good the octopus is, and this place nails it with flying colors!
The octopus isn't just cooked to perfection, but the portion is actually quite generous. It is hard to elaborate just how delicious it is, because I do understand that it isn't everyone's cup of tea... or stretch of tentacle rather.
Additionally, I ordered a beef filet I believe it was called, cooked medium-rare on the inside, and crispy on the outside. This truly has set a new standard of cooking preparation for me, which I believe is going to make other chefs' techniques taste obsolete to me.
The pizza is tough to rate, because there are places that serve a more authentic crust. But! With that said, it was definitely a good pizza.
The staff is above and beyond friendly. Seriously wonderful, and I want to say thank you to all of them for the great service.
The decor could use an upgrade, but the views compensate for that IMMENSELY!

I’ve eaten the same dinner here for the past 3 nights bc it’s so cheap, delicious and filling: egg and cheese on housemade chapati (def better than the even cheaper beta bread). The first night I also had a salad which was so filling I saved half for the next day. Lots of dark green leaves which made me so happy in this land of carbs.

More of my "giving credit where credit's due:" these guys have the most enviable location in all of Nizwa (which is already saying a lot), yet they still have a proactive attitude and are welcome to meeting needs of hungry and thirsty tourists. I say this because I was walking around the souq, and no one would wait on me, a paying customer. Was it too hot? Anyway, this place very politely provided me with a delicious coffee, and I had not intended to stay, but while they were preparing it, I realized just how beautiful their setup was, so I got some Omani crepes, and they were superb and very well priced despite their being clearly focused on tourist dollars. So the hospitality, good prices, and great atmosphere all lead me to highly recommend this place. I did not try their heartier dishes, though, but I am confident they can do them justice.

Para acceder al restaurante lo haces a través de la puerta del hotel que se encuentra en la misma ubicación. Al llegar te dan la posibilidad de cenar en una especie de reservado en la planta baja o subir a la azotea (a veces se debe subir por las escaleras y son 4 pisos). Nosotros decidimos cenar en la azotea, por lo que antes de subir nos solicitaron que les indicásemos lo que íbamos a querer cenar puesto que la cocina está en la planta baja, y ellos te lo suben posteriormente. Nuestras elecciones fueron: meat shiwa (carne de cordero hecha a baja temperatura envuelta en una hoja de viña acompañada de arroz) y beef thareed (guiso de ternera con patatas y verduras), y de beber agua. Las raciones fueron muy abundantes, el sabor exquisito y la calidad-precio excelente (7 OMR precio total por los dos platos y las bebidas, es decir, unos 15 euros). Our experience in Alila and Juniper was fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly and well-trained. We dined here twice and ordered Omani, Indian and Asian dishes, everything was delicious and flavourful.
Staff members Miraj and Shahadat took great care of our family of 6. They went out of their way to accommodate lactose-free and child meals!
Executive Chef Pankaj was very courteous and professional, checking on us multiple times and recommending special preparations.

The food was great, balanced flavor mixed with many unique ingredients and aromatics. The dishes were sophomores yet simple. The servings may look small but is very filling in my opinion.
The interior and exterior has great furnishings ,creating a cozy atmosphere. I’d suggest sitting outside to appreciate the Mountain view as you dine. Though do come at a cooler climate as it can get quite hot during midday.
The service was what really boosted the overall experience. Our waiter Aisha was very friendly and eager to help. She made this meal incredibly enjoyable with her welcoming remarks and fun personality. If you do manage to get her, count yourself lucky. 😁

When we stayed in Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman for 4 days, we used to have breakfast at Juniper Restaurant and also had dinner couple of times. The restaurant is gorgeous especially the outdoor seating area. We loved their menu options and they are also vegetarian/vegan friendly. The staff are super nice and took really good care of us. For such simple order it usually takes 5-10 min or you need to inform in advance about waiting for the order.

We found it hard to find places for dinner in Nizwa, especially in the old town/souq area. This one is pretty good! Good atmosphere. Offers simple menu of kebabs (chicken, beef or mixed), dips (hummus etc), salad (3 choices) and bread. Drinks options water or soft drink. Tasty and fast. Pretty good place… simple combo of grilled meats, salad, pita and hummus. All tasted good and fit the bill for what we were looking for. Also wasn’t expensive.
The seating is all outside which is perfectly fine but it was a very hot evening so by the end of dinner we were sweaty messes. Not sure a fan would have helped as the air was also super hot.
Definitely an option to pick if you need a place to eat while in Nizwa.

First of all, a shout out and thank you to the young Egyptian waiter. He was very attentive!
We had the mixed portion with humus and the yoghurt dip with garlic. The dips and bread were pretty good, but the meat and chicken skewers were quite hard and chewy. The kebabs were goo though. The ambiance is good, it is one of the few nice local food places. If you want athmosphere and sit down and relax, this place is your go to. If you want to eat the best skewers, the street vendors by the goat market are probably better.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We ordered chicken and beef masala, a portion of rice, and two tandoori naan. The manager, Kamal, was incredibly attentive and suggested an Indian dessert, Gulab Jamun with ice cream, which turned out to be a fantastic combination. Well, this was a bit disappointing. And quite expensive.
While the naan was excellent (after we received plain naan at the third trial), everything else was with room for improvement. E.g. Daal was a small portion, with few lentils but loads of oil on top. The chicken was okay. The salad - it’s a real Indian one if u know what I mean.
Even after wiping our table twice, there was still old sauce sticking on it.
We wouldn’t come back.

Delicious food, but it looks like they overcharged us a little. Another negative point was that in the evening they only had very little food options left. But the food we had was delicious, so it's for sure a good place to go in Nizwa central. Very friendly and good service. We were put in a separate room (without windows). Which seemed a bit weird, but we later heard this is custom to do for families and women.
